I went here to get my grad nails done, and to get my eyebrows waxed. Everything was done very quickly, and neither of the estheticians were friendly. I got a french manicure. The nail tech didn’t say a word to me after asking what I would like and I felt very awkward because of this the whole time. She seemed annoyed while shaping my nails (I rarely do anything to them so they needed a full shaping) and the tips were not as clean as I would have liked them, however it wasn’t very noticeable unless you were really looking at the nail. My brow wax left something to be desired as the brow tech seemed very cold and unfriendly, basically not talking to me at all, and leaving me with a rash under my brow right before my grad. The music there was banging though.

I'm going back home in a few days and this was the closest nail salon within walking distance from the university. So I wanted to get my nails done but honestly this was by far the worst nail job I've ever gotten. She didn't use proper tools nor fresh nail files they were all used. She cut my skin twice when cutting my nails. She didn't use the proper tip size for the acrylic nails and she didn't even shape them properly. You could tell she was in a rush because she was complaining about how she was supposed to be going home at that time and to call someone else to come fill in. I feel like I just wasted money and now have to pay to get them redone when I get home. I'm actually disappointed because I pick places based on ratings and this was a decent rating but my end result was simply horrible. My nails are crooked not even coffin shaped and she didn't even put my nails under the fan to dry so it smudged and is clumpy.

I thought I would give this place a try. I have not had good service. The first time I got nails, the lady was very rough, and my nails fell off in a week. I try not to judge so I went there a second time with my other friend. She had to go back and get her nails redone, then go back again because her nails were breaking and all they offered her was a gift certificate. I didn't go back because I didn't like the attitude the receptionist gave me. VERY RUDE. You don't want to work in customer service then get another job!

Always had great service here. Go for eyebrow threading and waxing. Never have to wait more than 5 or ten minutes. They do a great job. The front desk staff is friendly and personable. Bobby does such a thorough job, even combing them out and trimming the long crazy hairs. I highly recommend the Magic Room.

I got a manicure here the day before my wedding, and it was chipped before I even went to bed that same night. Also, and much worse, if you get a pedi here, DO NOT let them cut your cuticles!! I've been suffering from an ingrown toenail caused by an "over zealous" cuticle trimming since my last pedi there over 5 years ago. Haven't had a pedi since, and will NEVER return to this business. Wish I could give 0 stars!

This is one of my most favorite places to get my nails done after work! It's just a few blocks down and they are very professional greeting you at the front of the salon and sending you upstairs for a manicure or pedicure which are very well done. The pedicure is really nice and includes a stone massage and it's totally worth the money! I also recieved a few manicures and they really clean up your nails good! I love going to this salon it's one of my favorites I would recommend going for a bougie experience!

Had a Gehwol pedicure with paraffin treatment! This place does it right. Hot stones, paraffin boots and proper towel wraps. Legit best pedicure I have ever had in my life, and I've been to lots of fancy spas. Arlaine was magical. Highly recommend this spot. Will definitely be a spot I visit everytime I'm in the Peg.

Great salon, very bright, clean, lots of space and friendly staff. The master that done my nails was very efficient and not talkative, 1 hour for shellac including removing the old one. Second week, no chips yes, even though doing renovation, painting everyday/wet hands etc, which usually ruins polish very quick. Very pleased. Same, if not a bit lower prices than at smaller, dirty nail places that are on each strip mall. Was my first time there, definitely will come back.

Truly the most comfortable I have felt in a very long time getting my hair cut. Lovely, sweet and talented! I have an angled bob and have had hideous haircuts BUT Lori has cut my hair to perfection. I now have a hairdresser and can't say enough good things about Lori and the team at The Magic Room.

The facial was decent. I’ve had better, I’ve had worse. Pretty overpriced though, better places in Winnipeg like Myuz Artistry and for a way better price! Update: Mine and my boyfriend face is breaking out so bad. My boyfriend told his facialist his face concerns and she disregarded them and now he has painful bumps and a rash all over his face. My skin is also so dry and breaking out.

Called at 3:30. I was on hold for a just a couple minutes. They had plenty of spots available on a Friday night during Christmas season. I selected 5pm. Check-in was super quick and efficient. Appointment started right on time. Joty did an amazing job threading and tweezing (asked for both) my incredibly over grown super thick eyebrows (like a month of growth). She followed my natural brow line and checked in with me throughout. She made the process as painless as possible. Really knows her stuff! Also, she kept the length and thickness I wanted (see the photo I uploaded). They have earned my business. Thanks so much Joty, see you again!!!

Was really fast took like 5 minutes, asked to have my brows waxed, ended up getting them waxed and threaded, she used tweezers too which I liked but she didn’t use a spooly to brush my brow hairs when she trimmed them which I did not like and she didn’t measure of any kind or take off my makeup I had on before. But it was only 14$ so I’m not complaining allot if I was paying 20$ or more I would expect that quality work, I personally wouldn’t go there again for my eyebrows, but I’m glad I left and still had eyebrows✌????

Never going anywhere else - I've recommended this spa to everyone! Always such a nice experience and the staff is so professional yet always makes you feel like family. I've had my nails done (gels) here by the amazing Natasha! I let her know I was nervous of getting my nails done, as I had never gotten this before...she reassured me and took her time to make them perfect. Now I've only ever gone to this spa AND once my nail cracked within a week and they replaced it for free! Lasted till the end of the month. Seriously great experience and I plan to come back soon.

I have a bad habit of not leaving reviews. This time I have to. I don't understand why Magic Room Spa has such low rating. For a person like me who rely on reviews this place could easily be missed. I've been to not many but quite a few nail salons in Winnipeg. Magic room spa is by far the BEST downdown nail place I've ever been to. 1. They give me the LONGEST lasting shellac! 2. They have very friendly staff who I don't have to listen to a full long foreign conversation to. 3. A very professional environment without being intimidating. 4. Of course the best of all is the price. Tho I can only speak for the nail service since that's all I've done there so far. In my opinion, their services are very reasonably priced. Today was my first time got a liquid gel done in under $60 (depends on the choice of your polish and manicure is not included) To be honest 80, 90 bucks for liquid gel nail is the price I need to think twice. I've paid 80 some dollars before and nothing really extraordinary...(and it was still powder gel or acrylic?) The product not much different in my opinion. My nails were not particularly protected or destroyed. If anything what matters is the way how the nail technician treat your nails. The service ... I had two bad experiences the rest were fine. At Magic Room I had four ladies done my nails and I like them all. The last couple of times were with Natasha. I love how she's fast, efficient and very detail oriented. I would definitely recommend her. I've not done any designs at Magic Room yet. It's hard to find a place that does modern nail design... I've been to Posh on Osborne strictly for their designs because their service SUCKED! Judging by the new ownership and the polish collection I'm excited and looking forward to do some designs at Magic Room Spa. --- The End

New ownership seems to have done a lot for the Magic Room. After a few less than great experiences years ago, I decided to give them another chance as I live so close by. I went for the deluxe pedicure, and it was 10/10. The nail tech who did my appointment was friendly, thorough, and not once did I feel rushed. The room was not loud with obnoxious music playing like so many other salons. Everything was super clean, and the massage chairs were a great touch. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely look forward to coming back for pedicures and to try other services as well.

Horrible experience with apres nails. Entire process was excruciating. Not the normal “ little bit of warmth” during the curing process but abnormal burning sensation. Was told it was supposed to hurt. Results looked awful- thick nails, lots of glue residue underneath. Again, was advised that’s how they are supposed to look. Just a heads up to others considering this particular service.

Wish I could do negative 5 stars. Got the worst acrylic nails of my life and I've been getting them done at a chip shop for 8 years. Super thick, crooked, blotchy paint and jagged cuz they weren't filed enough and when I told the manager I wasn't happy she did not apologize or offer a discount only said they are very experienced and I will pay for them! Will never ever ever go there again it also cost me 25 dollars more than I'm used to. Horrible customer service and unsanitary as they used old files and did my nails over a towel that had clippings from the previous customer. Disgusting!!!

This is a horrible place with horrible service. I did my eye brows threading here. The artist was so unprofessional and my brows were completely ruined. One eye brow was too thin and another one was real thick with no shape at all. It took me weeks to fix my eye brows. Me and my friends never visited this place again.

I always get so many compliments on my nails! I get shellac on my natural nails and they last about 3 weeks -- no chips or break in the polish -- the only reason I need them redone is because my nails grow out! Really nice spa like feel -- not crowded and loud. Staff is all very friendly!

I've been going on and off for approximately 30 years. Less now since I don't work downtown so some things I go closer to home for convenience. When I want something done that I will only trust someone licensed, clean, know the staff.......I look no further than here. Besides the regular nails (shellacs & pedicures, waxing and lashes), I finally took the plunge and got Microblading!! Ladies.....be really prepared! It hurts something awful BUT the results are worth the minimal time you are having it done. Nina! You are awesome! I will some "touch-ups"m(included in price), prepared for what's to come but am looking forward to the results! Summer's around the corner and no pencils! Woohoo! It really is worth the pain and money. Magic Room Ladies......thank you for all the beautifying magic lol! Keep it up. Highly recommend. UPDATE: It's been 6 weeks and time for my touch-ups (included with purchase). It hurts just as much the second time lol but ladies......no pain, no gain! ???? It is worth every moment! Looks even better now. Healing was extremely quick. I purchased PRODUCT name, instead of just using coconut oil and that, I think, also made a huge difference in healing. I am thoroughly going to enjoy going out, swimming, sweating and not swiping away a brow accidentally lol! Again, Nina....Thank you for a wonderful job! As well as Erika, for her kindness and understanding. Due to some medical issues and work getting in the way (imagine that!) she honoured my over-due expiry date. It was greatly appreciated and won't be forgotten! A TEN again! Have been going here off and on for approx 30 years and they have never failed me! Thanks ladies!!

The Massages were great ~ Hot Stone Massage definitely recommend. For nails - absolutely not, go anywhere else if you want your nails to be healthy and done correctly! I booked in 2 Gel Manicure Sets, once we arrived two people were doing them completely different but I was charged the same price for both.. After a week the nails were lifting on one of us ( I am far from downtown so I went to a different place to get them fixed) - not only were the nails grinded down way to much, there was fungus underneath. It will take a few months to heal with prescribed cream and the nail beds are ruined. The front staff were not helpful and quite impolite when trying to get a hold of the manager/owner. Once we got ahold of the manager/owner it took quite a few email exchanges to get a refund for the one gel set as its "not their policy to refund" and that we chose to get it fixed somewhere else.... If you are going to spend the money for the experience and quality of the service, I personally don't think its worth what you pay here. The picture with the black sweater is what the Gel Manicures both should have been.

I use to love getting my brows done here when Sonia was working. She no longer works here and i gave the other girls several chances, but they continue to disappoint me. They dont pay attention to the little details and my brows are uneven. I would'nt recommend getting your brows done here anymore.

I booked very last minute with the Magic Room Spa and they were still able to fit me in for a facial and a classic pedicure. I arrived and had my first ever facial with Leanne. I booked a Bespoke Clinical facial. I informed Leanne it was my first facial and she was sure to check in with me periodically regarding pressure and feeling of products. Leanne was very professional and made sure to answer all of my questions and advice me of products for skin concerns I identified but wasn’t pushy regarding the products they use. It was great. Following this Natasha did my pedicure and was understanding of my ticklish feet. She was cute soya, quick and did a wonderful job. The only stressful part was parking because of the limits of time. Other than that it was great and I will definitely be back
