I have an 8 yr old above ground pool purchased from a different retailer. Over the winter the freeze/thaw caused a puncture in the side of my pool wall and liner (we won't discuss the flooding in my basement). The other retailer was not at all helpful at all. So I reached out to Pioneer. From the moment the phone was answered I have received great service, helpful insight and guidance and fair pricing. They sent out their technicians to confirm the measurements, have communicated with me every step of the way. Fingers crossed the install goes as well as things have gone so far! Given local choices, they are the best by far! Update: The service department continues to impress! This is not a simple situation but the professionalism of the entire team has been amazing. Marcel offered a solution at a much more reasonable cost than the original vendor. My confidence in Pioneer has skyrocketed! Further update: The crew showed up today exactly as expected following the reminder phone call yesterday. The 2 gentlemen began by introducing themselves. They took a look at our issue and began working right away. So far so good. I am so impressed by the professionalism of everyone I have dealt with so far.

Pioneer Family Pools is a supplier, among others, of high quality hot tubs and swim spas manufactured in California by Watkins Wellness. If you want the best price over quality ratio for your hot tub/swim spa purchase, I suggest to look no further. I've purchased my Caldera spa from Pioneer and the entire shopping experience has been great, from my initial inquiries to the post delivery support. The Oakville store customer rep., Marcel Zachajusz, has been extremely helpful and patient throughout this long journey which, due to Covid, took 6 months from the initial order to the delivery date. I highly recommend Pioneer Family Pools, not only for the quality products they sell and the excellent before and after sales suport but also for the quality spa/pool chemicals and accessories which are actually cheaper than buying online. With many locations throughout the GTA, Pioneer Pools is also conveniently located in case on-site support is ever needed.

Sent someone to come to our house without warning or an invite, to try to get me to take down my review and then later contacted google to get it removed. When first shopping for a pool installer, Pioneer Pools was extremely competitive against other quotes. Moreover, we found their sales associate Bryn to be both very knowledgeable and very patient in answering our questions. This is why we chose Pioneer Pools, along with the fact that our neighbour and good friend chose them prior and had good experiences. Bryn was an excellent project manager, from the design stage to aligning the different contractors for a smooth and timely installation. We called him countless times throughout and he was always wonderful in explaining the next steps or what to expect. Ryan, leader of the construction team was very communicative as well and we appreciated how his crew left the site cleaner than when they arrived. The installers and orientation team were very good, and left their number in case we had any issues. We did use it due to an extreme weather event and they were very kind and patient in their response. I would definitely recommend this company. Get Bryn if you can.

We purchased a floor model which arrived in good condition except for wiring issues with the extra speakers we ordered that couldn't be successfully installed. A tech will arrive next week to do the necessary work. Purchasing the hot tub was easy with no issues at all. The sales man Michael was helpful in any questions I had and provided information upon request. A brief explanation of the hot tub was given to us by the person delivering the spa and the remaining questions were answered promptly by Michael afterwards. I would recommend Pioneer Pools.

This is one of the worst businesses I have ever had to deal with. Unfortunately they were recommended when we put our pool in a number of years ago and for the first few years they seemed fine but for the past 10 years we have had nothing but problems with them. Bad service, mistakes, pool opening not done correctly or if they "couldn't find something" they didn't bother to do the step and didn't leave a note about it. Ripped pool cover which we had to pay to replace. Not showing up when they have been booked to open the pool. Messages left at office that don't get passed on-the list of issues goes on.

Just went in to purchase an LED replacement bulb for our unground pool that was actually installed by Pioneer 2 years ago. Complete bunch of incompetents working. Quoted wrong price, not knowledgeable, and indignant when I questioned them. Must be the university crowd home for their summer jobs. Not shopping here again. 0 stars, not 1. **Addition to my review** Subsequent to my review, I exchanged emails with both store manager Courtney and gen mgr, Andrew. Both apologized and offered to make things right. I really appreciated that both cared enough to reach out to me, respond to my issues and fix things. It would have been easy for them to let me go as an unhappy customer. I would give them both 5 stars, and balance out the review at 3 stars. 0 for the original experience, but 5 for their response. It is much appreciated.

We purchased our pool from Pioneer over 20 years ago, and since we're pleased with the pool and service over the years we returned to purchase a hot tub. Michael was a patient resource as we roamed the store sitting in dry tubs, and then testing them out in our bathing suits. We are happy with our Hot Spot SX--perfect for the two of us. The installation went well thanks to Jay and Mark, it was easy to start up and use, Michael trained us on the chemical use and cleaning, and we've enjoyed it every night since. I was travelling abroad during the entire construction process, their rep Mike Lachowskyj helped to manage everything, even acted as my agent in dealing with local authorities, which made my life so much easier. Our pool came out beautiful and modern, their pool equipment and engineering is top notch. We then shopped our entire pool patio furniture at their store, the selection they have is great quality and tasteful. Store manager Ali helped us with the furnishing, she was extremely kind and professional. The delivery and assembly services are free, efficient and professional. I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. I can bring my pool water for computer testing at the store, which tells me exactly the measure of chemicals I need for weekly maintenance. What can i say? From the begining to the end, the experience of designing and building our pool has been awesome! Bryn took us through step by step with lots of great advice along the way. We were never pushed or forced to make a decision we were not comfortable with. Best advice we got early on was to try some pools out to figure out what depth suited our needs best. We have opted for a shallow pool by many standards, but its just perfect for us at 4.5ft water depth. Ryan who managed the build was exceptional! I was a little nervous because the team seemed young, but they were very professional, polite, courteous, safe and tidy. The dig took a day, Chris and his crew were so fast and precise, it was great to watch them in action. Shawn who fitted the liner was also very helpful and informative. The electrician and gas fitters were prompt and punctual and had everything planned out with ease. The whole thing took 3 weeks from dig to swimming. Pioneer managed everything and made it seem effortless. I wish doing all home projects were this enjoyable. The orientation by Cody, on how to work all the equipment proved that its simple to use. Having never had a pool before, we were daunted, but it really wasn’t necessary. We now have a stunning oasis in our backyard and its been a pleasure to deal with Pioneer and Bryn and the crew throughout the entire process.

I purchased a beautiful patio set based on a picture on the Pioneer website, as we were still in 'Stay At Home' due to Covid. When it was delivered it exceeded my expectations. Very high end set. The sales team were very friendly and helpful. The two delivery guys set it up and were so polite and friendly. We were expecting rain that day and I didn't have covers for the new set. I phoned Bri at Pioneer and she found 4 covers for me. Used curbside pickup that day and my set stayed dry. Very professional organization and I would highly recommend them. I purchased a 13x26 pool and it was constructed from ~May 20 and we were swimming by ~June 20th. It would have been sooner but landscaping (by another contractor) took a little longer than expected due to covid. We are beyond happy with our Pioneer experience. Starting with the purchasing and quotation from Mike, to the construction and the orientation on how to use the pool. Pioneer delivered on their promise to give us the pool we dreamed of. Matt and Ali, This summer I had issues with my salt water chlorinator. Ali and Matt worked with the manufacturer to arrange for a new unit at a discounted price and arranged for installation in a very tight space that even they were worried would not accommodate the unit. This review is for the Oakville store for Pioneer Family Pools and specifically for pool construction. We dealt with Bryn Evans and had issue with his policy of not providing referrals. For this reason we did not decide to use Pioneer. Bryn referred us to social media for reviews. We did this and it was difficult to discern what was a reference specifically for the store and/or Oakville pool construction. If took the reviews at face value, we would not have gone with Pioneer. But, to give them the benefit of the doubt, we went back to Bryn for references and explained our rationale. He was clear that he does not have or give references. He finds it ‘intrusive’. We felt strongly that when spending $100k+, you should at a minimum speak to other customers. For this reason, we decided not to place our business with Bryn Evans / Pioneer Family Pools.

Pool construction was started in early May. After two days, an underground spring caused a water problem. We were left on our own how to solve the problem. I would expect that a company in the business of installing pools would have a consultant on hand to assess the problem. We were left entirely on our own to do something about it. We had a weeping tile installed. It is now July and, as far as we know, nobody has come to check the yard. We have the pool walls cemented in and the yard is completely unusable with all the construction mess. We would like to have some communication with Pioneer Pools to discuss next steps. It is too late to abort the project.

After spending over a week getting the run around from various pool companies trying to find a solution for our salt water generator, it was a tremendous relief to be in touch with Pioneer Pools in Oakville. Even though service appointments were being made five days away, after hearing the situation, the service manager himself took the time to trouble shoot over the phone and rather than have us wait five days, offered to drop by to sort out the problem. Needless to say, an immediate and cost-effective solution was found that saved us hundreds of dollars. I highly recommend Pioneer Pools in Oakville for your pool service needs. purchased a solar blanket here for 2018 season. Just put it in garbage. Now we all know that solar blankets don't last anywhere near what is claimed but nonetheless we buy them because there is no other option. This blanket that I bought at Pioneer Pools in Oakville (corporate store) was junk. In all the years I have owned a pool I have never had this problem. Not sure if it was old stock or what but barely lasted one season. When I called about warranty I was told I had to bring back to store. I explained that I lived over an hour away and could I take a picture i was told no, they had to send back. Could I drop it of at Kitchener store I asked ? No, they are not a corporate store. Junk junk junk and roadblocks to warranty it. And this is from CORPORATE PIONEER POOLS !! Fortunately, when the 1600$ robotic cleaner I bought had the remote go bad, I could call the manufacturer who stepped up amazingly and couriered a new one out to me after walking me thru troubleshooting. I am convinced Pioneer Pools would have given me the same run-a-round on that issue as well. Last time I buy ANYTHING from this company ... corporate store or not !!

We just finished our new Pool and landscaping in our new house with Pioneer Pool. This is the second pool that we've installed and both were through Pioneer. This time around, I decided to get quotes from 3 pool companies, including Pioneer. What swayed us towards Pioneer was the experience we had from owning our first pool. Whenever their was any type of issue, Pioneer was quick to respond and to stand behind their product. They really step up to the plate to rectify any problem, and try to assist in some way even if it is out of warranty. They are so big that they have a lot of leverage with the pool equipment suppliers to help you out. I hesitated to have a smaller one-man-show operation install the pool because what if I couldn't get hold of the owner or they closed down...I would be out of luck. With Pioneer they have so many support staff and wouldn't risk their reputation by avoiding dealing with any complaints. What sealed the deal on choosing Pioneer was our Salesperson, Mike L at the Oakville store. He is one of the most organized, well-prepared and proactive person I've ever met. On the day we arranged to meet with Mike, I reminded my wife that we were only here to get a quote and were not signing up for the pool today. After meeting with Mike and listening to his recommendations we both decided then and there to proceed with Pioneer and put down a deposit. Mike was amazing throughout the whole process. He provided us with one of the landscaping companies that they work with and he coordinated everything from the Building permits, Arborist reports, landscaping coordination with the pool builder, and especially dealing with the Town of Oakville. I honestly don't know how anyone does this on their own. One week before the pool was to be dug, I called Mike to tell him we changed our mind on the orientation of the pool. We were now going to rotate it 90 degrees and reposition it. Without missing a beat, Mike contacted the landscape designer to redo the elevation drawing and somehow managed to make it happen without impacting the install date. His recommendation on the liner colour was perfect, as well as the depths of the pool. Always reachable, we are thankful to have had Mike on our side with his calm, cool demeanor. Whenever he disagreed with something we suggested, he would explain the reason why which always made sense. We quickly learned to trust his 30+ years of experience. Thanks Mike and Pioneer....this hot weekend was tolerable swimming in our beautiful and maintenance free pool!

What a disappointing service! After reading all of the great reviews here, i went to their store on Wednesday and scheduled a technician since i had an issue with the pump. i was told that a technician would arrive on Friday(just before the long weekend). On Friday i called them once again around 2pm and was told that a technician will arrive. On Saturday morning i called them once again and was updated that my appointment was pushed for Tuesday(without anybody calling me or notifying me). During the weekend i received another notification that a technician should arrive on Tuesday but once again no phone call or any technician. I get it that it might be a busy time of the year and i get it that there might be unexpected thing poping up but i don't get what type of service is it when i was told to way 9-4 PM and nobody update me about not showing up. Luckily a friend of mine helped me to fix the leak but i will not use Pioneer services anymore. How can you trust someone to fix your problem if they are not responsible enough to notify you about not showing up?

On delivery day I was astonished that Michael arrived with his team to assist Jay and Mark who had to guide the 7 man tub into my backyard. Not an easy task but they made it look like a breeze! I have never had any issues until recently. We found out we have a leak in the pool but trying to get it fixed is getting frustrating. If i didn't call both times I wouldn't have known about the no booking in the system. Not sure what's going on. The first person we spoke to said that we will have it fixed on May 28th. I called to ask what we need to prepare before they come and i was told there was no booking. After a few calls and email exchanges we got a new date. I called to verify a few things and AGAIN no booking. Not sure if they forgot to put it in or what the process is. It is frustrating that we are already getting the pool fixed a few weeks after the initial day we spoke to the first person about. We just want our pool fixed!!!

Very disappointed to see that Pioneer still carries the Hayward 650 Pool Vac. It is the highest priced and most useless pool vac on the market. I bought this unit from Pioneer last season and had to return it. Pioneer was good to give me a full refund and the sales person said to me they were pulling the unit due to all the customer complaints. Now I see its back. I strongly recommend that you avoid this unit if you are in the market for a an automatic pool cleaner. Here are the issues I had. I will never trust or buy Hayward Pool products again. Firstly, despite the marketing, with no filter the unit does not capture any fine dirt. The internal screening is too wide to capture dirt. The unit just blows the dirt back into the pool and within an hour the pool is dirty again. Second, the unit does not work as advertised. It is supposed to have a tug system that when you tug twice after the unit is dormant, it is supposed to return to the surface. The tug system does not work and after calling Hayward, they acknowledged that they knew about this but released the unit anyway. Basically Hayward released the product for sale knowing of the issue, with no resolution, and no warning to the distributors selling the pool vac. Thirdly, the instruction guide is useless and the AP is awkward which did not have connectivity through my home WIFI. Further, the software control does not even include a timer to understand how long a clean will take. The base that holds the unit is cheaply constructed. The instructions also caution against use of pool chemicals when using and not to use the unit when the pool is very dirty such as during pool openings. What is the point of a pool cleaner that does not clean the pool? I returned the unit and went back to the latest WIFI Polaris 9650IQ which is easy to use, has a proper large filter, connects to the internet, and has user friendly AP. You can also read all the negative reviews on Troublefreepool.com and see video reviews on Youtube that confirm my findings and more. The issues with Hayward Pool Vac are not Pioneers fault but its disappointing to see that Pioneer still carries the unit when they know it does not work well.

We had our pool installed in October of 2020, during the pandemic. We reached out to Bryn Evans in April of 2020, and he was simply amazing. He was prompt, thorough, professional, and such a great guy. Bryn drew us a wonderful design, and made really good suggestions based on his years of experience and expertise. I can't tell you how happy we have been with him, and with Pioneer. The construction was also excellent. Brian and his team were super professional, and extremely talented throughout the building process. As a first time pool owner, I can tell you that the entire team at Pioneer walked us through everything we need to know, and continue to be available for maintenance questions etc. Cody and Colleen are responsible for orientation, and even that has been a 5 out of 5 experience. They all exemplify excellence and professionalism. Thanks to the entire team at Pioneer, I would recommend them over and over again, and we couldn't be more thankful for them all. Disappointment with service levels at Pioneer - Oakville store To: Grant Wallace, Owner Dear Mr. Wallace, We had our inground pool installed by Pioneer years ago - installation service was excellent. Following is my experience last Sunday making 3 trips to Oakville store (initially to have water analyzed and pickup a new duo 130 filter). then a trip to Burlington store; - walk in, there's a "greeter" at front reception not busy - asked her the cost of an umbrella - doesn't know, & not motivated to find out, suggests I speak to one of the other service folks, goes back to what she was doing before - i.e. smiling at the front door; - wander over to the multi windowed cedar cabin/ pavillion/ cubby display - prices are shown for different itms but one can't relate prices to which structure is displayed (the one that interests me. I ask a floor rep which this is? he doesn't know, and refers me to a girl for answers - but she has no idea either - tells me to phone Garrick - water analysis- good service, employees here are engaging, knowledeable and helpful; - go over to filters duo/neo and inadvertently pick up the wrong one (later as it turns out the only ones in stock) - I try to phone Oakville store when home and discover I need "130" filter - Voice mail for every department and once you are shunted to voicemail for a department, you have to hangup and phone back to try to get anyone to answer ffrom each department - Now the image of the "greeter" at the front door sitting by a telephone doing absolutely nothing looms larger; - have to drive back to oakville store being unable to reach anyone; Pass our "greeter" at the front door again, sitting by the telphone, doing nothing. - talk to floor rep he searches for 130 neo filter, - none found, says they are out but doesn't know when order coming in; Says 130 system very common and popular; - I ask for the manager - am told he's gone home early; - speak to Dan at pool service desk, ask him to phone Burlington store - we both wait approx 3 min. attempting to get anyone to pickup at Burlington store; - Are you seeing a pattern here yet? - I drive to Burlington store - what a great store, I ask about an umbrella even the cashier is knowledgeable and helpful; I buy an umbrella plus filter and a few other items. Additional - the inability to reach a live person at Oakville Pioneer by telephone has been my experience over years, it's not a transient problem; - I left my contact info with cashier at oakville ans asked that it be passed on to the owner; This hasn't happened, either it wasn't passed on or, the service attitude at Oakville directly reflects that of it's owner/management. - I'll visit Burlington Pioneer again - great staff and selection;

Last year we sold our cottage on an island in Georgian Bay and decided to create a backyard oasis centred around a large inground pool. We wanted uncompromising quality and finish and made no secret about this. A friend of ours who happens to be similarly uncompromising had a pool put in a couple years and highly recommended Pioneer Pools. We connected with Bryn Evans as our salesman and he quickly grasped our concept of what we wanted from our backyard oasis and walked us through design including a couple different options. It didn’t take long to agree on design and price and a date was penciled in for construction to begin. Construction began on the date planned and all aspects followed to our loosely put together schedule. Hardly a day went by when nobody was on site. Bryn recommended all the sub trades needed for concrete work, electrical, fencing and coping stone installation. All work was completed in a timely way and at a reasonable price. We used Pioneer Pools to build our 16x32 rectangle inground pool (Caribbean grey liner - which we love). My family is enjoying our Pioneer Pool so much! I highly recommend Pioneer Pools, the over cost was pretty much the same as many other pool builders but the service and quality were great. We decided on Pioneer because we liked the idea that they just specialize in pools (not landscaping, etc.) and many people we know have used Pioneer. From the moment of consultation to build, Bryn Evans has been amazing, he has answered every question or concern we have had. The build process only took about 3 days and the crews that built our pool were great (very personable, clean and efficient). After the pool was built Pioneer Pools set up an in-service that taught us everything we need to know about owning and operating a pool. Any small issue or concern we have had was promptly addressed and fixed. I would highly recommend Pioneer Pools (and Bryn Evans) if you're in the market for an inground pool. Worth the investment!

Every step of the way from meeting to design, all the final details, even when we took forever to decide on a liner the patience and support from Bryn was incredible. But it didn’t stop there as our pool got completed we also had the pleaser of dealing with Colleen who helped us manage our pool chemistry which as a new salt water pool owner can be tricky. After a year of enjoying or amazing pool we were scared when we saw major wrinkles in the pool due to our lack of knowledge of the sump well. With once again prompt guidance from Bryn to booking the repair we can’t thank them them enough to take care of this for us with no expense. Worst experience with Pioneer Pool during last 3 yrs: pool opened on 22nd. Wastes everywhere, forgot to add open chemicals (I reminded while they’re running away, they added some chemicals but not the kit). And the second day after the opening, my heater was leaking, such a bad experience! Complained in the store, seems no help.

Bryn of Pioneer Pools and his team take care of the entire process from organizing city permits, to building your pool and any other needs you may have such as decking, stone patio, landscaping, carpentry, lighting etc. Highly organized as there were no lag time between the trade work (gas, electrical, landscaping, etc) ensuring our pool was completed in the most time efficient manner as we were surprised with how many different trades that are involved in the process. Regardless, the entire process was managed by Pioneer. Furthermore, they are highly attentive to the needs of their clients and are committed to high quality work.
