Seems like a nice place, I wish they serviced zippers on backpacks though, so I had to take my business elsewhere unfortunately, maybe next time
Prividing clients with perfect alterations and professional, friendly service, William never disappoints. Indeed, I have never had to return for the same job; Oakridge Tailors gets it right the first time. Those who know me appreciate my low tolerance for poor customer service and great respect for excellent client experiences. Oakridge Tailors hits it out of the park - every time. Simply the best.
These guys do an awesome job. Tried many tailors. They are on the high side for price but you do get what you pay for. There’s a reason why they are so busy with a loyal following.
Professional, courteous and honest. Can't say enough about the level of good work they do, surgical masters of altering and fixing almost anything - for a price. I've almost never been told it can't be done here, but I've frequently been advised it isn't worth the money and yet they respect the customer enough to make their own decisions whether to go ahead or not. I find them very trustworthy and would bring anything to them first to at least get an assessment or an opinion.
They both are super nice and did a great job at tailoring my pants. Originally they said there would be a slight wait but they actually finished all three pairs faster than I expected. But just remember to not confuse them with the tailors inside the oakridge mall. They are good the other people not so much.
I've been to Oakridge Tailors countless times to get my Everlane jeans hemmed and altered to the length I want. I've also gotten a blazer and a canvas jacket tailored aswell (shortening the sleeves). Most of the time William has assisted me and he does a wonderful job, is kind and patient. I am loyal to this place for a reason and you should have your garments altered here too. You get what you pay for.
Best tailor I've ever been to. He really does an amazing job and he is so friendly. He makes sure everything fits perfectly and doesn't leave any detail untouched. He is priced a little higher than other places, but it is worth every penny. I will definitely be going back to him for any other alterations that I require.
Before you go: make sure you bring a debit card or cash. I went to get a pair of pants hemmed; it cost 25 dollars (a little pricier than I expected) but my pants turned out perfect. I had a specific pair of shoes in mind and brought them with me to try on; I described very generally what I wanted the end result to be, "slightly long but not dragging on the floor" and that's exactly what I got. Really friendly, Coconut (dog) is also very friendly! I plan to return with my other ill-fitting clothes. Thank you so much :)
They tailored my wedding dress and it was perfect! Thank you so much !
I brought my vintage wrangler jeans here to be hemmed and tapered. I was a bit nervous because of all the fabric that needed to be removed. (I'm 5' 1 and the jeans were at the length for someone who is 6') However, two weeks later when I went to pick up my order, I saw the jeans and all the alterations were *seamless*. The thread on the hem matched the colour of the original thread and the tapering of the leg melted right into the original hems of the jeans. It's as if I bought them this way. Thank you for your attention to detail and exceptional work!
Their hands down my go to tailors
Poor attitude, just simple look and say they can't fix it. Don't believe a tailor can't fix a zipper on leather pants
Very helpful and professional service. Needed a last minute alteration to a satin dress and they took the time to explain my options, and completed the work beautifully. Wouldn't go anywhere else in for tailoring in Vancouver!
They do excellent work and are up to date with fashion trends. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
I am very pleased with the tailoring adjustments on my German "Janker" jacket. The sides were brought in, the decorative belt on the back shortened and the sleeves shortened as well. Quite intricate work needed (especially on the sleeves) and was all very well done, much to my satisfaction. "click on photo to see all three views" I appreciated the friendly service and them being very upfront with what would be a good compromise to avoid unnecessary exorbitant costs. I have since brought in two casual blazers, one for a quick repair and the other for sleeve shortening. Pleased with that work as well. I will recommend as well as return for more tailoring when needed.
Highly recommend, they do a fantastic job. My pants were fitted perfectly.
Quick, fast, not sure about price since I rarely get things tailored
William and the team did an amazing job of fixing a pair of ill-fitting shorts I had, at a very fair price. The job they did was absolutely awesome, the shorts fit amazing now and the seams look perfect. 10/10 would recommend.
Good services but, too expensive. 50 dollars for a simple repair.
I've gone to tailors all over vancouver and had mixed experiences. Oakridge has been extremely consistent in their work. Ive had a couple of sport coats that I bought that were a size or two too large/long and tailoring these are a bit more complex job. They both fit as though tailor made now. I've brought about 20 suit/slacks/dress shirts to them over the past 2+ years and I've been satisfied with every one. I don't bother going anywhere else.
Top notch tailoring work. Fast and speedy service
Excellent service. A wee bit expensive but lovely staff and quality work! Worth it for a your lovely cloths.
I have been going to Oakridge Tailors for years.. About 14 to be precise. Joy and William are kind, knowledgeable, and very skilled in what they do. They have hemmed my pants, altered my dresses for me and the dresses now fit like it was custom made for me. Great people to do business with, and convenient location with free parking right in front. Joy and William are a pleasure to deal with. Oakridge Tailors will be my tailor shop for life, highly recommended!
Went to them in summer and got some dresses I bought fitted to me. yes a bite pricy however the quality and attention to detail is fantastic. They have pride and knowledge and are a great pair. Joy and I am allergic to dogs so the day I went back they made sure the dog not near me. |how thoughtful and considerate sorry for the delay thank you
Very friendly and nice service
Very nice couple and good job. For more comprehensive work, I go further out of the city for better value for money, but these guys are excellent for my smaller jobs (e.g. pant alterations).
William and his wife are fantastic tailors. Worth what they charge for. They know what they are doing and they take great care of your garments. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with expensive garments. I have brought them my Thom Browne, John Elliott, Acne Studios, Sandro, and many more just to name a few.
awesome service as usual; quick and reasonable pricing. J&W have a new home just down the street in 2017 - Cambie & 48th :)
Perfect the first time, every time.
William is awesome, super personable and funny. He helped us expedite our garment and pants and did such an excellent job, perfect fit! He insists on personally tailor every customers’ clothing himself or with his wife. This keeps the quality consistent and guaranteed. Lovely people here, and very trust-worthy. If you’re looking for a tailor, don’t doubt it just come!
Fast, reliable, clean, and professional work.
Superb tailoring and helpful advice
Great service and attention to detail. Took expensive suits here and they did an amazing job. A lot of clients trust their expensive garments with them and I can see why. Very skilled tailors. They are quite expensive for the work they do but the quality of job done and attention to detail is very worth the price. The only fault on not having 5 stars, is the turn around time. It took me three weeks to get my suit and two pants back. But you can look at it as business that is in super high demand and too many jobs to complete. My friend lives upstairs and even late at night when leave, I can still see a light on with the owners tirelessly working the night away. Highly recommended.
Unbelievably good. Compliment your wardrobe and go to a professional like Oakridge Tailors. They know what they are doing. Returning Customer. Rob
True old-world service with thoroughly modern tailoring.
Been using these guys for over 7 years. Never left disappointed. Prices are not on the cheap side but still worth every penny.
Was ok, took 4 days to cut the jeans...but price was good
Always great service and they do they’re best to get the items repaired as fast as possible!
Awesome people doing awesome job.
Great job
Not a good experience with my jeans. The hemming on the bottom of the legs is awful - who ever cut the jeans to hem them, made the leg bottoms look crooked and angled. I wouldn't even give it one star if I had the choice
These two are the most amazing couple. They really take care of you and are really personable. I came to get my wedding reception dress altered and I went to pick it up and was so so happy with it, it looked absolutely perfect. Meanwhile, I was having a huge issue with a different tailor that was altering my wedding ceremony dress and was so distraught. I asked Oakridge Tailors if they could help me based on the amazing job on the wedding reception dress. He said it depended on how bad it was but to bring it to them and they could take a look. My wedding dress ended up being ruined by the other tailor, so I brought it in so they could take a look. Oakridge Tailors were so genuinely concerned for me and told me they could help. They instructed me to go find more lace so we could add a cuff to my sleeves that would make it longer and look more professional (the previous tailors did the wrong length on the sleeves, among other errors...) Then as they were trying to figure out how to put the cuff on they noticed a couple other things that could be fixed and did that, which I am super grateful for. I am really happy with how it turned out and my dress looked way better after their help. I highly recommend this place!
The best in Vancouver
They are not cheap. However, if you need quality alterations for your expensive clothing, this is the best place I know.
They ruined my brand new dress!!! I brought it in to get it altered (wanted it shortened in length and the waist raised). The alternations were so bad that when I came in to try on the dress, the waist was only raised on the front panel and they tightened the dress in the process! I can barely zip up the dress. When I mentioned this, I was told that maybe I gained weight! I was quite offended and replied that it is highly unlikely that in the last 7 days I have gained enough weight to have a dress that was comfortably loose turn tight! That would be a 10 lbs weight gain in one week! Further more, the mismatched alteration (waist only raised on the front panel of dress not the back) caused the back panel of the dress to form pleats (loose fabric). I was told that I "agreed" to the alteration so they will have to charge me to fix the "new" problems. I tried the dress on for them and told them exactly what I wanted done. At no point to I recall saying only raise the waist on the front of my dress. They said that this was one of the "potential" problems with the alteration. I replied that I should have been informed that they were only going to alter the front of the dress and let the back gape. I would not have agreed to the alteration. I was told that to fix the new problem it would be another $60. I already had paid them $60 for the initial alteration. My brand new dress is ruined and I cannot wear it. I will have to find another tailor who is competent and not rude. I was very polite but was met with a rudeness. Telling a customer that they have gained significant weight in 7 days is unacceptable. I took my dress and left. There is no way I was going to let them charge me for their alteration error. What kind of business does that to a customer. Very disappointed in the service and quality of alterations.
Incredibly detail oriented and clean work. Time for alterations is about to be expected for a slightly busier tailor, and prices slightly above average. For example, I paid $50 to repair the lining of my trench coat. You can trust this place for big jobs and good clothing, as they have never messed up an order in my experience. Parking is limited as it is streetside, but it is near transit. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays and the hours aren't super early or late. I'd recommend coming here for anything you absolutely need to be done to a very high quality standard.
Lots of different alterations including fixing a tear in the shoulder of my suit jacket that I thought was irreparable. Everything has turned out exactly as I expected or better. They have been honest about alterations that are unreasonable and I value their skills and opinions. Highly recommended!!
Good workmanship ... Came here multiple times, Everytime I wasn't disappointed. A bit pricey but ya get what you pay for.
Great service and good prices. I come here for all of my tailoring. They are a fantastic couple.
Was greeted by the owner's wonderful dog and had my measurements taken right away. I had an expensive pair of jeans that needed to be tapered and didn't want to skimp elsewhere. It's definitely a little pricier than most, however, the quality and service were fantastic. Not to mention - there is a Chatime next door! I'll be back!
Expensive but the quality is really good. Had 2 pairs of jeans tapered here. I did them separately so the fit is slightly different but I'm still satisfied with the work.
Worth every penny with this tailor. Tried to save a buck in another tailor but ended up going back to him. Best in the lower mainland.
Over priced, not worth it.
William and Joy are hands down the best in the city. A bit pricier than most other tailors but very much worth it.
They hemmed my dress for 50 dollars, cheaper than I had expected! Very clean place. Unfortunately they dont fix backpack tears.
I haven’t used this business’ service. This location is not to be confused with the location in oakridge mall. Which is what happened when I posted the review. The oakridge mall tailor should be avoided if you value service that understands delivering on deadlines
Very kind, non judgemental and an incredibly quick turn around. Might be a little pricy for students but it was worth it considering how great of a job they did!
$35 for a basic hem on basic pants. What a rip off!! Save your money and go else where.
Always great service. Great turn around. Wonderful work. Would recommend A++! Love the new space.
