I can’t recommend A & B Tailor shop enough! At the start of the year I found out my partner’s father was very ill and we decided to get married quickly so he could be there. I didn’t have enough time to order a regular wedding dress nor did I see anything that really suited me. I called A & B and they were able to rush me the dress of my dreams. Then covid hit and put a hitch in our plans and I lost a considerable amount of weight and we had to start from scratch and A & B were so helpful with everything. They told me exactly what I needed to bring them in terms of fabric, lining, and zippers and made the dress based on a quick drawing I did. They bent over backwards to make sure my dress way ready on time even though I hadn’t given them much time. I can’t get over the level of quality of my dress too. They are probably the most skilled tailors I’ve worked with. I can’t wait to come back and have them make more clothing for me and alter things I already have.

They threw your box away after they finished threading! This is the worst thing happened and I need my box back, it's a graduate dress and the box really mean something to me, and it's a good container to keep the dress. BUT THEY THREW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a bridesmaids dress altered here (hemmed, and sides taken-in under the arms). I got a call the day of pick up asking that I come later than planned, and when I did pick it up, it was sitting crumpled on a shelf, which resulted in wrinkles. Initially the hem looked good, but when I took the wrinkles out, the dress was still too long. I also discovered that in removing the marks that they had made for the hem, they had left the dress discoloured in places. The only thing reasonably priced and well done was the work on the sides of the dress (well stitched and even on both sides). I have had alterations done on other dresses elsewhere and this has been my least satisfactory experience both quality and cost wise, (my graduation dress was far less simple due to many layers and materials, and the hem on it was the same cost).

I had a simple patch job done on my jacket that had a small hole in it. I contacted multiple tailors requesting an alteration service but unfortunately I was denied the service. The material was tricky to work with but it's so well done you can't imagine that it was altered. Jason immediately agreed and made an appointment. He is extremely respectful, polite and professional. Amazing tailoring, highly recommended!

I have had pants hemmed; coat sleeves shortened, skirt waists expanded, etc. The master tailor takes time measuring and adjusting to ensure the alteration is just right. I was pretty impressed with the quality of the work and the service. Their attention to details to me is worth mentioning. It looks great and fits me really perfect now. I will definitely be returning to them for any work that needs to be altered in future.

The absolute BEST tailors in Victoria! I came to them 24 hours at the last minute before a big event needing a dress altered as a previous tailor I had taken it to had done a horrible job. I went here for a routine button reattachment, and they pressed mine instead! I lay my coat on the table and show them where one fell off. I have the extra button for them and get told to come back in ten minutes. Ten minutes later when I have returned, I stand behind someone being helped, while being completely ignored by the staff. I get their attention and then I get told to pick up my coat on Wednesday .. Well today is Saturday, I say I was under the impression this could be done a minute and that its just one button and she tells me to come back in 20 minutes and draws X's all over my black wool coat in chalk. Why? Idk.. So I come back twenty minutes later, grab my coat with the new button attached overlooking the fact I dont get offered a reciept and promptly get the hell out of there, cleaning chalk reminents off all the way too my car. Now that I am home, I just realized they didn't actually use the button I provided to them, instead I got one a small greyish one!! I have fairly controllable ocd but one small button just won't work. Tomorrow I will try my luck with getting a refund and have the original button returned to me without a receipt, with whole new staff. TLDR: The staff is lazy, they dirty your blacks with chalk for fun, forget they were servicing people and don't even pay attention to their customers, nevertheless the customers requests.

Was charged $50 for a zipper replacement. Received the item back with the pull tab on the wrong side and with unconvincing work all down the sides like in my picture. Would not visit again.

It is with regret that we find ourselves recommending that you do NOT enter into any agreement for tailoring at A&B Tailors in Victoria, BC. We have been in a legal struggle with A&B for over a year now to obtain a refund on our deposit for fitted suit which they were unable to produce to our satisfaction or to the standards they agreed to. We have endeavoured to find a settlement through direct negotiation, through assistance from the Better Business Bureau, through a successful tribunal adjudication and now through the small claims court. Mr Purewal has lied and stalled and ignored the rulings of the court and stubbornly clings to his decision not to return our deposit. We intend to be reimbursed. We recommend that you do not shop with A&B Tailors in Victoria BC

24 hour quality suit "I visited A & B Tailor Shop with a request for a suit the following evening. He was able to arrange this with a jacket fitting the first evening, pants fitting the next day and full final viewing a couple hours later. Hi, I picked up my dress for my sister wedding today and I am more than disappointed... when we pinned the dress at first, the lady and I agreed on what has to be done. After charging me $210 to adjust a $90 dress on me, I expected at least some quality in the work. The bottom of the dress is still way to big... the girl told me she did it but I am totally sure she did not... it's impossible because it totally look the same as before... Now I still need to pay for my dress to be done... You've just been stealing $210 out of my pocket freely with nothing in return. That's a SHAME!!

I've been coming to this place since i don't know for how many years and they have always done a great job on my garments no matter what the issue has been, from a torn faux leather jacket to putting a new zipper on my cheap little purse to sewing the holes in my favourite wool gloves and to hemming endless pants for my five feet frame as well taking in boxy looking tunics. It seems alterations are never ending if you are very petite like me and so I for one, am very grateful for this incredibly talented, as well as friendly and efficient team of tailors.

I brought in a suede jacket to have 2 buttons moved. They sewed the buttons tight to the suede without any slack so of course the button hole in the suede could not go over the button. The original buttons were done properly right beside the buttons that had to be moved. This is such a basic sewing thing that I was stunned and had to make an extra trip to have it fixed.

Took a new dress in - need shoulder straps & neck strap taken in. They took in too much on shoulders & neck strap and the neck strap - the buttons were considerably off centre (by 2")! They tried a 2nd time - lengthened the shoulder straps fine - but didn't lengthen neck strap. Finally - 3rd time - they lengthened the neck strap, but because they had cut off too much material - it's patched. It's time I left it with them - they required a week to complete alterations. 3 weeks and $54 later..... it's altered correctly - but with a patchwork neck piece. Not going back.

Quality Tailoring, Quick Service My 19 year old son got a custom suit from A & B Tailor Shop during our 5 day trip to Victoria, BC, Canada and he was very pleased. He received a lot of compliments from his co-workers. We visited the store as soon as we arrived at Victoria. They took measurements and we picked the suit materials. We returned to the store 2 days later. The jacket fitted perfectly and the pants needed some adjustments which were done the next day. The price was very reasonable compared to the price in Victoria, BC, Canada. It was amazing to know how fast a custom suit can be made. If we return to Victoria, my son will definitely get another suit.

Be aware, once these guys have your money, if you change your mind they're still keeping your money. Even if it's only been 20 minutes and your clothes have done nothing but hang on the rack. Powerfully poor customer service in that respect. There are alternatives. These guys will never get my money again.

Great Tailoring! Went to the A & B Tailor shop on a friend recommendation and was extremely happy with the results! Got two dresses, a suit, two dress shirts and a jacket and every piece was adjusted to perfection! (You have to be willing to go back for a couple of fittings) It was by far the best tailor I have ever been to! Mike has a lot of experience and gave me expert recommendation on what would work well for the ideas I had. Will definitely come back the next time !!!

Had a suit tailored here. It took a day longer than expected, which wasn't a big deal. The pants turned out great but the jacket looks worse now. They caused the shoulders to bunch up creating an asymmetrical ridged look. It would have been better had they not touched the shoulders at all. However, their slimming of the jacket's waist turned out fine. All in all, the price and time spent did not match the quality.

Very unsatisfied. I recently brought in a new suit for tailoring. While removing the lining on the pants they cut visibly into the front of the pants. The staff told me there was nothing they could do, that i was to pay for the alterations and to call back when the owner was in. I called and she told me to bring the pants back in. I brought them back and asked for the shop to refund me for the repairs and cover the cost of a new pair if pants. I was told that because i could still wear the pants they were fine. They refunded the alterations and that was all. I will not be back. Terrible customer service. I frequently do alterations and will use the Russian Tailor or Gar Fong instead.

Definitely not happy with the work I had done at this shop. Was quoted $30 for altering two T-shirts, and ended up being charged $70 plus tax each. On pickup the work looked fine but definitely not worth $140. The real flaw showed up a couple of washes later, revealing that the shop had used sharp needles on jersey material which results in runs all along the altered seams, effectively ruining the shirts. I have since used other tailors in Victoria for other projects with far superior results and at a fragment of the cost. Do yourself a favour and choose another tailor shop.
