VERY disappointed. I paid $150 for alterations on a dress (smoothing out darting, taking up a simple hem, and taking in an off-the-shoulder sleeve) and was embarrassed by the final product. The darting was not smoothed out and an elastic was put in the sleeve which made it look like a bad 80s/90s puff sleeve. I was willing to pay the high cost for the alterations as I understand that great alterations work can be costly. Unfortunately the work was completed JUST before the wedding that I was officiating (due to the owner's family emergency, which is very understandable, and I offered to take my dress elsewhere if she wasn't able to complete the work) and was stuck with the messy final product and a lot of unnecessary stress before a family wedding.

This is by far the best tailor I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I have had a few tricky suit jacket alterations done at other places and the results though satisfactory don't stand comparison to Dinh's quality of work. Once you find a great tailor you stick with them and that seems to be the case with L&L Unisex Alterations. Dinh Nguyen is the owner of L&L Unisex Alterations and an amazing tailor to say the least. Whether it's something new or if you looking to revive some old articles of clothing that have been sitting in the back of your closet for which you paid a hefty price and love but it just doesn't fit right anymore, L&L is the place to go! I have had everything altered from brands such as Brooks Brothers shirts, Ralph Lauren Jeans, Diesel vests, the list goes on and the only person I trust to do the job is L&L. Nowadays I find myself bringing new cloths to L&L to get tailored to a slightly more European slim fit look which seems to be lacking in (men's) retails stores across Canada. Many positive things can be said about Dinh Nguyen but I simply view her as a true artist engaged in her work. Amazing!

Great service! It takes work to alter clothes to make them fitting from a larger size, but when you have to make them larger from a smaller size, I would imagine that's another ball game. But they did it!! My winter jacket was a size small, and they increased it by an inch from the mid section all the way down. Would definitely recommend.

While out for lunch my beautiful expensive Micheal Kors coat caught on a piece of wood under the table and ripped open one of the down filled pockets. Of course it didn’t tear around a stitch line but right through the middle. I was so upset and figured that even though it could be fixed there would always be an out of place stitch through the middle of that section. The material was nylon which would also make the repair tricky. When I picked up my coat the other day it took me a few minutes to figure out where the repair had been done. Dinh worked some kind of magic and put it all back together, while making sure to only sew along the original seams. This was my first time here but it certainly won’t be my last! She was a miracle worker and I was very satisfied with my service.

I have been going to this lady since I moved to Burlington in Jan/Feb 2018. By Summer 2018, I was a huge fan and a repeat customer. She has tailored suit jackets for me as well as slacks. Everything she does, she does with precision, care, and expertise. I just recently had her tailor a burgundy suit for me (jacket and pants) as well as a pair of charcoal pants. For the last 5 years I've been taking all my nice clothes for repairs and alterations at a small place in Yorkville... never again. Dinh "rescued" one of my favour silk blazers which was too narrow in the shoulders and ripping at the seams. I think the only way she was able to repair AND create more room in the shoulders was to use magic... not only that, she also reinforced it and made it stronger. She is simply the best seamstress / tailor I've ever used. She also adjusted the fit for 2 pairs of pants perfectly. The price was great. Based on this first experience, I will be going back to L & L from now on. Don't hesitate to bring your finest designer clothes to Dinh for alteration or repair. You will not be disappointed. Not only is she a remarkably talented woman but she is extremely generous and caring of all her customer's needs. This was my first time at L & L and it definitely will not be my last. I have been to several tailors in the past who have been a huge disappointment. I received a student discount and also got a complimentary steam for my romper. She honestly saved my life! I was able to return my romper to my friend on time without worrying about any holes or rips, it was as if they never happened. If anyone is looking for a well-priced tailor, this is the place to go. Blown away! Dinh did some absolutely phenomenal work for me on three skirts. I was having trouble getting the zipper up on 3 skirts, and wanted it replaced as well as requesting it to be let out 1/4 inch if fabric allowed. Not only did she let the skirts out the most perfect amount (and identically on all 3?!?!), but the zippers she replaced with were carefully colour matched, and friendly to my arthritic fingers (I am young but I struggle with Lupus, zippers are hard sometimes). She remembered my mentioning of my arthritis and she additionally added i-hook closures to the tops so that I can actually close it then use both hands to do the skirt up. This was so incredibly thoughtful to me. On top of all of that, the work she did was phenomenal, practically seamless work. Truly some of the best work I've seen, and I've been to a lot of tailors. I will be telling everyone I know to come here for all repairs and alterations, and I will be bringing all my clothes here from now on. For reference here, I am 5'3 with a 23 inch waist and I typically don't fit stores here, so tiny people, I know you're out there, this is the real deal tailor you're looking for. We brought two jackets to get fixed; one was a leather coat with a small tear/scratch and the other was a winter coat that was too large and needed to be taken in. Since the scratch on the leather coat wasn't a full rip, she said that it couldn't be fully mended. She suggested that she could try putting some glue on it so that it wouldn't tear further, and did so. It looks a bit better now, and at least it won't rip further. The winter coat was adjusted perfectly and she even fixed a button and a ripple in the lining for us at no extra charge. She is a pleasant person to deal with and we are happy with her work. I would definitely recommend this place!

Excellent quality alterations at a fair price. I came because of the high number of excellent reviews, and i will return because all of the good comments are accurate. I had two pairs of jeans shortened. Dinh is able to keep the original hem, and make it appear like it's factory-done. Even from the inside, i can't tell that material had been removed. I have to assume this takes the utmost time, effort and skill. Also had a polo repaired, where a seam was coming apart creating a hole. She returned the seam to original... or even better!! Dinh is a fabulous tailor! The best I’ve had in years. After seeing over one hundred five star reviews on Google and reading the comments, I was convinced to go to her for my tailoring. She understood exactly what I was looking for and within a week she had six pairs of paints tailored for me. I can speak to the quality of her work when she hemmed and tapered a pair of linen dress pants and added a 1.5” cuff - which was exactly what I asked for. Highly recommend her work!

I was really blown away! First-time customer and Dinh did a really great job with two of my dresses. One was a pretty challenging alteration as it had some uneven stitching on the sleeves, but Dinh redid the whole thing and now it fits amazing. Can’t recommend her highly enough :)

was referred to this business by a friend, but had a disappointing experience. 2 items to be sewn were promised at a specific time but were 7 weeks late. One of the items had to be completely redone and the 2nd item was sewn too large, but seamstress refused to take accountability (insisted I had lost weight). The buttons I provided were also lost, but seamstress insisted I did not provide her with any (but I had). Consequently the one item had a different button used and I did not receive any of my surplus buttons back. Also does not accept visa or debit - cash only. In all good conscience, I cannot recommend this business to others.
