I have been seeing Danielle at the Loft for a while now, and every time I leave happy! She always makes sure to understand what I want done and can always recommend the best products to help my fine & thin hair. I recently started bringing my significant other there and she always makes his hair (and beard!) look perfect! The entire atmosphere is amazing and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. They also have a huge selection of products to help your hair look it's absolute best! I'd definitely recommend checking them out, you won't be disappointed!

I got a very good experience with Gina. I wanted to do highlights to my hair, but before doing that she asked if I relaxed my hair or did other chemicals. We tried to do a small part before doing my hair and my hair rejected it. Instead, she did a very good haircut and made my hair shiny, soft and healthy-looking. I would definitely come again!

I have been going to The Loft for a couple years now. I always go to Bea, I completely trust her and end up with amazing results. One of the best parts of going is being greeted by the wonderful front desk staff, especially the amazing Andrew who is always with a smile on his face. Also It is two hour street parking only, so I park at the parkade on Fort and Assiniboine during my longer appointments.

Today was my fourth or fifth time coming in to The Loft. Everytime I go, I am amazed by the professionalism and superb customer service. My first experience was with Gerald, he is amazing. He chopped my shoulder length hair and was more excited about going blonde than I was...I went back three times to have him touch it up. They also did my hair and makeup last October for my wedding, Amy did my hair and I can’t remember the makeup artist’s name. They were both friendly and super-professional! Today I went in to have my recent buzz cut straightened out. I booked with Tyler and I have to say he is so amazing! He listened to me about what I was doing, and took the time afterwards to explain what I could expect as I grow out my hair. I now live out-of-province, but will make the trip in to get my hair done here. I have recommended The Loft to many people, and will continue to do so because they deserve it! I had my hair done for the first time on April 25th. Lindsay did a good job. As I was paying the reception asked me to book my next appt which was on May 24th at 10am. I called today, May 22, to cancel and rebook but to my surprise I was told that there wasn’t an appt booked for me. WHAT?! So when asked if I would like to rebook, I said NO. So what will happen if I showed up on my “scheduled appointment” Not everyone has time to spare for waiting. You have to train your staff to value other people’s time.

Went for a cut and colour 150 dollars later (would have been over 300 but lucky for me I had a coupon if you call that lucky) I left there with no noticeable change after repeatly telling GINA (the hairstylist or so she’s called) how I wanted it she did nothing like I asked when told her I was unhappy all they did was take the highlights out n tell me to make another appt at my cost (for her mess up)!!

The person who did my hair was very kind and i think she’s a great person. But I just didn’t love my results. It didn’t look very professional, it looked box dye like. I could’ve done a better job. It also wasn’t cheap. I contacted them but was told to spend more money on my hair to get it blended and buy expensive shampoos. I wish I could get my money back and just went to shoppers and spent $20 instead of $200+ on this. These were the results of the next day of the dye job , no washing or products etc. A total rip off. This was my first time going to a salon and it’ll be my last. Box dye wouldn’t treat me like this

I have to say she is just wonderful, she is so talented , enthusiastic and passionate about her place there. She also explained every product and suggestions while we went along – I just cannot say enough good things about her. I am in LOVE with my colouring/baby lights and cut. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat, everyone looks like they are having so much fun. Lastly, wine and mimosas during an appointment is the best thing ever! Thank you Bea and The Loft!

After a long search for a stylist who would do a dope job on my very short hair, I booked an appointment with Heinz. He did a wicked job and was happy to take my hair to the next level. The salon itself utls very clean and open, with friendly staff and an easy booking system. Don't let the downtown location out you off from making an appointment, I was able to park directly outside the front door and there was tons of parking. 10/10 recommend!

I have been coming to this establishment for years. Always great service from my hair stylist. The salon it self though needs a lot of work. Nothing has changed since the 90's. If you have come here you know that the assistance have a hard time controlling the temperature of the wash stations, there is dust as thick as ever on all the light fixtures and a lot of the place is falling apart. I only come back because of my hair stylist, other wise I would take the high rate and go somewhere that is more ecstatically pleasing. I figured after the new ownership took over a couple years ago there would have been updates. The only thing that was updated was a photo backdrop and they started serving liquor.

Yay I’m blonde now! I actually had a hair fail last The Loft saved the day with a full correction by hooking me up with Heinz Isbach, an amazing stylist with 30 years in the business. I couldn’t believe the transformation. Heinz is now my stylist! I deserve the best, right? So glad my hair is no longer a disaster. Heinz colour corrected everything and my hair is Heath soft and brilliant. He came to the rescue! If you need perfect colour, I recommend Heinz.

A stylist who cut my hair one week earlier quoted me $120-130 to get it dyed my usually color. I was shocked when the bill came to $167. I was humiliated and uncomfortable with the price jump. But I decided to pay for it without asking to see the manager. I'm on a budget and do not think it should have cost that much. I have visited another fancy salon which uses the Redken color line on Roblin, and another small salon which uses the same Redken color line on Henderson highway. They have charged me in the $120-130 range as well just for the dye. In contrast, Revolutions in Polo park charges me $130 (with tax)for a cut, dye, and style (not the Redkin color line). I was prepared to pay the extra money and only get the dye done at the Loft for $130, as the Redkin color line is best for red heads. But when I was charged $167 it was just too expensive. Please note my hair cut is the shortest and most layered it has ever been. My roots were only 8 weeks old. There is no way the stylist had to magically use more product to get the job done. I always get the same color process done. In April, I went to Chatters and was quoted a price and they stuck by it.

I booked a balayage appointment with Tahlau in order to go back to blonde. I went to a salon in the past that dyed my naturally blonde hair a brownish green when I just asked for a warmer blonde. So I made this appointment to go back to what I was used to. I showed Tahlau a photo of a natural looking blonde balayage and was very excited to see the results. When she brought me to the mirror and started to blow dry my hair I noticed that she literally just bleached my entire head of hair that was healthy before. I was very shy so I didn't say anything, but she said in her own words "I'm gonna put some heat protection in because I just completely destroyed your ends with bleach". When I have gotten highlights in the past at other salons, I left with my hair feeling healthy, but at this salon I came out with my hair feeling destroyed and with a look I did not want at all. My hair is incredibly damaged and I did not receive the look that I wanted at all. I feel so insecure with how I look now and I would not recommend this salon.

I received services from Heinz. Heinz is THE BEST that has ever styled my hair in 35 years. Normally when I receive services I end up crying and upset due to the stylist not understanding and or unfortunately not being able to meet my "vision". Not only did Heinz make my hair look natural and framed my hair to suit my face shape but he did this effortlessly. He picked a color that accentuates my natural ash blonde tones but also was fresh and bright! I Would STRONGLY suggest anyone looking for their hair to be taken care of to see Heinz. No one will ever touch my hair again but Heinz.

I had my hair appt with Gina. Gina and I took about 10 minutes at the beginning to talk about the colour and outcome I expected. I had specific examples and photos to also go along with what I wanted. Lets just say I ended up with NOTHING how i wanted it and was forced to pay 130$ for it. I broke down into tears and was/am still very upset with the outcome. When still at the salon Gina tried to re-understand what I wanted and swore she could fix it. I let her try while still there and it ended up worse than before. At this point I had already been there for 4 1/2 hours. When speaking to the manager and owner of the salon they were not sympathetic, they did offer to do a session to fix my hair, however the damage had already been done. Overall I am extremly disappointed and upset about the customer service, damage to my hair that was done, and the price I was still forced to pay.

Paid for tape in extensions and coloring , the extensions were supposed to last at least 2 months before re doing them, they were falling down in less than. 3 days. Also the color started to fade in less than a week. Stylist claimed it was natural....did them again and now same thing is happening. Overpriced and terrible service. Last year was great now a complete disaster!

I would not recommend this place at all. I went for a cut and highlights and came out with my hair ruined. The cut was fine as all I asked for was a straight edged long bob one length. However the colorer left dye in my hair so long it fried my hair and permanently damaged it. I have very fine hair and the woman walked away for over 1.5 hours to deal with 2 other clients and did not check in with me. She did not ask what highlight color I wanted, she gave me unnatural looking streaks and when I asked her to fix it I was given attitude that she knew what was in style and best for my hair. When I emailed The Loft to explain what happened, they offered me a free manicure or pedicure and said they couldn't do anything else. This place has terrible customer service and this isn't the first time I have been there. I would not recommend at alll.

Hi, I have been to this place four times now. First, i went here for seeing the stylist to get an estimate and idea of what i was getting. Then, i went here fo get my colour, 3rd time to get my colour fixed. And finally to get my colour retoned. The photo that i had shown for the hair colour i wanted, was totally different from how it turned out. I was definitely very upset. And then i had to go back and spend 3 hours again to get it fixed. Although, I didn’t want to. So during this appointment, they did not style my hair and said that would cost extra. Well, that wasn’t my fault that the colour wasn’t done properly. I had asked for Balayage, but she gave me kind of Ombre which looked totally different, most of my hair was still my natural hair colour. A d she did not show me the colour in the mirror. After she finished my hair colour, she told me not to go in water, which she knew the reason i was getting hair colour because i was going for vacation to Mexico, I wonder why she couldn’t tell me beforehand that red colour comes off. Not to forget that while washing my hair, the water was all inside my shirt and my ears, making me wet with cold water. My Last hair colour was blonde balayage so i had no idea that red colour will come off if i wet my hair. And when i went to get hair retoned, i washed my hair after few days and noticed my hair was all damaged. I contacted the stylist but she said i just need a haircut. My hair was damaged and rough entirely. I had never seen my hair like this before. The charges were super pricy and not worth it at all. I will never go here again. Very unfortunate, the stylist was a pro in blonde hair colour but she still agreed to give ref hair colour to me, instead of suggesting someone else. ???? I would not recommend this place, it is very busy, sometimes they will ask u for coffe and water and other times they won’t. Some staff will smile at you and others won’t. Not a great place!!

I have been a customer of the loft back when it was salon one eleven and sets. I have had several stylists and estheticians in those years and always remained loyal. I recently stopped coming to the salon as my esthetician left the company. My feedback to this salon and owner would be the vibe in the salon is very pretentious and is not welcoming. The past owner although I wasn’t her client would ALWAYS smile or say hi or acknowledge me. The loft never made me feel like they valued my business. I would also recommend that people not smoke by the back door where the estheticians work as it smells and as you are in the beauty industry, this does not promote health and beauty. I wish this salon all the best and would particularly like to recognize Kristen who although I was never her client, she always acknowledged me, held herself to a high standard and if I didn’t know better conducted herself as is if she was the owner or manager and face of the salon. She is a great asset to your salon and you are lucky to have her. Also, Andrew is amazing! I truly miss his friendly demeanour and positive attitude. He was one of the few people that didn’t act like he was better then everyone and treated all clients with the same respect. You can have an expensive beautiful salon that serves alcohol and promotes a bougee lifestyle but none of that matters if the vibe is horrible. I hope you will learn to be humble and greatful for the business you have.

Was just offered a free haircut from a Mckensie Jefferies for an long haired model. Everything was good until she wanted to see my front, there was no mention of needing someone with no bangs, which who walks around with bald in the front. No bangs lol it said in her ad long hair for a layered cut . Felt so crushed, my bf who is white said discrimination when he saw my texts between me and her .just seems they want white models. This place is too foolish. Was planning on coming here after I checked it out but so far I don't like how this place treats people. Had an bad experience with the loft, I don't recommend them, They are way over priced as I seen in their other reviews, The Mesh Hair Design located in Portage place mall are awesome, can get hair highlights and a hair cut for under 100$. And once they are done they ask you if it's what you like and you can request touch ups without paying extra. They even groom your hair with good products and oils. Plus even straighten if you want. I'm happy with my hair, they are really good. My hair was flat and dead. They brought it back to life. Check out the The Mesh Hair Designs. Really nice people

I went to this salon to get hair color done and I was trying different shade first time from dark brown hair. I liked the color that they did on my hair even though it was lighter brown than I expected. Only after 1 wash it started fading away and just in 10 days my hair is much lighter and golden which I never expected. As per my hair stylist color should have stayed atleast for 4-5 weeks. I talked to my hair stylist right after first hairwash, she told me that she will book appointment which she delayed 3 times. It's been more than 15 days and my hair color faded so fast. I am very disappointed about it. I would never recommend to anybody.

I’m a recently returning client, having been a Sets client many years ago. I returned amid Covid and I was very happy with the measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety—Covid policy in place. Temperature was taken, hands sanitized. Everyone was in masks. The chairs are very spaced out and there were no blow dryers in use when I was there. I was very pleased with my service, as usual. They have a great selection of products, which is nice as it is the easiest time to buy your hair products—right after getting a new cut/colour.

About 4 months ago I went to do a hairstyle and I asked how much it would take to do a straightening. I was informed that it would be around 200 dollars. Today, I had the unfortunate experience of knowing that the amount charged is per hour. That is, the more experienced the hairdresser the less you pay. I've had this kind of treatment for over 10 years and it NEVER took more than two hours. Today, I had to pay 452 dollars because the hairdresser took 4.5h to get the job done. To help I was even attended by a rude receptionist.FOOL ME ONCE,SHAME ON YOU.FOOL ME TWICE,SHAME ON ME!!
