Carolyn Schwab: Hello Danielle due to your post on Facebook , we have lost a young talented stylist . we have tried to help you out here we did honour our guarantee and own up as you say and now even a second time ,you were dissatisfied and still,we have offered you to redo the service Danielle: I don't see this response directed towards my mother. The one who had her hair ruined but doesn't quite understand Facebook. Perhaps you should contact her. (insert name link) I also disagree with blaming the loss of an inept stylist on someone who could be a customer. You're the business here, act like a business, not an individual.

Went here twice with 2 different Groupons and I didn't have a good experience. The hairdressers were supposed to give me blonder hair - the first time I had barely noticeable highlights and the second time my hair was pure yellow. I went to Sally Beauty Supply after and did it myself - I don't know why it's that hard. Bad experience here unfortunately.

Extremely poor quality of work and service. If I could rate it a negative value, I would. I had a Groupon for a hair colouring, cut and style for about $60. The stylist did most of my roots but said that I would have to pay her another $60 to do all of my hair. She says the Groupon gives you only 2 ounces of products which would be sufficient only if I had a brush cut. I found this to be very deceptive. She did a poor job...didn't use heat etc. and the colour didn't hold. She also have me a crooked haircut...longer on one side than the other...totalling 2 minutes of work and 1 tablespoon of cut hair. Because the hair colouring didn't work, she said to go back in two weeks or so and it'll be redone for free. I made the appointment but postponed it because I was sick. Then she was unavailable. So I went I about 5 weeks after my first appointment..and they told me that I would have to pay the full price to fix the problem they had created. They said that they allow a maximum of one week to fix problems. I had never been advised of this at any point in time. They were belligerent and aggressive and had a 'customer is always wrong' attitude. Very unprofessional!

I always have a good time at changes I have been going there for over 20 years they accept people who they are very professional. Tracey looks after my waxing and Mashid looks after everything else. I would definitely 150% recommend them they treat you like family and friends.

Just tried booking a couples spa package. Called in because the package I was looking for wasn't on the online booking and when I asked the receptionist what couples spa packages they offered was told in a snobby attitude that I could just go online and see. I told her what package I would like and was then put on hold for 15 minutes, ended up hanging up. That kind of attitude is not very good when towards new clientele. This is frustrating as my fiance' was really hoping for a couples massage that included a hydro therapy tub. Will definitely be reconsidering this establishment in the future. If I could rate it lower then 1 star I would.

I go there to get my nails done by Tiffany. I love her and she is soo good at paying attention to detail. She never gets angry and she's even more picky than me on the shape of the nail and how it looks which is refreshing. I will forever go there to get my nails done as long as she will have me lol

I am so disappointed. I booked a spa manicure through groupon and being that I’ve been to Changes for other services, I was excited to go. I got there about 5 mins early and the receptionist had no professionalism or customer service skills it seemed. She barely acknowledged me and wasn’t interested in providing any help. Luckily, the girl that was doing my manicure popped around the corner and happily led me to the nail desk. She seemed unsure of exactly what she was supposed to be doing, but I thought she might be new so no worries. To keep things short, not only did she not know what she was doing, it turns out she was actually a massage therapist and did not do manicures or pedicures on a regular basis at all! The whole process was extremely awkward, especially when I had to stand at what appeared to be a bird bath (?) and do the hand scrub MYSELF! To make things more awkward, she had a garden spray bottle that’s from the dollar store (I’ve literally bought the exact same thing) that she sprayed onto my hands as I tried to remove the sticky crystals, unbelievable. At the end, the nail polish was so old it wouldn’t dry, and the top coat was so old that she used ended up switching to a nail setting spray which proceeded to get all over my right hand, which was also not wiped off after. By the time I’d made it to the door, the polish was scratched in multiple places. To add insult to injury, my appointment was at 6pm and I noticed there were a few other nail technicians working as well doing gels etc. One of the employees finished up her appointment at about 6:15-6:20 and then started sweeping and cleaning. I didn’t finish until about 7:00 and once I realized the girl helping me wasn’t a nail technician I just thought, why isn’t the ACTUAL nail technician doing the manicure??? It was an absolute mess. I will never go to this salon again and would strongly advise against it.

So since I was stuck with a gift card from Changes after they refused to give me my money back... I decided I would use the gift card and get a lash lift. I have gotten it done a few times now at Evoke Esthetics and at Body Sense (both great places! Affordable and they do a great job every time!). I find the lash lift and tint is a great affordable option if you are unable to get lash extensions. I had a lift and tint booked at first but I switched it to just a lift after I found out that it was $85.. i think that’s a little steep for a lift and tint. I booked the appointment online and the price wasn’t listed but I went ahead as I assumed it would be similar to the other places I have been to. Anyway, I don’t recommend getting a lash lift here either. They are suppose to last 4-6weeks and my lashes did not hold curl for a week! Two bad experiences... and I don’t have any more unwanted gift cards anymore so I have no reason to ever go back again.

I've been here twice to get my nails done and both times, they chipped and peeled within 3 days. The first time they fixed without incident and the manager did a good job, they held up well. The second time the receptionist was so rude and I had to ask for the manager to give me a call back. They booked me in to have my nails touched up. After the touch up, my nails all peeled and chipped way worse. I called to have my nails fixed... again, and the receptionist was rude... again. I was put on hold for 9 minutes. They weren't going to fix my nails had to talk to the manager... again. I finally got booked in but then had something else come up and called to cancel. Got put on hold for another 6 minutes. Hung up and won't be back. Poor quality, poor service.

Went to Carolyn a few years back for micro blading/eyebrow tattoo. Thought it was micro blading but fairly sure she used a tattoo gun?they faded blue. They were awful. I remember leaving nearly in tears. I came in with my eyebrows drawn on how I wanted them, (side note- she never removed my makeup or outlined my eyebrows but instead just tattood over top of the makeup I came in with?) Added ink in the inner corners where I told her I didn’t want it. Messaged her after the fact and a refund wasn’t an option. She asked I come back so she could fix them. Difficult to fix a tattoo when ink is somewhere it wasn’t wanted or intended. Anyways, still bothers me. Haven’t stepped foot in there since. Found a lady who has gradually fixed my eyebrows since and actually knows what she’s doing.

Had a great massage today! My RMT was more than happy to answer questions throughout the appointment as I was new to cupping. During her aftercare instructions, she provided a bottle of water & mentioned that I might recover slower due to health issues I'd noted earlier. A few suggestions I'd make would be: have the RMT to introduce themselves right away (without being prompted), have heated blankets or a heating pad and a place in the room to hang your clothes/jackets. Thanks again ladies!

They made an appointment for me and then quickly called me back and cancelled, without any explanation other then they said they don’t think that this is the service salon for me. I previously left a review stating that Amanda, her sister (who tattooed my eyebrows), and the nail artist who did my first set of gel nails were all positive people who were professional . The truth is each one of them has told me all about their personal lives in depth. None of the talks were positive. There was unrest among the family.Eleven staff members walked out on the owner as the managers were incredibly hard on each of them with little patience. I was told that the salon mixes half of their hair dye with water so the customers have to come back more often. I have personally seen the way the management disrespects the staff. Amanda inferred that she said one of her stylists was mentally challenged. This disreputable salon should either pick up it's morals or pack up and close down.

If only you knew of the verbal and emotional abuse the staff goes through in that place. This review is against how the place itself is ran. The workers are amazing but the owner and management is abusive. The workers are put through hell, treated and spoken to like they have no worth. Actually have even been told they are all replaceable. They also get barely paid for the amazing and hard work they put into their clients lives. The owner haa been caught numerous times watering down product used on clients as well as using Dollarama and Walmart brand product on clients. Also she has tried to push the women that perform massage to do "happy endings" because there was good money to be made. When women refused to be treated by male clients that way she would yell at the workers for sending away who would be a paying client.

#rude #shamefull #embarressing Today i called about some questions i had about your eyelash extenstions. The manager today on (May 29 @ 3:00pm) was handed the phone after a worker at the desk didn't know the answer to my question. My first question was how much are your classic lashes? And her response was if i was a eyelash tech or a customer. I said i was both and she said, okay so your a tech. I said okay and asked some more questions about prices, why theyre so high, etc. She then said go to the website. When i asked her why she couldnt answer my questions she said " are you trying to piss me off?" I said no and asked for her name because she had been giving me attitude the entire conversation for no reason at all but instead she hung up on me. I phoned back and i was left on hold for 5 minutes. Second time i got my eyelash tech teacher to phone and try and figure this out. The phone was answered immediately but she eventually got hung up on! I want to add that im a new eyelash tech and was really looking forward to getting my lashes done, since i booked the apt online. Im frustrated that a couple simple questions got sour responses and i got hung up on not once, but twice. I have never had a "manager" been so rude to me in my entire life. ive got my eyebrows and hair done there and really liked it! But I will never come back because of how i was treated today, and neither will my family and friends. Completely unacceptable.

I have been having massages at Changes for the last couple years with my old RMT and everything was great. This place has gone down hill considerably the last couple years as they no longer have an RMT, or else they work once week. I waited an entire week for my appt and I took the afternoon off work, when I got there the doors were locked. I looked at my phone and had a voicemail from 30 minutes before my appt telling me they need to reschedule with no reason or anything, which I didnt even see until I was at the location. Terrible customer service, will not be back.

I had my brows tattooed at this salon in 2014 and then again in 2017 (twice) as they had faded out to purple. The procedure done in 2017 has again faded out to purple. Consulting with another tattoo specialist , the dye used was poor quality and had been tattooed to deep.

I called and specifically asked if they had non-gun piercing for my daughter's ears. They responded they could do it without a gun and when I got there, I discovered it was simply a disposable gun! My daughter was already scared enough so I didn't say anything, but then they gave her the wrong earrings from what she chose, and brushed off my statement that the dots they set were not symmetrical. The price was also $15 more than advertised on their website. I will never be back. I made the mistake of thinking I had gone to a professional place and this was far from it.

I went to Changes Salon and Spa to get my hair from dark brown to blonde. Katelyn did an amazing job of getting me there in safely and successfully! It took a few appointments (as it should) and she was very accommodating about it! Katelyn was super nice, great to talk to, and she really listens to what you want. She is very careful and makes sure that what she is doing won’t cause more damage. She cares about her clients and is not satisfied until her client is more than satisfied! I would definitely recommend Katelyn whether you just want a haircut or drastically change your hair. You can tell she really loves what she does. Katelyn is the first person who has successfully gotten my hair to the colour I want it without damaging it. I was very impressed and will be going back to see her! It's unfortunate that there isn't a rating less than one star. Beyond disappointed in services rendered. They overcharged hundreds when all was said and done. They also tried to charge for future upkeep? They couldn't even do it right the first time and they want to charge for future appointments? No thank you. This is my go to place for a great massage. Kirsten is wonderful! She is friendly and very knowledgeable and able to get the knots and tight spots worked out. I always leave feeling significantly better then when I arrived. I love starting off my time in the hydro tub as well. Highly recommend her if you want a great RMT.

I came in for my third lash appointment today and left in tears. My lash artist today went by Caroline and she did just a horrid job. I had large globs of glue all along my lashes and they were going in every which direction. I could feel my eyes sticking together with every blink. She poked me numerous times with her tweezers throughout the visit. Two of the times hurt so much I flinched back. After paying, I spoke to a different staff member to let her know my concerns and my artist did attempt to address them. However, I can now see a small bald area on my right eye lid, there's still glue in my lashes, and my left eyelid is a little swollen. I just pulled one of my own lashes off as she had glued the fake one incorrectly and it was pointing inward irritating my eye. The only reason I'm still giving this salon 3 stars is because my first two lash appointments were with a most wonderful lady by the name of Ramanjeet. She did exceptional, painless work and I absolutely loved my lashes. I was informed she was sick today and now wish I had just waited for her return. I'd definitely recommend you ask your artist regarding their experience and portfolio. Although I'll continue going to this spa, I know who not to go to now.

The most painful, long, and expensive wax of my life. I repeatedly told the esthetician that the wax was too hot, and she assured me it was on medium-low. I ended up with burns from the wax, just as I had suspected. Would not recommend, and will not ever return here for any service.

Clean, fast, and friendly service. The perfect trio! And they take the time to know their clients. Hadn't been in for a year, walked in and was greeted by name - certainly makes one feel special. It may just be my bad luck, but whenever I pop in just for tanning I almost always do so when there is someone new behind the desk. Makes me wonder why there is routinely new staff? But even though I have to wait a few minutes for the new person to figure it out (hey, everyone has to start somewhere), they are always sweet about it.

Carolyn Schwab, owner of Changes Salon and Spa is personable and professional. I do not like sitting in salons normally but Carolyn made me feel comfortable and relaxed. : All of the reviews from staff are 100% true. Owner Carolyn Schwab is constantly watering down products, buying dollar store items and marking it up excessively- would mark dollar store items up to 100$ This is a family run business- a mother and her two daughters as managers. I personally was bullied and verbally abused by all three of them. I have heard Carolyn tell another staff member that she was “trailer trash”. If you look into the salons reviews, most of them are from the salon account, or the owners account or owners family accounts. She reviews the salon as if she was a client. If you have been in the salon more than once there is a good chance you would have heard the owner and managers scream fighting while you were having a service done. You’ve also probably seen management walking around the salon or standing at the front desk fighting and/or crying hysterically over a fight. 90% of her experienced long term staff have left because of management. I have yet to know a previous staff member that has a good thing to say about Changes. If you as client complain, she will send you the exact same long/phoney message she sends every client that complains. About the guarantee. Changes salon uses a gel brand that was created by the owner. Which is the worst brand ever created. It is as cheap as possible. The staff have requested to change it many times but she refuses to spend money for quality products. There is a ton of complaints about hair colour not going well. That is because the owner takes the developer bottles and tops them up with water, diluting them so she doesn’t have to spend the money to buy more yet. When you get a “free service” - that means the employee literally doesn’t get paid for doing your service. The salon doesn’t absorb the cost, the employee does. Another thing she loves to do is put out Groupons and force her staff to perform services for a lower price. She also buys cheaper products to use for groupons. I have never met such an unprofessional business manager. In the past year she has been through so many receptionists it’s hard to count. I feel so bad for all of the wonderful girls who feel stuck here (Carolyn LOVES to tell girls who are thinking of leaving that they “are going to fail and will never succeed and are stupid for thinking they will). If you want a good salon/spa- avoid this one. If you’re a current client, and your esthitician or stylist leaves the salon, follow them!

Purchased the skin tightening treatments (ELOS plus laser) and was very disappointed. After 6 treatments there are zero results. Don't waste you money on this service. Additionally, I warn against purchasing their Groupon for skin tightening as you get a lesser treatment than if you purchased at full price, as was told by the technician.

Ridiculous incompetent Business. I had Bought a Groupon for a service on June 22, 2019 and booked the Appointment for July 11th. The groupon Cleary States that it expires in Nov of 2019. I Arrived to my appionment and upon my arrival I was told that they no longer offer that service. So here is how it gets worse, they told me that they havent offered that service for 2years. Sorry? What did you just say you havent offered this service for 2years!. OK SO WHY DID I BUY THIS GROUPON THIS YEAR AND IT IS VALID TILL NOV 2109. I was gifted a gift card to this place from work for my maternity gift. I attended changes on Thursday for a hair cut. I was happy with it and decided to book a colour worse decision I have made. I haven’t had my hair done in years and wanted to try ombré I showed the lady pictures of what I wanted and I have dark hair so she said it won’t be that blonde but it’ll be close and even at the start I asked her what the outcome might be, I ended up with gold and I was very set and she didn’t seem to understand why she felt she did a great job, her co worker ended up stepping in to try to help her with trying to get the gold to be less gold. No colour was added it was just a horrible bleach job and it’s patchy and not even and the worst ombré I have ever seen. I cried and showed my hair dressing friends what happened their all modify that I had to pay and nicely pointed out all the errors. So I ruined my nice hair wasted my gift card and now have to pay again for someone to fix this. I can’t believe they allowed me to leave like this and still made me pay even after I explained how unhappy I am. The picture of my hair gold and how the one lady was going to let me leave. The other co worker told me to wait 24 hours to adjust. No one seems to understand it’s not ombré it’s just a horrible bleach job and it’s very patchy and no brown undertones or anything was added. It looks like I did my hair myself with a box from the drug store. I’m rebooked for Monday and I’m so upset I don’t know if I want to let them try to fix it or ask for my money back and get someone who can actually fix this do it. I wish I could give zero stars. My Husband said I shouldn’t have went and it’s no wonder your allowed to use a Wayspa gift card there. (It was here or another place should have went to the other place) hopefully Carolyn the CEO steps in and can suggest what to do or nicely give me my money back so I can pay someone else. One very unhappy customer, first time I did something with my hair in 6 years and probably the last they ruined the experience for me and the excitement.

Polite and respectful service. Two of us went for gel nails with a Groupon. One of us got friendly service, but both got good service. When I needed a fix, they were quick and polite and the person who worked on me was efficient and knowledgeable. Would recommend.

The in store experience was fine. Customer service was alright and the store was decently clean. I got a full set of gel nails put on. My first nail cracked 5 days after getting them put on, so I went back and got it replaced the following day. Then my next nail popped off 6 days after getting them put on originally. I am very disappointed in the quality of the nails and will not be going back in the future.

We went to the Changes Salon & Spa for a microdermabration facial. My esthestician was Snehal , a lovely, knowledgeable, and professional lady, who gave a great facial. The reception staff were extremely courteous, helpful (taking my coat, offering beverages, complimentary spa sandals, etc) and I used the pre-appointment time to browse in their shopping area that is full of all sorts of great items. I loved the experience The skin care she used on me they also sold. I found the products to be: almost perfume free, I bought this cream because my under eye zone was dehydrated, dull and with lines. A few days after I began to use, this zone looked fresh and revitalized. Honestly I recommend it, its quality is worthy of the price I liked the effect of the facial because the products were so good ! With the products, I give 5 stars.

Absolutely in LOVE with Amanda at Changes Salon and Spa! Been going to her for close to a decade now. I've had waxing, sugar waxing, pedicures (annual date with my Mumma), facials, lazer hair removal, had my hair cut / styled for a wedding and even use their tanning beds! This place literally has it all - book for a manicure, pedicure or gel nails, get piercings or even have a nice relaxing massage! Never have I been disappointed with the service Amanda has to offer! Highly recommended Changes, as this girl has changed my life!

I followed a stylist to Changes but 6 weeks later she was gone. So I made an appointment with someone else but when I arrived for it, the girl seemed unsure and asked me to come back next day to get a stylist. I came back and got an excellent cut. I booked her 6 weeks later but when I arrived, I was again asked to come back later as the girl I booked with was out for a month. I gave up and booked elsewhere. I received a phone call after booking elsewhere apologizing and explaining that , at least this last experience, was basically a glitch in informing all staff of the stylist not working there now. I was offered a price reduction in future service. I appreciate this effort to remedy the situation and would give Changes another chance.

They declined to give us service of hair style - very simple one just straightening because we got late. I agree we got late but last time I had their service for hair updo appointment and waited for 45min for no reasons explained.

I bought a Groupon to get my nails done for my wedding on a Thursday and the wedding was Saturday. Exactly 1 week later (Thursday) 1 nail half broke off. I am quite disappointed as I was on my honeymoon and my nail looked awful. Would not recommend this place if nails break off after 1 week. Even though it was a Groupon, the quality of service should not decrease.

Worst experience ever. My hair color is a disaster. In what world is dark red with mousy highlights light brown with blond highlights? I spoke to several hairstylists after this happened and they were very clear that I was overcharged (220$!) and that the hairstylist did not know what she was doing. This hair color will take months to get rid of and my hair is like straw!!!!

I have been getting gel nails by the cutest nail tech at Changes for the past 8 months (I almost don't want to say who, and keep her as my secret weapon LOL). Mahshid is wonderful at nails, I can honestly say she amazes me more with every set she does for me :) She has grown to know my colour preferences and style tastes, so when I arrive for my appointment Mahshid already has a few suggestions on ideas ready for me. I generally cannot wait to get inside the building on appointment day to see what creative designs she has come up with for the next set. Mahshid and I have some of the best talks and discussions while she does my nails, sometimes I truly think our visits could be the highlight of my appointments :) She is growing her skill base to include piercing and permanent makeup, and I am excited to book in for these services with her in the future. The facitily is always clean, bright and welcoming, and staff is always ready and willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have. The pricing is competitive, and reasonable too. If you are looking for a qualified nail tech call and book in with Mahshid, and for all other salon services Changes has you covered. I cannot recommend Changes Salon & Spa highly enough!!!!!

I tried “The Grande Lash enhancing serum” Did not work for me ???? The cashier clearly told me when I purchased it, your lucky if product doesn’t work it’s a money back guarantee! ALSO a SIGN that clearly states “MONEY BACK GAURANTEED” right where the product is!!!! I was unstastisfied with the product as it did not work for me. So I went back to get my money back This morning The cashier was unaware of this “MONEY BACK GAURANTEE” she did advise her Manager about me wanting my money back. She said “THEY SAID THEY DONT DO MONEY BACK MONEY BACK GAURANTEE” So I asked that I speak with the manager, who was too busy to talk to me. Cashier said that they can only give me a gift card for future services at Changes Salon and Spa. And only the company Grande Lash only gives MONEY BACK so I have to contact them. So I stepped out and gave the company a call Guess what They told me that Changes Salon and Spa HAVE to hounor the “MONEY BACK GUARANTEE” So I went back into the Salon and let cashier hear from company Grande Lash, that Salon HAS to hounor this if product doesn’t work!!!! And the sign right by product also clearly states this!! Cashier went back and talked to the manager once again, which I never did see her and told her about me on the phone WITH the COMPANY and that they HAVE TO HOUNOR THE MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! Cashier said that ok we will give you a refund of $75.00 which they DO NOT DO ANY CASH BACK EVER only gift cards for services at Changes!! What a hassle they didn’t want to give me back my money they were only going to give me a gift card for Changes Remember if this product doesn’t work call the company because it’s a 90 day Money back guarantee!!! From Changes they have to give you, your money back! When Changes purchases a product from Grande Lash it’s policy that they agree to the money back guarantee, if customer is not satisfied!! What a hassle I WONT BE GETTING ANY SERVICES FROM HERE EVER AGAIN!!!!

Nightmare experience! Went in for skin tightening and got a viral infection. Had to go to hospital. Eye was almost closed shut. I asked for a refund from Caroline. She asked me to send her my $150 in prescription receipts and that she would reimburse me. Which I did. She lied to me and did not reimburse me for my suffering. Very unprofessional. She kept calling me by another name 4 times! And showed up 45 minutes late for one of our appointments! I would never recommend her to anybody!

Went in for a "trim". Even showed the stylist a pic. Had my glasses off for the cut so didnt really realize how much was coming off. At least 4" !!. She said Shoulder length ok ? Maybe if I hunch my shoulders up it is. Extremely unhappy. Will never be back.

I feel bad because Lucy was really nice but she totally wrecked my hair. She purposely frayed my fine hair. I went somewhere else to fix it a bit but it will take at least a year to grow out. The haircut was a poor attempt at something that was popular in the 90s and nothing like I wanted. The technique she used to cut my hair is outdated and no longer taught. ETA: there are pieces of my hair that are less then two inches long :(
