I've been a customer at Locks for over twenty-five years and hope to continue for many more . The service is always excellent (please, please keep Ashley...her head massages are wonderful!). John knows exactly what to do to bring out the absolute best in my hair, and I know I will walk out with a super haircut and look great. Staff are courteous and happy to respond to any request. Poor customer service. Not polite, timely or attentive. Daughter went for a consultation - arrived 3 minutes early for appointment. Staff let her in and proceeded to leave her standing randomly at the front of the establishment for 10 minutes before she asked if she was supposed to wait where she was. Staff told her the stylist would "be out" shortly and she came out 5 minutes later. She proceeded to spend FIVE minutes consulting with my daughter regarding an all over colour procedure. My daughter was back in the car at 6:03. Her appointment was supposed to start at 5:45 after being rescheduled by the salon. Needless to say, they won't be getting our business. The stylist also called her by the wrong name. A little more attentiveness and politeness is in order.

I am not someone who normally complains; however, given the experience I had at Locks Salon and Spa I will not be returning. I am sure that there are many people out there that love this place. I had heard very good things about the service and the quality, and was told it may be expensive, BUT I was not expecting to pay $300.00 for highlights (I have medium length hair; not thick). The quality of the highlights was marginal at best, I have had better luck with junior hairstylists than I did with the :"SENIOR" hairstylist at Locks. The personality of the hairstylist was as dry as the hair I walked out with; I got the sense that she hated her job, and in fact she pretty well told me that. Knowing that someone who has the future of your hair in their hands, and does not enjoy their job made me worry. I'm just going to break it down in points: 1. Front Desk is not helpful -- no one checked me in, someone told me to take a seat and finally after the manager saw me waiting for half an hour asked me if I needed any help.... finally I got some help. 2. Sales pitch -- throughout ... over and over.... I dont want AVEDA products, like I said, I dont want them, but thank you.... please stop asking me 3. Not confident/unproffessional -- stylist did not think that what I wanted would suit me, I understand that she is a proffessional and she knows more than I do, but dont make me feel like an idiot. There is a better way to communicate a 'poor' choice; she did not offer me alternative suggestions, nor did she give me the sense that she could be bothered to do all that work. 4. NO PRICES ANYWHERE -- I hate this crap; seriously, how am I supposed to make a smart consumer choice without any prices anywhere. I was in there for 2 hours..... $300.00..... I cannot afford that, but I paid it. In retrospect I should have argued the price. 5. The RESULT -- my hair was burned to a crisp, she left me under the dryer (with foils in) while she left for lunch.....tooo long, I have had my hair done enough times to know that. My hair was breaking off at the ends, and she proceeded to style it. I would think she should know that she shouldnt do that. I should have spoke up; I realize that now. But I know that there are people out there that let the professionals do their job and dont question it, and I'm telling you please question it or you will end up completely dissatisfied .... and less $300.00. Everyone seemed extreemly stuck up there, the atmosphere made you feel intimidated, not pleasant. I will be returning to Paul Astas as I received better quality and service for under $100.00 for the exact same freaken service (highlights and trim).

Amber is amazing! I can't wait for her to come back. I've never been happier with a stylist and as someone who has tried a lot of different cuts and colours, I've seen a few! Points to her for being a great conversationalist, too. I've had salon appointments where the conversation is forced, but never with her. We hit it off right away. She's such a kind, vibrant person and it shows in her work!

I just wanted an icy platinum: all I needed was a root touch up and some toning. My old stylist did it in 2 and a half hours for 75$. I ended up with ramen-noodle yellow with brown and orange patches. This was just a simple colour correction. It wasn't the first one I've gotten before either. At first, I was quoted 128$ for what I wanted. Then, on the day of my appointment, the SENIOR stylist tells me the original quote was underpriced, said it would cost between 3 and 400$ and take 4 hours. I showed her my inspiration colour (that I've always shown every other time) and took a deep breath and decided I deserved to treat myself. By the time it was done, i felt like something was a bit off but I was in a rush to get home and it was pitch black out. The lighting in the salon wasn't the greatest so to me it looked ashy. Then the next day I noticed it looked a bit yellow but I thought maybe it was just my lighting. So I waited for today to go in natural lighting and check out my colour and I felt SO crushed. It looked like the time I box-bleached my hair from red to blond in grade 10. I had a FULL band of orange around my head. It looks like it was never toned. I can't believe I paid $339 for this. I called to get it fixed, but now I'm not sure I even want to return. I just want to get my money back and put it towards someone who can actually give me results that are worth their price point. I'm super disheartened and this has ruined my trust in hair stylists. I'm embarrassed. My hair looks awful and to add insult to injury, I'm out 339$. On top of that, she actually had the audacity to style my hair to attempt to cover her errors. Worst salon I've EVER been to. Worst blond touch up I've EVER gotten.

Poor customer service. Tried to organize a spa day for my mom’s birthday from overseas but they made it very difficult by taking a very long time to respond to messages and then offering only one method of payment- sending my credit card details over email. By the end I felt like this was all becoming a scam and made me end up abandoning ship and go looking for a spa with better customer service.

I've been going to Locks for several years for massage therapy. Ted is a miracle worker! I've had multiple issues and Ted always provides a massage geared towards what is needed to "fix me". I've been to several massage therapists and Ted is by far the best. He listens and asks questions and I always leave feeling great and looking forward to my next appointment. Ladies at the front are always friendly when I arrive and when I leave. I've even been asked if I want to drink to take with me. My only complaint is that when it's busy, there is so much going on in the back that sometimes it's like a maze getting to the massage rooms and it can be quite noisy. I've been in the middle of a nice relaxing massage and doors are opening and closing (and not quietly) and people are talking. I do my best to ignore the noise as I want to enjoy every minute of my massage. Overall I'm a happy client.

I do not recommend the Locks Salon for hair colouring. I went to the Locks Salon for getting a light brown/dark blonde highlights for the first time. I brought several pictures with myself showing the hair colour that I liked to have. Unfortunately, the hair color did not come out in the shade that I wanted. I was given a second appointment to "fix" the colour, but that only make it worse, and damaged my hair even more. I expressed my disappointment to the front desk but it didn't really get me anywhere. I had a wedding to go the day after, and I was very disappoinment, given the amount of money I had paid for it.

Hello, my mother and myself had a special spa day together last month for my birthday. Unfortunately there were men working on your roof that day. The noise was bad enough during what was suppose to be a relaxing massage. But while I was getting undressed for it, I looked towards the window and there were two men standing a few feet away! The massage therapist was very apologetic. But I really feel that the spa shouldn’t have taken appointments while all that noise was happening. My mother paid for a whole day package for both of us, so a lot of money was spent. I even bought a product at the desk. I probably wouldn’t be writing this had the ladies at the desk offered compensation rather than shake their heads and just agree the noise was a real shame.

The wonderful staff at Locks Peterborough saved my whole wedding experience!!! I couldn't have been more happy with their customer service and how stunning my hair looked on my wedding day!!!! I was having the hardest time with the previous salon I had been booked with for months leading up to my big day and after the 4th trial i tried .... three days before my wedding I just knew i was in big trouble. In a complete panic I called the fabulous people at locks Wednesday morning and my wedding was that Friday !!!! They had me in for a trail that same day with the wonderful Jen and gave me a appointment for the that Friday for my wedding. My hair looked incredible and the whole experience was amazing in every way . When I thought all was lost and I was devastated i would look terrible on my wedding day these guys saved the day and i felt incredibly beautiful instead!!!! Jen I cant thank you enough!!!! You came in on your day off and transformed me!!! I felt so relaxed and at ease with you the morning of the wedding which I cant thank you enough for! You even managed to have my look complete with time to spare and I was able to go back to the hotel for a little quiet time to myself to reflect and collect myself before all the days events started!!! Who can say they get that on their big day! I can now thanks to you!!! I am beyond appreciative to you all and have been sharing my story and making recommendation to everyone. The compliments I had received were numerous and once they heard what you did for me I could tell many people were incredibly impressed!!! Thanks a million times over to you all!!!!! What outstanding customer service!!! You surly went above and beyond to help me and make me happy. I am just over the moon happy :-) Please... all you brides out there......learn from my mistakes and go with Locks in the first place, they really are talented and make you feel like a million bucks on your big day!!! I showed her pictures of what I thought might be nice, and asked her what she recommended. Her years of experience really shined though because I love how she took my idea and made it work for my hair. I found Janine as my hair stylist At Locks Salon & Spa about three years ago. She has vision, and helped me to grow my hair into a slanted bob. It really suits me. She trims up my haircut every couple of months now. When I want it fancier she puts in large rollers so it will be puffier. She is an amazingly talented hair stylist! She knows her products. She has recommended some to me to make my white hair shinier, and to prevent natural curl from going haywire in humidity. i am sticking with Janine.
