I bought an affordable suit for my wedding day and it didn't quite fit my frame perfectly. I took it to Stitch It at Metrotown and I was helped in a professional manner, I was asked for my opinion, and the woman (sorry, didn't get her name) also suggested I take the sleeves of the shirt and jacket up. My suit was ready for pickup sooner than expected, and the woman and James were there to greet me. James was wonderful, told me I looked like a whole new man, and packed my suit up for me. Wonderful service and outcome, and it was way more affordable than I had even imagined! I basically got a custom tailored suit for an amazing price, and experience. I've already referred a few friends to get their clothes altered there too

Been there many times. At first, about a couple years ago, they were fine but for some reason got worse. Their prices are way to high, sew an inner pocket $20 ? lol and I had it done from another tailor for $7. even with their coupons they give out wasn't worth it. It's too bad cause it was convenient but they have in the past had to redo some alterations they did on simple hemming. Once they forgot to sew a button on a suit jacket and I was departing on a trip. I ended up losing that button.

Depends on who you deal with. The light brunette/blonder skinny manager loves to charge you lots. Small patch work is medium, medium is large, etc. This has happened twice. Chalk mark for a patch is the size of my hand and the actual work is only palm size. Not impressed. 2020/06/17. garbage store. paranoid and not helpful. i highly suggest you go elsewhere. same staff member was not helpful and she was wearing so much protective gear that I could not hear a thing she was saying.

I took a blazer, a sweater dress and my handmade wedding dress here. Blazer and sweater dress came back fine. Wedding dress is destroyed! They tore the seams, left a needle in the dress with a threat attached. There’s also a hole in the dress. I’m hoping I can get a full refund. I Will never be going back here!! Went back to get my money back and the ladies there were very understanding, professional and apologetic. Thank you for trying to help me as best you can. I appreciate it.

Recently, I bought a new suit in Shoppers World for a wedding. ???????? Then, I walked briskly to this alteration place. One inside, I was warmly welcomed. I spoke to the sales associate of some things that I requested. The lady was very nice by helping and explaining what they were going to do. Days later, I return to pick up the suit. Pretty disappointed, I came to Stitch It at Chinook Centre to get an end of a karate belt stitched closed (as it was cut off a longer belt and was not finished on one end ) so that it would have a finished end. It has a 2” width to be stitched. I was told it would be $15 plus tax. I Chose not to get it done at that cost. I have used their services for other work but it seems that their prices fluctuate by whichever clerk takes your garment in.

I have always gone to the same tailor for years, she is a small mom pop shop that i can depend on, and over the years I have sent many people to her, long story short i always felt mall shops did not have that personal touch needed.... boy was i wrong. While i was traveling to Calgary for a wedding, i required some alterations to my suit, upon consulting with a local fashion consultant i was advised to visit Stitch It in chinook mall, I had my hesitation but i knew the work was easy and I did not question their competence. Pick up time for my suit was half a week out which was typical, however the timing of the pick up coincided with wedding dates and i was too busy to actually pick it up when it was ready (pick up date was friday, and event i needed for was on sunday) i squeezed in some time on saturday to get to the mall and pick up my suit where i was bombarded with disturbing news that they were in fact closed, and would remain closed until the following tuesday. At this point i would have been walking into this wedding in my boxers, and although it was a pleasant fall in calgary, it was still calgary. I called the store a few times with no answer (i even watched the phone ring through the glass door but still stayed on the line in some hope that a lonely shop keeper would turn on the lights and yell sike!) At this point i pulled a hail mary while driving to the wedding rehearsal - I emailed the Stitch it head office pleading for some help, and the unimaginable happened - i got an email back! it must have been 9pm on a Saturday, making it about 11pm EST where some one at corporate was smart enough to have emails forwarded to her phone. She emailed me back saying, she will contact the district manager, who will find me the right person and make some magic happen for this wedding. Thirty minutes later i got a call from a confused lady, to whom i explained the situation and she advised me she will come meet me first thing sunday morning (thanksgiving weekend) and open the store up for me so and assures me that this wedding will go on. Longgg story short... the fine folks at Stitch it CARE!

Craziest Experience! Hours before a wedding, a family member experienced a problem with her zipper on her dress and was desperate to find help. The three of us travelled and looked for places that were open, and fortunately found Stitch It. The woman there was wonderful and squeezed us in time for us to be able to make it to the wedding ceremony and fixed the zipper. This is one of the few times I came to in tailor my clothing and I have to say- if you are willing to communicate and pay, they do a good job for the price. I just wish I had a bit more reassurance in terms of the quality of the work (especially for pants) and I hope the price reflects that. But overall, cool place.

Expensive and I guess they’re always busy because they told me it would be one week til pick up, when I said I’ll go somewhere else they said I can pick up tomorrow. Over all I was dissatisfied with the service and I will not be taking back any clothing for alterations Came back an extra day after pick up was supposed to be, waited over 10 minutes for the lady to find my pants, she pulled them down and said they are not ready and I should come back in one hour. Pretty inconvenient since I only came to the mall to get my pants. Definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. You’re better off finding a small alteration place that doesn’t take on more than they can handle

Stitch it does a lot more then just clothing. My mother-in-law has rentals all over Brantford and she brings all her curtains to stitch it. Not only that, my mother-in-law had a BEAUTIFUL cushion made by Nasrin (manager at stitch it) she did a beautiful job! Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it.. BUT! I got one made BECAUSE of how well done and beautiful it was. I do not have a creative bone in my body so I brought all my material to Nasrin, and BAM! Beautiful cushion for my antique chest we are using as a bench! Thank you so much!

If I could give no stars I would. When I came to get my clothes there was no one there. I looked in the back and some guy was ironing with one hand and talking on the phone. When he finally came out he said he was on his break and handed me off to someone else.. She went in the back for ten minutes and came out and told me she couldn't find them. She told me to wander around the mall and she'd look for them. She called me back 20 minutes later and told me she found them but the hadn't been done yet. I'm sitting in the mall waiting for them to hem my clothes still.

Stitch it is great for really routine things like pant hems, taking in waists and jacket sleeves. I’ve not had luck with more complex things. Also timing can be an issue. If you need it fast, it is hit and miss. Sometimes they just don’t have capacity to turn it around quickly. Ask first.

I have never been spoken to more rudely in my life. I simply asked if my order was ready and customer service went in on me right away about not picking them up on time and obviously I missed the phone call and it was my fault for not following up. The pants were ready a day early and that's great, but I did not get a phone call so I'm not understanding why this is my fault as I am not sure why it was a big deal anyways. I was simply calling to check as I was off work and I got snapped at instantly then got lectured for speaking rudely when I was as professional as could be since I'm representing my company account. Not impressed and I won't be back. Whoever answered the phone at 1755 today June 30th, was rude and kept speaking over me. I had to continuously stop what I was saying until her ranting would stop so I could get a word in to simply say I'm looking at my call log and I didn't receive a call. Unreal! Unfortunate because my experience dropping my pants off was great.

Horrible customer service.. brought my sons uniforum pants in to be hemmed... the lady at the front was trying to get me to ge else where... she was trying to convince me that they were to busy for my business... recieved the pants back and in about 2 weeks the hemms were out and pants were trashed. Thank you!!! I called ahead on Saturday to repair a zipper on my Parka. Turns out there is more than one "Stitch It" in Metrotown (I mistakenly went to the location near Old Navy). Not only did they match the quote I was given, they also matched the timeframe (1 hr). Quite a feat when there was a line up and the were obviously slammed. I dont live on the mainland and didn't know a good tailor but needed my winter jacket fixed before heading back to the island. Not only were they kind and honest (price/time matching) they did an absolutely beautiful job, not a single stitch out of place! Thank you so very much!!!

I went here to get a new zipper for my winter coat. The lady who worked there was happy to accommodate (I didn't get her name, but she sounded European) and made suggestions that I was really happy with. The price was about $35 (cheaper than a new coat) and my coat was done in about 2 days. I was very happy! The lady was very nice on drop off and pick up and was happy to do what I asked. I would use them again! I don't know why the reviews are bad on here for this place. Maybe they changed Management or associates, because I was quite satisfied.

One day later I receive a notification that it is ready for pickup! I tried it once back home and I am delighted. They did a great job and even did extra work on the garments to make it look neat. So I brought it back and the lady a Chinese lady said that she would fixed it and she did when she gave it back to me she said "NEXT TIME DONT COME AND COMPLAINT LIKE RHAT TO GET A FREE JOB DONE " I WAS SO UPSET IM STILL UPSET I told her that I have the money to pay her that I don't need to complaint to get something for free . She said that the job done before costed 5 bucks when I actually paid $11 . After getting upset and telling her if she liked it I would pay it she stayed quiet . You have a store because of us the customers . If you tratt your custstcus like that what can we expect from the service . I would never come back here . I wish I would have never been. I would have preferred to pay those 11 dollars to someone to treat their customers better . Be careful people don't even bother to go there .

I have gone to many tailors and alteration shops over the years, and I would definitely have to say that most experiences were lacklustre, at best. The first time that I tried out Stitch-it, inside of Metrotown, I had just picked up a few jackets and pants from around the mall, all of which required a number of alterations. Blindly trusting tailors that I have never worked with before was a stretch for me, but the convenience was too good to pass up. I had three items of designer clothing that were damaged - A pair of jogger pants, a hoodie and a henley tee shirt. Both tops had some holes in the front which was caused by a belt buckle hooking on to them. The jogger pants ripped while I was rushing to change at the gym. I can't even rate this poorly run establishment one star. My boyfriend and I went in to get 3 pairs of identical jeans hemmed and were promptly told "no" by the young lady behind the counter. She proceeded to be rude and devoid of any customer service capability. Needless the jeans will be getting altered elsewhere. It is clear that before she attempts to gain any customer loyalty, let alone satisfaction, she needs to ALTER her attitude and learn a thing or several about customer service.

I went here to have jeans taken in, upon arrival the lady said that I could not have them taken in from he inside hem as it was, "not possible" so I let her take them in from the outside against my better judgment and sure enough upon my return they still needed to be taken in more but FROM THE INSIDE, but this time a different lady said, "oh sure we can do that but it'll be another $20 because its different then what we did before". This review is for a past experience I had, it has been awhile but it still gets me how dishonest they were. I went here to get a dress altered and while discussing with one of the employees the best way to have it altered, they recommended it be taken in at both sides. They did mention that it would be more expensive to do it this way since there was a zipper on the one side but we both agreed it was really the only way to make it look the best. When I went to pick it up I paid the higher price and when I got home I noticed they only took it in one one side (the non zipper side). I should have went back but I know that my issue would have been brush aside. I paid $50 for one of the seamstress / seamster to cut corners. "Honesty is the keystone of business". I'll never go back

I ordered a dress online for a Christmas party and when it arrived a few days before the party I realized that it would need to be altered before I wore it. I googled 'alteration' services in Burlington and found 'Stitch It' in the mall but was worried that I was giving to little of a turn around time to have my dress altered in time. The ladies in the store were very kind and reassured me they could alter my dress and have it finished in less than 48 hours. All 3 of the ladies who were working were very kind and made me feel confident that I would have a dress to wear this Friday. I just called and my dress is ready to be picked up! My friend and I had two bridesmaids dresses altered. One only required hemming for too much length; turned out acceptable. Second dress.. we had a sash removed along with hemming. The first time we returned to grab the dresses.. there was a stain & the sash removal wasn't done very well.. The lines didn't match up & there were still strings sticking out. The bottom "frill" was sewn into the dress. Understandable the first time. Benefit of the doubt. Pandemic has everyone off their game. The second time we went to pick up the "fixed" dress.... there was still a frill or layer (will attach picture) sewn into the dress. Stain was removed though.. (She made sure to make that very clear.) The same mistake twice, or it wasn't fixed the first time? Took 30 minutes for the 3rd attempt & it's now passable. As a brand new mom with a tiny baby.... the multiple trips weren't easy, even with the two of us. We were offered 10 percent off our next alteration for our troubles & a very passive "sorry." I'm so glad that it seems most people have had a good experience here.. just wasn't the case for us sadly.

I actually live in downtown and I go to Metrotown specially to get my alterations done there as I trust their quality of work and honestly don't want to risk ruining expensive clothing on a botched alteration somewhere else. P.S. Most of my alterations have been complex in nature (e.g. shortening of coat sleeves, narrowing pants opening, etc.)

I have been using Stiches Chinook for well over 15 years. They have always been friendly, professional and respectful. But what I appreciate most is their honesty - if it can't be done, they let you know rather than give you unreasonable expectations. I have heard any people get very angry with them if they can't get their new jeans hemmed in 15 minutes or angry that their favorite jacket can't be made 2 inches longer. Yes, they can be busy at times but that is a reflection of their excellent work - best businesses usually are busy. Amazing experience as always! They always have fair prices and always done on time if not ahead of schedule. On Saturday Dec 1, 2018 the woman working at the store was incredible, there was a very rude man that came in swearing and throwing receipts around because his order wasn't ready at 2pm for his 4pm pickup. The same man stormed off and repeated the same behavior today when requesting money back, this happened as I was arriving to pickup my jacket (ahead of schedule I may add). End of story, this place is amazing and very polite, even when people treat them horribly they show nothing but respect back to them. 5 star business.

I took a dress in couple weeks ago to get the arms shortens and the sides of the waist taken in. The lady's name is Julie (emp#334899). She told me the cost is $60 so I paid and left. When I came to pick up the dress (silky material), there were damages (nits and scrapes) all over the dress (front, back, arms, everywhere). Not only that, the alterations were so poorly executed. The arms weren't straight. They were all wonky. The seams don't line up. I honestly can't believe how horrible it is. I told her i was not happy with it and there were damages all over the dress. This dress was over $300. Her response was, "you said this was a cheap dress, so I gave you cheap discount." Firstly, I never said those words. She was making stuff up to cover up her mistakes. She told me to come in on Tuesday to talk to her manager. Overall, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANY EXPENSIVE GARMENTS. The lady that helped me was not professional. She raised her voice, she was defensive, she denied the damages and was absolute ZERO help at all. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

The staff here need an update on customer service. Went in to pick up dry cleaning and was passed off the first time because the employee was going on break, the second lady who helped me wasn’t pleasant and just threw the pick up receipt in front of me and said “this is not paid for”. She then said she wasn’t able to use the moneris to process payment and I had to wait for someone else. While I was waiting the moneris made a beeping sound and the third lady ( name is Amanda) that was doing alterations came and slammed the moneris on the counter loud enough for people to make comments about it. She did not say one word about the wait, nothing but throwing her payment machines on her counter and then walked away. It took about 10 minutes for me to finally pay. This in itself was enough to make me never go back there, but then I looked through my dry cleaning. They had left a receipt on on of my tags from Fisherman’s Personal Care Cleaners where they were charged $50 for the dry cleaning service. I was charged $96. They don’t do dry cleaning in house and they mark it up by crazy amounts. One of my white dresses is also ruined from dry cleaning (makeup was on the collar and nowhere else, this dress somehow came back with a full sleeve turned yellow). Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. Terrible customer derive and crazy markups. My business will definitely be taken somewhere else.

I had a dress that was too long and the bust was way to big, when I tried it on so they could pin it for alterations he kept pulling it down so the waist would sit on my hips and telling me that the bust was not too big (because of the way he was pulling it down) Was only willing alter the length but wouldn't let me sit the waist of the dress on my actual waist so I couldn't see what the actual length would be, so I couldn't even get an accurate length alteration.

Awful place, I came in to get a dress altered and the I told the lady to take it in more at the wasit so that it wasn’t a straight seam all the way down. When she pinned it I thought she did that but once I picked it up when it was ready a week and a couple of days later I tried it on and she clearly didn’t listen to me as it was a altered to a small straight seam. I paid 28 dollars (a ridiculous amount for them to not listen to be a just take in two side seams). My dress is now ruined as it looks horrible on me and frankly I don’t want anything to do with place. Don’t waste your money, go some place where the people actually care about the clothes you’re giving to them and don’t charge you ridiculous prices.

I went to get a dress altered here based on the previous reviews, but was really disappointed. Although my alteration was finel, Stitch It was overpriced and understaffed, and the customer service was terrible. I was charged $33 to have a dress taken up a few inches, which generally hasn't cost me more than $20 in the past. When I dropped off the dress and when I picked it up, there was only one staff member at the front. This person was responsible for pinning, ringing customers through and fetching items for pick-up. I saw at least two people working in the back, but neither offered to help customers despite the fact that there were at least three people in line both when I dropped off and picked up the dress. When another customer in line attempted to ask one of the staff members in the back a quick question about turnaround times, he didn't answer, but motioned for the customer to ask the staff member working in front. I waited around 20 minutes to pick up the dress, which should have taken no more than two minutes as I had already paid for the alterations. I politely mentioned this to the staff member working up front, noting that my wait was probably not his fault but asking if he could pass my complaint on to management. Instead of apologizing or agreeing to pass the message along, he stared mutely at me. Although I have no complaints about the actual alteration, I won't be going back to Stitch It and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else as long as customers are treated at a level below even the bare minimum of politeness.

LOWEST QUALITY OF STITCHING YOU CAN EVER SEE! I paid $42 to get dress cut shorter! The dress length was the same but the worst part of it is that the stitching was ripping off! Like it does not look the same as the original stitching! I had to take it to Metrotown Alterations where I had to pay another $60 to get it done right! They did a better job. I went back to stitch it to have it re done again and I needed the dress to be picked up the next day but they declined my request and said the earliest is Saturday but my party is Friday. They expected me to MOVE MY PARTY TO SATURDAY SO THEY CAN FIX MY DRESS! I was at AWE! Anyway this shop is ridiculous never again!!!!!!

I gave a three because of the price almost 200.00 for both coats which was extremely expensive honestly. They finished the job on time and both jackets had no issues. Incredibly disappointed. I came here to get a broken zipper replaced on my favorite pants, and now they're unwearable. They were my favorite pants because they fit me perfectly, and now thanks to Stitch It they are way too tight, uncomfortable, and completely unflattering. They somehow cinched in the waist of the pants about an inch. I even lost weight in the week the pants were getting fixed and they're STILL too tight now. I have to throw them away. So mad. I should've just done it myself.

We had asked if Stitch it could do alterations to a new pet coat we purchased online. The seamstress told us she wasn’t sure they could do it but told us to bring it in and we would go from there. Our seamstress told us it was a big job but she said she would do it, we were very please and she said it would be ready by Jan 4, 22 we were good with this, our seamstress understood as she was a pet owner too. Well I just want to say we got the coat back earlier than expected (Ready by Dec 28th)and the work done was excellent, you would never know that alterations were made, we are very please and would definitely recommend this Stitch it location to everyone ….we’ll be bringing all our future alterations and repair work here for sure

I can highly recommend "Stitch It" for any clothing repairs or alterations. I had quite a few garments fixed at this place, including sleeve shortening, re-hemming of jeans and tailored pants, jacket repairs, and taking in waist on several garments, and all the time the quality was amazing. Also, "Stitch It" offers very reasonable prices, and they do the job extremely quickly (often quicker than estimated). Both James and the lady working with him (I'm terribly sorry that I don't remember her name) are very friendly, professional, and willing to help/listen to customers' needs, in my experience. All in all, I'm extremely happy with the service and will not go elsewhere next time I need a tailor's help.

Went there to get sleeves shortened on 2 blazers that my husband just bought aND paid a lot of money for. They charged 80 for the blazers which is fine if they did the job properly. They did such a cappy job. Pretty much just folded the sleeve and made a stitch on the inside (no longer a slit on the sleeve and you can see the stitch on the inside) . We were told they could fix it but the stitching around the buttons couldn't be done because they didn't have the machine to do that stitching (you would think "stitch it" would have such things) . We didn't trust them to fix it, we didn't want them to ruin it further so we asked for a refund. The only good thing is that they gave us a full refund but now we have to take it to a place that knows what they are doing and hopefully it can be fixed.

Today, Hana, at the Stitch it in Burlington Centre saved me! My sons uniform pants for school needed to be hemmed, but he’s been wearing his shorts, so this momma forgot all about the pants. Well, I checked the weather and it’s supposed to go into the negatives this week. Oops. Brought my sons pants over around 1:30pm this afternoon, telling Hana that as quick as possible would be great, I got a call at 4pm, saying they were done! Very unsatisfied with the way my dress was altered. Will be trying to go back to get it altered the way it should have been done on the first try! I asked for a bridesmaid dress to be hemmed (I paid almost $80 to get this done!!!!) . I had came in with the shoes I was going to be wearing for the event to ensure the sizing would be the closest to accuracy, but the end result did not turn out right. I picked up the dress 2 days before the event, I tried it out and it was still way too long. They didnt have enough time to fix my dress before the wedding so I used the dress during the mean time, and had to hold my dress up at most times and found myself at times stepping on it while walking. For paying this amount of money, you would think its done properly on the first time. Even If they fixed my dress properly, I will never go back. If you are looking for a place to get an alteration, please save your time and money and look elsewhere.
