This Spa is classified in the category of Spa.
Pricey but enjoyed it, not the Disney Land of the spa world that one might expect. 2 hot stations (dry sauna, steam room) and 2 cold ones ( cold bath, cold shower).
We went here for the first time and we were not impressed whatsoever. This is a very small spa venue with only 1 large hot tub and 1 tiny cold that only fits 2 people and it was out of order? The spa registration staff wouldn't accept our gift cards on the baths saying they can't be used when you book online, yet this is the only way to reserve your spot?? This place wasn't worth $150 +tax for 2 adults and we won't waste our money going here again. This place is no comparison to the Nordik spa in Chelsea Quebec.
Had a great experience. Booked the spa for a bachelorette party. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. My massage was great! We had a great experience and they even gave the bride-to-be a small gift for booking their location for her bachelorette!
Best experience for a relaxing experience and amazing massage. This is one of our go to spots for massages. 10/10 would recommend
A retreat in the middle of Old Port! Definite must after a full day of shopping and exploring. Not huge in terms of space but laid out very well so you can easily find a cozy spot to yourself to relax and unwind.
We went for a ladies relaxing time and had a good time. Spa is really clean and have a nice big heated pool with jets. Steam room and sauna very nice. Relaxing area also very nice. Just did not like it that we were not alloys to talk anywhere. A bit of a downside.
Amazing service, facility, and atmosphere. Took an hour nap after the whole thing on their comfy beds.
Well situated. Warm welcomes from staff. Nice showers. Valet parking that was 25$ for 2 hours (my mistake). Too crowded on Saturdays. Not enough space to relax, and the facilities are just not that big that you can alternate activities and relax. You always feel a but cramped everything is too close to each other and there’s only one hot bath. It feels like a hotel spa that’s crowded, not a retreat, like some other spas out there!
I would visite again. Great place to relax and thank you Stephane Ostiguy you really healed me You should get a raise
Way too expensive for what it offers.I have only been to exterior spa, this is only interior ????. Also the change rooms can't accommodate all clothes so must leave coat and boots outside. Only 1 of each warm water pool, dry sauna, wet sauna. This is the first time I get bored out of my mind at spa...Had to stay late due to massages. Massages were super good however...so mixed feelings about this one. Le Finlandais or Polar Bear are better value for money however.
Great place but despite the staff's uniforms and posters saying to be silent, this is rarely enforced. Makes relaxing very difficult EDIT: Response to owner Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, there are no actions suggested in it. My partner goes to your spa at least once per month and every single time comes home, she looks disappointed at not being able to relax in a place that is meant to be exactly that. People speak at regular volume in a space that has multiple "be quiet please" images. It is very misleading to offer one thing and not enforce it. I would love to keep going but if this can't be guaranteed or even attempted at such, it is simply not worth it.
The facilities are really good, and very well kept. Everything was clean and organized. The staff is friendly, helpful and bilingual. The steam room with eucalyptus scent is my favourite. One of the saunas has a great view. The massage was really great and relaxing. We spent close to 6 hours at the spa and by the team we left we were floating. Amazing experience will definitely come back.
Took the thermal Baths experience. Very nice and tidy. The hot rooms are very well maintained and sparkly clean. Good layout to go around.
Small but clean and relaxing spa. Would recommend! A lot of comfy place to doze off.
My first experience in a city Spa. Great installations. The message was very good. I still prefer spa in the nature
Great place to unwind yourself! It was my first time at Scandinave spa for the massage; Swedish relaxation massage was heaven!! The baths were included with the massage. Just needed to take your own bathing suit with you, rest is taken care of, like sandal, robe, shower products, moisturizers, tea, light snacks... truly enjoyed! Will be coming back for sure! Better to get there before 10am to experience the best, it’s less crowded
Make sure you're quiet when you're at this spa. The cold rainfall shower is perfect a dip in the steamy jacuzzi. Massages from professionals who will take care of those achey muscles. Stay for awhile in the many places to relax. Love it here.
Would like it if they had an area of the Spa where conversations were allowed, maybe like the pools because everyone loves talking and socializing in pools,;people go in pairs, they are with their friends so we want to chat, so long as it's hushed conversations I don't see why not. There can be an area for people who want silence and an area for the people to go to when they want to chatter, it would appease everyone. Other then that, the spa was lovely, the massage was nice, reception was very friendly, and locker rooms were super clean. Will for sure go back, I think I even like it better then Bota Bota
I love this spa. It's very relaxing and the establishment is extremely accommodating.
One of the most expensive massages I ever had. 120 minutes, and worth every penny. Super nice staff, great massage therapists and pretty nice baths. Get there early though, it is smallish, and get crowded later in the day.
So relaxing, well maintained, properly managed! Apples and tea freely available!
Very calming environment and friendly staff. Love being able to disconnect even in the middle of the city.
Excellent experience to relax at the Old Port. The facilities are impeccable, providing you everything you need to relax. The little details they provide like the free smoothies and the fruits and drinks are wonderful and are a great touch to the stay. Definitely coming again!
Bummed out by my first and unfortunately last visit to scandinave spa Montréal. The bar was set high by scandinave tremblant and considering the price and proximity to bota bota it didn't deliver. The one and only hot pool was a good temp and had a solid waterfall but the jets had negligible pressure. The dry sauna was almost void of heat and the rest area was brightly lit for what I've come to expect at a spa. Credit must go to their steam room which was top notch and had excellent delivery of steam. I'm just disappointed.
I think they should cap how many people are allowed in sooner... seemed much to crowded to enjoy myself. Also....BE QUIET. so many obnoxious people.
Very quiet & relaxing full amenity spa. Only thing missing was a swimsuit dryer.
Edit: I've been to other places and now I can tell that the spa in the old Port is way better and is a high quality place. Also their products aren't tested on animals and that's awesome. relaxing, the place is very small so they don't take a lot of people (Saturday are tough days to go for the bath)
Small space, specially when there is a big crowd but very nice environment. It's a good option if you want to relax without living the city. Excellent service with a clean bathrooms and showers. Another thing to take into consideration the access to the baths are for a period of 3h Wich kind of makes you keep on checking the time, which is not fun cuz you want to relax. Overall I loved my experience and will go back anytime.
Has some of the best massage therapists I have ever been to. Costly, but definitely worth it!
Best spa in Montreal! They don't have a "view" but they offer so many small things (apples, herbal tea, etc.) that make this experience so nice! They also have a lot of people working there so the place is always clean. Love it!
I travelled to Montreal for some self care and self healing. Going to Scandinave spa was not on my to do list but I ended up spending the whole day there! It was relaxing and peaceful with great harmonious energy inside. If you are visiting Montreal and would like a self love treat you need to go to this spa.
my favorite in the greater Montreal. As it is an indoor spa, people respect the no talking rule. Great amenities included such as tea, towels and hand cream
We are traveling from the States on a long weekend - this was amazing. Can’t wait to come back again. Massage and spa were both wonderful
Excellent urban spa in Old Montreal. Nice staff, great experience. Can’t wait to return
Amazing! Well worth it! My first time to this kind of spa and I would definitely do it again. Highly recommended.
Silence is Golden. Not only are the facilities great, the total silence policy is what really makes this place. A great little haven of relaxation in the city.
Very relaxing. Not the best massage I have ever had, but still good.
Upon visiting other Scandinave locations, the Montreal location is by far the best! Comes with many small extras that are incredibly appreciated. The facility is beautiful and very clean. Love it here and definitely will visit again!
I love this place I go as often as I can. They have a "No cell phones No talking" policy which I think is great. You're not bothered by any stimuli, and can fully relax. The staff is nice and will explain to you how everything work. The whole setting is pretty simple, unpretentious and really cozy. You'll get to experience of the real Scandinavian hygge!
One of the most relaxing and amazing experiences in a spa that I've ever had. We started off with massages and then spent the rest of the day relaxing. When you get tired of the sauna, eucalyptus steam room, hot pool, cold pool, comfy bean bags, and complimentary smoothies then you can go and take a nap in the dark room and start all over again. It was so great that we made time to go a second time on our vacation. I wish there was a place like this closer to home.
Had Diana as my massage therapist. She was excellent. Very informative and knowledgeable. I appreciated her insight The spa itself is very dark. It's loud by the water area due to the waterfall. There is a quiet area that's further away inside it's own room. There's no food aside from apples. Sometimes they bring out smoothies which are very good, but I have no idea when. I happened to catch it one time, though I saw the empty glasses before. They are popular and go fast. When I went I forgot to bring a bathing suit. They sell some nice ones there, but be prepared to spend $100+ for your forgetfulness. You can try them before you buy. Couldn't really take photos inside the spa. There's are some very picturesque spots that would have made lovely memories. The price point is fine. For example Banff springs might have a nicer set up but you'd be paying much more to get in. I'm from Winnipeg, and thermea is nicer (more areas and more to do, outdoor plus indoor, etc), but it's further from the city center. I haven't been to other spas in Montreal however to do a good comparison. I do plan to go again before my trip is done.
Wonderful, relaxing experience. Leave your baggage at the door, scrub your soul clean with the fresh smell of eucalyptus.
I stopped in for a massage and to try the baths. I should say first that the service from all staff was excellent. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, perfectly bilingual, and seemed genuinely concerned that I was having a good time at the spa. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience wasn’t as good. The bath (singular) was not hot enough, and really was more of a hot tub than a bath. It smelled strongly of chlorine. There was a cold pool but it felt like it was only 1 degree above freezing - at other places I’ve had cold baths that were around 27 Celsius, and it’s much more pleasant. Needless to say, there was no one using the cold bath or shower. The sauna was ok. There was a weird eucalyptus steam room that looked a bit tired and old. On the whole, it was fine. Maybe I’ve been to too many Japanese onsen to enjoy a “Scandinavian” spa (is it really Scandinavian if we’re made to wear bathing suits?) but the whole experience was pretty bland for the price. The website made it out to be far more luxe than it really was. I didn’t enjoy the lounge area - everything was wet. It seemed like they had a lot of ideas for the place but not enough room to execute them... Next time I’ll look for a less flashy Asian sauna with separate areas for men and women.
Had a relaxing time and overall great experience. However, the facilities are not as clean as you would expect them to be.
One of my faves. Great facilities/staff & excellent massages & water circuits. This "silent spa" will truly help you relax.
Great experience! The staff is nice and gives you information. Towels, bathrobes, sandals and other things are furnished, so you don't need to stress about forgetting something at home. I loved the lockers, the keys (which are bracelets) are perfectly design to wear on you at all times and not stress about losing it! The baths are worth it and the massages were amazing. I would recommend, everyone deserves a moment to relax and take care of themselves!
A beautiful, relaxing space. Quality amenities. Attentive staff.
Super spa. It is clean and very relaxing. It is often too crowded
Came here with my wife. It was pretty small but overall we enjoyed our stay there. I don't think we would go back but would still recommend people.
My friend booked 2 places online. Once arrived, they said everything is paid even if we wanted to pay separately. My friend wanted also to use her gift card (amount 31$). After a while, the receptionnist cancelled the 2 reservations and made us pay 118.45 (plus the 31$ on the gift card). At the end of the stay (3 hours later) when we was returning the key they said we have to pay 23$ more because the online reservation which was cancelled costed less so because it s cancelled we have to pay an extra something like that. Otherwise, spa is horrible, Very small, only one small steam and one dry spa. One hot pool and one small (one persone) cold pool. Nothing else. No even a restaurant on place to buy water since the Tea pot was aways empty (18:00 -21:00 was our stay). I went previously at other spas it costs less and you have a much better experience. Will never come back and I do not reccommend the place .
it's ok, we found the overall experience a little wired rather than enjoyable or relaxing.
we went early in the morning when there was hardly anyone there. I suggest you do that. The place is large with a waterfall of warm water, very nice masseuses, steam room, sauna, and great places to just lounge around. Clean too!! This is a great way to de-stress. If you stay at one of the hotels you may it a discount.
Super belle place !! Ambience zen et relax. The staff are awesome, super good customer service !! Definitely gonna go back to this place !!
Great, relaxing spa for a good price. If you go after a certain time, you can stay the whole day for a relatively small price. Will definitely be going back!
We go to this spa because it is quiet and no speaking allowed. The staff is very comprehensive on this and have taken action immediately the one time I went to complain about some people talking in the resting area. Also, great amenities included, so we almost don't need to bring anything, even thought the price comes with it. I do think it's a bit pricy, but worth it for us
It is an ok spa. I went for the early bird with three other friends. So...I got a Swedish massage what I did not enjoy that much... I found the massage too strong specially for someone who explained that just had a recent healthy problem. Anyway...maybe Swedish massage is not for me. My friends did enjoyed their massages. The bath definitely is something that I would suggest. They have an eucalyptus sauna that is just refreshing. ..baths cold/hot very relaxing and an area for resting, reading that I enjoyed a lot. Unfortunately one of my friends had a problem in one of the saunas and she left the spa with marks on hers knees. We reported in the reception and she apologized but she did not show being worried at any moment... not even offer a doctor or any specialist to look at her's knees. Not professional. Over-all I would recommend the baths...but definitely I have been in others spa that are much better and classy.
Spa is really clean and staff is kind and thoughtful. Also one of the rare spas in montreal where people are respectful of each other and don’t speak too loud. Really loved my experience and the massage therapists are excellent
Great place. Very clean and comfy. Employees are nice and accomendating. Only downside is that since it's a small place, sometimes there is a lot of people and you might also have to wait to use the showers.
Massage was okay. The spa feels like a cave, dark, and on the small side but very relaxing. I really love the robe and all the extras like organic natural shampoo, conditioner, body wash in the shower and lotion for face, body and feet. Plus hair dryers, hair straighteners, hair ties, pins, Qtips and tissues. Also there’s free herbal teas, flavoured water, and apples. I also like the nap area options: an open area and a closed private area.
I reserved for a deep tissue massage. It's excellent. If like me you suffer from bad posture from working at home, do this. The masseuse will also give you tips on how to alleviate pain. Clean and super nice staff beside the silence police (lol - who doesn't squeal when dipping in the cold tub?). The spa is very small but when it's not crowded, it's just enough! If you want a bath experience only, maybe try a different location...
Whenever I’m feeling like I need to chill out and disconnect from the world, Scandinavian is my ultimate go-to. I love that this location is right in town so I can take the metro there and back and remain on my relaxed bubble cloud! Unlike quite a few of the other similar spas, Scandinave is very adamant about the no-talking/typing rule - which I LOVE. Yes it is hard to get used to at first, but once you get into “the zone” is amazing. I love their outdoor locations like in Whistler but it’s pretty awesome having this right in town. The RMT massages I’ve had there have been fantastic. And I love that sandals are included - it’s cleaner than having people use their own sandals, and less to carry! The low lighting is so soothing and relaxing. And they have wonderful products to use in the bathroom after you’re finished. They also tend to have some good weekly or nightly deals so be sure to check out what’s available!
Considering that you pay around 50$ more than a regular massage and you get to enjoy baths, saunas and relaxing spaces, it’s worth it. I think it can be a tiny bit cleaner, maintained better. Overall, it’s very nice
Quiet please!!!! This place was a beautiful oasis away from the craziness of downtown. I am staying in Ottawa for work and decided to make a drive to Montreal. I had an amazing spa day. Hany was an amazing masseuse and it was super relaxing. The only part that was unenjoyable were the visitors. There are many signs and instructions to BE QUIET! And also no phones allowed. But there were at least 3 seperate groups of people who were chatting and one person even took a photo!!! I was appalled at the behaviour. However. If I was a local, I would be a regular. Beautiful spa. Amazing staff. 10/10!!
Scandinave was, in my mind the best spa in montreal. I go to Spas on average twice a year. For the last two years i've been trying out other spas. Decided to come back to Scandinave. Was truly dissapointed in the changes that took place here. Tried to make an appointment for my visit...they no longer take appointments. I show up with my partner, the lobby is packed. The person at the desk tells us the Spa is full and has been since 10AM....funny they could not have mentioned this on the phone when i called at 11am. We come back a week later, midweek in the afternoon. Scandinave has apparently increased the no# of people they allow in the Spa than in previous visits. The place was packed! Had to wait to use the sauna, it was full. More people allowed in at one time also makes it much harder to keep the bacteria in the pool at a safe levels. Of course more people is going to mean more talking, so now they have a watchdog, someone who goes around tapping folks on the shoulder and putting his finger up to his mouth in the pursuit of quiet. I witnessed this employee stand around a corner peering at a couple talking and approached them, and hastily enforced his rules, as if he's sniping people who talk. Even whispering into my partners ears, i received a "SHHH" from the watchdog on two occasions. Even with a sharp increase in people it's still one of the quieter spas in montreal, but seeing how silence is a heavily enforce infraction, they could decrease the number of folks allowed in the spa at once (like it used to be) and then they would eliminate the need for their watchdog. The most ironic part....most of the audible chatter in the Spa comes from the massage therapists and their appointments that are located right next to the rest area, but their watchdog allows that chatter, but none else. Needless to say, my last visit was far less relaxing that previous visits.
The most beautiful spa I have ever been to. The photos on the website don't do it justice. I was literally awestruck. Great massage, delicious salad in the bistro.... Unforgettable experience!
Kamille (masseuse) was great! Ambiance is calm and soothing. The products in the changing rooms are great and of quality. Although they didn't have brushes or makeup remover... Will definitely go back!
Super relaxing service clean facility and friendly staff highly reccomend
Quick access and clean facilities. Service can be improved. They promote on their website they offer smoothies and fruits to guests. The fruits consisted of apples. The smoothies are small glasses put on a table every 2 hours. If you miss the window for the smoothies reception doesn't care. Doesn't even try to fix a situation. Gonna go to the regular place on the boat across the street for some better service.
My favourite spa in Montreal.
It's very small but the service is very good. I personally think it's not worth to pay that price for such a small location
Had an amazing experience coming here with my husband. The massages were great and the environment is very relaxing. The staff were also very nice and friendly. I recommend this place.
Lovely spa, located right in the heart of Old Montreal near the waterfront. The dark and quiet atmosphere make for a relaxing and soothing experience. You'll forget that you're in a bustling city. You get a comfy robe and a locker. They have relaxation beds and chairs, tea and apples, hot and cold circuit, a sauna and steam room. Clean and friendly, I always enjoy going. Staff is friendly.
This place is small, strong recommendation that you make a reservation to confirm that you will make it in. Very clean place and it nice. This one is on the expensive side compared to other bigger ones this is the reason for the 3 stars
Amazing. Well worth the price and will return again. Had a couples massage and use of the water and spa rooms. So relaxing.
Great experience. The staff was nice, the decor was beautiful, I left there feeling good. Go early in the morning if you don't like when it's too busy.
Excellent. COVID protocols are strictly followed, mandatory mask and hand washing upon entry. Shower before and after massage. I have a physical job and I received a deep tissue massage from Lise. She provides a comforting and calming massage. My back has never felt better. And thank you to Eve at the front desk for her professional and welcoming phone call and front desk service. Management should be proud of their staff. Absolutely no complaints!
The massage was nice but when we were left to get ready, I discovered broccoli on my massage table. Very strange experience there. Otherwise, I enjoyed the massage experience, although it was certainly overpriced (which is understandable considering the location of the spa). I find the facilities a bit too small for the amount of people they let in on a Saturday at peak hours-- not necessarily conducive to relaxation.
This is one of my favorite places for r&r in the city. The place is welcoming, quiet, clean, professional. They have great massage therapist. I highly recommend it for the thalasso therapy and massages. Do yourself a favor and visit.
Extremely relaxing atmosphere. Some of the fixtures seemed a bit dated, but overall a great experience.
We've been to other Scandinave locations before. This one met our expectations and I had a great massage. The walk there was also beautiful!
Good, nice atmosphere, was hoping for a little more variety though
I’ve been to plenty of spas, and this is by far the worst one yet. I would NOT recommend if your 3+ people going. We had a worker tell us to be quite even though we were wispering... This place made me feel as if I was in a detention centre. Also, my boyfriend had to wait for a locker room... Other than that, this place does seem clean, but it’s small! As for parking, if your lucky you can find parking in old port, if not you’d have to pay for your parking.
The staff are lovely, and very helpful. The baths are wonderful, especially when you follow the hot-cold-rest system they recommend. My husband and I like doing the hot tub first, followed by the steam room and then the dry sauna. Very relaxing!
I love this place! Silent, clean, well decorated and has tea and fruits in case you need between the baths and sauna cycles. Do yourself some good and come here:)
Nice place - "Snacks available around the floor" was a little over selling it. There was a bowl of apples.
Although it brings me great dismay to only provide three stars after the wonderful experience I had with my massage therapist, I was quite dissatisfied with the way a (likely rare) situation was handled. My boyfriend and I called all the spas in Old Montreal to figure out which one would suit our needs best. We decided on this spa specifically because of the thermal baths; a massage includes 3 hours of access to the baths, and we were excited to use the spa facilities before our 8PM appointment. While getting ready to head over the spa called us - at 6:30PM - informing us that the baths were not in working order. When we arrived at 7:45 for our massages, the baths were working perfectly again - but we had no time to use them because we had our massages (the spa closes at 9). After our massages, we asked if we could use the baths in the morning, since we had no opportunity to do so given the situation. The front desk attendant disappeared for a couple of minutes, and then came back to say we could book it, but that they wouldn't be able to offer any sort of discount. Given the caliber of facility and its reputation, this was really surprising and disappointing. When my boyfriend politely tried to point out that we booked the massages there because of the baths, and only wanted to actually use the services we'd already paid for, the desk clerk refused and said that we had "gotten what we paid for." We had only received massages, so this was not accurate. The receptionist was quite rude to my boyfriend, who wasn't interested in causing a scene, and we left. Despite the negative encounter with the receptionist, this spa facilities and massage were wonderful. Before walking into the massage room, I was able to at least look at the baths. They were lovely and had great ambiance. My massage therapist was Hany, and I would highly recommend him. He is a highly skilled massage therapist, and I would place him in the 99th percentile of all massage therapists I have ever encountered. Given the other positive reviews, my negative experience doesn't seem to be the norm, but the unwillingness of the staff on hand to make such a simple thing right left a sour taste in our mouths.
Great place for a massage and to soak your tired old bones after a long day's work. All the massage therapists I've been with are quite skilled and are registered professionals. So if you need an insurance receipt your massage therapist will kindly provide it when you fill out your form before your massage requesting it.They provide sandals, a bathrobe and 2 towels as well as a locker. If you wish to use the Nordic baths make sure to bring a swim suit since it's required. I recommend sitting under the waterfall in the thermal water bath it helps alleviate a lot of tension in the shoulders. Also please respect the code of silence since it was designed as a quiet relaxation zone for guests. So if you go with a friend be aware of this code of silence out of respect for others.
Intimate, spa in the old port. Amazing relaxing situation with top notch RMT massaags available. Just warm and fuzzy any which wat you look at it. Highly recommended!
This is my favorite spa in the city. The smell of eucalyptus starts the hit you around the corner. They have thought of everything, you get a bracelet that locks your locker which is waterproof, you get 2 towels and a robe. Massages have always been great. The hot tub has a great waterfall- it was not running the last time i was there though. The cold bath is my favorite part, i recommend it over the cold shower. There is a sauna and a eucalyptus steam bath. Lounge bean bags with blankets and pillows. And a quiet room in the back. Its so calm and no one talks. I always get a good nap in. The tea is so good, there are always snacks like apples. They brought around little smoothies last time. I prefer this over bota bota because being inside seems to put me into deep relaxation. The change room also have everything you need- blow dryer, straightener, tampons, haur ties, hair spray...everything!
Cozy spa in the heart of the Old Port. Friendly staff and extended opening hours. A great spot to escape to for a bit of relaxation in the city.
This place has a no-cellphone and golden silence policy that makes the whole experience so relaxing and soothing for the mind. Besides the hot + cold pool, the steam and dry sauna, they offer a lounge and stress free area for naps. They have all the amenities like bath robes, sandals, shampoo, soap, showers and locker room to be expected. it’s location dans le Vieux Montréal is very convenient for walk ins. You walk away feeling lighter and fresh inside and out. It’s really worth it.
Amazing experience! I only did the baths and it was so relaxing
Absolutely Fantastic. Hands down the best spa experience I have had yet
I have been to 3 water circuit spas before, this was my first only indoor one, and now I know it was not worth it just for the circuits. Book a massage and the circuits are much cheaper. I only spent about an hour here because there is only one hot pool, a very small "slightly cold" pool and "slightly cold" shower, one dry and one hot sauna. I would have appreciated some visual stimulation (as the ones outside present me with trees, sky, scenery etc. While this one just has walls and frosted windows.) staff was friendly :)
Very relaxing. Plan to spend 2 hours. And it's a place that demands silence. It's a great break from life
I love Scandinave Soa in the Old Port. They are simple yet sleek in decor and amenities. I go here instead of Bota Bota when I’m looking for complete silence and full relaxation. I’ve fallen asleep quite a few times in their lounging area because it’s so comfy and quiet.
Great place to relax. It isn't like Bota Bota. Here, you actually are not allowed to talk so keep that in mind if you bring a date or friends.
My favorite place for refresh and relax????????♀️ Its small but very peaceful, quiet place and the massage is so good????????
Fabulous time but felt locked in expected more. Massage was heavenly. Ways is no longer accept at that location. Well situated, take advantage of valet parking when you book
Wow!! We had the BEST experience here! My massage therapist was Annabelle and she worked miracles on my knots!!!The baths were clean and literally everyone was amazing Will definitely be back!!
I went about a year ago and it was wonderful. The service was great, my massage was exactly an hour long. The changing rooms were spacious. I loved the jacuzzi, lots of room. The steam bath was great. The sauna was maybe a bit too hot for my liking, but hey, it's a sauna. What I didn't like is that for drinks or food it was quite pricey. I would recommend this.
This is a beautiful and relaxing place, the ambiance was great, very peaceful. The massage was delightful and Yves was actually very professional, but still was friendly. In addition, he was quite experienced. I enjoyed it very much and I am definitely going back. I am strongly recommending this place.
Very peaceful quiet place in the midst of the old port!:) Great installations & good service.
Good massage, excellent atmosphere. My only criticism is the front desk staff. They could be a little less brusque.
I can spend here all day long. Besides the great relaxing spa you have the healthy snacks and drinks for a nice detox. The resting area is cozy. Try to go when it's less crowded.
It's just the reservation experience I'm writing about, it was so professional and efficient. Looking forward to the rest. Ok, it's really old and old style and not nice inside!!! It really needs renovation... Edit review of Oct 30, 2019: I just got the worst massage ever!! Her hands were like blades , it was awful, really horrible, I just wanted it to be finished. She started 3 months ago she said, I wish you could find some more professional, but I understand the lack of workforce as well!! They did nice renovation, it's all clean and the spaces are well separated.
Pretty nice spa, but it was small and only had one pool. It can be boring if you’re not going for a massage.
Lovely environment located in old Montreal. Enjoyed the time spent there. Very relaxing. Bathrooms were clean. Steam baths: didn't see any staff throw water to clean people's sweat in the 90 minutes we were there. Massage therapists are uneven, but I'd go again.
Had a great massage, will defo be going back. The spa is clean with a chilled atmosphere, perfect way to relax on a rainy day.
Quiet place and easy to fall in "relaxation mode". Simple clean and nice spa. Very efficient and nice staff. Have only to bring your swimsuit, everything else is provided.
One of my favourite spa experience of lifetime. Very professional staff and beautiful environment inside the spa. Highly recommend.
Beautiful establishment, amazing masseuses or masseurs! Great place to go to unwind and really, really relax either alone, or with a loved one.
Good massage, but the thermal experience is a small area compared to other places. Also not that many showers for the amount of people they let in.
Usually have a great experience, our only complaint is that my partner's massage therapist, Jade, was slightly inappropriate in her comments about his tattoos. Other than that, the place is clean, service is good, and overall experience is positive.
I rewrite my review after 1 more year. I visit many spas, receive many massages and services.. (I HATED botabota personally.. ) I must tell Sacndinav hand pick their massage therapists very carefully. The quality of massage is EXCELLENT each time I visit. I personally like nordic spa rather than urban but this spa has quite a high standard, luxurious, classy people comes to enjoy... much more pleasant than show off type of spa like botabota (sorry but I really don't like this spa). I give now 5 stars! ----------------------- (this is my old review ;)) Hmm... I personally like to have natural light when i visit Spa but with Scandinave, I was satisfied with quality of service and GOOD massage! (Massage is so important to me) Over all, facility has no exaggerating but what you see on their site is really what you get: Beautiful spa. When i visit, it was quite but some times busy and noisy with more crowed, i guess it is normal. I give 4 stars just because I wish there was natural lights. ;))
Probably the most luxurious thing I have done for myself in my life. Just a totally relaxing experience from start to finish, and it's clear how much attention is paid to small details, from the different temp beverages available as you walk through the spa, to spare bobby pins in the bathroom. Can I give this a 10/5? I'll be here every time.
Was my birthday gift from my sister, she and I went together...Loved it!!! Definitely going back and next time, I'll try their massages!
Love bracelets to open lockers . Much better then keys . Very relaxing . Very nice spa .
Paradise inside the old port montreal. Perfect place to quiet down your mind and relax your body. Must visit! Weekdays are better than weekends and it's cheaper too.
I come here Everytime I'm in town. Best deals are in the early morning, buy it's definitely more pleasant to go in the afternoon
Absolutely wonderful I've never felt so relaxed. It's also wonderful that they encourage a complete disconnect from electronics so that you can be completely immersed in the experience.
Five stars for relaxation, the cleanliness, and the modern indoor design. Two stars for the overpriced entry and the massage sessions, the pricing makes no sense. I would rather pay 60$ for a spa such as Polar Bear Club cause it's vast and offers an incredible outdoor experience. Oh and the massages there starts from 70$, not 120$... if you’re going with a car expect a 20$ fee for the valet ????♂️ Two stars for the annoying staff inside the spa. They were treating my girlfriend and me like kids and trying to silence us while we were whispering. It was our first time there, and we were trying to figure out how things work inside cause well they did a good job explaining to us before we went inside... And most of the staff were patrolling like security guards while people were trying to relax in the baths(which are extremely small) and saunas.. it would’ve been nice not to be watched and observed by the staff like kids in a kindergarten, that was a turn off really, and literally killed the vibe... so yeah... premium price for weird staff and annoying service. Nope ????
Great downtown spa! Great experience! Only downside, it's all indoors. We still had a great time! Highly recommend!
Amazing experience. The massage was heavenly. If you want an awesome experience by a massage therapist who has magic in her hands, then try Sumaya. Words can't describe how fabulous she is. The jacuzzi is beautiful and the waterfall helps you relax. The sauna and steam bath were very nice. I loved the couches and comfortable options in the resting area, it felt wonderful.
The best part for us was the relaxation room with the beds! It was so peaceful.
It's good but you really should have muzzles or gags for certain people that go in that Spa. They just can't help to keep their mouths shut.
My go to spa. It's quiet and calm and they give you tea. I've never had a masseuse I didn't like and over the years I've had a few.
Incredibly relaxing! Great place to go with a SO. Would recommend one of the morning packages that are cheaper. Consider bringing a book as it's a great place to lounge and read.
I really like this spa. Their treatments are the best in the city
Love this inside spa, staff is super friendly and profesional. I like that sandals, bath robe and towels are included. Massages therapists are excellent
This has to be my favourite full spa experience in Montreal. The staff is excellent, kind and skilled. They truly make you feel like your well-being and serenity is their main priority. The prices are very fair for the amenities and services provided. When you get a spa treatment, a 3-hour bath circuit is included, and I greatly enjoy that. It's the perfect place for some alone-time and/or for a two-person experience!
Best 3 hours ever. The worst part of a massage is having to put on your clothes after and go outside. But here, you get to go continue relaxing in the water cycle and in their incredible lounge area. We'd love to come back.
Nice spa in the city, but they aim for the experience to be *totally* silent and have staff that walk around in polo shirts emblazoned with the word 'SILENCE' who will get in your face, stare you down, and SHHHHH as loud as they can... the key is to stare them back down real hard until they break and utter some words like 'do you speak english' or 'silence' but keep starting at them silently - you've won the game!
An amazing place to get away for a few hours and relax. The incredibly clean and inviting coed bath space and saunas are a perfect place to unwind. The silence makes it easy let your tension melt away. Book a massage before you go or if you decide that is just what is needed to complete your afternoon, they have a board in the spa room to let you know of any last min available appointments. Reasonably priced with great specials during off peak hours, I could not recommend this place enough.
Great place to relax. The spa is quiet and has a nice water circuit of hot pool, steam room, dry sauna, and cold plunge. There are several places to lounge and sleep as well.
A wonderful getaway, especially in winter. Staff are kind and professional, prices are reasonable, and the facilities are well maintained.
My friend and I were made to feel like children. We were approached by a staff member who asked us to get out of the hot bath to speak with us, after which he told us we were given 'multiple warnings' by his colleagues for talking. We had in fact been given one single warning, after which we ceased talking and only spoke in the locker room. When we explained this to this staff member, he apologized for disrupting us. However, when we were leaving the spa, this staff member was incredibly rude and treated us very poorly after we had just spent our money at the spa. We are two adults and did not appreciate being made to feel like children under constant supervision. We also did not appreciate being spoken to in such a rude manner upon leaving the spa. It was not a relaxing experience and I will definitely not be recommending this spa to anyone.
Absolutely excellent. Tranquil. I recommend going even just for the sauna.
The location of this spa is really practical! In the heart of the city, easily accessible by métro, and close to the real water... It is a great spot for a spa! The rooms are cosy and, even though it seems small, it never felt crowded for us (a group of 3). The Silence Rule is respected, and not too enforced. In the pool, there is a waterfall noisy enough to let people murmur around it without disrupting the ambient calm. The fact that everything (sandals, robe, 2 towels, water, fruit, shampoo, soap, hair dryer...) is included and that free water is offered in many spots is a big plus. I went to different spas where if you forgot your flipflops, you had to buy their $10 pair, which would break during the day. The Scandinave's flipflops are really comfy!
Amazing experience! The massages and water circuit was fabulous!! Can't wait to go back !!
Experienced this for the first time last weekend and it was excellent. Highly recommend. Also, to the morning people out there, definitely go when they open. I went around 730am and there were less than half a dozen of us in there for the first few hours.
Fantastic massage and serene atmosphere. The baths themselves are a little small, as is the relaxation area. And it's just not the same fully indoors when you do thermal baths.
Perfect spot ! I went there with my wife for our 1 st anniversary and it was reallly we both enjoy it. If you are a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room fan That's the spot ! Silence is gold out there that's nice and you funish with a massage! We Will definitely go back !
Great little getaway from the everyday hustle bustle right in the heart of Old montreal. All you need is your bathing suit, everything else is serviced to you (towels, bathrobe, sandals, body lotions and washes for after... Etc) A little small and no access to outside while you are there, but has all the essentials ( sauna, steamroom, hot tub and relaxation area) for a mini escape. Wouldnt go here for more than a couple of hours at a time, while i can easily do half a day in bigger spaces with open air access. Prices are a little steep compared to other similar spas, but makes up by not having to bring anything with you, great staff and great service.
Friendly stuffs are creating a nice environment, and basically people who come have a good manner. Highly recommending.
I went to get help with my lower back Pain, I had trouble walking had to sit down when I got there, they had a nice couch perfect. To talk to friendly staff. My massues really understood and helped me get to being able to walk upright after 1 hr of help. I was still in pain but able to walk up right again which was great. Got great advice on ergonomics and help with recommended product and help I should look into. Very satisfied.
Amazing place to share with a friend or alone, specially in winter time, the people is super nice, the place is clean and organized, it was an amazing experience!!! Thanks for everything and definitely I’ll come back!
Had the best massage of my life here with a lady called Lea. Very relaxing, clean and cosy. Not as nice as the one in Whistler which is outdoors, but still good. My favourite thing about this chain is the no talking policy. It's a place you can come to truly relax. The salt room is a great escape from the city.
Wow. Best bath house I've been to. Very clean. Complete silence in the spa. It was actually a little Twilight Zone-esque to see groups of women sitting in complete silence, but it makes for a perfectly relaxing atmosphere. The steam room was closed on my last visit, so I recommend calling to see what their repair/maintenance schedule is.
Very nice and relaxing. Small spa in Old Port.
This is great for relaxation, especially when the weather is gloomy outside. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was easy to figure out. There's no talking there. I went through the different temperature areas a few times. The eucalyptus steam room was amazing. I took a nap there too and felt mellow after the whole experience. Lots of apples, tea and water around. My favourite was when the staff gave everyone green juices - definitely grab one if you spot it. I would go back again.
Inside spa. Can be crowded so it means probably loud sometime. They don't sell snacks or drinks anymore like they used to. I guess it's because of the noises since this place is pretty small.
Wonderful place for massages and relaxation, baths, etc. Really clean, modern, and the service is amazing. The staff is great
Love it. Had a nice massage that took away most of my problem sitting too long in front of monitors. Very nice jacuzzi pool. Fantastic relaxing environment.
Clean facility. i got bored after about 2 hours. id say, drive the extra way to get an outdoor spa where there are more options and ways to spend your whole day there.
Early bird specials are amazing. Place is well kept. Friendly staff.
I came here for the early bird deal. Definitely worth it! It comes with 2.5hrs of spa use. They also provide the amenities (robe, slippers, shampoo/conditioner, smoothies etc). The massage was lovely. I would come again and recommend to others.
I had a fantastic experience. Went with my boyfriend last night, and we could not have been happier. The staff were courteous and helpful, and all the little touches (amenities: all organic soaps, creams, lotions plus teas and dried fruit and nuts) added to the decadence. We will definitely be back. We did not opt for a massage; only the water circuit. Very good price with the reduced rate on Sunday evenings, and Mondays through to Wednesdays.
Unbelievable service and really well done protocols. Felt incredibly safe and relaxed the whole time.
what a great spa experience, extremely relaxing and serene environment. Visited during the week in the late evening. Staff were friendly and Welcoming will definitely be back!
Total Magic. Great experience from the moment you check in until the time you leave. The massage staff is excellent, the amenities are 5-star. Worth every Canadian penny.
The front desk girl needs some proper training, I went with 2 friends last Monday, we asked for the montrealer discount, the front desk girl charged my friends the full price TWO times, finally got it right the THIRD time!!! Some how she made the first refund to my card (without me knowing) and the second time to my friends card. Now their money is in my bank account, I have to refund them. She also gave my friend a locker that was already in use! To me this is very unprofessional, lack of circumspection. The bath was wonderful and relaxing, wish their staff is also up to par.
Beautiful spa in Old Montreal. Missing an on site bistro for food plus would be nice to be able to see view outside when in hot baths.
wow..Awful experience this morning. First, they booked me with a Masseuse I had specifically said, no more. Then, after waiting, I go back to the front desk and ask where my masseuse is. They said we will get her for you. Then they come to the back to tell me that she has not even arrived...she is stuck in snow. They dont even know where their staff is. They offered me a FREE JUICE!!! while waiting for madame to show up...estimated time 15-20 mins which means 30-35 mins. Do you think at this point I am relaxed enough for a massage!!!
Beautiful indoor spa, my only complaint is the locker room when you first enter. It's very hectic to change into your bathing suit when there's only 1 common area and it only takes about 4-5 other women changing at the same time for everyone to be in everyone's way. Otherwise, the spa is great, there is a warm pool with a waterfall you can sit under and give yourself a massage in.
Very clean and comfortable! Love the complimentary cuccumber water, tea and apples to stay hydrated!
Great for massages; for the water circuit Bota Bota is much better in my opinion (much bigger with more diversity + outside access)
Love the apple and refresher ( herbal tea, fresh water) the massage was ok i love all the bath espeacially the eucalyptus bath they always keep the place clean and refill cups
I have only been here once regrettably, it has a great atmosphere and a kind and warm staff. As mentioned in another review, it is very much geared to silence and it’s a great thing.
Loved it. Not in the same league as the one in Gatineau Park but this is a great place to spend some time to relax especially if the weather is a bit so-so. Staff were courteous and helpful.
Two stressed lovers found a place to relax and enjoy the day. Great massages, great resting area. The dark room is a plus!
After calling to book 2 weeks prior to my 4 day trip to Montreal. They rang me the day before my flight to rearrange the date of appt, fine we could visit a different day in our vacation. Then they rang the day before our appts to tell us the pools were closed and offered $20 off. This was highly disappointing bcz our hotel had a steam, sauna and massages so I could have just gone there, but they were now full. We went anyway, I've been to scandinave in Collingwood and was amazed but this location was poor. The customer service on site felt awkward and unwelcoming. they made us complete covid screening twice because "we'd done it wrong"... so she watched us complete it exactly the same way, again. Strange considering at booking they'd asked if we were vaccinated but no one asked to see proof at check in. The showers were dirty, none of the straighteners worked, the steam room was packed. I gave them 2 stars bcz the massage was great but I wouldn't go back... we were actually so disappointed we went to bota bota spa later that day...
Sumaya was an awesome masseuse. Very relaxing time. Only one pool but still good. Only thing that would be nice would be an outside area but still very enjoyable
Amazingly relaxing, co-ed spa. The tubs, sauna, and steam were all at a perfect temperature. Need investors to open in in Los Angeles.
Went there for a relaxing time and got exactly what I wanted, the skandinavian hot room and eucalyptuse steam rooms were great.
Great experience for an urban spa. They do a lot in a limited amount of space so you don’t feel crowded at all. Even at full capacity we got our bliss on, finding lounge areas and hooks for our robes as well as plenty of spaces in the hot tub, sauna and steam room. We especially appreciated the water, tea and fruit stations for rehydrating. All in all, the Scandinave Spa Vieux-Montreal checked every box! We would definitely return next time in Montreal.
Very relaxing and the early bird special is a very good deal. The massage was fabulous. The chlorine smell was a bit much and the bean bag seat I sat on smelled a little mildew-y
I book a massage here whenever I'm in Montreal. Always a refreshing experience, even without the typical Scandinav outdoor amenities
Great spa to relax with your significant other, or alone. RMT was incredible. Couldn't rate this 5 stars because my husband and I both noticed some unclean spots: some mould on the ceiling, peeling paint and debris at the corner of the hot pool. While this isn't detrimental, nor a danger to us during our stay, it just wasn't a pleasant sight while sharing hot water and steam rooms with other people. You want to see a place like this well taken care of and clear of any growth. Despite this, it was still a good experience. We would certainly go again and wish to check out the other locations.
Went here today, it's fine, quite small for a spa, steam shower was down. We had to fill out a Covid symptom form but they didn't check Vaxx Status and front desk was speechless when asked why they wouldn't make it vaxx only
Wonderful experience. Make an early reservation and take the time to immerse yourself in the peaceful and therapeutic baths.
Great experience, one I would do again. I would warn to find a strategy for keeping your towel and slippers-which are provided by the spa- but should it go missing the staff is courteous, and willing to help. A wonderful place for quitiness and peace. I would recommend this for everyone
Our massage spot was given to someone else and the staff hung up on me during the phone conversation. Do not recommend!
Incredible experience here; had my first massage ever and I feel like a million bucks. The Nordic baths are beautifully relaxing and made all my stress melt away. I'm already planning my next visit!
Great massage and service. Small facilities unfortunately there was a shower out of service and created some line-ups
I'd never been to a spa or had a massage before so I was nervous, but it turned out fantastic. The staff is so welcoming, the atmosphere is calming, everything is made to be beautiful and functional. The fact that they don't allow phones or loud talking past the locker rooms made it so much better. Totally worth the price.
Lack of diversity like most spas, but the all included makes it a good place to go.
The spa it's self is amazing and the massage therapist are spot on. However, this was my first time going to a spa so after leaving I checked the card I paid with and I saw that the amount I was charged was not the same amount that was on my receipt. I went back right away and showed the girl that was at the front counter. She was very sweet and didn't understand why I was seeing a different amount so she went to the back to talk with the manager. After a couple of minutes she came back out with who I'm guessing was the manager and she said that in their systems I was not overcharged, she then asked if I had an American card, I said no and that I lived in Montreal, she then told me that it must be something wrong with my Visa card and that I have to contact the company. I did so the next day and my credit card company told me that spas will charge the card and extra 15-20% of your purchase to make sure that there is enough money on the card for a tip later if you wish to give one which then evens out to the correct amount after a couple of days. I am very upset that the manager did not tell me this herself and instead pinned the blame on my credit card company which would be impossible. Needless to say that I will probably never go back to this spa and will not recommended it to my friends and family.
A great indoors spa experience in the city. I love that about Montreal. Spas are great. This one is not as good at the ones with exterior views like Bota Bota but as for an interior spa is best in class. Prices are very convenient and if you come in winter then you'll appreciate this place even more. Totally recommend.
You want to feel relaxed after a week of hard work? Scandinave is THE destination. Professional massage, then enjoy the many water treatments offered on sight
Expensive and slots are always pre-booked!
Very well run and equipped. The RMT's are professional and polite. The spa staff make sure that everyone keeps to a whisper as this enables everyone else to have a relaxed experience.
Great place to relax. It is small.
Love the ambience, the service and the flow of the spa is wonderful! One of the best massages I’ve ever had.
Great relaxing place in the heart of Vieux Montreal where everything except your bathing suit is provided! There is one large hot pool, one cold dipping station, a cold shower, a eucalyptus steam room, a sauna room and a lounging area, so overall it's not too big, but big enough for about 3 hours. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was moderately busy, but not uncomfortable at all. If it were really busy I could see the experience being different. I would recommend.
It was an amazing experience, I recommend the massage with Mathieu. He's really good and he know how to detent you. I really appreciate the ecalyptus experience.
unique experience, I wanted to relax a bit and I did it here. Great place with excellent service.
Although busy, there was lots of space to explore / rest. I got a massage + baths, which came to 120 with my student discount. It was very peaceful and the staff were attentive. I would recommend and maybe one day return. A great way to spend -20 temps in old Montreal while on vacation.
This place soothed my entire spirit! The circuit is detrimental for anyone who experiences extreme stress or requires a break from a high-level job! It will cure you! Highly recommend! ????????????
Really nice place but quite expensive for the number of baths..
I called to see availability and was treated rudely on the telephone. The phone attendant cut me off while I was asking about availability and spoke to me abruptly. I only asked "do you have any appointments for..." and was cut off. Hospitality is lacking at this place, made me not want to book with them. Go to Bota Bota.
Very professional. Seemed to kept very clean as well. Massage was amazing!
I was here Easter weekend for a massage. Was supposed to come out nice and relaxed, only to find that my rain boots were stolen. I had stuffed my distinctly patterned socks into my boots before I went into the change room. Upon exiting, I put on my socks, but noticed that my boots did not seem to fit right. It turned out that someone had decided to "upgrade" their off-brand, torn, black rain boots for my Aldo ones that looked extremely similar. They were ever so generous enough to leave my socks though [/sarcasm]. I was actually in shock for a while trying to comprehend how someone can be so blatantly petty, and suck so much as a human being. I had to leave the place with spa slippers in the rain. The manager was nice enough to note the situation and paid for my taxi back to the Airbnb. The price of the shoes was kindly reimbursed, but the brand no longer carries my size so I can't even purchase them again. :( The spa claimed they "didn't find anything" from camera footage. Even if they did, I doubt that I would've gotten my shoes back. It wouldn't have been possible to track the person down, and that was assuming they were actually a guest visiting the spa that day. I'm grateful for the staff for trying their best to help me look for the shoes, and for the lovely manager for standing in the rain trying to pay for our taxi ride. However, I would be extremely wary from now to ever leave my shoes anywhere unattended. Perhaps they can implement a better system where people have a choice to lock up their shoes and coats.
Birthday gift..and it was exactly what I needed!Nathalie is amazing with massage! The baths awesome!
Clean, Relaxing and it worth the price.
Really nice small place, was not too crowded. I really love the no stress zone, it is really easy to fall asleep. I was disappointed there isn't anything outside. They are also really strict on the "no talking" policy, so don't go at that place expecting taking news from a friend. I got a therapeutic massage by Agathe, she was REALLY good. Make sure to check out their deals, they have quite a lot.
This spa is really. It is a quiet spa perfect to decompress. The relaxation zone is the best I experienced in all the spas I did.
Loved everything about it. My massage was on point (60 min deep tissue). The facilities are great. After using the Jacuzzi, steam room, and relaxation room, i felt (and still feel) great! Will definitely be coming back here when I return to this beautiful city. I have already recommended it to numerous people who plan to visit the city.
Lovely spa, especially the steam room. There was no time limit from what I could see, so you have no pressure in trying everything available to you, which is great when you're there to relax. Would also highly recommend the dark relaxation room, could easily have fallen asleep in there.
This spa offers the best value in montreal! After a very good massage, you will go through 3 cycles of hot sauna/jacuzzi-cold shower-20 min nap. The silent resting areas has enough room for everyone and all utilities (blankets/pillows) are regurlarly refilled and changed. They offered a small smoothie and some snacks to all guests. There are all kinds of toiletries and basic skin/hair care products and they also have hair straighteners in addition to hair dryers.
I use to go regularly to this spa until I received attitude from their manager (I believe her name was Pascale) yesterday. Brought a gift card and as I was checking in the receptionist said we will return your balance of the gift card after your spa day is over. As we leave they then tell me that they apologize that they were not aware that they do not accept WaySpa gift cards since last year. Which is very understandable but having known this, I would not have taken the full service of everything from the spa which ended up costing over $400 for 2 people. We asked to speak with the manager for a discount and compensation. However the manager had an attitude and a half when she should be understanding of our situation and making us feel like it is our fault for this problem. She did try to offer us discounts if we returned at the end when I started getting upset but it will be definitely be the last time we come back after this horrible experience.
The best spa for ultimate quietude. Even a whisper is frowned upon, so be warned. Staff is adamant on keeping it this way. It's smaller than most spas, and it's indoors, but it gets the job done: 3.5 hours of the circuit feels like I took a 3 day vacation. Robe, sandals are included in the fee, and the changing rooms are well stocked with lotions and soaps, hair cream, facial exfoliant and deodorant.
Awkward and unprofessional customer service both entering and exiting the spa. Note, they did not ask for my vaccine passport (Dec 15) which led to a less than relaxing experience considering it is a communal space. At the time, restaurants and bars were asking for proof of vaccine, so it is bizarre that the spa did not mandate this on behalf of their staff and clients. I understand it has now changed, but I will not be returning as it was overall a mediocre experience.
I went to this lovely place with my friend and we enjoyed a lot. I’d like to give 5 stars to this Amazing place...amongst all the differents Spa that I’ve been in Montreal, definitely this is the best place ever...I really recommend this place, Try that out and you won’t be disappointed :)
Ordered massages for anniversary by phone. They booked only ONE massage. I spent time and money, and got nothing! Tried to reach them after, no success. If you want to relax, pick another place!
The relaxation massage here was really good and the staff were very friendly.
Excellent experience, good service, but a bit expensive for the 2 saunas and 3 baths
The premise is too small which can cause you to feel like its overcrowded. This doesn't help you relax...
Pricy but they provide everything and the relaxation benefits are so worth it. Clean and hassle free day off.
They have valet parking for $19-20 (I don't remember). It is small, yes. But the quality of the experience, If you like thermal therapy, is much better than Bota Bota. The temperatures are controlled, meaning cold is cold, hot is hot.
Great experience, I would never guess there is such oasis at the old port.
This spa is the definition of city-style retreat It is a very quiet environment, directly in the heart of old Montreal The staff always makes sure that we know the different sections of the spa and the relaxation cycle steps The massages are quite expensive but they usually include bath access I love going here, as it is close to home and serene They have some snacks, but you will need to get them at the front counter They used to have a smoothie bar inside, but it was removed to make place for additional beds For complete silence, there is a zero noise room
Was quite disappointed with my experience to be honest. The place is very nice but could actually use a little bit of TLC when it really comes down to it. Also, I understand that the staff is circulating the room to enforce the rules of silence but it was a bit overboard and actually took away from my experience. There are constantly staff members hovering around you with the big word SILENCE on their backs. You are catering to grown adults, it almost felt like a prison or daycare in that sense. I feel they could scale it back just a bit. Hard to relax when you feel like you are constantly being watched. I’ve been to plenty of other places where the rules were respected without staff hovering around.
Super nice environment, no. 16 is my favourite masseur. I also like the thermal facilities, also like the brand they chose for the shower amenities and the dyson hair dryer. Smoothies were yummy
Massage was good, place was empty and food and extras pricey. I would try another spa in vieux port before returning here. Valet a rip off too
The water circuit itself is very nice and over all great. The front desk lady was very welcoming and nice, but the staff inside spa was so rude, unwelcoming and gave you dead stares all the time. Wouldn’t come back because that just ruined the experience and the vibe for us.
It is the birthday gift to my mom who comes from China! We were very enjoy our experience here !
I cannot recommend this Spa more! It seems that everytime I want to try a new spa in Montreal I'm always drawn right back here. The quality of the massages is unparalleled; only to be matched by the politeness of the staff. I really enjoy my experience here and am truly looking forward to possibly getting a yearly subscription.
Place is fine they provide all required ameneties. I bought the couoons from Costco which basically give 20%off.
Secluded spa experience with the peace and quiet I needed. The eucalyptus sauna is amazing and I appreciated being there feeling undisturbed. It's never crowded, which I love and they take walk-ins. Great alone or a small group (2-3).
I love this spa. It's clean and quiet and very relaxing. They offer free tea and fruits to keep your blood sugar balanced and plenty of cucumber water to keep you hydrated. You also have all the after shower products you need to get ready and go like lotion q tips and even hairspray. Bring your own cologne and deodorant.
It was relaxing, amazing atmosphere and staff. But the massages weren't anything different from good spas in general, thus I would say the price seems a tad high from that perspective. Otherwise, I would still recommend coming here.
Everything was flawless from the bath, sauna to the small things like water, apple and amenities.
Friendly service in French and English. Take a massage it's absolutely worth it. Clean baths, sauna and steam bath. No outside pools/ baths Plus size robes would be appreciated.
I initially had an issue with miss communication but they promptly resolved my issue to my satisfaction and I am therefore modifying my negative review to a favorable one. Thank you!
Expected higher level from this spa, as it is in other locations of Scandinavia Spa. Here they have only 1 small swimming pool inside, NO outside pools, 2 saunas (eucalyptus and fin), and very poor relaxing zone. And all this for CAD 68 ( including taxes).
Small spa that's well maintained and very relaxing. Check out their early morning weekend massage and bath deal ????
Its a beautiful place but very quiet not to many other clients using the facilities. I would go back if it were busier. That was my overall feeling.
Fadila was a fabulous massage therapist. Courteous, caring, and so sweet!
Small area but quiet and relaxing. Has small snacks and tea. Wish there were more shower stalls in the changing room. But overall a great experience.
Heaven on earth! Great massage by Olivier, and excellent spa facilities (the eucalyptus steam room is by far my favorite!). You leave this place feeling like you're walking on clouds! Highly recommended.
Wow, fantastic experience. Sauna, cold water dip, steam room, hot pool and ample comfortable places to relax. Zero cell phones allowed, and they try to keep it as silent as possible inside the spa. This is the most relaxing way you could possibly spend an afternoon.
Staff is friendly, and the spa itself is serene. It’s the perfect size , and not confusing to get around.
Amazing tranquil setting and very clean in addition the staff is extremely friendly and curtious ...have been a few times and not only has the experience been consistent but it just keeps getting better I highly recommend this place
Do yourself a favor, go to Bota Bota. Horrible experience. The staff does not explain the wait list feature which made us wait 1.5h(the massage appointments get the entry prioprity over the people on the waiting.list. NEVER AGAIN
This was an amazing experience. The bath was incredible and the massage the best I've ever had. The place is very clean, the staff is very kind, they provide everything we need such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, body lotion, water, even plastic bags for your wet bikini. I just loved the whole experience.
Good spa in Montreal. But quite small compared to other spas you can get to if you leave the city.
Very fun experience! A quick visit to the baths can be a fun afternoon activity without having to spend too much on a massage. Def recommend!
I like it and come every couple of months. It has less. Variety than bota bota but quite relaxing nonetheless
An excellent place to go to relax. The service is great and the establishment is very clean. They supply you with a robe, towel (perhaps they should offer a second one) and sandals. The changing room is well stocked with very nice shower gel, face wash , body and face lotion. They even thought to have blow dryers and flat irons that get hot enough to straighten any hair. The massage therapists are well versed in their craft. Thanks to Ange Aimee and Claude for a great start to the day.
Its really lovely but it is a silent spa and they love to shush people.
Very disapointed by the massage. Paid 150$ for 50 minutes ish and the person never touched the area I asked to be massaged. He just went on with his tipical routine
i did go with a girl good place to relax and talk !
The spa is a nice getaway from the blistering cold winters. They have nice accomodations such as fresh fruits and water. They have a couple of sauna rooms, 1 giant warm, jet-stream tub, one freezing pool, and a couple of beds to just relax. It's a good tourist spot for when you want to relax and collect yourself after traveling.
Fantastic spa, you can really completely disconnect since you don't see outside. Plenty of space to rest. I highly recommend going during the week, as the weekends are busy and people talk a lot.
It is very relaxing, but in the same time it is very small compair to the other location in mont tremblant
Nice sauna and pool but would expect a cleaner surface.
The service is terrible but still costs me nearly 70 dollars just for a one pool bath. It’s ridiculous to call it spa. Please avoid going there for any cost. Almost no service. All you can do is going to the tiny pool with a low temperature of water. There are only 3 shower places for men, shampoo and conditioner are always unfilled. The stage inside the pool is so sharp, cut my feet today!
A little hidden compared to the other Scandinavian spas in Canada. But once you get inside it's elegant and spacious... Lots of amenities. This one is not outdoors... All indoors. Would go back when in Montreal!
Terrible quality for the price
Not really worth it when there is a far better facility north of Montreal. The massage was only "meh" and the spa itself is quite busy, zero enforcement of the "silence" rule. Maybe a good spot for some but it's not for me and I wont return.
The massage therapy was great. I got the deep tissue massage and truly helped relieve some pain. The SPA is very well kept and clean. It is small, but there weren't many people when I visited, so the amount of space was perfectly fine.
Decent enough massage , nothing exceptional but it was nice in terms of the bath they were very clean but there was this was one staff member who seemed to enjoy shushing guests . I found it a little overpriced on weekends. I might go back on. Weekday when the staff is more normal.
What an experience! Definitely took this moment to unwind! Worth the package! Massage was perfect, the steam room and sauna were not crowded. Never wanted to leave the Quietroom. Hot and cold baths were great. Furniture was comfortable. Changerooms and showers VERY VERY VERY CLEAN, and fully loaded with everything! Informative staff!
You just show up with your bathing suit, and they literally have everything else + fruits to snack on as you relax. Loved my first experience. Definitely going back at least once a month!
A year ago I gave this place a 5-star rating however now I must reduce it all the way down to a one-star rating unfortunately and this is not due to the quality of the therapist's work... it is due entirely to how management has been changing the business model and finding ways to obtain higher profits while at the same time lowering overhead cost and therefore the quality of the experience. I'm very disappointed... We can no longer use the pockets in the terry cloth house coats. There are no more extra towels readily available unless you ask... and there is bad pipes in the steamroom which are smelly sometimes. And that's just to start..... Too bad... for the new higher prices being charged... things should be better, not worse!
Must make an appointment but extremely busy. I didn't realize how many people they let into the spas. If you're someone who doesn't like being too close to others in a spa this is not recommended.
A great place to relax. Kamille did my massage and she was very good, quiet and lots of experience. Always served well by her.
The place is really nice, small, cozy. The service at the reception could be better.
This place is great! The staff are warm, friendly, and attentive. The facilities were clean and well equipped. I saw the staff constantly checking to see whether the refreshments needed to be refilled and they were always cleaning up. I love the waterfall in the hot pool as well as the eucalyptus room. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because...I left the spa early feeling kind of annoyed because there were a lot of people talking no matter which corner I went to. I was in the hot pool and as loud as the waterfall was, I could still hear people`s conversations in the pool! Then shortly after, I went to the resting area and I could another pair of people talking from 15 feet away. I wish the staff would pay more attention to people who are at the spa in groups because they are the ones talking. I saw a few people around me who were annoyed with the noise as well but were too nice to say anything (because we want to be silent and also don`t want conflict). It`s a shame that the silence rule has to be enforced but a lot of people are just inconsiderate and it really ruins the experiences of others. I loved the spa but I am not sure I`d come back as the incessant talking really took away from the positive experience.
Love this place. Clean relaxing and the massages! Wow
Great place to unwind. Nice peaceful ambiance but I prefer the one in Tremblant. I go to this one because it's closer to home. They provide everything so you can just show up with your bathing suit.
The steam bath was out of order and there was no reduction in price.
I had high expectations of this spa. I usually go to Strom but was unable to book this time. The ‘waterfall’ here was so loud and not sound shielded so that in the quiet area you felt like you’re at a construction site. The massage therapist was great but my insurance refused to pay as they stated the ‘rates are significantly higher’ than normal rates. I never had a claim refused before but did wonder why their prices are so much higher. I know that strom does not include the water circuit and this does but it’s not like a had a choice - it came included with the massage. Overall an underwhelming experience especially for the money paid.
I recommend the therapeutic massage there. It is awesome. Great massagist and the service is on point.
What an amazing place! I loved it for its cozy atmosphere, and decor. I felt fantastic after I left! I would definitely go back!
This hydrotherapy spa is comfy and classy. Quite and we'll equipped.
It was an amazing experience. We were provided with bath robes, towels as well as slippers which was beyond expectations. Also smoothie were being provided. Excellent service by the staff and warm welcoming environment. Thank you for an exceptional experience.
Great Spa. Me and my husband went there for the day. it was relaxing great place to go.
Amazing massage and wonderful facilities and amenities. Had a very relaxing experience. Merci!
WORTH THE TRY ! - super modern and super clean. - reception and staff are patient and professional. - locker rooms are clean and spacious with amenities ( hair dryer, flat iron, creams ... ) - they have control on the amount of guests in the baths so it is not over crowded ! - massage rooms are zen, modern and super clean. - amazing experience. - valet available ($)
Had a great experience from start to finish. The booking agent gave me a lower price for a prenatal massage because it was a morning appointment. Receptionist was very courteous as soon as I arrived. Massage therapist Karine was amazing. Very kind and listened to my needs. Will definitely go back soon!
Very clean, comfortable, and quiet environment for disonnecting from the world for a bit. I loved the herbal tea and apples included in the price. Very polite and low key service. Great location.
Really nice place. Excellent massage from "Yves". Liked that you literally only have to bring your bathing suit. They give you towels, robe and sandals. In the showers there is shampoo, conditioner and body wash. In the locker rooms there is face wash, face moisturizer, body moisturizer, tips, bobby pins, hair elastics, hair dryers, hair straighteners and feminine hygiene products. They serve water, herbal tea and smoothies on site and have bowls of apples if you want a snack. Liked the waterfall in the hot pool, it gave a massage sensation. Liked that they had a separate closed relaxing room that was completely dark in addition to the regular relaxing areas. The only 2 complaints I have are that there was nowhere to get a fresh towel other than the front desk which meant going back through the locker rooms to the reception in your robe. I also severely disliked the sandals they provided. The idea is great but the sandals were too narrow for me and really hurt my feet. Prices were very reasonable especially if you go during their promotion periods.
The best massage I have ever had in Montreal. Very professional staff, and extremely clean facility.
Great experience! I've been to the Scandinavian Spa at Blue Mountain and this experience was much more enjoyable. I liked how robes and slippers were included (you have to pay extra for this at Blue). The change rooms were clean and supplied with shampoo, conditioner, lotions, and hair tools. The spa amenities are pretty small, with the relaxation area taking up almost half the space, however, it was nice to relax while I cooled down and waited for my masseuse. I had requested a male and had the pleasure of being paired with Brenson C. Brenson gave me one of the best massages I've ever had! I have very tight shoulders and he was persistent with hard pressure throughout the hour. I was whimpering at times but my shoulders felt SO much better by the end of it. When I return, I will most definitely ask to be placed with Brenson again. Thanks!!
First time going to a spa! The Swedish massage was okay! The bath experience was really nice. We were there for two hours in total, and would have been there longer but we wanted to grad dinner. The whole silent policy was adhered quite …
Could be a bit cheaper considering the business and difficulty in keeping things spotless. Miss the snack bar that vanished. Great wet and dry saunas. Good baths and cold shower apparatus for those who dread the dunk. Good supplies in the dressing room.
Amazing lomi atsu. Baths were good, resting area is nice too. Just small compared to the blue mountain one!
Massages are great, Bettina was wonderful. The covid measures involve wearing a mask and taking a shower before the massage, I felt very comfortable. Looking forward to the baths reopening!
After visiting the spa before, this time was a disappointment. This was mostly due to the lack of effort of the employees at the front desk to create an ambience of a special experience away from the rest of the world. On arrival, I waited 10 minutes in line before being served, by someone who was perfectly polite. I was there for a massage and to use the baths. My friend who was supposed to meet me there had a schedule mix-up and at the last minute was unable to come. She called the baths and asked if a message could be passed to me, but (I learned later) was treated extremely rudely on the phone when she did so, and was told there was no guarantee I would ever get the message. (I did get message in the end--but what's the big deal?.) My massage was very good. But then afterwards my key did not work after my shower, requiring me to go out to the front desk in a towel (the place was busy, and I looked and looked and could not find an employee anywhere). A key was given to me with a curt apology, as if we were at the YMCA. Then later when I asked to use the phone I discovered the phone had a cord and had to be dialled by the employees. I have no problem with this in principle, but not here! But my point from all of the above is this: even if there was a special package deal in force at the spa these last weeks, consistency in quality of service is expected. This is not the Y, this is a spa for which people are paying good money. So the attitude of staff needs to be beyond what one would get at the gym, or at many restaurants, and stores in the city where the people can be coldly polite or rude and indifferent, treating you as if they are doing you a favour by serving you. I do not recall such treatment from my previous visits to the spa. If it's a busy period, then hire extra staff for just that period. And please spend some $ for a proper phone that can be passed to visitors so that they can dial their own number(!); not everyone has a cell phone!
I have a really messed up back thanks to Scoliosis and a fusion throughout my thoracic spine. I've been to a handful of massage therapists in the past to try and help with muscle tension and pain, but none have been able to really work out my knots - until my visit here! Thank you, William! You did an amazing job. I'll be recommending him to all my friends.
What a breathe of fresh air! The scenery, the vibe, the amenities for relaxation are of the highest standards.
Amenities are nice. Its very clean and service at the front was A+
Booked for the day and left after a few hours. Website “ looks” impressive. Literally one bath, a small cold bath next to it that had floating particles in it. The vapour room had a sign of max 15 mins on it ??? I was in there the mist was barely functioning. I think I even fell asleep for over an hour that’s how cool it was in there. Finally I find a quiet seating area. Try to sleep only to be woken up a by screaming I don’t even know what... I’ve been a member for years at Spa Mathers. Never put up with this craziness. Sorry this is a place I’ll never recommend nor return to.
This place... OMG this place, is heaven... its hands down a 10/10 without question. If you have even the slightest of inclination about going here, then go, you will not be upset.
I had a 60 minute massage and it was amazing. You know you are getting a great massage when you catch yourself falling asleep, not once, but twice. It was a great way to celebrate my daughter's birthday!!
Only one bath and that bath was freaking too hot
I was excited to try this spa out. Sadly I was left underwhelmed. Numerous individuals would not stop talking the entire time in the. "quiet spa," and despite asking management to intervene multiple times, they allowed loud groups to interrupt everyones peace and quiet. When we left, an employee asked if we had enjoyed our stay. We told them no, people would not respect the quiet rule and they said, There's nothing really we can do about that. We stayed less than half the time we had paid for because there's no point in trying to relax when you can hear the couple talking next to you about, "Becky in accounting." Refund was denied due to the fact that we were there for an hour. Will not be returning or recommending to others. There's numerous other more professional spas in the area.
Loved it. The massage was must needed and the therapist was very professional- Zaw
Terrible service! Let me be clear. I haven't used the facilities yet. However, I tried to reschedule an appointment because I woke up extremely sick that morning and we were told to pay more than 50% of the total fee. We have made reservations Saturday evening for the following Sunday for a couples massage. At that point, there was about 24 hours left before our appointment's start time. However, there were so many open time slots that we had our pick. To be fair, they did tell us that there are fees if we cancel less than 24 hours before but no mention of what the penalty is. At the time we didn't care. The next morning I wake up sick and I call the Spa Scandinave Vieux Montreal to try and push and not cancel our appointment to a later date. We were met with a 120$ fee to simply reschedule the appointment. The manager, who refused to give me his full name, insisted that sick or not, I had to show up or pay the fees. He could, however "see what he can do" if I get him a doctor's note (he asked for it on a holiday Sunday). There was so empathy from him whatsoever. When I pressed him on the matter that I might be contagious and his employees' health he replied that no employee will refuse to work because I am sick. Besides the bad and impersonal service I have two lingering issues: No mention of the amount cancellation fees whatsoever, neither on their website nor on the phone call How legal is it for a business, like a spa, to ask for a doctor's note?
Booked ahead online pre payed for service, when I arrived I was treated horribly by staff, I can only assume is due to my numerous face tattoos and unconventional dress. I was informed that " I may be more comfortable some place else" even after showing ID that matched my reservation. I was informed that there was a mix up and my reservation was canceled. I have never been treated so Poorly in my life.
A nice alternative to the popular outdoor spas when you don't want to face the winter cold or when you want to avoid cooking your skin in the sun. Friendly service. The location is small but it's not crowded so it gets the job done. Nice rest zones where you can relax in the dark. Also love that there is no time limit to the visit so you don't have to feel rushed. My only disappointment was that the towels and bathrobes were looking a little old and ragged the last time i went, but the first time I visited a few years ago I remember the robes being divine. Perhaps it could also be a tad bit cleaner but overall it's a good experience!
A great place to unwind and relax... massage was top notch... nice staff
My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and have been at least once every year since. We come from Toronto even though the collingwood location is a couple of hours closer. I have never been somewhere more relaxing. I love how if you talk, you will be shushed by staff. I am here to relax, not listen to someone's conversation. The moment my toe hits the water of the hot bath, I feel all stress drain immediately. The eucalyptus steam bath opens up my airways. The dry sauna helps me sweat out my toxins. The cold dip is shocking but refreshing. The relaxation areas help me fall asleep almost instantly. The free nuts and dried fruit are a perfect small snack to get me through my visit. I can't believe someone complained there aren't enough guests- that is one of the best parts! In all honesty, this is my favourite place to visit.
very bad experience ! The facility is too small for the amount of customers they receive. Service provided is low quality for the amount of money paid..Won't come back there !
Great experience! Came here for massages and I must say it was amazing. I am expecting so it was my first prenatal massage. It was heavenly. I would highly recommend.
Terrible experience. I’ve never been to a spa that has a waitlist and does not have adequate staff to run the facility. Don’t come here the remaining staff refused to accommodate us. It was a waste of time coming here. We also suspect that they treated us unfairly because we spoke English. Consider other facilities for your spa needs.
I made a booking for Swedish Massage. Upon arrival, I was provided complimentary refreshments since they were behind schedule. An hour passed, and when I questioned the staff at the reception, she replied in a very rude manner informing me that my reservation might have been cancelled or never put in the system. They did nothing to try and compensate for THEIR mistake, but instead tried selling me some other services ... that I would have to pay for!! I mean come on, thats ridiculous! Never again.
