Omggg I'm still obsessed with my nails from 8 days ago!!! CC blessed me with the most natural perfect and prettiest nails ever. I had a TERRIBLE experience 2 weeks or so ago before I came in to get my nails healed by CC. I was so welcomed her and made feel relaxed and my experience with CC was so genuine and now I never want to stop seeing her. All the staff are super nice and they'll treat you like their own. CC was very clean, professional, gentle and so caring. She even recommended a natural home made wax for my upper lip and gave me a few tips in terms of my nails. Next time, I REALLY want a pedi besides a mani done by her. CC is so professional, I just can't!!! I literally wanted to hug her, that's how happy she's kept me until now (8 dys later). You know your nail tech's a real one when your nails still be looking dope! Thank you CC, I hope you'll still be open when I come back to hopefully get dip powder on my natural nails (I hope by then my nails have grown!). Thanks to California Nails I no longer am scared nor traumatized to get my nails done. I am sooo happy nothing hurt my nails nor made my fingers bleed! Thank you guys for being professionals who love their job and love to put smiles on your customers. I was recommended by a good friend of mine and I have already recommended so many others to you guys. I truly wished you were located in Kitchener though! But it's definitely worth the trip ;)

Just got my nails done for the first time at California Nails & Spa! The place was very clean and the staff was friendly. I got an acrylic refill with shellac on top and also a broken nail fixed all for $45, which is extremely well-priced in my opinion. I recommend booking an appointment as they do get busy! All in all, I'm very happy with my nails and will definitely be going back. :)

I called 2 weeks ahead for a bridesmaid party of 7 girls (including the bride). As soon as we arrived, we didn't have to wait, they took us right away. I appreciated that they had enough staff to do all our nails at the same time. The service is really great and prices are reasonable. They also accommodate bigger groups well. I would recommend for groups and for individuals, I'll definitely be back!

I've been getting my nails done at California Nails & Spa for the last 6 months and I've had a great experience every time. You're welcomed by staff members once you enter and they offer a wide variety of colours to choose from. I always get the dipping powder for my nails, which can last for up to 4-6 weeks before I decide go back to get them redone. The stations are cleaned for every client and they sanitize their hands and your hands before they start doing anything to do your nails. They're honestly very well priced for the service and quality they offer. Would highly recommend! Also, would recommend booking an appointment by calling in advance, they can get busy during the evenings.

I love this place! I have tried going other places but no one does as good of a job as these guys! I hate bubbly thick looking acrylics but they always make my nails look as “natural” as possible by making them thin but strong. I’ve never broken a nail they’ve done on me. I love coming in and they are always able to book me in for my last minute appointments! 100% recommend and always tell people to go here! ????

They pushed me into doing the dip nails (where they repeatedly dip your finger in a powder colour and then put shellac over it to protect it). My nails look sooo nice and sparkly and they are still on.. it's been probably 4 weeks..

CiCi did an amazing pedicure with decals, she is definitely worth a visit!! however, manicure tech doing my shellac nails was careless. This place is super busy with constant walkins so it takes forever, and they're a little overpriced for bio gel nails. Pedicure by CiCi was definitely the highlight.

Service was not great at all.. nails look fine (uneven lengths and didn’t do what I asked). I called and asked about pricing and brought only the amount agreed on and when I went to pay they tried to charge me double. When said I only had that amount they made me go to my car and see if I had extra cash. Will not be returning. So rude and embarrassing.

I've been here a few times now and they're amazing. I would recommend booking an appointment but even if you don't, they do their best to minimize wait times. Their shellac manicures last the longest out of any nail salon I've been to and they constantly recheck their work as they go to ensure everything looks perfect. Even with them double checking their work, they're able to finish the manicure at a fairly quick pace. BONUS: They have a stamp card program! This is definitely the only place I go to now.

Terrible experience took my step mom and step sister almost cost me 300$ and it took over a hour to paint my toe nails I wasn't able to even get my fingers done because they took so long ever two seconds the one lady kept telling me over and over how much everything cost and was very rude about it like I didn't have the money! They were rude to my little sister trying to change her mind and spoke down to her! This place is a poor excuse for a business don't waste your time or money! Our one nail tech sat on her phone the whole time! I'm currently in the salon we have been here for almost two hours my moms toes are not done nor are my sisters nether or them have paint on there nails ! Still they have been moved twice and still not done yet! They keep taking on new Clients and leaving us to start a new job! Please don't waste your money may I add the re use the disposable foot scrubs

Unfortunately, this was probably the worst nail salon experience I've had. They we're busy which I understand, but they kept bouncing me around getting different people to tend to my nails. I did not feel like a priority and they made me wait a long time between the stages of getting my nails done. Near the end my nails weren't even done and I wanted to leave. I would have preferred they tell me they did not have time for me instead of making me wait. Also, the cleanliness of the place was questionable and I was slightly disgusted to say the least. My nails did look beautiful, that I can say for sure and the majority of the staff was pleasant. I did not leave a tip which I've never done before and I will not be returning. I hope this is taken into consideration and some changes are made.

My nails chipped 2 days after my manicure. And when I came back to get them fixed I was told it was my fault they chipped. All because I won't let them use the Dremel tool on my nails and destroy them, that tool makes my nails very weak. It's interesting how my usual nail place never uses that tool and the polish lasts 2-3 weeks with minimal chipping. Won't be returning, which is unfortunate because the design the lady did was perfect. Awful customer service . Never ever blame the client. Just fix the job and not take 40 mins to do so.

I have been to California Nails three times now. I am always impressed by how clean it is and how consistently fantastic the service is! My shellac manicures easily last 4 weeks without any chipping and always look amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and excited about your nails! This past time they add an acrylic tip to a nail that had cracked and strengthening dip to a few weaker nails to ensure that my shellac manicure looked perfect and would last:)

got my nails done once at this place and they overcharged me they ended up giving me back $7 as i complained for the price, so i ended up giving them a second chance and my nails turned out worse they aren't even all the same size, i asked for a coffin shape and i got more so an oval shape and it has not even been a week and my nail polish is chipping, wouldn't recommend this place, we had an appointment for 4:30 got there at exactly 4:30 and they told us to wait outside?? stop overbooking if you don't have room!

This is my favourite spot to get my nails done in all of Waterloo. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and they never disappoint. I highly recommend their UV gel with shellac or dip nails. My nails are always flawless and last at least 3-4 weeks no matter which nail tech takes care of me. They have such a huge variety of colours so I never have a problem switching it up/trying something new. They are very clean and most especially now during the COVID-19 pandemic reopening. They are sure to thoroughly sanitize everything that each customer comes in to contact with, request that all customers wear a mask, and ensure safe social distancing measures. Work stations are spread out with plexiglass barriers. I highly recommend this place especially students in the waterloo area!

Hour late starting my appointment, and once they finally began listened to them lie to people coming in (walk in and appointment) about wait time. '10-15 minutes' more like 45+. The nails were fine, but the tech rushed it all the way, hopped to another client halfway through leaving me waiting, them came back to me leaving the other woman waiting.... Honestly, I don't care if you need to reschedule me or move it a bit later, but lying is not okay. You waste everyone's time. I could have run errands for an hour and come back. The claim of 'soon' was obviously misleading at best. I won't be back.

Been 3 times now and every time I have been exceptionally happy!! The powder dip is my new love! $40+ bucks per manicure that lasts me 3+ weeks WITHOUT CHIPPING OR WEAR & TEAR!! Check out my sparkly xmas nails!! Not exactly what I wanted walking in, but lack of communication was my fault and she worked with me to make me happy!! I walked out all smiles and looking forward to showing them off!! 4weeks later... Back again because the place is the best I have found and the prices are so reasonable!! Tried this place for the first time based on seeing someone else’s nails from there. The nail artist did a nice job on my nails, however I was very put off by how bossy and opinionated she was. I’d already made up my mind with 1 of 2 colours I selected and she told me the other one was nicer and better for Christmas. She then asked me how long I wanted my nails and I said fairly short. She complained the whole time about how short my nails were (even though I told her I can’t do my job with longer nails). She then asked if I wanted nail art and I said I wanted a very thin line across each nail... she says back to me with so much attitude “Just a line???” and then tells me I should do pretty ribbons with bows. I said no. I never do nail art and that’s too much. She said a line is boring. When we got to the nail art part, I said black or gold. She decides gold for me and does a thick line near the bottom of my nail. Not what I asked for but I’m tired of fighting for what I want. Price was good, quality was good. Sanitization was ok - she didn’t have me wash my hands after filing. Pampering was non-existent. No hand massage or lotion. No listening or respecting the customer’s preference. I’d use this place as a backup but I think I’ll stick to Pedi & Nails at Erb & Westmount

I had an appointment for 2:15 but got here literally 3 minutes before close Lynn and Tommy seen I had 3 broken nails and was in a lot of pain, so they actually stayed almost an hour fixing and perfecting and made sure everything was just how I liked it! I can't explain how much this amazing customer service means to me! Also when doing the coffin nails Lynn really goes all out and makes sure they are all Perfectly straight and match!!! Then she matted my nails and as someone who has been getting nails done for 10 years ... you need to try this place!!!! If I could I'd give 10 stars !!! I booked an appointment because I had a limited amount of time. After waiting several minutes I was seated in a pedi chair. The man turned on the massage and left me. No water to soak and he said the woman would be with me soon. 20 min later I reset the massage chair since I didn't want the cycle to end I still hadn't been started. Eventually I was served a quick pedi. Nothing special, but not terrible. I had also booked a shellac mani. Quickest and worst work I've ever seen. She barely shaped, didn't touch my cuticles and the polish was uneven in thickness so colour is uneven. Lots of polish colours but poorly organized. Too many clients and not enough staff. Won't be back, not worth my time or money.

Terrible. Complete waste of money and time. Loud blaring music, long wait, i had to wait extra because one person started doing my nails but didn't know how to do French. They were very rough and my nails hurt badly that night. The worst part was that I asked no less than 5 times for a particular service and she said yeah yeah yeah and it turned out she didn't do what I asked at all. My nails looked pretty bad afterward...they didn't file them enough so they were very wide looking too. I was so sad and disappointed--and my fingers hurt-- when i got home. Go somewhere else.

I've been here for manis, pedis and waxing, and always left satisfied with the results. It's not the most luxurious atmosphere (particularly the dinky little waxing room with the flickering lighting) but they do a good job, have reasonable pricing and can usually make time for walk-ins fairly quickly.

Great place, very pretty to look at, although I got acrylics and my nails are currently hurting 10 hours later. Very nice nail technician although never have I been to a nail salon where there is a set price for acrylics and the price was determined due to the length of the nails. Nails are all different shapes as I asked for coffin and some are filed down where they look stiletto. Don’t know if I’ll return.

So 8 months ago, I came here for a basic mani and pedi. I didn't want any coloured polish, so it was literally just the bare minimum of nail care. The people here were INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY. They are very professional and kind. I was a walkin but they tended to me straightaway. HOWEVER... Let's get to the actual quality of the manipedi. They were horrible. They did my feet first, then used the same equipment to do my hands. As a result, I developed an awful infection on the base of my thumbnail (where the nail meets the cuticle), and the nail actually had to be cut off so I had a gaping hole for months until it grew back out. Unfortunately, great service cannot ever make up for this mess. So 1 star it is.

This was my first time visiting California Nails and it certainly will not be the last! Atmosphere is very welcoming and the place is elegant and stunning on the inside. The place is spotless with COVID protocols in place and they clean before and after each customer. Staff is super friendly - Tom did an amazing job on my UV gel fill and is very precise with shape and colour! They have a huge selection of colours and offer multiple services. I would definitely recommend California Nails to anyone looking for great service and results, cleanliness, friendly staff, and reasonable prices for top quality manicures! Terrible communication, they usually don't understand you, and unable to explain what you ask, alot of times even though I booked an appointment I have to wait more than half an hour, however most of the time I like my nails and they are durable.

It was a clean, welcoming environment and my nails turned out beautifully. Tom did a wonderful job and was very friendly, was able to do exactly what I wanted and the prices are great especially as a student! I was a walk in and they were able to take me right away. I got a pedicure and acrylic set which ended up costing $88 before tax and tip. I got gel polish on both my hands and feet because I dont like waiting for it to dry and it is less likely to chip. For the manicure, I provided them with a picture and they were able to match it very well. The pedicure was great but the nail polish is a little uneven on the hands (easy to tell since it is a semi translucent polish). Also, they never pushed my cuticles back on my fingers. In total I was there for a little over 1.5 hours. I will go back since it is a very convenient location but will have to make sure they push back the cuticles and apply the polish more evenly. Overall a good experience, everyone was really friendly. Enjoyed chatting with some of the other customers.

Brutal customer service. My daughter had an appointment at 3:00 and they didn't start her nails until 5:30. They took people with appointment times after hers before her. Then they cut her nails to short all but two because the girl doing it left to do someone else's nails making her wait again. My daughter was frustrated and almost in tears when I arrived. I asked why this happened and they just kept brushing it off. They took advantage of a teenage girl knowing that she probably wouldn't say anything. Brutal not recommended.

This salon is absolutely horrible, staff is very unprofessional and rush you, cant understand half the things they are saying to you and the selection of nail polish is ridiculous. My daughter had a issue with her nail polish and the owner did nothing about just offered to put more top coat on, when she was getting her nails filled, they didnt even have her wash her hands, as it is part of the nail fill process, this salon is not clean or organized. I do not reccomend this salon to anyone.

Lynn and Cathy do an amazing job. Don’t trust the other workers to do a decent job, your nails will come out uneven and not what you wanted. Don’t walk in ever, especially if there are people waiting. Better off booking an appointment minutes before you arrive or you’ll be waiting for hours. They prioritize appointments over walk ins. But if either Lynn or Cathy do your nails, it’s worth the headache.

New to the area and had recommendations for this salon. So it was my first time here and they did a pretty good job.. my sister got shellac nails with a sparkly design and it looked really nice. I wanted to do dip polish since that's what I've been used to for so long and it didn't turn out how the salon I used to go to did it. Here the lady made my nails look really bubbly and chunky. Honestly a few of my nails look like we tried to do the 100 coat challenge. I did ask the lady to shave them down a few times to make it less bubbly and chunky but the end result still came out like that. I will give them points for being friendly, decently clean and doing a clean polish job as well as a pretty design. Overall I would go back here, but I would skip the dip polish and probably go back to shellac. If you're a lady like me who loves the dip polish, maybe try another salon first, probably one thats more experienced with it perhaps?

They don't manage their time well, even if you make an appointment they take walk ins before your appointment and then you end up waiting, I've waited for over half an hour before. They are not friendly.

I don't get my nails done often but when I do, I always go to California Nails, they do a fantastic job. I got this beautiful acrylic lavender French tip set done and I was super happy with them!! My nails always turn out exactly how I envision them if not better. Always great customer service and super affordable!! Please go here!!

I've been getting acrylic nails for the past 6 years and these were by far the worst I have ever had. I got them done on a Friday and by Saturday morning both of the thumbs had fallen off. I thought it was just a little mistake so I went back and they fixed them for free which I was pretty satisfied with but then 2 days latter another 2 had fallen off. the layer of acrylic she put on was so thin that simply peeling potatoes snapped them off. by the end of the week I was missing 3 nails and I didn't want to waste my time going back there so I took them off my self. ill give it to them, it was the easiest removal I've ever done since the acrylic just didn't adhere to my nails. I don't know if this was their way of saving money on materials but it was a complete waste of $40 on my end. there are so many better places that can do a better job of cheaper, don't waste your time

I made an appointment and got a full set of acrylics with shellac on top and a regular pedicure. Service was amazing and the place was super clean. LOVE MY NAILS! HIGHLY recommend. Very fair value.
