With the many options available for soon-to-be parents looking to register their baby shower, we decided to go with Buy Buy Baby - South Common. As overwhelming as their product lines can appear at first glance, it was our consultant (whose name I will update the moment I find it) who provided an incredible degree of patience and knowledge which made the whole experience very simple and informative. She was polite and didn't waste our time with unnecessary suggestions for the sake of padding our list with extra items. The result was a well planned and comprehensive list of supplies, toys, clothes and other gear that will make parenthood that much more manageable. A great store, with great staff. Highly recommend. I will caution users of their registry service to make sure that their account is applied properly. Our registry was opened on their U.S. website by mistake, which led to some initial confusion as it was not accessible via with the number we were provided, but this was soon resolved by their customer service department.

NOT IMPRESSED!! I knew I wanted a Ergobaby carrier so that was why I came here. Would have been great to get service and had help as I was trying to try them on and had questions. But there was no one around to ask or anyone checking in on me... Then as we were leaving I was looking over my bill because something felt off even after getting other items it was quite expensive. Because the carrier I bought was over $50 more then they had on the display!!! So I took it back immediately... They said oh I don't know why it scans that way so they returned it scaned it in and it still was scanning incorrect so they price adjusted it to resell it back. Which means the barcode is scanning incorrect and they are just doing that because I noticed. So watch as they scan things in because that tells me the floor model still is not labeled right. If people don't keep or check there receipts or items as they are getting scanned in are getting scammed! Save your money and shop Amazon in my opinion you might not get to try things on but hey they are good with returns and it's way cheaper...

Not recommended!! Extremely shady management at this store and potential safety issues with the “clearance” items. The manager sold my husband an unsafe mamaroo at a small discount telling us that it was in perfect working order and simply missing the box. We brought it home and put our 2 month old daughter in it to discover that it was clunky and the seat tilted during movement almost dumping her out on the floor. Thankfully we were both right there to stop the movement and lift her out. The manager had also assured my husband that mamaroo would simply replace the item “no problem” should we have any concerns. We contacted mamaroo and got the response in the photo. The item was not only outdated but was either a return or floor model - the manager had lied and told us neither of these were true. During the same visit the manager also attempted to sell my husband a clek foonf car seat at $100 off because the box had been “damaged”. This seems extremely shady to me since car seats can possibly mean life or death to a child if a car accident occurs. Unknown damage may have been done to this car seat making it unsafe and this store is trying to sell this to parents!! Of note, clek requires you to purchase a new car seat and dispose of the old one for ANY car accident - I would assume that dropping or damaging the box would also possibly compromise safety of the car seat for a child riding in it.

We have a very negative and bad experience with this store. We ordered the furniture early enough to set up our baby's room before his arrival. Then when it was time we got the wrong crib delivered twice, and the hatch was broken. Then it was delivered again with poor quality (the stain would come off by just touching it). Someone had to come to fix it. After finally getting in touch with him and setting up an appointment he forgot about our appointment. It will be a long story if I wanted to describe what happened in the last 6-7months. So much wasted time and so many phone calls. All I can say is that I got the worst experience and a poor customer service from management and the furniture department. At the end they declined any compensation and there was no apology.

Great products, staff is very helpful however I find the place expensive. Then they have an offer 20% off anything in the store. I though it would be a great idea to buy a nice stroller car seat combo. Then I read the exclusions on their promotion. Everything in the store is excluded, what's the point of even having a promotion? Worst customer service I have ever experienced. As a new mom I trusted BBB for my baby's stuff even if it's more pricey than other stores. I tried to return some of the items and exchange for new ones but the associate (SKYLAR) who served me was so impatient and took lot of deep breaths during the transaction. I always follow the return policy of all the stores. I just hoped that if you are working in that field you have to be courteous and polite especially if your customer is not doing a wrong thing.

I went in to purchase gifts for my friends newborn, and Lupita helped me at the checkout. She was the most energetic, kind, genuine, and happy soul I've had the pleasure of meeting in a long time and she absolutely made my Saturday morning. Not only was she making jokes and easy conversation, she spent 10 minutes with me to wrap the gift in flawless fashion at the wrapping station, complete with a delicate lace bow. I would highly recommend her and this location to anyone, and will certainly return for all future baby-related needs. Thank you Lupita !

Very poor customer service. They were not knowledgeable about the car seats we were shopping for at all. After doing our own research we made an online purchase of a car seat which was on sale. When the car seat never arrived we checked our spam folder and discovered they cancelled the order for being out of stock. I'm sure the seat will show up online again in the coming weeks, more like "out of stock at that price." They would not send a different colour seat, they would not provide a gift certificate for the difference or for any amount for that matter. They would not provide an apology. We will not spend one cent at this place for the life of our child. Way to play the long game, BBB. Epic fail.

Giving them 1 star due to the fact that as a new mother with little time, my time was wasted: i went in because i got this coupon for a free MAM pacifier (value up to 10bks). When i go to the cashier, there were 3 ladies just chit chatting their ass off until finally they stopped and one helped me out. Or so i thought she could... I give her the coupon and she needed assistance because she didnt know how to do it. So she grabbed a supervisor, which said to scan the coupon and if it doesn't work then it doesn't work. She scanned and it didnt go thru. I asked her to read the coupon because even though its not scanning it should still count. Nope. Didnt even bothered to read it. I went to Superstore (2 blocks away) and had no problem! She read it and she said it was fine. SO... I rather not shop their anymore, prices are expensive. Customer service SUCKS! And they dont know how to read coupons.

Worst service. I went in to the store to purchase a stroller system that was on sale. Employee told me it was sold out in store, but they could order it through a different system and ship to my house within 2 weeks. The employee was helpful in that sense. So I did that, and paid for the stroller system at the store. 1.5 weeks later I go online to check the status of my order to see when it will deliver. I discover that my order had been cancelled. I did not receive any notice or communication about the cancellation of my order. When I contacted them about this, they just said they couldn't locate the stock so the order was cancelled. I had paid for the order in store, so I was charged for it. And must go back to the store to see what they can do to give me a refund back on the item I paid for that will never deliver! Most disappointing service I had ever received. And they are not doing anything to correct the incident.

This place has got the slowest customer service I've ever had to deal with. If my wife and I knew how bad it would be we would have registered elsewhere. They also offer 10% and 15% off coupons which is great on the surface and even the fine print on the coupons; however, once you get to the till they have even more fine print that excludes most of the most expensive products, like car seats strollers, and breastfeeding milk pumps.

I have been to this store so many times and each time I give my information to sign up to thier online deals no one actually putsmy info in. I have given my Information to so many different cashier's and today the manager and again as usual so disappointed with it. Haven't received any email saying I'm signed. Customer service is horrible. I don't think I'm going back to this store ever again and I would tell my friends the same. So disappointed

If you live in Edmonton, go to the West Ed location instead!! The customer service is so much better there. My husband and I had gone to the south common location to figure out what stroller we would like. As we were trying things out, one of the employees was close by on a computer so we asked her for some help, she reluctantly came over and collapsed the strollers for us to show us how its done and promptly walked away again. Didn't say a single word to us. Any time I have gone to this location the customer service always leaves something to desire. Staff seem to not care at all to answer questions and seems like its a chore for them to help out a customer. Hence why (even though its a lot further for me) I will do all of my future potential shopping at the West Ed location. Not impressed.

We ended up buying a baby monitor as ours had broken and when we got home, we noticed the cords were missing. I called and talked to the store manager Leslie who apologized and sent a cab to bring me a new one that night!! I haven't experienced this good of customer service anywhere else. I would highly recommend this store for their customer service and high quality products!!!

Worst Customer Service/ Feel Robbed The last update/ phone call I received after I reached out was Nov 3rd. I had called because I had been promised $100 credit to my account & it hasn’t showed up. I was told there had been a mix up (again) and it would be resolved. It is now Nov 20th & still no $100 credit. This was supposed to a “make up” for my dresser not being ordered till I called in Sept 27th, even though I made a huge order in July. The only item I have from my order is the crib. I am still waiting on both rails that I ordered that were supposed to have been ordered in July with the crib, & the dresser. My child is scheduled to be born in 10 days & I still don’t have my 2x rails, Dresser, or $100 that I was promised. This is beyond poor customer service. I understand accidents happen. But I have had no updates and the promises given have not been followed up on at all. The service was great and the selection was fantastic. The prices on the other hand are astronomical! Walmart; by comparison, is about 75% less expensive on most major items. All of the products that they carry could be found at more convenient stores in the city. Amazed that people still shop there to be honest. Not easy to get to, and not worth the costs.

I am pregnant with our first baby and my husband and I came into Buy Buy Baby to look into buying a breast pump. It was very busy in the store and it appeared that all of the employees were talking with customers. I became so overwhelmed with all of the choices and had a mini melt down. A nice employee who was with some customers saw this and quickly brought over someone to help me. Her name was Stacey and she immediately started asking questions and helped us buy a Medela breast pump. She was so knowledgeable and also told us about submitting a claim to our insurance company as they might cover a breast pump. She also talked to us about bottles, sterilizers and a bottle warmer. She could have sold us a bunch of bottles but she gave us good advice to start out with a small bottle with 3 different companies for baby to choose. We felt so relieved that she came to help us and also feel much more informed. We will be back!

Its 8 months and our order hasn't arrived. We ordered instore at West Edmonton Mall in January and was told will deliver in April because of Covid. Its been pushed to month after month and now they say we can't even cancel the order, we get 50% refund only. What a scam! I wish I could give a 0 star review!

Extremely unprofessional and rude. I went to return something today and couldn't believe it. Have never reviewed on here but wanted to warn others. They would not return an item I had just purchased because when they opened the bag there was a small 2 cm long hair on the item. I explained that I had taken the item out of the bag when I got home and found it too massive for what I needed and therefore returned it. I was planning on purchasing a smaller one after returning this one but I will go elsewhere! The manager and clerk scoffed and seemed to think I was lying to them about a silly pillow. They refused to return the brand new item. I will be returning to speak with someone else who has more common sense and hopefully these two ladies aren't working again, as they were absolutely ridiculous and had zero customer service skills.

The customer service at this location is absolutely horrible. I’ve never been more frustrated. I don’t usually leave reviews but I urge people who want to shop here to not ask any of the sales reps for help and just do your own research and go in and buy what you want. Me and my husband bought a crib here mind you their cribs go for upwards of $600 they told us we can do the transfer program which would mean our crib would be shipped to the store from another store/warehouse in 15 days or so. We ordered the crib on the beginning of July I am talking like 4-5th. It is now the 29th. They told us it will be in by the end of the month and wed receive a call when it’s in. No problem we agreed. So now we are at the end of the month, no phone call. I called the store they told me the person who deals with the orders isn’t in today she will be in tomorrow. So I called the next day, they transfer me to the lady who deals with the orders. She tells me that the warehouse sent her an email she was on leave that the crib we ordered is on back order and it will be another 6-8 weeks! Mind you no one called us to let us know this, we already paid for the crib. Then she says she’ll call me back because she needs to check which crib I ordered to see if they have them in stock. She proceeded to call me back and say they have one in the store but she had to take it apart to make sure all the parts were there... that’s a little sketchy because why would a SEALED box for a crib arrive with its parts missing.... I understand the corona virus is putting a lot of things on hold and postponing orders but this store is considered high end for baby stuff. If people are spending this kind of money here you need to act more professionally about it. So if you’re going to shop here, don’t ask any of the sales reps for help just do your own research and come and buy your items, or go to Babies R Us their price points are better and they have the same stuff.

Went to check out their strollers today. Good selection, yes. BUT As we were testing out the strollers, one of the sales associates asked us if we needed help and we politely said we're good thanks, we're just shopping around for different strollers. She left and so we continued on examining how each stroller worked. One of the strollers had a lose tag on it and as my husband was figuring out the how-tos ONE FRICKIN PIECE OF PAPER fell on the floor, this sales associate came walking by and commented, "Oh I see papers everywhere!" We smiled as she picked it up and then she told us, "BE GENTLE WITH IT!" Like, really?? It was rude and we were pretty offended by her smart-alecky comment.

I had such an exceptional experience at buybuy baby, West Edmonton Location, thanks to Nora. She was beyond helpful through the entire process of picking, choosing, and purchasing our nursery furniture. I had quite an extensive order and Nora was super patient, kind, and obviously very experienced in her department. I felt as though I had a million questions and she seriously answered every single one and if she didn't know at that moment, she used the appropriate resources to find the answers. She made me feel very confident in my purchase, especially knowing that she was handling everything and making sure everything was organized. Nora never rushed me and encouraged me to take the time I needed to make a decision. With the way everything is in 2020, online shopping is just so easy, but after experience the customer service that Nora provided, I will definitely make more effort for the in person trips to buybuy baby. Found a foam marshmallow chair for my son and they tried to sell it to me for $40 more than the other chairs there ($120.00). I found the exact same chair at indigo online for half the price and on Bed Bath and Beyond (which they're associated with) for half price. The girl at the till was nice, but the manager had quite a bad attitude.

My friend booked registry through buy buy baby South Edmonton Common and booked some products. Most of the products were unavailable on storesite. Anyways, I was there to pick up my stuff, the staff handed over to me literally in-hands without even a carry bag. However, they were supposed to gift wrap those items. The staff forced me to purchase gift bag.I felt very embarrassed and stressful in front of other customers and raised my concern. The staff was very rude, non-cooperative. It was just yesterday May24th and I asked for store manager. She told that store manager isn’t in store now. I haven’t experienced such unethical and worst customer service. I won’t recommend this particular location to anyone in future

I would not recommend this place, unless you want overpriced items and poor customer service. You can find a lot of the items here cheaper elsewhere such as Wal Mart or other retailers. What is most disappointing as someone else commented, is their customer service- there is hardly any. We were interested in looking at a stroller, and in the department there were only 2 employees. Both were busy with other customers, for a good 15+ minutes we were there. One employee was helping these 3 girls, while we looked at strollers behind them and waited for the employee to assist us. I thought by standing close by she would notice that I needed help. Nope not at all. She was so focused on these 3 girls, did not even care to ask me to wait a bit, that she would help me shortly, or acknowledge my existence. I would say it was a good 20 minutes before we were assisted by the other employee. I was very disappointed in the customer service here, and really wouldn't recommend this place.

Had a very disappointing experience here yesterday. Giving three stars because everyone was kind, understanding and apologetic except for the Guy who was initially "helping me". I honestly never had a bad experience shopping at this location but unfortunately I wasted my time. I called to put an item on hold and the guy said thay he will put one on hold for me and I asked how many they had and he said 3, i told him i'll get it the next day and he said that they can only put it on hold until the end of the day. (I was at the WEM location when I made the call,WEM didn't have the item and I was advised that south common has it) So i went to south common immediately and when I got there I informed tbe cashier that I had called to put something on hold they tried looking for the item and the guy but they couldn't find him so I had to wait, when they did find him he asked me how i'd like to pay i said cash he said I cant because the register is already closed for cash and so I agreed to pay using my card but before I paid he said it will be shipped to me and tbey will order it online. At that point I had realized i wasted my fime because I could have just ordered it online myself. The whole point of me calling them and driving there was to get it then andt here. So nothing was put aside for me to begin with. I wasted my time. That guy is very unprofessional.

Poor customer service esspessially if you ordered online. Bought a crib online, waited until I had time to build it which was a couple weeks past purchase date. Started building and had 2 hardware packs of 1/2 but no 2/2. Got told because I ordered they couldn't help in any way. And was just told to return and order again hopefully you get the parts needed. Contacted Bed Bath and Beyond and finally got talking to somebody that could help who is sending the parts needed. Well recieve them within 2 weeks. Then I will see if they sent the parts needed. Not recommeded ordering for them online.

Says it opens at 10am on Sunday, waited in my car until 10 for it to open because I was in a rush, went to the door at 10, only to have the worlds rudest girl open the door and tell me “we open at 11 on Sundays, it says it right there on the door”. Train your staff to be polite and update your hours.

A few weeks ago my husband and I had an appointment to have a gift registry consultation at the South Common location. After the whole experience I left feeling extremely frustrated and in tears. We arrived on time for our appointment at 4:00 but when we got there it was chaos. Our consultant was given the dual job of answering the store phone at the same time (while management was apparently in meeting). It took over 30 mins to just get our basic information to set up the registry. She was very distracted and asked for my husband's name several times even though she had already written it down. Finally, she took us around the store to point out some "highlights" but it was basically a pushy sales pitch on some of the most expensive items. I had previously done a ton of research ahead of time on the products I wanted and thought are worth the money. Every time we came to an item that I didn't want she got pushy and tried to sell it or plain make me feel like I was going to be a bad mother if I didn't possibly have baby ear muffs (even though we made it very clear that we don't attend any loud events nor will we in the middle of winter when our twins are born). She was also really bad for over selling common products like baby hooded towels...she tried to tell me that we needed was like 8 per baby or some crazy amount. I happen to know that babies only need baths 2-3 times per week so what am I supposed to do with that many extra towels? When she brought us to certain parts of the store she told my husband to scan things without us even having the opportunity to check out alternatives. For example when she brought us to the car seat and stroller area she told my husband to scan barcodes for seat protectors and mirrors without showing us options or other price points. I looked online after and found that they were literally the most expensive ones and didn't even have great reviews. Also, every time I came to a product that I wanted or liked instead of the product she suggested she had a case as to why it was a bad product or made me feel like my research or opinion wasn't valid. The appointment was abruptly ended by her saying she was off shift and management didn't like her staying late (which if it didn't take so long to get started would not have run late). She also said that she was going to come in the next day and add a few things that she thought we might like and some items that she couldn't find the skus. I wasn't super thrilled about this but I agreed it would be ok, knowing I could just delete the items after. A week and a half later I get a voice mail from her stating she finally added some items. I went online to see what she added and I was fuming mad! It was all the items I didn't want or I had already added myself (more hooded towels, mirrors, seat protectors, nail trimmers, etc). To summarize, I wish that I would not have bothered to do a consultation in store and just did this online. I am very disappointed in this service considering I am asking my loved ones to come spend their money here.

Horrible service, not clear on delivery and extra cost to have items, especially heavy items, to your home. Very disappointed as we were told the item would be brought into my home only to find out later that costs an additional $200. Ridiculous

Products and prices are comparable to other baby stores in Edmonton, though they do carry some more brands than Babies R Us. The only issue with the store is that the service is terrible and absent. Not once I have gone in and been helped, even when I asked for it. Was ready to drop a couple hundred dollars on a new mattress and sheets for our baby on the way and the staff couldn't be bothered to look up the size of the mattress we were looking at or point us in the direction of the sheet set we saw on a crib we liked. Just started chatting with other staff members.

The Associate named STACEY was horrible. One star is so generous to give to her. I was asking her something and she walked pass by me without saying anything. Not even greeting me like what the heck was that?! She seems fake when talking to some customers like “are you done asking coz i need to go” please choose your associate more carefully. My husband and I came here looking for a double stroller and a car seat. Hilma was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain several different options. She asked specific questions so that she could tailor to our needs. She brought up some important points we never even thought about. Service like this in big box stores is hard to come by nowadays. MUNA is very rude and quite incompetent with her customer service skills. Me being an expecting mother ordered a dresser over 400$ and a month later still waiting for my refund.

Worst experience till date with a lady named "Stacey." I asked her a question about a product they didn't seem to have in store because I didn't see it anywhere, and she said I might as well get someone to order it for you and didn't even bother double checking! Later, when another associate came to help me out, she started by "Yeah, it's a great product!" I agreed "Well, too bad you guys don't have it in stock." The reply I get is, "I'm sorry, but we have tons of those in the back, let me grab one for you?" It really did annoy me to think that "Stacey," was that lazy that she didn't want to go check for herself, so she thought its easier to order it, and waste my time? Extremely unprofessional! When I went to let her know, she came across to be very rude to me and the other associate that had helped me out? This woman really needs to learn how to speak to people because if she's this rude to the associates that work with her, how can she be working at a store where she is required to be helping customers out politely? She seems to have a very condescending behavior towards other people. Stacey really needs to be fired! I will never be asking her for help again, it would actually be better if I never see her during the time of my next visit, that is if I want to shop here again (not really)!

I love the selections in this store. It's a bit overwhelming at first, but I can find absolutely anything I need for Baby in this store. We had a terrible experience during our registry walk-through, but after speaking with a manager, it was quickly resolved and we were paired with a more educated employee. Return policy for registry items have also been a breeze since they keep your registry record! I will be back to shop for my second baby!

I even don't want to give them one start. Their customer service are very bad and also has attitude when you ask for help. We bought a stroller online from Buybuy Baby 2 weekend ago and some parts not easy to use. We bring them to store want do to exchange; however, one guy works in Southcommom store come to help us. He keeps try to pull that clicker very hardly and said it is normal because it is new. And when he takes the car seat out, he throws it on the floor very hardly. When he left, he rolls his eyes and one of his female co-worker also shaking her head seems like she very agree his attitude. It is our first time to buy stroller, if you guys can explain nicely without attitude, I won't be ungary. This is my first time get prangenant, I thought it should be the most enjoyable things to pick up things for my further baby on the world. However, this experience with Buybuy Baby is horrible. If you are working as customer service, you should have your basic quality of work. Especially, when you working in that such sweetest place.

Take over inflated prices and add the worst customer service ever and empty promises and you have this place. I could list many of my experiences but in interest of keeping this short I will just explain one. I ordered a $300 baby swing online from Buy Buy Baby on our baby registry because they didn't have it in store. It arrived in the Box was heavily damaged. They told me I have to deal with warranty and take it up with the manufacturer. Any other store in history that you order something online you can return it. Especially if it's not even opened. But not this place. It is my opinion that this place only cares about getting your dollar in their pocket and once they do then they will not deal with you any further on the subject. And their prices are so high that they definitely don't want you returning things because they know you're going to find it cheaper somewhere else shortly after you buy it from them. So good luck returning anything. Although they claim to have the best return policies anywhere and an even better return policy if you buy it off of your baby registry. But that is not exist as far as I'm concerned

My wife and I did our baby registers here. The lady we had was terrific. This is our first baby. So she explained everything and gave us an honest opinion on items weather we needed them or could do without. We had a very positive 2 visits. They have a huge selection of everything you could need for a baby or child. However the prices are slightly higher than say going to Walmart or somewhere else. I’m sure the knowledgeable staff at buy buy baby is worth paying a bit more to insure you make the right purchase. I will continue to go here. Thanks Debbie for the great experience

I would like to give a 5 star to a superstar "Suset", sorry if i spelled it wrong she is the assistant manager of the store and she was incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to help us. We had to return a product coz the bay was not comfortable on it and the box was opened but still she managed to help us and gave us a store credit. We know the policy but we checked with her and without hesitating she helped us out. Now we can atleast buy some important stuff for the baby from the same store. Attention all new parents!! This buh bye baby location is the place to go to! Every single employee asked us if needed anything or had any questions. But the one that helped us the most was a lady by the name of Shamarah, she is super knowledgeable, she definitely knows her stuff, she will ask you what type of things you are looking for in a certain item which is my eyes shows she actually cares about us as a customer but also that she cares about her job. Very friendly, easy to talk to and all around a really nice person.

When I was talking about the stroller with friend in our language, she disturbed us and acting like people speak other languages are not acceptable. In this store you can buy everything you need for pregnancy and babies. I like maternity clothing selection and baby clothes as well. Some stuff are pricey but if you cannot find where to buy something, you will find in this store for sure.

Went there with my girlfriend yesterday as we were trying to plan and get an idea for things we are going to need we had some questions about strollers and car seats we said we were looking for a jogging stroller the sales guy immediately got aggressive asking why we need a jogging stroller telling us well you're gonna have to put air in the tires they are a lot of work. Then he takes us over to the uppababy stroller immediately I see the price tag of 1500 bucks so I'm ready to move on but the sales guy starts doing a product demonstration for everyone around ignoring every question we had. Long story short we had a few questions about car seats and strollers got a product demo from the rudest salesman ever thought I was at a used car dealership. Don't waste your time going to this store it's all a rip off. Wish I could give less than 1 star

Lots of indian women work there . I had very bad experience such as I ask help and no body show up till 20mints . On the other side there was only one customer was inside of the store. When I ask 3rd time and went other side i see three 3 sales lady busy in telling story . That piss me up. Upon asking if some one can call the manager they just iggnore my request and reply me that the product u r looking for we don't have it .what a cheep staff or the management they have it. The product I was looking for they had it in there store under different brand name. Screw that kind of management who hire house wife without having a single customer service experience.

Items are often pricier but the coupons you get regularly really help. Lupita at the cash register was very VERY friendly, helpful and kind, I left feeling very happy because of her and the rest of the staff.

I'll always remember nursing my baby here on one of the chairs and having two employees try to lead me to a bathroom/ nursing room of some sort. I told one of them I was happy where I was, then 2 minutes later another employee came who seemed less then impressed I was stay put. Hopefully in the months since they trained their staff of the rights of breastfeeding parents.

On December 22, 2020, my wife and I were first time parents to be and walked into the store hoping to sign up for the baby registry like we’ve done at other baby supply stores. Before this, neither of us had ever walked into a buybuy BABY store. The employee that helped us initiated her service and asked “when’s the baby shower?” Having the pregnancy during the pandemic, we haven’t even thought of having one, and appropriately, we told her we didn’t have one. She then rudely asked “then why are you trying to register for the baby registry?” I told her, “maybe because we are having a child and we need to shop for him?” The employee began asking additional questions, all in a while only choosing to maintain eye contact with me, as she could not understand my wife due to her accent. The employee said that the store could not accommodate our walk-in and that we needed an appointment. Fair enough, though due to the employee’s rudeness towards my wife, we asked if we could book an appointment online (and not through her), to which she said that we could. Hesitantly, deciding to give the store another chance, we booked an appointment for December 29, 2020 through their online platform. On December 29, the same day of the appointment, a different store employee called me to say that they had already booked an appointment for our time slot. I asked why they could not tell us earlier, to which she told me that she did try and call me earlier in the morning; as if that would make a difference. I subsequently checked my phone call history and noted no missed calls at all. Absolutely ridiculous.

The management in this chain has failed in implementing a theft prevention programme... The security measures are grossly inadequate, which has resulted in this store becoming a hot bed for criminal theft. The store doesn't prosecute criminal theft, hasn't a hired security guards to ensure patrons safety, and does not have cameras covering areas of the store where theft is known to take place. When someone is caught stealing they are quietly escorted out; the illusion of safety is more important to management than the actual safety and security of patrons. I was robbed by a couple while shopping in this store and the management, although sympathetic told me that this is the norm. Management was familiar with the couple who pulled their distraction and obstacle scam on me. Three times in one week this duo was kicked out of this store... So, meanwhile I'm walking around buying baby things ignorant to the fact that I'm being targeted by thieves in a cozy upscale baby store. I was picking out a car seat with a sales associate and was targeted and robbed while in this store. This is a huge problem and your upper management needs to implement changes to ensure that customers and staff are all kept safe! By not prosecuting or implementing necessary security measures in this store you are creating an unsafe environment for everybody. Very disturbing!!! In this day and age for a store to not have cameras throughout a store seems absolutely absurd. But, hey, if your policy is to do inventory and just have insurance cover the cost of loss merchandise then no skin off your back, right? Doesn't matter if that behavior escalates and endangers the vulnerable people shopping in your store, right? This practice is sickening. Step up your game!!!

Me and my husband are visible minorities and we were blatantly followed in this store and our every move was obnoxiously watched. Anything that we picked up to look at, an employee would swoop in and check it immediately after. A worker would also stand right next to us and watch what we touched without actually offering her help or advice on the product. We would even try to make friendly conversation and were met with awkward and cold responses. We voiced our concerns at the till while paying and were given no explanation or apology for the bad customer experience. We have shopped at Buybuybaby since I found out I was pregnant and we have purchased many items from the store. I recommend the location in the west Edmonton mall. The staff are far more accommodating and understanding.
