At present the firm gets a score of 4.2 out of 5 and the score has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is positive, and it is founded on a very high number of reviews, so we can say that the valuation is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
Very pleased that covid vaccine information was requested at the front desk and dining area. Well appointed bed rooms that were fresh, attractive and roomy. Comfortable beds! The dining area was spacious with great views of the harbor. The …
It’s the Delta. It’s spacious, clean and modern. It lost a star for its atrocious parking. The parking is 3 apartment blocks away. I would not be happy to have to do that walk in winter or rain!! Also, the ventilation system is quite loud. We’ve had several stays at this hotel at various levels and it’s loud at varying levels but definitely noticeable.
We loved this hotel. It's clean, spacious, and comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and helpful. Every meal we ate there was delicious. We look forward to returning.
Amazing food, atmosphere , service & staff. They made our little guys #1 so special, singing happy birthday, candle in his fruit & a little gift. I pride myself on going above and beyond regarding customer service, thus the "shoutout" to the management & staff (Jose) at the Anchor & Ore ! Bravo! Yvette Pimentel
Love this hotel. Location, staff, rooms, everything is lovely. Highly recommended. Excellent deal on room! New New New, well maintained too, you can tell due to its cleanliness.
The staff are nice and doing a good job but the hotel is NOT a good value. Stayed here a week while working, asked in advanced for a room with a tub (rather than the shower stall), had to wait until the next day for it 'to be ready' in spite of the hotel being virtually empty (basing this on the empty parking lot AND comments made earlier by the friendly staff) Both rooms I stayed (while waiting for the aforementioned room) had a HUGE draft coming in, no temperature control on the fridge that was BARELY cold - didn't feel safe storing dairy, had to wear eye mask to dark out the INCREDIBLY bright flashing light on the smoke detector. No pool, breakfast costs extra, the coffee being sold was over priced and discussing to the point of undrinkable even though advertising "Starbucks". Next time I'm in Thunderbay I'll staying where my money gets me a MUCH more relaxing experience with a good night's rest without this nonsense.... like the Holiday Inn.
New hotel, I'm impressed. Top notch service. I even received a complementary fruit plate delivered to my room for being a high level rewards member. I'll certainly be staying here every time I'm in town
Nice location but be warned about the booking system. I booked a premium room and received a regular room at the premium price.
The hotel is located in a great location on the shore of Lake Superior. There were many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Our room was very nice and the beds were incredibly comfortable.
Did not stay here, but have eaten at the restaurant and had multiple events through the conference centre. The food is deeply disappointing. Underboiling a few potatoes and steaming some broccoli besides a small piece of extremely bland chicken, with a lemon tart with a crust that seems bought from a box does not make a gourmet meal. I have spoken to multiple people with events there and the general consensus is that for the price ($40pp entry) the food is deeply disappointing. You have a beautiful space, you can do better. Even just some salt. Or sauce. Or anything really.
I had a nice view of the harbourfront, the rooms were designed very nicely and maintained well. The restaurant downstairs was beyond my expectations, but if you are a light sleeper or plan to have business meetings, ask to be placed away from any rooms with pets.
I stay here often on business and enjoy every stay. Staff are tremendous all the way through, great location, and excellent food. Highly recommend. Can’t wait for the pantry to re-open :)
I loved the view from my balcony . Room were clean and comfortable .I loved the interior . Every one greeted with smile . It was an awesome romantic evening , sitting on chair and seemed the beautiful sunset. Its a great experience .
Very clean rooms. Excellent location downtown Thunder Bay. Seriously. Clean hotel. Great views. Only drawback is the parking is a hike. But worth it.
Beautiful views on the waterfront. Clean and comfortable rooms. Amazing restaurant food options. Fair pricing looks like they're also taking extra pandemic precautions so that was really nice to see. Only thing I'd rate 1 star was the pillows. They're really mushy - but that's a matter of personal preference so I wont ding them for it! Will stay again if ever in the area.
Went to a wedding held at the Delta. Everything was great, especially the meal. The food was fantastic.
Came to eat at the restaurant. I ended up ordering from the bar menu. I ordered the charcuterie platter. First they did not put the brie on there...added pickled beets that was not on the menu...and also added walnuts...again was not indicated on the menu. The worst was the stale bread....l was unable to chew it...I think the worst part of all of this is they just put what looked to be leftovers on the platter ...not what was printed in the menu. The chef and management should be embarrassed by the amateur way this was served.
Hi, The room and services were excellent. …
Clean and modern rooms but not great considering the price. Beds weren't very comfortable. Service left something to be desired - both at the front desk and the restaurant.
Clean, modern, classy. Covid had obviously affected amenities and levels of service but these guys are doing their best. Clean modern rooms. On-site restaurant is tasty and with a visit.
What a pleasant surprise! Travelling by car from Toronto to Winnipeg. Expected your usual seedy highway motel, and instead, got one of the finest 4 star hotels ever! Great tourist attraction - Kakabeka Falls - more interesting than Niagara, and less commercial! Food at the hotel was excellent - 12 different beers on tap! Staff were super accomodating considering they have only been together for less than a month!
Really nice hotel on the waterfront. Rooms were very nice. Obviously newer and we'll kept. Staff were friendly. Only thing I would say is the parking lot was quite far didn't really make much sense. So I opted to use the valet.
The hotel is new but there are a few things that have to be told. First things the staff was friendly and very helpful. There was only one elevator working and there was a person stuck in it. They were eventually fixed but they are very slow and jerky. You better be healthy and ready for a walk as the parking lot is a city block away from the hotel. The room was ok but it was supposed to be a room overlooking the sleeping giant. You could only see it if you pressed against the windows and looked to your right. Apparently, this is the partial view. I called down and asked for a room in the front. I already upgraded for $39.00 a night for an upper floor. I could get a view for an extra $50.00 a night. So that’s an $80.00 more a night on top of the $160.00 I’m already paying. Just a little steep. The hotel is not worth it. I’ll be going elsewhere next time
Love the hotel, loved the location, and the staff was above and beyond.
It was a great hotel, and the service was exceptional. The room was awesome for 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 pets.
Beautiful spot with access at your doorstep to the waterfront. Great spot for kids. Room has a great tech interface to connect our laptop to the TV. Walking distance to some great food and ice cream. Underground Tesla charging was a big bonus for us.
This hotel was good enough. Very impressive entrance, was not busy when I checked in. The parking was a bit confusing and no parking on the side of the hotel very few selection on parking availability, but parking at the marina parking lot …
Great experience from the moment we arrived. Upgraded to a water view suite which was worth the extra $50 as the view was gorgeous and we were able to watch the sunrise since we were facing South East. …
Attended a Christmas party here, and it was pretty bad. Not everything on the menu made it out, and what did was poor. Caprese salad was tasteless, Pickerel tasted like Lake Trout, Yule Log was just a flat square cake... you get the point. I also wasn't a fan of the Ballroom but thats more of a personal preference though. The rest of the facilities were pretty nice. Staff were not bad, they have some kinks to iron out, but they were trying. I'm sure I'll be back to Anchor and Oar, hopefully its a better experience than the first!
Fabulous place to stay in Thunder Bay! Pet friendly ($35 pet cleaning fee) Underground Parking ($15 self park, totally worth it especially in the winter) They do have off-site parking available as well which I would imagine would be free? Restaurant in the Delta called Anchor & Ore had great food - I ordered the Beet Salad and it was delicious Starbucks in the lobby was a bonus Rooms were large and very clean We were very happy with our stay and will definitely return!
Had some initial issue with calls going to unmonitored voicemail. Got attention via reviews here. Great experience over the phone to get issue resolved ASAP! Looking forward to our stay here!
This hotel is perfect. Amazing comfort in the rooms with the best beds I've ever experienced. Super spacious rooms with accessible showers if desired. Best of all the location is the best out of any other hotel in Thunder Bay. It looks out …
Great location by the Marina and close to restaurants. Would stay again in the future
We slept here for a staycation and we loved it. Neat. It’s unfortunate how covid has affected hotels and similar hospitality businesses but it’s good to see that Marriott is playing it as safe as possible. Everything was clean and we had a beautiful view overlooking the ocean
Great Location Nice clean property with modern spacious rooms
Nice new hotel, the staff were helpful. Free parking and we got upgraded to a executive water facing room with a balcony - beautiful views.
First time I stayed at the location. Check-in was ok. No major issues. Parking is limited during COVID but you can park in the Valet at the back of the hotel. Currently the restaurant is closed but due to open in the next few weeks. Rooms are average. Typical Delta hotels rooms. Downtown area is pretty quiet and not alot of restaurants open currently. Would stay again in the future.
I had a pit stop in TB en route to Winnipeg and we stayed here with 2 kids and our dog. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Beautiful location on the water in a nice new development. Rooms were hit and new. A great set up for everyone!
The staff at this hotel are exceptionally helpful and friendly. I had requested a room with a tub and they made sure I had a room with one, so that was nice. I did expect a little more from this hotel, given its sleek and new design. I had …
This hotel was by far one of our favorite Marriott properties. It was clean, very friendly staff, great location on the marina. We have friends from Thunder Bay and they recommended this hotel to us. We are also Bonvoy reward members so we …
Decent quality rooms right by water but sadly when they say partially lake view hotel and then you show up and get a room with no windows at all apart from half skylight window overlooking the concrete roof. Great staff but overall disappointed with false advertising.
Nice Hotel with a decent price for the quality of the property. I don't think that Valet parking should cost $18 though and the self park was very inconvenient. There is a City lot across from the hotel that we used and luckily we were not …
Perfect location and dinner was fabulous! Lori at the front desk was so sweet and asked Alex the chef about substituting sun dried tomatoes in my husbands pasta. Alex prepared everything perfectly! Alex is a terrific chef and it was such a pleasure to have such a nice meal after a long travel day. The suite was very comfortable with a lovely view and we even got a rainbow across Lake Superior! Very restful stay and we’ll all be back soon! Including our dog Sammy who did a happy dance when he saw we were again in his favorite room with a view he could even enjoy!
Loved our stay here, despite the restaurant being closed due to COVID. Beautiful location on the waterfront in the city. Can’t wait for our next stay!!
Great hotel and the food in the restaurant is also very good.
Best hotel in Thunder Bay. Very clean, tasty food, great service.
We had a wonderful stay! To be honest, our check-in was not as seamless as I have grown accustomed to at a Hotel of this caliber, but I have to commend Nazir at the front desk who went above and beyond to rectify our situation. Despite this very minor hiccup, our overall experience was top notch and we enjoyed our stay immensely. We’ll be back on our next cross Canada adventure!
I recently stayed at the delta Thunder Bay from May 8-9. I went on a four day solo journey from montreal to Saskatchewan and back and the service I received at the delta Thunder Bay was on par and in many ways so much better than the …
Overall it was ok. Grossly overpriced though, and not worth the price but we had no choice as the city was sold out almost everywhere. I wouldn’t choose this place if I had a choice. The shower curtains was from the dollar store and it was gross with black stains on it. Room 406. But the staff was nice and the beds were comfy!
Beautiful new waterfront hotel. The BBQ from the in house restaurant is also top notch
The best Delta experience ever! Top of its class! Clean and luxury mordant design room with a super large washroom, stuffs are professional and wearing mask and face cover, makes me fells safe. Dinning experience was also great, steaks are delicious and the mushroom soup is also premium. Camping to other Delta, this is the best one.
I did not stay but had lunch in the restaurant. Although food was good, found the selection on the menu very small for lunch- only 2 sandwiches ( bison burger and pulled pork sandwich) and when I asked about the daily soup-chowder was ready but not daily soup. Found bill very high for what I had-will not be rushing back until menu is expanded.
When you have to move your pets across the country, the last thing you need to worry about is finding a pet friendly hotel to stay at. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the bay for us to enjoy before a restful sleep and jumping back on the road.
I stayed here after getting surgery and the staff were amazing. Went above and beyond with a smile. Rooms were very clean and beautiful location! Thank you so much for the great staff at the Delta this week!
At first, i was not happy about paying such a large amount for a hotel for a few nights, but then i arrived, and i now see where the moneys worth is, especially in comparison to the other hotels in Thunder Bay. The parking lot is very accessible, right beside the hotel, it also comes with a beautiful view of lake superior, the hotel is very beautiful, modern and clean! Everything seems to be white! They also have pet friendly rooms which was convenient for us (mind you, it is a $75 extra charge per night! which does come off as really insulting to a customer for sure, as if we were dirty people or don’t keep our dog clean or trained properly, but i do see where they might be coming from, for allergy reasons, just seemed a bit of an excessive price, most hotels charge $20-$25 per stay) and walking pathways all along the water front for your pets! I did get a chance to order some room service to, it was sooo good, and fast! :) very impressed!
Seems nice, although I didn’t get a chance to explore further. The views from the dinning room are phenomenal. Appears to be a great venue. Looking forward to visiting again when we have more time
UPDATE: July 31 2019 A few days after my stay i was contacted by Delta over email and we arranged a time when we could discuss over the phone my negative experience. They never made the call. Once again failing in their service. Two weeks later i get a response directly to this google review saying they hope my talk with management resolved all of my concerns. What the hell is going on there that you can know i was supposed to be contacted but not know (or care) whether i was? Downgrading my review to 2 stars since you can't even hold up your end in trying to learn from mistakes. First off, this hotel is in a very good location and is a nice new building. That being said, service was awful. Upon checking in, the front desk guy was unpleasant. We had just traveled a long way and to be welcomed by a very cold and unwelcoming demeanor is not pleasant. He also asked me to stand aside after he had started serving me because another guest he knew came up behind me. I gathered from their interaction that this other guest was wealthy and therefore maybe I was asked to step aside to not ruffle any feathers. I don't know for sure but that is poor customer service regardless. Secondly, our room was not clean. I am not nit-picky at all but there were small blood stains on the sink (very noticeable) and boogers in the bath tub. Pretty gross. That coupled with the room not being stocked with coffee like it was supposed to be makes me give their service a resounding fail. I would not stay here again as it did not live up to a four-star hotel. Our stays in lesser hotel brands which had good service were far more appreciated and favorable.
Decided to break my long drive up and stopped here and it was exactly what I was hoping for...good restaurant, on the water, clean and beautiful room and beautiful view(despite not booking a water view room!) This will be my hotel of choice from now on! Pleasant and friendly staff! Very good value for my dollar!! Thanks for the hospitality!
Treated very poorly over literally nothing. Over priced for what it has to offer honestly. If you dont clean your own room they will charge you $250 extra. 2/10 rating from me
We arrived from out of town and stayed for a night. The staff were ready and willing to help us and were very polite and courteous. The room was spacious and very clean and exceeded our expectations for a hotel room. The food was served …
This hotel location can’t be beat! If you can get upgrade to a room with the view, I would recommend it. It was amazing to watch the moon rising. The rooms were very clean, very comfortable. For context, I am a little fussy about cleanliness and I did not see anything that “bothered” me. It was great. Parking was available underground which was nice but I didn’t love that the garage was operated by a button. Parking did seem limited underground, but I think there were additional spaces outside. I had a few interactions with the staff at reception and coffee bar. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. The restaurant had recently reopened when Ontario entered the next stage of COVID reopening. It was a very good meal, and great service there! I highly recommend it, and we will be returning soon!
Motel was clean great service food was delicious staff was great our room was beside the elevator and never once heard anything best stay.
(-) Staff not very helpful, no service at the coffee shop, parking is far from the entrance if you have a bigger car, could hear the family next door like if they were in our room, no tissue in the room and the food wasn’t not very tasty unfortunately. (+) Large bathroom and large room, could play Netflix easily on the large TV
