Terrible company! My girlfriend and I booked an hour long deep massage for our 1 year, got to the store to find it closed and waited for a while before phoning to ask what is happening. Got some excuses that there kitchen had a fire but we could reschedule.( A day spa ....had a kitchen fire...?) Where was the phone call to cancel the appointment? Thanks for wasting our time!! Will never recommend and will put in any effort to get people to stay away from your horrible business.

I've been to this place once before, and had a great experience...hence, I asked my husband for a gift certificate, as a birthday present.i waited a two months to use it, and somehow lost the piece of paper, but we have the bank transaction record, and still, the owner wouldn't help us. She asked us to go in person, and she didn't even bother to show up...This woman doesn't keep track of anything and throws away the git certificates, so we couldn't even check, if someone else found it and used it. We are past costumers and good people. She has our money, so she doesn't care about helping us out. NEVER going back!

This place changed my life! I work long hard days and always have a sore body. After going here I felt like I was floating on fluffy clouds. Inside is super clean and all the employees are incredibly helpful and nice, they really make you feel comfortable. I 100% recommend Kanokwan massage!

What a weird and unpleasant experience! A friend bought a Groupon for us both to have a Thai massage as my birthday present. My friend called to confirm our appointment yesterday and when we arrived today they had no record of our appointment, even though we showed them the Groupon and confirmation of our appointment. She was very rude and told us to come back later but we explained this wasn’t possible and it was a birthday gift but she just kept saying “So sorry” but in a rude dismissive kind of way. Another couple waiting were about to get a couples massage but when they heard this exchange they decided to cancel and walked out. But still she couldn’t fit us in, “so sorry” she said and walked away into the back of the spa. Then suddenly a different woman came out from the back and she was acting very strangely saying oh it’s all right, please come in, don’t listen to her she’s very forgetful because she’s so busy, she was almost pleading with us, frankly she looked afraid and desperate as if she was going to get into trouble if we didn’t go with her. My friend and I were feeling pretty confused and weirded out by now so we said no thank you and left. What on earth? Dreadful experience!

Also, this spa offers really reasonable price which is worth it for their services and the staff is very nice and well behaved. Whenever I’ll come Victoria. I’ll visit this spa every time. The masseuse was getting constant phone calls and messages and used one hand on me and the other on the phone. Yes, that happened! Also her nails were too sharp yoo. When I realized that she is only using one hand, I quickly changed my 1hr appointment to 1/2 hr and left the place as soon as possible.

A great full-body massage from Thani (sp?). Comfortable sheets, table, and setting. She was attentive to the parts I had mentioned that needed extra time. 4 stars because I also had a facial after and the woman (did not get her name) came in rushed, her phone kept buzzing, and her hair was not back and fell into my face. The facial itself was excellent (pumpkin peel ftw), but the difference in customer care between the two was night and day. I would go back for sure, but only request Thani for a relaxing experience.

I am surprised this place still exists. I once had a foot massage, and the practitioner name Linda was looking at her phone until I had to tell her to put it away. And when I didn't leave her a tip, she said 'No tip ?!' Of course not. I'm never coming back again. I am writing this hoping that no one in the future would have to face what I faced.

We went for a couples massage during our honeymoon and were very disappointed. They were pretty unprofessional from the start. When we arrived ten minutes before our scheduled massage, the person at the front seemed shocked to see us there... after happily waiting for a few minutes while she went to get things set up we heard a commotion in the back and a gentleman left the store seeming disappointed and upset that he had been waiting for a while and his masseuse hadn’t shown up (what we gathered from the overheard conversation) This seemed a bit odd but we didn’t really know what was going on so we continued on and we’re shown to the room where we’d have our massage. The sheets on the massage beds were oily and felt like paper- we were pretty sure they hadn’t been changed. Our massages were nothing spectacular, we both left with the same aches we walked in with and our masseuses were unprofessional. One left the room three times and the other was chewing gum loudly during the whole massage. It made the environment pretty tense and certainly not the relaxing and calming environment we were hoping for. This was an incredible disappointment and a waste of our time and money.

I am just leaving this location and decided to write a review in that I am very upset with the dishonesty that was just displayed. I am an art consultant, educator, and entrepreneur from the United States. I am currently performing on a cruise ship that docked here in Victoria, BC. Our ship cleared a little later than normal so I was rushing to my appointment. I arrived looking forward to relaxation when I realized the door was locked and decided to call the desk. A lady answered the door and looked surprised as if she did not know that I was coming even though I had made an appointment a few days before. When I walked in she asked my name and looked at her books. She then looked at the clock to check the time and realized it was 7 min after my appointment. She then told me she took a walk in because I was late. Now I’m no dummy. I have a masters degree and currently looking forward to more education. I told her I understand my tardiness and I should have called but I don’t believe that is what happened. It seemed as if, she did not have me in the books OR she did and when she saw I was a few minutes late she locked the door to stop all other business so she could go home. This is HiGHLY unprofessional and I hope that this review makes them think twice before lying to a customer. Thank You!

I had a horrible experience. Rude Owner. She cares only about $$$. I have been a customer at Kanokwan for about the last 9 months. I would have about 30-40 massages there, great experience then. The last time I went there, the price changed without telling me and charged me for using the shower. I have never been charged that before and the bill was $15 higher than usual. I asked why the bill is higher than the usual $95. The owner got rude with me. It up to me to look at their website and that the summer specials are over. They said the price changes and charges for the shower. I said you should tell your regular customer of the price change before they start. I said it was fine and I paid. I then texted the owner saying that she shouldn't get rude to a loyal customer. She texted me she doesn't care about that, it's money I care about. So, my advise is that you go to a place that take care of the customer and is polite. I will never return. They lost $1000's of dollars of repeat business. I am a loyal customer but I expect a certain level of politeness and courtesy.

I was so exhausted and had heavy shoulder and back. So I decided to do deep tissue massage for 60min for first time. It was so great although painful at some points.... But she said because my muscles are stiff. Not enjoy relaxing time but after treatment I felt so good and feel lighter..! I liked it a lot!

We went for a couple massage today. It's a one hour Thai massage and one hour foot massage. I have to say, this is probably the best massage I've gotten so far. Highly recommend Tani and Noi. I had 80 min Thai Kanok signature massage with Noi, and my friend had 90 min deep tissue with Lisa. The spa is clarming and clean with nicely appointed decor. The spa services were some of the best we have ever experienced. We truly appreciated the special touches like: the tray for my foot soak had the bottle of oil and small plates with decorative flowers and after our massage a tray was waiting for us with tea in a beautiful glass cup with a lid and a plate with a decorative flower. We highly reommed Kanokwan.......

This place far exceeded my experctations. I had the Thai Kanokwan Signature Massage and it was incredible! It starts with a hot foot soak with hot stones, and then moves into a full massage with some stretching incorporated. it then concludes with a scalp massage and final massage/wipe down with hot towels to remove any remaining massage oil. The masseuse was excellent at getting out my knots and creating a relaxing environment. You cannot beat this spot for quality at the price. Highly impressed .

My wife and I both see Noi regularly for deep tissue Thai massage. We lived in Thailand for three years, and came to see the benefits of this type of massage. We think Noi is outstanding, both as regards expertise and natural talent. We are both seniors, and cope with the arthritis and muscle pain that has come with aging. Noi's ministrations usually considerably alleviate that pain. Thai massage can be very strong, even painful, but we have become accustomed to this - my wife even prefers it to a gentler massage. That said, Kanokwan Spa does offer a gentler, Relaxation Massage; and Noi will ease up upon request. For therapeutic massage, Kanokwan Spa is tops in Victoria.

The worst ever message I've experienced. I offered a Thai massage for my girlfriend's birthday at Kanokwan Thai Spa. It was the worst idea I've ever had. Even reviews are good and relaxing music is played in the spa. The message was too strong, even Thai message should be an energetic message, the masseur has to adapt to her patient. My girlfriend did not speak English very well and it was hard for her to tell that the massage hurt but finally she literally asked her two times to make it lighter. It did not change too much then she went back to how hard she was originally doing it. Hopefully after, she moved from shoulder to legs and I was a bit better. Many times she told herself that she wanted to leave. The massage was so bad that she held her breath. It was the limit of torture. It looked like she was a piece of meat. At the end, we asked why the message was so painful. She told us it will be much better after, not during the message. However, after 1 days, my girlfriend did not feel better and she has strong pain on the back shoulder (scapula), like she had punch... So I would not recommend anymore the Kanokwan Thai Spa.

We're visiting from Calgary and found this gem!! So glad we came here for the couples massage instead of overpriced hotel spas. The place was very clean and had a relaxing ambience as soon as you walk in. A spa which has a convenient location and hours opened. Upon entering, I was greeting by a professional and very welcoming staff in a peaceful and pleasant environment. I was offered an herbal tea and then escorted to a private room, surrounded by healing scents, calming music, and a warm and comfy message bed. We got the 90 minute relaxation massage and it was heavenly! Definitely coming back whenever we come back to visit Victoria! Highly recommend Kanokwan Thai Spa !

Sort of a funny story. First few visits it was just a regular great thai massage place. But on our 4th or 5th visit we realized something felt a little different. We realized that there might be additional services provided of the happy ending variety. I want to be clear, that this was not a service offered to me and it would not deter me from returning. In fact, I've visited again since with my adult daughter. The massage therapists, are warm, friendly, thoroughly professional and the massage services are unrivaled in the city. Highly recommended from a strictly massage perspective!

I got relaxation massage last month and it was heaven, Went today to get a deep tissue massage and although it hurt at times since I had a lot of knots going in it was just what I needed. Great environment, calming music, it really set the mood going in, staffs are super friendly and skills. Got some tea post-massage, I would definitely recommend this place.

From getting help for sports injuries, to stress relief and even massage after difficult dental procedures (Noi does a wonderful head/face/jaw/scalp massage). Very grateful for the effort and consideration I always see, and that there’s a convenient and affordable alternative to RMT. Thank you!

Ok so a lot of reviews here seem to either be great or not so to be fair to the owner i'm going to give this two stars instead of one. i went recently a week or two ago and got someone fairly inexperienced (definitely not thai) and obviously in her early twenties. She couldn't really execute any of the typical thai massage techniques which is fine, everyone has to start somewhere, and maybe she was new. She did have an overabundance of wet wipes out though, which i understand for keeping clean and sanitary its important, but the sheer volume gave me the distinct impression that she thought I was neither clean nor sanitary, and made me feel kind of bad about myself, and like she felt as though her clientele disgusted her. Further, her demeanor throughout the session was clinical, depersonifying and cold. Everyone has off days im sure, but it just felt like she'd rather be elsewhere, and was the reverse of intimacy. After the session she rudely demanded the money before i had a chance to get it out myself. People often have good experiences here from the look of it, so i'm sure its not unfixable for this place to be great again.

Went Kanokwan Thai Spa a couple days ago desperate to get a massage as my lower back shoulders and hips were in pain. My husband comes here every few months and he called Kanokwan Thai Spa and they booked me in the same day for a 90 min massage. Angier was my Massage Practitioner and she was heaven sent! Every single knot was gone and I left rejuvenated and so relaxed. The massage is different from any traditional massage I received in the past and I loved that it is so effective. She paid attention to every detail and checked to see how I am doing which I appreciated so much. I like how she wiped the oil off with warm towels on each section she worked on which is a great touch since I hate leaving my massage appointments all greasy and cold. The stretch in the beginning is awesome as well - there is just so many good things to say! Overall my experience there is beyond excellent and I look forward to coming there more often. Definitely not a Thai massage! Dont know on what basis they tout themselves as thai massage place. Zero knowledge about any massage. Probably the 2nd worst massage I had on this continent. And got charged 73$ (tip separate) for paying with credit card. Extremely poor communication. Definitely not a safe massuese either. Wonder if people have left this place in additional pain than they came with. Not worth the time or money.

Had booked massage 3 days prior. Got to location and there is a number to call to open door. Owner "acted" surprised I had appointment and I said you know I had booked. She then said she must have missed it as she was at her doctors now. Could we rearrange something. I said absolutely not. We are done. As my friend and i waited for our husbands to turn around and pick us up, the owner of the building was there and saying the lady was hardly ever there in her facility. No idea how she makes a living or can afford the rent. We found another thai massage that could get us in an hour later and it was phenomenal. It was Rungs Thai Massage. We highly recommend!!

The first time I went to Kanokwan Thai Spa earlier this year I went seeking relief for a sore back. I was anxious during the massage as I was afraid of aggravating the injury. The lady massaging me reassured me, and kept telling me to relax as I was tensing up so much. She worked very hard but was focusing entirely on my hamstrings and hips and knees. After an hour she exclaimed “finally!” Something had released in my leg. Confused, I told her “but it’s my back that’s the problem.” I thought there had been some miscommunication, although my legs were also very tight. No, she told me, that’s not where the problem was. She had to “unlock” or release something in my leg. Getting up, I was more than surprised to find the pain completely gone! Since then I have gone back several times seeing different people. The massage styles vary but staff is always friendly. I haven’t tried their real Thai massage yet, where they stretch you out, as I am quite inflexible and don’t think it would work on me? I would recommend giving Kanokwan Thai Spa a try. I like that they allow walk-ins and have an option for a quick shoulder massage. One recommendation - I would like to see an option for different massage oils in the treatments (organic coconut oil would be great).
