When I called to make an appt for a style and color, I explained my chronic pain and injury issues to make sure that someone would be able to work with me. I was assured that Josie was qualified and able to do my hair. When I arrived a few minutes before my scheduled appt, Josie was still working with a client and then cleaned up after that client (20 minutes after I arrived) which is not uncommon and understandable.
I told Josie I wanted my hair brought back up to shoulder length, with a subtle layering and my face framed. We talked about what I had done in the past and the colors I had used...generally medium brown. Josie said that she would use a lighter brown for a warmer look. I agreed.
After applying the color and waiting for around 45 mins (I had a lot of grey to cover) I did have to get up and stretch during this time due to pain, which was expected.
I had mentioned that I would likely have to have my hair washed while standing up and bending forward into the sink. When I saw the sinks, I thought I might be able to do it sitting down, so I told Josie that I'd like to try but she would to lift my head up. it turn very little time with my neck on that rim of the basin before realizing it wouldn't work and I had to be lifted out. When I told her she'd have to lift me out NOW, she barely touched me and I was starting to panic and said again, just pull me out now, but she didn't so I had to force myself out which hurt like H. She washed my hair with me bending over the sink. she said this was the first time washing anyone's hair this way since she did her mother's.
I was in a lot of pain and chatting with Josie to take my mind off of it while she cut my hair. I didn't really notice the length at that time. While it was still wet, she applied product on my hair, so I asked what it was. The first was something to protect my hair from the heat of the blow dryer, the second was a "thin" mousse for hold and I quote "you won't even know you have product in your hair"
Once she was finished, and I had a chance to check my hair, all I could see was dark. She asked what I thought and I told her that it's longer than I expected ( 2 to 3 inches longer than I asked for) She said "I wanted to err on the side of caution" She told me she wanted me to be happy and I said i didn't want her to be there all day working on my hair. I was in great discomfort at this point and just wanted to get home, but I got her to even out the sides where she "framed" my face. And I definitely knew I had product on my hair, it felt horrible up to the time I washed it. I was always told that you should wait 2-3 days before washing your hair after a color.
My hair was done Sat afternoon, I washed it Tues morning and called the Salon Wed twice to leave message asking for Josie to call me. I wanted to ask her how much it would cost me to come in and have her take that extra length that I wanted off my hair. She has never called me back, so now I have to pay another stylist to fix my hair....no matter what I do to it, the back flips up and looks ridiculous.(because of the layering)
If Josie had just called me back, and showed some professionalism, I was willing to pay her for the fix, even though I shouldn't have to. I feel let down, disappointed, and ripped off.
I won't ever go back to Vigi .
