The place and massage was amazing (food was umm not the best) and the spas itself were also amazing it's a solid 4/5 just missing that extra bit

Cory Chatwell

Nothing else like it in town, although I have had better massage elsewhere, the combo of massage and pools is not to be missed

Lexie Symphony

Was a great place to be, even in the dead of winter. Found it great to have it snowing while in the pools. Wonderful experience!

BeyondBeautyCoach

As a lux place this company doesn’t want to make customers happy. I was willing to be kind and understand but at this point they give bad services for special circumstance. The consequence of there discrimination should be they don’t get my money at ALL..... and refuse to refund me when I can’t use their services only food take out when I purchased a thermeal experience.. No thank you!! so displeased with this company.

Cristien Lyons

A wonderful location for relaxation. If you get the chance, visit its sister location in Quebec called Nordik, which is twice the size

Libriel Padilla

So relaxing! We highly recommend. The steam rooms, saunas, resting rooms were all so amazing. And we came on a beautiful day where it was nice to just sleep on a cot in the shade. Would make the trip back to Winnipeg again.

Amanda Anderson

Once we were in, it was very relaxing. I loved the variety of saunas and hot tubs. However, we came at 9:10 and had to wait until 10 before we made it into the location! We were waiting outside in a line which was less than ideal considering it was quite chilly out. The bath robes were also ripped and my partner's was missing a loop for the drawstring. Overall a good experience just wish we didn't have to wait so long before getting to enjoy the spa.

Amber Doyle

Thermal experience was lovely as always. Had an AMAZING service in the restaurant from our server Jason. Will probably go for dinner there again purely due to his phenomenal energy. Thank you, Jason!

Aiden Christopher Kahanovitch

I have been multiple times and have enjoyed past experiences. My most recent visit however was extremely disappointing and not worth the cost. The noise level was unacceptable, and even after bringing it up with staff the issue was not addressed. One of the warm pools was not functioning, which disrupted the Thermea cycle, which was the main point of going. I have been on busier days and had a better experience. Very disappointing, and unfortunate that the staff took no steps to resolve issues that were identified.

I took my husband here to relax for his birthday, OMG it was beyond our expectations. We had the thermal experience and wow, just wow! The hot pool, the saunas, so relaxing. While my husband had went for his foot treatment, which he said was good, I went in the relaxation area, nice and quiet and the music was soothing. Later on we both had the 60 minute Swedish massage and we loved it. Great place to relax. If you're planning on going there for the thermal experience, you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you have enough time on you so that you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere

Jason Houghton

Massage was excellent and food was enjoyable. Surprised that Thermal Experience was not included in the price of ($125) massage. Did not feel it was worth it to pay an additional $35 for 30 minutes of hot tub/sauna.

Mark Budala

This is an oasis unlike anything I have experienced in Winnipeg! We just finished a very relaxing day here. The Eucalyptus steam room and Aufguss ceremony are top picks. It took a couple hours to really relax but once it set in it was hard to leave. We will be back for sure!

Andre G. Bouche

We go every year for our anniversary and we absolutely love it. We load up our bracelets with a little bit of cash to spend at the restaurant/bar and usually enjoy a soup of the day between sweating and cold plunging. If you’ve never been it’s tremendous. We are truly lucky to have such a world class facility here in Winnipeg.

Arun Patti

Took the day off with my wife only to get there and find out that all the pools are closed for maintenance. All they offered was 25% off which is ridiculous because the pools are more than half the experience. Took another day off the week after and called them to confirm that the pools would be open. Staff member on the phone was very rude and gave me attitude when I tried to explain the pool maintenance issue from the week before. Staff member assured me that the pools would be open. Arrived the next day to find out that the pools would be closed for an hour for maintenance. 2 hours go by and the pools were still closed. I would give this a 0 star if I could. Horrible customer service and no compensation for something that could be done after hours, not during business hours.

Jillian Puls

Most amazing and enjoyable experiance. So relaxing. I plan to go back 4 times a year. Incredible.

Heather Armstrong

Will be a definite monthly retreat. So many fantastic relaxation options. Dry warm seating to take a break, many different sauna and pool options, and the food is fantastic too. Clean, professional, can't wait to check out the massage options.

Josiah Reimer

Fantastic Spa. Maybe my favorite place in Winnipeg. Staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has wonderful seasonal dishes.

Ah Rin Park

Really satisfied with the experience. Just disappointed about the restaurant part but aside from that I will come back again though I don't really like being quiet. ????

Aurora Mcnab

Spend all day here. The food is amazing; it is pricy but worth the experience. I find it's better in the summer because they have outdoor beds, lounge chairs and a patio which you wouldn't use in the winter.

Ariel Desrochers

I had a really great time at the spa today and so did my partner. We got there about 11:30am and were there for about 4 1/2 hours. It was not busy at all which was nice, as i've heard it can be bumping sometimes. I loved the vapour rooms, the quiet reading area and the hot pool next to the sauna was lovely. I also really enjoyed how quiet and respectful everyone was. The food wasn't amazing and the restaurant was a little bit dirty but that didn't bother us to much. This place is great if you want to have a relaxing couple hours.

Anthony Toews

Overall enjoyed the experience, however found that it was too expensive to make it a regular stop. One time every few years is plenty IMO. Booked a massage which was good, not spectacular.

Yak Man

I loved it !!! It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The bistro food was very good and presented nicely. Everything about this wonderful place is five star. Can't wait for the one to open in Whitby Ontario. Will definitely go there.

Kristellar Zumba

The entire experience is amazing. All your senses are engaged. Sounds, scents, scenery, waterfalls, texture (stones, sand, rocks, beds, chairs), fireplaces, music, temperatures. Spend a full day if you can. A few hours is never enough even then, you will always want more .

Jenn Llewellyn

Thermea is the most relaxing place I have ever been.

Sherry Ott

I adored this place - especially the Aufguss ritual. I didn't think that it would be my style - but I stayed for 2 hours and was thoroughly relax by the end!

Tyler Yellowega

Experience was great. I love it here. I wish more people knew Sauna etiquette (like closing doors and not walking in and out constantly) that visited but it really is a wonderful, relaxing time.

Brian Wills

Went to Thermea today with my wife. What a wonderful experience. We felt very safe the whole time we were there. Social distancing is taken seriously. Guests don't need to wear a mask. All the staff are wearing masks. There are limits to the amount of people allowed in to the different areas so everyone can be socially distanced. If you want to sit together you need to show id at the front desk upon arrival that you come from the same address (i.e. Drivers license), then you get matching wrist bands. Wasn't very busy and was so relaxing. Highly recommended! You do need to book an appointment, which can be done on their website or by calling.

I used to love coming to thermea until my last visit. Especially when it comes to the restaurant, I was very disappointed. Was very hard to get ahold of the waitress, as well as waiting for our drinks too long as there seemed to be lots of laughing and flirting going on at the bar. Was not told that there were no refills on soft drinks anymore which was shocking as I was billed for multiple refills. I was given glasses filled to the top with ice and maybe a few shots of coke. I feel that that rips off guests. I also ordered a fondue to share. The poker sticks were covered in filth and fuzz, the waitress didn't really seem to care when I showed her. Either they were dropped on the floor or they don't take care of where they keep utensils because the dirt was caked on. The menu clearly stated "Lindt Milk chocolate" for the fondue, but it was just melted DARK chocolate chips. We pay a lot for the food as it is higher priced, it would of been nice to have it shown in the service and quality of the food. As for the thermal experience, I used to love the fact that every few moments there would be staff holding signs to remind guests to keep quiet. But twice visiting I didn't see that from staff. I come to the spa to relax in peace, not hear everyone's weekend plans in the pool or someone's YouTube video being loud on their phone on the beach. Honestly I don't know if I'll come back, it seems like there isn't much effort being made there anymore. Very sad

David Charabin

Great spa / sauna experience with a very good restaurant. A wonderful place to relax and spend time with friends.

Juer Arroyo

The place is awesome! I love the wet saunas with eucalyptus and orange scent. Great place to relax. Staff are very helpful and nice too. Though the front desk ladies are not very welcoming. Food is great though a lil bit pricey. One waitress went out of her way to replace my sister's drink cos she doesn't like the iced tea she was given. She gave her lemonade and didn't charge us for that drink. The rest are is very cosy though it needs more bed and hammocks. Bring a book and stay hydrated! We ended up staying there for 6 hrs. So worth it!

Boris Stepansky

Hot tubs are something. Nice saunas. Not cheap at all. Pretty slow bar.

Josh Halliday

So relaxing. Food at the bistro is great and the wine list pairs nicely with the menu. Only complaint is that at times it can be crowded. This is a testament to their popularity so they are clearly doing something right!

Joyce Odidison

I had a blissful afternoon with my girlfriend at Thermea, such a beautiful time. A bummer the waitress forgot my gluten free request I was sick all weekend. Double check your food order.

Michelle Ans

Thermea is a wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating experience! So peaceful! My husband and I spent about 8 hrs there. We started with massage/body treatments, then used the pools and saunas and relaxing rooms. It's a great escape from stress and life! Food is delicious, however very pricey, limited selection, and small/medium portions. It is kept quiet for optimal relaxing - if you want to go with friends to chat and such, don't pick this venue. If you want deep relaxation and rejuvenation in a peaceful environment - this is definitely the place to go! Having a cafe there would definitely enhance the experience - being able to get a quick snack, drink, or sandwich would be ideal. That way you could grab a quick bite and return to the spa without having to sit down for a full meal.

Alexander James

Amazing place to spend time at. Wonderful place to make a quick get away. Would highly recommend to everyone I know.

Joseph La Corte

I planned a special day for a friend. We arrived and checked in. They give you an electronic bracelet and pre-approve a dollar amount to put on the bracelet to avoid cash transactions. Everything was going well and I was totally relaxed until we went for lunch and after lunch the amount of the bill was more than they pre-approved amount that they took at check in. They made me get up, go back to my locker, get my credit card, go back to the front desk and pay separately for the difference. When I said that this process was crazy and total takes you out of the relaxed mood, the receptionist asked me to sign the credit card receipt and then said, “you can go relax now”. Completely disrespectful. It ruined my mood for the rest of the day. I spent a large amount of money at Thermëa and this was not the kind of service I would have expected. If the menu prices are going to be high, then pre-approve a larger amount or have the client settled up at the end of there stay.

Marina Havard (Marishinka)

It’s definitely an experience and that’s wonderful. I enjoyed the experience. The change room and locker room was not nice. Bathrobes we missing pockets and that made it hard for masks. It’s expensive. I would think at $50 well worth it especially in the winter. I am not a cold person so I felt like the cold was a turn off. Loved how cal It was. The saunas weren’t too hot. No more spiritual ceremony. That would have made me happier. Also I prefer altea for the yoga and then awesome sauna and steam rooms.

My wife and I were given gift certificates from my son and his girlfriend for Christmas and so we visited Thermea for the first time on Jan 3rd/2016. It didn't start out great but sure ended great. We arrived hungry so decided to eat first. We were told to give our names as there was a waiting list ahead of us. As we waited, I couldn't help but notice the tardiness of the restaurant staff in clearing tables and getting them ready for the people waiting. I saw plenty of empty tables and at the same time plenty of people waiting to be seated. Something seemed 'off with the way the staff weren't hustling to accommodate their customers. Once we were seated, service was still moving quite slow. When I finally asked if they were short-staffed, the lovely female waitress said that they were.So this slowness all made sense to me then. Once we got served, we found the food to be very tasty and enjoyed it thoroughly. We both ordered the Bison burger which was great and the side salad that came with it was extremely tasty. Then we went exploring and found each and every stop to be wonderful. We loved the Exfoliation process and Eucalyptus room the most. We spent about 4 hours in all moving through the various stations, pools and hot tubs. The atmosphere is one where (by signs), you are asked to be silent or whisper while using the stations and pools. This is a good idea as it keeps the peaceful and relaxing feeling that everyone is after. Before heading out we went and laid down on the heated loungers and listened to some very laid-back music on headphones. This too was ultra relaxing. Price is very reasonable for what you get to experience. I must say that it was a well spent time together and we would definitely recommend Thermea and go back again.

Alexander C

Been here multiple times for the Thermal experience. The massages are also on par. I felt very relaxed and comfortable during the whole experience. The only issues I've had with the place is the lack of enforcement on the whisper rule as it affects the calming experience and the food is lack luster in terms of overall flavour

Akezia Jainaraine

I enjoyed my day at Thermea. The facilities are excellent. Our check-in was smooth. My only suggestion is for the people at the check-in to be more friendly. I found them very short when speaking with our party; this did not set the tone for a relaxing day at the spa. I would suggest posting a map of the facility in the change rooms. There is a map at the entrance of the waters, but I think more signage is needed. The change rooms are clean; there is always someone cleaning. The waters are great, and the environment is very inviting and relaxing. Again, there is always someone cleaning. At around lunchtime, it got pretty busy, which made me nervous. The steam room was packed. I waited until there were fewer people in there before going in. The restaurant is great. The food is good, and their cocktails are yummy. It is pricey. The service is excellent. I will defiantly go back. I do hope they decrease the number of people using their facility at one time during COVID.

My first visit to Thermëa was in the fall of 2017. I remember my surprise at being shushed by staff patrolling the spa with signs designed to remind patrons to be quiet. During my recent visit (February 23, 2019), I was wishing that there were more staff on hand to enforce a level of quiet. The success of the "thermal experience" depends on one's ability to give themselves over to a state of total mental and physical relaxation. This doesn't happen easily when other people are talking audibly about their personal lives, squealing in shock while wading through the cold pool, or laughing hysterically with friends. If the illusion of bliss wasn't disturbed enough by other patrons, it was totally obliterated by the horrendous service provided by Lexi in the restaurant. After sneezing directly into her hand seven times (we counted), she neglected to wash her hands. Luckily she did nothing but take our order and drop off an Americano; she didn't bring a spoon or cream with the coffee, nor did she bring it when it was requested. We had to go to the bar ourselves to get more cream, cutlery, and the second Americano that had been left sitting on the counter for a few minutes. We were left in total disbelief by the poor quality of service. It eas all but impossible to re-enter the spa and thoroughly enjoy ourselves after our abysmal experience in the restaurant.

There aren't enough stars! I was not sure I would enjoy this type of experience but it was unbelievably amazing and I look forward to my next visit! The gently falling snow and the mist from the pools made for a picturesque afternoon.

Arryn Seburn

Go during a work day and it's very peaceful.

Michelle Harder

I thought that November would not be an ideal time to go but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was to have snow gently falling on you as you sit in the thermal water... I did wear a Toque so that did contribute to my head staying warm.

Dano Uki

My first time here and I will always come back. The atmosphere is so relaxing and all the staff are friendly. I had a deep tissue massage that was one of the best massages I've ever had, it was a very comfortable experience. My beautiful MT was so nice which made my time fly by (almost fell asleep) and felt like I was in a different place. She massaged all my stress away in my back from weight lifting and work. I will be trying out the thermal experience at my next visit :) I heard to come here from friends and coworkers, now I know why.

J

Thermea is the place to go for ultimate relaxation. Expect to spend the whole day here because you will not want to leave. You can bring your own robe or rent one for 15$, it's definitely worth it to have. I've only had port, chocolate and a cheese and fruit platter from the restaurant but it was all delicious. I had a massage by Julian and it was so relaxing that I fell asleep. The worst part is driving home once you're so relaxed. All you want to do is go to bed.

Shaun Borkofsky

Very relaxing, love the Eucalyptus room.

Natalie Pabon

We have been to Thermea a few times now. Our overall experience has been good except for a few things. First, they need to set a lower cap for how many people can be doing the thermal experience at one time. Especially in the colder months when sitting outside on hammocks and chairs aren’t an option. A crowded sauna or pool is not comfortable. Second, they charge about $12 to rent a robe, and when it gets wet, they do not replace them for you. Sitting around (especially in the restaurant) in a wet robe is very uncomfortable. Lastly, we decided to have a nice lunch in the middle of our thermal experience only to find out that there was an hour and a half wait. This goes back to the first problem. We wanted to spend more of our money at Thermea only to find out we couldn’t do so until much later. We love the idea of Thermea and have had a pretty good time each time we’ve gone, we just think that if you’re going to pay a premium price, you should get premium product.

This was an amazing Spa Experience.

BEWARE! I went to Thermea on Monday April 15 2019 with my mom and sister. We were getting ready to leave and I had two males walk in on me while I was changing!!! It was humiliating and I felt so violated there is no privacy at all!! Anyone could walk in on the women's side and say they were "confused". I was so scared! The worse thing was the man stood there and stared at me and I could only turn my back to him, he didn't even leave right away!! It ruined my whole experience!! I was even more upset with the reception staff, the lady didn't seem too upset she just gave me a sticky note to write my name and number and said a manager would call me the next day. No one called! Terrible experience, worst location for lockers! No sympathy or proper apology from the staff, no assurance for future visits and no call back! This was my first time and I was very disappointed and I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Vanessa Boughen

Took my daughter for her 16th birthday. She loved it and we were very pleased with the protocols and safety measures they have in place.

Rita Penner

Amazing facilities! Love the atmosphere! Very clean and nice!

Geetanjali Singh

I have been there with my family and each visit has been a delight. It is exactly how they describe it. I especially love the rustic feel around the property. Everything they do at the spa is based on their customers comfort level, including the financial aspect. It welcomes one and all not just a select few. People should stop comparing it to other spas as Thermea has its own charm which the other spas cannot provide. I understand that the whisper and silence policy is there out of respect for clients and do appreciate it but would like a little of easing off on users being admonished continuously by staff walking around with signs, especially around the pools. It is not nap time in Kindergarten. People should be allowed to have conversations in mellow tones.

Emily CPY

It's a great spa By Winnipeg standards, but don't expect anything world class. I quite enjoy going there, but it is comparatively pricey for the quality of facilities they actually have (granted it's a little bit harder to maintain those facilities in Winnipeg so it's understandable). If you are used to European Spa standards you will likely be disappointed. The whisper policy is only in effect during regular service, not when they have most of their special events, but even then a lot of people tend to ignore it which can be very irritating although the staff have gotten better about enforcing it. It would be nice if they could do something to speed up their check in process. I would not go there for a special event again since you spend so much of the limited time standing in line waiting around. The restaurant is pleasant, but I can't imagine anyone going there specifically for a meal. The food is nice, but clearly has additional markups over usual restaurant prices due to the captive audience, I still enjoy it though. They seem to have a fairly high staff turnover rate in the restaurant, and service tends to run on the slow side. Which is okay since you're there to relax, but it can be frustrating if you're intending to keep to a massage or body treatment appointment.

Melina Aiello

Please expand your selection of pregnancy pillows for massage treatments to accommodate larger bumps. Also educate your massage therapists, being on your stomach during pregnancy does not harm the baby or the mother. I had a disappointing and terrible experience

Wenlan Nyenon

Today was my first visit to Thermea. I was looking forward to my visit because I'v heard good reviews about it. But my experience was completely different. When my friend and I first booked the reservation, we were under the impression that the facility was open, however, only a few parts of the spa were available. When we got there, we noticed that the saunas, steam rooms, and mineral rooms were closed. I understand that this is due to the Covid-19 pandemic and following social distancing rules, but I think this is something that should have been disclosed on their website especially if we were being charged the same price rate. Regardless, after finding out these rooms were not available, we still wanted to make the best of our visit. Unfortunately, we had a different experience. When we went to the pool area, I took my phone and wanted to take a video and was told that was not allowed. Immediately, we put our phones away. Ten minutes later, my friend got an important phone call and was on the phone for literally less than a minute, and the same employee came back and said we were not allowed to take phone calls, I told my friend and she put her phone away. After we made our way to the hot tub, while in the hot tub, the same employee came back and said we should social distance in the pool. He knew we came together. The funny thing is there were people around with their phones and couples as well. It weird that he constantly came to us repeatedly. I brought this up to him, and his response was like "oh" and just walked away, and did not say anything else after. By this time we have only been in the facility for about 20 minutes. This employee behaviour ruined my experience, and definitely will not recommend or go back there.

Devon Guindon

Always a refreshing experience I love coming here and I wish I could more often.

Margaux Miller

Beautiful. Calming. A must do in Winnipeg any time of year. Bring a water bottle and flipflops.

Taylor Rae

Relaxing place. Great pools. Friendly and helpful staff. The food is also divine

Quinton Gowler

So very relaxing here, surprisingly by favorite pool was the cold pool

Jeongsoo Bae

Absolutely loved it. A bit pricey but it is worth it! I would re-visit whenever I get a chance. Updates: a star was deducted because of the restaurant; we had to stay here for 2 hours because we have waited the server to bring the things to us. He was super friendly and awesome, but we were always wondering where he went to... Attendant of the server wasn't pretty good. By the time we finished the meal, we were only given an hour of spa, which felt me a waste of money. Food was expensive but not exceptional, and the table was too tiny therefore we actually had to hold our plates to eat. Overall, I still like the spa.

Faraon InAsia

Tried to get in with the Certificate I bout in May, but couldn't;( I was said that they changed the rules on July and I had to book in advance. No any loyalty ;( As I understand there's no any extra spot at all ? So I had to leave. On entrance was crowded so, afraid, as inside . so I just gone without discussion. Read the comments here- truly, too many people.

Edit* Changes: they are now taking reservations for the thermal experience. It used to be walk in only and now no longer really allow walk ins. They offer military discount. 15% off for Canadian armed forces. 10% off USA military members. I've been here numerous times since and it's service has been improved from when they first opened. Their price point is very attractive compared to the other spa offerings in the city. Protip: they say you have 3 towels but if it's wet you can ask to swap it with a dry one. They can be very insistent on keeping quiet, so for the naturally louder people, it can be frustrating at times. They have a tea (no caffeine) and water station at the bank in the relaxing room. The 2 steam room "flavors" are either eucylyptus or orange. The scrubs are lavender and eucylyptus. There are 2 saunas. One is larger, the other a smaller round one. We find if we want to talk we head to the smaller one since the attendants tend not to have an issue there. In the summer there is a ton of areas to lounge in. I find that I don't normally need to rent a robe when I go. I usually just use towels because I don't like a wet robe, which happens if you go in and out of pools. They are limiting towel usage now. You get 3 in your locker. You can ask to switch to a dry one however. At the restaurant... Servers are very friendly, but often absent. I have had some fantastic service with servers I really enjoyed chatting with. I just don't know where they go? I am unsure if it is purposeful since it is a spa, so maybe they want you to have a leisurely meal. If i go here for food though, I feel I have a lot less time in the rest of Thermea. I almost always eat there when I go, except for the last time. I ended up with so much extra time I didn't know what to do with myself. Food can be slow to be delivered. Expect to pay spa prices. Mocktails were $8. Food presentation is beautiful. I really enjoy the Q Water with fruit. They used to serve them for $3 for unlimited water but now you only get one liter. Menu has been considerably shortened from my first visits. It's more condensed. For a more filling meal, get the burger. It comes with a salad or soup and is delicious. Skip the tomato soup. Most of the people tried to eat it at the table but everyone rejected it. One person thought it was ok at first... But no, decided in the end they still didn't want to eat it. My last 2 visits we did have excellent service.

Karina Nalbandian

It was the best day spent woth my friends. The place is wonderful! I loved that it's not just a spa, but an aesthetic pleasure for all your senses. Thank you!

Ethel Timbang

Always a great experience. Wish aufgus ritual was available.

Timothy Harris

They have upped their prices and you aren't even given drinking water now. How can we use saunas and hot tubs without passing out due to dehydration? This is cruel and inhumane. I understand precautions but they need to provide customer care.

Hakliva Kristin

The facilities are clean and the food is amazing! Well worth it!

Lisa kennedy

This is one of my fav places to go . The pools and saunas are great. The staff is helpful and attentative .The massages aren't great you can't book long ones and 150 plus is ridiculous for a less than amazing massage .

Luna D. K.

I love going to Thermea during winter, it makes your experience so much more fun. They have great quality food at the restaurant and one of the best bar I've been to in Winnipeg. Next time you are there, try their red sangria sitting in the cabin by the fire for a bit and then jumping into the hot tub to melt your body.

David Brookes

Extremely relaxing, the thermal experience is wonderful. Some of the best saunas, hot tubs, temperate pools, and cold plunges all in one place. It is quite and an excellent staycation site with your partner. The food at the restaurant is top notch. It is a little expensive.

sugarcrispbear 987

Love the heated hammocks be and my boyfriend slept In those for 2 hours love the eucalyptus wet sauna

Lily Pellerin

First time going, it was amazing. Clean and quiet. Definitely going back.

Scott Andrew

More for my wife but a great place to sweat, defoliate, relax. Not typically my cup of tea but the things we do for the people we love

David Wiebe

My wife and I had a most pleasant day at Thermea. We did a little checking on their website the day ahead, so knew to bring some head covering for the outdoor hot tubs (it was -11C but also breezy). Had a little plan for the "hot-cold-relax" cycles; tried the steam sauna and the dry one - both excellent. The atmosphere is perfectly chill; people kept their voices at a low volume. Facilities are lovely. Staff helpful. Food in the resto is excellent. Massage for us both was lovely. Want to go back asap.

Chris Funk

Not relaxing way to many people, bad when you have to have a drink at 10 AM to relax. Facility was exceptional, service was exceptional, cleanliness was exceptional. Would have lo e the experience but by 10 AM on a Monday there were so many people ot felt crowded. We got there at 9:15 AM and for the first 45 min was great, but for the price of EVERYTHING would be nice to relax at a spa without having to wait for areas to clear. Was our first ever visit.......not sure there will be a second

Tanis Young

HIghly recommend this retreat. Facial was lovely but didn't have time to stay for the pools - next time for sure. A box of 3 truffles at the end was a lovely touch! Treatment bed was really short (I'm 5' 7") so my feet dangled off the end ... apparently they use the massage beds & remove the face cradle. Was hoping for a larger indoor lounging area ... the benches in the waiting area were really nice but not a place to hang out & relax. Decor was very well done & staff were very professional. Looking forward to my next visit.

Jennifer Penner

Thermea is one of me and my husband’s favourite places to go! The thermal cycle really helps to feel so refreshed and relaxed. The reason I gave this place a 4-star is because lately we’ve noticed an unfortunate increase in noise. People are starting to chat in the steam saunas and relaxation rooms that are clearly marked as silent areas. I also don’t seem to see staff reminding people to keep their voices down like we did on our first few visits - which we so appreciated. It makes it much less relaxing when I hear conversations about other people’s problems and gossip - I didn’t come to hear that. I came to relax and have some peace and quiet. One of my favourite things about Thermea is the ability to have a place to shut off my brain and just “be” and lately it’s been tougher to do so.

Brent Campbell

I love this place for a day of peace. It's clean and super well maintained. The food seems a bit pricy at first, but the portions are definitely filling and so delicious. I've had massages twice and they were both top notch. I will definitely go again and recommend it to anyone needing an escape from the stresses of their lives

Kira Waterman

Awesome place! Love the outdoor beach relaxation area. Love the scrub station outside the orange/eucalyptus rooms too. There’s so much going on at this facility that we entirely missed the indoor quiet room with the loungers and the tea! We’re returning this weekend so we’ll be sure to check out absolutely everything. The food was quite expensive for small portions, but it was one of the better meals I’ve had in my life so no complaining there! My only issue was how tight the locker areas are.

Kelen Loewen

This place is incredible! I'm visiting from Vancouver and was told this place was a must. Highly recommend coming here, unplugging and enjoying everything this wonderful place offers. The company/staff have thought of pretty much everything to ensure that your time is splendid. I seriously haven't been that relaxed in a long time.

Matt Klassen

Incredible experience, something I want to do at least once a year!

Trista Rivard

Staff was friendly and courteous, everything was clean and well kept. I do wish they enforced the no talking policy, it definitely got loud at some points throughout the day. Also the hot tub had quite a bit of foam

Aaron Brykaliuk

As the electrician for the building I can attest to the insane amount of filters/ chemical regulators and safety protocols that happen behind the scene. This has to be the freshest water ever. Fun fact: if your relaxing anywhere on the property rake notice of the lights( not the low bays that flood the thermea sign on vaporo), they breath. Apparently it mimics the human heart. There is so many background things happening on this property for you to enjoy your stay it's mind blowing.

Helu

Great place to relax! Wish that they would be more strict with "rude" people that don't use towels to sit down or are too loud (especially girls group)

Alicia Spilde

This was one of the most unique experiences I've had! It's the perfect activity to do with a friend or partner.

David Cummins

Great place to just unwind. Turn off the cell phone and relax. Their are No phones aloud in the spa, sauna or pool areas. Leave it in your car or locker and unwind. Food is very tasty from restaurant on site. Great facility. Will be back soon

yildiz nasi

It was an amazing experience, I wouldn’t have imagined myself with bathing suit in the middle of Winnipeg winter wandering from one pool to another. The relaxing hammock and the fireplace are so cozy and the ritual in sauna is a must. This place speaks to all senses and definitely fulfills promises

Anthony

Terrible customer service from the manager and staff.

B Thiessen

The pools and saunas are fantastic. Massage I always feel overcharged and underwhelmed. Food is slow portions are small and prices are high.

Jenn Pastukh

Accidently chose the coldest day in Feb to go, but it was still a very relaxing experience. There's something for everyone to enjoy and the food was very good. Be prepared to bring flip flops!

Erin McIntosh

Always a good time at Thermëa. My most recent visit, I was able to try the heated hammocks for the first time and they are a GAME CHANGER! So cozy. I also tried the restaurant for the first time and although it is expensive, I'd say it was worth it. The food was very good, the service was great and the ambiance of the restaurant was so relaxing.

Anne Sylwester

A friend treated me when I came from BC to visit. The experience was amazing. Highly recommend it.

Dylan McEwan

The thermal experience of my visit at thermea was pleasant, the saunas and pools were relaxing and I enjoyed them. The best part for me were the relaxing stations, other than the fact that many people were snoring in the sleeping station which was irritating, but the heated hammocks were amazing. However, once my girlfriend and I decided to eat at the restaurant, we had a very unpleasant experience. The food was okay, nothing special but no huge complaints. The menu is small and pricy. Once we ordered it took very long to get our food, probably around 20-25 minutes. We were trying to have a quick dinner but it took over an hour overall. I had a winter bowl and my girlfriend had a “chefs special” which was a tomato sandwich. Our waitress was nice, but she did have an unpleasant smell that was pretty bad. I’m only bringing it up because it made us lose our appetite. The service also took very long, and every time I looked for our server they were all chatting at the bar, even though that had more servers than needed for the size of the restaurant. My girlfriend was upsold on adding some cheese to her sandwich, without knowing that it was $5.00 to add a slice of cheese. The dessert that we had was good, and not too expensive. Overall I did not enjoy my dinner at the restaurant, mainly due to the lazy service and expensive food. I would like to return to thermea, but I’ll be sure to eat beforehand next time.

Lydia Giesbrecht

My daughter and I came to THERMea with friends on Jan 2 nd, looking forward to an amazing day of relaxation. We live over an hour away and left early enough to arrive at 9. The line up was out the door and when we could finally talk with someone we were informed the hot tub was being repaired. We had checked the website earlier and the repair was not mentioned . We left, being told it may be ready by 1. When we called to confirm the hot tub was reopened a few hours later, they said yes. Then, when we arrived, we were informed it was full to capacity. Needless to say, we were quite upset with the extremely poor customer service! The pool was at capacity PRIOR to our phone call to make sure the repair was completed, and yet that very important detail was not conveyed to us!!! My daughter was on holidays and this outing was to a highlight. Very disappointing!

Franz Rempel

We really like this place. Have been there twice now, and really like it.

Vanessa V

Very unique experience. The thermal experience is very relaxing and fun to experience. Food and drinks are good as well. My only negative is that neither time was I explained how things worked or what to do in the different areas.

Candace Candace

Very relaxing and amazing atmosphere. Minimum $50 charge loaded onto bracelets if you're wanting to get food or drink is a bit of a steep price and turn off. Other than that highly recommend!

Lisa R

Very relaxing and cozy atmosphere, although we did not get the treatments, the thermal experience was just as great. We left feeling refreshed and extremely relaxed, exactly what I would expect from a well known spa such as Thermea. Although we were quite taken aback with how expensive the food was here. We paid $40 after taxes for a cheese board...I would suggest dining before you come here if you are looking to save money on that. Otherwise, I look forward to coming here again!

April A

Amazing! Not too busy. Lots of areas of relax, pools and saunas were great. Food was delicious!

Cody B

Went for a couples massage wasnt even a couples massage. The women we had selected werent even the women we got. The Girls at front desk were rude and not informative and our massages weren't good at all. It is over priced for terrible service not professional at all. They do it way better in Mexico and the Dominican this place is terrible.

Wouter Speckles

Wouter visits Thermea in month of November. This was my third visit since they opened. I am saddened by how much it has turned into a socialite chat room. Witnessed several guests on their cell phones despite it being clearly stated against in the rules (which are posted in many places). Many guests ignored the whisper rule, and in the silence areas...well it wasn't silent. The redeeming factor was the Aufguss ritual. Nolan preformed a great show, if there was a tip option he would've received one from Wouter. Noise and electronic violations need to be worked on to make this a truly one of a kind spot in Winnipeg. Until then, I won't be returning.

Nadya

An incredibly tranquil environment, reasonably priced with everything you could possibly need.

Derek Boonstra

As long as you go early it is well worth the price. A very high quality facility. If you stay too long and it gets too busy you loose your relaxation a bit by the end.

Scotty

Great place, really improved from after the additions unfortunately still have the real housewives of Winnipeg crowd that feel the need to gossip in the silent areas like they are the only ones there or the rules don't apply to them.

Kaci 101

Absolutely amazing! Husband and I spent a good 6 hours there. Relaxing, romantic, and just a beautiful memorable experience.

Angel

Wonderful experience! Wet and dry saunas and pools if varying temperatures. Restaurant on site (expensive). Watching the aufguss ceremony is magical. No in and out privileges.

Caurel Richards

Blows my mind every time! My place of solitude✌????

Kayla Buehler

Always a great time here! It's super neat to go in the winter! Just make sure you bring a winter hat to keep your ears warm!

Alexis Carlin

I had a fantastic time at this spa. My boyfriend and I decided to go on a Saturday evening which was the best since it quiets down a bit in the evening. We spent 4 hours there. Our favourite was the essential oil steam rooms and the exfoliating station! I even got to sit down and read a book in the outdoor lounge station. Def could have spent 8 hour's there no problem! We will be back to experience in the fall. Don't know if we would enjoy it during winter as much as we wouldn't get the full thermal experience from hot to cold... since we would probably want to stay in the heat most of the time.

Crystal Whyte

The thermal experience is the absolute perfect “me” day. Lunch is a must.

Catherine M

It's a nice place to get away in the city. I found that there were not many covered places to sit outside as it was raining the day we went. There were multiple areas to sit or lay down to relax indoors, and that was lovely. The locker rooms are a very tight fit. Way too many lockers for the small space. I couldn't change when I first got there because so many women were in one spot. Unfortunately, for a spa that is seemingly of high quality, the soaps they offer for use in the shower are of terrible quality. I will bring my own next time. I like that there was an option to bring your own robe. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly.

Cory Walpole

We enjoyed the relaxing day. Tried all saunas at least once. Was brave enough to walk underwater fall. I'd go again.

Don

A great experience. We only did the spa experience as we looked ahead at the menu and nothing appealed to us for the price you pay, and I’ve had negative experiences before with massage therapist at spas being just ok when compared to my regular massage therapist. The thermal cycles are wonderful and I’ve never been so relaxed in my life. The heated marble slabs made me feel like jello. However my problem was the relaxation parts were not big enough when it got busy, and the other visitors were very rude in not respecting the whispering policy and the staff did nothing to curb this. It was hard to find a quiet relaxation area near the end of our visit and cut our visit short as we were becoming annoyed due to the other people being inconsiderate. Also I found the saunas and vapour rooms were not hot enough. But I like wet saunas so hot it’s hard to breath when you first get set in. If I was reviewing this based on our last half hour, my rating would be two.

Michael Thompson

Great place to relax and rejuvenate. Excellent place as a couple or group of friends. No place like it Winnipeg or Manitoba. Fantastic for special occasions like New Year's eve. Add to your bucket list. The food is secondary to the spa experience. Try to eat elsewhere beforehand or after. Schedule massages with your own massage therapist. Winter vs summer has its own unique feel but both wonderful. Cheers

Lydia Calhoun

Love everything about this place. It's so chill. Great any time of year.

Jordan Froese

I think this must be the most relaxing place I have ever been. I love the many relaxation options. Steam rooms, dry sauna's, hot tub and the relaxation pavilion! Such a good experience and minimal interaction with staff was needed (huge bonus for me).

k. toews

4 different saunas and hot tubs and polar plunges make this place a delight for all those who love to sweat it out and be healthy. would have rated 5 star but there was so many wasps and i got stung.

Lisa Shane

Love this place, it was my 3rd time, there are new restrictions in place which make the experience better in some ways, but I missed some of things from before the pandemic

Chris Ing

Very good service but the other visitors don’t respect the quietness of Scandinavian spas. Staff do their best to try and keep visitors quiet without being overbearing. I would definitely like to see people kicked out though if they keep being loud.

Garage Gurus

With the pandemic regulations not worth the visit anymore. Just end up waiting mostly

Kere Zimmerman

Hands down would recommend Thermëa. We did the thermal access and lunch in the beginning of October and it was perfect. Stayed for almost 4 hours and wanted more. With tranquil sounds are playing everywhere it is an amazing place to decompress.

Lisa Ament

I went today for the first time and after many great reviews I was excited. But was dissapointed to say the least. Good points saunas and steam rooms. Really lame points . Hot tub not hot all all. Granted they had mentioned it was under maintenance ahead of time but said it would be good in an hour and it never got very hot. Heated hammock not heated and was too low so when you got in you touched the wood frame underneath. Heated seats with the road were not on and not even warm. Nap room heat wasnt working either. Plus it was quiet noisy, people could clearly be heard in the dry sauna which made it hard to relax. So ya, for $58 entry I will not be going back unless something happens to the quality of service for the price.the facility is nice , I will say that. But waaay too expensive for that many things not working and no advance notice (other than the hot tub?.

Georgina Knipe

Who would have thought all the outdoor spas and saunas could feel so good in minus 20 degree weather. If you want a great relax and spa for men or women with dining and relaxing this is the place. Stars out at night but steamy pools are great.

Blarim Sefa

Amazing. Great Place to go in Winnipeg for a thermal spa experience.

Devi Ramlu

Great place to unwind. The staff was amazing.

Graeme Fortlage

Parking lot is decent, didn't make it further than that. Thanks Google

Denise Crosbie

Love love love! I go here once every few months. Great to go by myself or with my husband. Aufguss is amazing and I love sitting out in the enclosed fire area, they have cozy blankets so even in winter it can be pretty cozy.

Kevin Guenther

Love this place! It's an adult playground… if playgrounds we're meant for relaxation. The food in the restaurant is delicious, but they really could use a few more staff. The service can be a little slow.

Luiza Baptista

Beautiful place! It was a bit too full for my taste. I was there on a Sunday and the morning was okay, but after 3 it started getting really full. The pools were at full capacity, as well as the sauna and resting rooms, so there was no place to stay other than the chairs outside.

Lucinda Gordon

This was a very memorable experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the spa experience. I would definitely recommend it to my friends, especially those who might need some relaxation. Thank you to Suzanne Dehaney for the gift certificate .

msgreenbunny1

The facilities are amazing and get commented on frequently but I want to acknowledge the professional staff who work with PEOPLE (let's not forget). They are to be commended for their helpfulness, cheerfulness and hospitality. A beautiful accommodation can be ruined by an attitude or mood. But that has never been my experience so once again, the people make the atmosphere. Well done, all!

Tyler Geisler

Always enjoy Thermea! Read a book, indulge in a spa to recharge your battery. Food is always great too!

Mo Subhan

Generally love this place. Recently went there for a massage and retreat, end up slipping near Polar Plunge due to ice build up, no warning signs, no salt or sand to prevent slipping, no one ice chipping to prevent injury. Had bleeding and scrapped wrist and knees. Bruised and swaollen wrist, knees, arm and lot of uncomfortable nights. One of the staff was nice to get us bandage, get us refund and help us open incident report. Manager was supposed to call me to follow up on the incident within a day or two...now a month and running with no phone call or follow up. - arrogance? Incompetent? Inefficient? Or just plain and simple don't care what happens to customers on your premise? My lawyer recommends under Occupier's Liability, as an invitee to their business, I could initiate a lawsuit due to their negligence. Seriously considering his advice, given not a single follow up or an apology.

Irene Neustaedter

I LOVE this place! What a great way to de-stress and forget about the world for a few hours. The restaurant is amazing with delicious options. My husband and I can't wait go back!

John S

This place is fantastic, I loved the low noise and complete dedication to the experience. The eucalyptus steam room was great coupled with going into the cold water really helps the body. I will be returning.

Justin Pauls

Excellent service and reasonable concessions for the pandemic.

Janice Heapy

Great massage and relaxing dip in the pools.

Jim Schubert

What an amazing experience. Silence, all sorts of water spa options from steam, to dry sauna to hot tub to ice waterfall. Wow!

Dimitris Protsios

The place to go to do something different for your self and your loved ones! If you manage to spend a full day in there you will definately going to feel rejuvenated and relaxed. All spas are wonderful and I suggest that you follow the suggested hot / cold cycle through them. There is an unbelievable relaxation area at the back of the spas in which you really feel you are in different world. For what they provide the price is very reasonable. Showers, dressing rooms and washrooms are very clean and have all that you will need. If you want to have lunch, diner or even a quick bite there is a nice lounge / restaurant / patio to enjoy it. Staff is welcoming, friendly and polite. Take your time and enjoy.

Lisa Kasdorf

I was very disappointed with my visit to the spa. I went there on Thursday, March 24th, which was the night before Good Friday. There was a line-up out the door to get in, and they had ONE poor girl checking people in and accepting payment at the reception desk. It was an hour wait to get into the dining room, and when we got in there, it was at least another hour before we got our food. They had another poor girl serving on the main floor all by herself. She apologized, but we told her that it wasn't her fault. Why they wouldn't have more staff on the night before a holiday long weekend that was leading into spring break is beyond me! This is definitely a management issue. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful, and the food in the restaurant was very good. It is disappointing that the service didn't live up to the facility. I will likely go back, but if I have the same experience again, then that's it. Too expensive for that kind of service.

L B

Nice atmosphere.

Lisa Morantz

The front desk always seems to be lined up, but the one staff or two staff people do remain calm. However. a lot of them do speak too quickly to understand any of the details they are describing. The area could be expanded to make the long lines seem shorter and not as cramped at check-in. The rules as to where liquor can be consumed are so blurred no one can see straight. First, we were told liquor can only be consumed in the relaxation areas and then a staff person told us we couldn't drink in the wooded relaxation area. When one of us seemed surprised,at this as it has the nicest seating, the individual told us that we had been "good" and that if we took our glasses back up when we were done, she'd allow us to drink there. So, after we "got away" with this the first time, it was easy to convince the next staff person to allow us to bring our drinks down there. At one point late in the evening, a staff person was heard to be saying guests couldn't drink in the open relaxation fire pit room. Previously, this area was not considered off-limits. Anyway, the whole Manitoba Liquor License and Thermea have to get on the same page, before someone gets called out. Restaurant and drink preparation is way too slow and food portions too small. Therema has to build a bigger game in the food/drink area; see it as a hotel or tropical resort, b/c right now, its just a small, understaffed, timid environment. Can always hear what staff are saying in the kitchen while we are at the table.

Chloe Weinheimer

Amazing place to spend the day! Wonderful restaurant as well

Geoff Hachey

Beautiful place to relax and take time out for yourself

I K (Kira)

Absolutely in love with environment. Cozy, clean and very relaxing. Was surprised by Infusion ritual at the Finn sauna. Beautiful girl explained what does it mean and started. Ethnic music, aroma oils and girl dancing with a towel, moving hot air on guests of Thermëa. Great experience! Meals were awesome too! So nice after relaxation have a bite of something light and healthy. Love to visit this place in winter and summer. Saunas and pools make such a great contrast with snow and cold in winter and in summer there are lots of areas to lay down, relax and tan. Really like beach area with hammocks and huge sand pillows. Tip: take a day off and spend 7-8 hours in Thermëa. That's what i usually do :)

Дмитрий Павлюченко

I enjoy swimming in the pool with hot water. There are 2 pools like jacuzzi here. Else there are 2 turkish styles sauna with eucalyptus and orange smell. There are good hot sauna in nord style. Every hour specialist doing show with towels. That show is very hot. And this terme have waterfall , relaxing zone, restaurant with delicious Canadian food.

Kyle Whitmell

If your not going to have the pools open until 11am it needs to be advertised so customers dont waste their time. Warning: Call before you go every time

Josh Jaques

Tried to Aufguss but guy was super rude and said we should have watched the clock if we wanted to make it in time. We looked at the clock together and it was only 4:58 when their sign says it starts at 5:00. Would have been a much better visit if they stayed on an exact schedule. They do announce with the gong, but we were there 8 hours and didn't hear it once. In the winter you spend a lot of time in various indoor areas of the resort and most places don't hear the gong. Was hoping to make the ceremony since the saunas aren't very warm normally. I emailed them about the rude staff member and got an automated response that I'd hear back in a day or two but it's been weeks and they haven't responded. Guest experience is seemingly low on their priority list.

Krianne Charell Villa

It was my 1st visit today with my mum-in-law and sister-in-law and it is a wellness experience indeed. We arrived there at around 930 and there was already a queue to check-in though it didn't take long. The check-in was fast and the lady who checked us in was friendly. It would have been good to have a brief introduction especially for first-time visitors about the experience and location of facilities. If you didnt read the website before hand, you'll be discovering things on your own and looking around confuse. Although things are labelled, a short introduction would have been good. The facility was clean enough and the food was also delicious (a bit overpriced in my opinion, though). We had a sandwich, featured soup, and chef specialty of the day. Our server explained the menu well, though she sounded very mechanical - like a robot- lacking interest and a little friendly conversation. I didn't mind but I just couldn't help noticing. We all enjoyed our experience and we'll definitely go back here again. I hope they add more of their indoor rest area. We had to wait 15 min for a spot in the sitting area.

Desirée Alarie

Very relaxing. Love the aufguss ritual in finlandia sauna where essential oil infused snow balls are thrown onto hot coals and attendant uses towels to distribute heat throughout. Recommend bringing in ice from barrel outside the room to cool yourself during the treatment. The top benches are the hottest. The facility is pretty nice and I love the smell of wood from the outdoor fires. I wish their menu was a bit healthier and they were more strict about people staying silent in the saunas though, often people are chatting away and I would like to enjoy some quiet heat. Other then that, very nice.

Samantha Kohanchuk

Over the weekend we went to Thermea, it was our first time and we really didn’t have any expectations.... we were just glad to get out and try something new. They were very clean and good with practicing social distancing, however I’d suggest not going there until Covid precautions are done. To start, it’s not cheap; and they aren’t fully open. The saunas operate every half hour for 15 minute sessions which gives them the same time to clean and sanitize. However because of limited capacity, they only allow 8-14 people per sauna and you have to wait in line for 10 minutes (or more depending how soon and how many people lined up already). On a nice summer day I wouldn’t mind the wait, but when you’re wet and it’s chilly out.. it’s not enjoyable (everyone we spoke with was unimpressed and curious how they will even operate during our winter months). They also don’t have any way of notifying patrons it’s time to make your way to line up.. you continuously have to ask staff what time it is which is so annoying.. or just keep an eye out for others lining up and hope for the best. Neither option is relaxing because who wants to follow a clock when you're trying to forget about time. Because of this, we were only able to do the “thermal experience” (sauna 15 , cold tub 5 , rest 20) 1 time in our 5.5 hours there. So we spent a lot of our time sitting around or in the hot tub. The restaurant was cozy and food was good! I was extremely disappointed that I was unable to use my Thermea gift card in the restaurant... $120.00 we weren't exactly planning on "spending". I will return at some point in the future, but I’ll wait so that I can enjoy everything they have to offer.

You'reNotTheBossOfMe

NO FIRES ANYWHERE ON SITE??? The wind was barely blowing, it was cold and drizzly. I wanted FIRES. Big gripe for me. Also part ofva shower handle in the orange infusion room cut my hand. I informed staff and was given a bandaid. Front desk was snarky and short with us. We're not doing you a favor we are paying good money. Restaurant was slow but the food was great. Otherwise, great. Go on the off days... Once it gets crowded the place loses its magic.

Candice Lui

Had terrible customer service at reception as they were quite rude. The facility is unkept with pooling water in the areas that are deemed "dry". Also, if you want to use a gift certificate at Thermea, you must use it towards services and products. If there is monetary value left on your gift certificate, they will not reissue the remaining balance. You are forced to spend it in their shop.

Nicole Duff

I say it's ok. Massages AMAZING when they were open for the actual full experince that was awesome. The online though double triple check sometimes the date refers back to the actual date and makes plans for same day and they don't reimburse at all I was quite sad when I needed a massage planning for a day off an here it was same day I was heartbroken.

Brian Kinash

Always awesome... Better when it's not the holiday period as they lift the silence rule during the holidays and it's better when it's in effect

Jean-Michel Molin

Excellent service. Food pricey but nicely plated and high quality. Very enjoyable experience. Very clean. Lots to do. If you need a break, you can even have a nap! I loved the heated hamac outside in tge dead of winter. It was windy and I got rocked as a bonus.

Cliff Le Cat

Such a beautiful spa. Its hard not to feel godlike when you're soaking and relaxing your cares into a puddle. The decor is a bold fusion of classic and modern, with a calming, natural element. My favorite was the eucalyptus steam. It felt so cleansing and enriching. Please, do yourself a favor and take the opportunity to experience this paradise.

Bob Davies

A place where senses come alive. You rotate through a thermal cycle from hot to warm to cold and then you rest. If you're going with a friend who is very chatty, don't; silence and meditation is encouraged. Flavour filled, healthy bristo. Massages available. If going in the winter, always bring your flip-flops. if you want to save $12, bring a house coat.

Riley Buisse

My treatment was amazing and the girl who did it was so sweet and lovely! I think her name was Cassandra but I lost my paper with her name on it! But she was so awesome. The pool was clean and beautiful but I felt crowded in the pool and changerooms.

Brian Lamoureux

We used to love coming here, but after today I don't think I'll be back. They advertised that they've reduced capacity due to COVID, but that's clearly a lie. There was literally nowhere we could go on the grounds to enjoy our experience while social distancing. Every amenity was past capacity. We were in and out in less than half an hour. This was absolutely unacceptable. If a business is going to accept payment before allowing entry, they need to make sure there's room to accommodate people, first. When we complained, the manager told us that they were actually under their allowable capacity, meaning we didn't even see them at their worst.

Derrick Lee

We had a great time out to Thermea since Covid. We were able able to enjoy everything as before covid. We enjoyed a basil pizza made fresh to order from a wood fired pizza oven.

Jodi Goerzen

The saunas are not hot. The customer service is horrible, I've never experienced such rudeness on the phone. The restaurant is an overpriced joke. The heated hammocks are amazing but they only put them out in winter. The steam rooms are nice, but always too full of people. I really wonder what they pay their staff to provide these great services.

Benjamin Cheater

Wonderful time at Thermea. Lily was fabulous! She explained the thermal cycle to us and gave us a thorough tour if the facility. Halloween was a good time to visit as the number of people there was low which added to the relaxing experience. :) Thank you for the great first visit Lily!

Don Mitchell

Awesome service - the best! Expensive, but you get what you pay for.????

Musky F

Beautiful spot. Worth the cost.

kyle MCLEOD

Not a spa guy but! Take your better half and rock the peppermint and snowball steam rooms! Wow what a great relaxing spa for the average person who does not like spas...a full experience great in the winter

Brady Friesen

Always a good experience. Relax to the max!

Kara

Amazing stay, love the whole experience, especially the eucalyptus and orange steam rooms and scrub. I wish people would be quieter there but sometimes you can't control others volume.

Tim Brenan

Fantastic place .I like the addition of the beach area .first time this year I went in the summer so I had a chance to use it. I do find that winter, on a warmer day just has the best ambiance.

John Hampton

Very relaxing, clean, professional! They don't seem to do a great job informing people about the quite policy, don't really enforce it, and do serve alcohol though, so it's louder than other spas I've been too. Also a little smaller and more expensive than elsewhere in Canada. Besides those minor issues, it really is a great experience and there is nowhere better on the prairies that I know of

Rubin Hoffmann - Realtor

Great experience. 100% covid free!!

Julian Kenny

Thermea was an experience. It was a very relaxing place to have a afternoon with my fiance. We enjoyed it very much. We stayed for 5 hours, I feel like 2 would of been enough though. Will come back.

Klaus Rong

The best hot tubs I’ve ever been in winnipeg. Can’t find anything else better

Bryce Bastiaanssen

A very relaxing, the staff are very very nice! Great massages and decent food! Great for a stay-cation and personal get away!

Shravan RVSR

Thermëa is a perfect place if you are looking for a romantic getaway for a day or half a day. It is a very good place to visit with your friends and/or family as well. This place offers good selection of steam rooms (orange and eucalyptus), exfoliation station, dry sauna and sauna where the it is infused with essential oils once an hour. Every odd hour there is an extended infusion time with three essential oils. There are three different types of pools. Cold, medium hot and hot pools based on your requirement. There is a relaxation station with very calming music where you can relax or read a book and there is also a room with relaxation beds, where you can relax or sleep. You can book thermal experience where you get access to all the pools and saunas or you can book a massage or you can book one of the packages with thermal experience and a selection of massage. Bathrobes can you brought by our own or can be rented at the location. Don’t forget to bring slippers and winter hat (toque) during winters as the pools are located outdoors. Of course bring sunglasses and sunscreen in the summers. Different types of massages are offered. It is highly recommended to book in advance, especially in the weekends as it will be very busy. The therapists are very patient to listen to you and work on your body based on your request and requirement. Over all, We had a very nice experience with Thermëa and we would definitely return.

Julio Dusablon

A great experience. Beautiful scenery, all amenities are here to spoil yourself and get some quiet time away from hectic life and phones. The only reason I can't give 5bstars is the price, which is absolutely prohibitive to many folks.

D. Ryan Shaw

Incredibly relaxing, very interesting experience. My wife felt that it melted her anxieties away. The food was delicious -- especially the apple pie with gouda cheese! Pretty pricey, though. Very nice, clean facility. My one complaint is the cheap single ply toilet paper. For that reason, I can only bring myself to give it a four star rating.

Steve Regert

Really enjoyed the experience with my wife. Only thing that could be improved is the patio seating arrangements so it allows for more distinct groups of 2 to 4 to sit by themselves rather than the large benches with shared tables.

Izabela Rachwal

I wish the QUIET sign was up in all the common areas. Its a busy, crowded place. When all the people whisper it sounds like a beehive. It could be more relaxing if people respected others. Its not a party, catch up place.

Matthew lavallee

Beautiful spa, although its still closed due to the pandemic, but definitely a place to come when it opens again

Emily Clark

The most amazing, luxurious way to spend a day.

Jose Martinez

Great experience ..relaxing and fun. very clean . more variety in their drink and food menu would go a long way. definitely NOT A FAN of getting shushed by staff when quietly speaking to my wife (luckily i hadn't had any beers at that point) as i know there is a whisper only thing happening .. that aside .. the facility is pretty well equipped for a relaxing journey.

This is definitely a 'do not miss' while in Winnipeg. I have been during every season, and I would say that spring, summer, and fall would be my favorites. I found the polar bear pool to be unbearably cold in winter, but invigorating throughout the other seasons. I have found that the tutorial upon signing in is really rather hit-and-miss. A few things that I would suggest to people attending: 1. leave your robe in your locker. If you pay for a robe rental, you are only paying for one robe and they will not give you additional robes. This is never been a problem for us, but I have heard other guests getting upset that they could not get a second robe, or that they would have to pay for another one. You will be in and out of pools all of the time. Your robe will become saturated and heavy. 2. There are towels available at different locations throughout the spa. Feel free to use them. 3. Not everyone is told about the salt scrubs available in the same building as the wet saunas. 4. If you decide to have a massage during your thermal experience, you might want to bring a second bathing suit. It's not really great to come out of a warm massage bed into a cold wet bathing suit to head back downstairs. 5. The best time of day to go, at least for us, has been immediately after lunch. Expect to spend anywhere from three to five hours for your thermal experience. We have found that the spa food is both expensive and not particularly appealing to us, so we find having a large lunch followed by an afternoon at the spa is the best way to make it through the afternoon.

As a person who has gone to Thermea in the past and has previously enjoyed the experience, I was very unimpressed with how Thermea is running their business with COVID in mind. Immediately on entering, my bridal shower party (4 of us, most of which are family), was told at reception that we had to social distance for the rest of our experience at Thermea. We were not allowed to sit beside each other in the hot tubs, lounge chairs, saunas, etc. This was enforced by the staff. We all completely understand that Thermea wants to maintain the health and safety of themselves and their clients. However, nowhere was this communicated on their website prior to booking the Thermal experience that we actually wouldn't be 'allowed' to be near the people we are enjoying the experience with. As well, it is illogical for members of the same household to have to social distance. Another aspect of the experience was the limited capacity of the pools and saunas. We spent 30+ minutes in line waiting to get in a sauna, and usually 10 minutes to get in the pools. Nowhere was this aspect communicated on the website as well. In the end, I was very unimpressed with my experience at Thermea, and would definitely not recommend going until the pandemic is over, as it is not worth your time and money.

Fre Eha

1. The staff were bothering me. They asked to smell my water bottle three times in one evening. 2. I woke up the next day with itchy red eyes and a patch of athlete's foot. Even though I wore sandals everywhere. 3. The bracelets are way too big. I didn't want to risk mine falling off so I left it in my boot. Someone must have seen me, because my locker was rummaged through. 4. Robes cost $12 to rent and if you get them wet, they won't give you another one. Even if it is frozen solid. $72 well wasted. However, the food and cocktails were great.

Justin Woodcock

Had multiple great experiences here. Went in -27°c weather and it was a nice relaxing time. Used a wine and cheese gift certificate at the bistro and after asking if I could swap one glass of wine for a coffee, they said no, but instead they comped the Americano for free and we still received two glasses of wine. Was a really nice gesture. It's 50$ approx for just the pools/steam room/saunas and it's definitely worth it. I always bring a book and spend a few hours enjoying the environment.

Nastya Hnyp

Good for relaxation and spend some day with friends and family

Tony C

Minor complaints about this place. Only reason it didn't get five stars is because of the levels of noise in the sleeping/relaxing rooms where there should definitely be no noise. The showers and change rooms are horrible for such a beautiful facility. No room to change, and showers are in need of repairs.

Tourism Winnipeg

Your cabin in the summer and your sauna in the winter. Go early as it fills up fast, and make sure to take in an aufgus in the dry sauna - a truly relaxing experience!

Karen Palmer

Incredible place to relax and unwind. It feels like you've left the city completely. Had to wait a bit before we could get in but it was worth it. Even filled to capacity it wasn't over crowded.

Alexa Lacroix

Food was great, not too busy. Super relaxing and was a larger selection of lounge areas than anticipated. Went in the afternoon and stayed until close, time flew by.

Jas Dhillon

Worst customer service experience. The managers do not want to talk to you and directly charge money to your credit card. I would stay away from them! Had to cancel appointment due to medical emergency still got fully charged. No humanity. I would avoid at all costs! The customer service rep offered a rescheduling, however the manager did not even talk to me and denied that that option and fully charged me for it. Shameful!

Synnova Asselstine

Such a peaceful and relaxing place with a lot of different things to do. I went in the winter and the blanket of frost on everything was absolutely breathtaking! I highly recommend giving this spa a try.

Grant Kummen

Bliss. The cold pool at the beginning of the day seemed like a terrible idea, but as the day got on, the hot-cold-relax credo made a ton of sense. The orange scented steam room was amazing, and the towel dance in the Finnish spa was as entertaining as it was relaxing. Lunch was good too, if a little pricey. Loved it all, though.

Achilis Cortes

Highly recommended for winter vacation. Good for couples.

Alex Loewen

Very relaxing and great service in the restaurant

Johanna De Vries

So a few girlfriends flew in from out of town and we spent the day at Thermea looking to connect and relax. It was delightful! We enjoyed the pools and had a very enjoyable visit with Josh the bartender. The boards on the menu were delicious and perfect for our group. We spent 6 hours there unwinding and enjoying the experience. Would recommend. The only reason not giving 5 stars is 2 of our 3 massages were unsatisfactory. Otherwise a great day!! Means Girls

Elena B

Very nice place!

the krusty krab

me and my friend went to thermea for the first time and we both hated it LMFAO. literally super boring with nothing to do but go in the pool and sit in the sauna. thank god we went for free bc i would not pay $75/person to go. i'm actually shocked this place is still open in the middle of covid considering no one wears their mask. also to the couple who was making out in the pool - ya'll are disgusting. stay home weirdos

Yris San Gabriel

I think the place is too small for the amount of people they let in. They ran out of mens' lockers so I had to shove 2 bags in a tiny locker. Food looked and tasted better than the last time I was here before they expanded the restaurant. Although, for the price, it wasn't worth it. Service was great though. I enjoyed my time better at Kananaskis Nordic Spa.

Adrian May

I enjoyed my visit here as usual and found it even better than usual as it was less crowded due to Covid restrictions. A few small issues could be rectified; no hot or warm water in shower adjacent to the steam room; indoor fireplace in rest area hasn't been operational in recent memory.

Philip

Been there 8 times, fantastic and relaxing! Staff are great and the restaurant is delicious and a great experience aswell!!

Wesley Takeo Konrad

Had an enjoyable time. Staff were very accommodating. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Lots of options. I particularly enjoyed the steam room with essential oils. Two things I would have liked to have seen 1) the hottest bath was not all that hot (39C). I would prefer a hotter option. 2) Gender segregated natural bathing as is more common in Asia and Europe. Although I can understand this might be uncomfortable for a North American clientele, so this did not affect my rating.

reid kennedy

This establishment is perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries and Birthdays. Not only is the spa clean and relaxing, there is an amazing array of food they have available in their restaurant within the spa. I have been here multiple times and it's been great each time. I recommend going on a cold winters day. It is also much cheaper going on a week day rather than the weekend. The only thing wrong with the place is they charge extra for the robes.

MooChelle

This place is my go to for relaxation. The Cafe is also excellent! This place has never let me down! I have recommended this spa to all my friends!

melissa

Went this morning to enjoy some time relaxing only to be poorly greeted by one of the Therma staff. In the past you were able to go enjoy the thermal experience at any time, with only having to book appointments for more customized treatments. When we arrived this am we were disappointed to find out that entrance is not permitted without a on-line booking. We were turned away with no offer to have the staff member check to see if they had any openings available to enjoy the outdoor experience & register us if they did. Extremely poor customer service & I would not recommend Thermea to anyone.

Krista Marion

Goodness! I love this place! It doesn't matter what season it is, it is always enjoyable. It is so much more than just saunas and hot tubs. I love hanging out in the hammocks or reading a book in the lounger. Sharing Smores by the fire or sangria on the patio is a must! Don't miss the salt scrub room where the aromatherapy steam rooms are in Vaporo. This place is a must visit whether you live in Winnipeg or are just visiting. The Aufgus ritual is something to be experienced. It is a performance in the Finlandia sauna that amuses all the senses with aromatic essential oils diffused on the hot rocks and then fanned by the Aufgus Meister. Winnipeg is unbelievably lucky to have a place like this. And the best part is you don't even feel like you are in the city anymore.

Kelsey

Went here with my boyfriend for my birthday and had a great time as always but, it started off on a rough note because we drove into the parking lot in our lower set car and just destroyed the bottom of it in the unavoidable holes or should I say craters which put us in a bad mood going in.. there were other people in normal cars scrapping their cars as well. I just think if you are going to charge $15 per drink you can fix a simple gravel parking lot. Other wise our massages were fantastic and relaxing and staff were friendly as always and facilities were clean and organized.

Amber Roloff

I can't decide if I love it here more in the winter or the summer.

Andrew Schmidt

Really enjoy this place. You can literally spend all day here relaxing. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because some folks have a hard time being quiet in a place that requires it. The experience isn't part of our culture, so it's hard to get people to just NOT TALK. Things also don't always work as intended. I've been multiple times and something is ALWAYS wrong. For instance: No hot water in the steam room showers, no music in the relaxa, NO FIRE IN THE FIRE PIT IN OCTOBER!?! They're so close to being world class but the details just aren't there.

Kenny Gionet

1st time going here it was an amazing experience even during covid....I'm sure this place was bumping I will def come back!!

Derek Schmidt

Very very relaxing. Great staff. Clean!

Kristina Weaver

Check in/out was a bit frustrating. Booked spa services and went to check in in the “VIP” line yet still had to wait past all the pool use ppl, then instead of being given the receipt for insurance purposes right after paying at the start, was told to return after services to collect the insurance receipt and made to wait again through the line, don’t really understand that waste of time. (I see another reviewer also felt check in/out was a disaster so perhaps this is something that should be addressed) The spa services were lovely and Cassandra who did my facial did an amazing job! Would recommend her for sure! Sadly we were not told at check in of all the amenities like how the pools work or of the various huts and heated cocoons etc. Which is a bit disappointing as I feel there was so much more to offer that we weren’t aware of. :( The waiting room for the spa services was a bit dull compared to some other spa waiting rooms and had more of a doctors office waiting room feeling then a spa. All in all I would give it another go as they do offer some amazing things, and the facial was worth it. just wish they gave a break down at check in. A little map or something. I’m from out of town though so probably won’t happen anytime soon.

Jeremy Colli

Unsatisfactory experience. Was unable to enjoy the entire experience and was just sent home 50minutes after arriving. After calling back i learned its a 3 week wait for any refunds.

Gordon Pritchard

Facilities are wonderful. But the place is a victim of its success. Two Issues: 1. Too many people, not enough space. 2. Hottest tub was like luke warm - very disappointing. Place needs to invest in some additional spaces to accommodate numbers. Alternatively, a second location would be welcomed. Facilities very clean, staff were nice. Grade: C

Sandy B

Great spa, so much to try.. delicious lunch in restaurant!

TheFlipguy

This place is AMAZING!!! I highly recommend this place of you and to relax and unwind! I was visiting Winnipeg and my sister took me to this place. Just driving in, you can feel serenity and as we pulled into the gate, we were greeted with a bunch of deer just hanging out grazing. Walking in, the place looks amazing, the staff was friendly and very accommodating. We tried all the pools, saunas, and pretty much everything this place had to offer (except the massage as they were fully booked that day) and overall very pleased with everything. We also went and had dinner here and again, the resto and food we got didn’t disappoint. Also, kudos to our server, he was friendly and very funny!!!! I will definitely come back here again next time I’m in town!

Tannis Knox

Wish there were double doors to the dry saunas. As soon as someone comes in the room cools off and you lose your relaxation zone you are in.

Cannon

My husband and I had a great and super relaxing time. In Covid times, I would recommend bringing multiple face masks, as it will inevitably get wet when you bring it into a steamy sauna or forget to take it off when going under the iceber waterfall ????‍♀️ Oops! Also, definitely check out the Relaxa hut! There are these great zero-g style benches, perfect for reading or just zoning out! There is also a back area where you can lay down for a little meditation (read snooze) on either comfy gym class style mattresses or a HEATED ROCK SLAB ❤️ Delightful!

Sarah Morin

Beautiful place but the massage was standard and a lot more than most places charge. It also started later than the scheduled time and ended 5 minutes early which was off putting. You are then expected to leave a tip.

Hans Herbert

Got ringworm after being here, sanitation at this place is a concern. I used lots of public swimming pools and gyms in the past and never got ringworm... won't come back to this place for sure.

Chieko Hashimoto

Came here with a group of female runners. We had wine and cheese in the upstairs first. They were great. Then we went to the spa. There are hot tubs with different temperatures. There are many saunas to sweat out ans detox. I love the misty suana and the body salt. After the salt massage, my skin feels so soft. The salt also encourages to sweat even more. What's more? They have herb teas and benches to take a nap. Thermea is a great place to relax and refresh

Ezekiel Ramadan

Fantastic, had Swiss massages by massage thrapist; Julian. Awesome place with very professional staff and service. Looking forward to going back there frequently, it's worth every penny.

Marcy Grace

Amazing service, not too busy when we went. Bistro is INCREDIBLE....price is well worth it. I always recommend this place to friends, and I recommend it to anyone who may be thinking of going here. Just dont go during holidays or on the weekends....too busy.

Taylor Plett

I really like going when the weather is warm enough to enjoy the outdoor areas, but cool enough to enjoy the saunas and steam rooms as well. The day we went was perfect! Also, the new capacity limits make it feel a lot less crowded then when it was full capacity pre-COVID, I really hope they consider keeping the appointment system for the spa experience in the future. Our meal, drinks and service were all fantastic!

Mandy Hyatt

Goooorgeous, and so relaxing. I never get tired of being here. $60 to spend as much time soaking in the pools and sitting in saunas as your heart desires is well worth the price. The restaurant is expensive, but well worth it if you're feeling luxe.

Theo De Silva

I want to give this place 5 stars. I really do. But when we were there, there was construction happening and it was very disruptive to the experience. We were not warned beforehand about it. There was also a lot of people who were screaming and I felt the whisper only rule was not being enforced by staff. When I was having a meal in the restaurant I also had a bug in my water. The waitress was very kind and apologetic. My last concern was the headphones in the resting area didn't work properly and need to be replaced. The actual spa experience was fantastic. I was thoroughly impressed with the thermal experience and the infused steam rooms were fantastic. This is a spa I would still recommend to anyone who wants a great spa experience.

Judy McCormick

What can I say other than wow! Just kidding, I can say a lot, and I usually do. I read all the complaints before going and I have to say the people who complained must just be really grouchy people to begin with. I rented a robe. It was clean and comfortable. The facitilies were clean. The staff answered all my questions. Using the wrist band to open the lockers was not complicated. I used everything within the facilities. If one area was taken up, like the relaxation beds, I just went back later. Guests were courteous, staff were helpful. If some guests brought sandals into a spa room or forgot a towel the staff would just make an announcement that fresh towels were outside and a friendly reminder to leave sandals outside. For a lot of guests being there the first time the announcements were good reminders of the ettiquette. No phones are allowed in the spa so I couldn't take pictures to show how beautiful it was. The brochure has it all...there were no surprises. I made sure to hang up my robe to keep it dry. Towels are plentiful, the robe is yours for the day. Smart guests brought their book in a ziplock bag. My book however didn't get wet. I enjoyed a great lunch and paid for it on my bracelet. This is a wonderful relaxing retreat for one, couples or groups.

Rob Grantham

I always feel rejuvenated after an evening at Thermea.

Michael McCaffrey

Spa was great; massage was not. This was my experience... I came in on New Year's eve for a couple's massage with my wife. Hers was great, but mine was not. **The Massage:** 1. the whole thing was disjointed. The therapist never spent more than 2-3 minutes massaging me at a time before she would fuss about, slide the table a few inches this way or that, fuss with the blankets, walk around to the other side, get something from the table... never really got a chance to sink in and enjoy/relax. 2. the therapist constantly talked about 'nose breathing' and how the root of all problems in the body start with not breathing through the nose. She repeatedly asked me things like, "what is the essence of the body's health" (expecting the answer, "nose breathing"). She didn't pick up on any cues I gave with short, quiet, unenthusiastic answers to her questions... her chatter even took away from my wife's relaxation massage in the adjoining room. 3. the therapist was not without skill when she actually had hands on body... she had that going for her... I only wish she spent the 60 minutes actually massaging me rather than fussing about and talking. **How their Management Responded to my complaint:** I brought this up with management before I left that night. The supervisor said "that sounds awful" and "don't worry, we'll make this right for you and speak with the therapist". Heard nothing for 3 weeks. So I followed up again with a phone call a week ago. Apparently no incident/complaint had been reported. So I explained the situation again. I heard back from them today (7 days later) that they would pass the feedback on to the massage therapy coordinator to ensure the feedback was passed on to the therapist. They apologized to me but also snuck in this: "During therapeutic massages such as a Deep Tissue, it is not uncommon for the therapist to engage in a conversation with the client as communication is a very important part of the therapeutic process. In instances like these you most definitely can let your therapist know that you would prefer a silent massage." This tells me that they don't hold their therapists accountable for picking up on very obvious cues from their patients. Confronting someone in the middle of a massage and asking them to 'please stop talking' would have (in my opinion) created an immediate awkward silence that would have lasted the duration of the massage.... I've never had an issue with this before... and I wouldn't expect the issue again if I went back with a different therapist... Only reason I'm posting this review is because (a) bad experience and (b) even worse follow-up from management to resolve the issue.

Dilendra Wanigasekara

Always a good time here. Pricing has increased quite a bit since they first opened, and online booking is a must due to higher demands. New restaurant area is a nice a touch. Best to go for the whole day in my opinion ????

Susie Lin

The reception is a bit small for the amount of people signing in. The experience was great on a November -15C evening. It would be more comfortable if we had brought to bring a toque or sandles but we enjoyed it very much. Winniepegers are lucky to have a place like this near by.

Janine Reid

Tranquil setting for a day of relaxation and pampering. Love the guided hot cold cycles and steam rituals. Kicking back in the hammock chairs in the shade with a book was bliss.

Morayo Okunrinboye

I had a great thermea experience. I liked the eucalyptus and orange steam rooms. Well kept environment as well

mel mat

Amazing experience every time! I wish I could come here more often. Massages are the best also! Super relaxing and wonderfully set up :)

Luis Ramirez

Beautiful place, very relaxing and enjoyable. We planned to be there for the entire day but after 5 hours it got a bit boring because you repeat the same cycle over and over. I would say 4 hours is enough.

Dan Krumholz

Overall great experience. My only complaint would be that we tried entering the infussion room at 9:00 p.m but could not get in because for some reason you have to be 15 minutes earlier. (Something no one told us) and that was the last one for the day so we missed it.

Dan schellenberg

Pros: Great layout of temperate, hot and cold pools. Dry and wet saunas as well as places to chat and read. Bond over the salt scrub (choose lavender as eucalyptus too strong) Clean towels provided freely, flavored water and tea. Secure locker area. Cons: Heavily chlorinated (couldn't they have used salt instead?), poor and oft-times non-existent service (i.e. be prepared to wait 20 minutes for any request to the front desk). Hint - avoid excruciating wait times to check in by booking a massage and breezing straight in. Avoid the restaurant due to poor staffing. The parking lot is a disaster - bring your rubber boots to wade through massive potholes and puddles. The temperatures have been turned lower over the years which can lead to user disappointment.

Laurissa Brown

10/10 recommend. Beautiful environment, friendly staff and so relaxing!!

Luis Ramirez

Beautiful place, very relaxing and enjoyable. We planned to be there for the entire day but after 5 hours it got a bit boring because you repeat the same cycle over and over. I would say 4 hours is enough.

Joanne McDonald

Lovely! Was there on a Saturday and it was a tad crowded for my liking but overall a great experience.

Kartik Wadhwa

Peaceeeew

Sandra Duffield

Amazing experience! Best spa experience I have ever had. It is worth the extra coin for sure. The only odd thing was that they put more money onto your credit card at the beginning as a "credit" in case you need more money. My friends and I thought it was odd that they would do this. If we want to eat in the restaurant, we can go back to our lockers and do that.

Sarika

Meh!!! Only went for a couples massage and it was not worth $250. We have other experiences to compare it to. There’s nothing special about a “door” opening up between the walls. Also, when I go to a place that charges what they do, I expect to at least know they take care of their establishment. The upstairs bathroom was gross, it needs a makeover. The trash bin was full, the walls apparently need repair and paint. The parking lot was literally one giant hole after the next. Drive your car carefully there. The check in area was so overwhelming with scent. I’ve been to many spas and fully expect the scents but WHOA!! The massages we each had were ........ lack luster. We both got the sweedish and we both had different experiences.... that’s odd. Should have been the same. Hate to say something so negative about the young inexperienced ladies who worked on us but their lack of skill shows. I will gladly go back to my regular salon for my $80 massage and never again fall into the hype of what Thermea tends to be in this city.

Dodgie Dator

Amazing place to relax and the restaurant is awesome

Jonathan Trudel

had my first massage here and they were great on showing me the ropes and explaining everything. nice rooms and the therapist i had was great!. Definitely coming back!

Hannah C.

Some people complain about the whisper/silence policy, but I honestly don't think they enforce it enough. I want to go there to relax, and that's hard to do when people keep talking like they don't know what whispering is. That being said, the grounds and facilities are nice and clean, however I find their showers in the change room a bit cramped. The thermal experience is a nice way to spend a day- by yourself or with one other person is ideal, again, because of the whisper policy. The meal I had was excellent and they were very accommodating for my dietary restrictions- nice and light so I could continue my spa day without feeling too heavy or bloated. I think I still prefer Ten at the Fort Garry, but I would definitely come again.

REN P.

Awesome experience

Oksana Ulisko

In person experience with front desk & RMT is always excellent! Trying to book RMT only - via phone or online - is a customer service nightmare. Actually impossible over multiple attempts. Please fix for a consistent experience across all brand platforms.

Kim

This was a new experience, but I wasn't a fan of the main sauna show...very hot and crowded. But there was a variety of places to relax. I also wasn't a fan of the food in their restaurant... But that's my taste, not that the food wasn't good.

lorie nash

Really great esp. For visitors to Wpg. Lots to enjoy a true spa outing. No deals but good value.

Tanner Pescitelli

Always a great time, very relaxing and they are doing a good job with social distancing and Covid precautions

No SAUCE

Went with my mom for the first time a couple weekend ago. For the most part it was a great experience. For the most part staff are okay. The girls at the front seemed annoyed about us asking questions. I am sorry if it's our first time but no need to make it seem like such a burden to answer some questions for first timers. So we stopped asking and just figured out stuff on our own. Make sure if you go in the winter to bring a beanie or headband to cover your ears. Trust me. Another thing bring your own flip flops don't buy a pair of their $10 flip flops it adds up if you gotta buy one or more pairs. Just buy a cheap pair and bring them. The thermea ones aren't that special. The sauna was great but at one point their was a certain smell that almost made me puke. So if you're sensitive to certain smells I'd be careful in the saunas. Overall great experience.

Yuri DC

Would go back here again ???? it's just really good and relaxing ????????

Yuri DC

Would go back here again ???? it's just really good and relaxing ????????

Ryan Hayes

It's great. Everything as advertised and probably better. No issues at all. Was happy to check out the restaurant too which was not originally part of the plan.

Adelaide Recabarren

I love this place. It's so relaxing and peaceful.

Marian Alejo

Had a wonderful time relaxing with my friends. Day well spent here at thermea. I recommend their thermal experience. ????

Christina Quist

A very relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. The food is excellent, worth the price and is what I expect with gormet. It's comparable to food I had at the Wakefield Mill Inn in Gatineau. Facilities are clean and staff are exceptional. The upstairs spa/ massage area is nicely done. It's my favourite place in all of Winnipeg to come and unwind. I absolutely love the whisper/ silent policy. The only note I can add is to enforce the whisper/ silence policy more strictly. Twice I went it was perfect, the third several times there were people who had no clue how to whisper and came to socialize rather than relax. That was extremely frustrating because the silence is a big part of what make the experience so amazing. I still give five stars because it's so well run and a beautiful retreat to escape to in the city.

Jon Alford

Went in the beginning of March as a newcomer. Prices were not horrible as you got access for the entire day. Being an outdoor spa, if you go in the winter I would totally recommend going after sunset and also bringing a toque as your hair will freeze solid. Things also start to quiet down closer to close, and if you want the most peaceful experience I wouldn’t recommend going during the day as it was pretty packed.

Jessie Sangster

Change room was very crowded and honestly not the cleanest. Outside pools and saunas were very crowded as well. You would think for paying so much money you would want a bit more space to enjoy the amenities. If you are a germiphobe this is not the place for you ????. Some areas request that you remove your sandals to enter which bothered me. I had a Swedish massage - David was my RMT. He was fantastic, very professional, massage was great! He definitely gets five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The outdoor area was very beautiful and I believe it could be very relaxing if it was less crowded and the change rooms had a better set up and were cleaner. I likely won't go again. ????

MK

Many different features to visit, eucalyptus steam room found to be the best. Staff seemed very attentive to make sure everybody is feeling ok. Resturant food is really good, but on the expensive side. Would recommend if you are looking to relax.

Angelina Macken

Three outdoor different temperature hot tubs and a bunch of aromic, dry and wet saunas

srushti govinda

Dont forget to try the food here, its top notch just like their property and service

Nice spa, a few showers are under renovations and the new patio is not open yet. The food is tasty but small portions and food is expensive for portion sizes. Good sauna with dancer and scented essential oil infused snow balls. Two Steam rooms which are comfortable but feel slimy. Great large multi person hot tub. A nice small mineral water cold water pool to cool off. Exfoliating salts available to clean off dead skin cells and showe off. Showers available to cool off. Free infused water stations and some free tea at one station. One fireplace to relax by.

My boyfriend and I went to Thermea for a day off from work. Overall the experience was awesome. However we had some weird blips that took us out of feeling relaxed. At one point they allowed us to access another space they just recently built, it comes off more corporate and the lighting isn't the greates, the light temp was too different. There is a TV playing a fake fire. It would have been nice if it was at least heated, since you have to walk in the cold and banana around the sun room outside. There is just some trees and fencing thrown down on the right that looks like an afterthought in terms of the design. Overall the space just feels like you'd have meetings there and could talk shop. In general they have issues knowing where to shuffle people. Just ask if we are having dinner or just drinks and that would clarify where we should go. Then we went to the nap room to nap, and there was this woman yelling drunkenly about something, and it went on for like 5-10 minutes. One of the patrons had to yell at them that this is a no talk zone. The drunk woman also stole my boyfriend's mask and tossed it on the ground. There was also a lot of people talking in the hot tub area. I'm not sure if Thermea was understaffed that day but the talking was a problem and we had to go speak to the front desk. They did send someone with a Shh sign later but it was hard to see it. I also wasn't wearing my glasses. The last annoyance is they started blasting these really bright lights on the pool at night. I'm not sure if that's for safety purposes or to supervise people more efficiently, but they absolutely kill any relaxing mood that was there. I get it if they turn them on 15 minutes before close, to get people out, but it was on for like 2-3 hours. Turn that damn LED light panel off, it ruins your beautiful lighting ambiance. Then I got a massage and it went right to close time. So I figured they would allot time for me to shower and get ready to go. They gave me enough time to shower and get dressed but I couldn't blow dry my hair. It's a first world problem, but if I'm paying a ton of money to be there, They can at least give me 5 minutes to make my hair not freeze outside. Overall, it was still a great experience, we had the tartar on a cloud and old fashions, so delicious. But they gotta streamline their staff on behavioral issues of the patrons and fix the lighting/recdnt new extension.

New booking system is helpful in ensuring shorter waits to get in; the walkways were iced up in spots today.

Went with a friend on a weekday in the fall for the thermal experience. Thoroughly enjoyed all the saunas (especially Vaporo), pools, and relaxation areas. We rented robes which was great for the chilly weather. Love that there is infused water, water fountains and tea available to stay hydrated. Super enjoyed the essential oil salt exfoliation, heated hammocks, and hot stone relaxation area. Also, it's helpful that there are signs and instructions throughout so you know when to use towels or not, what areas are meant for silence vs. Whisper friendly, etc. Will definitely be going again!

I have been to many spas across the world, and this by far was one of my best experiences. It is beautiful, with great attention to detail. The quality of the facility and the restaurant are fantastic. And surprisingly, you get real value for your money. You do not feel gouged. I wish I lived in a city that had such a spa.

ive been to thermea multiple times in the past couple years (always for thermal experience), would give this place 5 stars but i have a couple comments regarding it. location: absolutely beautiful, good amount of parking, never had an issue with parking, in a perfect area of the city service upon arrival: service has been good everytime ive gone when arriving, besides the fact that the people at the front could maybe be a little friendlier. locker room: very cramped and lockers are small but i love that they have change rooms, showers, toilets, a section where you can do your hair and such, and bags for your bathing suits. outside/experience : its beautiful and very comforting and you feel instantly relaxed. all of the saunas are great but not the biggest fan of the one with the hot stones where they come in every so often with different fragrances. last time i went it was just ridiculously hot i couldnt breathe. but thats okay, some people enjoy that. the vapour saunas were great but its very difficult to see in there. the hot tub/pools were great and good temperatures, i appreciate the little log cabin with the fire pit and blankets, super comfy. this is a place thats super relaxing, but when your outside with your friend(s) or partner, sometimes you want to chat and laugh and have a quiet but good time and i swear you cant raise your voice the slightest cause they walk around with a paddle and stare directly at you.last time i was there they went around the entire place checking water bottles, and while i understand why, it felt like i was being harassed by the cops for no good reason. food & drinks: i have nothing bad to say about the food except for that its a little pricey. but so yummy ! would definitely come here just for the food ! lol

Nice relaxing day spent with my wife on our 20th anniversary. Surprisingly busy on a Wednesday. Need more swinging hammock chairs.

Justine Baltazar

First time in the Resto was fabulous, but my boyfriend and I’s last visit for our anniversary was absolutely awful. Our server did not greet us, and while it was fairly busy, had the time to greet other guests who were sat 10-15 minutes after us. Thankfully, a very sweet server, Danielle noticed that we had not had our waters filled and proceeded to take our order. Once our meals arrived, my bread was completely burnt but was not able to tell our server as she did not ask us how our meals were even ONCE. We were sat right by the entrance to the kitchen, so our server had a lot of chances to quickly stop by and ask how we were doing. Our waters were filled once, when our meals arrived but stayed empty for an hour. At the end of the meal, our server did not smile or thank us. We were left very disappointed in the service.

I used to love this place but over the years its got worse and worse, now they don't even explain the whole point- hot cold cycle its just a bunch of pools and sauna's. There are way too many people talking now not relaxing at all. Plus the price is way more expensive then in the past plus $20+ for a burger, really.

stephanie murgaski

Love the spa experience, great way to unwind and take a luxury break

Mimi Person

All the staff strived you make sure our experience was the best possible and they succeeded! Not only that but the relaxation areas (saunas, pools, treatments, and massages) are exquisite. We visited the wet sauna, dry saunas, got multiple treatments, massages, and even did the polar dip a few times! The changing rooms had everything you could need from lockers to bathrooms to showers stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, to hair dryers. The staff all worked very hard to keep the facility pristine. I cannot hype up this spa enough! The facility is incredibly well kept, clean, peaceful, soothing, and relaxing. It was worth every penny. They even had gluten and dairy free food in their restaurant we had never seen before including vegan cashew cheese and dairy-free polenta! The braised angus with peanut Anna to jus was incredible. The beef literally just melted in my mouth. The servers, masseuses, estheticians, and general staff were all incredibly kind, attentive, and caring. We will definitely be coming back! The only thing I wish they did differently was provide softer toilet paper. I got a few cuts on my butt hole from their low quality toilet paper.

Leah M

Very nice but overcrowded for it being a pandemic. Wipes were put out but no one other than myself would use them. Implementing a covid cleaning team would be very helpful. Not a place to go if you are a germaphobe, but other than that very pleasant and relaxing.

Tanya Dohan

The place is super clean, staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is so tranquil

Liza Barcellano

Not worth going if you're NOT doing the Thermea Experience. I normally don't post reviews, but since they didn't respond to my direct feedback, I will post it online. I only booked a massage because it was almost -30 C outside - so I wasn't interested in adding it to my visit. Even though my email confirmation CLEARLY stated that a towel & locker would be provided upon arrival, I was told by their front desk that you only get a locker if you also pay to add the Thermea Experience. I was paying 4 times the amount as some others that only came to use their pools, yet they get full use of the facilities and I don't? I had to awkwardly drag all my stuff with me to the massage room and change my clothes there. They also responded to another reviewer that the reason they charge extra fees (for things like a bathrobe) is to give us the "option" of whether we wish to have them or not. If that's the case, shouldn't your massages be cheaper if we are literally only paying for the service? Why are your prices the same as other comparable spas that INCLUDE use of not only their showers & locker, but a bathrobe AND towels as well? They like to nickel & dime for every little thing, so I will have my massages elsewhere. (SIDE NOTE: My RMT, Teresa, gave an amazing massage and was friendly - which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one)

James Warren

There is room in Winnipeg for competition. I don't even care enough to share my experience other than - if you enjoy being talked down to have fun.????‍♂️

Courtney Franklin

Just had my first thermea experience and it was amazing! The facility is beautiful and well cared for and the staff are so friendly and helpful! They truly made the experience even more amazing! The pools and saunas are wonderful and the infusion sauna experiences are truly amazing and artistic. So relaxing and rejuvenating! Seriously though loved the staff!

We live about an hour and 15 minutes from Thermea. When we arrived at 9am we found out the hot tub was shut down for maintainence. In spite of checking the website prior to coming, nothing was mentioned about a closed hot tub. We were told the hot tub would be up and running for 1pm so we decided to wait because in minus 15 weather the hot tub is really the main event. We couldn't make a reservation because of the high season rules. We called before we went back just to make sure the hot tub was ready to go and we were assured it would be. 25 minutes later we arrived back at Thermea to find out that 45 minutes before we got there they had reached capacity. It would have been nice if they had mentioned on the website that the hot tub would be closed and then when we called to see if the tub was ready, to be informed they were at capacity. I have heard Thermea is a great place to go to relax but I still haven't gotten a chance to find out for myself. This was a very disappointing experience.

with the Stuarts

Great place to go to relax and unwind. Different experiences depending on the outdoor weather. I’ve been in the spring and the fall and both temperatures were still enjoyable. A little reminder, don’t bring your device in and whispering is preferred to allow everyone else to enjoy their experience.

Beautiful place but with the new restrictions felt like lots of services not available and pricing should be adjusted

Sarita Tailor

Best place to go and relax. It's a big pricey so we make it a once a year thing. But the people are great, the food is great and the best part is how many different things there are to do(hot sauna, dry sauna, meditation room, 3 different temp pools).

Trevor Schellenberg

Relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a nice fall day in Winnipeg. The social distancing during Covid is done well as they are more attentive to crowding in certain areas.

Rachel

Quiet place to spend some R&R. Price is not too bad if you want to spend the whole day just relaxing, detoxifying and chilling. No rush you can use all the facilities at your own pace. Good way to de-stress. Offers complementary drinks (hot and cold)that makes it more enjoyable. Splurge in their hot tubs cool tubs, sauna rooms and sleeping room listening to the calm nature sound. Their food is a must to try on too. Overall i loved the entire experience. Will definitely recommend to try it. Would come here in cool days instead of summer:) FYI: no cellphones allowed inside the facilities. Need to leave in the locker room????

Jen Mac

I’ve been to thermea multiple times and something has always bothered me. There’s no reinforcement of the “quiet rules”. There are always large groups who are there to celebrate bachelorettes or birthdays and they’re clearly looking for a party atmosphere. Thermea is advertised as a spa, there are quiet signs everywhere but it’s never reinforced. Besides that, we’ve gone twice during the pandemic and it is definitely overcrowded. I’ll try to get my six feet distance and then someone will plop down beside me. My latest experience really took the cake and I won’t return. My friend felt dizzy from the sauna so we left in a rush and I left our hats behind. I tried calling the next morning when I realized and of course was on hold for an hour until I hung up and sent a message on their “online chat” which is really just an email system. I got a response two days later saying they found them and I could pick them up. Because thermea is a bit of a drive for me I drove up a week later. I get there to find out they couldn’t find them and that was that. She said they clear out their lost and found every week. She asked if I had receipts for the hats. I said no, I don’t generally keep receipts for everything I purchase. She said a manager would call me but I haven’t heard back yet. I’m super disappointed they would purposely give away or throw away personal property when they knew it would be picked up. I’ll update my rating if they ever get back to me. *they replaced the hats!

Carene Chan

We were there after 6pm and it wasn't that crowded. A great place to relax! We had a good night sleep after the whole spa experience!

Marcelline Feza

It is a very beautiful place and peaceful place. People achieve total relaxation and go back home feeling 10 times younger and stronger. I love it

J R

Love the thermal experience but I'm sure not a fan of sharing it with so many other people, especially when they can't honour the 'quiet' policy to save their souls. Is what you have to say so important that it can't wait until you're out of the sauna? It would be nice to see this enforced. Food is nice but overpriced (we've paid less for better) but it's pretty indulgent to get to dine in your bathrobe, and the wait staff have always been good. Locker rooms are appallingly cramped with inadequate facilities to serve the number of people they cram in in a day; since the locker room 'bookends' your spa experience, that really sets the tone for the visit.

Peter N

Say no more this place is amazing if you're looking for a nice relaxing spa this is the only place in winnipeg highly recommend it!

Crystal Evanochko

Absolutely amazing! I feel so relaxed and invigorated. The place is beautiful, you feel as though you are on vacation for a fraction of the price. I had an hour massage with Steve and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. From the pools to saunas to a nap with a soft jazz like music, I tried it all and loved it. There were people there, but I didn't feel it was crowded, there is a lot too try, so everyone is always moving. I also tried the cucumber and beet sandwich, the carrot soup and the mussels, they were all delicious. I will definitely go again, have another massage and for sure the mussels. Highly recommend!

Anna Beer

Regardless of covid this was an amazing experience so relaxing and staff are friendly and go above and beyond! Only down sides was that both our massage therapists talked a lot during our massages and we would have preferred to relax in silence but they did an amazing job. Also really miss the heated hammocks but these are aboviously un workable in the covid protocols. Over all an amazing spa and me and my husband will be back!

Diana Vandervis

I'm not generally a spa person, but this was a fantastic experience. The thermal experience, soaking pools, saunas and relaxation rooms were incredible. The food at the restaurant was sublime. The only thing I cant comment on are the massage, but if you're looking for a relaxing encounter, this is it.

Zach Thiessen

Love this place, the most relaxing spot in Manitoba, I would love to go here every week if I could, lots of different saunas and 3 different temperature pools

Audrey Beaudry

Even though the sauna timing was spread out due to disinfecting between groups, it was a very nice day. The are only allowed to be at half capacity, making it not to overcrowded Great massage and meal

Trevor Wiebe

I'm not much a spa guy. I don't like getting wet. My girlfriend took to this place and had a new relaxation experience. When we were finished got home and had the best sleep ever.

Kevin Gordon

A peaceful place to relaxed with a special someone or close friends in a quiet and intimate setting. You can spend an entire day here relaxing and trying the different experiences. It's open all winter, including the polar plunge pool. Bring your own sandles and a book to read by the fire.

Emryssa Innes

If i could give this place more stars I would. When in Winnipeg you must go here. I was surprised about how many locals haven't enjoyed the thermal experience. This place is absolutely fantastic. I love going to the spa and this is by far one of my favorites. The experience was unlike any other. You do what they call cycles of hot, cold then relax. For heat they had two saunas, a hot tub and two steam rooms, one with ornate and he other euculputus. For cold there is a cold pool u can walk into and a shallower pool with a waterfall. Then for relax there were stone beds, heated ergonomically formed heated beds and lay down beds with headphones available. They also had fires going outside with nice chairs and blankets set up. The water was infused, they had some amazing teas and sugars and a salt scrub infused with lavender for scrubbing down after you use the steam rooms. Every hour and half hour they had an affiska ceremony where everyone would like into the large sauna and essential oil infused snowballs were placed on the rocks as a girl danced around with a towel to music moving the heat and oils throughout the sauna. Fantastic experience. Make sure to bring sandals and a housecoat and be sure to have atleast 5 hrs to enjoy and go through a few cycles.

Philip Mathejczuk

The best place in the city to relax and let go for sauna lovers. Only place in town to offer the whole hot-cold cycle on a large scale in a beautiful outdoor setting. Can't recommend enough!

Darin K

A great place to unwind for a couple hours.

melissa froese

Hands down amazing! A day here anytime of year is so relaxing and recharging. I wish I could afford to go more. If you need to treat yourself or someone else this is the place to do it.

Karl Bruggeman

Excellent spa for couples. The restaurant has good food, though selection is limited. The saunas are clean and we'll kept. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Vivien Kiss

Really nice relaxing place, we have been there there first time but definitely not the last one...

Erynn Re Borne

I went with 2 friends in March, and over all enjoyed my experience. I would go back again. But there were some things that I found to be and best annoying and at worst ignorant and possibly dangerous. First, the parking lots is not well maintained and is poorly lit, making you trek back to your car an interesting journey if it's icy. Second, I was shocked that robes and sandals were not complementary as they are at other spas, but are a ridiculous $12 to RENT a robe and $10 to BUY a pair of flip flops that I could get at dollarama for $3 and they would be better. The restaurant is also not worth the money. Understaffed and it takes forever for orders to come out, drinks and all, even with a minimum of guests.the choice is poor and the portions aren't worth the cost. But the thing that concerned me the most, was the places totally lack of accessibility for disabilities. Sure the front door and bathroom in the restaurant have automatic doors, but that's where it stops. I have bad knees, so when I was told that all treatments were on the second floor and that the only way up was a tall set of stairs, no elevator, I was concerned. It was embarrassing and painful to get to and from my treatment having to climb the stairs in a fashion that would cause the least pain. Also, the outdoor area has multiple small sets of stairs to get from area to area, with no railings in sight. Unsteady and wet ground do not mix well. Furthermore at the waterfall, I reached out to hold onto what looked like a secure pillar to climb up to it, only to find that it was movable blocks used to block off the sight. These were left in a spot that made them easily mistaken for supports and had I not be fortunate enough to not yet be climbing the stairs, I could have very easily fallen. I understand the spaces is such that it can't possibly offer complete accessibility, but an elevator or ramp to the treatment area and a few railings would hardly interfere with the aesthetic. Overall a good experience, will go back, but do not go if you have severe mobility issues.

Anthony Castillo

what else can I wish for aside from having a loving kids and wife? THERMËA massage and Thermal experience of course! Thanks to my wife for giving me this Father's day gift. It was my first time and I felt intimidated (in a good way) when I first stepped my foot inside this awesome place. Thermëa is clean, warm and welcoming. The staff will ease your anxiety by guiding you through the process and they will not just leave you wandering. They do what they say about giving you the options to fully enjoy your stay, from massage oil they use, to professional therapist, to saunas, pools, and relaxation venues in one package. The food was great, I had the pan seared MB trout garnished with special sauce, asaparagus, and green beans and some reviewers said they have an awesome wine that complements the food which I must agree, their menu is very straightforward. My only regret was spending it alone, that could have been more unforgetable if I had my wife with me. We will definitely visit this place again :)

Craig Omundsen

Well worth a visit! Reasonably priced, outstanding amenities and plenty to do to relax - dry sauna, steam room, hot pools, cold dipping pools, hammocks, quiet rooms, private massage, restaurant, and bar. Perfect for both the summer and winter. Well landscaped surroundings and courteous staff. Recommend taking your swimming trunks and spend a couple of hours relaxing.

Natalie Gourley

Love all the facility in Thermea from sauna to hot tub. I cant believe that we can actually wear bikini in winter time. Love the idea and the atmosphere. SO Relax! Highly Recommend.

Rita Gordon

I didn’t like that it was under a flight path. Also did not like that the robes are all white so people don’t always know who’s robe they are grabbing. I had stuff in my pockets and it went missing (even if it was by accident) It seemed some people left wet ones and grabbed dryer looking ones and in the cold that’s not fun :( no cash for their restaurant which is unfortunate. Had to eat elsewhere after my “experience”.

Dustin Rodeck

Parking lot is terrible and should be shut down. Huge potholes and I didn’t even want to drive my pickup through it. The lunch box was good but very overpriced, hence the menu had no prices on it...facilities would be cleaner if personal footwear was not allowed and clean sandals were provided.

Richie Jones

It is always a pleasure to be here! There needs to be more available clocks on the grounds if time sensitive bookings continue.

Lindsay Mc

This place was incredible. We went there for the first time for a date night today and it was the best experience. We enjoyed s’mores around the fire and took full advantage of the beautiful exfoliating station. I can’t wait to go back soon!

Lynne Funk

Love it.. only thing I didn't care for was the amount of people.. it made it where things were so full it took away from the relaxing environment and experience.

Al Sawatzky

Everything went very well. Very clean saunas were nice and the relaxation areas are beautiful. Unfortunately it is right in line with the airport runway. Also, you have to park in a pot hole filled dusty parking lot.

Sara Scurfield

A must do in Winnipeg! Clean, relaxing and stylish. So fantastic in the middle of winter. Bring a book and toque!

Annelies Sikkenga

Had a lovely experience here. My first ever visit and I didn't find anything limiting with covid restrictions. There were some line ups for the saunas but not a long wait. Just an fyi, massages can only be booked with a credit card, not debit. Today was a hotter day for winnipeg but I still found the spa very relaxing and cool. The staff was fantastic as well.

Michael H

I love Thermea but I was deeply disappointed with the noise levels in the pools, saunas, and "quiet" rooms on this occasion. The greeter in reception stated their commitment to maintaining quiet but when I came into the facility, it seemed as if they've given up controlling all of the talking. No monitors or any kind of enforcement of the whisper code at any time. I would strongly suggest that they have full time noise attendants stationed by the pools when numbers of visitors reach a certain level. This would at least make someone visible to guests to keep an eye/ear on the talking so that people are respecting the rules and allowing others to enjoy a quiet time. Sort of like "noise security guards." these monitors should be patrolling the saunas and quiet rooms constantly. There should also be signs posted prominently around the pools to make the rules clear. Honestly, it was like a cocktail party during the time I was there. People were chatting everywhere, especially the younger folks. I will return but next time I will be bringing my wax ear plugs so as not to allow others to spoil my spa experience. I sure hope they take care of this. It's been progressively worse over the years. If they can't start controlling the talking and noise, I will no longer be coming or recommending this establishment to others.

Daniel Gautron

I love this place! Spending a day here is possibly one of the best ways to kick back and relax in Winnipeg. I can't wait to go again.

Nathan Lyle

Very relaxing love the atmosphere! Was 5 stars for me before the price increase. Make a reservation and go early to get the most out of your visit.

Reilly Forbes

High recommend for anyone travelling to Winnipeg. We had a fantastic day going through a variety of thermal cycles. Make sure to check out the infusion ceremony in the dry sauna every other hour. It was amazing!

Terry Peristerakis

Had a Wonderful experience at Thermea. You do not feel like you are in Winnipeg when you are in the pools and saunas, very relaxing and tranquil, excellent for a couple to bond and connect. Nice having so many options for which parts of the site you want to spend time in. Food was good but pricey for what you get. I would like to try going back in the evening one time, and see how different that experience is. I would certainly recommend trying it out for yourself, great experience.

Moleen M

COVID-19 has affected the usual service, for example they no longer offer refreshment at the saunas. However, its still a worthwhile experience.

Al Aw-Ga-Chew

I had the most amazing birthday there, we did our own thing at first than we followed the recommended hot, cold, relax cycle and it was great. Delicious lunch led to a 6 hour day there!!!

Kevin

Great experience, we booked a massage and spent the day in the spa. It's priced high, but worth it to go once and awhile. Didn't eat at the restaurant. I recommend going!

Brixx 204

Took the wife for a treat, was a great atmosphere with amazing working staff and the amenities were in pristine condition

Robert Daudet

I hadn't been to Thermea since the pandemic started and was reluctant to go back; however, I'm glad I did! The venue has done a great job with every aspect of the spa experience to ensure safety of its guests while still having a relaxing pleasurable experience. Will definitely be back soon!

Ken Gavina

Was there with my wife on New Year's Eve for a massage & to enjoy the thermal spas. The spa itself was fantastic, it was disappointing that the dry barrel sauna was down for maintenance while we were there. Staff and service was amazing; I would also like to mention how wonderful Kylie M. was as an RMT (I have a lot of sports-related injuries so am very particular about my treatment), definitely was the highlight of my experience at Thermea. Excellent pressure, communicated clearly throughout the massage (which I think is key to getting exactly what you want out of it), and she even went over a few minutes to ensure that she covered what I had asked.

Megan Oliver

Went for 6 hours and I still didn't want to leave! Tried to hit every feature they offered; 4 saunas, 3 pools, the fire pit, the nap room, and the warm rock lounge area, with some lunch and a massage in between. I haven't been that relaxed in a looooong time. Bring your own robe and sandals! Honest to god I would go back to Winnipeg just to go back to Thermea.

Steve Ens

Beautiful venue and great staff. Don't plan anything afterwards because you will be so relaxed you won't want to move following a visit here.

Jenna Buchanan

Thermëa is hella expensive to go regularly when you're not some rich bored housewife with your husband's platinum card, but once I fell asleep for like 2 hours in the hammocks and stayed there 8 full hours and I think probably I died there? Out of everything closed during the pandemic I miss thermëa the most. I bought an orange soap there last time and sometimes I just cry into it in the shower cause I miss that citrus steam room. I would give the guy who did my massage like a 0/5 cause the massage was good but he kept trying to make small talk like asking where I work and stuff and when I told him I worked at a local video game store HE STARTED ASKING ME IF I HAD CERTAIN GAMES IN STOCK like yo guy I'm here to relax not WORK so that was an absurd experience for a 150$ massage and I didn't complain about it at the time but I'm bored at home so here I am, thinking about that garbage massage I got here. My wife absolutely loved hers though, said she got the best massage ever but her massage therapist. Tell Guy Massage (idk his name I kept the card cause I was gonna complain earlier but. Jason or something boring and plain) not to talk to his customers about their work. I don't even let my friends bug me about products we have in stock omg Therefore 4 stars for thermëa!

Amanda Bashucky

I was pleasantly pelased with the 'thermea experience' however completely dissatisfied with the locker room appeal to their change room. Very poor ambiance and the showers were a complete let down. No CONDITIONER!! What?! Also not many toiletry options or quality skin products available for after showering. Seems they spent too much time planning the outside and forgot about the inside. The locker areas are very poorly designed. I would also like to mention the unpleasant manner of the reception staff. I feel when you go to a spa you should be made to feel welcome whereas I felt as if I was inconveniencing them, they were very unhelpful and seems very unhappy.

Stephanie Jemielity

Throughly enjoyed the thermal experience. Just easily spent like 4 hours here. The only reason I give it 4 was because my massage was just ok. Didn't find the massage very relaxing.

Amanda Wilkins

Beautiful location. Pools were amazing and lunch was really delicious. Highly recommend stopping here for some r&r

Sidney Shapira

While we have our own massage therapists elsewhere, we treated ourselves to a hot afternoon at Thermea. Our past gave us access to all of the facilities including the pools, steam rooms and saunas. The expanded beach area is fantastic. The individual seat-style swinging hammocks were a hit!

Gerrit Theule

Who doesn’t love a day here? All year around Thermea is a fantastic place to go and lounge. Even if you don’t end up with the (excellent) massage services, you’ll leave here totally relaxed. Do not miss the aufgauss that happens on a regular schedule - it’s a great show as well as just about the hottest thing you will ever experience.

Jess Davis

A slice of heaven.

Darryll Iwaszkiw

Not a relaxing experience at all. My massage was average, but aside from that, my experience was awful. This place is so overcrowded. There was absolutely nowhere to relax. All beds and seating areas were full including seating in the warm pools. There were people standing everywhere waiting for seating to become available. On top of that, the majority of guests completely ignore spa etiquette and use the day to catch up with friends. The restaurant had over a forty minute wait. After my massage I spent about forty five minutes trying to find a place to relax, including the restaurant. I finally got a spot inside, but there was a constant ringing in the room- coming from one of the tea dispensers. I was waiting for a spot in the restaurant but realized I’d be much more content if I were at home- so I left. Will not be back.

Alan T

Beware of ladybugs in the massage rooms. I had a ladybug (or asian beetle?) falling on my head during the massage session. It was a pretty gross feeling. Then I noticed there were several of them on the ceiling of the room. Not expected from a nice facility like this.

Judy Scott

Great place to spend a thoroughly relaxing day. Food was terrific!

I called last January 14 to book for a massage for me and my husband!!! The receptionist told me that it is already required to pay for the booking before we can make a reservation. So I paid last January 14,2021 for both me and my husband through the phone for 305 canadian dollars to book a massage for January 22,2021 for my birthday. I asked for receipt and he told me that I will get my receipt after the massage. The day comes, I didn't even give my credit card they just check the confirmation of my reservation and that's it we got our massage. I was just shocked when I went home and saw my account that I was billed for another 300 dollars! When you see the faq sheet in their website it clearly stated there that in order to make a reservation you need to pay for it in advance. So they knew that I paid for my reservation- that's where the fraud comes in! they billed me on purpose that made me really upset! Second, they kept my credit card details without my permission! Keeping your customer credit card details needs to be consented! Lesson learned for me, I didn't expect with this big business they would do that to me. My husband and I just tried to celebrate my birthday and that's the experience we got! We are living in rural area 2 hrs away from Winnipeg and a gift certificate is not viable for us. So I am demanding for a refund and I hope they would give it to me! So guys, lets stop supporting this kind of bad business.

My experience was almost near perfect. My friend and I took advantage of the 'Girls Night' package. Got there around 6pm and there was hardly anyone there which was excellent. Love pretty much everything about it. The only complaints if any, was that there was a huge puddle of water near the showers in the women's change room that I slipped on at least twice and almost fell. There was not really a way to avoid it. I was there for almost 4 hours and saw a few employees in there and no one bothered to put up the wet floor sign that was sitting at the side of the entrance to the change room, or just simply mopped it up. And the showers in the women's change room heated up to lukewarm at best. My friend and I decided to not even shower off before we left. Also there are zero street lights on the outside of the building nor in the parking lot. We left closer to 10pm and we had to use the flashlight on our cells phones to find the car. That can be very dangerous and there was a very strange man on a bike in the lot trying to ask us questions. Other then that our experience was pretty wonderful. People were talking normally, but since there wasn't too many visitors I really didn't mind. You will definitely experience a natural high with the mix of hot and cold temperatures. I really didn't want to leave.

Holly McRae

Probably one of my favourite places in the city. Worth going every month, they should set up a loyalty program though would be nice.

Sherry Scouten

1st impression was awful!! FIX YOUR DRIVEWAY AND PARKING AREA. But, once you get into the Thermea experience, it all melts away and becomes perfect.

Jayne Elford

Super frustrating that they never answer the phone I’ve waited hours on hold and still nothing trying to modify a reservation for a spa should not make you need a spa. Will not be returning or visiting and hoping for a refund.

Devin Cunningham

Great environment. Good food. Good service in the restaurant. The couples massage was great. Check in and check out is a disaster, and starts and ends your day on a bad note. Lockers too small for winter jackets.

Shileen LaFortune

It was a great experience. However I feel like the price for the day is a little too high.

Jim Mahdi

Good food and best place for relaxing????

Kaitlyn Mitchell

Way too overpriced for the quality of the experience. You just sit in different pools of varying temperature. That’s it.

Shawna Lacasse

The restaurant is disappointingly meat-based and rich... not the ideal compliment AT ALL for a "detox" experience. Wellness should be encouraged not just through the environment but what goes in the body too, yes? And alcohol served?!?!? Not healthy at all... It feels more like an adult playground of decadent foods to spoil one's self. Are you catering to those gabby bachelorette parties or an actual health-minded crowd? To truly detox would be to offer a plant-based menu, raw, full of superfoods, fresh unpasteurized juices, real herbal teas, and so forth.

Timothy Eskra

I wasn't in Thermea,I was feeding 3 deers,2 were her little ones, they are so cute

M D

It's nice and quiet during the week between 2-6PM. Saunas and pools were great. Food and bevys are also good. Staff was busy attending to towels and cleanliness.

Cassandra Wade

I love that Thermea started taking online reservations to get into the spa. It was not nearly as busy and we didn't have to wait in line to get in. Definitely a relaxing experience going between the hot tubs, cold pool, and all the saunas

Kendra Jarvinen

Terrible customer service. Employees refused to check their lost and found to see if they had my wallet (they did have it in the end). She said they would check the lost and found when it was convenient for them. The spa had not even opened yet! I had to pack up my infant daughter in December and go to Thermea to get them to check the lost and found. I would hope if Thermea employees ever leave a valuable item behind somewhere they are treated with far more respect and courtesy than they treat their customers at Thermea!

M D

Attended Thermea with my partner this week for the first time after much anticipation. The thermal experience itself was unique and very enjoyable. Lots of pools/rooms to choose from, with clean and well-kept facilities. We were there in -20 weather so unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy sitting by the outdoor fire pits or in the lounge chairs, but the areas looked very nice! We felt we got good value for our entrance fee. The locker room was cramped and unimpressive. Lockers and benches to sit on were very small. The showers were disappointing – low quality soap, and a shampoo/conditioner 2 in 1 combo that felt like it was from the dollar store. Robes didn’t feel luxurious, I saw several with holes. If you’re going to charge $12 a rental, please provide better quality robes. The towels provided were small and scratchy. I expected better quality amenities from a spa with prices like Thermea. The restaurant was by far the most disappointing part of our visit. We walked in and stood at the host stand for five minutes while at least three staff members saw us and ignored us. Finally, we seated ourselves and got our own menus. Plainly put, the prices at this place are outrageous. My partner and I visit a lot of restaurants, and have no problem spending money on great food, but the food was far from great here. We ordered an appetizer that came with five very small slices of baguette. When we asked for two more small pieces to finish up the dish, our waitress apologized and said she could only bring us four more pieces for two dollars. What kind of place can’t give ten cents worth of bread to patrons spending 100+ for lunch? Ridiculous. The food here was just ok. Small portions, and the food lacked flavour. The only stand out item was the apple pie. I’ve had more satisfying meals at a burger joint. After a tip, our lunch was $100 for one appetizer, two sandwiches, and a dessert to share and we both drank water. You could spend less on lunch and have a glass of wine with your meal at 529 Wellington! I’d never eat at the restaurant again, it’s a total money grab. Suggestions: - Thermea doesn’t need to cater to people looking to socialize. This is a great place for relaxation and Winnipeggers are willing to pay for and support it. One of the most annoying things about our visit were listening to banal gossip and conversations between a group of friends, and people who entered the napping room of all places to giggle and chat. Institute a one warning policy for breaking silence/volume rules, rowdy behaviour, or being intoxicated and act on it when necessary. - Overhaul the restaurant. It’s obvious that this is the cash cow of the operation. It isn’t good value, and your clients feel ripped off eating there. Improve the food and service or allow people to bring their own snacks so they don’t have to choose between starving at the spa or putting up with poor quality food and service and dismal value. Would I return? Probably for the thermal experience since I can’t get it anywhere else in Winnipeg, but not for many months – and I’ll be sure to eat a giant meal before coming.

Diane Ledo

Went to Thermea for the first time tonight. The pool area wasn't too bad but it felt a little crowded. The worst part of my experience was the restaurant. We waited 15 minutes before someone came to sit us down at a table. Then it took another 15 minutes to get a server. Once we ordered our drinks, it took another half hour to get them and once they came my drink was the wrong one and took another 15 minutes to receive the right drink. Really disappointing as it was for a friend's birthday we were trying to celebrate.

Carina Baier

Love this place so much. So relaxing. Love the tranquility and quiet. Been here 4 times and will definitely be back ????

Arlene Chesley

Loving it! Nordic spa experience! Left feeling so healthy and de-stressed! Must do at least once in a lifetime!!!

M Mandal

if you like sitting in a sauna and sweating it out then you'll like the aufguss ritual. it was unique and an incredible experience. I would definitely do it again.

Joanna Penner

So beautiful and the food was divine!! My happy place

Danielle Victoria

Love Thermea! We always finish our time at thermea with a nap on the hot stone slab

Marquesa Kennington

I have been quite a few times and it is usually a wonderful experience, however, about a month ago my fiancé and I went. There were some very concerning things we witnessed (lack of staff, no direction, alcohol in glass in the hot tubs, etc.). Our time was basically ruined due to little to no staff in any area and when they were their heads were down and they were bee-lining it away from guests. Anyways, I emailed just to let them know of my experience especially the more concerning things pertaining to safety (alcohol and glass in hot tub with staff walking right by not saying a thing). I got a reply saying my email had been escalated to management.... It's been well over a month with no follow up.... I guess management is just as flakey as the staff on site? Super disappointed as you pay a good price for the services to be treated like this. Also really concerning that at the end of the survey you fill out after your stay, they ask you for your highest level of education... Seems to be some implications of collecting data pertaining to classicism... That's just my thoughts though.. Kind of gross.

All_about_ food

What a great experience, every time we go there we really relax and enjoy the time here. The restaurant is amazing as well.

Will Hall

First time and it was amazing. Spent over 9 hrs here and next I'll make sure it's even longer. Great facility.

Akshanta A.

We had two gift certificates for a day here but due to inclement weather, we ended up canceling our trip and paid the $40 cancellation fee. We were happy doing this as we preferred to go on a better day. However, despite the gift certificate (which covered the full experience), we ended up incorrectly being charged the full amount. On top of that, they refused to refund us the amount charged due to their “systems” not being able to process the refund. What was supposed to be a relaxing spa experience ended up being a customer service nightmare.

Jared Ginter

Great place great massages amazing experience

Keri A

Went on one of the coldest days to go there but had a good time. Best time I would think for myself are spring and fall. Summer might to too hot

Trease M.

All was well for the first time. Great place to relax with different options. Had their appetizers which was great! The only downside of the spa is the quiet/whisper policy. Not everyone respects it nor read any of the signs posted everywhere. Especially a group of women or men together is impossible for all of them to follow. It was quite noisy as the day goes by. I almost wanted my own headphones and relaxing music to bring just to tune out the vocal people and actually meditate.

Maria Rawluk

Long story short, for a space that promotes luxury and costs a pretty penny, their customer service from management leaves a lot to be desired. Restaurant staff & food is great though!

Alan Hogg

Everyone seems to want to skip the ice bath but trust me, it's the secret to being super relaxed! Edibles are an excellent addition! The restaurant has good food and good vegan options. If you like the heat, do a few of the aufguss rituals, but bring in some ice :)

Jose G

Good time. Good was good but over priced. Burger, salad and an appetizer with a drink over $100

Daniel Craig

Expensive but worth it.

martin rojas

Nice place to relax and great staff

Marcy Gauthier

I wish I could go every week! First time going and it was the best experience. Enjoyed every part of day, pools, saunas, massage, and lunch! Definitely will be back.

Jay Kay

The restaraunt is very delish. The spa itself is nice. Didn't like that you had to rent a robe or bring your own... or wear your street clothes. Kind of takes away from the spa feel.

Krista Meyers

Great experience. Great food. Will be back.

Monica ZW

Very good spa! If I may make a suggestion - some dry mopping throughout the day would be quite nice, just to absorb some of the excess water. Bravo creators of this spa, well located and well established.

J D

The location itself is great, but the staff don't do anything about guests carrying on loud, obnoxious conversations in the pools and saunas. It's hard to relax when teenage girls are shrieking and giggling at the cold water and everyone is chatting. A group of shrill hens, red wine in hand, were clucking loudly in the smallest sauna with complete disregard for the other people in there. The queen hen had the audacity to beak me when I quietly got up to leave. I've never seen a more ignorant, selfish person in such a nice setting. This is a great place to go if you want to hear other people's gossip while you try to relax.

E Thompson

I know friends that love it here. It was ok but now that I've been there, I don't see myself going back. The cost is high. There were a few features I liked, such as the room with the wavy benches to relax in, but I can do that anywhere. I did not enjoy the hot to cold experience at all. If you like hot tubs in winter, then give it a try. Otherwise, spend your money somewhere else.

ellen nancy

On my last visit December 16,2019 . It was the perfect cold Winnipeg winter day at Thermea. Unfortunately, like so many of my other visits it is populated by party people who talk to loud and too much. Unlike me, it is obvious they are not there for the restorative benefits of the rituals and to De stress. This facility would be the perfect place for destressing if they had an enforceable quiet policy that employees actually enforced. No other Nordic spa allows this kind beachy private hot tub and drinks atmosphere.

janet davies

Loved the whole experiance inside but they really need to fix their parking lot and approach. I was there last year and it was bad tben. I thought they would have it fixed by now but this year it is even worse. I think i will wait before returning maybe they will at least fill in those pot hole with gravel for now.

Abhishek anand

Nice calm place, good treatment and best therapist in city.

D'Arcy McLean

Wonderful experience even on a very chilly day. The only negative was having to hear other peoples' conversations when it is supposed to be quiet and meditative.

Allison Rees

Such a beautiful facility. By far my favorite place to go in Winnipeg. 5 out of 5! The restaurant is great, it's always clean and organized and the staff is very nice! I've been to the Quebec location very often, they did a wonderful job bringing such a relaxing place to this city.

Beau H

The best money you can spend in Winnipeg. Hands down. On-site restaurant is amazing, too. Never had a complaint.

lovleen bagri

Love this place!

Ron Barbour

I have been to Thermea spa 11 times since they have opend. I have noticed that they have lost focus on the customer and more about enforcing the rules. I was there on Sunday evening with a friend and we felt like we were in elementary school. The friend I was with has come to Thermea 5 times with me. It was our treat to each other whenever she is in town. Within 5 minutes of being there we were told by an employee holding a sign that said to be quiet. Everybody was talking quietly in the main hot tub and nobody around was being overly loud. most people at the spa talk in the hot tub and respect the whispering rule in the sauna and relaxation room. I have found that since the employees have gotten a sign to hold up to tell everybody to be quiet is very rude and cold customer service. We didn't even spend an hour at the spa, that was a very expensive hour. I phoned the spa the very next day and talked to a manager and she said that they were getting complaints from patrons over the noise, she also suggested that if we wanted to talk that there is different places we could go and spend our well earned money at another place that allows conversation. I will not be going back and will never recommend anybody to go to Thermea spa. There is more places to go to relax at a spa.

Trish McLeod

All you expext. Water lovers heaven! Would be nice if there was one sauna where you could talk. Hard to be quiet.

Kyle N

Really awesome... Until the crowd shows up. The facility, staff, and activities are fantastic. The problem is when it fills up there are bound to be people who don't respect the signs (no talking) and mess up the experience for everyone. It would be an easy 5 stars if there was more enforcement of the rules.

Brenna Lamoureux

I have been to Thermëa countless times, i brought my boyfriend here for his birthday expecting to be able to enjoy all of the facilities now that they’re reopened with the new covid restrictions. we had gone to put our names down on the lists to get into the saunas. the girl at the entrance proceeded to tell us she was unable to put our names down until a specific time so “newcomers” would be able to use the sauna, and at that point we were very confused as we hadn’t been able to go into either of the saunas yet. we asked when the next available time was and it was two hours away and by that time we had planned to leave as we had previous plans for the evening. So for the entire 5-6 hours we were at the facility we weren’t able to get into even ONE of the saunas. Poor communication, as well as they’re letting people put they’re names down multiple times for different slots even though they already had a chance to use the saunas. very disappointed in the service as i also work in the industry of customer service, i fortunately will be coming back as i do normally enjoy the spa. although i will not be returning with these unfair lists for the saunas

Meg Stade

Literally every moment from entry to exit was calming. I took time to read Thermea recommended treatment cycles concerning sauna, polar pool, and relaxing, and found peace in the repetition. The polar pool was especially a favourite for me (I run warm haha). We started our treatment at 6 pm and enjoyed seeing the spa lanterns and tree lights grace our stay into the night. I will return with gladness.

Joshua Tremblay

Worth the trip to Winnipeg

Mark Petrasanta

A nice relaxing experience. Best time to go is when it is -15c, and a light snow.

Crystal Kjernisted

Always a wonderful experience! The staff are wonderful and the food is amazing. Jake is a wonderful massage therapist. I can't say enough good things.

Aaron Kanis

Wasn't planning on going for more then an hour or two, but it was so relaxing and the atmosphere was so peaceful that I ended up staying 8 hours. The staff are very polite, and put effort into ensuring that you are having a pleasant experience

Madeleine Baril

I have gift certificates that were purchased last year but Thermea now discriminâtes snd I am unable to attend. After numerous emails I am unable to negotiate a fair arrangement. They are doing me harm by keeping my money. Theft.

SRK (Srk)

Having been to Spa Nordic in Quebec, I finally made the the time to check out thermea in Winnipeg, a few years after it opened. The few times I had been to spa Nordique , we had arrived with some wine in our flasks and had never been given any grief. We also spend over $100 in food and wine in the facility. Assuming it would be no issue here (in Winnipeg) well we did the same. We left our wine/ water bottles outside of the sauna to find that they were confiscated when we came out 15 minutes later. When we asked one of the workers in the sauna he told us that they would be at reception. We went there and we were informed as to why they were taken and we apologized for the confusion as we honestly thought that we were allowed to bring our wine in the same way you are allowed to drink in other spas here in Winnipeg and other cities The manager was very professional at the time, said no worries and that we were so gracious compared to other guests who obviously were sneaking in alcohol. She informed us that the wine had been dumped and gave us our Swell bottles back, telling us that there would be no restrictions as we had been so receptive. We continued on to the dining room, had a bottle of wine and some apps. I left my EMPTY swell bottle there and continuing to use the facilities. I knew I had accidentally left it in the dining room but as we planned to eat there after, I planned to pick it up then. When we were done, we headed to the dining room and ordered a couple of glasses of wine. 10 minutes later a different server came over to tell us we were “flagged” . Apparently since my bottle was found in the dining room with a drop of alcohol in it because the front desk did not properly empty it like they told me, that the ounce of alcohol they left in it what had had me flagged. RIDICULOUS! after I asked to talk to the manager AGAIN, she could offer no explanation other than the restaurant and the spa are run separately . She is not in charge. Then who IS in charge of the facility as a whole?? They have been trying to hire an operations manager for months and in the mean time there is a lack of cohesion within the facility. Every area is being separately managed by very inexperienced individuals who clearly do not communicate. I will not go back. I would rather enjoy a professional experience at 10 Spa, or any other spa for that matter in the city, than waste my time in a facility that is not properly managed.

Joanne Brown

Always enjoy our time at Thermea. Menu can do with a few changes but we appreciate having dinner, recording our wine, then returning later for more wine and dessert. Invest in gravel for the muddy parking lot!!

KCGamble 1

Spent 30 mins on hold today to book a massage. Confirmed at reception and was told to arrive and head upstairs 10-15 mins early to fill out paper work. Did so and sat alone in a room for for about 40 mins. Went back down to reception told them about it. Asked me to go back upstairs while they checked on it. Waited another 10 mins to be told there was "technical difficulties". Had scheduled everything so that I could keep my appointments ended up having to just cancel. Kind of ruined the experience for me. But the facility was ok. A little busy. Offered 25 percent off as remediation. But the experienced was already a gift voucher. So not sure how that would apply.

Benjamin Poisson

Great place. The best Nordic spa I have seen in western Canada so far. It doesn’t deserve a 5 star tho as it would need some major upgrades to get to the level of what you get in Quebec and Ontario. I would happily give it a 4 star if the place was more quiet. People often speak in the silence area and talk like if they were in a dance club when in the hot tub or everywhere outside. I think the administration needs to step up there game and enforce the spa ethiquette better, like you would see in most spa around Quebec and Ontario. The clients shouldn’t have to as the other around to stay quiet, the spa employees should do it regularly, but they don’t. Also, the tempered rooms to relax happen to have pretty loud clapping sound every 2-3 minutes which is very annoying and not relaxing. If they were taking more attention to details like this, this place would be an easy 4 star.

John Patrick Abrenica

Always great service. Very serene. I wish the communicated the restaurant wait times with a sign or something.

john smith

Great time.

Anne Formosa

Clean, restful retreat. Friendly staff. Wonderful food at the restaurant. Great experience, so peaceful.

Charles Mattina

Nice place no doubt... but they are swaying from their mission. The place, at least on a Saturday night, is simply NOT relaxing. Tons of people in the hottub, so no where to get some space. Sauna has people come and going constantly. Change rooms were pretty nasty on the way out. Good staff though... doing their best, that's for sure.

Dee VonRohr

I'm giving thermea a 5 star for the Restaurant Service alone. Kevin the manager and Stefania the server were exceptional. Kevin is kind, professional, showed leadership and his service was on point. Stefania was truly a star while I spa'd that day. I did not go unnoticed. She helped me find my Gucci silk hair tie. She rounded all the staff and asked them to keep a lookout. It was found! She made every single guest including myself feel like we were her special guest and priority. That woman went above and beyond to juggle all her guests, tasks, their requests and be calm, professional while doing it. When I go anywhere, I'm about the food and service. I would come back for them; Kevin and Stefania. Thank you.

Tamara Lofto

Have been here 4 times, food is overpriced at restaurant and although aspects of food were good there was always something wrong for example bread was dry once, next time greens were wilted. Not worth the cost for eating in the restaurant. I enjoyed the thermal experience area although I had last planned for a group of 5 people to go booked treatments 3 months in advance and ended up with stitches in my foot near the planned day. There was no exception made to offer a small discount or credit for a future visit. As I could no do pools or saunas it was not worth it to pay full price to sit by the fire and I was also not wanting to drop off 4 friends and not join them so we canceled and made plans elsewhere. Even with paying for a massage they didn’t make an exception. For this reason I won’t be going back.

chris lowden

Great place. Relaxing

Grateful To Be Alive

Yesterday was my first time at Thermea. I experienced each pool, and sauna. I loved reading my book on the heated loungers inside the rest area. The fire cauldrons were not going for too long, due to wind I was told. I had a deep tissue massage which was great. The waiting area for the massage was very inviting. I visited the restaurant. The service was great. I stayed into the evening to enjoy the stars in the night sky as I sat in the hot tub. A definite return is in order.

Daniel Tiger

5 Star Experience. Fantastic facilities, modern equipment, multiple options for spa treatments. I could go on, so just check it out! A must do.

Jenna-Marie Tymko

I’ve been many times and it usually never disappoints. My only issue is the talking of other patrons. It completely disrupts the experience for others. I do know, however, that this establishment makes every effort to eliminate the talking as much as possible. Last night observed someone walking around with the sign more frequent than every 30 minutes. Pretty impressive. My new favourite spot are the day beds and hammocks down by the beach area. Well done! I had the croque monsieur with salad and a glass of rosé as well. Delicious!

Christina Walker

Not as relaxing as I had hoped, mostly due to congestion. Very small locker room for how many people they squeeze in there and when we tried to go into saunas outside they were almost always completely full so we spent a lot of time just walking around in the cold before just giving up and sitting in the hot tub. Room where I had my massage was cold, blankets were cold and even the masseuse’s hands were cold so it was a pretty uncomfortable hour. Didn’t really feel like it counted as a massage, felt more like she was just applying the oil but I did like the salt scrub and the chocolates almost made up for how disappointed I was but not quite.

Brent Peters

Thermea is awesome! I proposed to my fiancee here 2 weeks ago and they staff was so accommodating and helpful. They went above and beyond to help me put my plans into action and make our night extra special, they even offered a private session in the sauna with our choice of aromatherapy and song, I cant thank them enough for the hospitality. All in all thermea is a great place to relax and unwind and have a great selection of food and beverages. I have to say it's best at the slow times as sometimes there are groups of chatty middle age ladys who may have had to much wine who have a hard time keeping their voices down but it's hard for the staff to be policing that at all times. I give them 5 stars, everytime I'm there they make my time as pleasant as possible.

Matt From

Don't bring a group. One of our party came later and they sent her away even though she was paid for and she had a wrist band set aside. I spent my thermea time checking with the front desk every 15 minutes for our last party member, to find out later she did come and was turned away. When I talked to the manager they said it was her fault for coming late, which makes no sense as it was PAID FOR whether she came or not. I later found out it's their new computer system that's having problems with booking times etc. Really disappointing. As well, the parking lot is a hazard to your vehicle.

David A

My wife and I recently went here and had the worse experience we could have had at a spa. This is the second time we have gone ( and probably the last) and there has been issues with some of the clientele there. The first time it was people bringing there cell phones into the relaxation areas (even though there is a no cell phone policy). This time it was all the talking and noise. We were sitting in one of the aroma rooms and were forced to listen to a group of ladies have a wild conversation and talking loudly. When I calmly asked them to either keep their conversation down or to go outside and talk I was told "To mind my own f********* business". At that point we had only been there about 10 minutes. My wife was so upset she got up and we decided to leave. When I complained to the front desk staff they seemed not to care too much. Would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing time at a spa.

Michael Kowalson

Wonderful getaway day and Spa experience. the food is exactly what you expect quite high-end little bit overpriced but worth it for the quality. would be nice to have a few more options for those of us who aren't quite so high-end minded when it comes to food. however the spa experience itself as what you go there for and it is an amazing the thermal cycling the Aufguss hot and cold pools it's over all just a relaxing experience.

Ivanka Sharkadi

Honestly i would say it's not worth going their while covid restrictions are in place,, there is a limited amount of people for saunas and they only go every 30 minutes so if you do not get in you can only go again in 30 minutes if you make it before it caps out. you always have to be watching the time or looking when people are starting to line up or go in which really does not give you the 100% relaxation. You dont have to wear a mask outside but every time you want to come into any building even a sauna you have to wear your mask until you sit down that is understandable,,,, but what really made our stay not pleasant is their was one employee that just kept walking around and even when we were OUTSIDE enjoying drinks he would come up to us and tell us to wear a mask,, as well as when we were alone just me and my husband in the warm bed room with no other person in their he would just show up and keep nagging you to put your mask on even if your in their alone,, which by the end of our stay just got very annoying and just takes the relaxation part out of it,, i get wearing a mask around people and perhaps when their is other people in the building but this was just bonkers. They took away all drinking stations and for a cup of water you have to go to the front desk every time. Overall it was a very well cleaned facility and most staff were very nice and understanding other then that one guy.

Need a retreat for the day or a few hours? This is the place to be.

Nicky Gill

Too much talking, food is not worth the $$.

Sara Brookes

The new reservation process sucks. I used to come ever 2 - 4 weeks. My schedule is sporadic and it was a great retreat. Now I can never get in. No loyalty.

Alyssa Chartrand

Went for the first time and it's very relaxing! I love the exfoliating salts and the steam sauna!

Tinuke Adebayo

I got a gift certificate for my Birthday to get a 60 min massage, I called to book an appointment. The Lady says I cant use my gift certificate for the massage unless I spend another $100 for access to other facilities which I don't want. The gift certificate is basically useless except I spend extra? She said it is the Buyers fault for not paying an additional access fee.... Please what is the point of a gift certificate I cannot use?

Tasha Cousins

During the pedicure my heels were cut and bleeding during callous work. You would think for $118 they would have experts, not what seemed to be a girl who just finished school. The girl was very sweet and apologetic but this was my first pedi here so I won't pay for this treatment again. The manager offered a free experience for the mishap. The thermal experience is the best thing about this place but I'm surprised it's not included with treatments. Massages are fine but overpriced.

Sam S

The actual facility is great. However, the staff are almost always scowling, and not welcoming in any way. The woman who checked us in, had no information about anything other than check in times, so if people had any questions they had to wait until they were at the front of the line to ask the women running the front desk, who were busy taking payments and arranging locker assignments. Making the entire process way longer than it needed to. We had a reservation at 10:30, and we spent half an hour waiting in the lobby to pay. NO ONE, not one staff member greeted us with a smile, or a ‘hello, welcome to thermea’. After finally paying and getting into the locker room, I was disappointed to find that not only was I not even near the person I’d gone with, but the lockers are so small, and so close together that you can’t even fit a jacket in them. If you go, ask if you can get an odd numbered locker, as the even ones are on the bottom, and you practically have to sit on the floor to put anything in. The actual hot tubs and saunas and steam rooms and everything else they offer are great! But again, the staff make it so uncomfortable for you! The guy who was walking around with the please whisper sign, almost stepped on my hair a few times because he came right up to the edge of the hot tub and just stood and stared at people. No smile, no nothing, just standing there, intimidating, with a scowl on his face. The service in the restaurant is always slow, but that’s fine because the food is good. But, ONCE AGAIN, the staff are beyond miserable. Maybe everyone was having a collectively bad day? No one offered us beverages when we were first sat, when we asked to move closer to the fireplace, as it’s winter, and we’re wearing bathing suits and a robe and were seated next to the floor to ceiling windows, we were told to wait for a table. When one finally did become available, we moved, and asked for another table (because the tables around the fire place are no bigger than tv tables) our waitress had the worst attitude, just snapped that we’d have to wait for one to become available, no problem, but she didn’t even try talking to the couple across the way, who had three tables, and was using one for empty dishes! Again, no smile, no hello, just an attitude. When the food finally came, she threw our plates down, and we had no where to put our waters, (because the table was small) she told us to either put it on the other table, half a sofa away, or give it to her. So we ate our meal without water, or any other drink for that matter, because there was simply no room. When I finally did ask her for more water, after I’d finished eating, she just walked away, and I had to go to the bartender and ask him for it. She came back 10 minutes later, without water. Once we’d finished eating, another tv table became available, so she brought it over, and ‘wiped’ it down, it was sopping wet after she managed to do the bare minimum for paying customers, and by that point, we didn’t even need the table, we were most definitely were not about to order more food or spend any more money in that restaurant after the way we’d been treated by the waitress. So needless to say, I won’t be coming back for the service, I’ll be coming back for everything else. It’s unfortunate that after spending so much money at thermea the staff aren’t trained in hospitality in any way shape or form, and if they are, it isn’t enforced by management that they practice what they learned. I would absolutely recommend thermea to friends and family. I just tell them to expect an attitude from all the staff, from front desk, to the restaurant, to the staff working the actual spa area.

Jennifer Desrosiers

I will wait till covid is over before I go back. Definitely, not the same through nobody's fault, extremely disappointed with the price of the food and the amount given.

Jordan Schimnowski

I’m not impressed at all my mother had a birthday for nov 16 and we never knew we had to make a reservation, I walked in with myself mom and sister, and they turned us away. I’m not impressed at all I use to love thermea and now I can’t say it’s my favourite place anymore thanks for ruining her special day. I have worked in spas all my career as an RMT and this is not about an experience anymore this is an inconvenience. And all they care about is money.

Summer Lachance

Went there yesterday for the first time and it was amazing! Spent about 8 hours there enjoying the thermal experience and a massage. I really enjoyed the aufguss ritual they have every couple of hours. The pools are also great and relaxing by the warm fire was so cozy. I highly recommend visiting this place! Best spa in Winnipeg.

Hugh Franklin

Staff a really great. They all work hard and seem to be doing a good job. Issue is, as others have said, it is a victim of its success. The place is just not really relaxing... The hotub is full of people chatting (which is okay). Then in the sauna it is quiet but there are so many people coming and going it is impossible to relax. Great place really, but they might as well drop the pretense and let it be just a place to hang out

Lasha Glennie

One of my favourite places in the city. A few hours is never enough - an entire day is best. Their restaurant is delicious. I like to bring pure rubber flip flops to wear. Anything with fabric on them will get wet and freeze in cold temperatures. I like to rent their robes because they will get damp and I don't want to bring a damp robe home with me. Every hour they have infusions and you will hear a gong alert you so you can go join if you wish in the sauna. I love that you can now make an appointment for your thermal experience.

Yannick X

Two warm pools, two reservation required saunas. Kinda small. It’s not worth with $71. And I saw a lot of pictures in the reviews, but when I was trying to take a photo of the sky, a staff stepped out and said that I cannot do that because people in the pool will be taken in the photo. Ok well maybe people on the sky.

Dyllan Angelkovski

Amazing place to go relax and get away from everything for hours. Food is amazing here as well. I would definitely return again.

Caitlyn Cassell

They have not worked out a good system to manage Covid health regulations. People had to stand around outside shivering in their robes because there was 'no room' in the pools or the buildings. Their sign-up system for the steam rooms is not effective... we had to wait almost 3 hours for our 'turn'.

Wake Up Winnipeg

The services received were very poor. I Cannot comment on the thermal spa experience but the Spa/Massage was very forgettable. The massage was done in a room about the size of closet on a massage table that was very rickety, with every move I thought the table was going to collapse. The massage was very underwhelming and to top it off the person administering the massaged gave me her contact info and offered to massage me outside of the spa since she thought it was a "rip off" to pay that much for a massage. Very unprofessional. I will not be going back.

Reid S

Amazing spa experience and very relaxing. Service was amazing and overall great experience. Only downfall was the food being very overpriced and lacking in quality with most dishes being poorly thought out and just thrown into bowls. I would come back but stay away from the restaurant and just come for the spa experience.

Liz Edmonds

I love the thermal experience and although I've only had a massage once it was great! Reservations are a must. It's is getting so crowded these days. I'm just always a little disappointed with the restaurant. It's by no mean terrible but just falls short of expectations. The options feel a little more burger joint than spa and last time our server had a cafeteria sort of attitude and slammed every dish on our table. Not as relaxing as I'd like. More lighter dishes and small plates would be nice. I personally just can't eat a big meal then go back into a sauna. Still that won't stop me from going back to the spa again! Parking lot needs work but probably isn't a big deal unless it is raining. When it rains it's a lake! Bring your rubber boots!

Natasha Snir

I'd leave zero stars if I could! Horrible place, why people come here I have no idea. It's so over crowded how can relax with so many people everywhere. The check in service and payment desk is very unorganized, took far to long and very crowded. The Swedish massages are also horrible unless you like oil tickeled all over you. Waste of money! this spa is far overrated! There are far better spas in Winnipeg then this one, go to them instead.

courtney hudson

Went yesterday for the first time and it was amazing!! Spent 4 hours and then came home and took a 2 hour nap! Who knew relaxation could be so exhausting?! I only wish they had more heated hammocks or they had a time limit, no one seemed to leave them and I was really looking forward to those! But we will definitely be back!!

Nick Pizza

Shhh, dont tell anyone how good this is! This spa made my weekend. It was busy, of course, but very relaxing. The exfoliation and steam rooms were the best. Periodically had to wait in lines for things but thats okay - but thats why it is only four stars. The waiting in line minimizes the relaxation. They are very popular and should expand or cap entry. The parking lot was overflowing when we left - clearly signifying that its over the originally planned capacity.

Barb Step

I had the extreme pleasure of having the glorious spa experience topped with a deep tissue massage from Valerie. Not only was she very professional, her hands were the strongest I have ever experienced. Her knowledge and expertise was excellent. I would highly recommend going to see her to get a tune up. Thank you Valerie, I’ll be back.

Mikayla Lalama

I had an amazing experience with Valerie. I had an intensive massage and it was hands down the best massage I've received at Thermea. Valerie was so kind and so passionate about wellness. She provided exceptional service and made sure I got the most out of my massage. I will definitely be booking with her from here on out.

L Nel

A wonderful relaxing afternoon. Dealt like a monk in with everyone there in a hooded bathrobe and the soothing music. Was a good treat

R P

Restaurant had to close mid day due to brown water issues. After waiting over an hour we decided to go out for food before our massages. That didn't seem like it was the first time that's happened there either. Also so many people seem to still speak in the silent areas.

Dorothy Boles

The service was amazing. The staff was polite and extremely helpful. The massages and treatments great. A little pricey but worth it.

PGW W

The covid protocol seems to be going smoothly. Nearly all services are available but in a distanced format. Staff is helpful and professional.

Sachit Mehra

Simply amazing! Great facility, staff and services. A boon for Winnipeg and its residents.

jerry maliwanag

Is a great place to bring your significant other. I love the experience, hot, cold, rest, repeat. I like that it's outdoor, went in the winter, very refreshing. Didnt do any of the massages. The restaurant is good with reasonable prices.

IRIS SPITULA

Be very careful as to who you get for a massage therapist. I’ve tried to put in a claim for my massage and Sun Life denied my claim. They told me my massage therapist I had has been suspended. To get the therapist off suspension Thermea needs to contact Sun Life and they refuse nor will they return my call or messages. Really don’t know what’s going on a Thermea. Used to be such a great place.

Ryan P

Second visit. Love this place. Excellent licenced massage therapists. Immaculately clean and fantastic atmosphere. Love their quiet policy. A group got hushed (by an employee) in a pool we were enjoying. Felt like I was in elementary school again. But it worked. :)

Ashley baum

This is a must stop for winnipegers and visitors! A truly relaxing and unique experience. It will appeal to avid sauna users as well as first timers. The restaurant is cozy and delicuous and feels casual and upscale at the same time!

Chelsea Boychuk

This was my 3rd time going to thermeä and all the other times it was great! Today I went and was alittle disappointed with somethings. The hot whirlpool was not hot it was about the temperature of the warm pool. Also was pretty dirty, had thick brown gunk on the sides where the waterline is. When we went in the relaxation room (with the ropes hanging from ceiling) the stone slabs weren't turned on so wasn't warm. Too bad cause it was pretty cold today. Other than those things it was very nice! Saunas were great!

Dave Nazgul

By far my favourite place to visit in Winnipeg. The polar bear is why I visit on a regular basis. I train for the cold daily and was able to get 35 minutes in the freezing water. If the owners ever want to teach their patrons how to wistand the cold, I'd teach people for free. There's nothing like the cold to heal you're mind body and spirt.

Brock Stimpson

So relaxing, it felt like we were in the middle of nature. Had a wonderful massage as well

Natasha Zymirski

Not worth the price and very long line up to pay at long check in. Save your money and time.

Kristin Popowich

My sister and I drove across the city to enjoy massages and the thermal experience on January 2nd. We arrived first thing and were told that the hot tub was down until 1pm for maintence and asked if we still wanted to check in. We did not want to as the hot tub in January is sort of a highlight of making the journey, but were told we would be charged for our massages regardless since it wasn’t within the cancellation policy timeline, so really had no option ( would have been over $200 for nothing). I paid for the massages and then the woman at the desk told me to insert my card again and was trying to put an additional $150 on my credit card for use at the restaurant or to buy merchandise. Although she said it wouldn’t be charged to my card if I didn’t use it I found it odd and pushy to just go ahead and load that money onto the wristband without asking. I said no and refused to have it on there which she then rudely told me “soon this won’t be optional”. We proceeded on outside to the vapour room only to find that they had issues with the water fountain pipes and the floor was covered in cold water. We didn’t spend nearly as much time at the facility as we would have like because when the hot tub did reopen at 1 it wasn’t even hot, the pool was warmer than the hot tub. Huge disappointment. When we went to the change room to leave the frustration continued as it was extremely crowded and people were unable to acesss their lockers because you couldn’t even move. I got my insurance forms on the way out and was once again spoken to rudely by the front staff at the desk, they are extremely rude and not helpful at all. They also informed me that they turned up the temperature of the pool to make up for the hot tub being down, which was a definite bacteria concern for me once I heard that. I will mention that the massage therapist Dawna was fantastic and went above and beyond for me. Her service and friendliness was the only highlight of the trip. This was not my first time at thermea so I’m incredibly disappointed on how downhill their service and experience has gone.

AJ Hiltz

Ultimately it's a very nice place. Admission price places it in the special/once in awhile category. Food is overpriced and if you have food allergies then you may not be able to eat there as entrees are set and removing ingredients is not possible.

Brenna Wilson

It was pretty busy when I got there at 11! Had a massage booked for 3pm (with Selena, she's amazing). Spent 3+ hours in the thermal area, then popped into the restaurant after my shower for a glass of rose and some lavendar Panna Cotta before my massage. It was all great! Only downside is a couple ladies who weren't quite understanding what whispering is. The whole hot tub knows your stories now ladies!

Danae Smith

My friend and I met at Thermëa at 10:00 on a Wednesday. She had a massage booked for 1:45, and planned to spend the day as she had a coupon for classic massage, robe, and Thermëa experience! I had planned to spend my time in the pools etc. (lunch together at Thermëa was planned as well). She arrived 2 minutes before me and had already entered the change room. Upon my arrival I was told they were at capacity. After talking to the front desk girl and with no success we asked to speak to someone else, who we assume was the manager. They would not let me enter, they would not refund her voucher as it was not within their 24 hour cancellation period. They insisted to be at capacity, when it appeared to us and other customers that there were very few people there. We were told they did not have enough lockers at that time to accommodate more customers. My friend said she would share her locker - the response was it was against fire regulations. We had both driven 40 minutes for a relaxing Thermëa experience together. However - We were told by the "Manager" that if I booked the next available massage at 3:00 they would let me enter, and had a locker for me! I was not able to do that as I had to leave by 3:00. So - if I spent more, they would accommodate me? My friend spent the day alone at Thermea, and I left! We were extremely disappointed with the way we were treated for our "Relaxing Thermëa Experience”!

Jenny B

Beautiful spa and pleasantly surprised upon arrival. I had no idea there were going to be different aromatherapy steam rooms, variety of saunas, napping areas, different temp pools. Super relaxing. I found the whisper policy a bit silly and restrictive. One or two quiet rooms would have been plenty. Overall I would go back in a heartbeat during my next stay in Winnipeg. Bring a water bottle, flip flops and robe if you do not want to rent/purchase.

Jean Berg

So much to explore, didn't have time to do everything. I loved the hot saunas and hammocks but 'the Aufguss' performance of oil infusion into the hot sauna in the Finlandia Sauna was beautiful and invigorating. The Eucalyptus steam sauna (Vapora) was a great place to start. Lunch (tomato sandwich and salad) violently turned my stomach, and I was worried I would have to leave but after three quick trips to the washroom, I enjoyed a fabulous massage with Alan who I would recommend. Will have to wait until next time to enjoy some wine or s'mores. I had to leave before the live jazz musician, but it sounded interesting.

Kim Than

I love going to thermea and it had been a while so when I was asked to go I agreed. When I paid $70 I thought the prices have increased quite a bit but understandable with inflation and now they provide you with bathrobes. It was disappointing that we could barely go into the pools because it was always over capacity. And when we were in there for 1-2 minutes others kept coming in when it was over capacity. There would be constant announcements and we would be the first to decide to leave. We had to wait half an hour for classes. So majority of the time we just stood and sat around. I initially thought by booking a time to arrive meant they would keep their numbers within guidelines or at least to avoid sitting around. In my opinion if there’s constant announcements of over capacity there’s an issue to address.

Divyansh Kaushal

Good experience, at the ???? pool ,sona and massage , specially the food is great. Wish I had more time to spend...

Natalia Manaigre

It was my husband’s first time and my second time as my son took me there for my birthday on December 22, 2018. When we got there we added $100 to our bracelet and then started to enjoy the day. We had plans to have lunch but ended up eating at 2:30 and finishing about 3:30. Not once did the waitress tell us that they were closing at 4 o’clock. We went back into the pool and then we were told that they were closing at 4 o’clock. If we would’ve known that they were closing at four we would not have of eaten and had a bottle of wine. I didn’t even have time to shower as everybody was rushed and because it was my husband’s first time he accidentally brought the bracelet back home, which we will return. If we would’ve known the timings, we would have planned our day better, as we live on the other side of Winnipeg and we were going to stay there until our dinner reservation. The website stated 6 PM. This day was very disappointing, especially being my husband’s first time. It is a beautiful place to relax but today we felt very rushed. Your holiday hours needs to be advertised a little bit better, if not on the website, at least verbally as there is lot of people are there for the very first time.

Mandy Dollmont

I left Thermea feeling new. This spa is incredible and the staff are even more so. The food was wonderful and the treatments worked wonders. If you haven't been yet, you should definitely go when you get a chance.

Jennifer Hanson

My partner and I went to Thermea looking to relax and discovered they were allowing too many people on the premises to safely maintain social distancing. We left after 30 minutes and asked for a refund and was told that MB Health inspected several days prior and they received top marks; a claim that is suspect given that we personally noticed a number of people not complying with the mask mandate in indoor spaces of the facilities. They have declined to give us a refund, meaning that instead of spending $165 to relax, we spent it to have an experience that left us stressed out, angry and out money that could have been spent on a safe activity. We used to go several times per winter. Because of their lack of adherence for social distancing, we will not be returning. I encourage all health-conscious visitors to consider whether this is a business you can risk supporting.

Jake Goods

I wish I could come here everyday, very relaxing! I want to take my daughter here for her 15th birthday is there an age limit?

Carol Maxwell

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our spa experience. It was amazing. However our dining experience during lunch was quite a different story. Items we ordered on the menu were apparently “out of “ after being recommended by the server and a 20 mins or so wait , twice. Then out of no where a manager comes to our table and makes a request to look in our water bottles, saying it was a random check however he did not check anyone else’s in our area. We found this quite offensive considering we are middle age or a little older ladies relaxing and enjoying our lunch and our water bottles that we had filled from the spa were tucked in st the end of our table and we were drinking coffee and tea This totally ruined our experience and left a sour taste. Not sure if I would go back or recommend to others

Kylie Wasiuta

A beautiful unique atmosphere and a place to relax. The restaurant and spa area are incredible. An experience you won't find anywhere else.

Cass K

Felt a different man as I exited my last visit in chilly February. Food is surreal, make the effort and pay the extra money to eat there, as it is a perfect compliment to your experience. A reasonable price for soul decompression, and I have made massage appointments for 4 of us this June, expecting to be blown away by Thermea once again, this time in the sunshine.

Chris Knight

Want a day away from the kids or need to relax after a crazy week of work? This, THIS, is the place to come. let all your stress, drain away. From the moment you walk in, until the time you leave, you will be in a relaxation paradise. The best time is when the air is crisp and cool. I have done warm seasons and cool seasons, cooler is better.

larisa silva

My 2nd time to visit this get away magic place. I dont have one single negative comment about this beautiful place. My stress levels subside the minute I enter this place. Absolute serenity. Love it. Look fwd anytime I go there.

Sandra Arneson

Every time I've gone on a weekday, it's been fabulous. Avoid peak times and the place is peaceful, relaxing and you're not rubbing sweaty legs with others. Go when it's busy and...it's no fun. Can't get into anything, long waits, bodies touching everywhere. Lunch was delicious too. Only complaint is that on at lunch on a Wednesday the restaurant staff were overwhelmed and had to stop serving customers for 30 minutes (Maitre'd informed the customers of this as we were leaving).

Brad Armstrong

Loved the outdoor spa pools with the steam rolling off into the cool fall air. The saunas were not as hot as I prefer but we just stayed in a little longer before plunging into the polar pool. Steam rooms were great and the relaxation pavillion was... relaxing. I fell asleep for an hour. Will definitely return the next time we are in wpg. We went first thing in the morning and there were only about a dozen people but when we left shortly after 12 it was quite busy.

Matthew Halpin

THE FACILITY IS WELL THOUGHT OUT. THE NO CELL PHONE POLICY SEEMS TO NOT BE ENFORCED THOUGH AND THE FRONT DESK SAID "AS LONG AS THEY WEREN'T TEXTING OR TALKING LOUDLY ON THEIR PHONE!" NO CELL PHONE SIGNS EVERYWHERE - MEANS EXACTLY THAT - NO CELL PHONES. SOMEONE IN MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO GROW A SPINE AND ENFORCE IT. NO EXCEPTIONS. FULL STOP.

Charlene Epp

Very relaxing! Loved the spa selections. Had a massage which was amazing! Ate in the restaurant. Although very tasty, was a bit too pricey for the portion sizes. Great 4.5 hours but costs for the both of us was easily over $425 and the 2 glasses of wine were not included.

Matt

Absolutely beautiful place. My wife and I had great 90 minutes messages. Only reason it’s not a 5 star is its incredibly expensive, spent over $600 for the day and the parking lot isn’t paved and it rained a ton before we came so it was incredibly muddy.

Arik Zilbert

In overall fantastic experience. Wish the dry sauna would be hotter 79°c it's a bit low especially when people walk in and out all the time. Wet sauna is great but a use of synthetic aromatic "oils" doesn't add any value .

Tyler Anderson

This place uses nonemployee taskmasters when they ask you to leave. I have Asperger's and they didn't ask my side of the story and they have no evidence of wrongdoing, aside perhaps the money they made off me in tips and alcohol. Shame! Not sure if the operations manager knows about corporate law and liability. Can't believe I haven't heard from them in 2+ months.

Ryan Unrau

Although the spa is clean and beautiful the customer service ruins the experience completely. Facility is not fully open with confusing covid protocols. Not able to contact anyone there after 4pm does not make sense. I suspect they steal items. They refuse to actually discuss matters through the phone. They are only able to do things one way with training completely lacking. And then blame covid for the faults in their service.

angela holzapfel

This place is crazy busy. It's beautiful but not super relaxing on a weekend. The requirement that you remove sandals in the wet sauna and shower area seems to be a recipe for catching foot diseases. However, if you avoid thinking abouf those things and just focus on the beautiful place, it's great. The landscaping is beautiful. The buildings are lovely. They enforce the no talking rules do it's actually pretty quiet and peaceful even though there are piles of people there. The cafe is nice but as expensive as you might guess. Overall, it is definitely a must try spa experience.

Erin

Everything was really well maintained and separated for COVID. We ended up going early and my only complaint is that by 1pm we ended up leaving because there was no way we could enter the pools without being too close to other people, and the saunas we're booking an hour away, so we couldn't do much. It sucks that we had to leave early.

Carly F.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like a few things need to be addressed. My sister and myself came to thermea together on Wednesday, April 5. It was our first time. The facilities are great and we had a lovely time. There are a few things to note. First of all, it felt like the cleaning of surfaces was not up to par for covid times. We especially noticed that where people were lounging in the the rest area was not cleaned consistently. We sanitized our own spots, but a staff member should be watching for this constantly as most people did not wipe down their spots after taking a nap or resting for a while. Another thing to note is the lack of communication. It was quite confusing to know where you should wear masks and where you don’t need to. We found that the staff enforced rules in a way that was a little bit off putting and demeaning, probably due to the fact that we are young adults. A couple of times, my sister was told to put on her mask, while older adults who had their mask off or pulled down were not approached. We had lunch on the patio, and while eating, my sister pulled out her phone to take a photo (there was no other person in the photo). As this was our first time at the spa, she did not realize this was not allowed and no one told us upon arrival. A staff member came up to her and said “if I see you try to take another picture, I will make you put your phone in your locker.” We now understand that this is not allowed, but it was an inappropriate and embarrassing way to enforce a rule. It would have been nice if they enforced the rule politely instead of threatening. Overall, it was a great day, but some more clarity and manners would have made it even better.

Kristine Loomis

Love this spa! Staff is friendly and discreet. Everything is clean and quiet.

Sandy Pimentel

I went for a massage and it was great! The front desk staff wasn't the greatest, didn't ask if had been there before which I haven't and didn't offer a tour or a drink. Just asked if I was going to eat in the restaurant and if had to go to the bathroom, and go upstairs

Denys Smolianytskyi

I wish I could put 0 stars! 16+ years old to attend? Really?! It's really sad that there is no place and no owners that will understand that family relaxation also needed!

Sylvie Coutu

It was the perfect way to unwind before the hustle of the Christmas holiday. The massage was top notch

Erica Kehler

Really best experience!

Private Account

Their in-house bathroom products like shampoo and conditioner are dollar-store quality, please bring your own. Also the lockers are very small so dont bring your coat inside if possible.

Trina Playoba

Too packed. Not relaxing. It just feels dirty being there. I would never go again. I came about a year ago and prices went up and NOTHINGS been added. If anything it’s gotten worse.

Brant Field

Thermea is a fabulous place to while away the hours soaking, scrubbing, and steaming. The three pools with varying temperatures are nice. The steam rooms will melt your face if so desired. The best treatment available is the salt scrub. Go to town with the stuff, you won't be disappointed.

Wanda Cain Johnson

Ahhhhhh, such a great way to relax. Enjoyed the first trip there and was able to be COVID safe with friends. The ability to go at your own pace was refreshing. It was a milder winter day and everything looked so pretty with the fresh snow on it. Looking forward to another visit.

Jeff Mayo

Amazing staff!

Anna Vainrub

Very interesting place. The lockers are a little to small. All the rest is perfect.

Stephanie Roy

Today was my first time here & my experience was nothing but Amazing! From the time I walked in, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. My massage therapist Vivian was very inviting, kind & knowledgeable. I left feeling very relaxed & happy with my services! I will definitely be coming back in the near future!

Drew Michaels

Best in the city for massages and the thermal experience is a yearly must! Love it. Beautiful atmosphere. Feels like you're in another country.

Jag Sandhu

Bring a bathing suit and flipflops/sandals and relax. The spa amenities and massage are wonderful, and the presentation is worth it. Great for couples wanting a nice, relaxing time together.

Maxime Maurais

Amazing place! I'm used to this kind of place because there is a ton in Quebec, but this is the best place out Western Canada. The food, drinks and cocktails are pretty awesome too. I heard some comments about the "whisper policy". This place is all about relaxing it is not a place to chat and have an actual conversation! Some people do not understand the purpose sometimes. But that aside, it is amazing. I'm stopping there for an amazing evening every single time I'm in Winnipeg for business.

Joe Perkins

I used to love coming to thermea I don’t know how it could go under so badly but terrible now. The front desk doesn’t know what they’re doing. It’s supposed to be a nice replacing place but it’s hectic and terrible.

Chad Savoie

My wife and I recently visited Thermea to celebrate our 20 years of being together. All our previous visits have been excellent, up until this recent experience. We decided to treat ourselves with massages, which were great and a spa day. When booking over the phone we were assured we could come in at any time to enjoy the spa experience. We were told that Thermea takes care of people who book massages and exceptions are made for entering the spa at anytime. Unfortunately this is not the case and we were told we could not enter because our arrival time was slotted for later. We had to wait for around 20 minutes while they verified our story from the recorded conversation we had with reception. Being called a liar in front of all the other guests is not a good way to start a getaway. We were also appalled to witness a staff member opening guests beverage containers and sticking their nose in them. We assume the reason was to check for alcohol. But to do it while guests were in the sauna and without their knowledge or permission is not right. Please correct this behaviour. Thank you, Chad Savoie

If you like your car, do not drive into their parking lot. Park on the street. The parking lot will swallow small sedans. Once you navigate from the parking lot the thermia experience is blissful. Very nice staff, great facilities and pretty good value. Loved the hot slab beds. Electric heated hammocks were very nice. Best to pick a day when it is less busy like a monday and or tuesday. We had no issues with accessing any of the amenities. Look forward to coming back.

This place is utterly fantastic! Great staff, not crowded, wonderful restaurant. Easy to get to, yet so tucked away, you feel like you've left the city and are at an oasis of calm and quiet. I cannot recommend Thermea enough.

April Ayotte

Amazing experience! I would suggest getting massage after the spa! Can't wait to go back!

jessica love

Food poisoning! Hello I was at thermia on the weekend right after Valentine’s Day and I had the most horrible experience. Not only was one of the pools shut down but I got the worst food poisoning off the vegetable sandwich there!! Sounds odd considering it’s a sandwich made with vegetables no chicken or fish so salmonella poisoning expected. But low and behold I had the worst food poisoning which turned into a fever flu and now I have an infection Of the lymph nodes. Beware of the overpriced Cross contaminated food.

Vaso Fast

I was there on Easter and it was pleasantly not busy. I loved this experience. I've been 5 times and this was by far the best time so far! We were often alone in the steam rooms or saunas and could make it to every aroma therapy session in the steam room. We had a couple of drinks in the center cabin and it was amazing. Kudos to Barb for being extremity helpful when we asked for an unusual favour! Again if you have the chance to go on a holiday... DO IT!

stuart adamson

Had the best experience today. Food amazing, customer sevice was absolutely top notch. Friendly and helpful staff. Will be returning many more times. Thank. You

Devon Sylvestre

Thoroughly amazing experience. From the massage to the entire spa experience, I have never been so relaxed in my life. I would definitely recommend the Aufguss ritual for anyone who attends, be ready to sweat!

leonardo gutman

Amazing place, it’s a good place for relaxing and have espectacular time with your lover, also the restaurant are good the service and food.

Z Rodriguez

A little piece of heaven in your hometown.

Ali Charkeih

A little piece of heaven on earth. The saunas and steam rooms were majestic, and the food was sublime. Only recommendation: offer slippers since you’re offering the robe and towels. For next time we will bring slippers, but for travellers it’s quite the inconvenience especially during the fall.

Mike Herbison

Simply amazing. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone!!

Papa Mbao

It’s truly relaxing and I loved my massage! They need to redo their parking lot tho! Otherwise thumbs up

My boyfriend and I had a certificate for the thermal experience. It was wonderful, the best part was the relaxation area. However we had a few people fall asleep and their snoring was unbearable. The restaurant was a huge let down. We were seated right away and our server didn’t come for another 10 minutes we ordered right away and our food didn’t arrive for another 20 minutes. Our server smelt awful, to the point where she would walk away and her smell would linger, I normally wouldn’t say anything but we ended up losing our appetite and the tables around us were also commenting amongst themselves. Our server successfully upsold me on adding cheese to my sandwich. It came with one single slice of cheese however, she failed to tell me that adding cheese was an extra 5 dollars. The food came and was fine, but was definitely way over priced. The service was incredibly slow due to the many servers talking in the corner, ignoring their tables. We wanted to order dessert but that took a while just to flag down our server. Once our desert finally arrived after a 15 minute wait our server disappeared again and we didn’t see her for another 30 minutes. We came in for a quick lunch but ended up taking about an hour and a half. It was not busy and there were way too many servers for the amount of tables. Once our bill arrived I asked why I was charged an additional 5 dollars, she said it was for the cheese I added to my sandwich. I said it was ridiculous especially after trying so hard to upsell to me. She was rude and didn’t reply but she was more than happy to take my money and walk away. The spa was wonderful, we really enjoyed the essential oils ceremony in the dry sauna. However, we will never return to the restaurant.

Sach Chachad

Love at first sight. Then fell in love by the hour. You have to visit this place.

Len D

I love coming back here! I always come out relaxed and stress-free.

K Murray

The experience started with being asked if we had a reservation, after looking it up online where it states if you are not having a treatment you don't need a reservation. (We were not having a treatment) We were then rudely told we were supposed to reserve, but since it was not busy we would be allowed in. Then the following things occurred: one of our locks was broken on the locker. All guests were shoved into one corner of the locker room, even though it was not that busy. The toilet area had dirty marks all over the wall and needed a fresh coat of paint. The change room did not have a bench or any hooks. It was really nothing more than a closet with a door. The showers only had one temperature scalding hot. And the soap dispensers were ripped off the wall and broken. We could not shower after the experience, due to the scalding hot temperature. None of the fireplaces were on outside. There are no towel warmers so once your towel gets wet you must use an ice towel after that. I understand it's a Nordic experience and all, but that's a bit dramatic for me. The wet steam room smelled so strongly of orange essential oil no one was in there cause you couldn't last longer than 2 minutes without coughing. We informed the manager of all these disappointing first time features and were offered a two for one, meaning you must buy the experience again, but two people can go for the price of one. That's not even good customer service. We politely declined and hope that the decline speaks volumes. Extremely disappointing, save your money and go to your favorite go to spa instead.

Feta chicken burger was very delious

relaxing clean ,lovely facility, i am wanting to go again!!

The spa itself and the environment is very nice. Saunas and the pools and so forth the relaxation areas all around a 10 on that experience. Restaurant is not worthy of the spa. Menu and quality of food need work. Pasta was very poorly made, not worked enough wrong flower. pizza shrimp?seriously Frozen precooked pizza shrimp!? do not belong in a finer dining establishments. If your going to do a shrimp pasta use the proper shrimp. your kitchen manager needs to do a much better job and sourcing locally made products. Nature's pasta is Steinbach, country meats and sausage in blumenort. We had a thriving pork industry wild boar! Manitoba poultry. There's even an ostrich farm that you can get stuff from around here. Ham from Brandon Manitoba seriously that's Maple leaf? You can get that stuff anywhere. There's so much potential here it'd be really nice if you guys actually used it.

An amazing outdoor spa experience especially in the winter. My partner and I went and we enjoyed the pools and saunas as part of the thermea experience. There are few varieties of each type (hot, cold, relaxing), but all offering slightly different relaxing experiences. The cafe food was tasty and artfully presented with attentive service. Our massages were also relaxing with professional staff. One negative aspect. The very first time we left our robes on hooks in a sauna, someone else took my partner's robe and headband, which was a gift with sentimental value. Exacerbating this, when we reported it to see if it were returned, and (particularly) when we called the next day about it, staff were rather unconcerned in their responses. Of course in retrospect we realize that we were naive to leave something important unattended, and it's not the spa's fault per se, but it still marred the experience--particularly the blase staff response.

I was here with my husband for our anniversary, in the spring. We got a massage ( which was wonderful) David is the man to see, for your back. The whole experience was wonderful, and food in the restaurant is amazing. In the spring , Our server- she was blonde, was either having a bad day, or in general not that friendly and so this made me contemplate going in the restaurant for the second time when I went last week. I’m glad I did! Cam is very friendly, polite, knowledgeable and a great server. Overall if you want a place to relax, come with your significant other, gal pals or even a day to relax like I did- spend the money! It’s so worth it! :)

The best kept secret in Winnipeg. Probably Manitoba. Come for the massage but stay for the thermal cycle. A 15 min stint in the saunas infused with oils and than a cold plunge in their sub zero waterfall. Than you can chill in the hot pools. Your muscles will thank you. Oh and it's the best food I've had in Winnipeg for the price, all locally sourced. Try their Nordik burger. Like I said best. kept. secret. Your welcome.

kaylan grabowski

Kevin helped me out and he was great! Extremely friendly and helpful, amazing service.

Leslee Klinck

Thermea Spa is amazing. Went today. $55.00 for as long as you’re there. We were there 6 hours. The hot tub, sauna, steam room are so relaxing. I’ve never been so relaxed in my life. The only down side I found is the lounge/restaurant. Extremely limited menu and way way to expensive. I tried a cheese plate. Could only eat one Tyler of cheese. Other 2 were gross. So I basically spent 18 dollars on bread. 14.00 dollars for one drink. Good drink but way too costly. Overall though I would go back in a heartbeat. Just not if I would need to eat.

Glenn

Very relaxing place. Has aromatic sauns, aromatic steam room and two heated pools. Has swings, hammock and hangout section where you can burn wood outside.

Wade Snowdon

The spa is an amazing escape and massages are top notch. And amazing getaway so close to the heart of the city. Eat beforehand as the restaurant is extremely slow and the food sub-par and extremely overpriced. I have eaten here twice and feel that most "at home cooks" could do just as well. Despite the restaurant, I highly recommend it!

jimbo wycoff

Great experience. Great way to pamper yourself. Definitely worth the money. Ended the day with a massage.

Jason McNish

Excellent people and a great atmosphere. Bring a toque and watch your slippers as mine were missing after getting in the hot tub. Spoke to someone else and theirs were missing as well.

Ric

It was great but for new people who didn't know how things worked the staff should've been more helpful and showed us /explained how things work more rather then us awkwardly figuring it out on our own.

Jazmynn Link

I took my 11 year old daughter for Thermea's Discovery Day yesterday and I was beyond impressed! My girl loved it and she really enjoyed the relaxation areas. I'd gone a few times before and yesterday was easily one of the best. It was incredible to see so many families peacefully enjoying their moring together. Staff treated my daughter like a princess and we both appreciated that they seemed to genuinely care how she was enjoying her time there, she was asked more than once. The popsicles and s'mores were amazing! Thank you for a beautiful morning, we hope for more in the future.

Chloe Barton

Thermëa is a must experience when travelling to Winnipeg! I ensure every time that I go to Winnipeg that I carve out time to visit the spa. It is my safe haven. The thermal cycle is very refreshing and regulating. Though the warmth of the saunas and hot pools is nice, I would recommend the full thermal experience and cold exposure. It is incredible what our body is capable of. I was able to comfortably withstand 5+ minutes in the polar plunge post dry sauna. I would also highly recommend the Aufguss Ritual. It is an experience like no other…

Nicholas Kelly

Probably the best place in existence

Andi McLeod

Absolutely loved it! I did not expect there to be so many different saunas. I tried them all and liked every one. The infused waters and teas available were a nice added touch. I will be returning soon!

Ok Tire

A great experience every time that I’ve visited. Very relaxing.

Rachelle Walker

So amazing, beautiful atmosphere.

Silvia Veldkamp

First time going. Mondays seem to be very busy. We had to wait 1 1/2 hours outside before we could enter. Dress warm incase there is a waiting period like we had. However, once in, it was a very great experience. I will definitely go back again at lest one more time in winter, then a few times in spring and summer. You have to try the Thermea experience through the different seasons, you'll love it.

Ann Gabs

It was a lovely fall adventure. The Covid 19 precautions put in place actually make the experience more enjoyable in my opinion. The saunas open with limited people each half hour. The only part that I missed with the new precautions is the infused water station, and having water stations throughout ( you have to go to front desk or restaurant to get water) .

Sidney Curvell

OMG Awful! Terrible crowded. You won’t feel “the spa” experience at all. It actually feels unsanitary due to the amount of people they allow in the rooms, and in the pool. I don’t recommend this place. Don’t waste your money. The massage was OK, but definitely there are better places in the city.

Flo inMB

Great for relaxation/ destress. There are so many options to choose from...massages, body treatments, dry saunas or if you just need to get the experience. You would need a robe, bathing suit, slippers/ sandals and your water bottle. It is okay to come alone but even better if you come with someone else. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Definitely coming back soon.

Donna Loewen

Loved it!

Christopher Martens

Shush!!! I wish it wasn't so stuffy with the hushing

L D

Best place to relax and enjoy the moment. I love this place. The restaurant is a little bit pricey but the food is delicious!

Dawn Smyth

Have not been in yet but arrived and there was a wait list. I have been to the sister spa in Gatineau many times. There is no place to wait on the wait list and they did not have the outdoor waiting area set up. No fire going. Not a relaxing start or even a good set up for the overflow. I came from the airport and specifically flew in early before meetings to try this spa. So far it does not live up to the quality of the other one in Gatineau.

M T

LOVE the "cycle" aspect and the outdoor amenities. I've been twice and it is so wonderful to relax for the whole day! Both times I recieved massages, which were good. However, the second time my RMT used cold oil which left me chilled, but other than that she was really sweet and did a good job. I was surprised at how good the food in the restaurant is as well- very tasty!! Charging up your wristband is also very convenient and saves you from having to carry cash or card. The flavoured water is also delicious. The only thing I feel Thermea could do to improve customer experience is work on the aesthetics of the change rooms! It's a bit gym-esque, and could use some light and style, especially the showers. Overall it is a wonderful place to spend the day. Absolutely would recommend! Will be trying a facial next time I go!

Cherstin Whatley

I can’t even put into words how amazing my massage with Valerie was. Relaxing, rejuvenating, heartwarming! So incredibly amazing!

Reese Loiselle

We had so many issues the day of my booked appointment for a facial and day at the spa. The massage therapist? Called in sick so they cancelled it initially. But i had a gift card and booked with a friend on her credit card for what my gift card didnt cover. They offered nothing to cover my loss except my gift card back and the difference as a crédit at the restaurant. If I had been unable to go that would never have made up for the inconvenience. We booked sitters and planned a hotel stay for after. The entire day was planned around this being a relaxing day for the moms. In the end someone came in to do my facial (she was amazing) and the spa day worked out but it was really down to the wire and the stress over it all was pretty inte8nse. With all that being said the actual experience was fantastic. The shusher was a little much but entertained us none the less. I wouldn't go in October again just slightly too cool for me personally but I am sure lots of people would love it. The saunas are all wonderful. The staff were pleasant for the most part minus the shusher who took his job very seriously. The other people there were fun. The pools are gorgeous and the entire place makes you feel rich and famous. Food and drinks are very high price. The food totally worth it. The drinks... Likely just to keep people from getting hammered. I do recommend going for the experience. It was super neat. But be weary of costs. I didnt bring any cash and was unable to tip the lovely lady who did my facial as my account was connected to my friends credit card as she booked for us and no one explained how any of it worked. So bring cash for that if you get any treatments done. As said food and drinks are very very pricey. But food was very good so I would eat there again. Fun experience but had I not had a gift card no way could I ever afford that. I was lucky I got spoiled for my birthday. Just spending the day there tho is reasonable!!! The extras are what getcha.

Natalie Gauthier

I have been to thermea multiple times and enjoyed it every time. Today, I had yet another amazing experience, however, 2 things could have been better: 1. The receptionist who checked us in automatically added 50 dollars to our bracelet without asking when we knew we were not going to need it as we planned to eat elsewhere later. He told us if we didn't use it we could come to the front desk after our stay to get it back, I am sure some people forget to do so and leave without getting it back. Also the receptionist at the end asked my partner if he wanted his back cash or debit and after he answered debit she handed him cash. I was not given the option which is frustrating as I would have preferred the money back in my account and not in my wallet. 2. While trying to enjoy the finish spa, we were unable to fully enjoy the experience as the staff on the other side of the wall were loudly discussing their shift, and other things which we could hear very well through the wall. It would be nice if the whispering policy applied to staff as well. Besides that I highly recommend going to thermea as the overall experience is amazing and relaxing.

shania b

My mother and I come to Thermea once every month- every other month. This past Saturday was our day to come back. I have never been so disappointed in the atmosphere in the pools and saunas. The noise was just unbelievable, and I have made many complaints about noise but no one brought the whisper sign around. I also asked if they lifted the silence ban, but the front desk staff assured me it was still in place. We will have to consider to find a different mother daughter bonding experience if this is how we are treated after spending so much money. I wish to have someone from head office contact me as I am very upset!!

Sarah Joseph

I could not recommend this less. The service and staff were terrible.

Madison Mclean

Great place to come and relax. Thermal experience is worth it. Massages a bit over priced. Restaurant is good but expensive. Intimate experience. Recomend bringing your own bathrobe and flip flops. Water bottle is recommended but not required as they have paper cups and infused water in multiple accessible areas. Can be very busy on Saturday afternoons.

Elizabeth Jean

I find this place has really gone down hill. The front desk has horrible customer service skills, the restaurant has over priced, small portion food that takes forever to get. The only thing good is the Aufguss. They need to run those more often.

Kathy De Jesus

They should have bigger towers for plus-size people.. otherwise its was excellent..

Juliette Loewen

Haven’t even been there yet and I’m already regretting my decision to book services there. I had initially tried to book online and for some reason it kept saying my post code was invalid, so I chalked it up to a glitch and called to make my reservation, ok, there’s nothing wrong with some human interaction, or so I thought. The man who answered my call was polite but not very enthusiastic about booking my services for me, and reminded me that I could book online. A couple days before my appointment I notice he booked the check-in for 45 minutes earlier than what I had requested and what we had confirmed on the phone. The email said any changes had to be made at least 24 hours prior. So I called to change the check-in time and got a less polite woman on the phone who refused to change the check-in time. She cited repeatedly that they work off a reservation system and that it would be “physically impossible to change the check-in” because they were at capacity. Tell me this, how making us be there 45 minutes earlier physically make any impact on capacity 45 minutes later if we would have been scheduled to physically be in the building at that time already? To be so inflexible over 45 minutes is shocking to me. Please also note, this is simply the check-in time, our actual treatment service aren’t booked until a whole 4 and 5 hours after our arrival. So far I have not found this to be relaxing or enjoyable experience. I guess if management calls me back, as the woman said, will show if they actually care about their patrons experiences at their establishment. I’m not too proud to say when I’m wrong and if the situation improves I will admit to it. But for now, my recommendation would be not to waste your money on an establishment that appears to have no concept of customer care or service.

Roy snir

Absolutely the worst spa I've ever been to! Customer service=0, this place is more like public pool than a high end spa. Will never go back again.

G Bia

The customer service manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment we walked in the door, which made me not even want to continue with our visit. It was supposed to be a fun outing that we'd planned for and spent a lot of money on, and she truly ruined the experience. We had issues with customer service the first time we visited but thought we'd give it another try - never again. Also, every other spa in the area offers amenities - robes, snacks, sandals, etc. - whereas at Thermea you have to pay to use the pools and for robe rental. There are even 50 cent tampon machines throughout the spa - really? For the priciest spa to offer the least amenities and have the worst customer service, I'd say it's definitely not worth it. We won't be back.

Clinton Neufeld

Love this place! Wish I could come more often!

Amy Trudel

Amazing food relaxing environment always a 5 star rating from me.

Justin Rondeau

Fantastic spa! I've gone two times and both times have been wonderful. Very clean facilities and nice and calming. They have everything you could want from a spa and offer a very unique experience you cannot get anywhere else in Winnipeg. Highly recommend as they offer free teas and flavoured waters for you to try in each of the saunas which is a great added bonus. Have not tried the restaurant or massage services so I cannot speak to those. However given everything else I'm sure they're lovely as well!

Natalie C

Extremely disappointed. Beautiful place but TERRIBLE customer service. We called Thermea directly on 3 separate occasions to book and reserve a golf and spa package. On all 3 occasions we were told the spa would not book that reservation and directed us to reserve with the clubhouse. After traveling over 6 hours and golfing our reserved round, we were turned away at the spa. We were told that we needed to reserve our spa portion ahead of time which was the complete opposite of what we were told over the phone, 3 times. Miscommunication is unfortunate but the lack of professionalism and accountability is extremely disappointing. There was no ownership of the miscommunication by the manager and hardly even an apology. If you're going to spend money here make sure you have a reservation. Don't take any employees' word for it if they tell you they do not take reservations. The golf and spa are operated separately, so make sure they are on the same page.

Raina Ward

You can easily spend 5 hours here as long as your bring extra money to refill your stomach halfway through!

Debby Golke

Great experience the staff is very friendly! They do well with Covid19 procedures and ensuring everyone stays safe!

Nadine

Definitely my happy place. It's best to go during the colder seasons. Food is absolutely amazing. Every visit is worth every penny.

Brittney Yoo

People were talking a lot even though its supposed to be a quiet place but other than that it was very relaxing

k s

The experience is great, very relaxing and lots of options for relaxation, tubs, sauna and steam rooms. The change room gets very busy and that's really the only downside because it's uncomfortable getting ready in there.

j mck

Really great experience. You can spend all day here if you want. You can bring your own robe or rent one for the day. If you care to eat here you just load your wrist band with money to pay for your meal. We had lunch and dinner and they were both excellent. There are infused water stations around the spa to stay hydrated. There are also teas. Hammocks for relaxing as well as beds and chairs. Very clean and it is quiet as long as other guests follow the whisper rule. I would go again.

Daniel Philippe

This place is great, even when its minus 30, though next time I'd bring better sandals

Kim Chopeck

I have gone twice now, once in fall during the week and once in winter during the weekend. My first time was a total 5 star experience we spend close to 8 hours there and felt sooo relaxed, We left feeling like a cloud. I loved all the different pools and saunas my favourite is the eucalyptus sauna. I loved the infused teas and waters as well! Very refreshing! I was not a big fan of the restaurant, very pricy for small amounts food tasted good but probably would not eat there again. The second time I went was in the winter on a Saturday and as I expected it was pretty full throughout the day which was not always a bad thing but it was often packed in some of the areas and I felt there was not always room to hang my robe. Often my robe was wet and they told me I could not switch it out (although they allowed that last time) therefor I was not very comfortable in my robe as it was freezing to put on after been in the pool for a while, and I am pretty sure my robe was taken on several occasions in the busy areas. The last time I went the pool had a little more dead skin floating then I would have liked to see but honestly when there are that many people in there I am not sure how that is preventable. All in all Thermëa is a good experience I would definitely recommend going on a weekday if you can, bring your own robe so you can find it easier. If this review was based on my first experience it would be a 5 star, my last visit a 3 star. So I went in the middle with a 4

Kierin Kocourek

I'm sure the spa experience is nice, but the customer service is not very good. We called to ask about purchasing a small robe, were told that they were in stock, and then arrived an hour later to be told that they had none available. It's understandable at Christmas time that they can sell out quickly, so we let it go. We purchased the next size up, but then found out that it wouldn't fit the person we bought it for. We called again and asked if we could return the robe if we had the receipt and it had not been worn. We were put on hold so the answer could be found, and then told yes. When we arrived, we were told that they don't offer refunds, only exchanges. The person that stepped in to help us said he needed to go listen to the recording from the call centre that I had apparently been speaking to. We agreed to wait, but were starting to get frustrated, as it seemed the call centre had now twice given incorrect information. The person came back and said he would make an exception and provide a refund, but that we were told by the call centre that only an exchange would be offered, not a refund. I questioned this, because I knew it was simply not what was said. The person then admitted that he hadn't actually listened to the call yet, but he knew we were in a hurry so he made an exception. I did not appreciate being lied to. Again, I'm sure Thermëa's spa experience is great, but as someone who also works in customer service, I would suggest that having a call centre handle the calls for a business like a spa is a poor choice. Customers have specific questions that only people actually working at the front counter will be able to (correctly) answer, and being given incorrect information by uninformed call centre agents leads to unfortunate reviews like this one.

Momma mia

Great facility. But staff made me decide to give me one star. We traveled all the way from alberta to experience this. Purchased a spa with a bathrobe rental. First things first: the line from the reception was really slow. The staff named ANGELA is speaking in spanish with the other receptionist. We got to the locker room, there's no space. It's supposed to be a relaxing experience but two things annoyed me right away. I had to wait for my turn to use my locker. The hot pool was quite nice. We tried the hot sauna, didn't feel like a sauna coz the staff kept opening the door and sayin "it's very warm inside already" (well, duh) so i just decided to leave. After trying all the thermal experience, in a -40 condition. My robe was rock solid ice. I asked the lady in the change room for a new robe and she said i have to go to the front desk, i went to the front desk and the receptio ANGELA said i have to go back to the change room. I'm freezing and no one would give me a damn robe. Seriously! I said never mind. I got hungry so we decided to put money on that wrist band. Another line for 20 minutes. While we were there. I asked that Angela to please give me another robe. She refused and said i had to pay another 12 bucks. I said it says online if i rent one they can give another one if it gets wet or whatever. I was just mad. The restaurant is pricey. The food was mediocre. You have to pay for marshmallows and that. Everything in this place is a money grab. That's not very relaxing for me. Sorry. I don't recommend this place and will not come back.

Bryan Warner

Great relaxing time. Food prices are jacked. Do not arrive hungry.

Vanessa Johnson

Always a great relaxing experience. Missed the Aufguss ritual and the hanging chairs and hammocks they usually have because of Covid, but the experience was still awesome! Plan to stay all day! I sure did! ????

Andrew Wilkinson

The thermal experience is a must! An absolutely fantastic middle of the city retreat for a relaxing day. With many options for heat and wellness. The Finlandia Spa towel show must be seen. Worth it alone.

Peter Ho

A very good spa experience. Food was fantastic too. I would recommend going on a weekday, as it is usually more quiet. Place was clean, very spacious, and prices are very reasonable.

Aurelle Goodmanson

Usually pretty busy on the weekend, we went a bit later to avoid the crowd. Place has two steam rooms, a large sauna and a smaller dry sauna, a large hot tub, small cool pool, a temperate pool and plenty of relaxation space. Restaurant has a small menu but good food and drinks, however, drinks can be a bit pricey. Overall a great place for relaxation, make sure you check the website for items recommended to bring.

Kelsey S

A few things to say from my recent visit on March 11. 1) The massage I had was amazing... the lady was very professional and did a very good job. The appointment was on time which I appreciate. 2) Myself and my husband had lunch there for the first time which was amazing. I had the vegan tomato soup which was so flavorful, he had the Manitoba Bison Tenderloin Carpaccio which was very delicious. The wait time for food was not bad, maybe ... 15 mins? I will definitely be back for these items. I do have one minor complaint... my cocktail I ordered came in a plastic 'glass' cup which was also quite sticky to hold. Now, when I am paying 12+ dollars for a cocktail, I expect best of the best since its so expensive. The drink itself was good. 3) The exfoliation room .... the 2nd water handle was STILL broken from the last time I was there in November... and the only working water handle only gave out cold water. 4) Probably the biggest complaint I have was the amount of people that were allowed in the pool areas. It was packed. Shoulder to shoulder in the hot pool and in the saunas... more people mean more noise. You pride yourself on being a very relaxing place... but it was not on this day. We didn't get to use some of the facilities because there were just so many people in there... it was my husbands first time coming so he was pretty disappointed. Someone should think about opening a second location to help disperse of some the people... or lower your capacity.

Fantastic place if you want to relax for the afternoon or evening. The atmosphere alone is already super relaxing and the staff is also amazing!!

Did not expect to experience this level of relaxation even on the last Thursday of the month when the silence code is lifted! At first I was taken aback but embraced the whole experience! The hot tubs, the steam rooms, the salt scrubs, the ritual saunas, all amazing experiences! The bistro offered decadent food! I ended my evening with a nap in the heated hammock! What a delight!!!

The thermal experience was a nice idea but it’s not for everyone. My boyfriend and I used a giftcard (thank god), because the prices are pretty extreme... it was both our first experience and we both agreed that it’s just not for us. It was extremely crowded so we were constantly really close to strangers and everybody was in a hurry just to get in the next spot which made the experience not as relaxing. We also did not receive any information on where to start, and how the rotation works. Overall, two star experience for us.
