I used to love that place so much! The service was great, the employee were super nice too. Though, the last time I went the girl pushed the bio gel even though I had asked for acrylic. When shaving down my nails, my nails were burning! I had to pull my hands away a couple times. It took the girl not even 25 mins to put on my set and lint them. Some nails were thicker than others with like chunks of bio gel under the nails (didn't fix/clean them under). Unfortunately this was my last time there.

I was dumb and decided it would be a good idea to try Lans nails on bath road and queen Mary strip. I arrived at 2:25 pm today, I finally got in a seat at 3, as it was busy I was going to leave, as soon as I got up to leave is when they made me sit. I was upset and the shape of my nails wasn’t looking good at the start and I said I only have to tips can I like leave I don’t my nails done here. She’s like “I just need to know if you want gel or acrylic” she was pushing gel really hard and I didn’t have the money today and she wouldn’t stop, she said if you break 2 or 3 gel nails we will fix them for free. Acrylic cost money. I got acrylic because that’s what I wanted and could afford. A lady later came in with one broken gel nail and she only have them 3 days, I was curious and asked because I knew she was lying. They put glue in the crack and too coat. It didn’t cost her but she has a huge crack in her nail. The lady doing my nails was absolutely rude. I am here right now asking for them to be shaped at least better. I am very upset with the whole experience. They just “fixed” them. Shaped them a bit better. But didn’t clean off the shavings and left them dirty. Will be posting photos. All my nails are bent out ward.

As said in the website, the acrylic fill-in is supposed to be $25 but then after the nails were done she charged me $50. I ended uo paying way more than advertised. I found it extrmely hard to hear and speak them. The experience was bad overall, she was rushing the nails and she filed them too much.

I was able to walk-in here (after calling ahead beforehand to ensure availability) to do a mani-pedi for my bday while I was in town. I upgraded to the shellac after initially declining and they did a good job, as it's still going chip-free. This is my 1st time since pre-pandemic in a nail salon and they did a thorough job cleaning up my cuticles. The place is spacious and they have calming spa music playing in the background.

I visited Lan Nail and Spa last Monday, August 9 2021. I booked an appointment prior to arrival but was still faced with a 30 minute wait; due to COVID protocol this 30 minute wait was spent outside in the heat with a mask on. Staff were very apologetic and kind, and typically I would not write a negative review based on this experience alone. However, less than a week later both my shellac manicure and (regular) pedicure had large noticeable chips, and by this point they are both ruined. I'm not sure if this is due to poor polish quality or due to the fact that staff were rushing. I should note that this was my second trip to Lan Nail and Spa - my first experience was excellent - my shellac manicure held up beautifully for weeks. Unfortunately, I will not be returning based on my most recent experience.

Overall I am not impressed with LAN nails. Walking in, the store was nice and clean so I was hopeful I had found my new favourite nail place. That was definitely not the case. I asked for biogel- but received acrylic nails. When she was filing my nails she filed so close to my skin that she actually cut two of my fingers (which drew blood) — the girl didn’t mention she cut me at all either. She only used one coat of colour on my nails, so the colour looks streaky and almost see through.

I’ve been a regular for almost a year now, however after my last visit, I will never be coming here to get my nails done again. When you call to book an appointment, they don’t even ask for your name or number. You get there and you realize they are overbooked and are in a rush to get through customers. I had booked an appointment to get a fresh set of acrylics and felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable, since the person doing my nails rushed through so quickly that I was in immense pain, I drew blood and he said nothing, and all my nails were of different lengths. They then passed me along to another person to paint my nails, and she was immensely rude and impatient with me as I was deciding what colors I wanted. She huffed and exclaimed “oh my god” and slammed the nail polish on the desk as I was taking my time. I was absolutely horrified with the horrible service, I will not come here again.

Great staff and very friendly. I enjoy my time when I am in there. However when I get my nails done I expect them to be done correctly. They forced me to get shellac so it wouldn’t look “cheap” and it would minimum last 3 to 4 weeks. It’s not a week since I got them done and half of them have chipped and are peeling off. Keep in mind I am OCD with being careful of my nails and they shouldn’t be doing this.

I am only giving a 1-star rating because it is not possible to give a NO-star rating. This was our first visit to Lan Nails and it will be our last. I went in with my daughter-in-law to get a full set of bio-gel nails. We were given acrylic nails. I asked to have sparkle added to my blue french tips and that was not done. My french tips are of different lengths as well. The girl who did my daughter-in-law's nails filed them so aggressively that she actually cut two of her fingers on the sides(as can be seen in the picture) and didn't even mention it even though she actually drew blood. The staff were not rude but they were not particularly friendly either. I would not recommend this nail salon at all.

Friendly staff and lovely space, I just had a bad experience with the services. Was provided with bio-gel nails when I explicitly said I had wanted UV gel (naturally bio-gel costs more) and they didn't even apply gel on top of the colour as is typical of gel nails so it was no more durable than a regular shellac manicure despite being almost twice the price. Since I was a walk-in they were also rushed and didn't give me enough time to fully dry the nails so one peeled within 2 hours and I had to return the next day to have it fixed. I'm sure their shellac and other manicure services are good, but I wouldn't recommend this location for gel.

Very clean, comfortable and relaxing! It was my first visit but they were very busy, even for a week day - they were serving a full bridal party, appointments, and walk-ins. They had every type of client in while I was there, from the little flower girls to some big tough looking guys in to get mani-pedis. I will definitely be going back!

It's sad cuz this is the only place I went to!, but for the high price an atmosphere you should be more professional!. I went to Lan nails this morning to get acrylics put on. The service has been better when I’ve gone previously. When I arrived it wasn’t very busy and I was seated right away. I was not offered tea or water like other customers. Lan did my nails but it seems like she was rushing. I got a light colour done and only two coats left it quite streaky, the shape was very fanned out which didn’t look nice. The acrylic was done extremely thick and does not look natural. I have a scratch on my finger due to how rushed Lan was. I used to love going to this salon but the service is starting to get worse. I’m not returning to get my nails done here anytime soon.

I recently had a shellac manicure and they bloodied 4 of my cuticles.. at one point she tried to continue to paint the blood into the polish - SO gross. The whole point of going was to have beautiful nails for an event and they looked awful. I went to have the shellac removed and she didn't soak my nails long enough so to rush me out the door they used their dremel tool to sand the polish off -- but she made my nails thin, brittle and sensitive. She also sanded the skin around my nail which is red and has been irritated for days. Also, they are very pushy about up-selling to you and it makes me very uncomfortable.

I had previously gotten shellac nails done at Lan and loved the outcome! Then when I came back to have them taken off, the person performing the service used the drill to take off all the shellac, and never soaked them or anything. This was the first time I'd had shellac done, and didn't know any better, but after having the polish taken off I realized how damaged it made my nails. I told my friend who informed me that the way they'd removed it was incorrect, but that she had had her stylist remove them properly. I'm really disappointed with the outcome of my nails and will have to spend months to grow them out to get rid of the damage. Please train ALL your aestheticians/stylists on how to properly remove shellac, as not all your clients will know the correct procedures and will not return again.

I booked a bio gel refill and when I sad down the women began applying acrylic, I reminded her of what I booked and she said " this is better for your nails" and carried on completely ignoring my requests, asking if the change was ok or if I wanted that. I asked for a simple french design and provided a picture for reference. The women glanced at the picture for half a second, clearly with zero interest in trying to match the design and the continued doing whatever she wanted. I had her redo them twice then on the third try I gave up and accepted it for what it was. When I booked my appointment I requested nail art, having just moved to Kingston I was referred to this salon for that. To say this was a disappointing experience is an understatement. The simple french design I asked for looks like a child painted my nails, not a single line is straight, smooth or remotely matches any of the other ones on my nails. I will not be back.

I have been a customer of LAN nail salon for a few years. However, I haven’t had my nails done in over a year because covid. Changes included waiting outside and being brought in. Obviously masking, also plexiglass barriers. Only 2 or 3 people were in the shop at a time, all socially distanced from one another by like 12 feet. The whole experience felt very safe and I can’t wait to go back.

I had my nails done here the other day and am so disappointed. I had heard good reviews from friends so decided to try them out but the nails I left with eere not what I asked for. The person kept filing them shorter and shorter and gave me a completely different shape than I requested. When this was pointed out they told me they looked fine and that I will love the natural look after. They are honestly the worse set of nails I have ever had done. Some of my nails have dips in them , they are varying thicknesses, my thumb nails are completely different shapes than the rest of my nails, and they sliced into my skin on two of nails. I retracted my hand a few times and told them they were rushing and was told it was no problem. I pointed out these issues and kept getting told they weren't done and it will look natural.. It was the shortest nail appointment I have ever experienced, about 25 minutes and it shows. They kept putting more and more clients into chairs without the proper staffing to handle it. I wont be going back.

Usually the service here is pretty good, but today I came in to get my solar gel nails taken off so I just had my normal nails. Told the man that and he just shaved the nail down till it was all roughly equal to my natural nail but my nails still had the acrylic on it and he didnt understand why I was still sitting in my chair. Usually they let your hands sit in acetone to make the acrylics softer but he just shaved them. Horrible service. ????

Really bad experience and won't be back here. When I called to make an appointment, I asked if they remove dip powder on nails. They said yes. I came in and they kept asking me if they were fake acrylic nails and I said no and that they are my real nails with dip on top. The man removing my dip was so rough with me, I was visibly in pain and he was electronically buffing my nails so much my fingernails were burning. He took them off as if they were fake nails, not the right way dip is supposed to be removed (like every other salon I have gone to). My nails have never been so weak. He cut two of my fingers and I left the salon bleeding and today they hurt even more. I got my nails painted less than 24 hours ago and they have already chipped in 2 spots. They look really bad and I'm not happy with this manicure at all. Do not recommend.

Don't bother making an appointment you will not get out of there for a few hours. Nice workers but they need to deny customers or get a better system of helping people those who came first. It's very annoying having to wait 30 plus minutes after scheduled appointment for them to wait on everyone but you. Do not recommend

I have been getting gel nails for over 20 years. I get a long, oval shape that takes special skill. I have lived in Kingston for 5 and a half years, and I I tried out many of the local nail salons before being referred to Lan Nail & Spa by a friend. I was taken aback by the level of skill my nail tech has. They are, easily neck in neck, if not surpassing the very best nails I have ever had done. What makes this nail Spa really stand out is that it is not your typical nail salon. It is a relaxing spa atmosphere in a spacious and beautifully decorated space. Top notch pedicure chairs, relaxing music, and an offer of tea, soda or other beverages, not to mention treats for those who want them. And, they are offering this level of service at the same kind of pricing you would pay elsewhere for the most basic and rushed service. Kind, kind people. I am writing this as a New Years "thanks" for treating me so good!

My daughter and I have had pedicures here twice. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. I agree with other reviewers' comments that you get a spa quality experience (complete with high-end teas and a silver platter of chocolate) for a very reasonable price. Why go anywhere else? Their Opi, Essie and Vinylux polishes are long wearing too. My daughter is a Fort Henry Guard and her polish withstood her marching up and down in army boots all day without chipping at all! They take walk ins but I recommend calling first or you may have a long wait. This spa is very popular!
