(Translated) Totally in love with the spacious Guertin suite that makes the top of this beautiful ancestral home. By putting my feet on it I felt my stress of the city run away to leave room for enchantment. A spacious suite with fully equipped kitchen (with heated floor wow !!), a large living room, a fireplace 3 faces. A large room with Queen bed and a treat ... an over-heated mattress. My family came to visit me and everyone was impressed ... and thanks to the soul of this house of time ... we had good time and good discussions. I highly recommend ... and if you want a place to escape and find yourself ... this is the place. The hosts: Nicole and Jocelyn are welcoming and attentive (Thank you for the chocolate delivered to our door very early in the morning) I will come back as soon as I can because I am captivated by this beautiful discovery.
Clean, bright, lovely. Breakfast is so typical and tasty. Owners are the kindest.
Great place to stay. We stayed 3 nights here and loved it!
On the waterfront in Haileybury, this central location was walking distance from awesome restaurants. The place was clean and welcoming to our big group. Plenty of room to sleep!
Murphy Suite. Great size, great location, great view, great amenities. Totally satisfied!
(Translated) 5-star quality and 5-star service! (Original) qualité 5 étoiles et service 5 étoiles!
I am saddened to have to write this review given the current challenges facing the hospitality industry in light of Covid. However, our customer service experience with Nicole has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. We booked the entire Villa house, all 3 floors for our family reunion of 20, back in July of 2019. Our booking was for August of 2020 and understandably so, was pushed back to 2021. I received an email from Nicole in February of 2021 noting that it was likely that our group of 20 would not be allowed to gather indoors by August of 2021, in light of Covid restrictions. Again, understandable. When given a list of options for our booking, my family ultimately decided to keep our reservation and push it back another year, to 2022. Firstly, the response I received was a cancelation confirmation and a return of my deposit; to which I replied with great confusion and reiterated that we wanted our booking pushed to 2022. Nicole apologized and said she must have gotten her emails mixed up and that it was no problem, she could push the booking to 2022 BUT that unfortunately they had "moved on the third floor of the villa" and maybe we would like to move to the Lumber Baron house (which would have left us at least 2 rooms and 5 beds short, and caused 11 people to squish into the dorm room.) To which I replied asking if it was possible to reschedule the new booking she made for the top floor (the smallest of the 3) to accommodate our group of 20 that had a standing booking for almost 2 years, as the new booking (and subsequent displacement of my group of 20 with a 2 year old reservation) was the result of her mixing up the emails and accidentally canceling our booking. This email was completely ignored. I sent a follow up email days later asking for confirmation that we still had some sort of booking, as I hadn't heard from her in several days. My request was again, completely disregarded and instead, I received a confirmation email that my group of 20 was now moved to the Lumber Baron house. A house that was not on the water like we wanted, and no longer adequately accommodated our group. Fast forward a few days; I asked if I could schedule a phone call with Nicole (to avoid having my concerns ignored again.) During this phone call I voiced the frustration of my family that all of this mix up was the result of Nicole thinking we had cancelled and booking one of the levels of the villa. At this time, Nicole informed me that, in fact, there had not been any mix up, SHE AND HER HUSBAND HAD MOVED INTO THE TOP FLOOR IN SEPTEMBER OF 2020!!!!! Not only were we not contacted to let us know that a full floor of our villa was now completely occupied, but our invoice still reflected all 3 floors. If this "mix up" with the accidental cancelation had never happened, we likely would have showed up to our family reunion in 2022, less a full floor of our reservation, thus, displacing SEVERAL members of our group. The unprofessionalism of the initial mix up, disregard of my emails, and displacement of our group (without consent) was bad. But to have moved into one floor of a Villa that has been booked for 2 years, and not notify the owner of the booking for 7 MONTHS? When I expressed my displeasure with all of this over the phone by simply saying "And no one thought to call us to let us know that we wouldn't have access to a full floor that we accounted for, when it happened in September?" It was met with a very abrupt, and extremely rude, "I'll just cancel your reservation and return your deposit and you can find somewhere else." No apology, no explanation. This is the most unprofessional 'hospitality' I have ever experienced. My family of 20 is extremely displeased and will be advising everyone we know not to give this establishment any business.
I was there for a wedding it's very beautiful
We had the pleasure of staying at the Villa on Lakeshore and we absolutely loved it from its historic charm to it's modern features. Very spacious suite with a wonderful view of Lake Temiskaming right from our bed. They thought about everything, we couldn't have asked for a better stay! Would definitely recommend.
Best hosts we ever had. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. The house is amazing, high quality everywhere, we had plenty of fun here.and will surely come back!
(Translated) Very nice suite, welcoming owner. Plenty of choices for lunch. We will return! (Original) Très belle suite, propriétaire accueillant. Plein de choix pour le déjeuner. Nous y retournerons!

Great get away. The details Nicole and Jocelyn put into our stay is amazing.
Beautiful historical place. Lots of character.
Great historic place, with excellent service.

Fabulous stay! The cottage was the most adorable little house to stay in, and we had everything we needed. Nicole is a fabulous host, both here and at her cafe in town, The Meteor (both of which accommodate dietary restrictions very well). Will definitely stay here again in future.
A Northen Ontario hidden gem!! Farr Island (a part of Les Suites des Presidents) is truly an experience to mark off the family bucket list. Amazing clean well laid out sites and amenities on the island. Glamping at it's best!! Perhaps the true gems are Nicole and Jocelyn your hosts!!!
We have stayed at the President's Suites several time over the past few years. OUr most recent stay was August 12-13. This trip was to bring our granddaughters and friends to explore the Cobalt area and discover their heritage! Nicole and Jocelyn, the most friendly hosts ever, helped make this a most exciting trip for them by taking us to Farr Island and arranging a pirate scavenger hunt for the girls! THe girls also were excited to stay in a "Mansion". Five Star all the way: well appointed suites; great amenities; clean and welcoming atmosphere; home baking…… Can't wait to see you in November!
The house was amazing. Everything was incredibly roomie and beautifully decorated. In terms of accommodations we stayed for the weekend at the lumber Barons house. They provided us with everything that we needed including a industrial dishwasher, kitchen with all the utensils and kitchen tools that we needed, a large living room with a small Library and board games, a hot tub, breakfast items, ect. They even provided some appliances that we didn't need such as large pots and dishware for entertaining large parties. One thing that I was particularly impressed with was how many little things they had done to make our stay more comfortable. For example there are stickers and labels on almost every drawer and instructions for all of the appliances so that you never have to go looking in drawers to find something. The location was within walking distance from several great restaurants and stores. And everyone that we met was incredibly welcoming and often offered us advice about where to find things. I also strongly recommend going on the tours of the area. Nicole was able to show us some great restaurants, views, interesting spots and history in the area that we would have never been able to find ourselves. Nicole even helped us find a account that my great-uncle had written about their families experience during the fire in Haileybury! This vacation was an amazing way to spend time with family and learn more about a large piece of Canadian and Ontario history.
Excellent place to stay, personal touches and wonderful hosts! All you would need for a getaway overlooking the lake.
The service is amazing. Beautiful place.
Went here with my extended family as a sort of family reunion and we all couldn't stop raving about it. We had one whole house to ourselves which was three different levels and suites. It was more than enough room for us all and felt like one big house party where everyone was together but separate. Some people in the hot tub outside, some by the bonfire out front, or on the front porch... Multiple kitchen parties, living room card games etc. It was so wonderful. Would love to come again!
Very good !
we stayed in the Lumber Baron House with all our family we were 5 adults 1 teenager and 1 toddler . It was just great the house is big & beautiful but also very comfortable for everyone very impressed that there was a bathroom for every bedroom on the main floor , the kitchen is big and can sit many people there even was a vintage wooden highchair for our baby girl ! The dining room is spectacular such a great house for any group gathering. Definitely want to go back ! Un gros merci Nicole et Jocelyn pour un très beau séjour définitivement a refaire .
This house and our hosts are certainly five star. My son and his new bride were married at the Haileybury Golf Club on Sat. Oct. 19/13 My daughter booked the entire house for this past weekend for all the out of town family as well as the rehearsal party and Sun. brunch so we could all be together. We being the eldest shared the third floor and the little ones (2 & 3) were on the first floor. With the doors at the bottom of the stairs closed, the third floor was virtually sound proof. We all prepared our own breakfast in the individual suites thanks to the wonderfully stocked fridges and delicious muffins left each morning. My husband absolutely loved the original art work and we both loved the architecture and history of the house not to mention the spectacular view of the lake.
The owners are first class, they really care about their customers experience.
(Translated) Very clean place, well equipped. The owners are very courteous and kind. I will go back there! (Original) Endroit très propre, bien équipé. Les propriétaires sont très courtois et gentils. J'y retournerai!
Nicole and Jocelyn run amazing spaces. Love the authentic historic homes, the information shared about the area and the home baked treats (gluten free even!) Rent from them for any getaway! You won't regret it!!
We stayed in the Lumber Baron's House on the lower floor. It is a classic old home built in 1907 with lots of character. The house is extremely clean, very well equipped and very comfortable. Great hosts! Dave and Dianne
Yet another amazing experience with Presidents' Suites! We gathered in the Prospectors House to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. We all had our own rooms, bathrooms, plenty of common space, and always a place to get away and take a break. This house is beautifully decorated, very clean and includes everything you need for a weekend celebration. Reasonably priced with several amenities included. It was truly a home away from home, and having us all under one roof was the best gift we could give our mom - she loved it! A big thank you to Nicole and Jocelyn!
First rate in every respect. My family of eight adults stayed at Prospectors' house and it was as good as home!
Incredible views and even better host. Couldn’t imagine a more peaceful and nature filled stay
This is our second stay with president's suites and what a wonderful experience . The most comfortable stay with everything to make our stay comfortable. The added touches. Warm treats for breakfast and the stocked basics in the fridge make such a difference. Most highly reccommend!
This was my second visit to President’s Suites in Haileybury and once again, it was wonderful! We stayed in the main villa in a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment with a stunning view over Lake Temiskaming. Two balconies, one overlooking the lake and a larger one with a propane BBQ and large table and chairs. The kitchen was fully equipped and the fridge and pantry filled with anything one could want for breakfast, including eggs, bagels, pancake mix and maple syrup, fruit, various jams, fabulous coffee supplied by a local roaster and a variety of specialty teas. Nicole and Jocelyn are wonderful hosts – nothing is too much trouble and they are easily contacted. The area is chock-full of interesting things to do – I always enjoy visiting the Cobalt mining museum – and Quebec is a short drive away. President’s Suites provides a very comfortable alternative to a simple hotel room at a very reasonable cost. I will be back!
Stayed here a number of times and have used all 3 suites. Each one is unique with its own charm. Nicole is a great host!
Beautiful people...highly recommended for a vacation or a weekend in any season. Treat you like family!
We had an amazing week-long stay at the Lumber Baron'a House this past week. The place was clean, well stocked, unique and comfortable. I worked from the house all week and had no issues with internet or any other amenities. It was a 100 year old home away from home. The fireplace was amazing as well and made for great company.
Beautiful accommodations filled with thoughtful details.
(Translated) This cottage is an old house with a lot of historic character typical of a forest baron from over a century ago. The entire interior is made of wood and gives the impression of going back in time. Located on a hill facing Lake Témiscamingue with Quebec on the other side, the view is breathtaking. You want to hang out and relax, here's where to do it.
