At this moment the business gets a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is nearly the top, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may conclude that the valuation is very accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Spa is classified in the category of Spa.
My sister and I come here during Christmas time every year to spend a day at the spa and we look forward to it very much as the season approaches. We have always had great service and a relaxing time. We are vegan and we love that they use vegan products for their massages, facials, and pedicure and manicures. They also have vegan menu items including deserts. The hot pools are very relaxing and have a variety of temperatures. We will be returning again this year! I would highly recommend this spa for anyone visiting the Bow Valley area.
Best place in Alberta to unwind. I had a wonderful massage and the mineral pools were not too busy when I visited. 10/10
Always an awesome time. Very professional.
They add an 18% gratuity on ALL services. Tried to book an 8 hour spa package for 04-OCT-2019 they said they can't accommodate that package due to expansion and renos. "At this time, We are not offering Pure indulgence package on your preferred day. The Willow Stream Spa will start it’s exciting spa expansion and refurbishment project on September 11, 2019 until Friday, December 20, 2019. I would recommend you to book individual services OR any other day package instead." If I wanted a different package I would have tried to book a different package. But I wanted the full day $719 package. I will look for a different spa as I have no desire to spend time in a construction zone.
Amazing. The best massage of my life and I've had many at other spas and hotels . I had hot stone with Debbie and she was incredible. Perfect pressure and touch and very friendly. The spa itself is awesome . You get free access to spa and pools and saunas when you book a massage otherwise I believe its about 70 or 80 to enter the spas . Diff temperature pools and a couple of saunas . Outdoor hot tub in a zen environment. Resting room with teas, coffees, infused waters, cookies. Also a coed resting room. Perfect vibe. I was so relaxed after my massage and spa facilities that I felt high
This is a great spa, after an unfortunate experience the Spa director reached out and made things right. I plan on going back and enjoying this 5 star spa and service. We have been coming here since it opened and this continues to be a highlight of the spas we visit.
It is hard to rate the whole day in one review. Everything was pretty spectacular, but the lunch really marred the experience for us. We ordered our meals about an hour before our massage (with notice of our spa times) and were told 30 minutes, but we received them ten minutes before our treatments, and had to scarf down a $35 lunch, which neither of us enjoyed, nor finished. I would suggest to the hotel to allow guests to select their meals ahead of their stay and have it ready in time to enjoy before their $500+(ea) spa experience.
Spa is nice but i am giving it a 3* considering the value you get for your money. The facilities are starting to look old. I guess you pay a premium for the location and views. The sauna wasn't working well and wouldn't heat up while i was there. Steam room and waterfalls and outdoor jacuzzi are fine though. I love Bota Bota in Montreal which is so modern and inexpensive in comparison, so you may think i am beeing overly picky.
Another fabulous spa experience. Amazing massage with Everitt!
This is my second visit to the Willow Stream. Mary is an incredible massage therapist. She listens (a skill not all therapists have) and responds with the right amount of pressure, technique and focus to meet your needs. The "taking of the waters" is a great bonus. Two hours of hydrotherapy, including a central mineral pool, indoor and outdoor hot pool, cold plunge, inhalation room and steam room. I live in Canmore so this is like a vacation day for me!
Luxurious! The mineral pools will make all of tour problems (or at least some) go away! Excellent service, perfect atmosphere and the best views of the mountains and wildlife from inside the lounge.
We had a lovely partner massage. The staff were professional, the facilities are absolutely beautiful and spotless, and the extras like tea and cookies were a great touch. Relaxing and recommended. The 2-hour hot-warm-cool pool series really topped off the experience.
Such an amazing place to come and relax for a bit - step away from the world and spoil yourself a bit. Been here a few times, make sure you leave time to get into the pools and soak, it’s about as relaxing as any session you would have with a masseuse.
Incredible day! We checked in about 8:30 and left at 6:00. The staff from check in to waving good bye were all very courteous and helpful. Robin was my massage therapist and is very good at what she does. Julie did my facial and pedicure and I loved every minute I spent with her AND she provided amazing service. The facility is gorgeous, the lunch was fantastic. The hot tubs and mineral pools were refreshing. Can't wait to go back.
Good even though there were renovations, great place to relax!
The front desk is disorganized, seems to be a lot of new staff, some mistakes were made. The spa itself is very good, we come almost every year, this year the massages were not as consistent as other years, my wife's was different from mine. The service inside is good, separate lounge for men and women, and a common lounge for both, where meals can be ordered in. This is still one of our favourite spas in Canada, despite the front desk experience (management quickly rectified the errors).
Well run, clean. If you have health insurance you can have a massage and access the spa for the day. Message therapist I had was very qualified having a kinesiology degree as well as massage training (therapists unlikely to be required to have a degree). I also come here just for the spa. It's one of the few (only?) local spots to get a sort of hydro massage. If going to just the spa as a non-hotel guest be sure to call and make sure there is space. The price includes parking. Bring a lunch if you want to avoid the high price of... Everything. A drink will set you back $25.
Not sure how many people are "beginners" at spa services like myself. But I had the aromatherapy massage with Michael and I felt comfortable and relaxed, it may seem strange to comment on but the movements made and the obvious care for me to feel comfortable and at ease ( I was nervous about feeling over exposed) but that was never a problem! It was a very relaxing and extremely professional experience that left me feeling happy and relaxed. And if you are a beginner and feeling body conscious...dont! I felt 0 of the body issues I thought I would! Thank you for the amazing experience!
Great spa experience. In the change rooms there are many products you can use like lotions, shaving, hair, etc. There are showers, towels, bathrobes, bathing suit dryer, and lockers you can use. Before the pools, there is a lounge area where you can rest, eat fruits, and drink tea. The staff are also on hand to help you out in any way and give you tours if needed. Once you step into the spa area, there is a small hot tub, steam & sauna room which are all very nice and clean. The mineral pool is warm and surrounded by smaller 'punch pools' of varying temperatures. The staff recommend you to go to the hot one first, then warm one, and lastly the cold one before entering the mineral pool. To top it off, the outdoor hot tub is excellent with a great view. The only negative is the cost. At $69 per person, it seems very pricey for what you are getting.
nice haircuts. snip snip
Expensive but worthwhile a visit.
Incredible luxury spa with numerous treatment options and amenities
My gf's and I go to this spa at least once a year. It has always been a great experience and always leaves me wanting to go back for more. I had a Deep Tissue massage with JoAnna and she was amazing!!! Don't be fooled by her soft spoken voice and cute personality... the girl knows exactly what she is doing, and totally lived up to the cost of the massage itself. Thank you Joanna!!! I will be booking you next time :)
A great spot to relax.
Beautiful spa with gorgeous view!
Booked a couples massage at deep tissue, got relax level message which was done well enough for 250$ the spa was basically three temp level hot tubs and a larger mineral pool. Everything else is closed and no change to price. So the break down on the bill is $ 40 for a spa stay = 2hrs of hot tub/ mineral baths with less people then the included hotel hot tub and inside outside pools.
For my birthday, I had booked the Stress Relief Medium Pressure massage and my masseuse was Amanda McWhan - she was fantastic and the session was perfect, I couldn't have asked for more. It truly was one of the best overall spa experiences I've had in a long time! Frontline Crew was lovely in getting me signed in and oriented, and the massage had me feeling unbelievably well and relaxed. It was perfectly rounded out with time spent in the hot pools and sauna, and because it was a beautiful fall day, I enjoyed the outdoor pool access as well. Coffee, tea, water and light snacks were included in cozy rooms (mens, womens and co-ed available) and could be enjoyed before or after your session. Truly a worthwhile experience to try for yourself.
This place is fabulous! I've been coming here for years to use my work benefits for massages, but I have tried other services here such as facials and manicures/pedicures. I'd recommend staying with their spa services and not use their salon services like manicures and pedicures. They are quite pricey and you only get access to the spa facilities (such as the mineral pool and sauna/steam rooms) if you get spa services (hair, makeup and manicure/pedicures do not count). They do have evening hour promotions on entry prices if you don't want spa services. Their massages are great though. They offer different kinds (deep tissue, aromatherapy, etc) but the service is always great. They are attentive to their customers and always try to get you to have an enjoyable experience. The mineral pool area is nice with multiple waterfall pools at different temperatures to fully immerse yourself in the spa experience. My only issue is people reserving what few seats there are with towels and disappearing somewhere else in the spa. Not ideal! We always have lunch in the common room upstairs that offers free coffee/tea, cookies, granola bars and fruit. It has a beautiful view overlooking the Bow valley too. Overall it's a great place to come spend a spa day, a little pricey, but top notch service! Who wouldn't love a spa day in a "castle" in the Rockies with snow capped mountains to look at all day!
My wife and I had a fantastic experience! When we arrived, we were greeted by the front desk staff. Unfortunately her name escapes me, she had bright red hair with an Australian accent (I think). She was so courteous, informative, and helpful. We arrived at 3ish and enjoyed the services and amenities till 8pm. The facility was absolutely amazing and clean. Staff was readily available to tidy the pool area and change rooms were on point. This truly was a luxurious spa experience. Highly recommend anyone who truly appreciates being pampered to visit them; we surely will be back again soon. This truly epitomizes what a day spa is all about.
Excellent experience!!!
Beautiful facility to relax and be pampered.
Excellent and professional service, very relaxing! If you're looking for a spa experience in Banff, this is the place to go!
The massage and facial were the absolute best I ever had but I was very disappointed with my pedicure. The amount of nail polish that was used was excessive and despite of waiting 3+ hours before leaving, it was still not dry. The overall finish wasn't great either. My favorite part of the experience was the outdoor hot tub with breathtaking views of the mountains.
Had a wonderful and relaxing massage treatment here. This is a wonderful spa situated in the glorious Banff Springs Hotel. The prices include gratuity and are on the pricier side, but the experience is well worth the price. Highly recommended!
I remember when it was Called the Banff Springs Hotel about 41 years ago i was there then and we visited the icefields.
The pools are great!
Friendly, professional, all around great service. We talked alot during the massage. Very attentive and honest. Kayla is amazing.
Amazing world-class spa. A must to experience.
Very relaxing experience!
I have been going to the Willow Stream Spa for years and I go at least 1-2 times a year. The treatments are excellent and the therapists are without a doubt exceptional professionals. On only one occasion have I had a treatment that I didn't care for, but the staff and spa ensured that my concern was addressed and it was resolved. The pools, indoor and out, are a rare treat for those who get to use them and you can literally stay there all day enjoying yourself and relaxing. The only reason I am not giving it a 5-Star is that the main pool area is starting to look a little dated and rough around the edges, the blue tile around the cascading waterfalls specifically, and a fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt. This is being very nit picky however, and if you get the chance to go to the spa, take it! You won't regret it.
This place is magical!
Want to relax? This is definitely the place.
Do not ever go here.... never ever, we want this place to ourselves!! Simply awesome.
Highly recommend the "twilight hour" spa access between 4pm and 7pm. It's only $30pp to access all of their facilities, which include the 4 mineral pools, sauna, steam room, and inhalation room, as well as relaxation areas with refreshments and snacks. Change rooms are very high-end with all male grooming products. Sandals and robes are standard. If you're ok zoning out by yourself, this is a great time and place to do it. We went there on a Saturday and it was completely dead. Very quiet and relaxing experience.
Lovely place and outstanding service
Always a great relaxing time at Willow Stream.
One of the best places to visit in Banff. Absolutely love the Willow Stream Spa. Very relaxing and stress free environment that is very clean. Highly recommend this Spa as it will be worth every dollar. Location is great, best view of the mountains and more. You can get a massage and many other great services along with the deal. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. Can't wait to be back.
Beautiful serene Spa place with relaxed atmosphere n great place to swim
The facilities were nice. A few pools with waterfalls and a nice outdoor heated pool. They were under major renovations when we were there, which was disappointing. The stairs were closed so to move around the spa levels you had to cram into a tiny elevator that was often full and very slow. The worst part of the experience was when we went up to the "coed lounge" after waiting five minutes for an elevator. The menu contained very little in the way of alcoholic beverages, and it was ordered room-service style over the phone, with each order costing a $6 delivery charge and an 18% auto-grat. I wanted some kind of warm alcoholic drink. I asked the front desk if that was possible and they said it was and just to ask the bartender when I called the order in. I asked if they had some kind of warm alcoholic drink. They suggested hot chocolate and Baileys. I agreed and half an hour later my hot chocolate and my girlfriend's wine showed up. My hot chocolate was served in a paper cup and was half full. It cost $24. It was a hot chocolate with a single shot of Baileys. It was half full and it cost me TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS before tax, delivery fee and the auto-tip of 18%. The $50 bill I had in my pocket was not enough to buy a 5oz glass of white wine and a hot chocolate with Baileys. Anyways, the spa itself is nice, but to say I felt nickle-and-dimed is an understatement. Ripped off would be more accurate. I'm so glad I paid $89 for the privilege of being charged $30 for a hot chocolate.
This is by far the best spa I have ever had the pleasure of going to. I have been here twice - once June 202 and April 2021. Both experiences have been delightful. While the pools/saunas/hot tub was closed both times due to the pandemic, my experiences were still out of this world. I have had pedicures, manicures, facials, massage, and a body scrub. I loved it all. My only complaint was the nail polish that was used for the manicure chipped almost immediately. But manicure nail polish usually ins't the best. The facials here are unreal. My favorite service by far to get. April 2021 I treated myself to a 90min facial and I literally never wanted it to end. I loved every relaxing, restoring, re-energizing second of it. I would also love the staff there. When I went in April it was for my birthday as a present to myself. The staff found out and all wished me a happy birthday and got me a card. How sweet of them. I would give each spa staff a shout out here but I don't remember their names and I cannot find it written on the emails. Thank you Willow Stream Spa. I am a customer for life!
The massage I received was excellent. The facilities were wonderful, with different mineral pools. However, just a warning: check with your benefits provider ahead of booking here. So I would recommend to anyone going: 1) check if it's covered ahead of time; 2) utilize all the facilities, as the price is worth it if you spend an entire day at this location (although this is subjective based on income, but I'm stating this based on comparable prices for a 1-hour massage -$90- and a drop in fee to use the facilities at this location-$79- which should come to $169, but instead the charge was $259).
Great experience as always.
A treat for the soul
Had a really great full day at the spa. It's nice to book a package to take full advantage of the pools and areas available. I would definitely go back to do it all again, all of the treatments couldn't have been any better. Lunch is included with many packages, however it's pretty vague.. so when I ordered mine with a kombucha it arrived with "we brought it, but it's not included" so that is ok, except I then had to trek back to my locker to get my Visa to pay for the drink. If you stay at the hotel you can easily charge it to your room though. I think it would be nice if the lunch included a drink credit, or at least I could have added one at the beginning to save the extra hassle.
After a long day hiking in Banff this spa was perfect to relax and get ready for the next day. I loved the hot tubs and pools, the sauna was excellent as well. I am coming back for sure. 5 stars!
My daughter and I recently had a massage and a day in the spa pool, the facilities are very nice. However, what really puts a damper on the whole day was the 18% gratuity which was automatically added to your bill. The one hour massage is $209 and a $50 dollars is automatically applied to the bill before the treatment. When I asked to change the tip amount, the staff then proceeded to tell me that by tipping less than 18%, my therapist will be penalized. So does this mean that the hotel is actually not paying their therapist and the pay comes from the tip? The culture of tipping in our society is out of control, tipping is a token of appreciation and a privilege, not an automatic right. I answered their survey regarding my experience and stated that the staff should be paid a fair wage and should not be reliant on tips. This was the response I received from the spa manager from what I thought was an anonymous survey. "With the automatic gratuity we have tried to simplify the arrival and departure experience for our guests so that you may relax and enjoy your spa time. We add 18% because we believe that this is what a guest would want to leave on a luxurious service we expect our therapists to provide as well as to be aligned with the industry standard". Most premium hotels pay their massage therapist around $50/hr.
Absolutely remarkable! What an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this spa - the staff is super friendly, the spa is very clean and accommodating. To top it all off; there's lots of different ways to relax.
Fantastic place to go and relax.
Great atmosphere.
It was under renovations which was annoying but still had a great experience. Nice pools, steam rooms, and Saunas. Had a great massage from Heidi. She did a great job seeing which muscles were tight and massaging them loose.
We go there few times a year and it's always top notch service. Thank You again.
Great experience at the spa for our anniversary. We came early for our massage and they told us we can go enjoy the hot tub while we wait (we were 30 minutes early). We both had a wonderfully relaxing hour long massage after which we got back into the hot tub for even more relaxation. I like that each hot tub has a different temperature set so if it’s too hot for you there are other options or you can take a swim in red pool. There is also an outside hot tub which is just that much more enjoyable in the winter! A must visit if you’re in the area.
Chair pool
Best massages ever!! Hubby and I go every year and to spoil ourselves.
Relaxing experience
Jeanne was awesome
Incredible experience every visit. The mineral pools are great and the outdoor hot tub surrounded by Reindeer is such a unique and beautiful sight. My favorite part might just be the Inhalation Room - a sauna made from eucalyptus wood which leads into a smaller and hotter sauna. LOVE this place
Really enjoyed my time there Therapist was very professional
Beautiful spa, beautiful scenery, great service. Free parking to boot! You will want to come back again and again.
Most amazing place ever!! Very high end but reasonably priced.every need taken care of. The most amazing views, healing pools and heavenly massages.
Just go!!
It is a very luxury spa, and the good thing about it is that after 4pm you can enter for discount rate. We enjoyed sauna and steam room as well as thermal pool where you can swim, three small pools of different temperature with waterfalls and outdoor jacuzzi. Oh yes, I should mention resting room where one can have tea or coffee and fruits while seating either inside or on the terrace. One interesting thing to mention: while there are hot springs in the area and it calls "hot springs spa", in fact mineral water pool is made with salts imported from South Africa. You can buy a jar of the same salts in the spa boutique after visit. It was a great experience, spa is clean, quiet, spacious, all toiletries provided. A wonderful way to finish a day if hiking or skiing in Canadian Rockies.
Although the spa is lovely, the $283 cost of a 60-minute massage (once tax & a not-negotiable gratuity are added) is simply beyond what is a reasonable price, even considering the amenities. Time allowed in the spa is also limited to two hours following your treatment, due to Covid.
A tranquil and refreshing stopover when in Banff. The spa has great options for people who are not guests of the hotel. You can get all day access to the mineral pools with a treatment, or pay for all day Spa Only access at a significant discount (depending on availability, earlier in the week is more likely) Relax, take in the scenery, enjoy the pools, have a bite to eat, and more.
A fantastic day of pampering... we felt like royalty. The aromatherapy massage from Amanda was excellent, and the spa afterwords was so refreshing and rejuvenating. Truly a peaceful, relaxing, and wonderful experience, it's a really great way to spend an afternoon on a getaway.
A beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate. The therapy pools, resting rooms, and spectacular views are wonderful!
We had such great service and extremely clean place..would do this again, anytime.
Absolute best bookend to skiing back to back days at Sunshine. Rotate through the different temperature whirlpools, soak in the mineral bath - or just sit outside in the hot tub. When it snows, a few adventurous bathers might roll in the snow between soaks!
Don’t bother unless you’re a hotel guest. I’ve come multiple times to visit the spa and I’ve called ahead multiple times. Yesterday was told to come after 2:30 pm and we got there around 4 pm and the lady at the front said you’ll have to wait until 5 pm. After I explained that I called and a member of your staff told me 2:30 she said she’d let us in but can’t in the future. I pulled up the hours of operation on my phone and nowhere does it say closed for the public before then. I requested to speak to a supervisor and they called me around 11:30 am the next day. He wasn’t able to give me any insight on why the staff are denying access and had encouraged him to change his website to be more clear. He also didn't listen to what I was talking him and cut me off many times while I was explaining my encounter. What a stressful encounter before what was supposed to be a relaxing day. I will think twice before heading to this spa facility.
Easily the best Spa in the Canadian Rockies. Treatments are excellent and being able to enjoy the mineral pools, aroma therapy and resting rooms for the day is an added bonus. The saunas have recently been re-done and the Kur pools have also recently been renovated.
The best spa in Canada!
This spa is stunning. The spa service rooms are average but the pools are absolutely beautiful. The indoor mineral pool and surrounding waterfall spas are very relaxing. You can step it up to a relaxing soak overlooking the mountains in the outdoor spa. The only improvement I would suggest is a couples massage room as well as I would have liked the inhalation room to have been working in the ladies room. It would have been nice to enjoy a coed sauna and steam with my spouse but that is not available. The massage I had was good but I have a feeling they mixed up the request for me to have a firm massage and my spouse to have a more light pressure one. I suggest you double check what the pressure your massage therapist offers on arrival if you have booked massages for multiple people at the same time. There are a lot of lockers in the change room and with the limitations for covid you would think they have given them out in a more spacious way, however I ended up right next to someone using theirs at the same time. None the less, visiting is a spectacular treat if you are in Banff and I would definitely come again.
Really an amazing hotel and spa. Banff is an exception outdoor area. If you get a chance to stay at the Banff Springs you will truly feel spoilt.
This is definitely one of the nicest spas in Banff and area. The services are on the higher side, but if you book a body treatment or facial, you are granted access to the mineral pools, sauna, inhalation room, steam room and hot tubs all found with the spa. They also have a nice outdoor hot tub with some mountain views between trees. They have nice co-ed lounge if you come with a mixed party and have complimentary tea, coffee, and cookies. Advanced reservations for weekends are pretty much mandatory. One thing to note, the nail file they use in the salon I find leave small catches on my nails. My nails are quite soft so perhaps it's individual. All in all, a nice way to spend a quiet day relaxing in the mountains.
Just so relaxing and so worth it!
I had such a wonderful experience, you really feel treated royal. My wonderful therapist Erin , was extraordinarily good, she has such good hands I literally didn’t want my massage should end, was a very relaxing calming experience. Then you are treated in a nice lounge , then they have beautiful jacuzzis and 3 kinds of temperatures little jacuzzis with a water fall in-middle it’s magnificent, plus an outdoor heated pool , and a big mineral pool . Least u can spend there is 2 hours . It’s totally worth
Great services
Gorgeous, relaxing, amazing.
One of my favourite spas! Professional and relaxing. Definitely leave time for the mineral pools
Don't get me wrong, the service and amenities here are top notch. Of course the service prices reflect that, which is fine. However, what really put a damper on my experience here was the 18% gratuity that is automatically added to your bill. When I asked to change the tip amount, the staff then proceeded to tell me that by tipping less than 18%, my therapist will be penalized. So they suggested we adjust the price of my massage (on the bill for insurance) to ensure that the therapist gets her whole 18% tip. First of all, a tip is a token of appreciation and a privilege. I found it extremely tacky that - the Fairmont - of all places tried to "mandate" the amount. I will tip the amount I feel is appropriate and I don't need staff trying to guilt trip me into paying more. Neither will I be okay with the Fairmont trying to offset their employees salaries onto me and other clients. Pay your employees a fair wage to begin with.
One of the best spas I’ve visited. The mineral pools and steam room were amazing, and the services (mani/pedi) were great as well. It’s worth the money to visit this spa.
Pure indulgence! The is the most amazing spa I've ever experienced
By far one of the nicest spas I've ever had the chance to go to. Location aside, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Employees went above and beyond to ensure that my wife and I truly enjoyed our experience.
I've been here several times. You can grab a great deal when you combine a night stay with a spa treatment. They have several mineral pools with different temperatures, steam and sauna rooms and relaxing lounges where you can enjoy free fruit, coffee, tea and cookies. Stay a while and order from their dine in menu and enjoy the scenic mountain view while you relax you day away. The spa is also equipped with clean linens and toiletries.
The mineral pool and different temperature tubs are your joints best friend.
Enjoyed my time at Willow Stream. Only critique, I had confused two of my appointment times and ended up being about 15-20 minutes late to my massage. The spa was unable to accommodate any changes so I only got a 40min massage instead of the 60 minutes I paid for. Even though it was enjoyable, I don't feel like I got my money's worth for that as I still paid full price and only got 3/4 of the service. The facial on the other hand was incredible. Very relaxing experience and would recommend, although note that there is no flexibility.
Amazing Spa!! Worth driving 5 hrs! Wish it would repopen amenities! Darn Covid. Awesome pools and sauna.
My massage was great! I recently fell and hurt my tailbone and my massage therapist did such a a good job that I was able to move around again with no pain. Just friendly service and the waiting room was very peaceful.
Beautiful facility and fantastic staff. My wife and I really enjoyed our weekend.
When I go here I really like it. The reason I am giving one star is because of a recent experience I had with an agent at reservations on the phone. I asked if I could make a reservation at the spa for a Saturday as I will be traveling from Edmonton and don’t want to be turned away because they are full. She said they don’t take reservations and it’s first come first serve. I asked to speak to the supervisor, of which apparently there is only one, and she said she works from 8-3:30 weekdays, which is the same as my work schedule so I’m not able to contact her. She was not helpful at all and now I have a gift certificate that I am unable to use. Very disappointing. Also, it is their practice to add a mandatory tip to all services. I had to pay a $50 tip for a $200 massage last time I was there. The tip is not covered by extended health benefits.
Well equipped facilities, beautiful architecture, stunning location. I was surprised at how much better my skin feels after the baths and relaxed my muscles are after a week of skiing
Decent spa but poor value for money. I think places like Scandinave (whistler and mont tremblant) offer way better value for money. Massage was good and by a registered RMT but things like "are you comfortable" "is the pressure ok" would have gone a long way. Would I come back again? Not worth the cost in my opinion.
Love this spa. So relaxing, great people and services. You leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
Always a favourite! I’ve been here many times and I’m always trying to introduce my friends to the wonderful spa at Banff Springs. I love that you’re free to enjoy the facilities all day if you’ve booked a service that day. One thing that would be a lovely bonus- one valet parking voucher for use the day of your spa service. It’s the worst feeling to leave a cozy spa and feel relaxed then have to walk out in the cold, a little lost and chilled while getting to your car. Just something I’d love to see in the future, it would be an incentive to come more often!
One of the nicest Spas in the world. Go.
Wow... Just wow.
I visited the Spa with my friend as a treat for her 30th birthday on August 31st, 2020. We were there for the "Reviving Manicure" which cost $75.00+tax, I believe you can save 10% as a club Accor member (which is free to join) and they automatically charge you 18% gratuity. The service was fantastic and 100% worth it if you are looking to treat yourself. We had Julie and Jada-Rae taking care of us when we went and they were just lovely ladies! They truly elevated the experience with how well they took care of us and their upbeat personalities. The spa sent out a questionnaire via email two days before to be completed which made everything very easy. They also had every COVID protocol in place possible yet made it seamless for us as a guest.
Just went for a girls weekend with my step mom and had a great experience at the spa! I had Jenna for a facial and she was so lovely. I have been breaking out so bad from wearing a mask all day, and she was so so helpful (and didn’t try to push products on me, just politely told me what she was using). I also had Mandy for a massage, who was absolutely perfect. She really helped my forearms (hairdresser haha!) and had great pressure. Thanks ladies!!
Very dissappointed on Saturday June 22nd 2019 drove all the way from calgary with my husband, daughter and her husband and his mom to enjoy an hour of relaxation in the spa to be turned down. The receptionist said to us it's very busy and when we looked in the pool there was only 4 people in it. The manager was very rude and very unprofessional about the whole situation. Very dissappointed customers. We usually come 3 to 4 times a year to enjoy the facility never got turned down. I have a gift certificate for the spa what a dissappointment.
Awesome spa. Multi temp plunge pools, mineral pool, sauna, steam room, out door hot tub, whirl pool and nice lounges with snacks and drinks. Not cheap but a nice treat Can use benefits with RMT massage
Beautiful is an understatement for how immaculate this spa is. Booked a massage & spa day for our anniversary and was amazed. From the selection of drinks and snacks in the lounge, to the amenities in the change room, to the mineral pools. It also offers the flexibility to leave for lunch and enter again, all whilst locking your belongings in a locker.
Enjoyed a great day at Willow Stream Spa. The setting is beautiful, the mineral pools very relaxing and the massage was the best one I have ever had. Thanks Paul.
What can I say? We have been to the Spa several times, and I am blown away by how relaxed I can get in the mineral pools. Add a massage and a nice lunch in the lounge, and you have the makings of a fantastic day of relaxation and contemplation. The view is fantastic and the outdoor pool is excellent! Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. If you are staying at the hotel, book a day at the Spa! And if you aren't staying at the Fairmont, make sure you have someone help you find your way out when you get so relaxed, you don't want to leave!
We booked a girls day at the spa and we were so excited to go. Arriving, everything seemed fine. I think it is outrageous they add an automatic 18% gratuity onto the massage. Gratuity is a privilege. It is based upon services rendered. We ordered food as well and we were not told they charge you $6 for walking it up the stairs and 18% gratuity for the zero service provided. And then we were told to "use our spa voices" when we were eating and it was not a quiet room and there were tons of people in and out and conversing. So, that put us off right away. The spa is way too small to accommodate the amount of people. You can't even find a seat. The mineral pools are good, the spa area is soooooo loud, it didnt really add to the zen. All in all, I think there is better out there for the hundreds of dollars you spend coming here. My massage was okay. I have had much better in Calgary.
Place s great.. service is perfect...
I had a pedicure from Jenna and she was so great. Very gentel and attentive to anything i would need to have a relaxing experience. Perfect after a week of camping and hiking. The reception is full of unique products to take home and have a bit of spa experience. The reception staff were lovely aswell. I recomend tagging on use of the spa facilities aswell if you dont like the crowds at the hotsprings. Thank you everyone for a lovely day.
Chris was amazing for a deep tissue treatment. Will definitely be back
I typically love this spa, great products, relaxing atmosphere clean, wonderful amenities! My visit this week was disappointing due to the fact that there was a dog pool side. I pay extra for access to the spa and I don’t feel allowing pooches is appropriate.
Pampering at its finest! Beautiful facility set in an incredible location with skilled and knowledgeable staff and therapists.
It was nice. I felt it was over priced but nice place to relax.
Byond the most wonderful way to spend a day! Had an amazing massage that was always a nice treat. Spent time in the mineral pool and the temperature pools, these were great however a little hard to truly enjoy with the loud waterfalls splashing everywhere. If you stay at the Banff Springs I do recommend checking out the spa ????????
Worth it! Booked in as a birthday gift to myself. The ultimate facial, which included hand and foot massage, was exceptional. The ambiance, cleanliness and professionalism of the staff was excellent. This spa is highly recommended.
Amazing!!!! I was led through what would happen in my treatment, and was not disappointed. Wow, what beautiful facilities.
Best Spa in Banff no contest
We really enjoyed this spa. The multiple mineral pools and outdoor hot tub were fantastic. With the snow falling, it was like a winter wonderland. Spa services were excellent. We would go again!
Amazing service and beautiful relaxing spa. I had a facial and my husband had a massage.
Their website said you can come in if your not a hotel guest for the price of $80 but what they don't tell you is that you can't come between Thursday and Sunday because it's too busy! Their only solution was to offer us the most expensive treatment they had! Super unimpressed with the way they handled it!! $700, no thank you.
Very relaxing however was tangled in long hairs from the mineral pool(simple fix have people with long hair tie it up) and old scum lines in the hot plunge pool (scrub near the stairs).
An acquatic escape to rival Scandinavian bests.
Amazing. Worth every penny! I'd go again without a doubt. Best massage I've ever had. The pools and other amenities are also fantastic!
The aromatherapy relaxation massage was one of the best i have ever received. I was provided 4 choices or essential oils, and they placed warm towels on your skin during the massage which felt really nice. The spa pools were very nice. There were 3 waterfall pools (hot, warm and cold), mineral pool and outside jacuzzi. Each of the men and womens side also have a steam room and sauna. They have a coed relaxation lounge, a relaxation lounge and patio in each men and womens lounge. They include light snack (cookies, tea, coffee, cucumber and lemon water). They also have cold towels you can use, which feel nice if youre overheated. There are lounge chairs around the spa to relax. The price was quite extreme though, thus I would not return again for this reason, but great experience to try once!
Absolutely outstanding spa; from the staff, to the treatments to the facility. I never wanted to leave!
Today was my 3rd visit to Willow Stream Spa, and just like the last couple visits, it was amazing ! The employees are all so nice and my massage therapist, Kolton, was amazing! From the massage to the mineral pools, the entire experience was perfect!! I love this place and will keep coming back!! Keep up the good work everyone!!!
It was a great experience to have a haircut in the fairmont willow stream spa. Hairstylist Rachel was amazing. I got what i was looking for, It was the best experience I ever had in the salon.
Dont waste your money here, it's overpriced for the quality of the facility and services. On our last trip the key didn't work in the locker which meant before I even started I had to go get another key, only to find out that's a regular issue... then why assign faulty lockers! It was overbooked and way too many people were in the pools which meant there wasnt enough chairs or loungers to relax in. The spa then decided to manage this they would empty items off any loungers that a person wasnt on, so my husband and I left all of our items on one lounger while we went outside to the hot tub, by the time we cam back in our things were gone and someone else was on the lounger. No staff to be seen to advise what happened, it was a man next to us who said the same thing happened to him and where our things were. I still had to disturb the person on the lounger to find our sandals as those were not moved. You also couldn't fit more than a couple of people in the small pools because of the water falls so we basically stayed in the main pool then went to our own sides for the peace and quiet. The massage was excellent, the spa itself has gone down hill since being taken over. Their online booking system never works properly then they send snotty emails about cancelling a held appointment that I had already confirmed with someone else. When I complained they apologized and offered free entry to the spa next visit... considering I only go when I have a massage which provides free entry, that's not really offering me anything plus it doesnt address any of the issues above which are completely preventable. I've been going for a decade there and never experienced such poor service and overbooking like that. I wont be back. Do yourself a favor and go to the Meadows Spa in the Moose Hotel instead, it's beautiful, the service is excellent and its half the price.
The facility is nice but the service is not worth the percentage you are obligated to tip. In the spa eating area our food arrived so late that I could not even dine with my companion (as his appointment began before the food was delivered). Even though there is a designated eating area, the hotel still charges you a $6 delivery fee and an 18% gratuity. I would be happy with this if the service was at least reasonable. The staff fail to inform you about the fact that gratuity has already been added and do not even respond when things are requested of them. I asked for packaging for the food I couldn't finish (as I had ordered for two but ended up eating alone) and this process took more than 20 minutes. I was first delivered a box without containers for sauce and asked if I could have containers for sauce. The server responded yes and continued to tidy up and refill things then left and never came back. I then had to call for the delivery of packaging again and the wrong packaging was delivered. There were no apologies for my wasted time. The service is also not consistent between clients as all other clients in the lounge were offered the ability to store their food in refrigeration and I was never offered this service. While I would like to return to the nice facilities I doubt I ever will because of the service.
Horrible and discriminatory place. Until this place changes, I will make sure nobody I care about comes here.
I had the best valentines weekend here, thank you ????
Great spa and awesome staff
Good hot springs experiences
Whilst the treatments seemed pricey, they were very similar to what other spas in the area offered but with great added value. You get full access to the spa for the day plus refreshments. The changing area in particular is spotlessly clean and well stocked.
I would definitely recommend getting a massage here. You also get access to private pools, a lounge and luxurious change rooms!
Another great Banff experience at the spa, hiking to the Bow Falls, the Santa Claus parade. The Banff Springs is the best hotel in Banff. When we arrived, the staff were waiting at the front doors with our room keys. They took our bags to the room while we went downtown for the parade. The food, the hospitality of the staff the location and the history make the BSH one of the most special and unique places on the continent.
Favorite local getaway for a day of relaxation and pampering. Be sure to take advantage of spa access and make good use of the mineral pools.
The best place having a massage with ³ different water falls, steam ,dry sauna, hot tubs .plus indoor and out door pool. Highly recommended
