Had a bad experience here due to poor time management. Booked a week in advance I looked forward to this appointment, they knew full well I was getting balayage. I have to book a sitter for my baby and be back to feed him in time which the stylist knew. As I was already on the road to my appointment I get a call that she’s running 20-30 minutes behind. So I stopped at a store and when I got there she was still working on her previous client. Was then told she still had to put colour on her clients hair half an hour after my appointment. I drove 45 minutes out of my way specifically for this salon which is considered the best. I was then told to get partial hair done instead of the full to make up the time missed. Which is unacceptable when it’s their poor time management. I of course could not wait for whenever the stylist was to finish with her client since it seemed to be another hour or so until I would be seen. So I then drove 45 minutes back home because I have a baby and can’t afford the time to sit at the salon waiting. Unfortunate because the stylist is a nice person and does do a good job. I won’t be going back.

I’ve been going to Debbie for years and I absolutely adore her and the spa overall! I’ve gotten my hair done there for years and recently I got a pedicure there and I have never been let down! I would recommend this place to everyone! Especially if you’re looking for a funky haircut!! Their stylist Debbie is absolutely amazing and unbelievably talented!!!! ❤️

Booked my appointment for a Thursday evening just hours before and had no issues getting in! I got a classic lash extension set where time flew by and I didn’t feel a thing! Lucy’s professionalism is on point. My lashes feel so natural and I had no reactions (I have sensitive eyes) I also got the BioGel Set, ombré air brushed tips with 2 stones! Again the time flew, she helped me find the perfect nude - another steal! All the services took only around 1.5 hours and only cost $120 before tax & tip! Bonus, they have a loyalty card! I have NEVER had a hairstylist better than Debbie! She gave me a haircut that I can manage(because I can’t manage anything but a hair straightener lol) and that looks amazing! I even cried once I seen the end result!! She is so sweet and makes you feel so comfortable and totally worth the wait, when you find someone who is a great as she is then you don’t mind the wait. She gave me lots of tips that I can use for the future. I TOTALLY recommend her. If you go here ask for Debbie!! You won’t regret it.

By far the only place I go to get my nails done. They are to this day the best, friendly women and most professional people you will ever encounter. The salon itself is perfectly relaxing, very clean and modern looking, the women working here are kind and really like to pay attention to detail. The wonderful women at Esthetic Retreat Beauty Spa & Nails were able to fit my friend and I in last minute on a Saturday. All staff were very friendly and professional which I personally enjoy when I get my nails done as it adds for a comforting environment. My friend and I both loved the pedicure we received. Each staff member took their time and were very thorough. The manicure was also wonderful and very well done! Last year I purchased and used a Dealfind to use at Bazak. This week, my friend gave me a gift - a certificate for a manicure/pedicure at Bazak. My friend made my appointment, gave them my name, and I showed up at the salon. They wouldn't accept the coupon as I had used a previous Dealfind (of my own) in the past. I showed the manager the coupon which stated "Buy up to 1 voucher for yourself and unlimited as gifts. Limit 1 voucher for personal use." I pointed out that THEIR coupon says unlimited as gifts, she gave me this as a gift! I suggested that it should have read "unlimited as gifts for use as first time customers." I also explained that I scheduled an appointment a week in advance (very difficult to schedule and evening appointment), I left work 1 hour early to fit into their schedule and the manager says "Well now I cannot pay the esthetician." I said you certainly can by accepting this coupon (which is already money in your bank), plus I would be TIPPING your esthetician! I told her that I was unhappy with how I was treated, she made no effort to negotiate or come up with some mutually satisfactory solution. I also mentioned that this was evidence as to why on both occasions their salon was empty!!! And that I would ensure that my friends never came here and that I would spread the word about how poorly I was treated. Not a good impression. She said I should contact Dealfind to get my money back and that she wasn't happy with how Dealfind worded their voucher. She washed her hands of it completely. I was very dissatisfied with the customer service (or lack thereof) at this salon. And I recommend that you seek services elsewhere.

This was my first time to Hair and Spa Retreat. Lynn cut and coloured my hair and I couldn't be happier. Best haircut I have ever had!!! I walked out feeling 10 years younger. The salon is very clean and the staff are professional. I would highly recommend. I wish I could give more than 5 stars

I went in to inquire about how much they would charge me to just get my hair curled for a wedding. The receptionist asked one of the stylists, and they quoted me approximately $45, I was ok with this so I booked an appointment. The day of my appointment I washed my hair thinking it would be easier to style...I usually don’t get my hair done so I just assumed. The stylist was nice, she did make conversation with me and I told her what I was looking to have done. She started doing my hair and it came up in our conversation that I had washed it beforehand as I also have a bad neck and don’t like those sinks they use as it hurts to put my head back for that amount of time. She kinda made me feel bad for washing my hair and kept saying how I had very thick hair and it would take a little more time to curl it. I apologized and let her finish as I needed to go get ready for the wedding. When I went to pay it came to $60... I was upset that I was quoted a different price and would still have to leave a tip. So, with tip included it cost me $70 just to get my hair curled!!! When I got home my mother in law had to use my hair straightener to curl the back of my head as the stylist did not even do that. Overall I would not go back to receive any more services again

Just left here from my first and last visit. I live next door and I figured I would try out the spa for a “luxury paraffin pedicure”. The spa menu says it includes a massage, hot stone massage and paraffin treatment along with the regular aspects of a pedicure. When I walked in I was surprised with how big and beautiful the place looked. I was excited for my pedicure. When the lady took me to my chair I was immediately looking for how they sterile the tools... I am a certified medical aesthetician by trade so I do this with every spa. I couldn’t see any sterilization tools in sight but I gave the benefit of the doubt and continued with the service. The woman doing my pedicure had a cough and was coughing on my feet - DIRECTLY on my feet and on the tools she was using - the entire pedicure. She was not wearing a mask. My feet are not rough and only needed an exfoliating scrub but the woman thought she should use what I like to call the “cheese grader tool”. Needless to say this made the bottoms of both my feet very pink, raw and sore. Then came the massage ... I was looking forward to this the most. I think it lasted 30 seconds... MAYBE. I’d say anywhere from 20-30 seconds. This includes the “hot stone massage” which was maybe 10 seconds (not exaggerating). After this was the paraffin... for those who don’t know, paraffin is a melted moisturizing wax that is placed on your feet like a mask. The woman poured the paraffin into the applicator bag and directly onto my feet. There was no “cooling” time. And with my feet already being pink and raw... as soon as my foot hit the bag I knew I would be burned. I kept telling the woman “it’s too hot, it’s too hot”... but she insisted this was how the wax was supposed to be. ... I know these treatments, that is NOT how the wax is supposed to be. I sat for maybe 5 minutes with the paraffin on my feet before she began to remove it. Of course the wax didn’t come off properly because it was not cooled enough before application and it was not left on long enough during treatment. So I have flakes of paraffin on my ankles and feet. ... then came the polish. As I sat there with my pink burned feet, I figured ok maybe the polish will be done properly. Nope. She applied 3 thick layers of the white colour I chose... THREE. My toes look like they have children’s play glue shellacked onto them. And it ran into my cuticles because it was applied too thick. Needles to say I have already removed it when I walked through the door of my home and re-painted them myself. Then came my time to pay... the debit machine was out of paper. So the gentleman at the reception desk asked if I needed a receipt but I did not. So he gave me the terminal. The terminal wouldn’t process my transaction because there was no paper.. so I handed it back to him and explained it was asking for paper and he said “it’s ok, but the payment went through right?”... it took everything inside me to not say yes. With such a horrible experience I was ready to not pay and just leave. But I couldn’t do that... so I said no it didn’t go through yet. I waited for him to check the back for more paper. No paper. So I stood and waited for him to go out and get more paper or else I was not able to pay. When he returned I paid for my treatment and limped my way home. I am so disappointed in my experience... I was really hoping this place would be great because it is advertised as a “spa retreat”. Having worked at many leading day spas and medi spas, I have seen and performed these types of services many times. I understand things happen and I understand sometimes staff have a bad day. But this entire experience was not good. When I walked in I found it strange that the place was completely dead for an early Saturday afternoon... but now I know why. Unsanitary, unprofessional and severe lack of staff training. The 1 star rating is solely for the “look” of the spa itself. I will not be back.
