I arrived at Nail Time for a Manicure & French Polish. I have medical exemption from wearing a mask. Nothing was said to me as I entered but after my old French Polish was dremmled off, the technician asked me 'where's the mask?' I replied & explained that I have a medical exemption. She said I need your papers from a doctor. I explained that no, I do not have nor need any paperwork to self exempt. A second technician beside her joined in to demand I show paperwork. I explained that my husband & I had a reply letter from John Horgan's office of the Premiere in answer to our question about needing a doctors note for exemption. The Executive Director of Premiere Horgan, Thomas Guerrero replied exactly this. "I would like to inform you that there is no official documentation required to seek an exemption and we are discouraging individuals from visiting a doctor to get a note for this purpose. Anyone who is unable to wear a mask or remove a mask on their own can self declare their exemption" That is me, I have & self declare my exemption. This letter, is now attached in photos here for the record addressed to my husband should anyone Ike to see it. Along with repeated demands to show 'paperwork ' the other technician's client also chimed in that what I was saying was not true & the 3 women created a social gang type mentality. I would simply have gone somewhere else if they said before having work done that they do not honour exemptions before sitting down& having work performed. With 1/2 my nails dremmled off & no hope of continuing, I left Nails Time in total frustration & humiliation. After the said client left while I was phoning around sitting in my vehicle, Nail Time called to say come in & you can wear a shield we will finish your nails. According to the PHO, a shield is not considered a substitute for a mask as it has an opening so in effect is not meeting the PHO requirements, but it was an attempt to finish the service the technician interrupted. By then I was completely rattled by the experience & did not wish to enter the business under duress. Businesses owners need to be clear on basic human rights before trampling so easily upon them. It is not up to them to determine another human's psychological, behavioral or health condition. If unclear on these issues, do your own due diligence to contact Patient & Client Relations at the Ministry of Health or fully investigate the description of exemptions outlined in the PHO Ministerial Order No. 425 section 4 before jumping on your client publicly while you are part way in a service they are paying for. It is clearly stated even in the government of BC page that there are exemptions for people with either health conditions, physical, cognitive or mental impairments. It is further explained in the PHO # 425 in section 4 b that an exemption applies also to a person unable to wear a face covering because of (1) a psychological, behavioral or health condition or, (2) a physical, cognitive or mental impairment It is not up to a business owner or an employee to determine or inquire another person's health reasons. A British Columbian under the PHO exemptions can self exempt for any of these reasons. So far, we are still in Canada, a democracy with rights and freedoms under the Charter. Of course a business can refuse service & had the business said to me upon arrival that they couldn't accept exemptions, I would have understood & gladly went elsewhere. However, this did not become an issue until I had 1 hand with old polish removed by dremmle!! This was a very unpleasant & unprofessional experience. I was happily accepted with a wonderful experience & French Manicure with Gel Polish at Cute Nails. No questions & great service start to finish. Jacqueline

While the staff was extremely friendly, the salon was very clean, and unlike most of the nail salons in town spoke very good English. However what really upset me was that about a week after I got my nails done my nails started chipping and it's not like it was only one nail that chipped but several, now I don't do anything that should cause my nails to chip. It's really unfortunate that they do such poor work because I really did like them there. ????

I have been going to Nails Time since they opened up! I have never had a bad experience . Kenny and Lee and Anna are amazing . Now my 2 daughters are clients of theirs and they have never had any problems with their nails or pedicures…we call and they try to fit us in . I would recommend this business to everyone!

Dont recommend at all. Very improfessional, and abusive with their tools. Couldnt enjoy my services in comfort and found one to even be abusive with her tools, attitudes and end charges. Couldn't make a complaint because the customer is always wrong and if you dont like you go somewhere else is the attitude of the dominating personalities of this business. There are others more deserving in professionalism and quality of sincere services.

I thought I’d treat myself to and Gel mani and pedicure. Sadly they rushed so much that they hardly trimmed my cuticles and I still have dry skin on my feet. After spending close to 100 dollars, I’m pretty disappointed. I won’t be returning.

Got a gel fill and my boyfriend got a manicure. Did an excellent job on my gel nails they look beautiful she took her time with them and made sure they were all even and the way that I liked. Boyfriend ended up getting shellac polish as well as manicure they were very kind and made him feel comfortable for his first time. Will definitely be returning. Have tried several other nails places In town and this is by far my favourite.

They are dishonest with their prices and use illegal tools like blades that cause the feet to split. When doing nails they cant sit still to focus on their customer and charge as they assume fit. They are not sterilizing properly. And the sterilization products they use are no name from the dollar store. They seem all about the money which makes for terrible customer service and abuses.

Just went and got a pedi done today here at Nails Time & Spa with my mother. Walking in, I loved the bright and open environment and was greeted warmly by all the people there. Throughout my entire visit, I was pleased by the exceptional service I received. Everyone working there made an effort to make sure I was satisfied. The massage chairs and overall treatment were heavenly. BEST pedicure by far! I left feeling so relaxed. Cutest flower design on my toes. Love them! 10/10 would recommend. :)

I was upset with my nails when I left a negative post. I have since realized that this is not a good forum to leave a negative review. Nail Time is great, the extended family is welcoming and very good at what they do. I had one bad experience among many very good ones. Words here can damage a wonderful reputation. Nails were done extremely poorly and not wanting to take the accountability on their end and just fixing it....then to say it's your fault, wow. Rushing their work to get to the next person in a chair $$ .. Does not even deserve 1 star....Will never go back nor recommend them.

I have tried so many places in town. And finally hit the jackpot on #7. Another salon had destroyed my nail and caused insane to the point I walked out mid file job. When I called here my mother in-law and I were booked in. One of the ladies started my nails and then Ken took over and took his time and was super gentle fixing the damaged nail. And Anna had my mother in-law laughing and enjoying herself. The atmosphere here is amazing. Lots of laughter makes the time enjoyable and relaxing. LOVE our nails and unbelievably happy that we found Ken, Anna and the rest of the Nail Time family. We will for sure be back! 100 gold ???? ❤

I am struggling giving this business a 3/5 as they are a very nice family run small business that I would like to support. I got a pedi and schellac mani. Main reason for a low rating is because you don't get slippers after your pedi and have to walk barefoot around the place. I would never walk barefoot in the grocery store or other public place and i found this gross. I don't need disposable slippers, as long as they are disenfected (I'd be happy to do it myself), i would use communal flip flops even. The other reasons are the pedi was very rushed and was just ok. I was also rushed out of the salon with my shoes that did ruin my pedi a bit. The mani was quite good, but probably should have another coat as you can see that the colour is not consistent. I am hoping that the rushing was to get more clients into the salon as i totally understand that business has been aftected due to Covid and you need to get clients in and out quickly. If slippers were provided, i would consider going back for another try.

The place is nice and clean. The last time I went there they did a good job on my nails but I was telling the guy who was doing my nails that my last experience at a nail salon wasn't good because the person was rushing and it hurt, he sarcastically said "oh what did they make you bleed?" And then a minute later he cut my finger pretty deep with the electric nail file and didn't even apologize or seem too concerned. Definitely won't be returning.

I had a pedicure today and was not happy at all. I had reserved for a regular pedicure for $35 but ended up having a shellac!! Apparently I chose a shellac polish so no one said anything. Ended up paying $50. Fellow giving pedicure also drew blood when he was scraping my feet. When I said ouch he ignored it. Have used the salon before but never again. In days of COVID 19 they prefer cash!! Have had a call today to discuss problems with service and am pleased with the results .been offered compensation.

Myself, daughter and son went for pedicures. Well his experience, all together, was not good. His pedicure was done by an older fellow who seemed very inexperienced. His nail clipping was too deep and hurt my son. He was not gentle at all, ordering him to put foot there, bend knee and when my son had trouble understanding him he just pushed his foot where he wanted it. He was having shellac put on. THE WORST PART WAS THE EMPLOYEE LAUGHED AT MY SON WHEN HE WANTED POLISH AND ASKED IF HE WAS SERIOUS. Not 4 hours after leaving Nails Time his polish started to chip. As well, pieces of nail, that had been cut, but not removed completely started to come away. Overall, his experience was very disappointing. He left there very upset, because he was belittled for wanting polish and felt he’d wasted my money. We will never return and I suggest you never step thru their door.

I have been going here for a while and really enjoyed my nails and the time I had there but found it very unpleasant to always be hassled by the male owner about using my M/C, every time I was there I overheard them hassling anyone who wanted to pay this way and tried to force them to pay cash which really bothered me with it being a M/C world now a day's .. Also I started to bring in pictures of nails I wanted as I went in every 3 weeks and found them not pleasant about it , there was even one time where I didn't quite like the look of a simple designe that would take seconds to correct and said something to have the women owner actually huff at me with all these people around which embarrassed me quite a bit so needless to say I have not gone back since because I had enough of the way I was treated .. I do really enjoy this nail place but strongly feel they need to learn a little customer service and treat their paying customer's better and give them what they desire even if it takes a bit longer , this is a service we pay for who wouldn't want it without hassle ..
