I love the saunas, but they really need to buy some new towels. My shower towel was disintegrating around the fringes. They also don't have any body wash in the showers so I had to use shampoo to wash myself after two hours of sweating. If it's meant to be dual purpose shampoo/body wash, that's fine but there are no labels indicating that.

I highly encourage people to visit this place and be fair with any reviews, simply because this place is a boon to my neighbourhood. Literally the owners and their workers took a non-descript old office floor in Burnaby and transformed it into a modern Eastern European type sauna experience. The price is totally reasonable, when you think how quickly you can spend $40 otherwise. 2-3 hours could be a stay here.

Was very impressed by this facility ! My only complaint was the other guests who were talking in all of the saunas which took away from the relaxing aspect. I would recommend telling guests before they go in to please not chat in the saunas because the signs are often missed. Otherwise it was really nice!

This is a great spot to have for relaxation and for some serious girl time. The facilities are large and great for groups. There are a few different saunas and steam rooms and they all have different functions. I wish they had put some instructions all over the place so people know what to do. For example there was these leaves soaked in water that we later found out that we are supposed to tap our partner with inside the sauna.

Wanted to love this place more but it didn't really live up to our expectations. I enjoyed the Russian Banya room, but almost all others were a flop. I love steam rooms but the smell in two of them were unbearable. They really need to be cleaned more often. The towels and robes provided were over worn and in disrepair. Our experience aside, there were a lot of people that seemed to be enjoying the experience. I guess I'm just used to a higher quality sauna/steam room experience - like those in Las Vegas, even a well maintained gym. If the place was cleaner and had a less creepy vibe to parts of the interior it would have made our visit better. Front desk staff were friendly.

Lockers available for personal items, and showers in locker rooms to clean up afterwards. Highly recommend for a day to heal to recharge

The perfect spot to retreat to after a long week of work. Saunas and steam rooms were great. However, I chose to give 3 out of 5 stars as we were disappointed how after the receptionist advised us on arrival, of the spa being a ‘no talking zone’ and to respect other people by talking quietly, how many people ignored this rule. Really did not feel as relaxing an experience as it should have been, due to the full blown conversations people were having while walking about - totally disrespectful of other guests. It would be great if the staff members who were frequently walking about, would address each person who ignored this rule. I think clear signage would also help to remind people. No point having this rule in place if you do not enforce it. Also noticed there are no hair dryers in the changing rooms, so had to go home with wet hair in the freezing cold. I would definitely return as it is a lovely spa but I hope the next time it will be a more pleasant experience.

It is very clean and has interesting design. However, I couldn’t fully enjoy. My favourite Turkish sauna didn’t work at all. Other saunas did not work properly. It was annoying to keep asking staff to make saunas work properly. Non of them was hot enough. By the way it was my husband’s second bad experience!!! Staff is very friendly. I hope they will consider my opinion and make sure that everything is working.

Highly recommend this place. We had an incredible experience! Loved all nine saunas, specially the salt room. I had a delicious chocolate dessert and 'chaga' tea at their healthy food bar as well. Will definitely be back!

I visited the Art of Sauna last week on ladies' night. This facility is beautiful and was there for a few hours grateful that you provide water There have been a lot of improvements. Here are a few more things I would like to see before returning. -. And if you want to have that spa image, you need to hire someone to go around and monitor that. - if you don't want people to talk, you shouldn't put chairs in groups of four in the resting area. Again, LOTS of talking. - You need more signs for the cold water area. People would get water dumped on them and again, scream in shock from the cold. Not great for a spa relaxation area to hear that. -BAN phones. Yes, you can do that. While I was in the resting area, someone was chatting on their cell and receiving messages the whole time! ON your website you need to provide more information regarding Bathing suits Also Robes are not very thin, need to provide more towels better robes. OR suggest people bring there own AS ALL SPA DO PROVIDE TOWELS AND THICK ROBES Front desk employees need to be dressed more professionally wearing a baseball cap and jeans not a wise choice ... Relaxing Music needs to be a little louder to drown out the fan system you have. Beyond that you do have great staff the place is great just needs a little tweaking to make it better So to make it a 4-5 star just a few pointers Will be back

I love coming here. It’s so relaxing and there are lots of Steam/sauna options. The treatments are pretty good as well but it’s hard to get a RMT booking and even more difficult to get a female RMT. The change rooms could use an update or at least a deep cleaning. I also feel chilled in the relaxation lounge and was disappointed they don’t serve tea anymore. Either way I still enjoy coming here to relax.

I had a very disappointing experience even before going in to the spa! I called yesterday and reserved 2 cleopatras and told the receptionist that I’ll call back soon because I had to get back to my friend that I was supposed to get the treatment with! And I called back today to book the reservation and book another treatment for my mom and ask a few questions before going there for the first time! And this rude receptionist telling me that they will call me back soon and I waited for 2.5 hours no body called me back. So I called back and they’re telling me that they booked other people and gave my spots to other people! I’m very disappointed! This is so unprofessional and disrespectful! And your business just lost over $300.

Absolutely lovely wonderful time!! And I didn't even get another service other than the saunas!! I would love to try the other services of massage and facials yet as well.. I would and will recommend to anyone in need of relaxation and sweating detoxification... I loved each sauna I tried but found that I favored the Turkish sauna and eucalyptus sauna most at this time. Wonderful friendly staff and well sanitized and very clean!! Definitely check it out!!

This sauna is the most epic, clean and interesting sauna place I've ever been to. The only thing that threw me off about this place is that they don't have a cold dip cool, but I suppose that could be for hygienic reasons, which is another reason I like this place. There seems to be 8 different saunas from 8 different cultures, each one being it's own journey. It's well worth the price of entry. My dad is visiting from Alberta at the end of September, and I'm definitely taking him here.

Absolutely in love with this place. It's got 8 different saunas from dry to steam rooms and salt rooms. During the week 2 hours of sauna time is only $35 which is super budget friendly compared to other facilities. On the weekend it's $55 for unlimited time. They also have a rest/cafe room for you to get your snack or tea on if you need a break from the heat. This place is so underrated for what it's worth! One of my fave places to go to to relax from the city stress on a budget! The showers provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash most of your basic needs to cleanse off all the dead skin. They hook you up with basic blow dryers and towels too. Just bring yourself and some flip flops and this place will take your stress away.

We went to this place as a larger group of five, and all of us had a great time! We started with the Russian Banya (at the front desk you can buy a traditional "venik" broom used to exfoliate by gently whipping each other.) Right outside every sauna room are a few buckets with cold water one can dump on oneself to cool down and refresh. The Old Wooden and Finnish saunas offer a dry heat experience ~80° to 100° Celsius. The Roman and Eucalyptus steamrooms are technically cooler, but feel more intense as it's moist heat so to speak. The Egyptian Rasoul and the Salt room are great places to chill and relax, catch one's breath. The facility is always clean, and they have fresh towels ready to go upon request. Great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Great place for sauna lovers. Seven different saunas with varying temperatures and showers or buckets of water to cool off with between saunas. There is a nice lounge to relax in and we'll furnished change rooms. We have tried the AOS massage and the raindrop massage both were good and there is a separate lounge for massage services. The place is quiet with soft music playing and clean. 5 ???? easily

I've come here a few times to enjoy the saunas, and a few times for RMT. The RMT massages are okay, but if I didn't have health coverage I probably wouldn't pay full price for one. I find the woman's locker room dusty and a bit worn down...for the price of the treatments, I would expect things to be pristine, or at least no broken mirrors and layers of dust! I also find it kind of off-putting that they don't offer body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Again, with the cost of things, it would be a nice treat for the guests. I gave 4 stars because the experience is super unique and I do love to come here, I just wish the facility matched with the upscale pricing!

Really good spot - I'd give this a 5* review if the building wasn't exploiting pay parking. But other than that, awesome experience. Clean facilities, good safety protocol for COVID-19 restrictions, and really unique and well maintained Sauna, Steam, and Salt rooms. Will definitely come back - I'd totally suggest them to do a monthly "subscription" in which you get a certain amount of visits.

I absolutely loved my experience here with a group of girlfriends. Each sauna room provided a unique experience. I felt thoroughly relaxed and happy afterwards and am looking forward to my next visit already. The front staff was lovely and helpful in providing us with all the information we needed. The place was very clean, including bathrooms and change rooms although I would recommend to provide at least soap for customers to wash with afterwards. The only negative experience I noticed was my girlfriend not having a good experience at her massage due to language and communication difficulties with the therapist.

We booked a time to get RMT and the sauna after. They charged $131 per person for 45 minutes of massage which is very expensive. Front desk people were not friendly! The inside workers were really nice. I asked for slippers, one person wanted to give them to me, but the second person said no, so the first person refused too! I found afterwards that my wife was given slippers. There is a huge fungal infection hazard as slippers are not provided and they don't have a message on the website in regards to this. RMT was a really nice guy, but massage wasn't good at all! I was there for a full body massage, but I only got lower back massage. The saunas are really nice, but not worth the price!!!

Went to the art of sauna for the first time this weekend and i loved it! my favourite rooms were the Eucalyptus aroma steam room and the Himalayan salt room. I would suggest getting a treatment when you visit, it includes two hours at the saunas before your treatment and you get a robe and towel. you just need to make sure to book the saunas separately when u book your treatment. the only thing i would change is to put a timer on the rooms maybe? right now because of Covid they have a limit of how many people can be in a room and time limits in place so everyone can enjoy the facilities. Some of the guests weren't respectful of the time limits so that was a bit annoying, but the facility isn't at fault for that.

Perfect sauna place to come and relax your body and sweat it out. The variety of sauna room is nice, steam rooms smells nice, especially the eucalyptus room. Only thing is the whole place other than the saunas were too cold for just a bathing suit.

EDIT: Went a second time and they definitely way overbooked the saunas. There were at least 10 people waiting around trying to get into any room (they were all full with the 2ppl max per room) for about an hour until it cleared out a bit. Also, some of the rooms had a bad smell, like mildew & sweat. The showers didn’t smell great either and the shower gel dispensers were empty. Original: I’ve been to many spas and have had many massages. I had the Elizabeth package yesterday with my friend, and we both walked out feeling like we were in heaven! The saunas and steam rooms were all great, very hot, clean (except for the aroma steam room which had a very weird, old smell). I saw the staff cleaning handles and touch points often throughout our visit, so we felt safe. For the treatment (body scrub, massage and facial) I had Jasmine. She communicated everything to me in a way that I felt super comfortable, and she was an amazing masseuse. Very detail oriented and made sure I was enjoying it. One of the best massages I’ve ever had. Thank for you an amazing day at the spa, I will 100% be back.

Still a solid sauna, but keeps going downhill compared to what it was when initially opened. To be honest, it feels like my most recent purchase of a combo of multiple visits was a mistake, since I did not know of all the recent-- and looming -- cut-backs at the time of purchase. Gone is the food-and-bev area. Gone are the provided robes and flip-flops. In yesterday's visit, yet anoter "surprise" was to find that there is yet more cut-backs, with the shower gel and shampoo no longer being provided in the change rooms. The lounge area now feels less welcoming, with dim lighting, lack of windows, and the overall cooler temperature in the common areas that makes the lounge uncomfortable for periods longer than a 5-minute cool-down. Compare this to the lounges in e.g. the Scandinave Spa, which feature comfortable rocking chairs, cozy temperatures, and nature scenery. The Finnish sauna's accent lighting has failed and is permanently turned off. The Russian Banya room is now effectively a misnomer, and just another dry sauna room. By definition, the traditional experience entails the users being able to add water to the heaters and control how much steam they need for using the "veniki". This has been recently changed, probably to save on maintenance. Finally, it would be nice to see more clear signage to show quiet vs non-quiet areas. Perhaps more of the rooms could be designated as quiet vs non-quiet? Margins are probably thin, but the trend of chipping away at the common areas in favour of treatments does not resonate with me. I had no problem spending on food and bev when, and it was an easy value-add and an up-sell. I'm not as easily swayed in favour of dropping $$$ on a massage now that virtually 60% of the original facility has been made off-limits to the general clientelle.

My wife and I had booked the Cleopatra for us both but there was a gap in between. I got there 20 min early and the first room i went in was steam. I had read that there would be a bucket of water to wash down the seat and there was a smaller bowl in a stainless steel bowl but when I dipped it in I was scalded as it was above the live steam pipe!. I then saw a large bucket opposite. The other steam room had signs warning of this. I saw that the salt room was free but no blue towels. When an attendant came by he told me they were "closing in 5 min." I went up front and said I was asked to leave but I had not got any of my treatments. She took me to a waiting room where I sat till my appointment time. I had wanted to use the different rooms not sit in a waiting room. I had my Cleopatra and it was great. Thank you for this. After I was dine I waited for my wife to show up. I explained that there were many rooms but we only had time for me to get her to the waiting room before her time. I thought i would try a few rooms till she was done but after getting in to the salt room and closing my eyes, the door opened and a voice said. " closing in 5 min". I went and changed but upon exiting I notice that it was still early and my wife would be another 30 min. I asked at the front what I was supposed to do in the meantime and she just shrugged. I had to rode my motorcycle there and as there was no place to sit I stood outside. That was when i noticed that the spa hours on the door said till 9pm. I went in and said I was not pleased by the misinformation that started 20 min after arriving and got the same blank state and no explanation. Perhaps i should have raised my voice. Maybe then an explanation would be given. But im not comfortable with negative energy. My experience was negative and it could have been so positive. I did not want to rant about it because the actual spa treatment was good. But before and after were not positive. That was how I left the Art of Sauna. Feeling that I would not go back. I will send my wife back as the Cleopatra was like nothing either of us had experienced.

Despite requesting its return AoS have not got back in touch with me as promised and I presume it has been thrown away. I was also promised a 25% bill adjustment which has not come through. Shouldn't have to call to chase this stuff up.

I had the honor to be taken cared of by Tanya today. I got the Cleopatra package and I felt like a queen. The scrubbing pressure was perfect. The yogurt honey body mask left my skin feeling soft. The massage I had at the very end was the cherry on top! Tanya was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. I will definitely go again to be spoiled and be treated like royalty. Needlesstosay, the facility was clean and had a spa-vibe. If you ever need a reboot or a day to leave ur worries behind, to relax this is the place!!! I really needed a me-day and it was all worth it! ❤

Members of the Art of Sauna super friendly and definitely enjoyed striking up conversations with them while my gf was hitting me up with a birch Venik at Banya Russian Sauna HAHA. Their staff member are very friendly and they checked in on million times we felt very welcomed. PS: I also have an exquisite taste in finding stress releasing environments. Art of Sauna is a favorite of mine at the moment.

Both of us enjoyed our experience at Art of Sauna. The staff at front desk were all helpful and friendly. The variety of rooms, cold shower, and relaxing atmosphere all really helped us heal and recover especially during the winter. We brought big bottles of water to make sure we stay hydrated, and it was good to have stations where you can fill up our bottles. Make sure you bring your flip flops, extra masks, and a towel. I am looking forward to trying their traditional Turkish bath next time.

Nice environment and the change room is very clean. I love the different sauna rooms. If you go during the weekday, it's usually not so busy. They have lots of underground parking but you have to use the stairs to go up.

This place is heaven! It's a hidden gem in Burnaby and so beautiful inside. The staff are all so nice and welcoming. I had a Turkish Hamman treatment and it was an amazing experience. The bubbles feel like clouds. Not sure why there are reviews about it being dirty it's super clean. One review talked about leaves in one of the dry saunas but that's because you can buy a broom of leaves and do your own treatment in there so they sweep it periodically and the leaves smell amazing so not sure why anyone would complain about them.

Art of sauna is deft one my favorite places to be in. There eucalyptus room and aroma room is a place to be and the Himalayan salt room is a place to meditate and relax you're mind . Clean and up to date with covid protocols as much as possible. No masks required in the sauna but you need to wear mask up to the changing room. You cant do walk ins nomore so if you want to go in make sure to call in before and make the appointment.

Amazing Hidden Gem! A friend discovered this a few months ago and I think I will be going as often as I can. The sauna only rates are super affordable and the facility is something you would experience on vacation. My wife and I went for our anniversary today and it was her first time and she loved it! During covid I love that they limit the number of people allowed in the facility making it really spacious and easy to use with out concern.

You can't book saunas or massages on their website, it won't let you get into your account...I usually drive all the way from Abbotsford to go here and lately it's just been a bad experience since I can't even book online...I just wish there was better communication and consistency because I love coming here

This was an incredible experience. Having 2 hours pre or post to enjoy the 8 sauna rooms was very relaxing. They supply a robe and shower facilities for you to use before your treatment. It is really well thought out. I had the one hour reflexology afterwards. Steven was very good and used the perfect amount of pressure. I didn't once feel rushed there. They offer tea or water after for you to enjoy in their lounge. I felt like I was in a 5 star resort spa and wealthy for a day. I will definitely be going back.

We booked a sauna online only 13 days prior to our visit, completed the necessary questionnaire and when we came we were denied entry for a reason which is not in the emails and not on the website. We asked a manager Carlos R. to provide an explanation why we were not allowed and he refused to do so. Another manager also said we cannot come in but she would also not provide an explanation as to why.

I looove this place! First of all, all saunas and steam rooms are of a very high quality, it's very well thought through with a good attention to detail. I couple of weeks ago I also had 90 min massage and I highly recommend you to book it after your muscles are warm after saunas. Plus, I really appreciate their stuff and their always friendly attitude and desire to help and make my experience worth coming back. I love it, it always makes me feel genuinely welcome. I went there last Sunday and the interior was beautiful and relaxing. Had a fantastic massage (nothing to complain about there) What I do have a complaint about is when I woke up on Monday with red itchy welts. Went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a skin infection and the doctor was 100% convinced that it was from the sauna. I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt until I talk to the receptionist to let her know - her response was we sanitize once a week!!! It should be sanitized daily if not more often!!!! Art of Sauna never responded to my email about the skin infection... So big warning about this place

I had phoned multiple times to book my appointment. No one answered and no one called back. Left a message on their Instagram ... no response. The saunas are great but the purposely make you book online so you book more expensive packages. They do not let you book online for saunas so when you give someone gift certificates they are unable to book unless they upgrade to a package that is online. This is the same if you buy a package. They gladly take your money but will never allow you to book an appointment. This is not by accident. Absolutely terrible business practices!!! Just phone and try to talk to someone or get a phone call returned!!!

Well, I can honestly say that my experience at Art of Sauna was WONDERFUL! Obviously, the owners read their reviews because all things that were mentioned in the reviews were not an issue. - the place was spotless and clean - the service was impeccable and friendly - they had hung new signage to easily find it - bathrobes are complimentary I highly recommend this business and think it is the most relaxing and affordable spa experience in all of the Lower Mainland. What was disappointing my friend did not get her treatments and was left sitting for 40 minutes. The staff missed some opportunities for new clients to show off the facility. The saunas were good and was quite clean and well maintained. Felt there was a lack of communication and support - as we had planned the day together and only one us got treatments. I did not know as I was already in the treatment room otherwise I would have left too.

This was my first time at Art of Sauna. I called a day in advance to reserve a spot to use the sauna. They offer 2 hour spots at 10, 1, 4 or 7 to allow one hour between for a complete cleaning. They also limit # of guests and # of people in each sauna and steam room. The 2 hours were amazing! Different temperatures and ambience in each of the 8 rooms. Everything was clean and everyone very professional. I highly recommend and will absolutely be back!

This is a great place to come in a rainy day! The various saunas offer a range of hearing experiences from the mild heat of the Himalayan salt sauna with it's walls built entirely it if Himalayan salt, or the also mild Egyptian rasul, to the extreme heat of the Finnish sauna or Russian banya, you we'll be soothingly satisfied! Clean and nice facilities with cold water buckets and nice showers with good quality shampoo and soap. Towels provided but bring your own flip flops to save a couple of bucks.

I visited this place several times, always very clean and stuff is very friendly. Each steam room is different and truly are beautiful! It is a bit expensive and I think a bath robe should be included in a price. Some days is man or woman only, and it's could be difficult to plan a visit for busy people. I never try a food there. I went for a steam not to eat , but I notice it was quite big selection of hot dishes and even desert. we had some tea, and a price was reasonable. Good selection of quality teas . I would recommend this place to my friends or someone who like to try real sauna experience. Overall I enjoy my visit !

I do love this place, but yesterday I noticed that the change rooms were very dirty, like no one has swept them in months.. Hair, dirt, a lot of dust etc.. This is a sauna, it MUST be clean at ALL times. Nonetheless, the saunas are purifying and detoxifying in every way. My favourite is the Turkish, Himalayan and the Aroma!

Severe decline in quality and service .... The first time I came was 2.5 years ago and since every experience is worse.... It's a shame cause the actual saunas and steam rooms are so nice but the service is terrible now. On my last visit just this past Friday, The one attendant kept disrupting everyone in different rooms with rules or whatnot which is fine, but they were literally yelling instead of using a calm voice in a primarily silent voice. Also at one point there was a customer swearing and being very aggressively loud discussing work life in a steam room so a few of us left to notify an attendant, and then the attendant came back to us and told us there was nothing they would do because he is deaf.... I'm sorry but the fact is that if you are deaf and cannot whisper in a primarily silent space you'll have to practice silence? It's not the rest of our issue to have to listen to someone literally screaming in a silent space? We could hear him from the next steam room afterwards ..

Came here for the first time with my best friend for a much needed relaxation day. We spent over 2 hours and went through all the different saunas and steam rooms they had. We loved a few and went back into them one at a time. This place also has instructions written outside all the saunas about how long you should be in for and if you should do an ice bucket. 10/10 would go again.

I was able to recently experience a spa package as a gift for my birthday. I really enjoyed trying out the various sauna rooms they had and especially relaxing in the Himalayan salt room! The best part and I suggest everyone do is try out the massage. I got a massage from Fiona and I have to say it was one of the best massages I have ever gotten...I literally fell asleep (and that’s not my normal... and I get a lot of massages). Anyways the package included access to the saunas, 45 mins full body massage and a facial as well (I can’t remember the time allocated for the facial) but this massage felt like it went on forever (which is obviously a good thing). I will definitely be coming back.

Make sure to go to the website and check out their "Special Deals" and their amenities. It's a beautiful spa but quite pricey unless u have a good extended benefits plan thru work! My Spa Day was a gift for Mother's Day. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience! My masseuse was downright AMAZING! She worked every knot out of my shoulders and believe me, there were plenty. I didn't rate it as a 5 because some of the saunas were closed. One in particular was on our list to enjoy and we were told when we booked it would be open.

Would highly recommend and will be visiting again soon. My only suggestion is that clocks need to be visible so that patrons can see how long they have been sitting in each of the rooms.

The website & staff provided misleading information about Osteopath eligibility when it comes to insurance coverage. The staff told me such services are covered if my benefits allows, which it does. Later to be told that the osteopathy as a whole is not covered by insurance, which is false?? On top of that, I clearly wrote that my injuries & problems were caused by "aerial arts" and "calisthenics". He kept saying that it was due to yoga (I ..which DOES NOT create injuries like mine lol) and there was a language barrier. I left in more pain than previous, esp in my problem area. The experience was not a good one. However, the sauna and spa is great and I've been multiple times! It was unfortunate that I decided to try osteopath this time...

Booking is a massive pain. There is zero communication between the different staff members, and each person tells me a different story. I did a live chat to ask what the policies are around how many people can be in a sauna room at once, because they do not require the vaccine passport and you cannot wear masks inside the sauna. I was told that as of December 1, only one person will be allowed in a sauna room at each time. Great, so I called in to try to book. The person on the phone said there's no limit as to how many people can be in a room at one time, and they usually have 4-6 people in a room, sometimes up to 8. I was confused, I said the live chat person said as of December 1, there's only going to be one person in a room at each time. The person on the phone just kept repeating that the room can fit 4-8 people each time. I went back to the live chat person, and they told me they hadn't communicated the new policy change to all of the staff yet. I asked them to confirm again if I will be alone in the sauna room after December 1, and they said they aren't sure yet. It seems like they haven't nailed down what their policy is, and it's just very confusing all around.

I've been at least 3 times. At $35 for 2-hr access to the sauna and steam rooms it's worth it (though I think it's going up to 40 or 45). There are lots of different options to choose from. If you book your RMT or any service, access to the rooms is included. They used to give out robes if you only booked access to the rooms but now they only do it if you book a treatment, so if you don't want to get too cold in between the rooms bring your extra towel or robe. They will provide you with a towel for the rooms and another one for the shower. Bring flip flops too. Great idea for couples, and a fun and relaxing activity to do with friends or family. Make sure you use the cold water buckets in between to avoid overheating. If you have never bee before, ask for a briefing about how to use the rooms at reception.

Can I just say, wow! I moved out to BC 2 years ago, and my sister from Toronto gave me a gift certificate for this spa. I use to frequent a few back home, but never found one when I moved out west. WOW. That is the only way I can describe my experience. I did a package including body scrub, massage and facial. 100p, 10/10, would recommend to everyone. I don't remember the last time I felt this good.

What can I say? During the midst of this turmoil during the pandemic, a little getaway is much sought after and definitely needed. Our experience with AOF was definitely sub-par. Not due to the aesthetics of the place, but in fact because of the very blatantly unprofessional customer service reps and cleaners ruining the experience for those to enjoy. They are rude, and very inconsiderate. We are paying $42 for our quick '2 hour getaway.' I say quick because we spent half our time waiting outside the saunas because they were overbooked. We felt rushed because of the lineups. The cleaners don't care that you are there to relax, I can assure you of this. If they don't like what you are doing, they will barge into your treatment room, scream at you, and harass you, even if you politely ask them to leave your space. Our encounter with cleaning lady left us with a bitter sour taste in our mouths. We were accused, pointed at, and harassed for something we did not do. In fact, I respectfully asked her to leave us alone because we are there to relax and meditate. She STILL continued to scold us. I politely asked for her name (Rosa) and asked her to please leave me alone and to stop accusing us for something we did not do. Not only 5 minutes later, we had a DESK worker come into the sauna, leave the door open us and SCOLD us more for being rude to the cleaners. My jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it. We were TWICE interrupted, yelled at, belittled, treated with the most unprofessional service ever within a matter of 30 minutes. We felt uncomfortable and on edge because of this and decided we could no longer support a company like this. The customer service reps and cleaners really need to learn how to treat customers. Their behavior was childish, and in fact it left me so disgusted that I will never return. I spoke with the manager and will be reaching out to the owner. They provided an email that doesn't actually belong to the owner, so I managed to get his real email address. We will be reaching out to him. The saunas and atmosphere are beautiful. It's just too bad that child-like customer service reps are running the place.

It was our first time there, and from the moment we arrived my sisters reservation was not booked the time she was told. It kind of put a damper on the experience, she ended up canceling her appt as it was so late from the original booking. They waived her fee to enjoy the spa and gave her a bar of soap as a gift for their mistake. As it was our first time (me and my mother) no one guided us to the facility, and gave us a tour—we had to figure it out on our own. The lady at the counter did show us a photograph of the different spa rooms and benefits (which was nice) but I think my mom and I would have preferred a tour since the place is massive. I did also get lost when trying to get out of the “treatment lounge”. The facilities were amazing, and each room was beautiful. My mom and I both had spa packages booked (facial and massage) and both thoroughly enjoyed our experience with our therapists. Fiona’s energy is wonderful and she is very knowledgeable, I’d highly recommend her.

Great thermal experience and only a few other patrons in the morning. I highly recommend the old sauna steam room that has a first nation's theme. I also liked the aroma steam and Russian Banya and Finnish sauna. The dry salt room was OK. The salt steam room is also well worth visiting. The changing rooms are super clean and there are water stations. Drink more water than you think you need.

Been here a few times now. Have had a couple negative experiences with staff, but Jen at the front desk the other day was very kind! Cleaning crew had done a wonderful job of maintaining cleanliness all throughout the sauna. I'm looking forward to coming back again without the restrictions, but I appreciate that they are implementing the proper guidelines. As soon as you walk in the door, the smell of botanicals brings you right into relaxation. Have not yet tried any, but they have a very nice-looking selection of lotions, scrubs, scents, soaps, etc. for purchase at reasonable prices. Seriously, one of the most beautiful spas I've ever been to. So memorable and fun (all the different sauna rooms are exciting to try). Lovely decor. So relaxing. The bathrooms are well equipped with soap, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryers, lotion. Lockers are safe, large, and have hangers. Prices are a bit higher than usual because of the current limitations/restrictions. But still fair!

We did the 2 hour sauna followed by a foot/leg treatment massage. The saunas were fantastic with something for everyone. 8 rooms creates a unique adventure with something for everyone. We enjoyed some mediation in the salt room and did several rounds of each sauna. The massage was unreal (hands of an angel with a blend of acupressure and relaxation). This was my best combined spa/sauna experience to date. kudos to the owner and his/her Russian influences on the place which are notable. ????❤️???????????? I highly recommend it!! Convenient parking is underneath. Also worth mentioning is the wonderful atmosphere and staff in the spa. The spa is even better with quiet music ???? in the background, pleasant fragrances, and hot tea. They created many moments of bliss it is up to you to find them all. Thanks again, we will be back when we return to Vancouver and New Westminster.

First of I love the actual sauna's: beautiful, spacious etc. The reason I gave 3 stars is because I feel there are a lot of things that could improve the experience a lot. In the woman's change room, there was a lot of hair on the floor. I was in the complex for 3.5 hrs and when returning it was still the same. The sauna's weren't cleaned either. F.e. in Europe when you use a steam room, there's either a hose or a squeegee, so you're not sitting in the previous person's ass sweat. :P The Russian banya had tons of leaves on the floor etc. that nobody removed. What bugged me most though is that a lot of the people were talking very loud and weren't paying attention to others. I felt if there would be more staff keeping an eye on the sauna's (I didn't see anyone there the entire time) to enforce this rule, it would make a big difference. Trying to relax, while people are loudly chatting right next to you is hard. The salt room had a lot of people going in wet and smelled really bad. :S Again, no staff to keep an eye on it. There are other things such as you're not allowed to bring your own shampoo, but the shampoo they have is very harsh for coloured hair. (I saw my colour come off) So overall they have great sauna's but they're lacking the true luxury feel because of policy and lack off cleaning.

There are 9 spas and saunas. My favorite is the blue steam room with eucalyptus oil. You can open the steam room door open to trigger new steam if it seems musky or stale in the room. The cafe is opened during business hours unless the spa is slow. If there are not many customers, they will shut the cafe down early. Someone suggested to start at the cooler ones first than work your way up to the hotter ones afterwards. There is a relaxing spot if you would like to stay somewhere else besides a sauna or spa. I like how the owner has put a lot of detail into the saunas and spas themselves. People who are complaining about the amenities outside of the spa and saunas need to realize that this is a new business so obviously not everything will be perfect right away. There is also complimentary water and glasses but I suggest bringing your own water bottle if you like to drink lots of water like myself.

I feel so lucky to have this amazing place in Burnaby because It has all the variety and top quality saunas without the the 4 hour drive or $$$ price tag. I love the Bayan but their aromatherapy steam room is also amazing. This place is a must for any sauna enthusiasts . They are also Covid compliment and I always feel clean and safe there.

Will not be going back here. During our massage the massager left the room because the “power went off”. It took her close to 10 minutes to come back only to find out that the power wasn’t off, it was the lamp that got unplugged. She replied by saying “this building is really old haha..”. That was time that was cutting into our massage. She continued with my friends massage and ended up finishing before my massage was done. We still had to pay for a full massage even though it wasn’t a full hour. When it came to paying. The extremely rude man working at the front desk rudely asked us how much we want to tip. First off, it’s not up to him how we want to pay or tip. That’s up to us. There was zero apology given to us. When we mentioned the hour massage being cut, he looked at us as if he didn’t know what we were saying and continued to ask how we want to pay. When I called to make a complaint and speak to a manger. I was told that, there were massages after ours so they had to move on to the next customers. I asked to speak to the manger and she just happened to not be there and she will call or email me back by Wednesday. Which didn’t happen. Now when I call back they don’t answer my phone calls. This place is completely unprofessional and a waste. I would not recommend to anyone because of the lack of communication & unprofessionalism.

Rest and Meditation room should be more cozy and inviting. Because of Covid Restrictions, you have to wait your turn to enter Sauna's, and so the relaxation room should be more inviting. Clocks are missing inside the saunas, so you can see how long you are inside. Some Aroma Sauna's didnt have the "aroma".

This place has severely declined in quality and service. As a previous customer, I will NOT be going back, nor will any of my friends or family. I made an appointment over the phone for my partner and I for my birthday. I mentioned that we would be paying using a 10 visit punch card pass and was told it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived, we were demanded to show proof of purchase and a manager (of which there were none on site at the time, apparently) to validate the punch card. None of this was mentioned at the time of booking. I explained that a family member had let me use the punch card as a birthday gift (as stated on their own website, cards can be shared with friends and family) and the employee continued to speak to me in a condescending and accusatory tone. No effort was made to contact a manager regarding the situation and no apology given for the miscommunication between staff. Absolutely horrendous customer service. This place will not be open much longer under this new management, especially if customers are treated with such blatant disrespect.

I have been here a few times in the last 3 years and the sauna rooms are always a great and relaxing experience. I was last here yesterday and I had booked a session via email for a friend and I. I found that there was a lack of communication with the facility asking for my friend's info so I called and left a voicemail but was not contacted back. At check-in, my friend was told she should have confirmed her session the day before but I never received a call back so that caught us off guard a little bit. My friend also noticed yesterday that the showers in the ladies' room smelled a little moldy and I smelled it as well. Other than that, the showers looked pretty clean. Overall, the sauna rooms are always a great experience... will definitely be back.

What an amazing place!! My massage with Serge was phenomenal. Both our massage therapists had layed out water and tea for us to sit and drink after our massages. The steam rooms and saunas are so beautiful and have wonderful scents. The salt room is gorgeous and beyond relaxing. The service was wonderful all around. The place is clean with some nice thoughtful small touches. It's quite the experience.

Came on Saturday night, making reservation prior. By 6 it was not busy, which is nice to try all different rooms. Hot green tea and water are provided, as well as a towel and some sort of robe. Very clean and staff constantly cleans up. They also provide shampoo and gel to shower after. Recommend for once in a while relaxation

No one picks up. when they do your put on hold for very long before anyone talks to you,,, the place seems to have lots of staff turnover as well but I’ve heard from colleagues that the place has gone downhill. This is a great place to relax. I think it's 8 different types of steam or dry heat rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only problem is their online booking is a bit complicated. Other than that it's excellent. I've brought my girlfriend here for a treat and it was very appreciated.

What a great experience my wife and I had! We had a wonderful anniversary at the AOS. It was such a blessing to come to such a relaxing place so close to home! Booking via email and phone was quick, polite and easy. Everything was clean and thoughtful. 2 hours was perfect to try all the sauna/steam rooms. Staff and patrons were all polite. COVID has really destroyed a lot of joy out of life and it was nice to go somewhere that brought us joy, relaxation and precious time together as we are new parents. We will be back with others!

Great place if you're a fan of being hot. Good experience: get into an 80 C Finnish sauna, go drop a bucketfull of cold water over your head, run to a 45 C Roman or Aroma sauna and relax. Rinse / Repeat with the Russian sauna and the other 5 choices you have with cold water dunks in between. Great set-up, friendly people, a bit pricey, but I get that the sauna game isn't very prevalent here in the 604.

Very nice, cleanliness is very good. They keep a good number of maximum patrons, so it has never felt crowded when I have been there. Great assortment of sauna & steam room types, comfortable relaxation area for in-between saunas. My only complaint is the changing areas seemed better before the recent renovation, but maybe they aren't finished yet and I just need to be patient.

Such a nice sauna and spa experience in the Vancouver area! We were basically the only people here (came from 10-12 on a weekday) and it was super nice and clean. Lots of different saunas and steam rooms to choose from, and especially loved the water bucket showers to use when you're needing a cool down :)

This place is amazing. You'll miss it if you're not looking out for the signage from the streets. It's incredibly clean and well decorated. The space is HUGE! They have 8 saunas and it wasn't crowded at all!! I went on a Wednesday around noon. I had the Turkish Bath and it was my first time and it was extremely comfortable, didn't hurt like I thought it might. I had Hengameh and she made me feel comfortable and relaxed. There is one thing I agree with other reviewers is that it should be a "NO TALKING" zone in all the saunas and hallways. Or at least use a whisper. Also, when getting the Turkish Bath, you're laying on a tiled surface, a few extra towels around the knees and heels would be a nice comforting touch. But otherwise, great place to check out to escape the city and your daily stresses.

I have to say i had a very nice and relaxing experience here with a special friend that i went with. Alex (i am not sure if i got his name right) gave me a really great massage. I love getting massages and i am super impressed with how knowledgable and responsive his hands to where the achy parts of my back is. He paid attention and details to every knots and applied the right amount of pressure for a very relaxing experience. Will definitely come back and will gift someone this awesome experience aswell. Very disappointing visit! Worst experience. We booked a Turkish Bath for husband and wife for a weekend evening. It was our first Turkish bath so both of us were very excited. We planned our whole day accordingly. We were coming from Abbotsford which is about 50Kms from Burnaby. First, no one at the front desk properly explained the process and didn’t give proper directions. We changed and went into sauna as advised. After about half an hour a lady came to inform us that the appointment is cancelled. She said, there is an issue with hot water and they are trying to fix for 2 hours. She said, we can wait there for some more time but she doesn’t think they would be able to fix it. As we were already in our swim suits and were already sweating due to sauna, we decided to wait for some more time. She also promised that the girls at the front desk will “do” something to compensate for the inconvenience caused. We waited for another 45 minutes and still there was no hot water in the sauna area. Than we decided to end the agonizing wait and went into shower. The worst didn’t end there, there was no hot water in showers. The water was chilled cold. Our bodies were full of sweat. We had to wipe off the sweat to put on our clothes. On the way out, the front desk girl again was so unprofessional that she didn’t even bothered to offer any apology or anything for the lost day as courtesy. Of the many spa visits we’ve had in our lifetime, this is by far the worst and most unprofessional one ever. The business actually claims in its adverts as “… that our customers deserve the very best.” DON’T FALL FOR IT AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!

The facility is nice, the rooms are great. Why the two stars? It’s hard to enjoy the serenity when everyone is talking. It was so loud and no one was respecting the no talking signs. I have experienced this before here and said I would never go back but went cause it was free for me and a friend assured me it has changed.There is no mention on the website about it being a silent spa, clearly the signs are not working. An employee needs to be back there telling people to shut up.The guests also seemed to be a bit on the trashy side, very disrespectful when politely being asked to be quiet. So ya, I’d rather drive to Whistler and go the Scandinave Spa then go here again. A guest experience consultant needs to be hired.

I was hoping this place would be a great find, unfortunately it was a bad experience from start to finish. Booking: It was very hard to get ahold of this place, I called a couple times with no answer and finally left a voicemail. I was called back the next day and felt bad for the receptionist who was clearly handling multiple calls and putting people on hold as we were on the phone. I was finally able to book 2 45 minutes signature massages with the sauna/steam included. Arrival: Upon arrival my boyfriend and I were running late, I tried to call the Spa to let them know but after 2 missed calls and being on hold for 5 minutes I gave up. The receptionist mentioned our time was going into our massage time, understandable but this was the end of the day with no appointments booked after us. Massage Treatment: I had Steven the registered reflexologist, he was AMAZING. Seriously 5 star massage. He ended up giving me a full 45 minute massage (i think he may have even gone over by 5 minutes or so). My boyfriend's treatment unfortunately sounded like it didn't live up to Steven's. His masseuse did only 30 minutes (yes I understand we were late, but would have been nice if she could have found an extra 10 minutes!). He was waiting for mine to be done for about 15 minutes. Sauna/Steam Rooms: This is where things were really bad and this is what this place is known for!! At least 3 of the steam rooms smelled, a mix between sewage and BO - the black and white tile one you see in photos and a couple of the other ones too. We couldn't even sit in any of them besides the eucalyptus, maybe it was masking the smell. The saunas were nice (no smell) nothing to write home about. COVID procedures: This place is NOT covid friendly. No one in the changerooms or common areas were wearing a mask. My boyfriend and I were wearing masks in between the sauna/steam rooms (each room has a 2 person max) and would take it off when we entered the room. He also mentioned the showers in the mens were out of body soap (its the little things that add up). This place has a lot of potential to have great facilities but unfortunately the customer service mixed with the lack of upkeep not to mention the failure to comply with covid safely just make this completely miss the mark. For $200+ I would hope for more. I will keep to Spa Utopia, as they don't disappoint!

This is located inside a non-descrip building, could use a little more signage outside. The steam rooms and saunas themselves are very nice - I was impressed. When I visited Sparkling Hill, they had some instructions on the outside of each sauna (i.e. recommended time inside), I think that would be a good idea. The greeting process could be improved - despite us letting the receptionist know it was our first time, there was little explanation on the various rooms, it felt a bit rushed. We also had a Groupon and the receptionist grabbed my phone to access the Groupon - probably best to ask to see the Groupon or ask if it's OK to take my phone behind the counter. Be aware that it isn't a quiet space. There was a group there chatting in the lounge and the voice carried over while I was lying inside the Salt Room.

My friend and I went for a deep tissue and Shiatsu massage today it was terrible. I need a massage from that massage. They just lightly press your skin. They do not help with problem areas in fact they make it worse. It was terrible. The saunas are great but their services are over priced for how poorly they are they are a complete waste of valuable time and money.

We loved the sauna and spa, that’s why we went there numerous times. However, the staff at the spa ruined our experience for us yesterday and we would never return, such a shame. When we arrive, the receptionist ( I believe her name was Jen ) was friendly and professional when we checked in. While we were enjoying their wonderful sauna, a cleaning staff ( I believe her name was Rosa ) walked in which was usual because they have to change towel, sanitize etc. However, first thing she said to us was not hi or any sort of greeting. She accused us, gave us an attitude with a question “ did you guys do this ( when she saw the thick bed sheet they used for the salt room was on the floor ) , look at the salt, it’s everywhere! “ we simply informed her those sheets were on the floor when we walked in to that room. We know it’s a tough job to keep that place clean with the amount of guests they have, so we simply told her we didn’t leave those sheets on the floor and could you please let us enjoy the room and not being accused. But she was not having it and kept on going and going. So we asked for her name, we were planning to talk to the receptionist when we leave. 5mins later, we were in a different sauna room, Jen ( the receptionist ) walked in and asked us to be more approachable to their staff. We were speechless and we couldn’t believe that the cleaning staff turned it around because she knew we were going to complain about her behavior after our treatment. Therefore, we were accused for the second time, and we decided to leave right away. It was so unprofessional of her to come to the conclusion and instantly defend their staff without talking to a customer and finding out what really happened. When we were about to leave, the manager came to us at the reception desk, apologized and tried to figure out what happened. The cleaning staff came back out so we could discuss that happened, but she was losing it again and the receptionist had to pull her aside to calm her down. She clearly has to learn what customer service is all about. The manager offered us a free treatment next time or refund the money back to us for the unpleasant experience we had. We didn’t accept any of that because we didn’t complain to try to get a discount out of it and we are not planning to return to this place ever again. This is a place supposed to make people feel relaxed but we left with more stress and frustration with their service after. Great company but they really need to have a standard for their staff in order to provide great customer service. I hope someone is actually reading this review.

This place is such a hidden gem! It is impeccably clean, super friendly staff and the owner is very helpful and kind, plus 8 beautiful saunas. I took my sceptical husband and he loved it as well. It is a MUST if you liven Metro Vancouver or are visiting and love saunas. I have been to saunas around the world and I am so happy to have something so amazing close to home!

Great place. They occasionally have deals on for multiple visits. The saunas are incredible and the ambiance is tranquil. If getting a massage be sure to be clear exactly how much pressure you want or you may be in for a unpleasant time.

Walked in and were greeted by a woman who just could not care less it seemed like. The saunas were great, clean for the most part. Thankful they had buckets to use to rinse the benches after use. The two person limit was ideal during Covid. However, two rooms were closed/out of order, we had to wait some time on other guests, which took away time that we could have used to relax instead. What really made our experience unpleasant was the cleaner or janitor on-site, who was very intrusive and kind of a nuisance. It was our first time here and we were looking around, but this janitor made us feel as though we were doing something wrong. Did not appreciate it! Just having someone walking by constantly, staring, is very awkward for guests who just want a two-hour relaxing break from a hectic life especially during this pandemic. Left the site without anyone saying a word, the lady just sat there seemed like she was just for her pay cheque.

Nobody answers the phone. I was on hold for 8 mins and finally a male with a Spanish accent answered the phone, mumbled something and I asked if it was Art of Sauna..he said “hmm, yes can you please hold on” and put me on hold for another 5+ minutes to which I hung up. That is horrible service, given you must call in to book the saunas.

Absolutely unprofessional. Called a handful of times prior to Christmas to find out what Escents products they carry, as on the Escents website they are listed as a seller of their products. No responses to my voice mails and no response to instagram DM. What a bloody waste of my time that was , how is this place even operating with such poor customer service? Seriously next ill be emailing Escents to advise them to find a better seller of their products one that actually answers the phone.
