I got highlights done i paid 200$ for afew blond chunks there was literally no hair dyed in the back. So i go back and get more highlights just have my hair fried to a crisp and the stylist was so rude yelling in my face. Very unprofessional and im not happy i gotta go pay someone else to to treatment on my hair

I went to see Jessica at KP. My first time seeing a hair stylist as I’ve always heard negative stories from people that have been to other hair stylists. Jessica was direct and told me what I wanted would be a process over a few appointments. She gave me my price upfront and explained everything as it was happening. We clicked and enjoyed chatting the entire time. She is AMAZING and took away any fear I ever had. The price was beyond fair for the work she did and I walked away happy. I will never let myself or anyone else touch my hair!! Thank you Aura for having such an awesome person on your team!!!

After 20 years of being a customer I will not go back!. I have seen many come and go even a few awesome stylists I had. I went in on April 13 my regular stylists were gone one left other on mat leave upon making my apt I asked who is good at doing bobs and a 2 colour dye described what I wanted. I was recommended one. I also asked the price I was told similar to my regular hairdresser I budgeted $150. As my hair ain’t long I never had paid more then $130 I get my hair done few times a year. Upon coming in I showed the hairdresser a picture of what I wanted she said ok! When the bleach was put in my neck burned a bit so a towel was put on. After colour was put on and the cut was coming I noticed very little was cut, I was asked if I wear my hair up I said no. I like the shorter bob as it’s easy to do. After i was styled I noticed it longer asked was told with purple on back looks good. Way she styled it it looked ok. Upon paying I was shocked it was over $200 paid went on my way as I don’t like to get in a confrontation!. I was upset it was well over what I was quoted. Upon coming home my hair felt odd at the back I felt it the purple was not properly washed out so I had to wash it as colour was left in not properly washed. my neck was burning as well where bleach was I couldn’t see because I was stained so bad from the dye my entire neck and ears were a dark purple. Next day my hair looked like it did when I walked in not the bob I asked and paid for. I ended up going to another salon today to get my hair re-done, they found a chemical burn on my neck as the purple finally wore off, caused by the bleach that was put on me. After going to see a doctor right after it was confirmed bad reaction due to bleach being left on my skin i was prescribed medicated cream to heal it. Not amused. Now I know why my neck has been itchy and sore since going. The New salon I went to also noticed colour was inconsistent making it hard to fix the cut which was just a thin out I didn’t ask for. Nothing like the pictures I showed and asked for. Definitely not worth $200. I will never go back stick to my new salon as they Managed to fix it I got the bob I wanted. I need to go in again get colour re done so it’s even and consistent. Half price!. I also asked for a receipt of what was done I was told it was in the bag upon coming home only debit receipt was in there the one a saw in the girls hand was not put in there. I’m now wondering if reason I didn’t get a hair cut or print out of services receipt because they knew what they didn’t do, my hair covered the burn and excessive dye stain, and knew I would complain. I got charged for a haircut that didn’t happen I got charged for extra colour that was already in the price I got a burn to my neck due to bleach/dye being left on my skin and not properly washed off I had to pay for medical treatment as a result and another salon to cut and fix my hair Really sad when you Spend this kind of cash people don’t notice you been to a salon think you dyed your own hair.

Literally everyone is so nice here, and I’m so disappointed to say I had a bad experience. I’ve never had this one older women, and I got her. She brushed my hair so hard, almost out of my head. She didn’t try to put effort into my hair. I’m glad I didn’t have a more serious cut, or my hair would’ve been :????

Went to get my hair platinum blonde / silver but compromised to not use bleach because my hair is already very blonde. Spent what felt like countless hours for what turned out to be a dull muddy orange tinted brown head of hair. Worst colour I could have ever imagined and was way darker than my hair before. On the plus side, it made me appreciate how beautiful my natural hair colour was before it was dyed. All in all terrible service. Never returning. Don’t waste your time or money here. Please hairdressers: If you know the outcome will look NOTHING like the picture just say you can’t do it. ????

I recently had a horrible experience and I will never go back. This is not my usual salon but it was my only day off of work for a couple of weeks and I desperately needed a haircut, my regular stylist was not available so I thought I would just go to the mall as it is close. As soon as I sat down the lady was commenting on my colour and basically saying my stylist is messing up, I proceeded to tell her that I just graduated from university and did not have the money to get it redyed just yet. My hair has faded and grown out a lot since my last colour. She explained that I'm using the wrong products and told me to tell my stylist what she should do next. I love my stylist and we have a plan for my hair. The point is, I felt uncomfortable as soon as I sat down but did not want to cause a scene by leaving, Also, the cut is not very good, its quite short, my only request was that I could still put it up and I can't. It is uneven & she chopped my bangs off & I specifically asked her not to.( they don't even fit behind my ear anymore) My suggestion to everyone is to skip this place and go to the next!

Got my hair cut at Aura, didn't clean up on my neck below the collar " long hairs visable", didnt even out the back of my neck, it was angled, dark hair spots all over my head due to lack of proper shaving technique with a number 1 & 2 clip. Can I not give no stars.

DO NOT COME HERE. WORST HAIRCUT EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. The person cutting my hair should not have been doing so with the training they had. THE CUT TOOK 1 HIUR AND 3 PEOPLE. They tried to send me on my way after butchering my hair. After asking for someone else to take a look it took ANOTHER 30 MINUTES and 2 other people to fix what they had done. The original stylist had no clue what they were doing. At one point I looked like Krusty the Clown because they had started to shave the sides of my head in the middle rather than the bottom. They then left me like this while they went to get something. We are talking hilariously bad. I repeat. Unless you know who's cutting your hair, DO NOT COME HERE for a walk-in haircut. You'll regret it.

This salon has no desire to please their customers at all. I took my 12 year old daughter for a haircut, let the hairdresser know that she wanted something drastic but still needed to put it up for dance. She cut an inch off. I asked my daughter if she liked it and she said it was fine but when we got home she said she wanted it shorter. She is young and didn't feel comfortable saying anything in front of the girls in the salon. I called the next day and they got her in and then charged for a second haircut. I couldn't understand why seeing as I had just paid yesterday. She just kept stating that she was sorry she had to charge as per her boss. I called 2 other local salons out of curiosity and asked what they would do if that happened to them. They both said they would have done it at no charge as she was just in the day before and she wasn't happy. They want the customer to come back.

My hairstylist in Kildonan Place lied to me at my recent visit. Coaxed me into getting a different hairstyle that I didn't want. Made me sign a waiver form when I already dyed my hair since grade 5 (26 now). She did the same hairstyle on the girl before me so that's why she probably did it to me. Do I love it? No. She never talked to me even when I tried to talk to her. And tried to sell me a litre of conditioner for my hair. I went for shampoo. So not worth the $190. Did I get asked the covid questions? No. The ONLY reason why it's getting a 2 star and not a 1 is because the place was clean.

I went in Tuesday to get a bob hair cut showed a couple pictures of what I was wanting for a hair cut to the girl who was going to be cutting my hair. Half way through cutting it she indicated she doesnt do bob cuts. At the point I should of got up and left. She kept asking if this was what I wanted and if I wanted it shorter. I kept saying what I wanted but ended up with not the type of style I wanted or had shown in pictures. After sitting for over an hour I would of at least excepted a cut I would of been happy with. I went home and noticed the cut is uneven in the back and isn’t straight, I have uneven sides in the front as they are different lengths as well I have parts that are longer in spots than others so makes it all uneven and not a great cut. I now had to phone another salon to make another appointment so that they would be able to cut and restyle my hair to the bob haircut I wanted in the first place! Very dissatisfied and won’t be coming back again! I let my family and friends know about this experience as well

Terrible went there yesterday to get highlights and the girl who did my hair totally messed it up I was so upset even crying and she was standing there smirking at me the whole time so unprofessional !!! I had left and never paid for it at all left to the other location at polo park and they totally fixed it up and even they said there that it was done very sloppy and even the bleach and bled couple parts all in all thanks to the ladies at aura at polo and as for this place I igjogly remained that you go elsewhere and reccomend the aura in polo !!

I was booked with a specific stylist and waited 45 minutes but ended up being switched to Grace! Grace was wonderful she was professional I had some concerns and I let her see a picture and she did her own thing, thinned, put in some layers, shortend and it turned out amazing! 44 years in the industry i believe she told me! I'm very happy with the outcome definitely go see grace! Would give her 10/10! Thank you for a good experience!

Worst hair cut and customer service i have ever had... The hair dresser was rude and did not understand what i want, also gave me alot of attitude... The hair cut was bad and uneven and alot of hair was missed behind the ears and in the back of the neck. And the hair wash was very uncomfortable because her underarms were in my face. I usually go to the St. Vital location which has amazing service but because i was in the area i decited to try KP. NEVER AGAIN! And would not recommend to anyone....

From start to finish it was a horrible experience. I walked in to book a trim for my birthday . The girl behind the counter didn’t greet me. I stood for a few minutes assuming she was just busy. Finally I said hello , her response was dry. Like I was irritating her just by being there. Painfully went through booking an appt and when I got in to my appointment I was informed that the stylist that was supposed to be helping me “ backed out “. I felt so embarrassed being there at this point. I waited about 10 minutes to see if my appointment was cancelled or if someone else would cut my hair. A guy ended up doing my cut. All i had asked for was a bit of a trim. He cut off at least 5 inches , I didn’t want it short. It took over an hour and a half for this trim. I’m home now and it’s choppy, uneven , and the bottom is so thick it just curls out. I will absolutely never go to this place or recommend this place to anyone. Would give zero stars if I could.

The woman had over processed my hair, cut my scalp (which had bleach on it) with a sharp hair pin and then lectured me for jerking away in pain. I asked her to trim my undercut and she had shaved off a lot of hair that hadnt been originally shaved. I paid 220 dollars for it.

Meh. I got a haircut here since I was getting really frustrated with my hair and I didn't want to book an appointment anywhere. They allow walk-ins so at least that's a plus. The haircut seemed rushed and the lady who did my hair didn't seem to know what she was doing. Another hairstylist even came up to her to ask her what she was doing because I guess she has never seen that technique before. I wont come back here as I thought it was pricy for the quality of service I got.

I travel 6 hours multiple times a year to Winnipeg to have my hair done and will continue to be a loyal customer to her. Not only is she a master colourist and stylist, she is also extremely passionate and charismatic. 10/10 experience with her every time!

If I had an option of NO STARS, I would give it no stars. I have nothing against the stylist, but she was clearly new and inexperienced. I had 3-4 distinct pictures of what I wanted (an ANGLED bob, preferring to keep some of the length--as I spent over a year growing it out). She starting to cut my hair DRY. Another stylist recommended to get a proper angle, to cut it wet. She sprayed my hair and continued cutting my "angled" bob completely straight and with no shape, dimensions, thinning, NOTHING. I am extremely upset with how it turned out, it looks NOTHING like the pictures-- in fact, it looks like a helmet on my head. Upset with the outcome, I called the store asking for the manager and what they could do for me (as I lost ALL my length) the clerk left a message for the manager to call me back later that afternoon. When the end of the day came (4 hours after my initial call) I called again, finding out not only did he FORGET to call me back, but he WENT HOME. I then asked her to contact the manager and call me at home before 5:00 (within half an hour), it is currently 5:30 with no call. I clearly won't have my issue resolved before I am forced to go to work with a hat on my head and no idea when or how this issue will be resolved.

I ended up having to rush towards the end due to an unexpected overlapping appointment and the stylist was very accommodating while not compromising the job. Went in asking for a pretty simple haircut, complete with pictures showing multiple angles of the same example. Short in the back, long bangs. Simple. Somehow, the lady they gave me managed to mess it up. She was stubborn, talked over me, and chopped off my bangs at nearly a 45 degree angle, despite me saying 4 times not to. She wouldn't listen. After making the first cut, she kept repeating that it was too late to change my mind. Even before mangling my bangs. Not to mention the sides are uneven by a good half-inch. There's no length left to work with and it looks nothing like the pictures I showed. A terrible, near traumatizing experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone who cares at all about their appearance. This place looked professional enough to trust but I was horribly wrong. Avoid like Magicuts.

Worst experinence I have ever had. The Stylist didn't use a smock to wash my hair.. I was getting wet and had to request one. She got angry with me. I had asked for a shorter in the front hair cut and I ended up with a hair cut that looks like some used a bowl to cut my hair. It is not styled. I did ask her to feather it and again style it she got upset and told my it was her job to know what was to be done. I paid 48 for a horrible experience and I was treated with disrespect. DO NOT GO THERE!! This is where the beauty school drop outs end up.

I really appreciate and would like to Recommend Vera as a hair stylist there, She does an excellent job at Styling and cutting my hair and is very professional and courteous. I have been going to Aura for a long time now but, I was not happy with the service this time. The hair cut was not what I wanted and the greeting was not friendly. Costs a lot to get a hair cut and not get what you want.

Saw Chantel, went in to have my roots bleached and toned. The rest of my hair was blonde my dark roots were about 2 inches long. I spent 3 hours there and spent $220 and all I wanted was for my dark roots to match the rest of the blonde in my hair. Needless to say I’m still waiting for blonde in my hair. She used way too much toner and turned my hair brown and she told me the blonde will come when all the toner rinses out. It’s been 2 months and I still don’t have blonde hair. This is the second time I’ve been here and the second time they screwed up on my hair. The only apology I got was a card for a free hair cut. Like I’m gonna trust her with scissors around my hair when she can’t even get the color right. Beware if you choose to go there.

I look at the negative reviews here and all I can say is every hairdresser has different abilities with cutting hair to colouring hair. What I do know is that Nima is the best hairdresser i have found in years and will follow her were ever she goes, so Aura hold onto her she is fantastic :)

A word of advice to your stylists: If you can't/won't do my hair like I am asking, please save both our time and my money and say no. I walked in with light blonde hair. It was all one colour and I wanted it broken up with highlights and toned. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted, something I knew could be achieved because it has been on multiple occasions. I asked that she either dye my whole head a dark blonde and then add a lot of light blonde highlights, or leave it be and add both dark blonde and light blonde highlights and then tone it all over. This concept seemed totally foreign to her and she kept going back and forth between me and her manager. She came back and told me that she was going to dye it dark blonde all over with no highlights and I said no, I don't want it to be one solid colour. Then she told me she was only going to highlight just my roots, and I said no I want full highlights. She told me that she couldn't do that because there would be breakage in the ends and I told her that I didn't mind if there was breakage in the ends, that I was willing to go shorter. Finally after arguing for a good chunk of time, her repeatedly telling me different things that she was going to do, and me repeatedly telling her that no, I wanted what I wanted, she seemingly agreed. She went off to mix the colour and by that point, I didn't even want her to do my hair. I did not trust her and I wanted to leave, but I didn't want to make a scene so I sat there. It took her 20 minutes to mix the colour and come back, and when she finally did, she proceeded to do exactly what I had told her not to do. And then to top it all off, near the end of it, she suggested that she tone it like it had been her idea all along. It is not at all what I wanted. It is 2 levels darker and only my roots are highlighted. It is also nowhere near an ash. She also warned me against heat products then attempted to straighten my already naturally pin straight hair, and acted offended when I said that I did not want my hair styled. On top of all this, my visit cost me 60$ more than I have paid for the exact same (and more) process at other salons, including high end salons that are not mall chains.

Rheanna has been doing my hair for almost 7 years now. she is the ABSOLUTE BEST. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair but her. i highly recommend her. she has a great personality and will 100% make your day brighter and your hair fab.
