You must come here for all your tailoring needs. We were referred here by a suit shop associate. We would never have known this place was here otherwise as it's tucked away in a small corridor near Richmond Center. Walter is so kind and loves to chat. We got my boyfriend's pants taken out on the spot. We had such a good time talking to Walter. He has been doing this for 49 years and you can tell how skilled he is by the way he speaks and the equipment he uses. Don't waste your time with in store tailoring or the overpriced places in the mall. Go to Walter the Tailor for quick quality service.

I procrastinated getting my suit tailored for an event I have this weekend. Ran in during my lunch break and he told me he could have it done for me the same evening. He was very polite, very hospitable, thanked me for choosing him. I came back after work to pick up the suit. I commented in the passing that the legs were too short. Very unprofessional. When I arrived he told me it was 70 dollars to repair the knee in a 100 dollar pair of pants. Then when I didn't agree he then asked me to name a price. We agreed on 40 and he demanded I pay him before the job was finished . I took my business else where and got the same job done for 18 dollars. I will not be back and wouldn't recommend his service to anyone.

Walter the Tailor.... time efficient and cost efficient. Consistent with all the other positive reviews.... however, there was this one thing that I hadn’t been warned of, so did not expect.... The Tailor has a sense of humor - Walter the Entertainer. And if you’re so lucky you may even catch him in one of his darker moods. And unlike most others Walter actually appreciates if you can come in later rather than earlier - preferably 7/8ish. He said it’s a bit quiet at night, so he likes the extra company, and from a practical perspective he did mention having someone to check in to make sure he’s still alive. Opening hours are until 9pm.

I appreciated the fact that I was told to bring my two pants that needed repairs to another location because this place charges higher prices, however I did NOT enjoy the fact that I was condescendingly told to “be a real man and bring a suit.” He says he has “+50 years of skill” however he definitely does not seem to have a day of experience in the customer service department. I would recommend to bring your other simpler tailoring needs elsewhere; if you have a suit and are “a man,” then I guess this is the place for you

This guy is really genuine. He's friendly and honest. So honest that ,while I was waiting in his shop, he even turned down a customer telling him that it's not a good idea to alter the suit since it was good quality and he'll grow into it. I got priced for double of what other tailors would cost for tapering of jacket sleeves and pants, after I agreed *since he measured my suit already* he tried to push me for rush service for another $20. I answered no and he insisted for me to pay the extra $20 dollars because " he needed money and he had to pay rent". The rent of the owner is not the responsibility of the customer, the whole grumpy service was not pleasant. I would not recommend this to any of my friends.

I had a leather jacket with holes in the pockets...wear and tear..but the original cotton fabric was thin and weak anyway. I was visiting my family on vacation a few months ago and brought the jacket to Walter and asked if he could have a look. He quoted me a fair price and I asked if he could have it ready before my flight back home. Walter said he could do the work as requested and when I came back to pick it up, he did an outstanding job. The pocket fabric is silky smooth fabric but also much tougher quality than the flimsy cotton that was originally stiched in there. I'm very impressed. His craftmanship really shines. Highly highly recommend. I'm leaning towards saving any stitch work for Walter for when I visit my family in the future. ????

Little worried at frist I was reccomend by Morse to come here. Never checked the reviews on google before going till after the fact and I can strongly say that its different a 5 star place. Your not going to a fancy store but what you will find is a hidden gem. I am differently coming back to these friendly people! Bring cash. I took my expensive coat to Walter. For the amount of work needed to be done and finishing quality, I will definitely go back to visit him. He will be my new fav tailor! I'm very picky with my garment alteration. Walter is very knowledgeable and fast too. For all these years, just found out there is a great tailor near me... face palm...

THIS TAILOR IS SO RUDE. I walked out of his shop. First I called and asked if he could help me tailor my pants before I left for vacation and he said yes just come here. It took me 20 minutes to find the location. Then when I got there he was so rude and said I can't do it go somewhere else. When I asked him for the breakdown of cost he threw my pants back in my bag and pushed me outside the store. I work in customer service and I've never been treated so poorly
