Terrible Customer service - booked a hot stone massage . when i got there they hadnt even turned stones on . When i spoke to woman at front desk she really didnt care and took no responsibility that she messed up and offered no alternative solutions . I booked a day off work for a relaxing spa day for nothing . I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
I really enjoy coming to this spa. It is very relaxing, clean and in a great location! Staff are friendly and are very accommodating when booking services. I will return for sure!
My daughter and I had an amazing experience. Cant wait to book again. She loved the Diva Delight ????
Had a luxurious couples massage with my husband. Definitely recommend. I slept great in the hotel as well. Will return!
Damara Day Spa has definitely changed since last I’ve visited. I had massage service, she was really professional and it was really great massage. The receptionist was very accommodating & professional. We were greeted with friendly faces and were offered complimentary tea, the spa was clean and relaxing atmosphere, completely different experience from last year. Would visit again.
This is just to inform people of things to watch out for, not to make anyone feel bad. Last October I had gone to damara and saw a poster for a wedding spa day deal, since my sister had just got engaged I thought I would inquire about it. The secretary said she would email me the poster and her name and that I could book it for the following August. About 5 months later I called to book it and they had no idea what I was talking about and I had to email that poster back to them. I booked my sister, myself and mother in. A couple days before the spa day I called to make sure everything was booked correctly and the person on the phone told me the massage, mani and pedi would be together. When i asked how long each part would be she could not give me an answer to anything except the massage. We arrived 15 minutes early to the appointment, as soon as we got there they told me that they couldn't include a piece of the spa day in the deal even though I had sent the poster months beforehand. My sisters hydrafacial was first which took 30 minutes, after the fact I found out it was supposed to be 50 minutes. When we came out they told us that we couldnt have anything together, then i argued that I was promised we could be together because that was the whole point, one of the ladies was obviously frustrated and raised her voice my mother and myself. finally they came back and after all that we only had the pedicure together. My sisters body wrap was supposed to be 90 minutes but only was about 50 minutes. The first massage for my mother was done well but my mother said that she was freezing and commented on it and the therapist didn't do anything to change it. My sister and i had to wait 20 minutes for one of our massage therapists to get to the spa. When my sister and I went in(a different room), it was also freezing and we made a comment and they said they can't change it and that it was always cold, I asked the front desk after and they have full control of the rooms temperatures from the front. During my massage I asked for the therapist to go lighter cause I bruise like a peach and every time I would ask she would be light for a minute and go back to hurting me right after. It was also obvious she didn't want to be there because she would do things like lift my foot and then just drop it when she was done, she also pulled hard on my arms and would let my arm dangle and bend in painful ways. During the manicure and pedicure they rushed the process and then it smudged during all the other stuff we were getting done. The finger nailpolish lasted only 1 day which I was extremely disappointed in after spending all that money. Everything felt rushed, unorganized and too expensive for what we got. By the end we were all freezing, cranky and definitely unsatisfied. I hope to never a bad experience again because I have always spoke highly of damara day spa and hope to continue to go there
Actual massage was fine, but in this case the massage therapist was judgy and preachy. I went in after running my very first half marathon... on the questionaire I indicated light conversation focussing on the treatment. Instead, over the course of the hour he chatted away, and proceeded to tell me that running a 'lot' is bad, compression socks are bad, chiropractic is bad, and I have a weak core. Now I am not saying I have a great core but that my stability in my core is pretty good I can do a 4 minute plank and have been doing them under the eye of a trainer for the better part of 15 years... when I said that he said I must be doing it wrong with bad form. Thanks dude.
The person that did my pedicure was really sweet so that was a none issue. However, between what seemed to be a broken massage chair and hearing an employee being spoken to poorly for a misunderstanding with another booking it was a not relaxing at all. I felt it was unprofessional to allow customers to hear those kinds of conversations and the cost was not money well spent. I also see a week later my shellack polish is peeling which normally takes at least 2 months to happen. ????
I’ve been 2 times and I will never return. Awful experience 1) I booked a couples massage and very specifically requested two RMTs. I double checked however after our appointment we were told one was an aesthetician. They told us after because they knew we wouldn’t go through with the appointment if they told us before getting treatment. I felt like they lied to my face. Awful experience 2) I booked an appointment and they called to cancel it (ok). But then when we rebooked and I showed up, they had no record of the rebooking. So I had to rebook a third time. Incredibly frustrating. I do not recommend this place. There are many other options in Saskatoon.
I booked online then called to confirm my appt for a CUSTOMIZED spa pedicure-tropical paradise, they yes. Only to find out that they don't do it anymore. Just a general pedicure. It feels like a maintainance pedicure which was done in less than 45 mins instead of 1hr. Then had a massage. My therapist is new. Asked for lavender oil but did not use, i know what lavender smells like. Didnt want to massage my low back since i pregnant, duh? Then kept complaining my room is way too cold but then i guess since she's "boiling", I just have to suck it up. Lastly when I was making payment, the staff printed me 2 different names of the therapist. I questioned, i was told its ok its just the same. What?! Honesty?! Then I asked whether my therapist is even registered. It turned out her name is not even in the system yet and wrote down the registration number. I wanted to take the other receipt for evidence on how they practice but it was snatched away from me. Serena said "what's my problem?" And told me "youre just been so unhappy". I just walked out and told them You're terrible! If the service you were expecting and paid for WASN'T DELIVERED, who is going to be happy?
I have never been to a spa before, and after my experience, I will definitely be coming back. The girls are amazing!! They can even deal with someone like me who runs at 100 miles an hour every day.
I received a pedicure on May 12th with my friends, and overall I was satisfied with the premises and the service. However, the paint job on my toes was sloppy and rushed ahnd was extremely below my standards. I messaged the spa via facebook with photos and though I can see it was read, there were no efforts made to contact me. To be clear, my friends both received beautiful work. I did not. Visit at your own risk.
Second time booking with Damara spas in Saskatoon, awesome experience so far. Knowledgeable staff! Kuddos
Amazing place! Amazing people! Love my HydraFacial!
Had a girls day with me and my one friend for manicure, pedi's and it turned out awesome highly recommend very friendly people
Over priced and poorly managed. We had couples massage appointments booked for 11:45 today which were supposed to be for 1hr. The massages were good, but only went until 12:30 and they still tried charging us for the full hour. They said that we started at 11:30 (which is when we showed up to fill out the paperwork because we were told to and didn’t get in the room until 11:40, so be prepared to count that time as time towards your massage). There are a lot better places out there and will not be going back.
Got a manicure there and the polish started falling off on the same day of the manicure. It was completely off by the next day. I would not recommend this place.
Best relaxation massage I've ever had , I will definitely be returning & I would recommend alishba to anyone .
Clean, relaxing. Feet look great after a pedicure! Thank you
Welcoming and clean environment with nice and knowledgeable staff. Covid-19 protocols are being respected. Highly recommended.
Damara needs to get it together, I’ve visited Damara in 2018 and it was a disaster from the smell of sewers to rude and unprofessional receptionist to the expensive massage that was given by know it all massage therapist, he seem to abit narcissistic anyway fast-forward, I frequently stay at the delta Bessborough for my conferences 4 months ago, I was passing by and wanted to have a look at the makeup section, I was shocked to see spa clean atmosphere, and it smelled great! And the receptionist was extremely knowledgeable about makeup and professional, I ended up booking for a body wrap and a massage which was booked with RMT Michelle and Kanchana, again it was amazing! It begin with complimentary tea and then later I went for a massage which was amazing, I decided to give another try this month and again the spa smelled horrible, the receptionist was clueless, made me fill out the form even though I’ve been here before but what a shock, the massage was okay but from a upscale spa and the amount your paying, we deserve better! I specifically asked for Michelle RMT but was given someone else, I ignored it because I thought the spa had changed! It’s a deep shame.
I am putting a five but actually a one. My time was not a full hour it was forty minutes
Relaxing and clean environment, welcoming and professional staff and services are above standard. Highly recommended.
Very good service.. i have been getting rehab massages after a car accident there and its been very helpful.. very nice staff and with new owners things are looking way better...
I had massage from Damara Day Spa Stonebridge location, it was very good , so I have tried this time at Bessborough location, it was a wow with the RMT Nichole. She is so good as I had some issue with my lower back, after the treatment I was was so relief and would definitely recommend her.
Amazing massages and pedi services! Will always come to this spa when I need some pampering.
HAD A GREAT FIRST EXPERIENCE HERE 2 WEEKS AGO, MY PARTER RAVED ABOUT THIS PLACE & WE WILL RETURN FOR FUTURE COUPLE TREATMENTS I HAD MICHELLE AND MY WIFE HAD MARGRITTA NICE LADYS
Have had great service there before and kind staff ( so I returned). My latest visit, staff seemed inexperienced and I was even harmed. Had to pay for the same services to be corrected elsewhere.
Booked couples massage and pedicures as an anniversary present. Rearranged day to accommodate booking (owner booked). Waited 20 minutes past appointment gave up and left. I have used many spas around the world, never have I felt so insignificant. Reception was apologetic as the staff weren't there. Sat in a waiting room listening to baby crying intermittently. Awesome relaxing experience. I am way more wound up than if I had never made the call.
Strong, overpowering sewer smell from the hotel that was wafting into the spa. When mentioned to the ladies performing our treatment they seemed surprised by the comment... A bit of Febreeze was sprayed but only helped for a short time. The lady performing the treatment for my friend kept leaving the pedicure room to do something else, which left a 1/2 time difference in our treatments and my friend feeling like her service was rushed... for $90/ pedicure this place does was not worth the time or money. Will not return, nor recommend.
Great location in the beautiful Bessborough hotel, downtown Saskatoon. Had high expectations for a $84 1 hour massage. Made a reservation and when we arrived there was nobody to guide us to the boot room or check in. Was given a great form to fill out inquiring how you wanted your massage. Turns out they just collect the form and don't read it. Sheets had hairs on it when I arrived. I blew them off and tried to ignore it. Proceeded to receive a mediocre massage opposite of how I filled out my form. Would not recommend
I recently had a facial done here and I must say that from the first point of contact until I walked out, I had an exceptional experience. The receptionist was very friendly and informative over the phone. The aesthetician who did the facial was absolutely wonderful. She was professional, yet very personable. They use a very high end Swiss based skincare line. The spa is located inside the Delta Bessborough Hotel which I had never been inside of, so that was a bonus. My service was just under $200 and worth every cent!
I booked online for a specific RMT, time and type of massage. When I arrived, I got an esthetician not an RMT, no one else was there for a registered massage therapist and I was still charged full price, as though I had gotten exactly what I had booked. When I requested the Manager contact information, I was provided a general email address, so I'm doubtful the manager will actually get my message. If a company is going to use an online booking system that detailed, you would think it would transfer to their location so the client gets what was booked.
We booked massages and a body wrap. Staff was excellent, atmosphere was great, highly recommend!
Went for a gel manicure and the quality was horrible. We were staying at the hotel and before I got to my room I realized one nail hadn’t set and needed to be redone. One week later 3 nails have chipped and one has completely broken off. I continuously have gel on my nails and never have this issue. I do not recommend this service at this location.
Roger and Stephanie (RMTs) were beyond professional. Stephanie (I hope that's her name - the RMT with red/brown curly hair) even checked us in and got us filling out our forms after a very long wait at the front desk. The massages were great, and the room and heated blankets were very warm and relaxing. The only area that fell short was reception, and I may be biased previously having worked that role at other spas. I do not feel this short fall is entirely the staff's - training and the set up of the front desk are definitely most at fault. Having previously worked reception in a similar environment I know how crucial tips can be as additional income for RMTs and aestheticians. My partner's massage was covered by insurance, and I paid for mine on debit, so I asked the second receptionist if the tip I enter into the debit machine can be split between the two RMTs. Front desk staff said they did not know how to do that, and offered no alternate solution. I said okay, can you ring through a second transaction as a tip for the other RMT? Again, same response - didn't know how and offered no other solution (though I know both tipping options I offered are possible on Milano). Finally, my partner was like I think I remember seeing an ATM in the hotel lobby, I'll go take out cash. He tried to get change from the front desk staff for the tip, but that was somehow an issue as well. If we hadn't been persistent and suggested like 3-4 different options (something the front desk staff should be trained to do), the RMT would have missed out on a tip. I can't imagine how many tips the staff are missing out on because of the front desk staff not knowing how to work Milano and not offering other options. If you want good front desk staff, you need to train them well, treat them well, and pay them well. People shouldn't be met with a long wait time, a disinterested shrug and "IdK" when questions are asked, etc. I am appreciative though of the first receptionist for quickly processing our insurance - she seemed swamped and like she didn't have much support.
A great place to be pampered
Massage was one of the worst I had. The bed wasn't heated so I felt cold the entire time. The entire experience was not to the standard I'd imagine for an upscale hotel in the city. The spa should know better than to charge high rates for sub-standard services....
Amazing spa atmosphere and great staff! Such an amazing upgrade since they got new owners at Damara Day Spa! I would suggest this place to anyone.
Went there for a facial, very nice and relaxing atmosphere . The room was nice and comfortable . Kim was my esthetician for the facial. She was amazing and knowledgeable with the facial technique. Highly recommend Kim for booking all your esthetic needs!
Nice experience but you pay a premium.
The staff were super nice, but the manicures were poor quality. We took our niece there and despite a 9am appointment that we were on time for, the staff didn't get us started until 9:20. My niece got acrylics and despite taking excellent care of them, 3 had fallen off in the first week. My partner and I got shellac. I had to request a third coat because the second clearly wasn't enough. My partner didn't request a third coat and his is looking very thin and uneven. The spa space itself is nice and the staff were very friendly but we wouldn't trust them with manicures again.
Pathetic place claiming they never received my reservation request. When I showed them the confirmation email, the store manager was like "I don't know why your reservation didn't come through, I need to talk to IT". I came all the way to get a massage and was told their stupid online booking is broken and that they are fully booked for today. I would give this place a zero star if I could.
highly recommend this spa, had a facial by Sam and it was amazing would totally come again. incredibly relaxing! hard to explain to do justice. you need to check them out
Therapist are great and professional. However management of the spa are unbelievably without any customer service knowledge, they don't care. My insurance got declined due to the Therapist being not active on the day of service, so spa needs to send them one document (so simple). Upon contacting the spa they promised to follow up. Since then they did nothing, they didn't attempt to do anything. I called the spa 5 times, emailed them, asked to speak to the manager, guess what; manager never available to answer my calls neither call me back for more than a month. Will definitely not return, I recomend you to stay away.
