The tea, dining and meal rooms are decorated in a one of a kind way, providing an unforgettable, cozy and relaxing atmosphere. This place is wonderful! Not super easy to find but not too hard either. We arrived early and 2 hrs went by very fast. My stiff shoulder is 80% better after the session, without any massage or physio, just the quality spa time. Not cheap but worth every penny. Suggestion for improvement: add the cultural aspect to it, offer people to buy the vizard hats at the door, add some Russian videos on TV and offer a crash course into the history of Russian saunas...

Private booking with friends for best experience, however nothing in the title says best damn peasant food around, (chef master sausage maker in Russia). Generous portions, so bring an apetite. Decor and atmosphere authentic, nice people (tea pot collection in dining area), Russian entertainmment on the TV. Banya is hot and woody. Steam bath, Turkish tiled. Bring salt and honey for your skin.

Fist of all I liked the whole concept of the place, the inside decoration makes you feel like home, very comfy and relaxing. The food was also amazing - a good variety of tea, great quality. The girl at the bar was pretty nice too - loved her attitude On the other hand, my wife and I felt so taken the advantage of with the whole leaf massage we received. The owner was playing to be so friendly and talkative, educating us on how to properly do things in there since we were first timers, after some time talking he offered to give us a leaf massage (which is basically getting rubbed/hit by some leafs) that's supposed to help with blood circulation, which we found pretty nice of him - right after the massage first thing he did was look at my bracelet number and left. The interaction did not continue after he got what he wanted. Once we are ready to pay for our food I realized he charged us $30 for the massage. HEY I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU HAVE TO MAKE A LIVING AND GET YOUR BUSINESS GOING BUT THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS - 0 TRANSPARENCY - I DONOT CARE ABOUT THE CHARGE BUT THE WHOLE INTENTION THIS PERSONE HELD BEHIND PLAYING BEING COOL Also, even the place makes you feel warm and comfy the woman at the front does not. No customer service at all, knowing it was our first time there did not show or explain anything. Also when leaving, did not even ask about out experience whatsoever. I felt like if I was in some South-American country where they play to be most friendly people in the world for you to fall for it.

My family and I love this place. Not only is hot/cold therapy excellent for detoxification/glowing skin/soft hair (hot sauna/cold water plunge afterward), the atmosphere of this place is amazing for the soul. The Bathhouse is cozy, warm and inviting. The food is authentic and delicious. And there is an additional room with comfortable seating/television for added relaxation. It is also endearingly family-owned. A mini-vacation in your own neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Excellent food and drink. Small spa area. 2 saunas, one small steam room and a freezing cold plunge tub that gets murky with time. Loud social atmosphere. Owner Valentina is pleasant and all staff are pleasant but this isn't a luxury spa. We had to figure out on our own by asking others how to use certain features of the steam room and scrubs and hats. Overall this place is very attractive and cozy in a chalet cottage way. Lots of diversity of clients. Nudity is optional. Tuesday women only creates a good atmosphere.

One of my favourite places in Toronto. Coming here has become a winter necessity for me. I can't imagine a better banya experience. The banyas are very well constructed. The food is exquisite; everything is homemade: soups, cakes, kvass and kombucha. The whole layout of this place is optimized for a perfect banya experience. There's a lot of little things that I love about this place also: the decor (a lot of authentic souvenirs from Russia and other places that the owners have collected from their travels), the tea selection and the pretty little tea pots (free), the fact that planet earth is always playing in the living room area, and the stern Russian lady who smiles every so often (it's so rare yet so special -- like a shooting star!)

This is one of my favourite places to go when the weather gets chilly, a real oasis in the city. The sauna, banya, and hammam rooms provide a range of different experiences (don’t forget to take a plunge in the cold tank). The extra services like the venik massage are a must-try. The kitchen serves excellent Russian comfort food, and there is plenty of complementary tea. The family who run the place are kind and helpful. Highly recommend.

The cold pool is really a large barrel for 2 and you often have to wait. I also wish there was a bathroom in change room so I wouldn't have to walk in robe across cold front entrance. Still highly recommend.

This was our very first visit to establishment of this kind. Very unique experience. Sauna, steam room, cold tub are not the only things to do here. You can take a break at nicely decorated tea room and have very good lunch while in bathrobes. We will be back for sure.

A great Russian spa place - almost only known by Russian people - I was lucky to discover it and I had a very good and relaxing time, people were very friendly and happy to introduce us to the traditional way of using the spa even people who couldn't speak much of English but sign language is universal! We spent half a day there enjoying all the baths and rooms, sipping some tea in the lounge room and at the end of the day we tried the restaurant (which is in the spa at the back) and it was delicious!

At first it might seem a little bit pricy, but for the amount of things you get it's a good deal. The robe, towels, slippers (but of course always better to bring your own), three different saunas, shampoos and shower gel, tea (as much as you want), friendly employees and nice conversations with random people, no limit in stay - wich is amazing. For additional (moderate) pay you might try out russian traditional cuisine and some stronger drinks. This is definitely the best place to see and experience the "traditional Russian Banya" (a considerable part of russian culture) in action.

A casual and social sauna experience. If you're looking peace and serenity this is not the place, however I highly recommend as a great way to spend the day catching up with friends or family. The facilities are clean and comfortable, and the food is amazing!!! I recommend picking up one of the homemade scrubs at the front desk to use in the steam room.

You don’t need me to chime along with the chorus of praise for this hidden miracle, but I’ll do it anyway. You will be daunted by the entrance at the side of a strip mall across from La Castile restaurant. Press on, into a homemade old-world/new-world escape to Russia (somewhere between Imperial, Soviet, and modern Russia judging by the various artifacts in the restaurant). The magic of this place is the people you meet, from Valentina, the owner, to the various newbies and devotees who all feel like they’re in on the secret. The saunas and steam room are no so hot that a first timer can’t be comfortable for at least a few minutes, although the plunge pool is shockingly cold and takes some getting used to. It’s clean and well organized and very comfortable, and the food in the restaurant is the capstone to a perfect date night or daily ritual.

This is one of my favourite bath houses/ saunas in the city! Cozy atmosphere with Russian village themed dining area! They have steam room, Turkish sauna and Russian banya. The menu is eastern European, so a lot of hearty foods, pickled plates and my fav borsch. Great selection of free tea for the patrons. There is also a small bar where you can get your vodka craving satisfaction.

Pros: Place is super homey and clean, chill area is awesome, nature channel on TV very relaxing. Variety of teas is fantastic. Cold barrel to dunk oneself after the sauna not bad. Cons: small and might feel crowded, food is decent but not great ( guys, Russian borscht should be red! ). Sauna is not hot enough to my taste. Birch leaves massage didn’t impress me but never tried it elsewhere. Service is decent but not great, the other day the waitress totally mixed up the order.

Entrance fee is a bit pricey but food/ drinks are very reasonable and facility is very clean and well maintained. Entrance includes robe/ slippers/ towels/ tea. Typical Sauna Extras are available for nominal charge, plus they usually have felt hats/ exfoliating body scrubs too. Plan to stay 4+ hrs to really get your monies worth. Family run, and very friendly. Staff don’t always have the best English but other patrons are usually very friendly and happy to help newbies with translation/ explaining (proudly and in detail) “proper methods for Russian Sauna detox”. If you plan to go on a weekday be sure to check the schedule as some days are designed as family/ women only/ men only.

So many people advised me to go and check out this place, so I finally decided to go. So, in few words my conclusion was quit negative because of the following: 1. Owner (reception) was unfriendly and rude from the moment we step in. 2. Banya (Russian One) - can be called Banya only by a person who have no idea what should be inside and how it should work (it was cold and too much steam - we spend there 3-4 hours waiting for it to be fixed, never happened). 3. "ushat" - was broken 4. "Koopel'" (a barrel with water to jump in after Banya) - was dirty (seems like water is not circulating there 5. "Ban'shik" - was incapable to deal with banya and customers. Can't even imagine what foreigners would think about Russian Banya if they will go there for a first time...Shameful. On the other hand I will give one more star for the food, because it was delicious. Decreased my review to 1 star cause of owner response. Yulia, we both know why I left this kind of review. I clearly described reasons. What my friend did I don't care, it was not him who left a review, moreover only he was drinking beer, ONLY. so BYOB was definately not a reason for me, but your customer service, lack of resposibility, rudeness and unwillingness to provide the service we paid for. I paid for my bill in full meanwhile didn't get anything.

Cozy soviet-themed, family-owned sauna with great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, 3 different steam rooms. They serve authentic Russian cuisine with a wide array of soft and alcoholic drinks. The lounge is super relaxing with soft leather couches and Planet Earth playing on tv. This was my go-to place, however since they raised their prices to $45/pop, I started exploring other options as well.

Instead of singing praises to this place, let me just say this: we have been coming literally every week for three years now, and fully intend to continue the trend. :) The atmosphere is great, cozy and warm (no pun intended :P), the people are friendly, both staff and visitors, the food is delicious, the tea is great... Need I say more? Just visit and see for yourself. I basically couldn't live without this place. :) The only word of advice is to try and come when it's not crazy busy, you'll have a much better experience than when it's packed. Oh, and when entering and exiting the actual banya steam room... Please close the door quickly. :)

The home cooked meals! Just so good! My favourites are the borscht, cabbage rolls, and any of the stews. It's so nice to have these meals after some steaming! The cycle of hot/cold is so beneficial. Tense muscles release and relax, you decompress mentally and you get such a great night of sleep after. I always feel really good after each visit. Favourite things: Banya is filled with with the scent from the birch leaves from the venik - Delightful :) The Turkish steam room smells of eucalyptus or lavender, it's been different each time I've gone. These "wet" heat rooms are more popular. The dry Finnish spa is pretty hot and intense. Also - who doesn't enjoy lounging around in bathrobes and having a good time with your friends. :)

Fantastic! Very beautiful, clean, authentic Russian banya! Admission was $45 for adult, but children are allowed in as well. Free unlimited teas and a paid menu of Russian food :) I got the borsht soup and the potato vareniki, both were great! Towels, robes, and shower shoes were provided for us. There were dry and wet saunas, as well as a Russian sauna and a cold water barrel. Also relaxation areas. For $15 my partner got a venik massage (bushel of oak leaves used to gently hit and massage the body) and said it felt both relaxing and invigorating. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a half-day getaway :)

Three words: Heaven on earth. I love this place so much, I once almost came twice in one day (coming consecutive days, by the way, is a must-try). Oh, and the food. What was good: the saunas are very nice and clean though the space is somewhat limited and it may get a bit overcrowded on weekends; the girls at the bar and dining area were extremely nice and welcoming; the food was not bad and the teas were really good! What was not good: the rest of the staff members were rude mostly all the time. Perhaps this was because we spoke Russian with them (I noticed they were much nicer to English speaking folks). Every question I asked was addressed with hostile sarcasm that made me feel like I'm not good enough for this place. Sadly, this kind of treatment creates a really bitter experience, although overall it is a decent place.

Hard to describe how amazing this place is. A steam room, Finnish sauna and the Russian wood-fire 'banya' version. Also a lounge, free tea and an amazing Russian restaurant and pub. Plan a whole night: steam, have a free tea and rest in the lounge and watch Russian nature shows, steam again for longer, have more tea, and repeat. If you're brave, between steaming, jump in the cold water barrel. Then enjoy a homemade meal... before one last steam session. After this is complete, I dare you to not feel a renewed sense of happiness and joy for life.

Lovd this place, though yes it is crowded often. The food is great and kombucha so delicious and affordable at $3 for a huge glass. I love their little scrubs for sale and the whole russian sauna vibe. The only major drawback is the dude who owns (?) it constantly interrupting me and my friends to tell us how we should do the circuit. Everytime I go this person is blah blah blahing at us at every turn , in an almost aggressive way. Like, just let me relax! Next time I'll just ask him to stop talking to me please!

$45 all day includes slippers, bathrobe, towel, lockers, unlimited tea, and ofcourse access to the traditional Russian Banya, a dry Finnish Sauna, a Turkish Hamam, and the cold water barrel. they also offer a russian venik massage ($15). Closed on Mondays. Unisex except for Tuesday (Women only) and Thursday (Men only). i came here with some friends on a saturday evening around 7pm, it was a bit crowded but i didnt mind. everyone was super friendly and respectful. theres a nice lounge area where you can sit on couches, enjoy some tea, and chat with friends/watch the nature channel. the food here is delicious and affordable!!! i recommend the Georgian Chicken stew. The in-house made kombucha is also great. And dont worry, you can chill in your robes :)

I have been going to banyas for 25 years (Chicago, NYC, SF) and this is by far my favorite. Valentina and her family are not only gracious hosts, but consistently provide a fantastic spa experience for a modest price. I have spent the last decade in Brooklyn and thought I had found my favorite spot (10th st Russian and Turkish baths, Manhattan), but I was wrong. South-western has the best heat (wood fired Russian room), contrast pool, lounge and restaurant I have ever experienced. With an an unassuming location, relaxing ambiance, and reasonable price, you really can't go wrong. I drive from Buffalo weekly to partake. Destination worthy for sure!

Cute bathhouse. The inside is much larger than it looks on the outside. Staff were very friendly in explaining everything. The tea selection was great and I really liked their in house kombucha. Very homey feel inside, very different from the bathhouses I'm used to but would come again for the unique experience.

Bathrobe, towel, slippers and shorts provided. Birch leaves not inclusive.

First time. Great concept, yes bath house are good for your health. But this place was unhygienic. Not sure if public is aware that MRSA and Steph infection is on the rise and the constant water on the floors is definitely contributing to that. The showers were not clean , hair on the walls, slimy walls. The steam room should not be allowed that many people. 8 people in such small space. It didn't seem clean. Overload of towels and robes in changing rooms. People might not like this comment but some might be thankful just incase. Do your research.

I have been here only twice, but every time was fantastic! I bring my friends here for a relaxing time (and cheap booze!). I hear nothing but greatness from my friends of this place. The wonderful saunas to relax, the ice bath to feel fresh again. Cut to the food. All the food here tatses like a nice old Russian grandmother just finished making it with all here love, picky or not. Everyone loves what is one the menu. I'm so glad everything is finally open again after the long shut down. Looking forward to you Richmond hill location next time!

I use this facility for recovery, injury prevention, and just to relax. Great service, I enjoy the dry sauna, steam room, hot sauna, and cold pool. The people are very nice, the food is very good, the service is great, and the place has a lot of history and character. They are opening up new locations in the North York area, and Niagara Falls. I'll be visiting their new location for sure, as they are offering more features and a bigger food menu as well!

Alright so a few of my buddies convinced me to come here on Friday night and oh boy was I skeptical. I cannot put into words how great this place is. Multiple saunas, a cold bath, showers, steam room, etc. The whole place was very clean which was my biggest worry. The food here is GREAT. The shuba, beef bourguignon, & chicken stew were all out of this world. If anything I'd say the entry cost is a little high and the food prices are a little low. I think maybe $30 entry would make more sense combined with higher food prices...but I can understand why they make it $40 to enter--> It probably gets rid of clientele they don't want here. Very mature crowd & relaxing atmosphere. Will DEFINITELY be back :)

Excellent Russian style sauna. In addition to the wood fired sauna they have dry sauna, and a steam room along with a cold plunge pool. They have a nice relaxation areas where you can relax with a cup of complimentary tea in betweens rounds in the sauna. Finish off with some homestyle Russian food that is delicious and pair it with a nice cocktail or beer to finish off an awesome relaxing and refreshing experience. Hoping they are able to reopen soon with the covid restrictions.

Came here for the first time with friends. Place is not huge but offers so much. Dry sauna, wet sauna (Turkish) fin sauna.. Cold water dipping tub.. The chill room is nice and the bar/ restaurant area is well decorated with vintage Soviet posters. The beers on tap are excellent (chech) and the food is fantastic. Pilmeni, borscht (beet soup) and buzhenina (pork) are made to perfection and much recommended.

Real homemade authentic! The sauna area is set up perfect, 2 saunas and a steam sauna(Turkish style), a cold water plunge and a cold water overhead barrel. The vanick massage is a great experience and a definite must try, skin feels amazing! Definitely come check this place out if you're into real authentic sauna experiences, and great food and service! Don't be scared off by the industrial looking building, dark alley, or suspicious looking entrance as this place is a gem! The bathhouse is phenomenal but the service was even better. It felt personal, like they really cared about if I was having the best experience or not. The facility was clean and the locker situation was very convenient: they provide you with a bracelet to lock/open your locker. The sauna/steam/banya all felt perfect and the cold plunge pool was breathtaking. Nice place for tea/drinks and food afterwards or in-between. The house made kombucha was balanced: slightly tart, slightly acidic, slightly sweet and very refreshing. Great place to relax or spend an evening. My only tip: buy the straw hat.

My husband and I visited this place and we absolutely loved it. But I wish they had a couple's only night so we don't have single men starring at us if we want to wear a really sexy outfit for our hubbies or make out with our man. Went for my first time yesterday. We stayed 5 hours! Very clean and well kept environment. You feel like you're in a cabin outside of the city - very peaceful. Food was delicious. Staff is extremely friendly and very friendly environment in general amongst other sauna goers. Highly recommend it !
