Came in today with my mother from Toronto who celebrated her birthday yesterday. She got a facial and I got a massage by Scott I believe was the gentleman's name. First off the spa itself has a very nice cozy and homey feeling that feels very pleasant and inviting. Everyone is also very nice and helpful and my massage in particular was a total 10 out of 10. Very relaxing. My mother said she was very happy with her facial too. Only little thing was that because of the fact that the spa is a bit smaller than your common spa the lockers are a bit small but again minor detail compared to all the good you get from this place. Will definitely be visiting this spa again
Beware that you change and put on a robe and wait with strangers for your massage. Well appointed. Massage was great. Professilnal, clean, relaxing. The reason for the three stars is that they have a "lounge" where you wait for your masseuse. They ask you to change in the small change room, put your things in the locker, out on a robe and come back out to wait for your masuese. If you like sitting massage ready in a robe with strangers than this is your place. Every other massage place I've been to allow you to change in the privacy of the treatment room! Final note the change room with lockers is a single change room. If someone is in there when you're done you're stuck waiting in the hallway or "lounge" in your robe until they are done! If that doesn't bother you then I'd rate it 5 stars.
Check in/out was smooth and painless. Services were good. Pool area is a huge plus as you have access to that when you book a spa service. Only downside is it is very small and crampy in the spa. And it feels a bit like it was an after thought to the hotel layout.
The best part here was the steam shower, it was very relaxing. Their facial was good too..
I read many mixed reviews of this place and while I don't want to invalidate anyone's feelings, I've actually never had such an amazing experience anywhere else. Maybe it was because of the pandemic, but I found everything very clean. It is not small at all. They let you change in the room. Best treatment is anything involving a steam shower!!! I got the aroma body polish. My skin was sooo soft and glowy afterwards. It's a very relaxing treatment and little touches like the body wrap and feet wrapped in hot towel make such a difference ! I also got a massage here which was also very nice. But if you had to choose only one treatment, I would go with any of the signature body treatments!!
I was hoping to get a relaxing full body massage, but I just could not relax. I thought hey, maybe it's not really that hard and it's in my head, maybe it'll feel good after. But today is the day after and I feel twinges of pain on the areas where I felt she pressed way too hard ie. under the shoulder blade, lower back side on to my kidneys. I didn't even have preexisting knots there. I've fallen asleep from other full body massages but this was just uncomfortable and now, unfortunately, I feel pain in places I didn't before :| This achy pain hopefully goes away in a few days... I gave 2 stars and not one because my fiance was satisfied with his, he had a different RMT. Sadly, I don't think I will be back.
Spa smells amazing and you feel refreshed as soon as you walk in. The duet massage was very worth it and we both felt relaxed and recharged afterwards. We drifted off to sleep multiple times during the massage. The staff were kind and genuine people. While there was a booking mishap, the staff did everything they could to rectify the situation, which to me definitely deserves five stars. Thank you Five Lakes Spa!
Last week I hooked massages for my family. My wife and 7 and 11 year old. I mentioned my kids kids on the phone and referred to my son as little guy. My kids are okay to get massages in our home town. 5 Lakes has a policy.... Nobody below 15 or 16 years of age. Just FYI. Unfortunately we found out about this upon arrival yesterday. Our kids stayed in the hotel lobby and chilled. The communal waiting room is a bit awkward but there is tea and water. I guess it could be an opportunity to be social if you are feeling that way. When we arrived at the waiting room or lounge there were 4 women fully clothed and all of the chairs were spoken for. They left after my jokingly asked them where their robes were. Just a suggestion to the 5 Lakes management.....the waiting area can be awkward. Especially if people aren't wearing underwear under their robes and people in attendance aren't feeling like hanging out with strangers. We came much too early and next time we might arrive just before massage time. Changing in the massage room could and should be an option. Okay. Onto the good stuff. The hotel is awesome. The spa is great. Smells amazing. Front end staff could be a bit more friendly and clear on some things but mostly professional. My therapist. Rileigh. Friendly. Professional. Rileigh had a great gauge on pressure and also on if I wanted to talk or not. I stayed silent for about the first 30 minutes then we chatted for the rest. Her technique was pleasantly flowing with no pauses. I was warm and comfortable the entire massage. I requested a longer concentration of time on my feet and she delivered. Conversation was pleasant with no awkward pauses or weird conversation like I've had with other therapists at other spas. I am giving this review a 5 out of 5. The 5 out 5 is for Rileigh. The spa gets a 4.4 out of 5. My kids really wanted a massage and it didn't happen because of this age policy. I looked online. I could not find. Doesn't mean it's not there. I just couldn't find it and it was not mentioned once on the phone whole booking massages for my KIDS. The first question Marissa asked was how old everybody is. Clearly my son who is 7 and 11 year daughter are not 15 or 16. It was awkward and didn't need to be. We are okay with change. One other thing. My benefits provider sets a limit for a one hour massage at 100 dollars. The menu does not mention that their prices DO NOT include TAXES. It should. If it does..... again..... I could not find it. All the places I've been to has the prices with the taxes included. We will be returning to the 5 Lakes Spa during our next visit to the Falls. Thank you 5 Lakes for working hard to be the best.
Service was bed and staff were rude..... Always not very polite and every staff thing they were doing a favor to customer to help them. Definitely not going back to stay in this hotel....
Everyone is so nice!!
My boyfriend and I recently went for a couples massage at Aveda for my birthday. Though we couldn't use the pool area thanks to COVID guidelines, we still really enjoyed our experience. The staff were all very friendly and the massage itself was wonderful - one of the best I've gotten in a while actually. We will definitely be coming back!
It was good to get back after so long due to Covid.
Husband and I very much enjoyed having a RMT get our knots out. Music and environment very serene. Staff very nice.
Amazing they treat you like royalty it so relaxed and clean the staff is amazing you will love it.
Pro: The spa smells amazing and they have pretty good products. Cons: 1. The water glasses and tea cups were dirty; I poured 3 different cups of water and there were white flakes floating in every one of them. 2. the staff could be a friendlier, especially considering you’re half naked and spending a nice amount of money. 3. My massage was not good. The massage therapist was all over the place; I felt like I was an experiment or practice customer.
The Five Lakes Spa Aveda at DoubleTree is amazing. I had a body treatment, I think it was the Aveda Rosemary Mint Body Wrap and a Customized facial. When you walk in you get a burst of refreshing scent. Relaxes all your senses. The staff are amazing. My esthetician was very nice and calm. She explained me the steps of both treatments before she got started. During the body treatment, She gave me a relaxing head massage while I had the body mask on. It also included a steam shower which was honestly the most relaxing thing ever. Then she did my facial and used products according to my skin type and concerns I had. She did an amazing job. The esthetician was nice enough to have the products we spoke about at reception when I went to pay. Needless to say, I was sold by the friendly manner the staff treated me and answered my countless questions. Would definitely recommend whoever visits DoubleTree at Niagara to check out Five lakes spa Aveda!
