My favourite Salon! From the time you walk through the door you’re greeted by friendly helpful staff. I love that owners Alan and Michelle Skoreyko are not just business owners but dedicated community members who give back to Fort Saskatchewan in many different ways. The Retreat is stylish, clean, inviting and offers a number of services by their skilled stylists, massage therapists and aestheticians. Michelle Tingley is my stylist. She is excellent in both cuts and colors. Michelle really listens and works to help you achieve the look your going for! The Retreat has a number of great stylists, health and beauty professionals there to help you out.

It's very neat and nice inside, they make sure you feel welcomed, and make sure you have a variety of refreshments, overall the service was great, but my hair was not exactly the color I wanted it, and some of the employees weren't as friendly, but I'm willing to give the salon another chance! ????

I've heard good things so needed to check this out myself. I walked in without an appt and was seen by a hairdresser within 5 min. Made an appt for the next day for a pedicure and got a free paraffin dip with it. The girls were very friendly and you could tell were experienced and professional. Loved my hairdo and loved the pedi. This is now my new place to go. Highly recommend!

I was loyal for over 7 years until I had to cancel twice due to a personal matter. I was told that if I wanted to rebook I’d have to first pay for a service I didn’t receive. I understand they work on commission but after 7 years of extensions Colors and lots of money I was treated like a stranger.

Coming to this salon was the worst decision I ever made. I asked for a bob haircut to Krystal and all she did was cut my hair uneven (definitely wasn't LAYERS) and it wasn't bob. She charged me way too much than my regular salon. I had to go to a different stylist and she fixed my hair. I waited three days for the owner to call me to hear him say there is nothing we can do. I used to do hair before and I know she didn't know how to cut hair. REALLY REALLY DISAPPOINTING. I would rather cut my own hair with my eyes closed than go here again!

The ladies who did our mommy and me package were sooo lovely. My 4 year old is scared of having her nails cut and the woman who did it was so good and patient with her. They made my own feet so soft, softest they’ve ever been. Well priced and we got little free samples after our appointment. Would love to come back here!

Had a haircut at the Retreat last week. I now have a 3 inch wide strip down the back of my head that is an inch to an inch and a half shorter than the rest of my hair. This girl thought she knew how to thin with a razor. I'm just glad my hair grows fairly quickly.

I have been here a number of times for waxing and it has always been ok. It's never been great service but it clean and slightly cheaper than other places. Every time I have been here I have always made an appointment and never got in on time. I showed up for my allotment exactly 8 min late and they had marked me as a no show and refused to get me in. Horrible service.

I'm very disappointed in the treatment your manager has given my wife. My wife comes in to ask her hair dresser a question about her hair leaves satisfied with the answer your stylist gave. Only to have your manager/owner AL call her at home and basically ask her not to come in. For a business that one would think strives for excellence having "master" hair stylist you'd think they would be able to handle questions and the honest opinion of their client regarding their hair. If your going to have an ELITIST attitude then you have to strive for perfection. If you want perfection you have to take constructive criticism. Again I am disappointed and actually quite sadden cause I always left the retreat with a positive feeling. Apparently this feeling was not mutual in all cases. I have been recommending people as I had recommended my wife to go to you and obviously that will strop now. I'm posting this on my Personal Facebook Page as well to spread the word of the treatment my wife has received and the poor attitude and Financial driven Company that you guys really are.,

Charged 350 for a simple red die by Michelle which faded quickly. When brought up told it would be the same cost to get it fixed. Told it would last 5-6 weeks and lasted two. Also found out the retreat is at least twice as expensive as other places

I just moved to town and haven't had my hair cut in over year and had been box dyed 20 times over. I was self concious about going somewhere to get my hair professionally cut and colored and the ladies at this salon wete extreamly welcoming I had a wonderful experience and left feeling great. I will definitely be back and I reccomend this salon to anyone looking. 2 thumbs way up!

I’m out of town a lot, but I live in Fort and this salon seems like one of the only good options here without having to drive I to the city or Sherwood Park. I get anxious when I come to the retreat because I feel overwhelmed at times to buy products. The “salon” is set up as more of a store front. You don’t even see or realize they have stylists or other staff when you walk in the front door, they’re all shoved in the back. It reminds me of a “Chatters” type of experience. It’s definitely the products that are on display, not the professionals. I do consulting for similar industry, and it’s obvious the owner(s) only care about the money coming in, and could care less about his staff. Product sales are where the moneys at, not having to split the cost of the cut and colour with the stylists, who actually do the work and get average commissions. I was in to book an appointment during this cold snap in February, and apparently the furnace hadn’t been working for weeks. It was brutal cold in there and obviously it didn’t matter to ownership. I was tempted to call health and safety board when I asked how long it had been like this. I expected to hear “a couple hours” or “a couple days, the heating guy is busy”. Instead, the girl at the front said it had been like this for weeks, and the owner hadn’t explained when it was getting fixed. That’s when I got extremely frustrated and sad for the staff, so I turned around and walked out. Sad to see “Fort’s best salon and spa” (joke) going down the tubes. Only a matter of time before the doors close for one reason or another. Poor girls.

I'm always greeted on the phone and in person by name by the cheerful staff! Dani is my stylist now who continues to do a great hair cut and is a pleasure to chat with.

I have finally found a hair stylist that is amazing. She went above and beyond and was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. She did not try to pressure me into buying things I didn't need unlike so many other salons. The pricing is very reasonable for what you get. I have also gone here for facial hair removal and they are fast and effective. I recommend this place for anybody who cares about their hair or is having issues with where they currently go.

Was very relieved to have a cut by a experienced, competant, sweet and professional stylist, Jenna. I did not have to go home and "fix" anything, nor do I have to hide under a hat for the next 3 weeks. Jenna is very comfortable to be around and I appreciate her listening to what I requested while offerring her expertise. I didn't feel rushed and overall was a great experience. I look forward to my next cut and may try different treatments now that I found someone I can trust with my hair.

A couple months ago I went in and asked for curtain bangs and shoulder length hair, but instead I got 2 pretty thin strands of hair at the front that aren’t curtain bangs at all and aren’t even cut the same length, and the rest of the hair wasn’t thinner at the end so it looks thick and choppy. I also had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time for the appointment to actually start because she went way over time with the person before me. My appointment felt very rushed. Don’t really reccomend unless you want a cheap looking haircut
