I drive 30 minutes from Toronto to reach Tsingtao Wellness Spa and have been doing so monthly for the past year. After churning through RMT's for the past five years, I was ecstatic that I finally found a spot in the GTA that offers a heavenly experience that rids you entirely of knots and sore spots. I think my wife and I have tried all RMTs here and they all equally know what they are doing, every experience is a pleasant one. I read through a few of the negative responses and they all seem to be linked to tip. I have not experienced any issue with tipping because I've always tipped my RMTs here since they did an exceptional job. I believe you should absolutely tip RMTs as they offer you a service much like your hair salon, barber, cab/uber drivers, waiters, etc.

Getting a massage was a really great. I really enjoyed the whole experience. My RMT was very professional and listened to my concerns. She took her time and ensure that I was very relaxed. They also served a very tasty tea before I left. I would definitely recommend this place for these services.

The massage I received was ok. I did not enjoy the techniques but it is true that my shoulders were less sore after the massage. Would've been nice if I had actually enjoyed the massage itself too. And yes, they do have the cleanest public bathroom I have seen. The main issue I had was with the tipping. I believe in tipping so I would normally tip if the service has met or exceeded my expectations. Given that I did not purchase a Groupon, on nowhere have I read that tipping was mandatory - since when? I first made a payment on my credit card and did not include a tip. They charged my credit card a second time just for a tip which they claimed was obligatory. I felt totally ripped off. If tipping were an integral part of the fees they charge, they should have made it clear up front and not bully customers into paying more than what they had agreed to prior to receiving the services. Needless to say, I won't be going back again.

I purchased the Zen revival package which advertised 60 minutes of body massage, 15min head and 30 min reflexology. They do not tell you that those are appointment times not massage time. It starts from the moment the therapist come out to greet you, any getting ready time, waiting time or washroom break you take in between would take up your massage time. I wasn't able to look at the time for my body and head massage but it finished exactly an hr and 15min from my scheduled appointment time so I'm sure the massage time I received is way less than advertised. For reflexology I only received 20min massage time, 5min soaking and another 5 min waiting. I find this is very unusual especially they charge you a 15% mandatory tip for good service. I don't call this good service. The receptionist became very defensive and condescending too when I questioned her about this. I still tipped the mandatory tip because I don't want to argue with her since seeing some of the comment here regarding tipping. I will not come back again. I've definitely been to places with cheaper price, nonmandatory tipping and very professional RMTs who will massage you for the time that you paid for.

Honestly, the RMT and services are great - I asked for the 'Signature Tsingtao Therapeutic Massage' which uses the forearm and elbow technique. I really did enjoy that service...however... The reason for the less star review is because of the approach and the way the staff handled the gratuity. The first time I went, I paid the tip...but because its RMT, I was told by my insurance that the gratuity will not be covered and that technically, I shouldn't have done so in the first place. Again, I also understand that this atmosphere is a 'spa' and they will provide additional services such as giving you tea, etc....therefore, they expect tips. The second time I went, I chose not to add tip as it caused issues with my first RMT claim. Again, I understand that this type of environment expects tips from their clients, but what I felt uncomfortable with is HOW they approached the matter. After I left, I got two phone calls about the tip, and to be honest, I felt like they were pressuring me to come back and give gratuity. I explained that the service was for RMT which is to be covered by insurance, other spa massage places that I have gone to recommend tip, but its not mandatory. What upset me most about the situation is that my husband had an appointment booked for the same day (which they knew), so rather than give him the option to select a tip percentage (or choose not to if he had wanted to), instead they automatically included 15% directly onto his RMT bill. Point is, what happens in MY appointment SHOULD NOT affect how you treat another client's appointment just because of my association with them. Overall, like I said, great massage...but poor customer etiquette and aggressive approach when it comes to gratuity. I respect that they want to reinforce that the tip be mandatory, but the situation made me uncomfortable, preferably will go to other spas instead.

My husband and I have been visiting this spa every month or so for over 2 years, and we love it! I have had the therapeutic massage, mom to be massage, and reflexology (foot massage with acupressure points). Every session is very relaxing and professional. We have had treatments performed by various RMTs and they are all really good (great pressure and technique) and really professional. The spa is nicely decorated and always clean, also smells great. We always feel so relaxed and pampered after our massages.

This is one of my favourite places in Markham to go to for a massage! Very clean, spacious and comfortable massage beds. The therapists are very professional and the massage techniques they use always helps to loosen any knots or muscle tension I have. They also apply this awesome cooling gel in the areas on my back where it is extra tense. I’ve been here countless times and I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this place. :)

I had to share my experience at Tsingtao today for every details. It's been so amazing and they respect every single details to serve you perfectly! I bought the Travelzoo voucher for 60min Lava Shell massage and 15min head massage. I called in yesterday to make appointment and mentioned to them that i'd like to switch Lava Shell massage to Fire&Ice Massage (i visited their webiste so i know they both done with shells, and Fire and Ice sounds more attactive to me, btw their website is so beautiful and helpful~ they must spent lots of time on it), the manager who answered my call was very polite, she said she would like to do it for me however Fire&Ice is not that recommended in winter time, lol. So i stayed with Lava. Today once i step into this place, the front desk staff immediately stood up and gave me warming greetings, helped me checked in, offered me hot tea, slippers and locker to use. She even ask me if i need washroom before my treatment start, so thoughtful!! Also their tea really shocked me, really tasty, they said it's pepermint chai tea. They also taught me how to make it so i will go home and try. Anyway then i was guided to my room by my therapist, she asked where is my major concern area, and introduced me what lava shell massage was, and even how to lied down on the table. After she re-entered, she checked with me about table temprature and room temprature. After the heated shell gliding on me, it felt amazing! Combined with her elbow techniques, it was so impressed. She addressed my shoulder and lower back, switching between the shells and her hands, it was so relaxing and still released tension. They also offered me hot towels on my back and feet, pain releasing gel on my shoulder. And the oil they use is holly oil, feel not greasy at all, good for skin. I strongly recommended this place and subscribed to their monthly offers. I like people who do business that look into all details of customer experience, and Tsingtao is one of them.

Massage was good. Same as other reviews my only complaint was the forced amount on the gratituity and zero mention of that until service was finished. Receptionist said it was a "service charge" when charging me but on the receipt it clearly labeled tips. Update: Benefit does not cover any "tips" labeled on the receipt. It was definitely misleading for the reception to tell me it was a service charge.

I enjoyed my first massage here. Atmosphere is nice and clean. Reason for the 1 less star is because of the mention of having to pay 15% gratuity on top of their price. Gratuity should be optional and not enforced based on the price. I have been to other places and never mentioned about having to pay gratity. I end up having to pay an extra $10 of gratuity. Enjoyed this place. But because of that, i will continue to search other places.

This place is one of the best spa’s in the GTA. From the moment I walked in I felt relaxed and in a zen state. Clean, clean, clean. Did I mention clean. The owners are elegantly professional, polite and knowledgeable. I have a lot of problems with posture and knots in my upper back. I felt the therapist actually trying her best to release tension and make sure I felt comfortable and feeling good. Ambiance is zen, calming and makes you feel like your not in Markham anymore. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a mini getaway vacation. When going there your troubles and stresses of life just melt away.

Very clean and professional spa. I did a 90 min hot stone massage + 15 min head & scalp massage with Shey (not sure if I spelled her name right). I felt like butter during and after. Prices are very reasonable. If you have insurance that covers massages, this is a great place because they are all RMTs. Will definitely be coming back! PS: With Covid, they do a screening questionnaire about exposures and travel by phone, then check your temperature and you wear your mask while in the spa and during the massage. I thought it would be uncomfortable to wear a mask during a massage but it was totally fine. The massage was so good, I didn't even notice I was wearing a mask.

I’ve been to this spa twice now, once for my mom’s birthday, and once for my birthday. The first time I booked the hot stone massage, with reflexology and aromatherapy. The second time I had the fire & ice shell massage with aromatherapy. Both were really amazing and extremely relaxing. It’s a small, very clean and super professional place, with friendly staff. I will continue to visit this spa every few months. Highly recommend!!

I was going to give a 2 star rating but today both me and my wife started having shoulder pains after getting a massage from this place. For me it was an average massage that neither gave pain relief nor the relaxation usually obtained from getting a full body massage. Their signature massage was more shiatsu but felt repetitive as the same surfaces were covered over and over without the usual attention provided to other pressure points. It was at times more painful than relaxing but did not alleviate some of the aches and pains we had. The price is however more expensive than other places and the location is out of the way for Toronto hence my original 2 star rating (this is without the tip complaint people have since it is standard for me to tip RMTs so that was fine). However after having experienced pain for both me and my wife the day after I would not recommend people come here.

I'm a big fan of Chinese tuina massage as it's the only type of massage that actually relieves / helps me manage my pain. Tsingtao is professional, clean, and always provides me a relaxing spa experience. I also love the cold tea and snacks at the end!!

I was really offended by last visit here. During my second visit, I decided not to tip, after I had generously tipped $20+ on my first visit (not by choice). I personally don't believe RMTs should be tipped. But that's my belief. The RMT asked me, after seeing that I had not tipped whether I would like to process another payment to tip her, I said no. She proceeded to tell me if I were to come back, I would be required to pay 10-15% tip... I told her, she cannot force her customers to pay tip. I was really offended by her comments to me. Tips are optional. You should not be forcing your customers to pay if they do not want to.

The massage therapist I've used a couple of times is Yui. She is very good and finds the areas that need to be worked on and gets all the tightness out. I have gone to Tsingtao regularly for the last several months and have an amazing experience every time. The staff are very professional and they really go the extra mile by giving complimentary fortune cookies and tea (hot in the winter and cold in the summer). They have a thorough application process where you can indicate your pressure preference and areas of focus. Tsingtao is definitely ideal for anyone with arthritis or muscle conditions. All of their RMTs are very talented and are willing to accommodate any preferences or medical needs. I would highly recommend booking an appointment with Ma Elena, Yui or Sheng.

I had Chen and she was deceivingly strong for a petite lady. I had a fantastic 90min RMT massage from her, definitely coming back. Yes tip is mandatory, but they were 100% upfront about it when booking the appointment, so that is fine with me since that's the cost of massage. I've also had Mimi and Sheng as RMT. All of them are very strong and similar but slightly different techniques.

However I don't agree with the 15% service fee that is charged at the end on the bill and call it a tip. I was charged tax on the service fee as well, is that legal? Don't get me wrong I always tip my masseuse, but this is a turn off that this was mandatory.

She used elbows through out my upper back massage. Actually left me sore, which i wasn't before going there. ???? And that's why I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE TIPPING. I GUESS AM SORRY. Place was super clean, hence 2* definitely,so hatsoff for that. But seriously leave the people alone if they didn't like the massage and don't feel like TIPPING.

From entry into the location to end accommodations, the staff is very thorough and helpful. For the actual massage experience, problem areas and a bit more were worked on very well. Strength is applied naturally and does not feel forced. Effects of massage remain afterwards, which feels as proof of thoroughness!

Tsingtao Wellness Spa really knows how to make you feel at ease, and doesn't miss a beat in terms of anything. They pay attention to the smallest details to meet your needs, and they're extremely professional. I'm never ever ever going anywhere else again. ????????

I called to make a reflexology appointment with an RMT. The receptionist was kind however, she explained to me that they would be charging me an extra 10-15% gratuity on top of the cost of the service. I expressed that I never have been to an RMT that forces gratuity. She then stated that they do this because they are a spa. Once again, I have never been to a spa who forces gratuity. I ended up cancelling my appointment and do not intend to go here. Although I am sure that their RMT is nothing but professional and great at their job, it is extremely unprofessional to "force" or "recommend" gratuity on a client. RMTs are health professionals and this is a professional service therefore, they should never push a gratuity on their clients. Chiropractors, doctors and other RMTs never do this so why is it okay that a "spa" does this? For this reason, I would not recommend this place. Look elsewhere!

They force you to tip, which I find weird. I have not come across a massage clinic that forced you to do so. Also the receptionist became very rude and upset after I asked for clarification on why I needed to tip. I felt forced and it ruined the entire experience. With that said, the RMT did a great job with the massage.

I got a massage from them yesterday, and the RMT who performed the Swedish massage on me was Lili. She was very professional, lovely and she was amazing. The pressure of her massage was even throughout my whole body and she was able to relieve all the tight spots, specially the ones on my shoulders and back. I have been to a lot of massage places but this place is definitely one of my favorites. The price is worth it and their services are amazing. I would definitely be coming back and would definitely recommend this place.

It is a very clean place. All the staff are friendly and professional. I specifically enjoy the way the RMT massage my back using their elbow techniques in their therapeutic massage. However, if the whole body massage can include areas like buttock or inner thighs, it'll be more complete. Lastly, for me, the elbow strokes on my calves and hamstrings doesnt release much tension. Hope they can combine other techniques.

Excellent service over the phone and at the spa location. They always do calls to remind you of your booking and it is super easy to book over the phone. I booked a sports massage and therapeutic massage. Sports massage helped a lot of mobility soreness. Therapeutic hurts a lot because they go for deep muscle tissues and bones. Sports massage was with Lili and Therapeutic with Xiao Xuan Zhou, both were very nice and applied good pressure.

Area is clean and the massage beds are very comfortable. Reflexology was also very relaxing and served my sore feet well. They met all expectations I have for a massage spa. Great massage(that’s most important), great environment, great service and great staff! I’m an aged person, they offer the excellent service from the moment that I came in. They offer me sandals to change (very comfortable and clean, I almost forgot to take them off when i leave haha), offer me lockers for my jacket and even asked me if i would like to use washroom before the treatment starts. Their washroom is very nice and clean, I can tell that they do not let go the little details. Yes I know I’m not here just for a beautiful bathroom, but i believe it is an important and immediate side to tell a place is high quality or not. Then my therapist- Sheng introduced herself to me and took me to the treatment room. She asked me which area to focus and what’s my overall condition, very professional. She opened the bed and dim the light for me before she leave for me to change. Again, their high quality service is really showing on those single details. And once I got into the bed I immediately feel relaxed! The sheets are so silky, I never seen this type of sheets in any other spas I’ve been to. And since it’s getting cold, the table warmer is on. Anyway overall this spa really impressed me from beginning to the end. I will highly recommend it to all my neighbors and family. And they told me they have referral and birthdays discounts too, even better!

Finally got to try out this place. My experience definitely overexceeded my expectations. I originally asked for a Swedish massage. But the RMT felt how tense my shoulders were & continued with a different technique - elbow technique.. it really helped take out the knots & i felt more relaxed. Looking forward to another session.

My go to establishment for RMT massages. Been going consistently and the service is professional and the decor & furnishes are clean. You will be provided with slippers upon your arrival and after your session there is tea and snacks that are provided to rehydrate you which is nice. It's the little details that really make this a great place as you are provided with warm tea in the winter and cold tea in the summer.

I were here for my birthday with my girl friend. I didn't arrive on time but luckily they have space to postpone the services for us. They have a health form for you to fill for your first visit and that's why they recommended to us to arrive 5 minutes early. This is time based services so I understand even if they couldn't. Front desk and therapists are super friendly and professional. Great massage experience ever. We were both happy. Definitely will come back to them. Btw: they have 20% off birthday promo for existing customers. I think I can't wait to come back and use this benefit during my birth month lol.

The massage is very good and professional, the pricing is at a higher end. Typically insurance covers up to 100$ for 1 hour massage so I have to pay more out of pocket. Also, they charge 15% gratuity on the bill unless you indicate otherwise. Just FYI.

I had my first visit at Tsingtoa Wellness Spa and it was wonderful. I have had some bad experiences lately with spas, specifically being cut on time. I was super happy with my 90-minute prenatal massage. My RMT was very good. The spa was also super clean and well-maintained and the tea after was such a nice touch. I would definitely go here again!

The lava shell massage was great and they were very polite. My only issue was at the end when paying I was not given the option of what tip I wanted to offer as the travel zoo voucher said tip on the full value. I paid $75 to travel zoo so they charged tax on that amount, but they automatically added a tip of 20% on the full regular price of $124, and I was not offered the option of 15, 18,or 20% . Not only that be careful because they auto grateful the tip there is also an additional tip value that I was able to decline...seemed shady to me. Sorry but true. I won't be going back.

The quality of this spa is way beyond average. They have lockers for your personal belongings, nice and clean washroom, and they offer sandals to you when you arrive, so you could get relaxed right away upon arrival. You can feel Zen immediately when you enter this space, from the scent they use for the essential oil diffuser, little plants, overall decors and excellent music. They have freshments like fortune cookie, candies and amazing tea available. Summer time it’s iced tea, now when winter time they offer hot tea, both are great and unique. As for the service part, you can easily tell that all of them are well trained, no matter the front desk or the therapists; no matter their massage techniques or their customer service. Everyone is friendly and professional. And every detail has been taken care of. The costs are a little bit expensive than clinics or rehab centers, but this is a spa. Their service, facilities, and products are way better quality so it well worth it. And their services really deserve great tips. After all, I have insurance to cover most of my massage expense so why not treat myself with a better experience. Rather than lying down on an ice cold clinical setting table for an hour for a massage I have to suffer, I prefer a relaxing and amazing massage, even though I need to pay little bit from my own pocket or once or twice massage chance. Quality is more important than quantity. They also have spa packages like buy $500 for extra $50 credit on account and buy $1000 for extra $150 credit. Great deal especially this lovely spa is just a few munite away. It will make the price even better than a clinic. Overall I would highly recommend this spa!

I used to go to Sheng when she was downtown. I tried another massage therapist from clinic where she used to work. Was good, but Sheng is magic. I recommend her lava she'll massage. I drove 40 mins to get the best massage.

The last RMT I had was with Annie and she truly listened when I asked her to focus on certain areas (my neck, shoulders, and spine) I left the spa feeling refreshed and slept so well that night. I work as an esthetician and is constantly in pain. I decided I needed a good massage and based off the reviews, I decided to try it out, and I'm extremely happy I did. To start, the booking process is very easy and straight forwards, Stephanie, answered all my questions and was able to book me in quickly. When I got there, I was greated warmly and they took all they precautions for COVID. My RMT, Sheng, was AMAZING. She asked what I wanted and gave me one of the best massages I've ever had. She gave the right pressure through the whole massage. She definitely has magic hands, most of my major back & shoulder pain has gone away because of her! At the end of my massage, they made sure I was happy with everything and even gave me a delicious refreshment. Stephanie even went out of her way to open the door for me when I left. Thank you! Ive worked in high-end spas most of my life, and I am happy to give 5 stars for my experience today. They might be a smaller spa, but for the price, the professionalism, and the RMT services, it absolutely cannot be beat! I rather come here than my own high end spa! Definitely a returning client and telling all my friends!

I have to say this is the best massage I’ve ever had. It’s a bit of pricey in the area but it worth it compare to other down spas. They are not a giant place but it’s neat and sparkling clean. Once step in you can tell immediately that it’s a high quality place. They focus on details for all aspects and really respect their clients. Most important is, they do good massage! I like spa more than clinics, and this place has all the reasons I choose to come back. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have been coming to Tsingtao Spa for 4 years now and we love it here. We have been to both the Markham and Vaughan locations but more often we go to the Markham one as it's closer to us. Both locations are extremely clean and they take Covid-19 protocols very seriously which I think is great as it makes both the customers and workers feel safer. The new Markham facility is much larger and they did a great job with the design. The RMTs are all professional and actual RMTs. They are a bit on the pricier side when you also factor in the 15% gratuity but we don't mind as we feel the experience and level of service received, reflects appropriately. They also always give you a tasty tea afterwards which is a nice touch. Getting an appointment is also much easier at Tsingtao because they have a policy where you can only book 2 appointments ahead of time. This is a great policy as other massage places are near impossible to get an appointment. There is a reason we have been loyal customers all these years and will continue to be as long as Tsingtao continues with the level of service we have become accustomed to and appreciate. I would recommend their massage services to anyone out there looking for a professional, relaxing and effective RMT experience.

I stopped in as a walk in customer the other day. Right from the start I was impressed. Very nice spa and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I was greeted warmly at reception. I was introduced to my RMT therapist who guided me to the room. The room was very relaxing. My RMT therapist, sorry I forgot her name, was very pleasant and spent considerable time talking and asking about my general health and if I had any specific issues that I wanted to address. My 90 minute full body massage was excellent I actually fell asleep a couple of times :) The spa is very quiet and relaxing and the beds are actually heated. Something I had not experienced before. I strongly recommend this spa and encourage anyone looking for a professional massage in a relaxed atmosphere to call and book and appointment.

This is the best place in GTA for massages! Customer service, relaxing atmosphere, clean and beautiful space, and skill level is above excellent. This place has made me realize that I can have a relaxing and therapeutic massage while also loosening my knots. In previous massages I have received, I find myself holding my breath more than half the time due to excessive pressure. My massages at Tsingtao are just right, and it is the only place where I find myself naturally taking in deep breaths and exhaling throughout the whole process. I come out of this place feeling totally rejuvenated, both mind & body!
