I have been going to John The Tailor for over a decade, and when Amir Haidari took over from John, I was greeted with a kind welcome and admirable introduction from the new master tailor. He took the time to verse me in the complexities of pattern making, and bespoke crafted suits. I spent two hours in his shop getting to know him the first day he moved in. I was astonished to hear his story and how he's been in the business since he was a teenager (30+ years) crafting his tailoring excellence. I like to follow the old adage of "you get what you pay for", and to have the former head master tailor from Harry Rosen cutting my suits to measure, the price is more then fair for exceptional craftsmanship and an understanding of how to form my posture and silhouette to compliment my body shape the best. Every suit I purchase, new or second hand, will always be cut and measured by Amir as he is the only skilled master tailor I want to be fitted by. His attention for detail, and ability to properly price the work I request. He always makes sure my vision, accompanied by his eye for a quality bespoke request, makes for a consistent and elevated level of sartorial aesthetic. Up front printed and detailed reasonably price quote if you ask, if not they have their printed price list and will charge you accordingly. One of the city's best and most experienced tailor shops. The alterations are masterful. You get what you pay for here. Amir is able to even extend the life of a suit by adjusting the fitting so that its look is not dated. Also offers bespoke suits. Would not take my suit alterations anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Brought a dress here to have taken in. The quality of the job they did was 100% and the lady I dealt with was great. Only giving 4 stars because the price was steep I thought. Costed over $65 to have the dress taken in; whereas it costed me that same price to have 4 dresses taken in at another tailor place DT, but the quality wasn't as good as this place.

Very helpful, great at eyeing up what needs to be done with your fit. Polite, straightforward, and talented. Prices were exactly in the middle of what I expected, not cheap but not exorbitant. If I ever need tailoring done again, I will certainly return.

This is the best tailor shop in town. I've had a couple of pairs of pants altered here a couple of years ago and they did an amazing job with very reasonable prices. I wanted to have my tweed jacket shortened this time. Amir did a marvellous job again. The jacket was originally split at the back and he made that disappear. He moved the hand pockets up to maintain proportions for the new shorter length. The new seams were invisible. He's such a friendly fellow and actually remembers my name from the single visit over 2 years ago. The turnaround time was prompt and the work was fantastic.

I was looking for a new tailor because my usual one's quality has really gone down and I found John the Tailor. I've brought in several different dresses over the past couple of months: a flowy maxi dress, satin slip and a double layer bridesmaid dress with a slit. I had them all hemmed and I'm really happy with the quality and consistency. The stitches are very neat and strong with no loose threads sticking out. From now on I'm only taking my clothes that need altering here because I can trust it will be done correctly, on time and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend!

I have never dealt with such a bad businessman. He goes back on all agreed quotes even when the agreed price is in writing then withholds products that have been paid for! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Horrible experience!!!! I dropped a shirt off for repair, a small elbow patch needed to be sewn in. I was given a receipt showing it could be picked up in one weeks time. When I came by 8 days later at the listed 10am Friday opening time no one was at the store. Three other customers were also waiting but left by 10:20am. I waited until 10:40am and that’s when John strolls in to open the business, un-cracked Tim Hortons coffee in hand. He wasted others and my time today, making me late for an apt, yet had time to get himself a coffee knowing he’s close to an hour late in opening his store. No apology, asking what he could help me with not remembering our conversation from the week before. My shirt wasn’t even started on, a day longer from when it was supposed to be ready. I took my shirt and left, telling him this review would be made. I talked to a couple neighbouring business’s on my way out of the mall, they confirmed he is late often (the barber shop and shoe repair store). John the Tailor doesn’t seem to value the time of others.

I was introduced to John the tailor through a coworker and I am so glad that I was . I've always thought all tailors are the same , until i met John . John has tailored a few of my suites and I can honestly say they fit like they were designed specifically for me . His work is of a master tailor and it shows . I have never been more happy with the way my clothes fit . He has completely changed my game and the way I dress . Not only is his work absolutely fantastic, but he's also an honest and fair man. There has been times where I have brought him some of my older suits , and he was honest enough to tell me that the material that my suite was made of , would not be worth it to get it tailored . John makes sure I look perfect but also looks out for me with his honesty and fairness . I can now say have a new tailor for life . He is well worth it to give him a try , I can promise you there will nothing but joy after leaving his store .

Ordered a custom shirt. Amir said six weeks, which was fine, because I was going overseas in eight weeks. It took nine weeks. He refused to ship it to me, and didn't bother to inform me of this, so it sat in his shop for another month, while I waited for it to arrive. I had to get a relative to pick it up and stuff it in an envelope for me. The shirt looks great, and I'm sure whoever's measurements he used would look great in it. Unfortunately, they weren't my measurements, as the collar is a full two inches bigger than my neck, and the French cuffs are a bit sloppy, with the link holes half an inch too far out from my wrists, and the cuff width correspondingly too wide (only one of my suit jackets has arm holes wide enough for the cuffs, and just barely). Two stars for nice workmanship, although I would have preferred that the shoulder panel were a single piece, rather than the split panel I got. I can probably wear it out to a club, but the amount of slack in the neck would make it look ridiculous with a tie.
