I asked for a trim and to have the weight taken out of my rather thick hair. I also told my stylist I was going to a wedding and wanted it styled suitably. I received a very quick trim, no weight taken out (which would have been nice considering the heat) and best of all i left with wet hair after having the "devacurl" product used on my not curly hair. The product left my hair feeling awful and I had to re-do my hair for the evening. I honestly think my stylist was lazy and just trying to push products and get me out of there for her next client.

Absoutely the worst haircut I have received. Even after I told the stylist Chelle why I have received bad hair cuts she went ahead and did everything she just heard! My highlights were placed incorrectly and the owner who we were seated next to watch on ended up having all sorts of tiger stripes. Never toned it so now I have to do it myself and the cut? I asked for a simple layered elevated bob. I showed two pictures. This is the normal cut I get. I can't even style it to hide all her mistakes and I am now a retired stylist but have been cutting hair for over 22 years! She never even used styling products on my hair and used thinning shears to texture...lol I can't fix it without going shorter. I wish I had an ability to post pictures because it is pretty bad. Never going back and I have already posted not to go here in my media site.

I had my appointment with Kerry. My expectations of a great cut and experience based on the reviews I read were unfortunately unmet. She was helpful with providing some tips about caring for my hair after the dramatic texture change in my curls postpartum; however, her service was poor. She had left me in the seat for my hair to dry after a deva-cut under one of the heat fans. She seemingly had forgotten about me as she tended to another client. Another woman who was busy sweeping the hair after haircuts noticed that I was waiting for a long time, approached me and finished up the job that Kerry never finished. Numerous times, this staff tried to get Kerry's attention gently but Kerry seemed oblivious as she occupied herself with the other client. When she finally noticed me, she showed me the back of the hair and off I went. The cut was anything but remarkable, the front was slightly uneven with one side longer, and she had put so much product in my hair that my hair was feeling gross after a few hours. I considered calling in the morning to have the slight mistake fixed but because my experience with Kerry was so poor I decided to go elsewhere. The uplifting part of the experience was the welcoming atmosphere created by the friendliness of the other staff and the great location.

I really like the experience at Hush Salon. The venue is located downtown but there is free parking available. The cleaning procedures are easy to see and the staff friendly. Both Kerry and Chelle are lovely and do a great cut. Bang trims are free for returning clients!

I went to Jodi for help after my hair was extremely damaged from colour. I was also unhappy with my cut. It lacked shape or texture. My hair is fine and tends to look very stringy if it is not cut properly. I left Hush Salon extremely happy. Jodi did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend Jodi for colour or a cut. I got my hair done here, blonde highlights full head. The price is on par with other salons it was about $200 for long hair but the quality of the highlight was far superior to other salons. The owner did a fantastic job. If you're struggling to pay for your hair dying this is the place you want to go because you will get the best bang for your buck. My hair has grown out a lot now but honestly looks like a balayage because of the quality work she did for me. I won't be able to afford to go again for a while but I highly recommend this place. I felt bad I couldn't leave a tip on-top of the price at the time but will be sure to spread the good word about her work.

Today was my first experience with Diva Curls cut and treatment and I'm happier with my curls than I've been in a long time. Kerry did an amazing job and provided lots of guidance on how to care for my curls. Easy advice to take because her own curls are stunning! Everyone was very pleasant. It was a wonderful early Christmas present from me to me!

This was my first visit and I have curly hair. I had a dry cut, then wash and style. Michelle is an expert on cutting and styling curly hair! I was nervous but she explained everything to me and made me feel totally comfortable with what she was doing. I would recommend for the owner to stick to back of house and retire from front house, worst customer service experiance I've ever had at a salon in Guelph. I actually cried when i went home from the owner telling me i had the worst hair she has seen in 10 years of her experience in the industry. I would have probably worded that differently as someone who works in the beauty industry. Thanks but no thanks Ill for sure go to another salon next time and won't recommend this salon to friends.

I’m recently had my first hair cut with Michelle and I am very pleased with my hair. I have curly hair and it is very nerve racking trying a new hair stylist ( I have had the same one for 15 years). She showed me how to take care of my hair and the way my hair was cut was so perfect and my hair looks amazing. Also all the staff were very friendly and made me feel very comfortable! I highly recommend this place.

Michelle is a wax goddess. I went elsewhere downtown… they were so awkward and just all around an awful experience despite their good reviews. Michelle is relaxed, experienced, makes good conversation, and doesn’t make you feel awkward at all especially if you’re getting a Brazilian or other more intimate-area wax. I will say I’ve only gone elsewhere because she gets really booked up in the summer and I procrastinate my appointment booking. She’s worth waiting for!

Today I had my first hair appointment with Hush Salon and Spa. I got the Deva Cut & Style. Kerry did my hair. She was very gentle despite the tangles I had. She took the time to detangle my hair with her fingers. Kerry also applied some Deva Curl products that I have never tried before. Now that my hair is dry, I can feel that my hair is getting less dehydrated after one hair wash. I’m so impressed by Kerry’s skills and cutting curly hair isn’t easy. Her personal experience with curly hair is also valuable. Thank you Kerry! I can’t wait for another hair cut.

Ridiculous customer service. Waited for two months for an appointment to only arrive and realize they cancelled it. Apparently the day before they called a wrong number and since didn’t get a response (surprise) gave it away to someone else. Zero willingness to compromise nor give me any appointment in the foreseeable future. They've added me to a waiting list, but I didn't get a single call for 6 weeks since.

This place is amazing. Greeted with a warm welcome and kindness the moment you walk in. Offered a coffee tea or water. Nice seating if you have to wait. Lots of good reading materials and they also have free wifi. Michelle the hairstylist is incredibly good. Good with kids and adults. Michelle the esthetician is excellent too. All around great place. Prices are a little high, but if you can afford it, its 100% worth it.

Thanks Kerry for the fantastic haircut! It had been 10 months since my last haircut due to Covid and I love my new hair and feel amazing! I was visiting Guelph and searching for curly hair specialists. Hush has two stylists that are DevaCurl certified. They were both booked for months out, but I managed to get an appt when Kerry had a cancellation. She was professional and friendly and gave me a perfect haircut. I used to go to Devachan in New York City and Kerry's haircut is 100% on par with the services I received there. If you're a curly girl, it is worth the drive to Guelph to see Kerry.

Fabulous! They are very competent and friendly. If you have a hair issue they can definitely help you. They provide free consultations and are reasonably priced for the quality of service they provide. The atmosphere is relaxing. The salon is immaculate. Stylists, staff and owner are all really patient, friendly, and helpful. My results were stellar and I still get compliments over a month later. There is free parking in the back. I would highly recommend them.

I booked an appointment at Hush with Michelle, but someone named Chelle ended up cutting my hair. I showed her a couple of pictures, but the cut ended up looking nothing like what I had wanted. She also sprayed a lot of product in my hair, so much so that my hair was literally oozing with curl spray and hairspray. The experience was made worse by the fact that she spent a large part of the cut coughing on me. I would never go back there for a cut because I could end up with Chelle again even if I ask for Michelle.

I was very disappointed with my experience here. I came on a recommendation from someone else. When I arrived, I was promptly greeted and had a lovely conversation with the person at the front desk. She was very professional and personable. I waited 25 minutes after my appointment to see the person I was scheduled with. There were no seats, which, if due to COVID, I understand. If I knew it would have taken that long, I would have just went and sat in my car - but I was told it would just be a few more minutes. The person I had was rude right from the beginning. It certainly felt like I had ruined her day by coming in. I should note, the hair wash, cut and blowdry only took 15 minutes. I showed a picture of what I wanted, she showed me how much she would cut, I said that it would be too short, we agreed on an adjusted length. She then, picked up my hair, cut a whole chunk off (well above where I was asking it to be cut), and asked if it was okay. I said it was really short, and she responded, "I can't put it back on". She cut the rest of my hair to match that length. Then, I asked if I could have layers and have my hair 'thinned out', as that's what my last place would do and I enjoyed the look. She said no to both. I asked again to have my hair thinned, as it is very think and frustrating to style, and she said that I just need to put more time into styling my hair. Needless to say, after being taken in 25 minutes after my appointment, and then rushed out less than 20 minutes later with a cut I hated, and charged 75 dollars, I was not satisfied. When I got home and examined my hair further, I noticed the back of my hair was cut on a slant, and that the front of my hair was not level. I called in and was able to get in with another salon to fix the mistakes. I called the salon, left two different messages - and no response. I hope that maybe I just caught that woman on an off-day, and I was just the unlucky customer. I see many good reviews, so maybe I was the exception. Regardless, I enjoyed the other salon I went to and will definitely go back there again.
