I was not impressed with my two daughter hair cuts nor my husbands. My one daughter was supposed to just get a trim but it wasn't very straight. My other daughter was supposed to get a sharp angled bob, again wasn't straight nor was it angled, looked more like Dora the Explorers hair. My husband wanted a bald face, however it was quite patchy and very uneven. We will not be back

Nice friendly staff and a good establishment. They gave me a good basic cut in about 15 minutes max. The downsides were that I had to wait about 20 minutes which was longer than the haircut itself. I over heard that 20 minutes is a short wait for that location so I would advise calling ahead before just walking in because you could end up with a long wait. Also, the air conditioning was broken when I was there and the till broke and the staff switched to cash which luckily I had. These two issues would have made it barely a 3 star but the pleasant staff and good quality haircut mixed in with her attention to detail (added 10% off for military just because it came up in conversation) saved the 4th star in my opinion. Basic cut with discount for $16.75.

The place is really hit or miss. Everytime i take my son to get his hair cut i explain in great detail what we want and how much we want cut as mu son is very particular. The last time we went we told the lady to just take about 1/4 inch off the top as he likes to keep it long. In the end she had taken so much off that my son had to wear a hat to school for the next four weeks because he was so embarrassed. Needless to say we were not impressed and will not return.

I waited in this place for 20 minutes to get my haircut before walking out in anger. I don't mind waiting but the one woman talked non stop while cutting hair with 3 people waiting. The talking would not have been so bad if she could cut and talk at the same time, but she could not. She told the guy behind me it would be 20 mins then I waited 20 and she never finished the one haircut still. She was an older women with white hair and a pink shawl you need to teach her to cut while she talks. It was my 2nd time in the store and it will be my last. This is too bad because I was so happy with my first visit.

I only needed a trim - everything I asked her to do she ignored and everything I asked her not to do she did anyway. She used dirty brushes still with other peoples hair in them and my head actually hurt afterwards from the way she cut so fast - it felt like my hair was being ripped out rather than cut. Only went as a one off because my regular stylist was on vacation - would never go back and would certainly not recommend.

The public should know that at this time this salon is refusing all customers who have been outside North Bay in the last two weeks. There are currently no official provincial regulations to say that, this is simply a straight-up discriminatory policy ( I must travel for work, but only within the province) enacted by this specific FC. I've been a regular customer here at FC for two years. After I was denied service, I was able, fully disclosing my travel history, to book an appointment with the salon down the street with NO issues. They confirmed there is no current regulation specifying the exclusion of customers who have left North Bay. This is really disgusting.

This is the store right now. I walked in at 7:35 with my son to an empty store. Lights on, open sign glowing, open till 8pm. The hairdresser said they take no new people after 20 to close. I glanced at the clock meaningfully - no uptake. So, we walked out, went shopping next store. Taking this photo now, still 15 min to close, open sign still on... very confused what they're open for?

Made an appointment I waited 40 minutes out side. It was very cold and at 79 years of age, I had to leave due to arthritis and a few other problems. I thaught with the appointment and waiting 15 to 20 minutes would be fine. As I left two or 3 of the other women that had appointmentx at the same time as I did got called in. This is unfairly scheduled . And I saw one walk in waiting that they called in first I have been going to first choice for about 30 years now and have not had any complaints

Online check in disappointed again! I’ve been coming to this location for last 12 years. In recent times, my experience has been below par. First choice advertises online check in. Despite checking in one hour before, when I have showed up for my checked in time. There are eight persons ahead. This tells me that the staff are not using the online check in correctly. Needs major improvement. Very disappointed again.

They asked me if they should use clippers or scissors. Just like the plumber asks which wrench he should use; and my accountant asks me if he should use a pencil or a pen. I said 'I dont know enough about haircutting to know the difference'. She says 'oh one would be with clippers and one would be with scissors'. I was hoping she was joking but she wasn't. So, pretty hard to communicate with. Get home, look in the mirror more closely, WHOA, bad haircut, never going back there.

When I when there the person who was in front. Give my self the person who was in training. I ask the person about previous experiences. She said i have 4 years of experience. But she was in training. I saw her picture for hair style and start cutting. She didn't know was she was doing. She took 1 hour to cut my hair. Even No one ask to that this person is in training to if you don't feel comfortable than someone else can cut your hair. Finally after 1 hour licenses person take over my hair cut and She was great so she tired bring my hair cut on track. But she couldn't. At end my hair cut was massed up. And I was very disappointed. I don't recommend someone should go there and get hair cut with under training person... And "first choice " please ask the customer before you handed them to the under training person. Really Really disappointed ☹️

Asked for #2 on the side and about a half inch on the top. She was leaving about two inches on top, told her shorter and be barely took more off. Too busy talking to other hairdressers. Couldn't talk and cut at the same time... Took 40 minutes to cut my hair when it usually takes 10.

I didn't get the name of the girl who cut my hair - she had long pink nails and blonde hair - but she did a fantastic job. I'm not the most clear on directions for haircuts, but she worked with what I did say and made my hair look great. She was thorough too, going back over to make sure she didn't miss a spot, checking her work in the mirror constantly, etc. Friendly and accommodative. I was also feeling kind of bad because I felt I was being kind of rushy, noting that I'd have to go if I couldn't get a cut immediately, despite it being a somewhat busy saturday - but this girl who had just walked in for her shift took me right away. 10/10, would get a cut from again

Not happy. Just moved back to the Bay after 22 years. It's picture day tomorrow, still unpacking and my kids needed a hair cut. My 10 year old has been growing out this curls for months and only wanted a trim around his ears to tidy things up. I turn my head and "Jess" had cut off all his curls and continued to cut all of his hair. He was so unhappy and was so disappointed with his hair.... and so was I. First and Last time. Thanks for nothing. Over an hour wait, $40 for 2 kids. Won't be back.

I went to get a hair cut there and they did a very poor job on it. I asked for a medium on the top and to blend it in with the sides, and instead they just went number one on the sides and short on the top and I look awful and ridiculous now. I'm very displeased with their styling and their lack of following instructions, I would literarily recommend that you get your haircut from any other place as they will do a way better job than this place. The only complement that I can give to this place that the staff was somewhat friendly.

When an 11 year old girl comes in with her mother and the mother requests a wash and cut and the hairstylist shaves half my daughters head without talking to the parent first, is not responsible at all. Convenient timing being able to walk in to get an appointment.. they’re somehow always packed so be prepared to wait a couple minutes but usually not too bad a wait. Nice if you can get a hair dresser to request, but if they aren’t there, it can be a hit or miss weather you like the hairdresser / style of cut. Overall usually a good experience

There should be an option for 0 stars. Horrible experience for myself and spouse on two separate occasions this week with two different stylists. My hair cut took 50 minutes and barely any hair was cut. I repeatedly asked for her to cut it shorter and the areas I really didn't like. It never got shorter and I ran out of time and patience and left. Went home to fix it and have my wife even the back along the hair line. My wife went for a dye and cut and the stylists asked if the length was ok, my wife said yes and then the stylist continues to cut, and cut, an cut. She showed her pictures beforehand of her with the length she wanted it back to. Her hair has never been so short. How can the stylists here feel they know better than what the customer wants and simply refuse to listen?

Excellent haircut for an AMAZING price! I have given it a few days and styled it myself and it is excellent. I was a bit nervous because my hair is naturally very curly and long, it WAS down to my waist and I wanted a LOT of it cut off, normally for something so drastic, unique, and specific as what I wanted I’d go to a pricier place, but I’m broke and don’t have tons of time to spend being pampered when I can’t even afford it so I went here and NO REGRETS! I got a bit scared when all my curls started dropping to the floor, but now I couldn’t be happier! What an amazing job, and I was able to tip nice with the money I saved. Wicked good job!

My husband just brought my 3 year old son there today and the haircut is plain and simple terrible... we usually cut his hair at home and it looks 10x better when my husband does it..which is sad for bringing him to a salon with someone who went to school for it and still have to pay. We asked for a gentlemens cut..with a hard line. Top was not trimmed ..she only did the sides and hard line is bad. Looks raggedy.

If I could give negative stars I definitely would. I've brought my siblings here for multiple haircuts. I would no longer reccomend this hair salon. Go to anywhere else but first choice. When I went into complain about my brothers haircut they said they didnt charge me but they did My sister had my card and I didnt want to go in because I am sick. So I was lied to and I was charged for something he hated. And he said no to cutting the top yet she did. My sister confirmed he said not to touch the top. So now I have to go spend an additional 60$ at a different salon to do as much as they can to make his hair curly since nobody has time to do a perm. It was honestly a waste of my time. I will never go there nor will I bring any of my siblings here again. Ridculous Thanks a lot Tiffany Definitely posting on multiple medias about my experience. I am not impressed.

Why would you have an online check-in to just show up to the location to have "6 people in front of you"?? That is counter productive.. wouldn't checking in online put you in the line ahead of the walk-in folks??
