I'm from Winnipeg but I love staycations so I'm familiar with lots of hotels in the downtown area. Every time I have stayed at the Fort Gary they have exceeded my expectations. Most recently I stayed here on Valentine's weekend and we were again, very impressed. The person who checked us in was very friendly and efficient. Then a woman named Kathy made us feel very welcome. She was so kind and very nice to talk to. We then had massages at 10 spa. 95% of the staff there were absolutely wonderful and helpful. And the massages were fabulous. Definitely recommend the Fort Gary as the number one hotel in Winnipeg. Well done staff and we will see you again soon!

I called the hotel to make a reservation. The person told me i had to call the reservation system because she couldn't book me in. Apparently, the hotel is part of a new reservation system and it is someone in a call centre somewhere else. The connection was terrible and the person difficult to understand. The hotel was fully booked for the night I was looking for (not his fault), but they no longer will put you on a waiting list in case someone cancels. He just kept trying to get me to book at a different hotel. When it was all over I thought he asked if I wanted to do a survey. I said yes and he transferred me to a person who was trying to sell me a vacation somewhere. All in all, a terrible experience.

If you are staying in winnipeg you NEED to stay at the Fort Garry. We had an exceptional stay. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Thank you Jennifer for the wonderful stay!

The Fort Garry Hotel is situated in prime location in close proximity to many Winnipeg attractions. The building is historical and absolutely gorgeous. I can attest to delicious food, a dazzling atmosphere and wonderful music at the restaurant. Additionally, my brother and his wife had some issues with another hotel for their anniversary and The Fort Garry hotel went above and beyond to accommodate them on short notice. I feel like Cathy especially, and the rest of the staff made their day so special. Their room is beautiful and clean with a great view. And you can’t beat a staff who cares the way they do at Fort Garry. Looking forward to booking again very very soon.

We got wedding package #1 and had the whole 7th floor which included a king suit with late check out, complimentary breakfast for 2. Valet parking for 2 was completely disappointed. Alot of things happened on our special day that were very disappointing for Adrianna and myself. The microphone that you supplied kept cutting out during the ceremony, one of the biggest parts of the day. The dinner was extremely undercooked, alot of the guests plates were literally floating with blood from the meat. Some tables never even got vegetables served and there was a mixup with the kids meals. When i went to check into the king suit front desk wanted a credit card. I don't understand why they would want that when the room was supposed to be part of the package. When I inquired about what time the late check out was i was told we didn't get one. I asked about the complimentary breakfast for the room and was once again denied by the front desk. Adrianna and I went up to the room expecting an actual suit and got one of the smallest rooms out of all of our guest that checked into the hotel. When i talked to the lady working at our venue she was able to get us our complimentary breakfasts but i shouldn't have had to run around on our special night to try and complain about things that should have already been taken care of. Went to check out of the hotel this morning and the gentleman working told me i owed them $18.00 for parking! I told him our package included valet parking for 2 vehicles. I understand valet is shut down due to covid but we discussed parking would be free. Unreal then the guy working decided to get smart with me. I kept my cool thru out this who ordeal but that was the last straw. This was the email that i sent 2 days ago and I still haven't gotten a response. Absolutely disappointing.

False advertising, tried to charge us for more than agreed on in our ballroom and had to wait 3.5 hours for it to be done when it should’ve been done upon arrival, and then they attempted to kick us out before the proper amount of time we booked it for. 0/10 hotel.
