Gloria and Wanda-Lee gave lovely facials to my partner and I. Gloria (the owner, I believe), went above and beyond for us to have a special experience. Facials are a rare celebratory treat for us and I'm so glad to have had such a fabulous experience with them. They use very high quality products which I'm happy to have at home now. I can't wait for the next time!

I’ve messaged the owner to contact me regarding this but have not yet made contact. I expected to be serviced by a graduate of an esthetics program .the service provider didn’t appear to know the basics of a pedicure like turning on the lamp. Her angle on brushing my feet was so off she caused an abrasion on my ankle. My concern grew during the course of the service and when I questioned her I found out she was a student who was on a work term and would not graduate until June!!! I was not informed that I was being serviced by a student and yet I had to pay full price ! If I wanted a student I could have gone to Academy Canada. I feel this was deceptive as a paying full price client. It was unfair to the student as she did not process the knowledge skills or competency to perform a pedicure independently. Instead of relaxation I came away with harm and stress. This is not what I expected to pay for. I have been a frequent loyal customer of this spa until now. I expect that I should have been informed up front that a student was an option and been give the choice as informed consent. Instead I was not informed by the staff and had to find out during my own questioning that the service provider was a student. Also I should not have paid full price !!! Very disappointing plus the physical harm and psychological stress. This should not happen to anyone else hence my reason for the feedback in this review. Update. Tuesday Just received follow up phone call from owner. Had a fabulous discussion of learnings from this event Explanations were provided apology given complimentary pedicure and most important help will be provided to the student to ensure her future success . Thank you Soothe from turning disappointment into confidence !sadly does not address the implied verses informed consent process. But will persevere with trying to educate with your help The nail polish that usually lasts a couple of months is now gone. This must be related to my pedicure. Although I’ve been given a free pedicure I’m reluctant to go back to Soothe because I’m so disappointed with their lack of informed consent verses implied consent. Don’t take for granted you are getting a seasoned professional but be customer savvy that you may get a student Ask inquire to who is providing your service Don’t be like me and get a student though passed at Academy Canada couldn’t perform the services paid for. If and if I go back they will have to make up for this terrible experience Will I take the chance? I hope I can. We’ll see I ve decided that I should have been offered a refund and or a free pedicure. I’ve now decided a refund would have better served me and the spa owners. I’m now trapped back into Soothe Spa for a pedicure I no longer want from them instead of being offered a full refund to go elsewhere. Buyer beware !!! I will no longer be a client of this deception so the free pedicure can go to someone else on my behalf

What an amazing way to start 2021! I came into Soothe Downtown Spa to treat myself to a facial. The staff was friendly and thorough in helping me choose which service was best for my skin concerns. The service itself was extremely relaxing and performed with high quality products that were vegan and cruelty free! The staff (Wanda-lee and Taylor) gave me some great recommendations for future products to incorporate into my skincare routine and were very enthusiastic when answering my questions. It wasn't exactly cheap but my skin feels AMAZING and with the fantastic customer service I received I would say it was worth every penny. I will definitely continue to support this local business!

Love this Spa! I've been going there for years and totally enjoy the experience whenever I go. The staff are very friendly and I'm always pleased with the service! I normally have a manicure & pedicure and I wouldn't go anywhere else for these services!

I love going to Soothe Spa! The staff is so attentive and friendly. They take the time to ensure that you are comfortable. Every time I go, I leave feeling so pampered and refreshed. It's the perfect place to unwind and just relax in this beautiful environment. I highly recommend Soothe Downtown Spa!

Myself and my maid of honour went to soothe spa for a pre-wedding manicure and pedicure. I had expected top notch service considering the price and advertisement of this “spa”. First, when we came in a girl told us to pick a color, and then walked away. I was hoping to chat with my nail artist about what I wanted to have done. Finally they came back and I was informed they could not do any French fade or any nail art work. We had this procedure done on a Wednesday, by Friday the shellac polish had chipped, and by Saturday it had completely peeled off of two full nails. Shellac should typically last weeks! This is why we paid extra for this service. Finally, when the service was over, we noticed that our toe polish was still wet. We informed three different staff members and asked them if they had anything to help speed up the drying or if they had flip flops for purchase. The staff members argued with us that they were dry and offered no solution. We attempted to just sit and wait in the waiting room until they were dry, but several staff members continued to approach us to argue with us again, basically trying to force us to leave. We realized it was noon and they were putting on their shoes to leave - they were only concerned about going for their lunch break. We were tired of being argued with so we left with wet toe nails... needless to say, they were ruined. We did not have time to go back and get them fixed. For the price of this service, I am so disappointed and would NEVER recommend soothe spa for manicures/pedicures.

The Soothe staff is absolutely amazing. A fantastic, friendly team who took care of me from minute one. I went with my sister-in-law and her sister for Happy Feet pedicures. It was the most luxurious pedicure I've ever had. Extra thanks to Wanda Lee and Miranda for making it perfect. Hats off to Gloria and all the Soothe staff. I can't wait to come back!

Just had the "Happiest Feet in St.John's" pedicure there. Was awesome! Very nice facility & very relaxing. All around great experience!!

My sister, mother, and myself had pedicures and manicures prior to my sister 's wedding. The pedicure service was adequate ( took way too long, both services together took 3+ hours) but the manicures were terrible. All of them were ruined within the day ( I waited 30 mins after leaving the salon before touching anything). When I noted the colour was not what I had wanted to the girl told me " oh silly, that was the other colour" and continued with the wrong colour. Put way to much Polish on and kept hurting me! When I flinched for the 7th time she asked if it hurt, and when I said yes, she commented that I must be "sensitive " My sister and mother chose the same colour, so instead of going and getting another bottle, the one girl waited for my mother's esthetician to be done with her bottle (wasting more time). I normally would not comment but my mother paid a lot of money for what was supposed to be a nice pre-wedding experience and ALL of us will have to have them redone. My sister (the bride) showed a picture and asked if what she wanted could be done and the girl said "probably!" I have included pictures . Two days later two other attendees for the wedding also got manicures which also were both ruined within hours. Again, I have included pictures. I would STRONGLY suggest avoiding this place, the estheticians were all very new, the service was subpar and the resulting "manicures" were terrible. AVOID!

Went there yesterday and everything was lovely! We both had the happiest few in St. John's treatment and it was great! Both Katie and Laura were so sweet and friendly and really made us feel comfortable. The treatment itself was very thorough and very relaxing. Not only was it a neck and shoulder massage but also a scalp massage! 10/10 would go again! (Already planning to!)
