We are on our last night of a 3 night stay. It was not what we expected, but let's start with the good. The bedroom in the Kitchen Suite was comfortable and updated. The bathroom and kitchen had also been updated not too long ago. The TVs were a nice size. Now for the rest. The couch and chair in the living room were quite uncomfortable as you sink way down in them. They also had some stains on them. The "cozy" fireplace only had an On/Off switch. The flame was feeble and it made an annoying hissing sound when turned on. However, by far the worst was the equipment in the kitchen. We paid extra to get the Kitchen Suite for our 3 night stay as a) we like to save some money by not having to eat out all of the time; and b) we enjoy cooking. Choosing the Kitchen Suite was a waste of money for us. No baking dishes (unless you want to count the tiny broiling pan from the oven, wrapped in tinfoil. What's up with that?). The pots were poor quality with loose handles. And they were dirty. One cheap, flimsy knife. I had to use the knife in my multitool to cut yams as it was impossible with the one provided. Have you ever tried to slice yams with a multitool knife? Not fun. And to top it all off, disposable plates and eating utensils. That was very disappointing. In a place known for its nature and natural environment to find a hotel advertising a kitchen that then provides you with disposable plates and utensils? Also on the environmental side, the coffee machine was a Keurig, another terrible choice. One final note, during the 3 days we have been here, Housekeeping has never once asked us if we wanted anything done to our room. For a stay this short, we usually do not ask that our towels and bedding be replaced, but it would have been nice to have some vacuuming done at the very least. We love Jasper and come here as much as we can. But this will be the last time we choose Marmot Lodge.
