Best hair appointment we've ever had! Francesca was there to greet us with a friendly smile. She checked us in and offered us a refreshment right away - cappuccino, latte, tea, water, juice...etc. Sue was my hair stylist and Sara was my boyfriend's hair stylist - both very friendly and sociable. We were seated in a comfortable chair; in front of us was a small platter serving Mint Tea, and a warmed hand cloth and hand cream. Our hair appointments started with a full scalp, head, neck AND shoulder massage!! It was very well done, and very relaxing. Next was a relaxing hair wash, on a reclined, comfy chair. Both Sue and Sara were extremely good at hair cutting/styling. They made us feel welcomed and comfortable the whole time we were there. Afterwards, Sue sent me over to the make-up section, where Francesca gave me a mini-makeover with high quality Bioesthetique make-up! ALL of this was included in my 1hour "hair appointment"....AMAZING. ~~~~ Thanks everyone at Black 2 Blond. We will surely be back in the future~~~~ Regards, Cristina + Terry

The studio is the flagship for their product line and serves as an educational center for them as well. I have known them for 20+ years and have always trusted her guidance in style suggestions. Parking in the area is free and rediably available. Public transit is abundant with them being located on West 4th avenue near Alma.

Just had my first haircut at Black 2 Blond after following my favorite stylist in Vancouver, Aurelie Jarnet, there. The facility is everything I hoped for -- clean, spacious, and safe (no small consideration in the midst of a pandemic). And Aurelie is the best stylist I know. Tell her what you like or leave it to her creativity and skills and you will end up with a great cut!

Roxana did a fantastic job with my highlights and tint! She's such a pro! I'm loving my new look, and it's all thanks to her. She was super nice, always letting me know what she was doing with my hair. She also was super helpful with the colour selection and did a wonderful job with the conditioning treatment at the end. I would 100% recommend her and will book with her again when I need to do my touch up in a couple of months. Christine was also super nice and attentive when we tried to do my eyebrow tint. Unfortunately, the tint wasn't able to do much with softening my eyebrows, as they are way too dark. However, I enjoyed Christine's suggestions and service so much that I'm definitely coming back for an eyebrows waxing appointment in the near future. Thank you and Roxana, for referring me to Christine's services. Overall, I had a great experience. Everything was done safely, with masks, and stations were visibly sanitized after every client. I will most definitely come back.

I’ve seen many of the stylists here because I could never pick my favorite. They each bring something incredible to the table, depending on what you’re looking for! I went to Stephane recently, and his haircut was fantastic. I don’t feel I have to style it every day, his cut fits with my natural hair (for once!) Christine is an absolute delight in the spa - and her waxing is literally painless (didn’t know that was possible!!) I’m in love with the La Biosthetique line, it’s excellent for maintaining hair health. Better for finer, thinner hair.

I've been going to B2B for my haircuts for just over 2 years now and always love the quality and kindness of service from everyone at this salon. I usually get my hair cut by Dylan, who positively nails the variation in style I ask for every time and is an artist with scissors, but he wasn't available today so I booked in with Myra (also an artist) and got an exceptionally cute and textured haircut from her. She really took the time to talk to me about what I wanted done, and answer all my strange hair related questions. If you want a top notch experience, you really can't go wrong with this place.

Very poor customer service. No value for customers and their time. My wife booked her appointment in "Black to Blonde Salon" 3 months in advance, reconfirmed twice by phone and text messages. Appointment simply cancelled in a very short notice/ less than 30 minutes without any alternative options due to sickness of the stylist. In response to her request to be seen by other stylists she was told they will try to squeeze her to be seen by various stylist.The salon requests $200 deposit for any appointment booked more than one hour as the cancelation policy, the first time we charged double by the end as they forgot to apply the deposit. Skill and respect both are required for having a happy client. Do not recommend it this hair salon.

I started going to this salon when my stylist, the amazing Myra Caron, moved there about a year ago. The salon is open, airy and friendly. Never had a problem finding parking. Nice atmosphere. I highly recommend Myra. She is very experienced, professional, up to date, and, best of all, a truly lovely person. She really listens to you, makes good suggestions and does a great job. She cuts my thick curly hair expertly and does my blonde colour/highlights herself which is quite a job! Again, highly recommended.

Very nice salon, the products are excelent , however I wasn't happy with my haircut , I only asked for layers in my very VERY LONG hair, to create movement because my hair was too flat ....and I received a short flat straight hair cut, and I paid for the most expensive stylist in the salon $80 + 15% tip... I wouldn't recommend this place.... I had to go and buy hair extensions right after, and re-do the haircut in a way that I can put on the extensions... I am sorry but my experience wasn't amazing!... I didn't say flat and straight cut please ... I asked for layers and I only had one long layer , it is the worst haircut I ever had.

I have been going to B2B for about 2 years and my hair is looking great (if I do say so) - it's healthier due to the great cuts and products. Dylan (award winning) is my stylist and he is so good at making my hair look its best. I've also gone to the spa a couple of times for a facial and pedicure, and both are done in their own room away from everyone else, so they are relaxing. This is a friendly, professional place which always keeps to their scheduled time too, but on the one occasion when they were running late, I was called and advised early enough to go for coffee (good cafes nearby). A friend of mine goes there now too, and she loves it too. I think she sees Jamie, and her hair has been perfectly cut to suit her now! We're both impressed!

Literally the worst haircut I've ever had. I can't believe I paid so much of my hard-earned money to have to endure wearing a ponytail until I can grow it back out. It didn't even look good when I left and I am horrified thinking of what it will look like when I try to do myself. I actually cried after I left the salon. Can I have 10 inches of hair, $77 + tip and 1 hour of my life back? I will never set foot in this salon again.

She is the first stylist I’ve ever had that really listened to what I wanted and clarified with me all the way through. Keep in mind my review is of a haircut which took place later in the day with a specific hairdresser. It is likely you will have a much better experience with someone else. My hairdresser seemed really focused on finishing the haircut as fast as possible. Her techniques were odd and she didn't texture or layer my hair. I think this is because she specialises in women's hair. In the end, I wasn't satisfied but got rushed out.

First time at Black2Blond salon yesterday where I followed my long-term awesome hair stylist, Aurelie. The salon is beautiful, airy and bright with lots of natural light flowing through the large windows which creates a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Staff was friendly and you can tell they're true experts in their field. All the appropriate Covid safety measures were in place to make you feel safe (masks for everyone, sanitizing stations, ample physical distancing between clients...) which as an hypochondriac who refuses to pretty much go anywhere indoors these days, I really appreciated as it helped me relax to fully enjoy the experience and witness my hair being revived... My hair was a mixed bag of grey roots regrowth, highlights from last fall in one place, a succession of different colours from other salons and the visible consequences of my sad attempts at dying it myself during lockdown... In other words, my hair was a huge mess and a seemingly impossible challenge for any hair stylist. But Aurelie isn't just any hair stylist, she's an artist and as I knew she would, she brilliantly took up that challenge. She did not just fix my hair, she gave them the love they desperately needed, working her magic using the amazing almost all natural La Biosthétique products to provide my hair with much needed R&R and to create a beautiful natural looking result I am absolutely in love with! My hair are the softest and the shiniest they've been in months and the colour is absolutely perfect! Thanks a million Aurelie and Black2Blond for making me feel beautiful again! Looking forward to seeing you next time!

He gave me great insight, tips and education on styling/maintenance and of course gave it proper a nice trim. Highly recommended.

Lovely people and my stylist was kind and really great to talk to but I really wasn't that thrilled with my haircut. I have very big wavy hair and many people do not know how to style it properly and I specifically did not want my hair coming out looking like a poofy triangle. When I left, my hair felt like it had a bit too much product in it and she used a diffuser to dry only 80% of the hair so when I left it wasn't fully dry, making me think the length/shape was fine due to it still being weighed down by the dampness. Once it fully dried and I was able to get a better look, it had risen far too high and the shape is a triangle, there is no definition to frame my face and it unfortunately looks frizzier than when I arrived, which is exactly what I did not want. Don't get me wrong everyone was very knowledgeable and the products seem great, my stylist was very kind, the atmosphere was very professional and my split ends are gone but in my case I would not go back for a cut. I would maybe for a toner or colour possibly but as far as the shape of my hair goes I will need to have it fixed up with someone who better understands curly hair.

The salon hired a new stylist Marium and she absolutely destroyed my friend Alexis’ hair. She’s a good friend and I know her hair. It was healthy and beautiful. She walked out with hair broken up the entire Hair shaft. She had to go buy clip in extensions and Is looking at having to cut into a pixie cut from having hair under her collar bone. What is the worst is she struggles with hair growth due to lupus. I feel so bad for her. And the Salon did nothing to help her. They told her they would help her at a different salon and even booked her in but then took back the offer for zero reason. I’ve seen the texts. don’t walk, run away. Fast. You could do a better job yourself. She was left with no other option but to sue.

NEVER GO HERE. WARNING. DONT GO HERE!!!!! The woman ruined my hair and there was zero accountability after. She was marketed as a 20 year experienced colour specialist from Montreal. She over processed my hair the FIRST time she went in….. and there was breakage and it was coming out like cotton candy. Falling apart. Mushy. There was severe bleeding and insisted on going back in and processed again - assuming a 40 developer. After I asked for the next stylist who had to fix it they refused to tell me what formulas they used. They offered to give me 2 free toners and 3 professional treatments at Zazou and then rescinded the offer without explanation. Has this woman even touched a foil? The roots were so hot she clearly used a 20-30 developer in the toner ….. It should be a 5-10 max….. could have done better with less damage with blondisma, a cap and my 16 year old daughter. Her excuse was “I’m new to this line” but how does that explains the bleeding in the foils and clearly not reaching my roots. She ruined my hair. And the toner won’t stay in my hair because of all the damage so now I’m stuck toning my hair every 2 weeks. I’ve priced it out and will cost an additional $2500 for the next year for treatments, at home treatments and bi-weekly toners in addition to what I normally pay. The top of my hair has pieces that broke to 1” long. I’ve lost density. And I already have hair loss due to Lupus and slow hair growth which was communicated in the appointment. NEVER GO HERE. EVER. THE WORST.

Not only is she a great stylist who will get to know your lifestyle and personality and give you a cut to match, but she's easy to talk to and makes you feel really comfortable. I was here yesterday with a groupon for lashes. Ali did a fantastic job and I love the lashes. I left with a nice experience. When I got home, I received an email from the salon that felt like they were accusing me of taking a missing towel. I did not take or steal anything from their salon when I left and I am offended and insulted that they would imply that I've done something wrong. Ali was wonderful in applying the lashes but I would not go back there again.

I booked my first ever appointment at Black 2 Blond and was assigned to Marium, who turned out to be the exact right person for both my hair and the day I was having. After an in-depth consultation, Marium put in highlights and toner, did hair mask, a cut, a blowout and beachy waves. I left with great looking hair and in a great mood - Hairapy extraordinaire! Marium was welcoming, attentive, professional ,and displayed expertise in every technique, from consult and colouring to shampooing and cutting. Even her time management was spot on. I am really happy I didn't check Google reviews before I went to see Marium - I would have missed out on an excellent experience. I support people's right to post negative reviews, but I am confused by the postings of 2 different people sharing "their own" experience, using the same headshots. Those posts are 'supported' by uninvolved people with a one-sided approach, to defame Marium on a friend's behalf. Not appropriate. I recommend Marium as a consummate and skilled professional. The salon itself is clean, airy and has a calm, comfortable atmosphere, as well as hospitable and efficient reception staff.

I went into the salon to get my hair toned by John and he did an amazing job! My hair was looking extremely dull and brassy and even though my hair is extremely difficult to work with and high maintenance, on the first try, John was able to tone my hair to a nicer ashy colour as well as make it look glossy and feel silky! I am extremely impressed and overall, very satisfied!

She's taken me through a variety of styles all of which have been exceptionally well cut and coloured - I'm a mature woman but still get stopped and asked where I get my hair done! Myra keeps on top of her game by attending regular workshops and is always up to date with the latest products and techniques. I trust her completely - she can read a face and lifestyle and implicitly knows what will suit a client best - wholeheartedly recommend! Black 2 Blond is a light, open space - haven't yet tried their beauty services but looks to be great offering.

John has been my stylist for several years now and despite having only recently arrived at Black 2 Blond himself, has made me feel right at home while under his care. The venue itself is brightly lit and open concept yet somehow manages to give an air of coziness and comfortablility. During my appointment, I witnessed the staff put great effort into the sanitization process of their equipment and venue, something that I regard very highly during these troubling times. Overall I think there are very few places that can offer a comparable experience to Black 2 Blond and I definitely look forward to coming back soon.

The haircuts that my daughters received are lovely and the stylists were good but the lack of response that I've gotten from our latest experience has left me disappointed. To grossly upsell a child's haircut is wrong and to not respond to constructive feedback from a client is a reflection of poor customer service. 1st time there the cut was $30 for my 7 year old. A few months later, when clearly booking as a return customer for my 3 year old, the receptionist suggested a certain stylist because he was "good with kids". We booked with that person and received a nice haircut (not including a hair wash) and when it came time to pay, I was told it was $60! I voiced my disappointment and wrote them private feedback but have received no reply. I totally understand that some stylists charge more than others but to recommend one of the most or the most expensive for a 3 year old's haircut and not disclose the price, is deceitful and manipulative. *They have since replied and I appreciate them reaching out.

I'm in love with my hair again! I had an outstanding experience at Black 2 Blond where I follow my stylist of many years, John. Upon entry, the staff were very warm and welcoming, providing adequate sanitization. I went in for a hair treatment and a trim. We discussed how I wanted a low maintenance look that was easy to maintain and style to fit my lifestyle. He was very knowledgeable about the products and did an incredible job reviving my dull, lifeless hair into silky smooth locks with lots of body. John has always surpassed my expectations providing professional cuts that compliment and enhances my features. I left the salon feeling pampered and excited to flaunt my new look. It had been a while since i have been to the salon due to covid.I was very pleased with the level of cleanliness and strict adherence to Covid protocol.On a more personal note i met my new stylist Oana .I am extremely pleased with the results of my highlights and cut .Oana was both personable and professional.

Horrible experience. I went in for a balayage treatment and asked for warm/ caramel colour and I ended up with very ashy blonde/ almost green. I was told that it would become warmer in a week or so after a few washes because the toner would come off. Given that I had payed over $200, I should not have to wait a week to have my desired outcome. I’ve washed it 3 times now and I see no change . It’s still very ashy and green and looks terrible. I went in for a consultation on a redo and they told me my only options were to get low lights or a toner, but that my best bet was to keep washing my hair until it became “warm”. At that point, I decided I would go elsewhere, because I would rather spend more than have my hair ruined worse than it already is. I have never been so unhappy with how my hair looks. On top of that, the woman who did my hair asked me if my mom knew I was getting this done. I’ll be 24 in a few weeks, so it’s been a long time since I’ve asked my mom for permission and money to get my hair done. I know I look a bit young for my age , but that comment was condescending and rude. I’ve been to a few salons in Vancouver and I can honestly say that this is the worst service and treatment I have ever received.

I've been seeing Jody for almost ten years. He is an amazing stylist and colourist. I am always looking to try new things and he works with me to figure out what I can do. I always leave happy. The salon is a great space and very relaxing. I love the welcome tea and set you get when you come in the door. Having spa services while my colour sets is an added bonus. Aurelie is a very positive, friendly stylist who always seems to cut the right layers to frame my face perfectly. She recommended La Biosthetique anti frizz shampoo and conditioner. Wow! My thick older hair has never looked so good. And the smell is amazing. I was very appreciative the steps Black 2Blond took to make me feel safe and welcomed during this difficult time!

First time at Black 2 Blond last week after I followed my stylist Aurelie there and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The salon is bright and modern but felt cozy and intimate. The chair setup is perfect for social distancing and everything felt very clean and safe. Everyone was very welcoming and Aurelie, as she has every time in the last 10 years, gave me a haircut that brings a smile to my face in the morning! She also took care of my brassy ends with a great shampoo that I purchased. One particular point worth mentioning : the chairs where you sit for your shampoo are sooo comfortable you will wish to spend your afternoon in them.....

I had a great experience with John at Black 2 Blond few days ago! My hair was way too overgrown and I wasn't sure what haircut I wanted going in. John and I had a lovely consultation where he asked about my lifestyle and how I normally style my hair to help figure out what would suit me best! I also loved the shampoo part because of the head massage he gives which is supeeerr relaxing! I also got a hair treatment done and after washing my own hair and drying it I can tell that there is less frizz and my hair is so much healthier! The salon is also very clean and they actively sanitize the shampoo stations after each client which is super appreciated :) Everyone was friendly as well, it was a lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend this salon and especially John for haircutting :)

Brandon did a wonderful job with my hair. I wanted a peek-a-boo style with a fun blue colour. He took his time bleaching my hair without any damage. The colour turned out super vibrant and vivid just like how I imagined it. It was such a fun and relaxing experience. Definitely recommend!
