I went in for an oxygen facial advertised at a special rate. I looked forward to the experience having had many facials done in past by private estetichian I have used for several years, although she never did an oxygen facial on me. The Gentle Touch estetichian said my skin would feel plumper. Indeed, it did as that night I felt itchy and the next day my face was swollen and my husband said I looked like I was in a boxing match. I've been home for 3 days, missed work and my face feels rough and still burning. I called Gentle Touch to tell them what happened. They said to take Benedryl which I did and didn't really make much difference. They offered nothing else. I asked if anyone else had this problem and they said no. I hope there isn't permanent damage. I went in feeling pretty good and came out feeling and looking worse than I ever have with regards to any other experience at a spa. Never darkening their doorway again and would advise anyone thinking of getting an oxygen facial to think twice.

Had an amazing first facial experience at the Halifax, Gentle Touch location recently. I tried their Microdermabrasion facial and it left my skin feeling amazing and my esthetician was very good at explaining each step along the way all though my treatment. I LOVE this place. It came highly recommended to me so I tried out the Park Lane Mall location in 2016. I have always been treated with complete professionalism and warmth. When I moved to Canada, I hesitated to find a place for intimate waxes because I'm very shy, plus sized and had been treated rudely by another business on Spring Garden. In steps Holly and all worries instantly disappear. She is super friendly, very sweet and down to earth. Always goes above and beyond to make me comfortable and does amazing work. Now, I go there for all of my spa needs and the whole team is wonderful. Raegan is usually at the desk when I walk in. She is so warm, inviting and has a great sense of humor. Honestly, everyone is so great. I take advantage of the great sales they have and monthly features. Usually stock up on services when I can and that keeps the cost down but for the service and the extra attention they give you to go that extra mile, its always a bargain for me. I highly recommend the Farmhouse Fresh facial - such a decadent treat and smells incredible!

Tried Gentle Touch for the first time yesterday and I was highly impressed all round! I went in for a Brazillian wax and I loved that the tech, Rachelle, gave me some time alone in the room to undress and get ready for her (this doesn't happen everywhere). There were also wipes available which is a plus. I was SUPER impressed by how quick and smooth the wax was - I barely noticed the time going by. I was done in 20 minutes max, and not a single hair was missed. They were also really professional at the front desk and the spa is very clean and classy. Wednesdays are half price wax which is a plus. Best wax experience I've ever had! Update: I had another wax appointment, this time with Marcy. She is also just as quick, friendly, and professional as my first wax at the spa. I will definitely keep going here for my waxes.

I went to Gentle Touch Halifax for a lash lift and tint. I have stubborn eyelashes that never curl up even with previous lash lifts in the past. I advised Marcy of this. My lashes turned out AMAZING. It's been 10 days since I got my lash lift and they still look the same as they did when I had them done. My own lashes look fake and I will be going back every couple months for sure. Highly recommend!!!

**UPDATE** Yesterday was my last time I am going to this place. I know the service is discounted but my "esthetician" was 30 mins late. The treatment was *super* rushed. She seemed to try to make up for the wait and the rushed micro treatment with the most injurious extractions I have ever had. I do no have any active acne, however she saw fit to take a needle to what are simply just large pores (I know this, other esthetician there have known that's what they are) and created painful, red holes in my face. Not what I paid $70+ dollars for. I asked her for cleanser recommendations and her replies were dismissive. She simply was not present and did not care. I understand that her previous client was late, then I learned it was her last day working there as she was moving away. That explains much. In summation, this was the worst experience I have ever had. I will never go back. I've gone for $30 microdermabrasion and I had much better results. ***PREVIOUS REVIEW*** I have gone here for the discounted microdermabrasion with pleasing results. However, there's really not much more to expect then microdermabrasion. There is a cleanse, extractions and a soothing gel mask after the treatment, but that's fine with me. I do appreciate the sunscreen or mineral makeup after. My esthetician was super chatty and friendly. I didn't get skin irritation that lasted days and days and the results were excellent. The only other thing that bothers me is having to wait up to 15 mins for something I have booked. I am paying for it, can we have some punctuality please? Other than that, I have no complaints.

Their Laser hair removal treatment doesn't work at ALL. It is a huge lie. I had few extra hair on my face and now I ended up with more hair showing up, actually, I think that they are doing a hair growing treatment of a hair removal on. Terrible terrible, I lost money and ended up with more hair. I called them for a refund before finishing my treatment, she said no (lindsey).......they suck.

I opted to get my first lash lift and tint here. The service was perfectly fine - the woman was friendly and chatty. During the procedure, it felt like whatever she was putting on my eyelashes was seeping into my eyes - I was terrified I was going to go blind - not sure if this is normal, my eyes burned. I was anxious the whole time because I didn't know what was going on - it would have been better if she talked me through what she was doing and what I should be feeling. On top of it, the lash lift didn't really work - I even avoided water for 48 hours instead of the recommended 24 hours. I can't see any difference. My sister, with similar lashes to me, had them done, and there was a noticeable difference on her. So, I spent a $100 for nothing really.

When I first tried Gentle Touch Spa and Laser in Park Lane, my complexion was rough and dull after a long cold winter. Lyndsey suggested the Hydrafacial. This was the first time that I had tried a ‘treatment facial’ and I was delighted with the results-so much so that I have been a regular client since then. Even though I am in my 60s, I still receive compliments regularly on how smooth, even and glowing my skin remains. This is certainly helped in large part by my regular facials. The salon is spotless and they followed social distancing and mask wearing , while allowing extra time or service so the tan could dry fully before mask was placed back on. Terrible customer service, had a pixel treatment done here and had concerns after the procedure. My consultation was great they really know how to sell things. When I called after the procedure with questions and concerns I was spoken to so disrespectfully by the laser technician, and she got so defensive. Bottom line had burn patches on my face that were not "typical" and now I'm being told "well you signed a consent form". Anyway now trying to get proof of their laser certification and a copy of my consent form is a struggle and they're Ignoring me.

Just finished my second hydra facial treatment, for me, there are visible changes after every single treatment, it deserves its price. (The pic was taken when I just finished the treatment,it looks messy cause it need several days to rebuild the surface. Then you can see the changes) BTW,I did all things that the doc told me to do, such as no makeup,no sugar or dairy diet. They are really helpful for the acnes from inside out. The doc here is really patient and kind, everyone is just really nice . They usually busy at evening (17:00-20:00) I think, so morning is a good time for your appointment (just personal advice). With the esthetician’s and staffs direction for treatments and products my skin looks and feels great. I use the treatments for rosacea, seasonal sun damage and healthy skin maintenance. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The decor is lovely, relaxing and very comfortable. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and very friendly and helpful.
