The experience was lovely. We were alone in the wet sauna (which is the only spa accomodation there is) and alternated between wet sauna and rest... We left very rested and refreshed. The installations are a little defraichies though, for example my locker was broken, had to change lockers , and the switch between shower and not shower was broken in both showers. I showered fine anyways and the low pricing made it well worth it.

I paid for massage, manicure and pedicure but after a great massage, the manicure and pedicure were disappointing. My wife was given an Express service instead of the classic one (we were not informed about it when we paid and spoke to the receptionist). I would recommend getting the massage here but for anything else as others have mentioned, be cautious or look somewhere else.

Hands down one of the BEST massages I have ever had in my life, and I have had massages in MANY other countries including China. I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage booked with Serkan Gureri and it was beyond phenomenal. Pressure was perfect, he was professional and must have some sort of sports medicine background as he was able to pin point painful pressure areas that I didn't even know were a problem area for me. He was also offering advice on how to repair my muscles. You will not leave disappointed!

I loved my massage as I got the four hand massage that came with a hotstone massage as well. The receptionist was able to get my husband and I an appointment at the same time though in separate rooms (due to the space needed for the four hand massage) despite only having 24 hours notice. I docked a star the receptionist didn't tell us we could go to the hammond if we arrived earlier and my husband said his deep tissue massage was just okay. I would definitely recommend the four hand massage though!

A concierge (at a nearby hotel) suggested we try this spa for pedicures. It's a busy spa, so we had to take two 8 p.m. appointments for that day. I had a very experienced technician use an emery board to remove all my heel callouses (and it was painless after the treatment). My spouse's feet were also professionally treated. The session ended with a very brief (~1 minute) defoliant-moisturizing foot rub and were sent on our way by 8:23 p.m. EST. This was our anniversary holiday, so I felt this treatment was good enough. When my spouse showed me the receipt (the next day), I was disappointed to see that we had paid for two, concurrent 45-minute sessions. While we WERE treated professionally at the spa, I felt we were not given a full 45-minute session. That's a pity.

I left with more pain than I came in with. The massage therapist was applying so much pressure I asked her twice to reduce the pressure she actually responded with “bare the pain I’m trying to stretch the muscle” and she kept going over and over the same spot, I even jumped from the pain at one point! We discussed before the massage about having rheumatoid arthritis and I asked if I should change to a relaxation massage. She said no that I need it and she’ll be careful it won’t hurt and told me I can tell her when it’s painful. Well now I’m having trouble carrying my baby because of really really bad muscle pain (& joint pain). I don’t recommend this place at all.

This spa is located on the third floor of Hotel La Place D'Armes. This is one of my three favourite hotels in Montreal. Gorgeous exterior, friendly and helpful front desk staff, located in Old Montreal, three minutes from the metro, and nice rooms (get one with a brick wall - much cozier.) In terms of the co-ed hammam (steam room), I give it 5 stars. The steam and temperature levels are set perfectly. Since it was a weekday afternoon, we had the hammam to ourselves. Nice. From what I remember about the massage, I give the massage therapist 5 stars. (I fell asleep halfway through.) I simply wanted a relaxation massage and told her my likes (medium pressure and long, flowy techniques) and dislikes (using elbows or that chopping motion) and she delivered. Then during the massage there were several times when she did a technique that I liked and I would ask her to do it some more and she was very accomodating. The annoying and inconvenient thing is that the reception and treatment room are on one floor... the hammam is on another... and the changing rooms on yet another (you actually have to use the elevator.) I deducted a full point for that.

I'd give it 3.5 stars. My wife and I got a couples massage and were both ok with our massages. Not amazing but pretty good. I got a deep tissue and the lady scratched my back at one point so that particular spot became a bit sore as she was massaging. Also one very weird thing is the change rooms are outside the actual spa. You have to walk out into the common hallway to get to the change rooms which makes for a short but awkward walk from and to the spa. Even more for the men's because it's also on a different floor. You have to take an elevator to the men's change room which is weird when your in a robe and slippers. The hammam is nice for sure but they don't have much else. No sauna or hot tubs.

Je ne comprends pas cette attitude. Si c'est un changement de politique de votre service à la clientèle, j'hésiterai à revenir. Ce n'est pas la première carte cadeau que j'utilise de cette façon mais c'est la première fois qu'on me traite avec mépris.

There were so many people, including the dressing room is very small, the time to go there 20 minutes gone. And the following minutes were spent shuttling between the two waiting rooms, completely unable to find a place to sit because it was crowded. The worst part is that there is no place to stand not stand. I just do not know where to put myself. I was standing next to the stairs to wait. And the drop is only my second visit to this place, I still ran into the worst room, which is directly next to the reception and therefore very noisy. I had to really insist that changes me room. Phew. Fortunately, my massage therapist was very good. But for the rest, mismanagement, because too many people at the same time the capacity of the location. Et la goutte, c'est qu'à ma 2e visite à cet endroit, je suis encore tombée sur la pire salle, qui est directement à côté de la réception et donc, très bruyante. J'ai dû vraiment insister pour qu'on me change de salle. Ouf. Heureusement, ma massothérapeute était très bonne. Mais pour le reste, mauvaise gestion, car trop de gens en même temps pour la capacité de l'endroit. J'en ai parlé à la réceptionniste en quittant et elle avait l'air de s'en ficher royalement. Dommage. Pour ma part c'était mon deuxième mais dernier essai à cet endroit.

I needed a deep tissue massage and a good time in a hamam. John at Rainspa provided a very good service. I was wincing n groaning but it was what i needed to try to relieve my very tense leg muscles. Spa is in a downtown hotel. As expected space is an issue although there are lots of therapy rooms n a hamam. Nicely located near metro place d'armes.

So basically it was my mom's birthday and i made an appointment for one of their packages for me and my mom that day , we were a bit late but nonetheless we were there,they called me while i was on my way and they said everything for you is ready. When we got there the spa was so empty they were cleaning the place because of how empty it is. The receptionist wasn't rude but she talked as if i don't know everything works she was a bit struck by how someone of colour would come a so called 'legit' spa which wasn't ,anyways the package included two swedish massages and i added a hot stone, two pedis and the hamam , and due to the 'lateness' and the 'full booking' of the place we will just have to make the pedi and then still pay for the package which was 250$ as well as 95$ fee for my lateness which i obviously understand but the service i asked for wasnt given at all, the pedi had no vibrations in the feet tub and they said they dont even cut cuticles , i ended up doing the things i can do home better with less rude , racist service. The day i wanted for my mom didn't happen and yeah..
