She makes me feel safe, beautiful, confident and understood in her chair! Not only does she offer great advice and references while I’m there but sometimes I contact her via Instagram and she always manages to settle my concerns and educated me so much on how to maintain my curls. My bridal party and I had our hair and makeup done here for my wedding in August 2015. The entire process was so easy and stress free with the Au Premier team. Renee took care of scheduling, and she did that perfectly (she told me we'd be in a 9:00 am and out by 11:45am... we were in and out EXACTLY as she said!). Our hair was just beautiful - Tina and Lily are so good at listening to what you want, and giving you exactly that. Our hair lasted all day and well into the night after hours of dancing. Our makeup was also perfect, lasted all day, and looked wonderful in photos. I would HIGHLY recommend to any bride to get her hair and makeup done here for their big day. I've also been coming back here ever since my wedding to get my hair done. Always a good experience!

I got a haircut a while from one of their employees named Sherrie. She didn't have an once of professionalism when addressing me. She was looking at me up and down and would gossip with other customers about me. I wanted to run out of the salon as I was sensing other hairdressers heavy eyes on me. I was inexperienced about hair and all and she took that to her advantage. Looking back I regret not standing up for myself so so much as I was intimidated by such a rude and shameless person.

She gave me the right kind of layers that would look good in any hair do. Possibly the worst “blow dry” I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The original stylist I was put with was running late so I was given to another stylist. I would love to give you her name but I didn’t get it. I was brought over to the sink to wash my hair. The assistant brushed my hair roughly in the sink without conditioning despite me clearly having bleached and sensitive hair that should not be manhandled when wet. The stylist put some product in my hair without telling me what it was. She had asked me before I got washed what I wanted and I said specifically blow dry with curls, lots of volume. When I had spoken to the receptionist on the phone, I said the same thing. She dried my hair with a paddle brush in about 5 minutes and then went over my hair (which I was not sure was 100% dry) with a straightener without blow drying my hair properly with a round brush and giving me 0 volume. She started curling at my root giving the illusion of volume, which might have fooled someone who didn’t go to hairdressing school and work at two salons previously. She used barely any hairspray despite me telling her my hair falls easily. As you can see in the picture, one side of my hair is now way longer than the other because it was not curled well and not enough hairspray was used. I was in her chair for maybe 20 minutes and it cost me $50 for an insultingly subpar experience. She made me take off my glasses even though they were not in the way, so I couldn’t see what she was doing. She asked me if I liked it before my glasses were even back on. Once they were on, I saw there was a bump on top she kept trying to smooth down and that she had curled my bangs towards my face. My hair is a frizzy, ugly mess and I didn’t get what I asked or paid for. The worst part is that this was my first time going into a salon since Covid started and I was so looking forward to having some me time. I haven’t done anything for myself in two years, and I left regretful and feeling like I shouldn’t have bothered trying. This was not worth the heat damage.

I went there 3 years ago and had an appointment with jessica, I asked for layers and she did a really bad job, she was a junior at the time. I stopped going there and switched salons but with covid i decided to go back since my other salon wasnt open yet but this time i asked for a senior, i get there only to find out they had booked me with her again since she was a senior now.. shes a very sweet girl so i couldnt tell her i didnt like the haircut she did and i just gave her a second chance since i was already there, she did a better job but still not what i wanted at all, she cut way too much off and didnt even give me layers, for the price im paying i expect them to have the best hairdressers. She's very sweet as a person but she isn't the best hairdresser

Love all my haircuts and color treatments at Au Premier. Used to get my hair cut in Toronto and Miami. Was referred to Au Premier by Vidal Sassoon school in Toronto. Really happy they did as i love the salon. Because of busy schedule i move around the stylists and colorists and have never been disappointed. Ambience is hip and not stuffy. They listen to what i am looking for and then i simply sit, relax and close my eyes. Love going there. My 4 daughters go there as well, great cuts for all of them (age 16 to 25) and the Salon also offers student discounts. Would not hesitate to recommend this salon and their great staff and services! I decided to colour my faded out balayage hair myself from a box dye kit. I was going for dark brown, but somehow ended up with blue hair!! In a panic I called Au Premier to get some help. Within an hour I was sitting in one of their chairs getting a consult with Rina. She saved my hair! It looks so amazing! She got it the dark brown I had been wanting! Will for sure be back!!

The spa services are reasonably priced and around the same that you would find elsewhere. But the salon is overpriced in my opinion. I've been going here for a few years now and it's a very nice place. However, since there are many aestheticians who work there, the quality of the service you receive will be different every time unless you specifically request an aesthetician for the service. This is probably what bothers me the most - the level of care and attention of the aestheticians is not the same, and if my preferred aesthetician is not available when I would need my appointment, I know that the service I'll receive with another won't be of the same standard. All the hairstylists have their own fees based on their experience. You'll probably be paying somewhere around 40-50$ for an appointment with a junior stylist, and some of the senior stylists can have their prices in the 80-90$ range. And if you have long and thick hair, be ready to pay an extra 10$ surcharge. Regardless of that, the place is very clean and professional. Even though the quality of the service may not be the same every time I go if the appointment is with a different aesthetician, I don't hesitate to get my brazillian done here. Everything is clean and they don't double-dip in the wax, so I am not at all concerned by the hygiene standards and trust them.

Sherrie is an absolute goddess when it comes to curly cuts! I have been natural my entire life, and have tried several different hair salons and shapes, but I have never had a curly cut as detailed & exactly what I wanted as the cut Sherrie gave me! She is more than amazing at what she does, but also so passionate about it! She is trained in nearly every curly cut out & is constantly perfecting her craft by attending the latest workshops & trainings all over North America.
