I’d have given them 5 stars but it took some time for someone to get me set up and feel that it would have been more organized if they were to have a receptionist welcome you as you entered the spa. My friend and I had horrible results after getting our nails done at lotus. My shellac all chipped and cracked after a few days. They filed the old shellac off with just a hand nail file and broke the skin on multiple fingers by being too rough and literally filing it down. My fingers were sore when we left, the shellac was so thin, and colour selection not the greatest. My friend's nails didn't come out at all what she described to them. She paid $60 for bumpy, thin biogel that were way shorter than she wanted. One of hers came off a week later and she was bleeding because the gel was attached to her skin. Will not be going back.

I went with a friend to get a mani/pedi. My friend seemed to have a pretty decent experience (she had the older gentleman looking after her, and he seemed quite attentive) however I got a young woman who seemed, while very nice, as though she doesn't care much for her job. We arrived on time for our appointment, were seated fairly promptly, and while the one technician immediately started looking after my friend I sat there for 10 minutes or so with my feet in the water. I wasn't sure who was looking after me, turns out the girl scrubbing the other pedicure stations was. She eventually started doing whatever it is they do for about 5 minutes (this was my first time getting either treatment), but stopped to start looking after this other woman (quite hurriedly, so she didn't seem to be getting good service either, frankly) who had walked in, which kind of sucked. Eventually my friend's technician kind of scolded her into returning to me (I waited another 10 minutes or so), and she rushed through the pedicure, which sucked in comparison to what my friend received. I think, over all, my pedicure took maybe 15 minutes? Compared to what I was told it would take that seems extremely short, and I feel very shortchanged. Then the manicure started; she pushed very hard on my cuticles (they're now mostly swollen and sore, maybe this is standard but I kind of doubt it) and she painted very quickly and left my one hand in the gel solar dryer and my other in front of a fan. I guess she decided the nails weren't drying quickly enough so both hands went in the dryer and my nail polish ended up burning (?) or something, with streaks of a much darker red throughout my nail. She ended up having to paint over the finished polish to try and even it out, which kind of worked, but then I didn't have a top coat any more. After all of this (about 2.5 hours of work/waiting) my nail polish starting chipping off that very night! Today, about 24 hrs after the service, every finger has a significant chip. I now also see that the nail polish is kind of bubbly from being put on too quickly, and the streaking is still noticeable. I mean, I could do that and get at least 2 days of wear if I had done it myself. I'm extremely disappointed. So much for treating myself - at least my friend had a good experience, and that's what matters to me. I suspect it really depends on who you get here, I think the older lady or gentleman do a much better job, so stay away from the young lady. She's really nice, just not very competent and certainly doesn't care much. Or just extremely stressed, I don't know, but it doesn't really matter.

I found my perfect nail spa. Went there on Monday for an acrylic fill with shellac polish. I only waited 15 min for a walk in appointment. The spa technician worked so carefully and gently with my nails and spent a long time getting the shape absolutely perfect (coffin). This was the best manicure I’ve had. I decided to come back today (Friday) with my mom for Deluxe Pedicures and a shellac manicure for her. The pedicure lasted an hour and was so luxurious and thorough including a scrub, a cooling clay leg mask, and parrafin hot wax foot treatment. The polish and nail shape is perfect and they were very thorough with removing dead or dry skin. My moms manicure was perfect too. The spa is quiet, relaxing, clean, and peaceful. The spa staff are quiet, patient, kind and focus very hard on your service. They do not sit and talk or gossip in their native language. They prioritize clients with appointments and will not rush your service if someone walks in, just to make a quick buck. We will always come here now.

I recently moved back to Waterloo after being gone for 2 years. Nail salons can change so much in 2 years, so I wanted to test a few out before deciding which one to use as my "go to". I started with the Lotus Nail & Skin Spa, and don't think I need to try out any other salon. It is a peaceful, clean and welcoming nail salon, and my nails (a basic shellac manicure) turned out perfectly. I had a great experience and I'll definitely be going back!

I came here yesterday evening with my friend for a 6pm appointment and we both left fairly happy and I love how my manicure turned out! However, my cuticles and around my nails are very sore and they are cut and I told the lady that I had really sensitive cuticles and that they bleed most times whenever I get my nails done in general and she was still very rough. I'm not really sure if this is a formal complaint or not, but I just wanted to make that clear. I'm happy with my nails, but I am not happy about how the results were achieved.

I went here because I was given a gift card. I thought I would only go the one time I didn't think of myself as much of a pedicure type of guy. But I ended up really enjoying it. I had a spa pedicure the first visit, my feet were smooth and looked so much better! I guess my girlfriend was right! My next visit I decided to get both pedicure and manicure (I think I was talked into it but I also DID need it), the lady did a super job and I was hooked. I will continue to go probably once a month. To be honest I never really thought I needed a pedicure or manicure but the experience was so good the first time I wanted to keep going back. I use the time to just relax and the atmosphere is excellent for that! The shop is clean and everyone is so friendly! When I was there yesterday I saw someone come out from a massage and they looked so relaxed, I think I will give that a try at my next appointment but I will definitely keep going for my pedicure! Who knew it would be such a great experience?!

I always come here and I always leave with crooked nails. this time the shape, colour, and nail art are beautiful but my pointer, middle, and ring finger on my left hand are insanely crooked. I even asked the man doing my nails if he could make them more even, but all he did was make them narrower. I’m going back tomorrow and hopefully someone else can fix this.

I used to love this salon. Have been going there for over a year, 1-2 per month to have my acrylic nails filled. Went in earlier today to make an appt, asked if they had time around 5. I stressed that I realized that I was booking last minute which I don’t normally do, and they assured me it was okay. Went in at 4:50 and sat and sat in the waiting area, they all saw me but didn’t say anything. The salon was busy and I figured I’d have to wait a little bit. Finally at 5:40 I spoke up asking what was going on. My regular nail girl said “we don’t have time to do your nails today, did you book an appt?” I looked at the girls who booked me in, and they simply looked the other way. If they didn’t have time they should have said so. I was very upset as I work in the plaza and have referred a lot of customers and friends. I will not be going back there again.

Ana is very rude and unprofessional. I saw her being blunt to customers many times and decided not to go to this place anymore. To One of the clients Ana literally finished to do her nail and asked the lady to leave but the lady said she had scheduled not only manicure but also pedi. I saw her talking about clients after they leave, in vietnamese and it was clearly not a nice comment since all her coworkers laughed maliciously...discourtesy and bad manners are a horrendous attitude in any business.

I do not suggest having dipping powder done here as they do not know how to do it properly. Some staff can be very friendly, especially one woman who’s station is located in the back. I find the time management skills are lacking, I have had a few times now, where I made an appointment and had to wait 45 mins to be seen. I wouldn’t suggest going here :(

I've been to many nail salons in the area and this is hands down the best one. The place is very clean, the decor is modern and the staff are extremely friendly, who work very hard to make their customers happy. I took my mom here for her birthday and the girl worked slowly and diligently to make sure her nails were perfect. She was also so patient and understanding when my mom decided to switch the colour she originally picked after seeing it on the first nail. I was back at the salon today and again, the staff were so friendly and detail-oriented. They even gave out a small Christmas gift which was the sweetest gesture! I highly recommend this salon and won't be going anywhere else!

Arrived at 7:30 with my daughter and signed in. At 8, they acknowledged us, asked what we were they for, and set us up in chairs soaking our feet. While we waited, another customer became annoyed that she was there for an appointment; they had started her nails, but they moved on to service someone else. She began to file them herself! We decided to give it a bit more time, but as 8:40 approached, with no sign that they were even going to begin our pedicures, we abandoned the now cold water and began to dry our feet to go. Though the staff was only a foot away, and could not have missed us preparing to leave, no one made eye contact, much less addressed what was happening. Understandable that a business such as this gets very busy unexpectedly - that's the nature of walk-ins - but it would be appreciated if they had just told us when we arrived that the wait would be over an hour, or better yet - that they just didn't have time that evening. If they had even offered one apology or acknowledged the wait (or even our presence!), I would return again as have been there before and always left satisfied. i got a full set of nails and i came in with a very simple design for them which they said they could do but my nails turned out not even close to the picture not even the right colours and the design was pretty off but on top of that the top coat was blotchy and some parts of each nail and shiney and smooth and some are rough and dry. they don’t look terrible but definitely not what i was expecting for a simple design worth $55. other than that staff was nice

One of the worst shelallacs that I ever had! It took them 2 hours and half to do my nails and only in a week the tips of my nails are broken and the colour is gone! There are bumps all over my nails, very uneven! I don’t recommend it at all!

I gave it a second try and again was so disappointed. Shellac mani and pedi lasted 8 days before getting chips and lifts on 6 fingers and a toe. Normally it lasts and looks great for weeks. When I made an appointment to come in and have it fixed I was made to wait half an hour. Customer service and experience is very poor.

I'd have to say this was my worst nail experience. The woman doing my nails seemed to struggle through it which defeats the entire purpose of going to a salon. More importantly, my friend hardly recieved what she paid for. Her nails were cut below the nail bed, when her cuticles were done she bled on every finger, and the woman only did one coat of a light polish so it hardly looked like polish had gone on. It appeared she was rushing through my friend to get to a regular customer. Overall, the atmosphere was awkward (we sat in silence the whole time, no music or tv) and the product we recieved was not at all worth the cost.

This is absolutely the worst nail salon I have ever been to. READ TO THE END! I have never written a review on a site before, but I feel I have to protect other people. I had an appointment at 4:30 and I was left waiting for 10 mins, which in itself isn't horrible. However, two other people left while I was there because they had appointments and were left waiting 30 mins. I was getting acrylic nails put on and when the young guy was cutting the nails down he cut my finger next to the nail he was cutting. After that a woman took over and applied pressure and stopped the bleeding. She continued to work on my nails until it came time for the polish. She gave me the colours to look at and then left me sitting there for another woman to finish a client and come and paint my nails. Finally got my nails painted. The whole experience lasted an hour and a half! Here is the best part....NOW I HAVE AN INFECTION AROUND MY NAIL. PUS IS OOZING OUT AT THE NAIL BED. The woman kept pushing back my nail bed with her dirty finger nails. Please don't give these people your business. There are many other places to go.

One star for the waxing. She examined the length of my underarm and then proceeded to wax. I told her this was my first time getting it waxed professionally (a friend had done it once). After about 8 painful goes on my one underarm I look and see my entire underarm is covered in blood and the hair is not pulling. She redipped the stick in the wax each time through this. I had to have her stop with only one underarm half done. She told me it needed to be longer, which I could of been told prior to the waxing or within the first 3 tries. Already had a nail appointment booked, everything went well. 4 stars for nail service. It's been 3 hours and my underarm is still extremely sore.

This was the worst shellac manicure I’ve ever had. The woman filed my nails and trimmed my cuticles so carelessly; it was so fast that I don’t see how she could have even been attentively looking at the job she was doing. My nails currently have no shape and are so jagged they keep getting caught on my clothing. In addition, there are still pieces of my old colour visible, as she did not remove it very thoroughly. I’m typing this review from the parking lot - the first thing I plan on doing when I get home is filing my nails to fix the job this woman did. Highly dissatisfied with my experience here and will not be returning.

Terrible experience. Absolutely botched my nails. While removing shellac polish the woman scraped my nails so hard that she removed parts of the nail bed as well as split one of my nails. When I asked her what she was doing she said I will fix and proceeded to apply glue to fix the split. It didn't work of course. She really did not seem to care.
