Wow! What a fantastic experience. My husband and I indulged in the Hammam & Gommage with 30 Minute Massage for my birthday and it was worth every penny. Afterwards we were both incredibly relaxed and our skin was baby soft. The spa is very professional and care is taken so you don't meet others in the hallways between treatments. We will be back.

It is not the real Hammam that you get in Turkey or Morocco etc. They used the same gloves for everyone, they tell you that they wash them professionally but the gloves cost less than. $0.50 to buy. They don't even scrub you the way it is done in other countries. They put soap on the gloves when you are not supposed to at all. What a waste of time and money. Also a Mexican women doing the work just like a Chinese person selling donair. I would NOT NOT NOT recommend this to my dog.

I’ve been here twice now. First time was with a friend, this time was alone. The first time was great although it did feel like a very short amount of time in the steam sauna. This time I called ahead and asked to extend the amount of time in the steam room which I was willing to pay for, and the receptionist suggested I add a body masque for 50$ which would extend my steaming by 15 mins. I did so and was hoping for a total of 45 minutes in the steam, but it ended up only being 30 minutes, despite paying extra. The gommage was nice. Afterwards, I had a 60 minute massage. I have been to many spas and had many massages and this one was one of the worst, unfortunately. I asked her if she could apply more pressure, but she barely did and it felt like gentle rubbing. It also felt like she was not very well-seasoned, like the movements she was doing were unfamiliar to her. I left feeling rushed and dissatisfied. It’s a shame because the service is very friendly and the interior is gorgeous and relaxing. I would have appreciated an option to extend the steam (and willing to pay more for that) as well as some consistency with the massage therapists.

Aaaah, sigh. I have been here twice. I live in Seattle and have considered driving up here next time I need a little spa time, rather than going to the well known spa we have here, which feels more like a loud gymnasium. Miraj is a warm and intimate space and the steam room is heavenly. The one upside of our gymnasium is that you can stay as long as you like, as it's communal. I would like to be able to spend a bit longer in the steam room/hammami here. The staff are lovely and kind. I was here in February and it looked like I'd had a face lift when I left ????.

The steam room and the gommage was nice. Although it is important to know that this is not the real hammam experience or gommage experience! It was just nice to have a steam and a deep cleaning. We had an oriental massage after our steam room experience which was a big disappointment. You could hardly feel any massage or effort. I checked with my friend and she had the exact same experience. An extremely light massage which you don’t feel anything, just someone rubbing some lotion on your skin! Overall, we were expecting a lot more.

This isn't your average spa. It's a Hammam and Gommage experience. This means you'll first strip naked (wear swimmers if you like) and sit in a special sauna. The sauna is very humid, instead of being a dry heat. For me this is much more bearable than a traditional sauna. You can turn off the heat in the sauna if it gets too much at any time. Then, you'll be scrubbed with exfoliants while lying on a stone slab. Thus isn't as unpleasant as it sounds, but did make me kind of feel like a thoroughbred racehorse. You'll then be hosed off with warm water. Thanks to the exfoliation you'll end up with amazingly smooth skin. We had a massage afterwards which was nice (pretty typical spa type relaxing massage). Overall a unique and relaxing experience.

What an experience! Absolute fell in love with the traditional morrocon atmosphere and the attention to detail. Great way to relax, get a good scrub and bond. Went for a mother daughter day definitely will never be forgotten :) The staff are extremely friendly and respectful. Make sure you visit the lounge after and try the sweetcake it has a hint of cardamom.

We had an amazing time, the ladies who took care of us during the hammam scrub and the massage were very professional. We felt like the spa was only ours as we did not see any other guests around (timing was well organised). Really liked the ambiance and the design of the spa. Only one suggestion would be to add a thicker towel on the stone of the hammam while laying down during the scrub to be a little bit more comfi. We will definitely come again.

we had our first experience by booking a couples package with a 30 min massage. first off as per the website there are 3 retail spots for parking in the back - follow those instructions if you don’t want to pay for parking. now we arrived 5 min ahead of our appointment. we had to wait a very short time as another couple was in before us. we were led into the change room and given the sarongs. there are lockers for your personal belongings and you take the key (on a rubber bracelet type band.) we were then led into the attached steam room. after about 15 minutes my wife was taken out first and started her scrub treatment. i was left in the steam for another 10 minutes or so. my wife was scrubbed fully in her bday suite and once done went back into the steam room while i was scrubbed. i was given a small towel to cover my man part. once done we were led back into the change room where we were given robes and could use the bathroom while waiting for the massage. the couple before us were still in theirs so we were led to the lounge to wait. well this was a little awkward as the first person came out and was sitting waiting there across from us for the other (and its not a very big area.) after a few minutes we were taken in to 2 separate rooms. now here is where i’m lowering the score. my masseuse at times dug her nails into me and it was quite uncomfortable. my wife said her masseuse just rubbed around and didn’t do much of anything. after the 30 minutes we were led back to the lounge. we had our biscuit and tea but at this point we needed to start driving back to pick up our kids at school and not worry about traffic. we asked the receptionist if we could go change but as someone else was now doing their treatment we couldn’t get into the change room. we then waited another 15 or so minutes before we could go back in. once in there we started to change and all of the sudden an employee just came in to get something from their storage closet? well guess what...my privates weren’t covered and i was fully exposed. when we went to pay we found out we could book the hammam without the massage which we would definitely do again.

The location is walking distance from Granville Island. I called to book a gommage and massage for my wife and I. I later learned the owner worked us in right at closing and came herself to close up so the receptionist could leave on time. Joy, who did the gommage, was very friendly, explained the process, and gave a great gommage and exfoliation. The whole experience was amazing. The steam room, gommage (exfoliation mitt scrub down in steam room), and massage were relaxing and invigorating. Lockers are provided to secure your belongings during the experience. You can also shower when finished in their private locker room if needed. There is a reason this place is listed as a top massage destination in North America. Will visit whenever back in Vancouver, and knowing this is part of the experience will make it more likely I'll be back to the city sooner than later.

From the moment I made my reservation, to the end of the appointment, the staff at Miraj were professional and considerate. The hammam and gommage feels like a foreign getaway, but the location is so convenient, right near downtown. I got a massage as well, and the staff member (I think her name was Julie or Julia) listening to my requests and personalized the treatment. I will definitely be back, and will recommend this place to friends!

Definitely a different experience, a scrub in steam... They will pump water on you as if we pour water on animal it's funny, I liked it. Massage was disappointing, problematic areas where more attention was required was totally ignored. Tea & cake/pastry where delicious.

I booked with a friend for her birthday and we are so glad we did. We absolutely loved the Hammam and gommage. The entire experience was so relaxing. It’s not a super modern looking spa but everything was private and clean. They have some toiletries in the bathroom (hair ties, make up remover and cotton pads) which was a nice touch. The only reason I knocked off one star was because of the massage. The masseuse was extremely chatty. She talked the entire time. I wasn’t able to fully relax because I felt like I had to engage in conversation. I’m the type of person who doesn’t want to make anyone else feel uncomfortable, so I didn’t tell her I would prefer not to talk (I would have felt bad, which I know is strange when I’m the paying customer). So then I ended up not really enjoying the massage experience. The tea and sweet cake in the lounge after were delicious and I love that we had the time there to relax and enjoy the tea and cake. They even added a candle on my friend’s cake which was a nice touch :-) Overall we really enjoyed it and will definitely return; I’ll just have to sum up the courage to tell the masseuse I would prefer a quiet massage.

An incredibly relaxing experience and top notch service. Visited Nov'21 so treatments were limited and showers & lounge were closed per COVID-19 health guidelines. Special bookings for couples and groups arranged on certain days only. Enjoyed an amazing day and will definitely book another visit soon!

The steam and body scrub were very very nice. Both my massage and my husbands massage was a 3 Star. My room was cold and bright. Pressure was not in the right places. The massage didn’t feel good....... I didn’t enjoy the massage and wanted to leave as soon as it was over but I was told that I had to wait and I couldn’t get my clothes out of the change room because another couple was inside.

They use the same gloves for exfoliation for all the customers I won't come back for health and hygienic matters and would recommend to anyone going for hammam to require a disposable gloves. Can't believe I paid over 220 and have such unpleasant experience in one of the most knownen spas in BC
