Went to the store twice to have our well water and tap water tested as we were experiencing issues with our water softener. First time was served by Ben. Did the test and then suggested we try Res-care to clean the resin. Wow, softener is like new. Went in again for another test to follow up. Served by Fred. Took his time, answered all my questions and provided guidance to check some things on our softener, which no longer tracks water usage, and then provided cost effective suggestions to remedy the issue if I couldn't resolve our issue. I I had several people come to my place to look at our softener. not one suggested any maintenance and all tried to sell me a new unit. I can honestly say that I am extremely pleased with these guys and will be going there for my home water and pool supplies and advice from now on. Thanks!

We hired Dave/Aqua Bay to put in a new liner for our pool this summer around the end of June. That same week we had Dave at our house, and he cleared the old liner out and did the cement work by himself. This week, the new liner was ready (under a month) Dave came over, put the liner in, and filled the pool and it looks fantastic. We were blown away by the speed, quality of service, and especially the final product. We have got several compliments from our neighbors on how lovely pool is now. If you want real competent pros to service your pool, go with Aqua Bay. Thanks for the great work!

We ordered a pool on May 18th 2021 that was quoted to us at $9400. One of their pool installers came out to our house a week or so later for the site survey. He told us it would be $9000 to install it; $9000 to install an 18ft round, on ground pool ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I tried calling and emailing aqua bay back to discuss this with Wendy (who I dealt with, evidently the owner) to no avail. After 4 emails, and 3 voice-mails I still received no reply. I was calling them to refer us to another installer that they use. Yesterday, I left Wendy a voice-mail saying I wanted my deposit back and sure enough someone called me back the same day. If I pull out of the deal, I lose my $2000 deposit or I can have a store credit..... It's not like I took possession of the pool and changed my mind, the deposit is to hold the pool so they can't sell it to someone else. This is insane, I truly regret giving aqua bay my business. I feel like I'm a victim of fraud, this is insane!

Im surprised there are bad reviews I see on here. I have dealt with both the Belleville and Kingston locations, and in both cases they are way more helpful and friendly than any other pool place. Several workers made time for my last-minute pickup to make sure my pool could be installed the same day. I was quite pleased with how helpful they were for me.

Never contacted me back....I really thought they would be good company to work with. I have purchased many big ticket items there, Pool Heater, Pool Pump, Flo pontoon Lift, ect.... So I was kinda of shocked when I got a quick response saying This person Linda would be in contact with me soon. That was a 4 days ago ... Nothing. Oh well.. I’ve moved on. I’m hoping it was just a miss communication but I’ve looked elsewhere because I need this taken care of (supply and install new pool liner). I understand you guys are very busy and could not install right away ... It was that you just didn’t contact me back so we could have discussed and get a quote.

They came to fix some pin size holes in my in-ground pool because I was loosing water. Paid for the service and still losing significant water That requires I top it up with over 1/2” per day even after a rainfall. About the same amount as before they fixed the pin holes. Spoke with Aqua Bay and they said “oh really? That’s too bad” and offered to send them again for full price! Not pleased

Brought a pool Kit, Stairs and Robot vacuum from Aqua Bay back in April 2021. After my wife talked to them for about a month back and forth we finally decided to buy a pool from them because all the pool places in our area where sold out and Aqua Bay is about an hour and a half drive from where we live. We had asked NUMEROUS times to make sure that it would all fit in our SUV and they assured us it will all fit fine. Now they may have forgotten were bought the upgraded stairs so maybe that is on us, But ultimately we had to make 2 trips 3 hrs round trip to get everything home. Now onto installation day: Since we live outside of their contractors installation area. We hired a professional to do it for us. Our installer gets the walls up and about to install the liner and the proper clips for the liner they are NOT in the box with the liner. In fact my wife DRIVES the 1.5 hrs to the location to get THE RIGHT CLIPS and my wife is informed its NOT the right liner for the POOL THEY SOLD US! Says their sales person. So now they are scrambling to find the right liner for our pool. They don't find one. They instead called their contractor who installs the pools and he informed them of how to do it. In the end my wife got the brackets she needed to install the liner properly into our pool, our installer has sat around for 5 hrs wasting his time, all because they didn't make sure everything we needed was in the boxes. Poor Customer Service, no communication. Floor Staff is nice, but Management doesn't give a rats behind weather it all works out. No compensation was offered for what we were out. WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. I had nothing but issues with this company. Poor job opening pool (did not perform all services included in my package) I went back to have my water tested and they sold us another $200 worth of chemicals and gave us a very incomplete set of directions. Called back the next day for clarification, at which point the gentleman who answered told me NOT to follow those directions and that I would require another week at least to get my pool opened, and would have to buy MORE product from them. After calling back again to speak with a supervisor and sort things out, the customer service woman was rude and I asked to speak with someone else. She connected me with Mike, after a heated conversation (at which point he talked down to me, called me son and when I complained about the lack of service asked me what I expected for the money I had paid, because "that's not the way things work in the real world") Mike said he saw my point and said he would call me back that evening and arrange to come by the following morning and help me out with some chemicals and direction to get my pool open (at this point it's 5 days after they "opened" it and the pool was still lime green). He never called, never came, I never heard from them again. I turned to another smaller local pool place 2 days after Mike from Aquabay blew me off and my pool was clear and opened within 48 hours for a grand total of $26. Aquabay are crooks, and they don't care about their customers... STAY AWAY!!!

Called twice to ask if a specific part was available. After being on hold for 10 minutes during the second call, the phone was ringing back and clearly no one was going to answer. I hung up and called right back to be told that they were swamped at the store and, despite knowing exactly what part I need, I had to stand in line at the store to be told whether or not they had it? Maybe the store would be less swamped if a 20 second stock check was done over the phone?

I have dealt with Aqua Bay for 30 years. I have purchased pool and spa chemicals and accessories, had a liner replaced, had a soft water conditioner installed and had repairs done by qualified staff. The only time I have not had immediate service is when a lot of other customers have been ahead of me.The principals- Wendy, Mike and Dave- are very knowledgeable, friendly and customer-oriented. Together they have turned a small operation into a thriving company which provides employment for over a dozen employees. Aqua Bay is my destination of choice for all things related to pools, spas,water conditioners and RO units

Nice looking store but the lack of customer service is quite an issue with this place. Both in store and over the phone. Not very friendly on average, nor patient. I literally felt like the associate was annoyed with me, as though I was an inconvenience. Bare in mind I am not trouble maker type customer, I am quiet and passive. So I generally mind my business. I literally havent had a customer service experience this bad in ages.

This place has the worst customer service, period. All I asked was for them to fix my water softener, which was an ongoing issue for seven months. When they couldn’t guarantee their work, I followed up with the owner (Mike), and he got extremely rude and aggressive. I strongly suggest you bring your business to another place. I started taking my goal skates two years ago. Eventually got them profiled and will not take my skates anywhere else. Very friendly owner and a surprisingly interesting equipment and clothing selection. No goalie gear but great for my skater needs.

I'd do zero if I could!!!!!!!! Skate sharpening is okay, but nothing great, hit and miss. Also no one in the store knows whats going on, what the price is of any item, they can't find anything in the computer!!!! If your going there to buy one item for $20 you still need to give yourself an hour because you have to account for all of their issues. They've sold me the wrong merchandise a few times and they always take it back but I have to travel back and fourth, burn fuel and waste time. Customer service is the worst I've ever encountered!

Honestly prices were comparable and they had lots in stock when we called. Easy pick up. We ordered the esprit 24’ round and we had the choice of a overlap or beaded liner and so we chose beaded. Got everything home and stored. Started to pull everything out to assemble next day and couldn’t figure out where the top connectors were for liner so we called and asked. Found out those don’t come with the package if you get the beaded liner. No one told us this. Doesn’t say this on the website either. I’ve been looking at everything to see where I may have missed this information. We could exchange our liner or pay $169 for the connectors. We were absolutely flabbergasted. We paid the $169 as we wanted the bead liner but this information could have been provided on ordering or pick up. Why we had to spend the time looking for this connector and call only to find out then? Thankfully we were still early in our set up process but word or warning to anyone purchasing here. Edit Day #2 of set up. We were missing a top tube connector so we called about. Basically told to call St Lawrence and they hung up on my husband. We were also missing 2 floor coves and didn’t bother calling back. Just ended up making a sand cove on that spot. Not sure who packs the kits for them, but we got screwed.

We had brought in a sample for our hot tub in order to get the right chemicals for treatment. When calling to confirm that our order was ready, the secretary was incredibly rude and treated us poorly. We had no idea if our chemicals were ready and we didn’t want to drive 40 minutes if they weren’t. The secretary put us on hold and never came back to the phone. UPDATE: the customer service outside of the bad secretary was fantastic! Thank you for rectifying this situation; much appreciated :)

Avoid this business! I ordered a pool from the Kingston location and called a week later to arrange pick-up in Belleville. I am then told that there is no pool in stock. They have oversold several pools. I am unsure how inventory is tracked at the store. I have also asked the owner, Wendy to call but she has not responded. Very dissatisfied with lack of customer service and organization from this store.

I was with another provider for 10 years before I walked into Aqua Bay three weeks ago ready to buy a whole new water treatment system with hopes that it would solve the embarrassing sulfur smell coming from our taps. After maybe 10 minutes, Mike knew exactly what was wrong and rather than sell me the equipment I was ready to buy, he took the time to explain what the problem was and he solved it for less than $100. It's been three weeks and still no smell. Each week I've been emailing Mike with updates and he replies with next steps within minutes. I can't express how happy we are. These guys saved us thousands of dollars and added thousands more to the value of our home. If you're living in the Quinte area, this is the company you want to deal with.

We bought our hot tub from Aqua Bay. First time it was repaired we were told it was caused by a manufacturer defect. Since the warranty ran out we had to pay. Fast forward 2 years and we recently had the same issue with the leaking. Service repair came after waiting over a week. Hot tub was almost empty. He put pump into tub and drained 2 inches of water. I told him where leak was but refused to listen and took all the panels off. Removed some of foam around pipe where I said it was leaking. Said would be back tomorrow to put silicone on dry pipe. I cleaned up the mess. Still the same job. Put silicone on pipe next day maybe 25 minutes. Left panel off. Signed off on the work order. Called office invoice was 212.00. Called the store numerous times because he left the panel off and it was too heavy for me to put on. Finally came over a week later. Turns out they charged me on the work order I had signed off on and now the bill was almost 400.00. They charged us a service call for him to put panel on which was part of the job. We argued and they took the last service call charge off but bill was still 325.00 so my advice to anyone who gets work done by Aqua Bay make sure you know what your being charged for because even after signing off we were charged additional money.

We went to Aqua Bay to research a new natural gas barbecue. Cody was the salesperson. He could answer every question we had about each brand they sold and even brands they didn't sell. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and was the sole reason why we purchased our grill there. Assembly is free and they did it within an hour. They helped us load it and even lent us a strap to tie it down with. Very pleased. Customer service was exceptional and that means everything to me personally. Highly recommend them for grills, no idea about the bad reviews on people and their pool issues.

Although customer service has been questionable with the ladies (even one of the older ones whom I believe is the owner or co owner?) We have always enjoyed the young man with the dreadlocks and Cody. We were also very loyal customers over the seven years we have lived here. (Pool, hot tub, barbeque, new hot tub cover, solar blanket, pool heater...... And countless supplies!) I think my jaw actually hit the floor yesterday with the service I received. I realize it's Covid times, but don't you especially want to take care of your customers during this time? I called when I pulled in for curbside water testing. She took my name a d number to look up our account and told me "someone will come out to grab the sample". So I waited in my car. With my three year old for TWENTY FIVE MINUTES. Finally, I called back. She very rudely told me I was supposed to drop the sample in the "skate box". I said okay, well I have been here for twenty five minutes and you just told me someone was going to come grab it? When I told her the information should have been shared - and why did nobody call when they realized that I had not dropped it in the skate box... Especially when they had my number and were aware I called from the parking lot. I was parked to the side of the building where all their offices face. All she had to say was sorry for the confusion and be polite. Instead she tried to make me feel like an idiot and was unbelievably rude slamming the phone down in my ear when I had enough of her rudeness and said I would just go elsewhere. I still can't believe it. I hope you read this and take a good look at how much we spent at your store over the years. Not to mention the things we buy that don't show on our account. It is not a coincidence that there are many reviews on terrible customer service. Take a look at yourself.

Could not be more pleased with the knowledge and service provided here. Had a problem with a water softener I purchased here, the service guys worked with me to try and solve the issue. When we couldn't solve it over the phone and they thought it was a problem with their unit, they came out free of charge to repair it. It turned out to be a mistake from my installation, they were very gracious and professional about it, quickly repaired it and left me a satisfied customer who will come back time and time again. This kind of service EARNS customers for life.

Ignoring calls, charging us for services they promised would be free, giving us 3 inches of water in our 27' pool and never telling the water company to come back and fill it, the list goes on. Don't go here, service is absolutely awful. We've been trying to set our pool up since April, it's now mid-June and they're still giving us difficulties and our pool is not even filled. Save your money, time and frustration and go to another company.

After discovering my sand filter had died, I visited Aqua Bay the other day to look for a new one. My old one was a jacuzzi laser, and I was told by an employee there, that purchasing another new "jacuzzi" sand filter, would be easier as the multi port connections would be the same. So, I purchased a new sand filter, attempted to hook it up, only to discover the new sand filter was NOT the same configuration as my old one. I drove back again, the next day, but nobody could find a filter that had the same configuration, so I returned it for my $ back. Received a call from Wendy, the next day, who was very helpful and has arranged to have an older type dial valve brought from Kingston for me to switch over to a new filter (which I will re purchase). Delightfully surprised at the help she gave. So thanks Wendy!

Our pool liner was damaged due to ice. Insurance covered the cost and paid Aqua Bay well over $5G for the liner. Since the pool was empty for the season, we had it filled below the jets as per any closing; everything disconnected. In essence the pool was closed. We asked Aqua Bay to put a pool cover on. We paid over $600.00 for this cover. They sent out two guys who were at our house and gone in under an hour. We get a bill for $456.11. They charged for travel! It's 45 min drive. I have driven to Aqua Bay and handed them cash on two occasions. This was their customary closing fee. They did not close the pool! It was done...the hoses removed...lines blown....antifreeze placed in line. They put in a cover and were gone. They did not return calls to enquire but sent collections after us. Quite the service for a customer that has brought over $6 G in your direction. We now have one guy from Peterborough who closes the pool for $175. I am about to spend over 1G on a high end BBQ. I learned that Aqua Bay is a dealer...ha...ya...I'd rather eat mud than hand them another cent.

I purchased a deluxe model hot tub in September 2020. After paying more than $11,000, and receiving a delivery date of early in the year 2021, I am still waiting for delivery. I have called several months in a row since the new year and am getting no new delivery date. When I purchased it in Sept, Wendy told me I was in luck as they had one left in their stock. If that was truly the case, why am I still waiting? When I called today again to enquire about delivery date again, I was told they have no idea when it will be delivered. They were quick to take my money but now seem not to have any idea of delivery! I understand there are delays due to covid but at least they should be able to check and give me a date. At this point I would never again do business with this company, and not recommend them to anyone.

Was told I could bring back whatever was left over of the solutions to my pool at the end of the season. When I tried today, I was told that is not allowed. It makes sense, but the guy I dealt with sold me the big canisters of everything and was SURE I could bring it back. I had over half of everything left easily. was Given a quote to open our pool and the bill came in at twice the price because everything I was told was included for the price to open was actually extra. Not to mention we already had everything hooked up and running. I had my own chemicals and they still used their own so they could charge me extra. I basically paid $300 for them to put my steps in and show my how to hook up the vacuum. Went in to talk to someone about it and was basically called a liar and told that it’s my word against the store reps and she is good at her job and would have told me about all of the extras so I must be wrong. They were not at all helpful and I will be taking my business elsewhere. So so disappointed.

Purchased a used hot tub offline... ended up requiring a complete rebuild of the plumbing system and more. Went to aqua bay to purchase the parts and they were MORE than helpful in getting me set up. Dave was awesome in helping me get sorted out on parts, wiring and installing the new mainboard. While some staff there are new and still learning they are always trying to be as helpful as they can. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to rebuild themselves or buy new.

If you read the reviews on this page you will notice that many of the 4 and 5 star reviews are 3 to 5 years old and the owner of the store has responded to them quite often! It seems that the more recent reviews have more in the way of 1 and 2 stars with complaints of service and rude or just not addressing customers in a positive manner. About a month ago I was in the warehouse picking up a purchase and I noticed some older hot tubs on the top of the racking. When I asked about them the w/h person said that I had to ask in the store. My wife and I went to the store and spoke with a sales person about the tubs and she took my name and number to give to the owner and have him call me back about them. I waited 2 days and called the store to leave him a message in his voice mail to call me back about the tubs. This is where I agree with the other reviewers that have felt being ignored. Here"s another one star for not treating a customer properly

Very helpful staff! My husband has been in and out asking for feedback and tips on basic maintenance and troubleshooting our softener system. He has never felt unwelcome and they were always there to help. We would highly recommend them based on their customer service and knowledge.

We went to Aqua Bay on 18 April 2015, looking for a pool liner and someone to install it for us. We met with an older, blonde woman who didn't seem to really know much and wasn't at all helpful. She said there were "none in stock" and that she would call the company because all they had were last years liners, and would call them on the following Monday. She scribbled the info, but didn't even ask for our names (I had to ask her if she wanted it). As we left, I said to my husband "Yeah, we won't hear back" and we haven't. Nothing. Their installer was in Florida, and we still haven't heard back from him. We drove down to St. Lawrence Pools, and purchased a liner and hired their installer - all within about 15 minutes and $60 cheaper. Terrible customer service - yes, it's not a huge job, but it's still $$. Go to another pool company that is a bit more customer service oriented.

Purchased a new hot tub from Aqua Bay. Despite unexpected delays in delivery and limited communication regarding a new delivery date, we have finally received our hot tub. I just want to highlight our satisfaction with the delivery and set up man Fred. He took extra care in the handling and placement of the tub and clearly explained the operation and features of the unit. Fred is obviously a skilled technician and definitely impressed us with his knowledge and experience. Hopefully this is an indication of the level of service we can expect moving forward. I Walk in there for information on hot tubs, we're going to buy one this spring. Walk passed a guy sitting as his desk to the left who doesn't pay any attention to me. Other guy at the cash is talking sorts with the only other customer in there. So I do a round of the tubs, then stand by the cash, and listen to their sports conversation for 5 mins. I might as well be invisible, lol. I Walk out of there unnoticed. Guess I'll buy a hot tub elsewhere then.

We have had them open and close our pool, deliver set up and service our hot tub and every time we have been in the store we have always met us with a smile. I can say from the front desk to the service providers to the owners we have only ever received the very best of service. Slow service. 30 pounds of pool supplies put into a 3inch deep box with 3 corners broken which dropped all the chemicals all over my deck. Lady came in beside me about her pool that was just opened by aqua bay, showed a picture of it, looked like coffee. Just saying !

I called and spoke with a wonderful gentleman here named Mike. He was super helpful. I called back and spoke with another gentleman a short time after, again, super helpful. I then drove an hour to attend their store and it all changed. Not one person welcomed us into the store. Not one person approached us to ask if we needed a hand. When I finally asked someone is Mike was available I was told he would be back. Waited a bit longer and asked another employee who then spoke with the female owner and then disappeared. Eventually the female owner Wendy came back again and qas informed he and another employee gone home for the day and no one would be available to go Into the warehouse. Now, I had made a mistake in the dimensions of my tub so either way it would have been a wasted drive down, HOWEVER, the employees on the floor really need some work with their customer service, including the female owner. She was so incredibly disorganized and rude! I spent approximately 45 minutes in store just waiting for someone to help. I would absolutely not recommend visiting the store. I will purchase my cover elsewhere.

I have shopped at all the pool stores in the area,I like them all except this one. This review is long overdue.The staff at Aqua bay are absolutely terrible. The advice with my pool over the years has not always been very good. They usually get it right ,...eventually, but only after spending a lot of money on chemicals which are often cheaper elsewhere.I am ok with them not knowing their stuff , what I am not ok with is being treated like I am an inconvenience.like really... I am trying to buy things from you and you are too busy talking to another customer about how awesome you are, and how much more you are selling than the other stores??? Quite the opposite aquabay!!! You are rude, you let me wonder around the store and look at me with your stuck up nose from inside the office. I am going to give my money to the other stores from now on. I am so done here!!
