My daughter presented me with a gift certificate for my special birthday. I had the full package at Rain Spa which included a full body massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. I felt like a Queen for a day. The staff was wonderful and when I walked out I felt like a new woman. It was a very positive experience.

We literally walked into Rain Spa thinking that we were "taking a hit" by getting massages at a local spa and promised ourselves we would go Downtown (Toronto) for a "real" spa experience when our schedules were clearer. Then we walked in and were pleasantly surprised. While the space is small, they really make up for that in their service. They had delicious banana bread prepared for guests (I would've preferred if it was covered while sitting in the waiting room) as well slippers and robes were provided for us to wear during our visit. After giving us a really personal and nice change room to get undressed in, we were escorted to a small, more private waiting room where we were offered tea and could comfortably sit and wait to get our massages. It was awesome to have our massages in a "couples" room and my masseuse did an amazing job and even recommended exercises to do at home for my tense neck/back. Overall the experience was excellent and we booked our second visit before leaving from our first appt. The only downside is that their waiting room/reception area is TINY! It's a tight fit and I couldnt imagine being there during a busy hour. I will definitely avoid high times because of that. Needless to say. We wont be going downtown anymore.

Christina has been incredible in helping me to improve my skin texture and keeping me looking youthful. I found Rain Spa Salon online, it is so close to where we live and has a 4 stars rating, thought I would give it a try. So I booked a couple massage for myself and my husband online, and got four phone calls and four emails notification to confirm my appointment. But missed out the couple massage when I selected the option?! Good thing that I clarified with the receptionist on the last phone call, and she was so friendly and patience to fix the problem. That was a bonus! Anyhow, we got there, got in, the person who massaged my husband has latex gloves on. He didn't complaint b/c he thought maybe everyone is doing it differently. And his body smells like latex afterward. Also he told me that the person who massaged him didn't feel like a massage, just a gentle pad on his skin. It was relaxing but he didn't feel that he got a massage. My RMT was not bad, couldn't use more force. Will I recommend this place?! Most like no!

My husband and I went for custom facials and a couples massage to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both had great experiences with both services. I have bad acne and Joanna gave me a great facial to help with my acne and recommended some new products and a new regime to assist with my skin care routine. We ended off with a nice relaxing massage and couldn’t be happier with the staff, services and the spa itself.

I got the eyelash perm treatment done. Looked at myself in the mirror and don’t a very minor difference. I had this done in the past and you can obviously tell it has been curled. One side is also curlier than the other. After telling her, she was defensive and emphasize how my procedure was already 3 mins longer! She also blamed on my eyelashes not having the same length on each eye. I looked at myself in the mirror again. $90 (with tips and tax), this is so not worth it. No one would notice my eyelashes got permed. I called for a redo. After multiple, "I will have to get back to you". They are willingly to redo it. I received another call saying I have to wait a month. This is not something I was looking for so I asked for a refund/credit. They told me they will get back to me and never did! So disappointed!

the pedi, did not even do anything, i was still left with feet that felt like sandpaper. also, the waxing room, was lite up like a fourth of july, and therefore was very uncomfortable setting in which to have something private worked on.

I've been here many, many times (for waxes, nails and once a massage) and had left beyond satisfied with each visit. I am actually surprised if anyone could really have a negative experience at Rain...the front desk girls are absolute sweethearts, always asking how your services went or if they could serve you with anything etc. I've been to a few salons since and I can genuinely say that nothing has yet compared to the results and quality of the service they provide. They also have a wide range of services they offer, and products as well - the owner's daughter (aka manager) owns her own make-up line "MOMO Cosmetics" which is sold there - great stuff. I've noticed that the staff has changed a lot over the years also, but they've always been open to client preferences (you can request certain estheticians etc.) so I don't see where you could go wrong! Definitely going to continue booking with them!!

Quality Excellent Today I had my second facial in Rain. I'm so relaxed, and my skin feels so good. The natural fruit products they used smelled so good I had to stop myself on tasting them. The therapist was extremely gentle and took so much care of me that I almost fall asleep. Actually I think I did. My face has never being so clean and soft. Services were also wonderful. This is definitely a Spa is worth to visit. Trust me... You can't miss it.

I loved everything about the spa. Since the moment I first come in until I leave. The receptionists are really welcoming and already offer you a tea while you are waiting on the cute tea room. I loved the robe they gave me to change before my massage appointment and also the really comfortable slippers. My massage with Tracy was INCREDIBLE. I'm a flight attendant and travel everywhere in the world and I can say that was definitely one of the best massage I had. I will definitely come back and recommend!!

I went here for the first time just yesterday for mani-pedi. In under 36 hours my nails have started chipping. I can forgive fingernails but toenails chipping in under 36 hours is just sad. Usually it would last me 3 weeks. They're nice people but the work quality is meh at best and the atmosphere isn't relaxing or comfortable. With noise of hair dryer and waxing devices etc all in 500 sqft space, it's a bit too much.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Rain Spa. Very unprofessional manager. They made a mistake and booked my appointment with whoever they happened to have available when I was extremely clear on my preference when booking the massage, They did nothing to compensate for what was clearly a mistake on their part, and the manager was very rude and stated that yes they made a mistake but I had a massage and I should be happy with it. Not sure how they don't understand the very basics of customer service but I would never go to this salon again nor recommend it.

I had a microdermabrarion facial treatment at this spa. And the facialist reassured me that my skin would improve and even if it does not improve significantly it would not cause it to break out in acne. After the facial I experienced the worse acne I have every gotten. Breakout, after breakout and when calling the salon they offered very little help and didnt give any solutions to help. It is safe to say I will never be returning there again and urge you to take extreme caution before booking an appointment for a facial.

This should not be called a spa. The pre-treatment "relaxation" room is co-ed so you sit in your robe with men and women together. The room backs on to Sheppard so you can't hear anything except traffic. They called me in 15 minutes late for my massage and then wanted to charge me for the full hour, trying to convince me I had gone in at the right time. The massage itself was not bad, but not great. Definitely did not listen to what I had requested in terms of where to focus (mid & lower back) and she put way too much oil on my back, I had to ask her to remove some. Otherwise, the massage itself was average. Mostly the atmosphere was completely non-relaxing and the desk staff were super rude. I would never go back here.

This spa was alright. I had a Swedish massage from head to toe, but I expected more. I didn't feel like all my kinks were smoothed out, but the masseuse was a darling. The staff was also wonderful. The room was nice and clean and after you're done, they send you to a room to have tea of all favours. I don't think I'd go again, for I'd like to see what's out there and if other spas can top this one.

I called multiple times to book my appointment, they kept handing me off to other people, and putting me on hold. Very rude over the phone, talking to other people while I'm on the phone with them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME THERE ITS NOT WORTH IT !! I had previously before booking an appointment taken my friend to ask how much a back, chest and shoulders would cost. They quoted me in front of my friend 120 including tax however after completing an additional service which I did not ask for they charged me 175 which is not right. The place may look fancy but do not be fooled by its appearance. This was my first time I decided to wax instead of trim to see the difference and so I did not know what kind of wax they would use etc... after completing I had asked the person twice for after care tips which I received none of. I went home and did a little more research and saw that they used the wrong wax which is the reason it hurt so much and they said I could do what I normally do which would include the gym which is a big no no! I will not be going back there ever and they have left an everlasting scar of waxing which is something I will not do again either. I will also inform my family and friends not to go there as well. JUST TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

The couples’ room was very relaxing, and the therapists were great, even providing tips for stretching and strength exercises to help with my problem areas. I have a 1 month old baby, I went for a hair cut and I was advice that if my baby start crying I should leave. As my baby was sleeping I stayed for the hair cut. Before the service was done my baby woke up and so I decided to leave. But as I was waiting to pay (one other person was infant of me) my baby started crying. A "lady" came out from the laser room and beyond rude started yelling "take that baby out of here" several times. As I was paying the kind girl that was doing my hair had to take out my son so this awful lady stop yelling. Outside it was freezing cold and windy. I can´t understand how can I person be so rude and have no idea of humanity. I would never go back to that place. I can´t stand somebody that talk like that to my little son. IF YOU HAVE BABIES YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED TO THAT PLACE. AWFUL PLACE!!!!

I will start by saying that the place is very beautiful and clean. The service started about 12 minutes late. The Shellac manicure wasn't really that good. It was suppose to come with a full massage treatment that a regular manicure would have come with but I only got a little lotion and a rundown at the end. It really wasn't worth the $45. When I went outside, I noticed that there was some polish on the tip of my fingers near the nail and some of my cuticles were painted on. Overall it's not the quality you would expect for such a high class spa. Im disappointed.

RUDE, ARROGANT and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I used to be a happy client of theirs. But no longer I am willing to deal with them. I don't know if they changed owners/management in 2018 or upgraded their systems to a stage that reception cannot handle the system but the simple task of call-book an appointment has become a disaster. The receptionist told me I am blocked because I refused to leave them a credit card number when I last scheduled an appointment. I explained, this is wrong, I was there in February and booked an appointment and gave you my credit card, I did not like it to give you that, but I still did because I like my masseur. SHer response was, you are blocked, fixing it is out of her power and call back later. I called back later, she said the same thing and then hung up on me. I had another problem last time I tried to book with them. I cannot explain now, because I booked an appointment with their competitor in half an hour :D. Must run.

Several years ago I started going to Rain Spa for mani-pedi and massage services. Always a pleasant experience. From that I began having my hair coloured and cut by Jeff. I've never received so many compliments. The many friends I've taken there have also had a good experience. The only time that something went wrong (a pedicure by a new technician) the Spa dealt with it effectively and issued a gift card with an apology. It isn't the cheapest place in the city but that's not my priority. The cost is reasonable for the level of service and pleasure I receive. Can hardly wait to see the renovations completed.

Amazing first experience at this salon! I had a massage with Angela and she was WONDERFUL. Very kind, easy to talk to (I'm the kind of person who likes to chat), and skilled massage therapist. She applied just enough pressure to the problem areas (and told me to let her know if it was more than I can handle) to offer a good therapeutic massage and one that felt also great (in my experience usually the two don't go hand-in-hand). She definitely incorporates deep tissue into her style. I have never been more thoroughly attended to than this visit. Sometimes you feel as though therapists rush or cut short an appointment and this was the complete opposite! Will definitely return. Great service and lovely salon.

The reason for giving one star despite having a good experience at massage was the non effectiveness of the facial I had. The customized facial costed me $100 but was not at all effective. The blackheads/whiteheads still remained. The facial was just a process of putting masks n cream one after the other & that there was no massage or effort taken otherwise. Infact the exfoliation lead to appearance of pimples & marks on face. It was total waste of money. Highly disappointed & do not recommend this place.

Huge disappointment after being a returning customer. Upon receiving a gift certificate for a "custom facial" (Cost $125) I did some research on the Rain website which stated, "All facials are customized. You and your aestheticism will chose type of treatments according to your skin type and conditions."One would assume, whatever the aesthetician recommended would be included in the price for the service booked.... My consultation ended with a recommendation, one that little to my knowledge before OR during the treatment would be significantly more expensive! When I reached out to the spa feeling cheated and upset not expecting this kind of service from Rain with my Mother in Law being their customer from the beginning. I was contacted by the manager with an attitude like this was my wrong doing, and implied I signed papers about my treatment, I still to this date never saw any papers or certainly did not sign any (little concerning considering they say those papers were "mandatory" yet never showed it to the customer?). I had asked the aesthetician if being outside would be okay in the cold weather after the treatment, she advised it was.. and I peeled for a week and a half, my face looking worse than ever! To which the manager also replied "its winter". ALSO this was rescheduled after the spa canceled two hours before my original appointment due to the aesthetician being sick, which is fine I dont want to be worked on by someone sick, but this same spa had charged me 50% of a service a year prior for calling them informing them I was sick with 14 hours notice. This is certainly not the service I would expect or accept from a spa at this price point, my advice, save your money. Its Willowdale - there's lots of options where customer service is not an option!

I LEFT IN TEARS. I did not have a good experience the first visit. My facial was rushed from cleansing to masque (beginning to end) So I didn’t come back. I have a $300+ gift card left I tried it again 1yr later. Prior to booking I mentioned My experience was not present the first time. I requested for this one to be good. I was assured I would be taken care of. I took the day off to enjoy a 60min massage because I never have time for myself. My session could have been better if I had the opportunity to relax. However the massage therapist brought up the wrong conversations during the massage. The questions carried from my age,living situation, where I lived before, whom I’ve lived with before,how much I pay in rent, where I live, parents occupation, reasons to why my mother is unemployed, how does she support herself, and more uncomfortable personal questions. I answered because I felt pressured in the moment and afraid to say “Please don’t ask these questions I like quiet”. It is not my job as a customer to inform them how to be professional. I was so upset thinking about all the misery in my life that I couldn’t relax and feel her massage. I just felt pain and sadness towards my life. Leaving the spa the receptionist upstairs charged me an extra for invalid reason. I had a voucher for visiting this month and she told me she’s unable to accept it because it has to be a print out on paper. Myvoucher on email said show this ad as is. So she said I can email her and she will print it out. Then she made excuses like the printer is down and then it eventually worked and she gave me a receipt. I left and realize she did not apply the voucher. I do not appreciate the lack of effort and dishonesty. I went back in and spoke with another receptionist and she helped me out. I can not get cash for my gift card but I’m uninterested in going again. I spent a lot of money on this gift card/spa and I don’t know what they can do to make my experience a 10 star experience so I can give a better review. The spa looks high end and prices are a bit high but I felt ripped off. I left with more emotional weight than I did prior to my appointment. I was in tears at the front desk and unfortunately the manager was unable to hear me out. Because she was in a meeting few steps away from the front desk. She should have been informed immediately. No client should have left upset or in tears. I came to relax and listen to soft music not get questioned about my personal life and income.

Worst experience that I have with a spa. I called to booked an appointment, the lady on phone was very very slow. She killed me until to add my name in system. Then, they asked for my credit cart information over the phone just for book an appointment. This is totally unacceptable to ask someone to provide credit card information just for an appointment. I had great experience with other therapist and they never ever asked me to give them my credit card info. It's an unprofessional behavior for a small business which trying to have new customers in this high competitive market. NOT SUGGESTED.

Definitely the worst experience I've ever had. I am pregnant and booked a full arm, full leg and pedicure. Waxing: The esthetician must have been inexperienced, because she couldn't figure out how to get the back of my thighs. I went home and noticed there was still a lot of hair left. I'm thankful they let me back the next day to fix it, but not without getting some grief during the fixing. Pedicure: My heels are still dry and look terrible. Not to mention the cold, wet towel they kept drying my feet with. This place is incredibly overpriced for the services they offer. They probably do well with body wraps and facials, but for pedicures and waxing, I think I'll get much for bang for my buck elsewhere.

Exceptional service. I was so happy with my BioGel manicure which would have lasted chip-free for at least two weeks if I hadn't endeavoured to go bowling with my long nails. They were beautiful, the manicurist took her time and was very patient in helping me choose a colour to match my pedicure. Highly recommend. Worth the expense.

I went in for an eyebrow consultation and it was not what I expected. I have seen 3 other microblading artists prior to, where they took the time to go over the different methods of semi-permanent eyebrows, and they also took the time to express their professional opinion where they were able to draw out different shapes on my brows that would suit my face. I did not receive that when I went to Rain Spa. However I do not blame the artist Cristina at all. I beleive there was miscommunication at the time of booking, as the receptionist did not entail what would be involved in my "Free Eyebrow Consultation." If this information was provided to me at the time of booking, I would have inquired on pricing for a consultation that allowed an artist to draw/map out my brows. The only information I left with that day, was that the ink will eventually turn red later down the road and that I would have to get them laser removed (this is what Cristina told me behind closed doors). However, when we were having a conversation about eyebrows with another aesthetician in the upstairs lobby, Cristina changed what she said about the ink. She now said "we have the best ink here, it won't turn red." So let me rephrase what I said earlier, I have left feeling very confused about eyebrow microblading and I wish i never went for this specific consultation. It was very contradicting what she said about the ink and I guess I'm going to have to do a little more research on this with hopes that another artist can make me feel more assured. I am giving 3 stars because as a whole, the spa was very neat and tidy, and I received good customer service in general. In conclusion, to any potential customers that want to book a consultation before making a commitment, make sure you ask for details on what your appointment will involve. If you are looking to get your brows drawn on, make sure you mention that at the time of booking to avoid any disappointment and misunderstandings.

The manicures are a rip-off. I booked for shellack but they said gel was better so i thought sure why not. And when it was done it looked like a regualr manicure priced for 50 dollars. And one of the worker (I think the manager) said, “i got mine done with the gel and it lasts so long”. Not even one week and the gel came off, my nails became rough and they look weird. Hence, the review. My mom got her hair done; its a disaster and a huge disappointment.

Start of with Dimitria, She always takes care of my appointments, very organize, always with heart. Jeff is my stylist. He is so professional and he can read my mind. All I need ... just sit down and he will take care the colour and cut. I received compliment every time from my co-workers/friends after my service with him. Vicky is my massage therapist, she always make me feels so great after my time with her. She is so good that everyone ask for her.... if I want my specific time with her... I need book in advance... but totally worth it. Hoori takes care of my threading.... the best... she knows what she is doing.... should try her. Don't know what to do without her. Pedicure and Manicure - either Leena/Priscilla usually do my manicure - both of them are very good. My Pedicure always with Jennifer ... her 2 min mini leg massage at the end as the finish touch... so good. All 3 of them they always pay attentions to my need at all time. A poor and disappointing spa and salon experience! I don't know how this business got my email address but they did, and I received a coupon enticing me to book a massage and a blow dry since they're down the road. The booking was in itself difficult. The young lady on the phone was unprofessional and not very helpful, let alone kind. In person, she is no better, in fact, the reception lacks proper training for a business that's geared towards customers. Try calling for yourself. The lady who did my hair was no better, she couldn't straighten straight her with a blow dryer and spoke little English. The little she spoke, she was complaining about the owner's treatment of the staff and how little she was paid. The massage was ok except the masseuse wouldn't keep quiet, making the experience intolerable, let alone relaxing. The price was outrageously high despite the deal I was offered and made for a less than good value experience not to say a very bad one. I was told they purchase email distribution lists and that's how I got on their distribution list. An unethical business with outrageously high prices and very poor service. The only good thing is the location - they must be paying big rent for it, a price they, in turn, charge their customers.

Worst experience ever. So over priced, it's ridiculous.i went for a Mani pedi. The pedi was ok but over priced The Mani was supposed to be a full set of gel nails with polish. When I made the appointment, the girl told me it was $65 and an extra 30 for shellac polish. I told them regularl polish. When I went in, the girl told me that gel nails come with shellac polish so I told her ok. When the girl was doing my gel nails, the owner came over and got involved and told me I only needed to do five nails out of the ten and that it would come out cheaper. So she did one hand and the other girl did other hand. Let me tell you, it wasn't cheaper and my gel came off in two days, which was my daughter's wedding. They did a horrible job with the gel nails and I looked ridiculous. Can't stress enough what a horrible experience and three hours of my life

I came by today to have my hair colored. The renovations made were beautiful. I was happy with the the service and results. They also offer hair care and skin products which saved me some time from going to shoppers drugmart for buying special shampoo and conditioner to maintain colored hair. Don't be fooled by the fancy spa. Worst experience ever. 2016 I received 2 gift cards from way spa and did some research to see what spas accepted them, after coming across rain spa and seeing the pics and considering the location I thought I would give them a try. When I called the receptionist was very pleasant and highly recommended a hair stylist by the name of Runa, what I asked for and what I ended up with were two totally different things. My hair was ruin beyond repair. $310.00 later. Immediately after she finished my hair I thought not so bad because of the way she had blowed dry it, the next morning when I got up i thought omg this is so bad, I felt the tears welling up in my eyes and immediately thought the only remedy is to go to another salon and fix it. Which is exactly what I did, the new stylist that I seen the following day basically said I will do my best but with the damage she could only guaranteed 50% improvement. At this point I decided to call rain spa and address the issue, I was referred to the manager Monique who was very understanding and apologetic, she than refer me to the owner by the name of Manny, after 2 days of playing telephone tag I finally had the chance to dicuss and try to resolve the issue, my request was that they reinburst me for some of the expenses because I was out $310.00 and to top it off my hair was ruined. Manny supposibly the owner all of a sudden said she was the manager and that Runa was a free Lance stylist and was not willing to credit me back for any of my expenses. Lesson learned fancy spa and location mean nothing, the the high price tag even worse, high way robbery. Be ware don't be fooled.

Wasn’t a relaxing massage with a spa like feel. I was late for my apt ( due to traffic and I had called the spa to let them know) before and after my massage they kept mentioning how I was late and I was unable to relax and enjoy my massage. She rubbed instead of massaged and massaged my bones instead of my muscles.. when I told her to go harder as I felt nothing, she said she is trying her best. Andd she was doing everything very quickly. My partners therapist was still working on her back when mine was finishing legs...She completely missed my hands and feet, and when I mentioned it, she rudely said she already did it.. i paid 220$ for a couples Swedish so no reason. The spa area is clean and service is typically provided on time or within 5 mins of entering the business, which you don't always find at some spas in this area!! I highly recommend Julianne for waxing and facials. Her expert skills and knowledge of so many health related issues are most impressive. If you need to relax, Rain Spa can provide you with an hour of soft meditative background music, with or without conversation...your choice! Laser treatments, spray tanning and massages are also available.
