Went for the “signature Japanese head spa - 90 min” and it was a wonderful experience! I learned so much about the importance of scalp care and my hair. I was looking for a totally relaxing spa experience that was a bit different, and this is it. For me, the best part of getting my hair done is the scalp massage, and this was 90 minutes of that. Amazing! Very thorough consultation, lots of good take home info, and I'm really happy with the products I bought to take home. The space is relaxing and quiet, smells devine, and is easy to find. The service and treatment experts were super friendly and professional, I felt welcome and relaxed. My scalp feels calmed and refreshed. Everything felt amazing. I loved it, wish I could do it every week.

This was truly an incredible experience and I could not recommend it more. If you're struggling with any issues related to your scalp or hair, you'll leave the head spa with a sense of confidence and comfort - not to mention a wonderful feeling scalp! Yes, there's tons of resources out there and with enough research, I can find the answer to what I'm looking for, right? That's what I thought, at least. But coming to Yoko’s Haute Coiffure showed me that I've been doing some things wrong with regards to the care of my scalp and my hair. There's truly nothing secondary to having a true professional such as Mika diagnose, treat, and recommend care that is personalized to what you need. If you have been struggling to find what works for you, this is the place to go. I only wish I came here sooner! Mika is a master of her craft and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience at the head spa.

I went for the 90 minute headspa and hair shaping with Mika and it was a delight. The studio space is bright and calm, and both Mika and Ella made me feel right at home. They both clearly put a lot of care and effort into the work. The scalp analysis was very educational, satisfyingly gross (you get to see your follicles and roots before and after, in all their glory), and eye opening, and the shaping consultation was nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. Mika is truly listening and designing options with your feedback in mind. The spa was very relaxing and my scalp feels pounds lighter. I’m also very happy with my cut and look forward to my next visit! If you’re looking for expert hair and scalp care along with some zen and renewal - I highly recommend this place :)

It was such an indulgence getting the Signature Japanese Head Spa scalp treatment. Although the focus was placed on renewing my scalp health and condition, the full body experience and relaxation is not to be ignored either. My scalp is oily with flakiness that comes and goes, and after watching videos of similar types of treatments on YouTube, I was elated to find out about Yoko's. Not only did I leave my head spa day with a refreshed scalp and elevated, bespoke haircut, I was imparted with precious knowledge about how to maintain my results and proper care for this important region of my body. Yoko's is the experience of a lifetime. As someone who's favourite part of a haircut is the head massage, their scalp treatment really appealed to me. I wasn't disappointed! From the initial greeting, all the way through the treatment, I was pampered like a queen. My favourite experience was being wrapped in a cozy blanket, with warming pads under my legs, while they did their magic to my scalp. VERY informative, wonderful staff, and an absolutely fantastic experience!! You have to try it if you're in Vancouver.

I tried the Signature Japanese Head Spa. It was an amazing experience. My scalp is happy now! Mika, the owner, was very detailed analyzing my scalp and proceeded customized therapy on my scalp accompanying arm, hand, leg massages. I learned a lot about my scalp types and what products I need to use. The shop is very clean and I felt safe going there during the current situation. My first time at the Yoko Salon was delightful! I was somewhat scared at first about anticipating, but Mika was excellent at clarifying the hair service. Mika made me feel welcomed and relaxed during my time at the salon. She is very enlightening with her research and knowledge about hair care products and preserving a healthy scalp. In addition, Mika took the duration to evaluate my scalp and made sure to cater to my hair care necessities and responded to all my questions and apprehensions with a scientific breakdown on hair conditions. I would also like to mention that Mika is just a divine-human being with such incredible energy to be around. The worst feeling is not feeling wanted in a particular space; Mika drove me to feel super relaxed and pleased to make the long drive to her salon. Also, Mika's assistant was sweet and kind and made sure to make me feel as comfortable as I could be! After I visited the salon, my scalp felt amazingly clean! I boasted to my family and friends how excellent the treatment was and how confident it made me think in my skin! I would rate this salon a 10-star rating if I could! I am not one to usually write reviews, but I wanted to take the time to recognize the hard work and passionate individuals in society, and Mika is one of them!

First time visiting Yoko's for the signature scalp treatment and it was a really fascinating and relaxing experience. Mika was very professional with a lot of great knowledge to share and she took her time to explain all the information for my scalp issues. It was great to see all the covid protocols were followed (very clean and beautiful inside) and by the end of the session, you could really feel the difference in how cleaner and lighter the head felt. The analysis was great and the scalp after was translucent and so much more clear it was incredible to see. I'd recommend the head spa to anyone who needs TLC on their scalp/hair and definitely planning to go back!

Going to Mika was the best decision I made for my scalp and hair. Before going to her, my hair was always so oily, even right after showering, and my scalp was so itchy that I found myself scratching my head throughout the day for relief. I went in for a head spa and shaping and I was awestruck at the experience. She showed me a close up of my scalp before and after the treatment, served great tea and snacks, gave me an incredibly relaxing head massage that I almost drifted off to sleep, and had a great haircut. She diagnoses your scalp condition and hair condition and uses products to address the problem. I went home with some of the products. She later emailed me a very thorough explanation about the products I bought. I’ve changed the way I wash my hair and I’m eagerly practicing what she has taught me. Mika is not only extremely knowledgeable, personable, and professional, but you can really feel that she is dedicated about healthy hair and scalp. My hair is no longer excessively oily, my scalp isn’t itchy, and my haircut is so lovely. The travel time is a bit long for me but I’m always thrilled to go because going to YOKO’S Haute Coiffure is truly an elevated experience!

I have just had the most beautiful experience of hair spa ever (« Hair Spa » is totally appropriate for the place btw) I had the 90 minute scalp treatment and it was an absolutely divine experience (tea, snacks and massage include !) The experience is a true gift to yourself and your scalp. For anyone who wants to get rid of irritation, scalp flakes or hair loss, and wants to revive hair growth I highly recommend it!

Visited to see if the scalp treatment offered could help with some pretty chronic head scratching I contend with. The treatment itself was very relaxing and through this, I got some excellent advice on caring for my scalp. I appreciated the follow up afterwards and I will say that a few days later, following the advice I received, my scalp feels more comfortable and my discomfort has decreased significantly. Time will tell how this lasts over the long term but overall, I was very pleased with the treatment and service I received. Will definitely try again to help maintain.

I have been to many hairstylists in my lifetime, in various countries, and I have never found a hairstylist as good as Mika. Not only did she really assess my face shape, my body shape, but she also considered my style, the amount of effort I was willing to put in for maintenance, and the look I was hoping for as well. I typically grow out my hair to donate and it is always lifeless, limp, heavy, and flat. I was so happy with the style and cut that Mika gave me. Even my Mom commented on Mika’s technique and how much she likes my new hairstyle. I would highly recommend a visit to Mika and leave yourself in her extremely capable hands. Ella was wonderful and attentive as well. I fell asleep when she washed my hair! She was always on top of sweeping as well to ensure that my 3 years worth of hair didn’t get into the tea or snacks that I was offered. Now, some people may find the services a bit pricey, but honestly, it was worth it for me to finally find a hairstylist who was able to give me a hairstyle that complimented my appearance. I am definitely not going to another stylist ever again!
