I was completely unimpressed with how I was treated when I was unhappy with a service. I asked for a hard wax brow wax due to my skin being sensitive. The esthetician acknowledged my concern then told me I would be fine to use the soft wax as the previous place likely used too hot of wax. The same problem occured and when I asked for a refund as my concern was not taken seriously and went against my request they refused the refund.

I have had massages in almost every country in the world! Nothing beats this place! The oils, the hot towels, the music, the herbal tea, everything, but the thing that i will never find again, are Andrea White’s touch! She knows exactly how much pressure to put! Her hands are two, magical instruments and she’s so very conscientious! If I lived in St. John, I’d have massage every week, but alas, I don’t! Thank you Element 5 Thank you so much, Andrea!

I frequent Element5 on a yearly basis when I am in town for holidays. The last two years I've had the pleasure of having Samantha for a pedicure when I come in with my BFF for her birthday. This year upon leaving I booked her again for a manicure before leaving town and also brought my mom for a manicure. My mom had Heather who was also awesome. Samantha's attention to detail and professionalism is really great. I've been to a lot of spas in my day and this is one of my favorites! I'll be asking for Sam by name from now on :)

I'm from NYC and was stranded in Saint John after hurricane Sandy. As a treat to myself while in town, I got one of their express manicures and their caribbean pedicure. I had the manicure at noon and the pedicure at 4:15. While the services themselves were good, there were 2 things that went very wrong. 1. they overcharged me. i was charged twice for the manicure. i didn't realize this until i had already thrown out the receipt. 2. this salon does not offer disposable flip-flops and either you need to buy a pair of $27 flip flops or wear the shoes you came in. Since the salon was closing and I didn't want to purchase a pair of shoes i would wear once, I opted for the later...which meant my polish was ruined when i got to my hotel. I inquired to see if i could borrow some of the plastic shoes they give out to clients during their service with the promise that i would return them the next day. i was told no. To be fair, they offered to let me wait after hours and let the polish dry, but was told this too late as my shoes were already on. All in all, i was disappointed with how the salon handled my particular situation and wish they were more prepared to handle clients with unique situations. I also think they need to check their records better to ensure that clients with services performed at different times are not charged twice.

I have been for a variety of services from mani/pedi to make up application to prenatal massage and have had very good experiences. I once arrived for an appointment that couldn't happen at that time. It was a pain to find out once I was already uptown but the girls were very sweet about it and it was rebooked.

Have been here for waxes and massage before always been great, but then came for haircut. Always been picky with haircuts, not that I know anything about hair, but came to Adam and it’s the first time in years I’ve looked in the mirror and love what I see!! He took length off which was needed for damage and he styled it perfectly he knew how to work with thick crazy hair and it feels so good, looks great! Thank you Adam!!!

Was there for massage. It was another massage place, nothing over the top or extraordinary. Brian was nice and professional. However, I didn’t like the fact that the actual massage session was around 50 minutes. The rest 10 minutes was form fill up and getting to know each other.

I went here for the first time and overall, it was ok. It seems to need a bit of TLC with the facilities. Ambiance and music was nice. Somewhat cramped area for manicures and pedicures. I had a pedicure and the girl was nice and have a nice massage but I'm a little disappointed to get home and see that there's polish on my skin in several places and application of polish was very uneven. My toe nails were all filed there but they aren't very well shaped, not very symmetric. I hate to base an opinion of a place off one experience but I have been to better places in SJ so I doubt I'd go back here again.

I get my hair cut by Adam about every 5-6 weeks. He's the absolute best. He goes above and beyond every time and the Staff there are all fantastic. It's a great experience and well worth the trip.

I have been to this establishment a couple of times with mixed experiences. Generally the staff are very courteous. The building itself is also very nice for a relaxing atmosphere. That being said, here's the but. A couple of weeks before last Christmas, as a gift to my mother, I paid for the two of us to get pedicures together. I mentioned this at the time of booking but upon entering the pedi room (with three chairs), there was a lady sitting in the middle and my mom and I were to be placed on either side of her. I told the esthetician that we booked them together and we did not want to be talking over some poor woman trying to relax and disturb her. They could not accommodate us, for what we had originally booked, at any time that day. We could only get it done the next day, which meant my mom who drove 2.5hrs into the city for this appointment at 9am on a Saturday, had to suddenly find a place to stay that night. I believe the lady helping us that day offered us a tiny 5% discount or something with the promise that she would inform the owner/manager and have them get in touch with me to right the situation. I am still waiting for them to contact. I do still enjoy this spa. But that was one very poor experience which we never felt was made right on their end.

Hands down this is my favourite spa not only in Saint John, but in NB. The staff is always professional and they make sure my comfort and needs are met everytime I'm there. Great for groups (both the manicure and pedicure rooms can do up to 5 or 6 people at a time) and they have wine! I was part of a wedding party for manis and pedis and they girls were phenomenal - they even brought in the bride's favourtie champagne for us!!! Have tried a lot of their services and haven't had one yet that I didn't enjoy. Would highly recommend this spa to anyone and everyone.

I just had the most fantastic massage from Joshua Fry! I have normal wear and tear on my body from working as a hair stylist and Josh provided me with lots of knowledge on how to protect my body from too many more issues. He offered up a great massage based on what he saw I needed as well as addressing my known pain issues. I'm very glad he has joined the great RMT team at Element5!

I just thoroughly enjoyed my experience. This was probably the best experience I have had in my few visits to the spa. Highly recommend this girl, but alas I do not know her name. :(

The space and employees were nice and professional but my wax so horrific it really soured the entire experience. My hair is thick but the mess the technician left in my body, left a lot to be desired especially as not all of the hair was removed. Wouldn’t recommend as it seems to be all aesthetics

I went there to do lash lift. The place was very clean and the workers was really respectful to me and kind but the lady who did my lashes probably wasn’t very professional she didn’t do my lashes as I expected. I payed $97 for tended lash lift. And I thought my lashes will be more black and it will be lifted more but when she finished it didn’t look like it was even lifted. So I was trying to lift it with my fingers so it looks more lifted. I was really expecting it will turns out good but it didn’t turns out as I expected. And I don't think I will go back to do lashes in there.

Came from Halifax to visit my partner, and decided to treat myself to a colour service. Left with grey, patchy hair, with blue tinged hues to it. I had called the salon and was given an email to contact, the girl also instructed me to “go home and wash my hair”. Following a nearly $300 appointment, I should not have to go home and wash my hair. Awaiting a response from the business owner, however, completely devastated as I did not request nor consent to having my natural blonde hair be turned to grey/blue. As a working professional, I cannot even go to work for my shifts this weekend with this hair colour. I have now got to book in Halifax for a colour correction, at another salon, as element 5 had told me there is no way they could fit me in for a correction. I had my hair done by Anna, who wouldn’t even speak directly to me about the mess my hair is now in. Very upset as I had thought this salon would do a wonderful job. Hoping to have some sort of resolution once speaking to the business owner.

I booked a package with add ons for the spa, was told there was no included lunch as advertised due to Covid, no problem. I was asked if I wanted a break to leave and get food I told them no thank you I would like all services back to back and was quoted 5.5 hours. They selected the day and booked everything, they told me, according to my requests. I would have been happy with a different day if I knew it could not be accommodated. The girls in the spa seem very green and unsure, the manicurist was doing some of the techniques improperly, and then they told me I would have a 45 minute wait for the last appointment in my package. I was called two days prior to confirm my arrival and that I would be 5.5 hours. This delay would have caused me to not even get into my final appointment until over 6 hours after I arrived. I expressed my discontent and they offered to not charge me for the service I didn’t receive… how kind… check out took forever, literally almost 15 mini waiting for the girl to figure the computer out so I could pay. Will not be returning do not recommend.

My son got his very first haircut here, we are from Ottawa and I saw the reviews saying how good it is. It was not the best experience. I paid $30 for just a quick razor cut. No product, no hair washing, it surprised me because I saw there website and a men's cut and wash is $22. I was not pleased. As for the hair cut... he moved a little yes but I kept him focused as he was playing his game on the iPad. The overall experience was not as good as it could have been for being a " good salon". ???????? I thought it was suppose to be $20? And there was no "certificate" for being his first haircut.
