Beautiful location surrounded by nature????

Amazing place but poor customer service. I have been trying to reach them from last week to book a reservation but they disconnect the call after sometime , no replies on voicemail and emails.

Kevin Corcoran

Enjoy the outdoor spa amazing experience! Recommend it definitely.

Audrey Hubin

Very clean and the service was so good and welcoming. The facilities were clean and not crowded so you can have your space and enjoy the view and the experience.

I have been going to Balnea for over 3 years but if they don't change the course of their business right now, today will have definitely been the last occurence. Like many businesses, they decided to commit the cardinal sin of raising prices while cutting corners and trying to cram even more customers into their location, making the perceived value tumble down. For $400+, I was expecting a much better service and access to the facilities. Unfortunately, it felt more crammed than the Shanghai metro during rush hour! Impossible to get a spot in a sauna unless you go around the whole facilities finding the one small space. Same story when it came to finding a place to "rest and unwind". All the seats and lounge chairs were taken all over the place. It was impossible to find a calm place to simply read and enjoy the view. I've had better luck finding a parking spot at a big box store during boxing day! The overcrowding of the facilities results in a very frustrating experience which is the opposite of what I aim for when going for a relaxing day. On top of that, you can tell the place is ageing and has lost a lot of its luster from the previous years. Broken tile and stone, dirty showers with terrible pressure... To add insult to injury, the staff was rather apathetic when I voiced my concerns - really makes you feel like you got scammed. There are a lot of fantastic spas near Montreal and this used to be one of them. Unfortunately for now, I will avoid it.

Negar Haghighat

Great place, nice landscape, a lot of pools and saunas. Nice restaurant too with tasty dishes and affordable prices. Showers could be updated to fit the quality of the place.

Worst spa I have ever been to. Reception employees are judgemental, doesn't listen to what the clients are saying, even the on-site supervisor was demeaning. Plus she made us look like horrible people because we gently (we repeated multiple times than we weren't trying to make drama or anything, we were just disappointed) asked if a refund for the evening was possible (we bought our tickets online) since it was supposed to be SILENCE ONLY (we were repeated this information many times). The "supervisor" yelled "okay so my employee told me you wanted a refund because it is silence on the site". We simply said that we didn't know since it wasn't written anywhere that COMPLETE SILENCE was mandatory. She replied " well it's written on your tickets ", we responded "no it is not", she took my phone and looked on the ticket : no silence info whatsoever. Ashamed by the looks of other clients we explained that it was because we were used to spas were you can whisper / chatter at a very low volume. She looked at us and said, "You are used to spas ? Right." So for a first time, the first 10 minutes were hell. But it doesn't stop there ! The supposedly quiet Moroccan spot (beds to cuddle). Oh god. Worst place to relax. The music playing in the speakers isn't relaxing at all, we hear every step that the clients upstairs are making, SOMEBODY farted twice right next to our booth !! The spa waters have wayyyy more chemicals than any other spas, do not splash water on your face, it burns. Just to make a visual : habitually we stay 4hours at the spa resort. We didn't even make 2 full hours. It was really an horrible experience. I really don't recommend this resort. Worst 115$ spent.

Parisa Moslehi

pros: great facilities. Well maintained. Visited many times and keep comin back. cons: impossible to reach. It's been over two weeks and 4 voice messages left. Forced to change a preferred SPA, unfortunately.

This place makes you feel at peace ! nice service and well located! a relaxation for so little effort.

Keila Penner

This place never disappoints ! The location is the best for all spas in a 1 hour radius of Montreal. They have a large deck on the lake with floating mattresses on the lake, sooo relaxing. …

A really nice spa in a gorgeous setting, especially nice during warmer months. They have lots of different baths and saunas to enjoy, both outdoors and indoors. The service is good with many attendants around ready to help. It’s very clean, except the men’s locker room is a bit small and can get crowded.

Yana Savchenko

Place was booked to capacity. Even though we had purchased tickets upfront, we were given a single locker outside of dressing room, which means we had to carry clothes in halls. Locker were too small to accommodate for jackets, shoes and clothes. Our locker was also not working. An employee tried to fix it, took 15 minutes for him to come back after which we were told to go back to reception and were given attitude by employee for complaining for 'lockers'. Place was overpacked, noisy and crowded. The anti thesis of relaxation. On top, there were no parking available and we had to park on the side of the road, which should have been a clear hint for us that this was overcrowded. There were no vaccination passport enforced, just a simple discharge to sign. With that amount of people in crowded area, locker rooms and corridors, it didn't feel safe at all. People in locker room didn't have masks on. All to say: attitude from staff, no lockers available, overcrowded, noisy and possibly the worst experience I had in recent months. Definitely will not go back there.

Loren Hernandez

I love this spa but I was surprised to see they aren’t asking for the vaccine passport (only for the restaurant). Around lunch hour the spa is clearly overbooked, the locker rooms crowded and the steam rooms/saunas are very small closed spaces - not ideal for keeping Covid from spreading…

Place is great. Needs a waiting room for wheb you wait for your significant other to get changed hahah.

Ashik Mahbub

Great environnement to relax!! Good food at their restaurant. Would definitely recommend for a couple.

Moogy Taktik

The overall experience is very pleasant and relaxing. I went in the evening and there were still some restrictions on how many people per outdoor pool, and they were often full, which was unpleasant in the cold rain. But after 7 pm it did get a lot better and it was also because the section near the lake was closed in the evening (during the day it's better and people are more spread out). The restaurant is always excellent. Very decently priced and always a tasty and original experience, with great wine pairing suggestions. I also appreciate the variety of areas to relax and the calm, quiet atmosphere. Felt very COVID safe too.

Eileen Corbeil

Nice place I enjoyed the spa and Massage.

I have been to spas all around the world, and Balnea ranks in the top three without contest. The property is beautiful, and it's so lovely that it's nice and secluded. Everything was well kept and the staff was lovely. We did a SUP Yoga class which was so much fun and totally non-judgemental. After that we spent the day in various pools and relaxation rooms. There was lots of space, and it was surprisingly not that busy for a Sunday. Thank you for providing awesome robes and unlimited towels, AND reusable water bottles for people who forgot their own. Genius! We also had lunch at the restaurant on site, which was delicious! The cauliflower is a must, along with the salmon toast dish. Things that could be improved: - The check-in process took a pretty long time, I'd say about 15 minutes. We had e-tickets but they couldn't look us up in their system so the front desk person needed to write out all of the confirmation numbers by hand. - They promoted the SUP yoga as a class that was offered by the spa, but when I called to reserve (and mentioned multiple times) that we would like to do the SUP yoga I was told we were booked in. I called to confirm a day before and was told we needed to book on Eventbrite... this was the first time someone told me we needed to do that. So, overall the only thing that I think needs improvement is the admin/customer service pre-experience. Other then that the place is fantastic.

Beautiful location, more so in the summer when you can swim in the lake and take the mattresses out to the middle where it’s even more peaceful. Views are amazing, the restaurant was delicious. Really very little I can say to fault them and it’s a spot I always take guests. My only thing is online/website info is not always up to date, we’ve been caught out when there’s been an event and we couldn’t stay for longer than an hour and a half. This is quite inconvenient if you’ve driven from Montreal, and we could have gone earlier if we’d known but there was no indication on the website or google that this was taking place therefore I would always recommend calling ahead and finding out if they have any events, after all the place is so gorgeous you want to spend as much time there as possible.

This place is beautiful. Was a truly wonderful experience. Seems to be a lot of couples, can be a little weird sometimes. Your supposed to be quiet, as in not talking the whole time. That was kinda hard for us as we wanted to chat quietly and relax. Nice that its only adults. I 100% recommend this place.

Josh Beltran

Went there for a relaxing night at the spa with my boyfriend and it was not relaxing at all, rather a headache and wanted to leave. * Note that you can not whisper quietly while in the pools or even say one word to the person you are with. I was personally told to shut up twice by the same man who worked there. And another couple came up to us and said they experienced the same thing. Then not long after my boyfriend was taking a picture of some art that he saw in the area of the bar and was then told by the same man who told us to shut up earlier that he needed to delete the picture from his phone ASAP. So, DO NOT come here to relax! Staff is not respectful and extremely rude. 100% do not recommend.

Spent 10 hours here relaxing and eating and drinking with my bff. Didn't want to leave. Will go back soon!

Beautiful terrain. Very clean spa. Would recommend heated hangers for the outdoor areas in the winter. Go in the afternoon, watch the sunset and moonrise all from the comfort of the hot tub.

Hiba Hakim

Best spa ever !!!

imene bouchakour

magnifique. beautiful location. The steam room gets crazy hot and I love it

amandeep sharma

We reserved a massage therapy over the phone and the lady said that the thermal experience is automatically “included” once we get a massage therapy there. It was a miscommunication since the price did not include the thermal experience. All in all, it was indeed a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere and we will go back for sure.

Kathy Robert

Amazing retreat only an hour away from downtown Montreal. Lovely staff, quiet and peaceful nature surrounds

sri muthu

Warning: evening experience (5-8pm) only gives you access to limited area of spa. This is not described anywhere on the site or on the property until *after* you pay and enter the spa. This is bad business practice... We’ve previously been here (and loved it) but brought guests with us not knowing that they inexplicably close the lakeside area - the “beach club”— which includes the hot tubs and even lake access — over 90 mins before sunset. For us this is the main attraction... As a result, all remaining spa guests are crammed into the upper spa area, with hot tubs and saunas full of people without proper distancing. Not very spa-like...

Very nice place Very Clean Shower water pressure according to American standard. Not bad for to wash your hands. Takes a lot of time. Not suitable for showers. Great new variety of saunas. The smal pools leave the best. Jacuzzi jet pressure is very low to be desired. the old complimentary towels and bathrobes did not match the size of the price we had to pay. Only panoramic views services and saunas made a good impression. one visit is enough. there is no desire to return again. If you have low spa requirements. Then you will like it.

Fr Lo

There are things I really enjoyed; The view, the fact you can change your towels no charge and staff member Jasmin. However, it is not relaxing that people are loud. And I feel the relaxing section is to squished together.

Lau

HEAVEN on earth.... Very friendly n helpful staff... A must visit place for nature/ spa lovers

Alex Coma

Reserved online with local hotel/motel Beatnik Had confirmation email with correct date but their balnea system showed next day. There are signs everywhere of what you cannot do. Sections of site blocked …

I love Balnea. Have been coming here for years. Very peaceful and great amenities. Super friendly staff!

Oksana Karpiuk

Truly unique experience. An indoor and out door vertical experience overlooking access to a large lake for lounging. …

Rebecca Wilson

Great place, where you can relax and ease your mind.

Charles ALBAUT

This was the highlight of my trip to Montreal. The facilities are incredible and large enough where you feel like you have the place to yourself even if it is quite busy. Three hot pools, two cold plunge pools, a sauna, steam room, three relaxation rooms, shower area, lounge, restaurant, and a massage building. The massage was fantastic and worked out all of the tension I hold in my upper back. Wrapped up our time with cheese, bread, and wine and it was delicious. Would plan on coming back to Montreal just for this experience!

Youri Rodrigue

Friendly service, will be going back!

Chantal Gendron

I had a wonderful experience! Very calming and relaxing. The staff were nice and efficient. I would definitely recommend it! Looking forward to receiving promotions.

Dagmara Garolis

Very nice view and ambiance. Will come back for sure!

LUCIAN c

I liked the overall experience, however, the security staff was overwhelming with the interventions they were doing. Also, there was a electricity shortage and they did not accomodate the facilities (no closed sign to the vapor sauna as it was not working, no light in the changing rooms)

M L

Loved it very peaceful and relaxing. Got a great deal with the morning access. Worth it.

Alexey Alexeev

Very nice place with many facilities. Aroma therapy is good

Patrick Lanciault

Clean, friendly and well appointed, this spa is worth the drive. The facilities are well maintained and the staff is professional and friendly. Massage therapists are among the best in the province.

Dan Mao

Beautiful spa where you can spend the day. There is a restaurant. What a shame they do not allow you to take your camera once inside.

amber curtin

Simply dreamy! Visited early December and although not all installations were open the quality and variety of what was available was top! There was a capacity set for each installation and I felt comfortable with the amount of people at the Spa. Be prepared for hot saunas and refreshing cold baths, comfy lounges, delicious food & beverages and the most magical lake view. I will definitely return.

sonny gran

I’ve heard good comments about this place and want to give it a try ! For a spa and the price, i felt it was overpriced. Not enough pools for everyone. Its more of a relaxing place to lay down than a place with pools or sauna. I was very disappointed. There were a few pools open and some of them were very dirty, having leaves and mold. I didnt see any employee doing their job the whole day I was there. I also tried their bistro, which i really appreciated! It was very good! But the wait was long for the food, almost 1 hour. They apologize because there was a big group that ordered before us... but still. Overall, i wouldnt come here if i had the choice.
