If I get a phone call the day of my massage appointment at Sanctuary Day Spa I know exactly who it is- it's a call to cancel my appointment because someone is sick. This has happened 3 times to me this year, with only a "sorry, would you like to reschedule?" One time, sure. Twice? Seems like a lot. But three times?! I get massages from one therapist there, and while they are truly amazing massages she books up weeks in advance and it's really disappointing when most of my appointments made get cancelled the day of. Won't be back after this third cancellation.

Very disappointing the prices are high and I didn't feel like I even had a massage. I was looking forward to my couples massage, it was my first one. The beds were not beside each other like expected, the room was cold. My partner was cold the entire time and so was I. The therapist was massaging really fast and didn't apply much pressure. I had my first experience at Sanctuary Spa in Burlington last week and I was beyond impressed at not only the treatment received (essential facial) but also by the staff and the atmosphere. The spa is an extremely relaxing place before you even get your treatment done. My esthetician was amazing, kind, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I was given a list of items used and a free sample to try as well. Thank you so much for an amazing experience, I will definitely be back :)

I was offered a drink upon walking in, and after my massage as well. It was decorated very nicely and you can tell they care about client experience. My massage was lovely! This is my husbands google account, but I, Laura, went for a massage earlier this week, and no word of a lie, it was the best massage I have ever had, sometimes when I go to Spas I am nervous because I think it will be to fluffy there, but it was amazing, everyone was fantastic, and Abby was the best RMT to date!

I really enjoyed this place! Their atmosphere is wonderful. My husband and I were getting a couples massage and facial. The massage could have been deeper but I really enjoyed the facial. We also had coffee and lunch after which was really great. The salad was quite fresh. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. But you should know it is quite pricey.

Avoid this overpriced waanabe spa run by amateurs. The massage services are a joke. Staff do not read the forms you fill out or heed instructions during the massage. If you're looking for a facial, you can buy your own natural ingredients at any health store for a more natural, gentler facial and skip the marketing spiel at this joint.

Really like the atmosphere, the people and the services available. Having never had a facial, but wanting to try it, I asked which to try. They recommended their basic one to make sure I was okay with it, didn't try to upsell me or push products. I'll definitely go back for another! Also have had a couple of manicures and really appreciate the professionalism of everyone who I've dealt with. The aestheticians introduce themselves, talk with their customers (as much or little as you like) vs gabbing with one another, and all seem to know their services very well. I had my mom in for a manicure as well and they were very polite and not at all condescending, as some places are with seniors. Highly recommend Sanctuary!

I had a gift certificate for a pedicure which was bought 10 months ago. There was no price adjustment etc. It was very easy to do the prescreening for COVID prior to arriving. The spa is spotless with well spaced work areas. The surroundings are bright and beautiful. I had the pleasure to meet Lindsay who gave a great pedicure and managed to juggle her schedule to fit me in for a last minute manicure as well. She did extra nice things like putting my shoes in a bag and getting the keys out of my coat pocket so I wouldn't smudge the nail polish. Your kindness was so special to me Lindsay! Thank you so much!

The atmosphere is really nice however when I was not impressed with my french manicure. I let them know it was for my wedding and it definitly did not wow. Some of the polish did not extend to my nail bed, the lines werent straight. Overpriced for amateur work *reply to owner: unfortunately I will not be returning to your location. On discussion with other individuals, not only was the end results not up to my standards, it turn out the nail artist working with me that day was also not following appropriate hygenic practices. She had completed my pedicure first and then used the same tools (nail file, nail and cuticle cutter, brush) to do my hands. She had not made any attempt to clean them between sessions.

I am giving this spa a 3-5 for my first experience because my relaxation massage was one of the best I have had and she was very professional but what I was very disappointed with is the fact that on your website it's stated that your eyebrow tint is "non-toxic veggie based dye" which I thought would be safe for me to use because I am allergic to regular hair dye... well looks like I am also allergic to this veggie based dye because my eyebrows are burnt and the hairs are falling out and I have blisters and puffy face and eyes .. thankgod I wasn't getting married or excepting and academy award because it's hideous and painful ... ????

As a certified esthetician, I have a strong knowledge of quality of service int he esthetics industry. Today I had the best Brazilian bikini wax I have ever had. After more than a decade and literally dozens of spas and estheticians, Sanctuary Day Spa in Burlington has a jewel on staff. Sasha provided me with the most comfortable Brazilian wax and by far, the best in regards of hair removal. Her skill and professional demeanor is a testament to her dedication to her work. I now make special trips from my home in Oshawa, and hour and half away from Burlington, to have Sasha wax my nether regions. She is by far, the best at this delicate service, bar none.

Mixed review today... had an amazing massage with Abby. Highly recommend her! Booked a Registered Massage so I could get a receipt for my insurance company. When I went to pay I was told I couldn't get a receipt so can't claim it. I never would have booked the massage if they had been honest about the limitations on their receipts. Won't be returning.

I asked my husband for a gift card to a spa for christmas as I have a couple blemishes, black/white heads and tired spots on my face. This was my first facial and I have to say - a waste of hard earned money. Yeah, a bunch of creams and a mask were put on my face, big deal. I could have done the same thing at home with the products I own. I always thought that a facial would help to clear up your skin and that they removed black/white heads. I never even noticed a slight difference in the quality of my skin. I'm so upset at how a company can get away with putting their product on your face then go on about how you should buy it all. I basically paid $110 for a "Product Sales Demonstration"!!! I heard The Bay or Body Shop does that for free...

Very disappointed. I booked a couples pedicure for myself and my boyfriend for his birthday. I decided on Sanctuary Day Spa due to their specialties in prenatal massages because I am 4 months pregnant and was interested in trying them out before I booked a massage. Prices were much higher than I wanted to spend but figured it was worth it. I filled out their form online for an appointment and specified my pregnancy as well as my partners birthday. I received a prompt email response from Lindsay stating the time slot they had for me and I responded immediately. Upon arrival on the day I was informed they didn't have my booking. Because I never received a confirmation call they did not book my appointment. When I asked why they would then communicate through email in the first place instead of calling me right away, I was told they receive a lot of emails and it just gets missed sometimes. I felt completely disregarded and ignored, basically they gave my spot to someone else and ignored my response. They couldn't take me that day at all until later that night. I refused the new time slot and left as we had plans all day for his birthday. We ended up going to a smaller place around the corner and had a great experience. Very disappointed with their customer service and will not recommend to my friends.

The 1 star is for the clean environment but that's about it. To the staff directly because I know that you read this, please do not under estimate people because you have no idea that I am a business manager therefore I will observe everything from how I am greeted and treated to the services. I was extremely disappointed that I got [what seemed like] an inexperienced, unprofessional young lady to do my massage. I don't remember her name but she had brunette hair and during my massage she did not put a lot of pressure into it, neither did she care to ask if I was okay with the pressure. It gets worse from here. I was more upset at the fact that when this was brought up to the front desk instead of apologizing and owning up to their faults, taking into consideration that constructive criticism is a good way to improve your business they made excuses for the worker. Seems as though this business does not want to own up to their mistakes, nor progress and improve based on the poor response to another constructive review above. Last but not least, their friendliness seems more fake than genuine [in my opinion] I can read off of people's vibe well, and based on the half ass service provided to me, this is how I can tell whether they are genuine or not. My other girlfriends who visited this spa in the past were also very disappointed for the same reasons noted above. I am surprised that they even got some good reviews to be honest, perhaps they are prejudice and are only nice to people that they "want to be nice to" rather than treating all customers equally. Or maybe those people who wrote nice things are just their friends who wanted to help boost the rating. They do not deserve the 4 stars that they received. Once again as a business manager I would never treat any of my customers this way and am extremely disappointed on so many levels, on how they handle constructive criticism and the half ass job that they provide. I will never ever spend my hard earned money at this spa again.

We planned a day at the spa with friends and what we received was terrible manicures performed by inexperienced students. They did not even remove your cuticles. There is no drying stations at this facility in Burlington they kept telling us none of the Sanctuary's have one. (Crap). We had to leave and couldn't stay an extra hour to dry our nails. Eventually we all chipped our nails. The manicurist who did my nails couldn't even see while trying to do whatever it is she was trying to do. No lamp at the nail station. Listen Manager step it up and buy a drying station and lights. Hire professionals that specialize in each of the services. Facial was another let down. They use a massage table to do the facial and the cushion covering the hole on the massage table kept falling on the floor. The so called facial expert did not know how to do facials was so obvious when comparing with other Sanctuary Spa (Vaughan) or others we all attended. My hair was so greasy from the facial they did not wrap my hair. I'm not confident the products used was worth the money paid. Amateurs working in the Spa that's for sure. I feel very bad for my friends who I insisted to go to Sanctuary in Burlington. We will never go there or recommend this place to anyone. To the manager - step it up and give your customers what we pay for,

First ever spa/facial experience, and I loved it, I was offered a drink, I sat in the lounge, Kristi was extremely professional and personable, she explained the steps she was taking, made sure to ask me if extractions were ok, and answered all of my questions expertly! I started going to Sanctuary once every couple months in 2018. I had different RMTs every time and the massages were always great. However I have officially become a regular of Stephanie’s. I now go every other Thursday morning to see her and she keeps me feeling relaxed and stress free every time. She has become part of my weekly routine, and I would never hesitate to recommend her to other clients. If you get a chance to go in during the day, you will not be disappointment. I've been going to Sanctuary for years. The staff are professional, courteous and friendly from start to finish. I typically request Kirsti. She is quite knowledgeable and you always leave feeling well pampered and relaxed. I highly recommend this spa for manicures, pedicures, facials, and massages. Just a few of the treatments I've had over the years. They have an array of services customized for men and it's not too girly guys; very relaxed and definitely worth it. You won't be disappointed. Sancturary has been my go to spa for probably 15 years now. The Oakville location closed so I started going to the Burlington one. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at either location. All the ladies are super sweet funny and compassionate and exceptionally good at their jobs. I take my Mum and my daughter with me sometimes and we have the absolute best day. There seems to be a camaraderie between the ladies and a huge mutual respect which provides a very enjoyable, easy and comfortable atmosphere. I will never go anywhere else. Highly recommend!

I have now visited Sanctuary Spa (Burlington Location) multiple times and have never had a bad experience. Complete professionalism from every staff member I have interacted with (booking, greeting and services). I have had many services including massage, facial, waxing, mani/pedis and have found each esthetician is respectful, talented, professional, easy to talk to and warm. I plan to continue to visit and recommend this location to friends and family who have also, upon my recommendation, shared in my glowing review.
