I am very particular about my hair. I highly recommend this salon. They understand and ask you questions on what you want to do with your hair. My hair was black with some medium brown as well as a light brown roots growing in. They told me that I could go extremely light but I would take some damage and need to Trim my hair a bit, or I could lighten it several shades and take out the black without compromising hair length. I told them I didn’t want to compromise hair length and that my hair health was the most important. They used olaplex and it absolutely got all of the black out of my hair which was over processed, down to a softer shade of brown, without frying or damaging or cutting any of my hair. They also made my hair all one tone, when it was three different shades when I came in.I got my hair lightened and coloured I was only there for about an hour and a half and only Cost me $250. I plan to go back into months to have my hair lightened a couple more shades.

Let me begin by saying I've been going to a student hair cutting school to get my hair cut for the last 15 years. So I do know a good cut but I'm not anal about it. I have moved to the area so I figured I'd try this place. I asked for sides to be cut with sizzors she argue with me saying what doesn't matter. I mentioned the instructor from the school said it would lessen the hair sticking up and it would grow in better. She wasn't having it so I said ok do it your way. At the end the hair did stick up and she had to try to fix it. She was finishing and had to remind her about product. Sides didn't match top so she had to redo that also. Did I mention water running down my back when she was washing it. Bottom line this was in line with the worst experience in 15 years I had with a student not mentioning she was a "professional ". She had no idea of properly blending top and sides no idea how to wash hair no idea on what looks good at the end I. E proportions..she just wanted it done..and I had to pay 30 $! Student cut was 23$ in Toronto and a 10 out of 10. I don't fault her she is in a business with no quality control she is just doing what the standards are. Below student standard....good luck with that in a customer service business.

I have not had a good haircut in years, but this experience was BRILLIANT! Amber gave me exactly what I wanted, best cut EVER! it's an hour drive for me, but I am a permanent customer now.

They do eyebrows really well, although when I went in for a dye, instead of dying my hair solid turquoise, they dyed it royal blue with black roots. 300 dollar to get it done, and then 200 dollars to get it fixed once the roots started to grow out. Not only this but I've noticed their manicures chip pretty easily after the first day.

Went in for an eye brow waxing and a pedicure, waxing looks so much better. Also bruised my heel before my pedicure, I told Terra and she did avoid the area and asked many time if anything bothered me. Lovely job. They also have done a great job adding saftey measures.

I went in for a laser hair removal consultation. After filling out some forms with questions about my medical background, I was asked what colour my hair is and what my ethnic background is. While the woman, Jen, was writing down my answers, she paused when I said ‘I’m afghan’ as if she didn’t even know how to spell it. I told her, other spas I’ve been to asked me many other questions, like the colour of my parents skin, and their eyes, etc. She said ‘I just know, because you said afghan.’ Not sure how that even made sense since we afghans range from blonde hair and blue eyes to black hair and black eyes but okay. I was dismissed and was told that she had to speak to a ‘the doctor’ to confirm whether their machine could be used on my skin. I assumed she needed time to google what ‘afghan’ meant. I myself have worked in medical spas most of my life and am aware of the fact that there aren’t any doctors standing by for consultations. Lol. She called me, eventually, to tell me that their machine couldn’t be used on me as I would’ve needed level 5. Whatever that meant. Over all, Jen, was very passive aggressive and RACIST. I decided probably as soon as I realized I was lied to over the phone about pricing, that I wasn’t going to waste my money on this place, but left telling Jen I would think about it. I suggest that these people who work here and present themselves as professionals, educate themselves first. If I wasn’t taught better, I would’ve humiliated her right there and then. I don’t recommend this place at all.

I went on a recommendation from my sister-in-law who is friends with an employee. I have very fine, very straight hair and have had a lot of disappointing hair cuts. I was overwhelmed when I got there, but Emma put me at ease right away. We talked about what cut would suit me best and she understood immediately the difficulty I have with my hair. She talked me thru the hair cut and showed how to style it and what products would be beneficial. I can follow exactly what she did at the salon at home and I am extremely happy with the results. Emma is who I will always go to now to get my hair cut. She was amazing!

Had a manicure done, cost $43 dollars just for a paint (no shellac or fake nails) and the paint literally pealed off and chipped off a total of 4 of my nails within 2 hours after getting them done. I was told they would be dry in 1 hour. There was no heated light to dry then nails. Next day, most of the polish was already off. I did not do any laborious work with my hands/nails. My nails did not even make it for the event that I wanted them for, had to get them redone and decided to do them myself. Lovely staff and had a good experience while being there, but poor quality and way over priced. Very disappointing, would not go again.

Booked an appointment for my 3 children a week and a half ago for February 23. I booked two of them at 1615 and the last at 1630. I even had a phonecall the day before confirming my appointments. We arrived at 1600 and all 3 kids had tgeir temperatures checked and were checked in. My first daughter was taken in and I was told that we had to stay out of the salon. I asked the stylist to trim her hair and her bangs, but that we were growing out some of her bangs and to just to a light bang and to leave the bangs from the back to grow out..... he cut them all and she was given very heavy bangs. We waited another 15 or so minutes and i asked the receptionist why they hadn't called my other children in. I was told they were behind- but when the stylist came to get her she apologized and said she wasnt aware that we were here. Her haircut was done in 10 mins and we waited again for my son to be called and at 1650 were told that he wasnt booked untill 1800!! So after waiting close to an hour we had one child not cut and another one with a less than satisfactory cut. Im extremely displeased

First time trying this place, there's a sign out front that says "Walk-ins welcome" But if you walk in they book you an appointment for 5hrs later. To me Walk-ins welcome means they will do your hair without an appointment, you may have to wait 20/30mins but there is no need for an appointment. False advertising.

I went in for a simple haircut, with freshly washed hair, was told I had to have it wetted again, those chairs kill my back and neck, I showed the stylist exactly what I wanted, shorter with layers, came home brushed my hair, no layers, and way too much perfumey product that was hard to brush out. I have had great haircuts there before, but this is a mess. A broken wobbly chair, and a snippy receptionist. I should look fantastic at the upcoming wedding with this horrible haircut. I will go back to cutting it myself.

I have only been to this salon twice. My first visit was terrific! Great service starting with the hair washing, styling and delightful conversation with the stylist. Based on this experience I decided to pop-in for a simple layering. Stylist suggested that layering does not require hair to be washed, so dry hair, and I would be in and out in 10 minutes, and I was not to expect to pay the full amount. As promised, 10 minutes later my layering was finished on my unwashed hair. Awesome - until I was asked to pay $46!!!! Basically I got "First Choice Hair Cutting" service at this Salon with no discount. I don't like to be gouged and therefore I will not go back.

Truthfully I don’t know if I’d give the whole salon a 1/10 just because every hairdresser is different. But the hairdresser I got was supposed to be Very good, it’s crazy cause all my friends went to her (names Lindsay) she seems like she had a great page on her social media and her work was good! WRONG. I showed up there confident and trusting. She dyed it good but when I went home and washed my hair and straightened it, it looked like a 12 year old cut my hair. My hair went from being almost to my waist to my shoulders so it was a drastic change. This cut job was the worst I’ve ever seen. The back of my head was short the sides were long and the right side was longer than the left, and so many strands where uneven. It was horrific. I went back in and they gave me a refund for the haircut. For $50. That’s it. My hair was freaking $350. I tipped this girl $52 dollars. I will never be this trusting with my hair again. I went 3 years without cutting my hair or dying it and it took months to find a hair dresser just for this to happen, and truthfully I think she just didn’t care to cut it properly cause she thought I wouldn’t notice. But I do. If I could post photos of how bad it was you would mind blown. Even when she was washing my hair and proceeded to brush it out I was squeezing the chair with PAIN because she just ripped it all out, didn’t even hesitate to ask if I was ok, she used scorching hot water. I tipped her because I truthfully thought she did a good job other than pulling my hair!! Which didn’t make me mad until I saw that cut job with my hair straight , than I went OFF. Do not recommend. If you do go there make sure you know the person you choose has some REAL experience. I am extremely disappointed with her work. And I wish I got my full money back.

I’m from out of town and spent 50$ on a shellac manicure and it lasted 6 days before chipping and peeling off. I know it won’t last forever but I pay 28$ in ottawa for shellac and it lasts 3 weeks. The experience was nice - technician was friendly and took her time but the quality of work was not great.

Randy Hart has taken care of my hair during most of that time. His talent in cutting and styling hair keeps all his clients very happy, including myself. Worst service ever. Had an appointment for 7.30 pm, got there on time and stood in the line for like 11 minutes because receptionist was busy talking to someone about some personal stuff. Finally when my number came she(receptionist) asked me to have a seat in an unfriendly manner. Then i sat their till 7.50pm and nobody came to me. when i realized that i should probably leave from there then i asked receptionist to cancel my appointment and again the receptionist showed how stubborn she was and just said "OK" to me.No apologize and not explanations were done by her. May be she does not like brown people.Again, to let you know my appointment was at 7.30pm. What a waste of time for a regular customer.

Really disappointed with the way my daughter's make up was done for her prom yesterday 25 May 2018. She works to earn her spending money and paid $75 for her make up that resulted in her looking like she was ready for Halloween. She scrubbed it off with her tears the moment she got into the car to leave. The young ladies beside her getting their make up done looked young and vibrant. I mentioned that it was not looking appropriate and the young employee doing my daughter's make up handed me the brush and asked if i would like to do it myself. I was flabbergasted. You do not apply more make up to correct your mistakes...you take it off and start fresh. We may have caught an employee on a bad day but the attitude and disrespect was way beyond acceptable.

I have been going to Salon You for over 15 years and love the Salon. I have seen many different stylists during that time and they have all been awesome. All staff are very friendly, professional and the atmosphere is amazing. The owner of the salon Sal, is an amazing manager who treats his employees like gold and it is reflected in the way everyone cares for each other and their clients. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone and have many many times!

hairdresser knows how to cut hair, but overpriced and, quite an attitude, just because I was making clear (with photos) of what I wanted. then I saw her telling a colleague about me. when I said I might have to come back in a few days because the back seemed longish, she said she'd do it now and not take up time next week! all of this at Toronto prices in the Belleville mall. this person does not understand service.

After getting my hair styled I decided to have my eyebrows done. Unbeknownst to me, some wax spilled on my hair (it is very long) and I left after we were finished. By this time the mall was closed as it was after 9. On the drive home I discovered the wax when I ran my hand through my hair. After I got home (I live about 30 minutes away in Wooler) it took me 3 hours to pick and brush the was out of my hair, and even then it was sticky and matted at the back. I decided to return the following day and explain my situation to them. I told the receptionist what had happened and she took action immediately; finding a stylist to wash my hair and make things right again. When I was at the sink the stylist mentioned she couldn't see any wax, so I told her I had spent hours brushing it out, but touched the spot it was in and told her she could feel that it was sticky and matted. She touched it, said "mmm", and went about putting a wax remover in my hair. While I was in the chair being blow dried, the owner came over and inquired about what had happened, and the stylist told him. When he asked where the wax was, she said she didn't see any when she washed me, and the owner said "Oh" and walked away. No apology, no acknowledgement. Nothing. At this point I suspected he might have simply disbelieved me and said to the stylist I wish I had just left it since I don't think he believes me. She reassured me that the was not the case and the owner wasn't like that. 15 minutes later he comes back with the receptionist and asks my stylist to explain again what had happened, and she did. He then asked her "did you see any wax?" to which she replied, "no". He then stated "maybe because there wasn't any." My jaw dropped. I spat out "Oh yes, I made the whole thing up. I drove from Wooler to Belleville, twice, spent all this time in the chair just to--". At this point my stylist put her hand on my shoulder and frantically whispered "No, no, no, no, it's okay, it's okay, don't worry about it." The owner walked away with the receptionist. I was so sickened at this point I just wanted the hell out, so I told the stylist my hair was fine the way it was and threw it in a ponytail. I then apologized TO HER for any trouble I may have caused her, and walked out. So, in short, I paid for a service (which was provided, and well), had wax inadvertently spilled on me, and was (technically) compensated for the error. But all with consternation, like I was lying and a scam artist, no apology whatsoever (aside from the one I provided), and had an inferior hair style to the one I had to begin with. I will never, under any circumstances, return, nor will I ever encourage anyone else to. Oh, and then I had to go to Jazz Hair Studio in Trenton to fix up the "repair job" I had received, because I felt so humiliated I left before it was done to completion. Incidentally, Jazz is a great place, and recommend it entirely. Go here instead!

Really disappointed with my hair today, I heard such good reviews so I picked to come here but instead I wasted $250. I asked for a balayage and the lady said to me “ I don’t have the right type of hair” for it, not sure what that meant. She processed to say she’ll try and she what she can do. I was constantly left while she went to go drink her Starbucks and talk to her friends while I was left waiting in the chair, finally when she decided to put me under the heater, she put me under one with a broken left side that had no shield on it, and it didn’t work.. my hair came out as if I asked to have grey hairs. I’m so disappointed with my hair, and the service. Don’t waste your time or money going here.

Came in for a Manicure and used a gift card to pay. My friend and I both got Gel manicures and paid for them with gift cards. My friends covered the entire cost of the manicure and she had some left over, when I used mine it did not cover the entire cost. I was curious so I asked the receptionist how come the gift cards didnt have the same amount on them as I was under the impression that they all had the same amount on them as they are pre loaded for manicures. The receptionist was VERY rude with her response says she didnt know what to tell me that's what was on the gift card, when another employee tried to assist her she said WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO I CANT JUST ADD MONEY TO HER GIFT CARD. They other girl was very professional and polite and apologized for the confusion. I was just asking out a pure curiosity, it seems like every time I call to book and appointment the receptionist is always very disrespectful and unprofessional. Needless to say I dont know when I'll be back in because my experience with your receptionist was AWFUL. *** The girl who actually did the manicure Five star rating ☆☆☆☆☆ She was amazing!

Booked an appointment over three weeks ago for a lash lift and tint. Showed up 20 minutes early to be told right at my appointment time that they did not have the product to complete the lift portion and offered to tint only. Employee stated that the product was not ordered. Extremely disappointed that not only did I book way in advance, but they called to confirm the appointment the day before. Very unorganized and a waste of my time.

HORRIBLE!!!!! NEVER AGAIN! (not for Salon you but for an employee!-Laura D.) I gave this a 1 because I spent alot of money to make sure my mom had a satisfying experience she hadn't gotten for 20 years now for her Birthday present...that's all she wanted was to get her hair done and I went and booked a woman named Laura D. She was terrible with my mother! She complained about the condition of her hair and how damaged it was almost putting my mother in tears from disrespect and embarrassment as other employees and customers could hear her rude comments!!!!! And when she wasn't putting my mom down she was bragging about herself...self centered hairstylist and so inconsiderate and RUDE! I'm pissed!!!! And telling everyone NOT to ask for Laura D.

The most inconsiderate salon ever ...I have biracial hair and we did a consultation with Jamie and she gave us the estimate and all, and she said they would call when the relaxing product was in, and then we would book my appointment. After more than a month we decided to call and follow up, and then they told us that "oh we can't get it in... sorry." Totally not cool as we were relying on them to do my hair and they can't even refer me to another salon that does black hair... clearly not a place for black women to go.????

This was my first experience at Salon You in Quinte Mall. It was time for a complete change in hairstyle and I was amazed with the transformation. Every staff member made the total experience relaxing and enjoyable. I put my faith in my hairstylist immediately and let her take the reins and decide what needed to be done. I must say I haven't felt this good about my hair in years. This Salon is for every age group. I am in my 60's and I believe they made me look 10 years younger. Let's start off by saying, I won't go anywhere else. I came in a few months ago with a hat on. I had a terrible experience at another place an needed my hair fixed. Someone greeted me at the front desk and found me the nicest hair dresser. Fixed my hair right up and was very kind about the whole situation. She gave me a cute short cut and some molding clay so I could style it. I was very happy walking out. From mullet to cute short cut. I pay about 40 bucks every time I go back in and it's well worth the money

I've been coming here for the better part of a decade. I've been coming here since way back when the 'Walk-ins Welcome' sign meant you could walk in and get a cut. That long! ;) Although I definitely have my favourites, I really don't request a specific person for my trims and have never had a truly bad cut. Maybe some that weren't exactly as requested but I'm not one to throw a fit when a hair is out of place. Overall, all staff are very friendly and my hair always comes out looking good. Yes, sometimes it's difficult to get in when I'd like because my schedule is all over the place, at best, but that's because they are really that good. It's like a tattoo. Do you really want the dude that can take you in immediately or do you want the professional that does such a great job that you have to book them two birthdays from now to get in their seat? This place is always packed and noone leaves looking like they got a haircut by a lawnmower. The only thing that would make it better would be an open bar. Thank you Salon You for making me look presentable, especially since I know I go far too long between cuts. I'm not even embarrassed to tell my friends I'm going to 'The Salon'. :D

Beyond brutal they only cater to women’s haircuts have tried at least twenty times now to get a haircut as a walk in sign says walk uns always welcome but not true walk ins require you to come back in the next two hours have gotten several good haircuts here but you need an appointment only prob is most men can’t schedule like that and need to be able to walk in and get a cut this is not the place
