I go here for my massage therapy. Great facility! It's clean, modern, and relaxing. The staff are very friendly, and the massage therapists are very good at what they do. They also offer online appointment booking and direct billing to insurance companies which make this place my go to every time.

We went there for a couples massage and it wasn’t as relaxing. At our arrival we were standing for about 5 minutes before anyone greeted us , they were just talking to customers about products . They were busy and is understandable but it would have been nice if they at least acknowledge our presence and asked us to wait or if we had One of the masseuse who was just walking by saw us and helped us. The music they played during our session had higher tunes that didn’t allowed us to relax and sleep. All of a sudden the new songs were loud with very high notes. If you guys can actually review your music will be great! We scheduled a 90 minutes massage and we only got a 60 mins one! We thought it was super quick when they told us it was done and to get dressed because there were other people waiting. then we check the time and it was only 1 hour! When we approached the desk they said that there was a miscommunication and we were only getting 60 minutes. Having a new baby we were really looking for ONE day off for ourselves. We drove over 40 minutes to check it out. Also, I think that this is not really a spa.... once the massage was done there was no place to seat and relax while enjoying a tea or water..... it felt more like a medical appointment where you are seen and then you are just back in the super bright reception area. I wish we had that relaxing day we were looking for....

I have been visiting Serene Escapes for the last 3-4 years and i am completely satisfied with the services by the massage therapists here. I do not have any personal favorite, i think everyone does a wonderful job but if i had to recommend somebody it would be Yuni Lee, i got a prenatal massage done from her. She knows her job exceptionally well, i felt completely relieved after getting her services. I would just add though, the front desk ladies are good but not friendly. They don't smile much. But overall i love this place, it's definitely worth it :-)

They changed my appointment without confirming with me or notifying me that it was changed. When I called to inquire , as I was quite confused why I was receiving different emails. the girl named Emily picked up and instead of being polite and apologizing about the situation. She was rude and was showing attitude. Really disappointed by the disorganization and lack of sympathy from the front staff regarding the matter, especially since I’ve been coming here biweekly - monthly. An apology would’ve been appreciated. It seems like they don’t value long time customer.

The service I received was a Pro60 facial. I found all the employees very friendly and professional, and did a great job at making me comfortable! However, I don't think the products used for the facial did a great job at addressing my skin concerns, as when I got the facial my skin was pretty much clear, but starting the day after, and now a week and half later, my whole face is red, inflamed, and very broken out. I am concerned about the scarring this will leave. While everyone here is very friendly, the facial service may not be suited to all skin types.

Well I didn't do my research and booked a manicure not realizing they don't have the tools to remove fake nails. BUT NEVER FEAR - my appointment wasn't ruined! I had THE BEST facial and eyebrow shaping of my ENTIRE LIFE. Seriously. no lies. I'll be back, absolutely, without fake nails so I can enjoy a hopefully equally magical manicure. I have high expectations now! Please note if you're not able to climb steps, pedicure services aren't accessible for you which isn't awesome. But the beds in the waxing room and the facial room are power adjustable for height and my specialist was very accommodating to my personal needs as a disabled woman.

Went there on Sunday April 17, 2019 around 1:00pm. Had already booked an appointment for a couple massage and drove 20 minutes to get there to only find out they booked a single session for my wife. There were two very rude ladies at the front desk who were not willing at all to fix the problem. They were acting so weirdly, and didn't even apologize or try to book us for another day. I have never seen so much disrespect.

I would want to leave more than a 2 star review, the girls working in the reception were really kind & apologized for the inconvenience. I booked my wife an ultimate spa package, (massage, facial and pedi or Mani) just to get a call from my wife to pick her up an hour early. They didn't book her massage. Quite disappointed, I really was excited my wife could have a full day at the spa after taking care of our toddlers at home.

I feel bad I have to leave this review but I feel it's in the best interest of the consumers. It's also a shame because it overshadows the positives. Extremely disappointing. My wife notified the receptionist a week in advance that she wanted a French manicure. It turned out the esthetician told her when we were there getting the service that she wasn't skilled enough to do one (I sincerely appreciate the honesty) but that was disappointing. My feet still have lots of callouses after the full spa pedicure. Many finger nails (mine and hers) didn't get properly done on the sides. The esthetician made her finger bleed during the manicure. The nail polish on her fingers is uneven and shows layers, sometimes doesn't fully cover the nail. Looks very poor. Very unhappy for such a discretionary treat of a service with so much competition in the city. What an overpriced and disappointing sub-par experience.

I have been getting massages here for a few years. It seems all of their massage therapists are well trained. I honestly have never had a bad massage! The frontline staff is friendly and professional. During Covid they followed protocols and I felt very safe. Since reopening the RMTs are wearing masks and I felt good about that since it's such a close contact service. My only suggestion is for receptionists to also wear masks or at least have plexiglass at the front desk. The front area is small and hard to socially distance when checking in. The RMTs still have to interact with front staff and go in the area to get client files so it would make sense for everyone to wear masks. Very satisfied with the service here otherwise though!

I have been attending Serene Escapes Day Spa multiple times this year for facials. I was in need of manicure and pedicure services for the first time due to a broken arm injury recently and could not care for myself. The staff has been amazing in taking care of me and working around the difficulties arising out of this injury in order to make the experience absolutely wonderful, even relaxing. I am thankful for the care and time given to me for these services! Very friendly, caring, professional, educated, certified and experienced staff. I look forward to my next manicure and pedicure appointment already and many more services in the new year! My New Year's Resolution is to finally take better care of myself and I have chosen Serene Escapes to partner with me to achieve this goal! Since my last review, I have continued to attend Serene Escapes Day Spa requesting regular care pedicures and facials and also for therapeutic deep massages for migraine prevention. Carrie is an exceptional, talented, personable and caring aesthetician who keeps my feet and face looking and feeling healthy and has upgraded my facials using the dermaplaning technique and uses the most amazing products my skin craves. Carrie is also working on my daughter with special needs using updated laser hair removal technology which is successful so far and Carrie has a wonderful relationship with her. My daughter also gets regular manicures and pedicures with various awesome aestheticians so her hands and feet are always kept healthy and VERY pretty! May is a wonderful massage therapist who works hard to help relieve some of my migraines and tension headache symptoms on muscles that are more than just skin deep. The receptionists are friendly and helpful and make us feel welcome. I look forward to each visit as I continue to focus on self-care with the help of the staff and the services they provide for my daughter and I.

Horrible experience. First of all, I did not even get who I requested they changed it even when I specifically told them who we wanted. Second..the pedicure was such a waste of money. My gel polish was so thick and uneven.. it came off not even a week later. Anna is a very nice girl but she did a horrible job.They didn't even properly get rid of the callus. They also didn't even try to clip off the dead skin around the toenails. You can honestly get a better job done at a regular nail salon with a cheaper price. I had to go someone where to fix my pedicure. Don't waste your money here!

I already left 5 stars for this Day Spa however, I wanted to give a customer satisfaction review for Janthira, the RMT who works at Serene Esacapes. Every time I go in for my massage, Janthira knows exactly what I need (which is usually a relaxation massage). I've referred her to my partner and she by far is his favourite RMT! She's great at deep tissue massages! Also, she is one of the friendliest and most kind people you'll come across. If you need a great RMT, ask for Janthira. You won't be disappointed!

Just had a lash lift and tint done yesterday with quite disappointing results. I did ask my aesthetician how it works and if the curl of my lashes can be customized as it is my first time, and all she mentioned was that it will look longer. With trust, I let her do her thing. To my disappointment I got home and my lashes looks like they're just straight, and even after washing they looked the same. I've compared my results to my peers who has had this done elsewhere and it's not comparable at all! My lash curler can do better than this on a rushed use. Disappointing.

Very very disappointed in the eyelash services here. Early January I had received a gift card from my work for WaySpa, because this spa is one of the providers I went here. I have heard great things about eyelash tinting and perming as an alternative to eyelash extensions. I thought why not use my gift card and treat myself before vacation so my eyelashes look beautiful. After reading reviews I was excited to try this place out. However I was extremely disappointed in my Eyelashes’s results of the service. I have before and after photos and my eyelashes look the EXACT same. No difference whatsoever. I thought, no big deal, I had a gift card anyway so I wasn’t losing money over it. I went to check out and they said they could not accept my gift card and that it had already been used. I was shocked as I had won it as a prize from my company and had not used it yet. Because I could not use my gift card I had to pay full price for the service, $90! I wouldn’t have had a problem paying that amount if I had gotten beautiful eyelashes out of the deal, but they looked the EXACT SAME. I paid $90 for someone to not change anything about them. So extremely disappointed with the service and outcome. I would %100 not recommend any eyelash services here.

From massage therapy, to pedicures, waxing, lash lifts, they all do a great a job. I also love that i can go online and see availability and book my appointments. The front receptionist staff and Alyssa are very professional and always do their best to accommodate your needs. Karin the owner has been my massage therapist for three years now and has helped me incredibly with any issues that i have. A wonderful spa all the way around!

I have been going to Serene Escapes for a few years now to have pedicures.The spa is very clean and the pedicure area is very comfortable. Rather than chairs they have a long bench, which at other spas I have found uncomfortable, but this one is very comfortable! The staff are very friendly and professional - they always offer tea or coffee and check in with me throughout the service to ensure I don't need anything. Making an appointment is always quick and easy, as is check out. Although all of the staff are great I particularly like Teigan, Nicole and Karen; they always take the time to ask how I am and what I'm up to and remember things we've talked about at previous appointments. I find that the prices are very reasonable and I've never left unhappy. I highly recommend Serene Escapes!

It's my first time trying brazilian waxing and lash lift and tint and the results were fantastic. Nicole was really nice as well as the lady who did my lash lift and tint (not sure if her name was Marissa). Would definitely go back and would love to try their other services as well. I went for electrolysis consultation. I saw the good reviews and I thought I would give it a try. The consultation was unhelpful and the lady could not even tell me how much time it would take for one full round of hair removal from my face. I wanted to get a test patch done because I have sensitive skin. Most places offer this for free with a consultation and only do a few hairs. Serene did not offer this. Their minimum treatment was 15 mins. I was OK paying the 25$, but requested that the lady to the test patch on my lower cheek area above my jawline. Instead they did it right on my cheek and my skin reacted horribly. I followed all of the post treatment instructions. These were NOT explained to me in the "consultation", I was just given a piece of paper. I broke out and now have horrible scarring on my face. This place is OK for massages but nothing else. I will never be going to Serene again. My face will never be the same, even makeup cannot cover up the horrible scars I got from this treatment. As far as I am concerned this place is unprofessional and should not offer treatments if they do not properly treat there staff and adhere to industry standards.

I was in a terrible car accident over a year ago that left my back in a bad shape and the stress caused my face to break out terribly. This spa is amazing for their messages and facial treatments. My face is going back to its original clear skin and the messages help with any odd pains that I get often. This spa also has some awesome deals and the front desk ladies were really friendly. I understand its normal to break out a few days after, but when the break out is over my skin looks brand new! These treatments are professional and awesome! I only have one star because of the good services from the lady who did my massage. But the girls at the front desk were not friendly and I can say they were impolite, before and after massage. They just looked at us without any greeting or smile. After massage, they started to look at us, whispering and laughing while we were talking with our therapists about our experience for the first time (and probably last time) at this place. They acted unprofessionally. It’s a clean and modern facility.

She got a neck n arm massage, which I didn't n I was expecting as have done in the past at a differnt spa. Not sure if I would go again for the price I was disappointed in the content.

Anong and Jenny were wonderful - friendly and professional and have worked wonders on both of our backs. The massage was a great mix of relaxing, stretching, and getting the pesky muscle knots out. Did a “deluxe manicure”. For double the price of a normal shellac manicure, there was not a lot different or better than a regular nail salon. Front desk ladies were not friendly. Overall this place is expensive and not worth the price, for nails anyways.

I had the spa pedicure and a 60 min therapeutic massage. The pedicure I found was a little short for the price and I didn't enjoy the big bench like seat. I found it very uncomfortable as you are stricly to sit in one spot and can't adjust your seating to the way you like it and have no where really to rest your arms or set any personal belongings. There was a few pillows but I didn't enjoy the seating at all when getting my feet done, I just felt it was an extremely cheap way to go for seating and maybe they tried to save money in this area. I am a male and I don't get my toenails painted or polished. I work 12 hours a day and for weeks straight in work boots, I like to have a good rub down on my legs and feet and feel it was lacking in the time area, she did a good job massaging my feet but it was way too short, I even sat there waiting for almost 20 mins before I got my therapeutic massage. The biggest issue I had with my therapeutic was they have a clock in the room that tics extremely loud, that's all I could focus on when getting my massage was tic tic tic and kept thinking about how much time I have left, I am not sure why they have a clock that tics loud like that, I mentioned it to the therapist and she just said you find it loud do you. It's in the room with two beds, just unsure why this clock has to be there, we are in a digital age and it causes you to be unsettled. The reason I give it a 3 is because I wasn't relaxed here at all. When I go to a spa I want to unwind and let go of my stresses and I couldn't achieve this at serene. I will give credit to the girls who worked on me, they done a really good job in their area other than the previous issues I mentioned.

I would have liked some oil sent in the room but maybe they can't do that because some people have allergies. This was our first time and I can tell you it will not be our last time. I really wanted to like this place since I’m looking for a new Waxer in a new city and the reviews for here looked great. Booking was super easy online and I got in quickly. My Waxer was nice enough and made me comfortable at the beginning. She asked if the wax was an okay temperature, at the beginning it was totally fine but as the wax went on it got hotter and hotter. I brought it to her attention but nothing was down to help cool down the wax (even as we were getting to more intimate areas). When I got home I noticed massive chunks that had been missed, so I called in to rebook. The receptionist was super polite and got me in the next day but when I went in for my appointment all I got was attitude from my Waxer for rebooking. To me a Brazilian means everything gone. It was super uncomfortable and more painful this time. When she was finished I noticed she had still left huge obvious spots. I ended up going to another company for a follow up service to fully finish my Brazilian. Overall I was super disappointed.

I just had my eyebrows threaded by Ms J. Worst experience ever. I have go be at my brother's grad tomorrow and she literally shaved off all my eyebrow hair when I had SPECIFICALLY asked her to JUST CLEAN the extra hair. It doesn't end here! When she gave me the mirror to check I was in shock and I said it to her that I thought they were too thin and she said "they look so perfect I only took off a few hairs and if you want I can take off some more" and she literally snatched the mirror away!! Never coming here again for any other services either. Her employer needs to test her skills. She does not know her job. So pissed off right now and not willing to be in any of my brother's pics. I have a before and after for reference.

Unfortunately was not the experience I was looking for. This was my first time to the spa. The massage therapist brought me back and asked how she could help me today. I explained with my work I suffer from a lot of upper body and neck pain and would like those areas worked on. The massage was 60min and she completed a full body massage. I would assume she spent 15min total on my upper back and neck MAX. Although it was a very lovely massage, it was not why I came. $94 to still wake up with neck and shoulder pain the next morning was really disappointing.

The ladies up front always greet me with a smile and the massages are always amazing! I have to commend my therapist May whom I have been seeing regularly. She is an excellent therapist as well as knows how to treat my upper and low back pain great. Serene Escape is my favorite place to go and now brings my 2 children too and they really enjoy their massage all the time. IO have started getting my facials too which is very awesome. Too bad the receptionists are responsible for our appointments & not the massage therapists themselves. I have been a loyal customer for years, even referring friends & co-workers to this business as Pam & Anong are amazing at what they do! However, the receptionists should be fired for their lack of professionalism & disrespect & fraud towards their clients. I pre-booked my appointment 6 days in advance online, even receiving both a text & email confirming the time 2 hours prior. Turns out that the receptionists changed my appointment time without my consent, therefore cutting my massage short just to squeeze in & cater to another customer who booked after me, getting the 1-hour appointment I was supposed to get. Great job ladies! Pam & Anong should thank you for a loss of some clients due to your inconsideration!

I've been to the Serene Escapes Day Spa twice. My first visit was for a mini mani and head massage with Teigan. She's really sweet and did a wonderful job! On my last visit, I had eyebrow waxing and a pedicure with Nyomi. I also got a mini mani with Carrie. Both ladies were super friendly and showed great care in their work. The front staff was also very nice and welcoming. I'm really impressed with this spa and their staff ~ I plan on visiting frequently!

This review will ONLY be based on my experience to the receptionist. I think it is time to remind them to give a more welcoming attitude to their clients. You come there for a chance to relax but they tend to be very COLD towards their clients so a bit disappoiting. I've been to other spa places and they would treat clients better. My massage was amazing but receptionist experience 1 star.

I had a great experience with Jenny as she gave me a very relaxing full body massage. The pressure applied started out soft, but when I asked for more pressure, it was perfect to my liking! She checked in on how I was feeling a couple of times throughout the session and asked if I needed anything at all. My mother had a good experience with Trish as she gave her a relaxing massage. Trish was very friendly and accommodating to my mother’s needs and checked up on her a couple of times throughout the session as well. The one thing my mom commented on is that she wished she received a FULL body massage instead of just her back and a little bit (not entirely) of the legs; it almost felt incomplete. Overall, it was a great experience/visit before businesses shut down again. Definitely will be coming back.

OIL THEY USE SMELLS LIKE MILDEW!!! EWW! If you want a massage and come home smelling like mildew. This place is for you. After so many times telling them that the oil they use smells like mildew and them continuing not to care..I finally decided to write a review. Tired of it. Time to find a new place that cares. To management: This review is written based on my wife and son's experience. Everytime they came home they smelled because of the oil you use. She had mentioned this repeatedly to management and nothing was done. To anyone new to this business: I caution you to be sure and ask to smell the oil first before they decide to rub it all over your body.

I wasn't sure what to expect never being here before but my expectations were far surpassed. I had an hour massage with Parminder and I'm speechless. I had been experiencing horrible pain causing an ongoing headache and left feeling better than I had in days. Her technique and pressure was heavenly and I can't wait for my next appointment as this was one of the best massage experiences I've had in ages and with chronic pain and previous injuries I've been for many. Also thankful.to the warm and welcoming front end staff as during tough times they were very nice and the protocol for covid was great. Many thx for a great first visit :)

Have gone here a few times. The last time I was there I had a 60 minute hot stone massage. The lady doing the massage was pretty bad. She literally did not massage me for more than 15-20 seconds without stopping for at least 30 seconds to do whatever she was doing whether something with the rocks or oil or what not. And whatever she was doing was super loud. ( moving the rocks around in the heater or whatever ) it was so distracting. I understand with hot stones rocks have to be adjusted and what not but this was not normal. I have had great hot stone massages.once at this location. I remember telling my husband after I don’t think I have ever had a worst massage. For someone to not massage more than 15-20 seconds then stop for 30 seconds and have it go like this the whole 60 minutes was bad. The amount of time I was actually massaged I would say was less than 25 minutes. Also the rocks were so hot I worried it may burn me. I usually loved them hot. Prob more so than most but this was insanely hot. I very much question this masseuses experience with hot stone massages and maybe massaging in general. For reference her name was Rocio I gave 2 star but honestly based on that massage doesn’t deserve that. But the place in general is clean and staff friendly enough. I’ve had past massages that were good there just this past experience was just bad so beware who you book with I guess.

I have been searching for a new day spa since relocating from Edmonton to Calgary and I am so happy I found this place. I have had a pedicure, manicure, and facial at this location all from Nyomi and I have nothing but excellent things to say about her. I am very indecisive so I really appreciated her helping me out with services and the recommendations for products she provided. She is very personable and makes sure you are happy throughout your service. Thanks Nyomi! The spa is very clean and nice and quiet so you can enjoy your service. I also found the servies to be very reasonably priced and I liked the different packages that were available. I will for sure make this my new full time spa!

I went today for a massage. I called in the morning and they got me in right away. Yuni was FANTASTIC. Highly recommend her if you come here. She isn't just rubbing ur back, she really is focusing in on your needs and really made my back feel so much better. TEIGAN gave me the BEST gel mani/pedi I've had in a long time. my nails are covered evenly, no lumps or bumps, no gel on my skin, no bubbles or fluff stuck in it (unlike other places I've been to in the NW) She is also super sweet and easy to talk to. I'll be back to see her. unfortunately my massage wasn't good. I couldn't tell my massage therapist as she was also really sweet, but I did tell the front desk and they said she has a unique style. my body was not massaged evenly, I think she was too distracted with conversation, my right glute is bruised now, amongst other things, but I don't want to rag on her too much, because again, she's was very sweet.

Had a fairly good experience here . Staff is friendly . I went in for a therapeutic massage and mini facial and while the massage and masseus were quite enjoyable , my facial left a little to be desired . First of all to help you guys out In the future , it'd be nice if the facialist washed their hands prior to touching your face as this bothered me right off the bat . Also I left quite dissapointed since I was expecting to receive a hand and arm massage during the setting of the facialmask, as listed on their website , however the lady just left the room to return later again without washing her hands! And although I was minorly burnt by the steamer, the rest of me was freezing the entire time so might want to take that into consideration. Not sure if I will be returning solely for the fact I felt a little bit like an afterthought rather than a valued guest.

Although their massages are really good. I have had now two facials from them - I get facials occasionally from other places as well. I understand it is normal to have breakouts and temporary skin changes after a facial But my last facial Essence Serene my skin is awful. I did not need any extractions just around the base of my nose and had smaller pores. Now my skin is the worst it has ever been, from a clear fore head and side of my nose to entirely covered in black heads and giant pores. There was a bit of mix up on schedules and contacts as well. The over all facial experience it self it self was very relaxing but am disappointed on how ruined my face is.

I had my eyebrows threaded today and i got it from Ms J. I told her to just clean up my brows not touching any shapes. After she showed it to me my sister and i were shocked cause she shaved off all my eyebrow and even left and right eyebrows were not symmetrical at all. My sister, who was beside me, she told Ms J that it looks too thin and its not symmetrical but she said it looks fine to her and she even said i can take off more on the other side.. I and my sister were so disappointed on her service and her skills. I have special occasion coming up and i just don’t know what to do with my brows. I am not going back for eyebrow threading.

Took my mom for a massage as she's been having lots of lower back pain. My mom has gone for many massage treatments but by far it has been the best for her. She was booked with the massage therapist, Maridy, and she greeted her with such smile and made her feel very welcomed. She made sure that my mom was comfortable in every way and checked with her regularly to see if the pressure was good or if she was in pain. The room was super clean and the atmosphere was so cozy and relaxing! We will definitely come back and highly recommend the therapist!!
