Amatista Spa is a spa on its way to being something that could become quite nice. They’ve had to open during a pandemic, so I’m sure it hasn’t quite planned out to be how they had anticipated. The walls are pretty bare in the main lounge area, and everything seemed a bit like it wasn’t totally ready to go, but was on its way to being something nice in the future. We went for a couples massage for our anniversary and we left underwhelmed compared to what the experience and atmosphere was like at the previous Santé spa. The massage itself was a bit more like a relaxation back rub than a massage. Very friendly spa staff, but everything seemed like it was a junior spa experience for a well established spa price. Nearly $400.00 and we both felt like we were trying to be positive and grateful for the experience, but keep coming back to the feeling that the value for money just wasn’t there, and it wasn’t quite the special celebration we had hoped for. The previous spa just left big shoes to fill I guess!

I would give the masseuse Scott 10 stars if I could! He was absolutely amazing!!! However; the low rating is for the Spa itself, they gave poor communication about the amenities (jacuzzi)which are apparently not an option unless you book ahead - we were unaware of this and not one person said anything to us when booking! I was very disappointed that they let groups of people yell in the hallway(not relaxing).. other spas I’ve been to request people be quiet in the massage area, but not here I guess. Just poor communication and a disappointing experience other then the massage it’s self.

What a relaxing experience! Even during COVID, I felt safe and well taken care of. The renovations and new equipment are top notch. One of the best pedicures I have ever had. I can't wait to go back.

Don't come here! Go to a regular RMT for a better experience at half the price ???? They recently reopened and are clearly not ready. The staff member who booked me in was flustered and never gave me an exact time for my booking or an email confirmation, so I called back the next day and was told I wasn't able to change my booking because they needed 24hr notice. There was no room for movement even though I was calling 22 hours ahead of my "appointment" when I was never told about this policy and never even told what time my appointment was. We booked two back-to-back RMT sessions because they only had one RMT, recently hired. The RMT was lovely, but had just graduated from training. The staff member I originally spoke to sold me this serene experience of a serenity pool and tranquility lounge that we could wait in while we had our back-to-back appointments (because they only had one RMT on staff). When we arrived, we went to the pool, which was green and looked like someone's front yard garden feature. The "tranquility room" looked like the waiting room of a dental office, offering room temperature bottled water as the only beverage. The steam room and sauna were closed due to COVID and the showers were worst than university dorm room showers. Half of these were closed due to COVID as well, but staff hadn't even refilled the soap dispensers on the ones that were open, which made me believe they hadn't been cleaned recently. Absolutely ZERO amenities. It is just a very expensive RMT appointment.

Wow. Brand new. Super clean and good quality treatments during COVID and the experience was excellent. Felt very safe and came out very relaxed. Big thumbs up!

Booked a couple's relaxation massage for my anniversary. The new decor is gorgeous and we enjoyed the serenity pool and lounge before our treatment very much. They didn't have tea or anything in the lounge like spas normally do, probably due to COVID, but that would have been nice. They only had bottled water. A few mins in to our massage the massage therapist said they were putting cryogel on me for relaxation (didn't explain what it was) and it ended up being like a fancy rub A535, absolutely heated my back to the point of sweating then cooled me down SO much I was freezing for the rest of the massage and until after I left. It tingled intensely and ruined the massage for me, not relaxing at all. I kept thinking it would wear off soon and it didnt. An inappropriate treatment for a relaxation massage in my opinion. I probably could have fallen asleep if it wasn't for that product. Was disappointed in that experience as it was quite a pricey massage. Properly explain what the product is/give people the choice to have it or not please.

My partner and I went for a couples massage and it was such an amazing experience. The spa is spotless and so many thoughtful touches really left us wanting for nothing. Staff were knowledgeable and kind. We will be back for another visit again for sure!

He was extremely professional, and I am looking forward to going back to see him again soon. Highly recommend Amatista, and the gentleman that was my therapist today.

This was my first time getting a treatment at the NEW spa. I have to say...I was MORE than impressed with the treatment choice (recommended by Jackie), the products used and the HIGH end quality experience that was provided to me by Stephanie (my spa technician - is that what they're called? forgive me!). JUST WOW! I have mild rosacea and the products she recommended really calmed my skin...I highly encourage you to splurge on yourself and get the 90 min Amethyst Facial Journey. I have zero regrets and I look very much forward to booking my next one! THANK YOU!

Had a massage in November 2020 when I moved to Bear Mountain and was thrilled to have the convenience of a Spa so close by! The massage therapist was amazing. She was experienced, knowledgeable and was one of those practitioners gifted with intuition and ability for healing touch. I couldn’t wait to go back. Sadly I booked again in January and learned that massage therapist no longer either there. I proceeded with my appointment and was optimistic that it would be a positive experience. I was overwhelmingly disappointed. The treatment was terrible. The therapists hands were cold, clumsy and actually hurt on some “moves” that she did. There was a lot of swiping, pinching and just grabbing. No essential oils used even tho I booked to pay for that “extra”. I’ve had a lot of massages over 40 yrs and this was one of the worst. One where you wait for it to be over and then you still need a massage cause this was so bad. I did give feedback to the spa manager upon leaving. She did not charge me for the session and promised me that she would contact me in a few days to rebook me with someone whom would be a better fit. That was over almost 3 weeks ago and I’ve not been contacted. So I’m left feeling that I am the issue and not their therapist. :( Too bad as we live so close and we’re hoping to patronize the Spa frequently for not only ourselves but for family and friends. I have emailed for follow up and no one has answered that or called.

I had 3 sessions booked. When asked about some skin history one of the services would not have been in my best interest at the moment. The professionalism was impressive that they didn't charge me for the prebooked service because I as a client I was their first concern. They created space for me between services so I could enjoy a longer lunch. Honestly, as someone who has been in what would be considered award ranking spas around the world, my experience here was better than some I have previously experienced. Kaylee is a wonderful esthetician. Thank you for helping to create a incredible vacation.

Amazing renovation of what was the Sante Spa, Amatista Spa was modern, clean, luxurious and an incredible experience. Able to book time in the serenity pool ahead of our appt. as no other amenities are currently open doe to covid. Highly recommend the 60 min massage with jade stones. Very good service.

I just experienced the most impactful massage of my life. I got the Tailored Massage with Kier, and he was so warm, knowledgeable, skilled, and truly dedicated to helping eradicate my chronic neck and shoulder pain. He immediately knew why I was experiencing the pain, and he eased both the symptoms and the cause in a way I've never had a masseuse do. I feel confident that I am finally on a path to living without this chronic pain. As I left, I booked another appointment with him the following week, which is something I've never done. He is worth every penny! Oh yah and the ambiance and quality of the overall spa is also top notch! You can't go wrong :).

Our group had a fabulous experience at this spa. I personally had two services booked, a massage with Rachel that was fantastic! It was much more than your run-of-the-mill relaxation massage, she paid extra attention to my problem areas and I feel awesome ! My massage was followed by a facial with Kaylee. Kaylee gave recommendations for other treatments that I can do to help my trouble skin and the treatment was so relaxing. The rest of the group was also very happy with their services, the spa is beautiful and I can’t wait to come back again.

My husband booked a surprise pedicure for myself and our daughter. I couldn’t have been happier as I heard wonderful things about this spa. Well my expectations were more than exceeded ( if that’s possible). I think this was one of the first times, in 10 months, where I was able to relax and feel like things were normal. This was mostly due in part to the safety protocols that are in place. The other part that helped was the lovely ladies we encountered in our spa experience. My favourite spa on Vancouver Island - hands down!! The new renovations are absolutely gorgeous and the space feels very tranquil and relaxing. I really appreciate the high level of sanitation (this spa uses an autoclave and other hospital grade cleaning supplies to sanitize their tools and work spaces!) and strict covid-19 protocols in place by Westin and the spa- I absolutely felt safe when on the property. I also love the new product line additions- highly recommend booking in for one of their facials- the Hydra Violet and Microdermabrasion facials are my favourite! Make sure you bring your bathing suit so you can take advantage of the mineral pool and the views.

I had such a great experience at Amatista Spa last Saturday. I enjoyed an amazing pedicure by Tina :) She was super professional during the entire service, took her time which I always appreciate, we had a great conversation and she all around just made me feel super comfortable especially with Covid-19 still going on. The spa is gorgeous and is 1000% taking the proper precautions to provide a very clean and safe environment for their staff and their guests. I would absolutely recommend Amatista Spa and Tina any day of the week. Thank you Tina! My toes are perfect and my feet feel amazing :)

Majority of the experience was good. However, there were a few things that left us a little disappointed. To start, the quality of the showers in the change room. It seemed that the change room was new and very nicely decorated, however the showers did not match. The water pressure was very low, the curtains did not fully cover the opening, there was nowhere private near by to change, there was not a place to put things to stay dry (e.g. my towel) that was close to the shower for when I was ready to get out. Also, the signage was off of the dispensers that I assumed contained the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, so I was unsure which was which. We were also a little disappointed in the relaxation pool that was mentioned on the phone upon booking as an "infinity relaxation pool" During covid it is required to book a time and I believe 4 guests are allowed in at one time. Upon arrival for our time, two other guests were in the pool. However, the pool was very tiny. Fortunately, the other guests were getting ready to leave shortly after we arrived. We went in the pool and I would not have felt comfortable being in there with two other people, as it was very, very small. Due to the size, I do not think it can be considered a pool. It was also very hot. I assumed it would be warm, but it was like a hot tub. I would compare the experience to being in a hot tub and we were disappointed as we thought it would be more of an actual pool. On the website there is a picture and it says jacuzzi. However, we assumed there would be a separate pool based on the explanation on the phone. We could only find the jacuzzi pictured, unless we missed something when looking for the pool. For a spa with expensive services, I would expect more from the amenities. In terms of the services that we received, my boyfriend really enjoyed his massage and was provided with a service that really worked out the areas that needed attention. However, my masseuse was very nice, but was not targeting the specified areas that we discussed or where she could feel tension throughout the treatment. When asked how the pressure was, I informed her that it was too light and asked if she could apply more pressure. However, it did not change throughout the massage. The service I received was definitely relaxing, I was just expecting more.
